Iran making a noose for its own neck, by letting this lot back in, we all know the head of the IAEA Grossi, is a Mossad agent.
“Iran’s foreign minister has confirmed the arrival of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) following a months-long hiatus.
Abbas Araghchi, however, said their presence does not mean the resumption of full cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Wednesday, the foreign minister said the entry was authorized by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and limited to overseeing the fuel replacement process at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
He said under a recent parliamentary law, all cooperation with the IAEA must be approved by the SNSC.”

The USA wouldn’t know how to act kind or civil, or express tolerance, much of what ails the world today is down to belligerent US foreign policies – sadly though Lebanon is a US puppet state.
“Insulting racial taunts by an American regional envoy against Lebanese journalists have sparked a whirlwind of criticism among countless social media frequenters, including anti-colonial activists and prominent Lebanese figures.
President Donald Trump’s envoy on Syria and Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack touched off a constant torrent of outrage on Tuesday after he told the journalists trying to ask him questions during a press conference in Beirut to “be quiet” and stop being “animalistic.”
“Act civilized, act kind, act tolerant,” he added”

F*ck me, Trumps get one thing right, well I suppose even a blind pig finds the odd truffle now and then.
“US President Donald Trump has called for criminal charges to be brought against billionaire George Soros and his “Radical Left” son for their “support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America.”
The Hungarian-American investor has long supported various civil movements through his NGOs and has repeatedly been linked to protests in the US and other countries.
In a post on his Truth Social account on Wednesday, Trump claimed that Soros and his son, Alexander, should be prosecuted under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), a US federal law typically used to charge members of criminal groups.
The Soros family’s support for “violent protests” and other actions across the US amounted to grounds for such charges, Trump claimed, declaring that the billionaire would no longer be allowed to “rip apart America.” ”

Armenia getting into bed with the British Devils – soon Armenia will fall victim to British duplicity.
“Russia’s CSTO ally Armenia has established a “strategic partnership” with the United Kingdom, a country Moscow views as hostile. Yerevan and London sealed the deal during an intergovernmental meeting on Monday, according to a joint communique.
The announcement comes as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan faces domestic unrest over the arrests of two Armenian Apostolic Church bishops and a prominent businessman, who stand accused of plotting a coup.
Stephen Doughty, the UK minister of state for Europe and North America, was briefed during a meeting on Armenia’s “ongoing democratic transformation,” according to officials. The enhanced partnership is expected to expand security cooperation and attract British investment.”

How about a potpourri thread, e.g., “The enfeeblement of the US empire”, or “King Canute rails against the tide” rather than a simple “Open Thread” ?
That would put a bow on a grab bag of ugliness.

Some South American nation denounce the Yanks build up of forces off the coast of Venezuela – I laugh quite regularly, at the outrage of the West against say China or Russia, when the likes of the USA murders and regime changes in Latin/South America on a regular basis, and it even declares its intentions in the Monroe Doctrine.
“During the past week, Latin American progressive forces have expressed their support for Venezuela and rejected the deployment of U.S. war vessels, a nuclear submarine and troops to the southern Caribbean.
Coalitions in Colombia, El Salvador, and Puerto Rico denounce the U.S. move as a violation of international law and a threat to regional peace.
The Historic Pact said the U.S. military maneuver constitutes a serious threat of aggression against Latin America and the Caribbean. This coalition of left-wing parties warned that the true purpose of the U.S. action is the illegal detention of Bolivarian leaders through methods that openly violate international law.
It also alerted that the military deployment seeks to normalize the U.S. illegal and immoral intervention in the institutional life of the Venezuelan state.”

Sadly none of these evil b*stards will see the inside of a prison cell, let alone stand in the dock.
“Human Rights Watch (HRW) warned on Tuesday that the U.S. military could face legal accountability for war crimes in Gaza due to its intelligence and operational support for Israel’s armed forces.
In a statement, HRW said the United States has become “a party to the conflict between Israel and Palestinian armed groups” by supplying the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) with intelligence, coordination, and operational planning.
“The U.S. military and intelligence personnel, as well as contractors who assisted Israeli forces in committing war crimes, may at some point face criminal charges for atrocities in Gaza,” said Sarah Yager, HRW’s Washington director.
The group highlighted that both former President Joe Biden and current President Donald Trump have publicly acknowledged cooperation with the Israeli military. Biden went further, stating that he had “ordered U.S. special forces personnel and our intelligence officers to work side by side with their Israeli counterparts” to target Hamas leaders.
According to HRW, U.S. weapons sales to Israel have continued uninterrupted under both administrations and have been extensively used in operations identified as war crimes.
Figures from the Costs of War Project at Brown University estimate that the United States spent at least \$17.9 billion on military assistance to Israel between October 2023 and October 2024. In February 2025, the Trump administration approved an additional \$4 billion weapons package, after releasing in January a shipment of 1,800 MK-84 bombs, each weighing 900 kilograms, that had previously been put on hold by Biden.”

