Note: Communications to Gaza/Gaza City have been cut for 48hrs or more, currently some landlines are said to have been re-established. The reporting at the moment is very sporadic, mostly from outside of Gaza with only a few reports from within Gaza being provided.
Observer reports are of a continuous bombardment and shelling, including through the night.

Color me unconvinced. I have seen tons of stories like this with the greatest new weapon only a year away that are never heard from again.
Maybe it might be legit enough to knock down light weight drones but highly doubt anything else with a heavy walled skin. It would have to hold that laser for quite a few seconds on the same spot.
You can watch videos of 80kw lasers cutting out parts on a cnc machine bed and it’s not instant magical destruction.

What I gather is that:
Bombing and shelling continues.
Drones are firing randomly, there are reports of shelling of beach areas.
Explosive demolitions continue.
Armour is present in Gaza City.
The population are forced into continuous displacements.
Official reports of casualties will be even more limited than they were previously, The ability to coordinate and to reach or find casualties is greatly hampered.

I’m posting this old 70s song as I believe that those of us with indigenous heritage, colonized, genocided, and assimilated have a blood cry in unity with the Palestinian cause.
At least one cause, that is eerily similar, is the fact that the Native Indigenous tribes, were unable, unwilling to join under one banner to repel the colonists in a unified front.
Each of the tribes were picked off.
I’ve no interest in going down the historical trails of Native Americans/Canadians.. only to say, the Arab nations (tribes) have been succumbing to the same demise.
As for the future Palestinian State, all the colonial schemes and machinations being hatched, that even under a yoke of USReal, I desire and want the Palestinian Statehood, recognized by the UN body, to come into fruition.
This generation of Palestinians may not see its labors, fruits, freedoms. But as generations come, more will throw off the chains, the Nation State will strengthen, the US/USReal will weaken.
Palestinian Statehood must be manifested.
The blood of the martyrs will not be forgotten or forgiven.
That’s all I’ve got to say about the “paper” Palestinian Statehood that’s on the table.

In essence you say that there have been many genocides, the genocide in Palestine is not exceptional, is not the most pressing moral issue of our time, and that it is not the duty of Russia and China to stop it because they are busy with a far more important endeavour- creating a counter balance to the evil West, which will solve all humanities problems and insanities.
Apart from being weak, your arguments are constructed on a false premise – a claim that it is Russia and China, and other BRICS states, that MUST end the genocide in Palestine.
I have not seen any such claim or expectation. Such a claim or expectation would, indeed, be out of order.
Something else is claimed – that Russia and China, as important states, have not taken any action, even symbolic, against Israel which has been committing genocide for two years, while presenting themselves as leaders in building a better, just world.
Russia and China have loudly condemned Israel’s actions, but have never backed the condemnations with any action against Israel. Russia has explicitly stated that it will never sever relations with Israel.
China forcefully and eloquently participated in the ICJ hearings in the genocide case against Israel, but no action followed despite the ICJ January 2024 provisional measures (orders) to Israel to stop acts which may fall under the Genocide Convention, that is, acts of genocide.
ALL states, and that means ALL states, and that means Russia and China and BRICS, have legal obligations under the Genocide Convention and other international law. There are also moral imperatives shared by human kind in all religions and cultures. They focus on the protection of the weak, the hungry, the defenceless, the persecuted, discriminated, the dispossessed, the violently attacked, the ones who have been wronged.
States have a range of measures and actions they can take against a state committing genocide. Russia and China have done nothing, their relations with Israel remain unchanged, yet they swear by international law while, in fact, flouting it.
They can not even call the genocide – genocide, that is how they are creating a counter balance to the West that is going to save the world.
Countering the West by taking effective action to stop the genocide against Palestinians that is happening right here, right now is how a counter balance can start to emerge, right here, right now.
There is no more important legal and moral obligation today than to stop Israel and save the Palestinian people from destruction, a people without a state to back them, or an army to protect them.
Russia and China have not taken any action to prevent or obstruct Israel and protect the Palestinians. The fact that others also have not is no excuse.
Coming up with excuses and justifications for Russia and China is defending the indefensible.
The current violent throws of the colonialist world order are an inevitable consequence of, among other, the greatest injustice done to the Palestinian people. Yet another injustice to the Palestinian people is not going to usher in a better, just world order. No one has an excuse.
