It never ceases to amaze me how many excuses the Israelis and Americans have for killing Palestinians and how acceptable these excuses are to so many of the “good citizens” of these two countries . For God’s sake, the Palestinians cannot leave the Strip or the West Bank without Israeli permission. Palestine is OCCUPIED – they are held like fish in a barrel. Why do people insist this is a “war”? It is a slaughter house encircled with razor wire, attacked by a full army, navy and air force, and on the other side, it is a few resistance fighters who are desperately trying to make the insane annihilation of their people stop.
Anyway, here a couple of news items.
The US assassinates people in foreign countries without the approval of those foreign countries. It’s right there in US law (AUMF) that the president can just murder whomever he wants without a trial or hearing or a warning. We say it’s okay to just do this on a whim because the targets are bad hombres. But an international judge in an international court finds that persons in Israel or the US have broken international laws, and suddenly we announce that they can’t even suggest that these individuals be taken to trial.
The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on four more International Criminal Court judges or prosecutors, including from allies France and Canada, in a new effort to hobble the tribunal over Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
“The Court is a national security threat that has been an instrument for lawfare against the United States and our close ally Israel,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement, using a term popular with President Donald Trump’s supporters.
Rubio said that the four people targeted from the tribunal based in The Hague had sought to investigate or prosecute nationals from the United States or Israel “without the consent of either nation.”
The four include Judge Nicolas Guillou of France, who is presiding over a case in which an arrest warrant was issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
France on Wednesday expressed its “dismay” over the sanctions on its citizen, which would bar him from transacting in US dollars and traveling to the US. The sanctions, if enforced could lead to secondary sactions on EU banks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the move.

Israeli Defence Ministry buying new refuelling aircraft from US
Israel’s Ministry of Defence has announced plans to sign a contract with Washington to purchase the Israeli Air Force’s fifth and sixth refuelling aircraft, worth an estimated $500m.
“This is a follow-on contract with the US Government for procuring two advanced refueling aircraft in addition to four previously purchased KC-46 aircraft,” the ministry said in a statement.
Amir Baram, the ministry’s director general, said the additional aircraft will allow the Air Force “to reach distant theaters with greater force and scope”.
The US government faces sustained calls to suspend transfers of weapons and military equipment to Israel as it wages war on the Gaza Strip and carries out attacks across the region.
Washington has provided its ally with billions of dollars in arms since the Gaza war began.

Yomtov remains at large, apparently in Israel, but requests for his extradition have been ignored.

It’s been confirmed by the father of the Amna al-Mufti, the girl whose video everyone watched yesterday of being killed while carrying a water container, that Amna’s mother, Najlaa, and a little brother, Baraa, were killed in a separate air strike later.
I did some research to find the exact date of the strike. It was on May 17, 2025, just five months after Amna was killed.
The father also said that he has a little son who has been injured 4 times.

We have several birds, various of them lost pets or wild injured. The ones I enjoy watching here are the swallows, they build a nest each year about 6ft off the ground in a porch area, so I often just sit and watch them. When there is a breeze they will glide hovering and circling right in front, watching me at close distance from the air sometimes. Swifts are amazing also, they only land to nest, will stay several months continuously in the air, to me they have an other-worldly look, like they are from somewhere else.

Italy has a secret accord with Israel, and it might lead to Italy being charged with aiding and abetting in genocide.
“A group of legal experts, has been examining these Accords in light of the current Israeli genocidal operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
We believe the enforcement of these accords by Italy may amount to complicity in grave breaches of international law, including genocide and apartheid.
The accords oblige Italy to not disclose any details on its joint military activity with Israel, a fact that gravely undermines our rule of law.
The signatories include lawyers, academics and a former section president of Italy’s Supreme Court.
They say the 2005 accord includes cooperation on imports, exports and transit of military materials, as well as training of armed forces, among other things.
Jurists and lawyers also denounced the lack of transparency surrounding the 2005 Italy Israel agreement.
Despite involving public expenditure, the agreement is largely covered by military secrecy, making it virtually impossible for Italian citizens to know how public funds are being used.
We won’t ever be able to know what Italian Israeli accord is about given the secrecy of the deal.
It’s disturbing to say the least that Italian taxpayers are financing Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
That’s why we have to demand the government terminate the Accord.”

White phosphorus causes severe burns and long-term respiratory injuries. Although the substance is permitted for use in illuminating targets or generating smoke screens, its application as an incendiary weapon near civilians is prohibited under international law.
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch (HRW) have recorded Israel’s deployment of white phosphorus in both Gaza and Lebanon.
Amnesty has verified that Israeli artillery discharged M825 and M825A1 shells in proximity to Gaza harbor and hotels in October 2023. In Lebanon, the town of Dhayra was struck by the same shells on October 16, 2024, resulting in a minimum of nine civilians being injured and numerous homes being destroyed.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health has confirmed 173 instances of exposure.
Ekot’s review also showed that the Seventh AP Fund increased its stake in ICL Group in 2025, raising its holdings from 1.2 to 1.6 million shares.”