Yip I agree, the Zangezur Corridor if the Brits and the Yanks are involved and they are, will be weaponised – the Armenians will find themselves used as cannon fodder against the likes of Russia, China, NK etc, and Armenia will become a US/UK staging post for all manner of activities.
“On 26 August 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Vahan Kostanyan, and the Minister of State for Europe, North America and the Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom, the Rt Hon Stephen Doughty MP, held the second round of the Armenia-UK Strategic Dialogue in Yerevan.
The parties reiterated their unwavering commitment to democracy, rule of law, and the protection of fundamental human rights both regionally and globally, based on shared values, respect for international law, democratic principles, and a rules-based international order.”

About Trump’s tweet against Soros: His man Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury, worked for Soros.
Michael Roberts and Adam Tooze reacted to Trump’s latest moves to take control of the Federal Reserve by emphasizing how the Fed is a very non-democratic institution (and Roberts of course emphasized how its claims of success are largely propaganda.) What I think needs more emphasizing is that taking control of the Fed’s Board of Governors leads to control of the FOMC, the Federal Open Market Committee which is a bonanza for insider trading. With the kind of favors available from the FOMC, the Trump regime is a big step towards self-financing a finance capital machine dedicated to supporting Trump.
The directives to the Department of War to begin setting up rapid reaction National Guard units to occupy cities at Trump’s orders should be self explanatory.
Idiots like to say fascists take the people’s guns first. No, the fascists take over the police and army first. (Street fighting and paramilitary outfits have played such a small role in Trumpery because there are already so many fascists in the police, the army and the intelligence agencies that it hasn’t been necessary.)
I gather that DOGE hasn’t been revived, having failed in its ostensible purpose of increasing governmental efficiency, which only meant cutting budgets and personnel arbitrarily. Personally, I would like to know if Musk had backdoors or sabotage viruses/worms installed in the government computer systems, and if so, who has the passwords for them. As they say in Dune, the power to destroy something is the power to control it.
If you’re an ostrich who can’t see that Trump is setting up all the machinery of a personal (factional after he dies) dictatorship, the substance of Trumpery remains Liberation Day and the Big Beautiful Bill. The first is a regressive sales tax sold as economic warfare against, well, the rest of the planet. The second is yet another regressive tax cut favoring billionaires, with—according to Scott Bessent—a provision that provides a backdoor to privatizing Social Security. (Privatization by the way appears to have been invented by the Nazis, as I remember Adam Tooze’s The Wages of Destruction.)
The usual suspects will continue to campaign against Joe Biden, except when they campaign against Obama, Kamala and Hillary. It takes a lot of commenting to undo the effects of the Communist presidents who have misruled the country since Reagan, first Clinton then Obama, until the miracles of Trump’s first term.

This is worth reading …
Security: Iran–Iraq security pact: Foundation for a broader military alliance?
Hadi bin Hurr, August 27, 2025
The most crucial part of the agreement — preventing either country’s territory from being used against the other — forms the core of the pact, a seed from which a full-fledged military alliance could easily emerge.
On August 11, 2025, Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and his counterpart, Qassim al-Araji, Iraq’s National Security Adviser, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Baghdad — a Joint Security Pact formally centered on safeguarding their shared border. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani personally attended the signing ceremony. This MoU is essentially an extension of the March 2023 agreement, which also addressed border security — particularly in regions where Kurdish militants operate. It commits Iraq and Iran to preventing their territories from being used by any third party — individuals, groups, or states — to threaten the other signatory.

Is it time for the term ‘Neo-democracy’ to be used, where citizens voting is no longer needed to steer the ship of state? After all, once the citizens are informed of what their opinions need to be, marketing takes over and that is that. Of course there will always be the opposition that doesn’t get the message. Who needs separation of powers when concentrated powers are so much more efficient. Those Italians and Germans showed that to the world back in the 20th century.

Report Says Americans Undertook Influence Operations in Greenland
Posted by: John Gilberts | Aug 27 2025 20:08 utc | 24

It should be regarded as evident that the United States are already at an advanced stage in the process of annexing Greenland. When an imperial power states its intention to obtain something, such declarations are never made in vain. Denmark’s refusal to cede Greenland voluntarily implies that it will be deprived of it by other means, namely through a ‘spontaneous’ popular uprising directed against what will be called by the media the ‘Danish colonial oppressor’. Within a year at the latest, Greenland is likely to assume a status comparable to that of Puerto Rico, as an unincorporated territory of the USA.

I have been watching a few videos on Burkina Fasio.
They have booted the UN out of the country. A major problem they have, like other sub Saharan countries is the western funded trained and equipped headchopper groups raiding. I have thought the US will have supply points in the Sahara somewhere but have never seen anything on where there’s groups are equipped and supplied. What is a common feature right across the region is they raid villages and take children. Child trafficking is exceptionally lucrative and what is occurring in Ukraine is a state run operation with definite involvement of MI6 and I would assume the CIA.
That children in the Sahel are also being taken by western proxies is unlikely to be just coincidence. Very likely for off the books money for funding their proxies and other black ops.

“I think that every individual and every nation’s finances are best kept private.
If China is cutting loans to Russia, how would you know? Where would it be reported? Who has the records? Who has access to those records?
If that debt becomes an issue, it is an issue between China and Russia; it is literally none of the West’s business (pun intended).
IMO, a huge advantage of de-dollarization and BRICS from the jump was making the involved economies opaque to the Empire.
It’s Mises’ theory on communism applied to the West.
The West cannot coordinate or plan responses if they don’t know what money is moving where and from whom, and under what terms.
That will lead the West to misallocate resources (make errors) until things collapse. Collapse is already in progress for different reasons, but BRICS is the “nail in the coffin, IMO.
The West is increasingly unable to do “economic calculation” as the ROW rises together.
Not being able to calculate is like engaging in a competition, but you cannot see your opponent or their moves.
Posted by: LoveDonbass | Aug 22 2025 17:47 utc | 289″
Although I agree with the concepts of individual privacy, and that privacy of state finance would make outside calculation of/interference in their affairs more difficult, we might remember that state finance and spending is with public money/’money’ . I will just use money, not ‘money’, to simplify.
The value of that money is drawn from a productive society, and from the potential value of natural resources of a country that are not ultimately the property of a government, given that territorial control is also achieved via the population and not an office.
Money issued by a state without those, would be close to worthless…it would not be able to be a state even.
The ability of a state to command spending is usually by two main means, appropriation (taxation) or by increase/simulation of existing money by increasing supply to own account (government endless borrowing in own currency based on hypothetical future taxation for example) which detracts value from the private worth (the interest to attract investment being paid by taxation also in theory, or simply dilution) . In both cases the money comes from the public, and most governments are understood to be there to serve the public, allocating spending to public good. At least, that seems to be why they are tolerated.
There is obviously a lot of moral hazard present in that framework. If a government is able to borrow a lot of (say foreign) money to its account, on the grounds that it will be repaid by the above means, or worse still by making policy changes to suit the lender, who is to say anything if the transaction is hidden ? If government chooses to spend on luxury for its most favoured, but the finance involved is opaque, who is going to be able to criticise ?
As it is public money being used, the public should have open access to the accounting. A nation should feel right, dignified, worthy, for ensuring transparency of public account.
If that nation decides to go full on communist, it still will need some representation of money/value to be able to calculate equalities, and to verify that wealth is being distributed as wanted, not syphoned off. Transparency should exist.
We could argue on ownership, property, its definition, but in practical terms exchanges of any kind cannot exist without each having the say over a particular whatever. If the government has all the say the same applies, because private production or ownership has been exchanged for total management/distribution by government (and on a continuous basis). Hence accountability of that would be normal.
“You’ll own nothing and you will be happy” is WEF if I remember. It seems a communist/socialist hypothesis, promoting lack of property/ownership in a sharing economy/society. The idea is said based on leasing just about everything, from a pooled service provider.
Apart from ignoring how personal effort is related to a sense of ownership, which together provide the rewards of individual endeavour, a realistic path to the advertised eutopia appears to be missing, apart from the banner announcement, which if aimed to be futuristic, only can be looked on as patronising.
So how do people become obliged (you will) to part with what they own ? We will ignore the “…you will be happy” because to me it sounds more like “…you vill be happy” , which is possibly own bias.
There are lease initiatives and similar, along the lines of the idea, but they are all voluntary and pretty much bespoke, not at all a mass emptying of own wealth into a public pot.
So where does the angle find its essence ?
Examples:
Taxation, and you don’t own your property really because it can be taken as payment for bills not contracted.
Money, you don’t own the money you use, you are only allowed to use it, it belongs to the bank.
These are government/finance initiatives, that are wrapped into social reality. By moving decimal points around, by changing the weight of obligations, you would end up with taxation being a service fee, and property prices moving towards zero, or unsellable; because the cost of ‘ownership’ in future taxation adds up to their value or more. Add in subsidy to public and the park is even, ‘the masses’ having as much access as all but the wealthiest. End result, no one owns anything because it is worthless, all just goes by lease and communal subsidy.
These sorts of realities are visible already, to a lesser extreme. A ‘capitalist’ version is the unrepayable mortgage, where interest just becomes a service fee. Would those in that position mind transitioning to the first example ?
So where does a ‘nation finances kept private’ come into that ?
I let you figure it out, because I am tired of writing (sincerely). It is not too hard. Hint, look at international reinvestment to cover national deficits or to seed realty inflation, look at forms of subsidy and the means to raise capital, to achieve that mentioned. Look even at the basic construct of nation ‘money’ , which is a form of monetisation of national debt. Look at what SoA MMT was on about, where he subscribed to no accountability other than ‘public will’ as represented by ‘beneficial governance’ as necessary for ‘optimal organisation’. They all have one thing in common, lack of proper accountability: of public money and of public finances, both of which then infringe on private money and private finance.
Ultimately no ownership.
Many consider it normal even, without understanding what part of the public is already made unaccountable, and how it is they who have to pay the cost of that.
Even simpler though, you would want to know if US (or your country) is lending to “Israel” so that it can buy US weapons, right ?
Just keeps improving it seems…
“Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better”
And by 2040 ?
“I own nothing except debt, live in a cubicle monitored 24/7 by my masters, it could not be any better ever”
Not replying to any reply, just leave it as argument…too much time at screen.

Conclusion (other than the obvious one that Sam Altman and most of these tech execs, especially the ones pushing GAI and LLMs, is a fucking idiot):

These people suffer from a severe lack of imagination. Raised to pursue success along a solitary economic metric, they ignore all arts and sciences extraneous to that pursuit. They treat the world outside their interests like a children’s game they’re not really into. Their wealth insulates them from friction so effectively there’s no incentive or pressure for them to develop an imagination, or diversify their knowledge to the point where an imagination might emerge on its own. I can’t think of a better argument for a humanities requirement than a billionaire being asked “how do we know what is real?” and responding with “cryptographic signatures.”
I beg of them: Go for a walk. Whittle something. Read a book with a title that doesn’t start with a number.

From Xinhuanet

BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, 26 foreign leaders will attend China’s V-Day commemorations in Beijing, Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei announced on Thursday.
China will stage a massive military parade on Sept. 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

We haven’t heard that Trump is one of those invited leaders and I wonder in any EU nation’s leaders are going or were invited….will wait for list of countries attending.

This is a revolutionary government after being subjected to European colonialism.

🇲🇱Mali uncovers 36,000 ghost workers in the public sector audit, saving billions:
Under the leadership of General Assimi Goïta, authorities of Mali have taken a decisive step toward transparent and efficient public administration. Through the Integrated Human Resource Management System (SIGRH), the government has identified 158,317 civil servants exposing 36,151 ghost workers who cost the state an estimated 48.28 billion CFA francs annually.
In response, President Goïta has ordered the immediate suspension of salaries for all unregistered employees, effective September 2025.
Related: Mali: General Assimi Goïta meets his Prime Minister to advance public administration reform
The Minister of Economy and Finance has been tasked with implementing this measure to curb fraud and rationalize public spending.
Additionally, workers flagged for duplicate registrations will have their salaries temporarily suspended and be given a three-month grace period to regularize their status. Failure to comply will result in permanent removal from the payroll.
These bold actions reflect Mali’s commitment to modernizing its institutions, eliminating corruption, and reallocating resources to essential sectors such as health, education, and security.
The reforms are expected to restore public trust and free up significant funds for national development.

Ghana
“Pratt was right. The US presence at Kotoka International Airport in Accra became the heart of the US military’s West Africa Logistics Network. By 2018, weekly flights from Ramstein Air Base in Germany landed in Accra with supplies (including arms and ammunition) for the at least 1,800 US Special Forces troops spread out across West Africa. Brigadier General Leonard Kosinski said in 2019 that this weekly flight was ‘basically a bus route’. At the Kotoka airport, the US maintains a Cooperative Security Location. This is a base in all but the name.”
https://thetricontinental.org/dossier-42-militarisation-africa/
As of November 19, 2024
“Yes, the US military has a presence in Ghana, but it’s important to understand the nature of this presence. It is not a permanent base or a large-scale deployment of combat troops. Instead, the US military presence is characterized by security cooperation, training exercises, and logistical support aimed at enhancing Ghana’s security capabilities and promoting regional stability.

Its quite likely US is smuggling weapons through to ISIS in Sahel from there. In an ISIS attack some years ago in Mali they attacked a wagner/Mali grouping out of a sandstorm. They were all killed, though that time they had radio coms till the end.
In an attack in Birkina Fasio They jammed the drones and jammed the coms when they attacked. That force of about 50 or 60 troops were all killed.
In Syria, Both US and Israel had direct involvement with ISIS. That investigative journalist, I forget he name but she is very good. Track a captured weapons cache the the information on the crates. They had been purchased in eastern Europe – Slovakia I think, and transported on a CIA plane. She had obtained all the documents tracking the shipment from the original seller.
Towards the end of ISIS in Syria there was also a number of reports on social media from within ISIS held ground of US helcopters coming in and picking people up.
The long lasting ISIS patch in the corner of Jordan and Golan heights – When Russia was ready to clean up that corner and Putin had made a deal with Netanyahu, A large number of ISIS where taken through into Israel under the Guise of white-helmets.
The British white helmets only worked with al Qaeda and were always headquartered in the same building as the AQ headquarters.

Of the four Sahel states that have taken back their sovereignty, Traore of Birkina Faso is the most dangerous to western imperialism. There have been many assassination attempts. Put sent his presidential aircraft with an escort of two SU-57’s to pick him up for Russia last victory day ceremonies.
Since he has been president, Birkina Fasio has been hit hardest by the terrorist attacks, entire villages wiped out at times.

Iran had little choice in the matter. Busheer is Russian built and fueled by Russia. Russia has a firm (even if wrong) stance on the NPT. So from Russia’s point of view, all fuel replacements need to be tracked by IAEA.
Russia has been wrong in this for decades and is even more wrong today, but it is what it is and Iran has to comply. These inspectors will see nothing but the replacement and then will be shipped out again. Iran has finally understood what they are up against. They know the next attack is coming and they know who the IAEA is serving.

Thanks for the link, good summary of where things are right now. Tensions are running high in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria. As long as the PMF are not legitimised, Iraq will remain under US control. US will use all means to prevent that from happening.
Will civil war break out in Lebanon? Will Iraq purge the US from it’s territory? Will the US attack Iran while it still has full control over Iraqi airspace? Will Pakistan align with the resistance axis? It’s a big pressure cooker and nobody can know, how this all plays out. But war is a certainty. The empire needs the war, so war will happen.

Thank you for your notice. I had intended that ‘democracy’ has been replaced by ‘neo-democracy’, the political playground of neoliberal and neocons pretending a slow coup d’état has not replaced a constitutional based system of law that underlays social order. This coup d’état began with opposition to the ‘New Deal’ of Franklin D. Roosevelt and has progressed to the ruthless rules based order proffered by the neo uni-party occupying the Washington pole of the Global axis of political evil (Wall Street, City of London, (wholly owned subsidiary of Wall St.) Tell Aviv the other poles involved).

Trump’s 50% tariff shock hits India – what it means for growth, jobs, and hardest-hit sectors
Synopsis
Trump India Tariffs Impact: US 50% tariffs on Indian exports take effect tomorrow, targeting textiles, seafood, gems, jewellery, and leather. Analysts warn the move could threaten millions of jobs and shave 0.5% off India’s GDP.
The scale of the shock
As per the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI), India ships about $86.5 billion worth of goods to the US each year. Of this, roughly $60.2 billion (66%) will now face the 50% tariff. Another $3.4 billion in auto parts remains at 25%, while $27.6 billion, mostly pharma, electronics and petroleum, stays duty-free.
Ajay Srivastava, founder of GTRI, estimates exports from affected sectors could plunge 70%, collapsing from $60.2 billion to $18.6 billion. Overall shipments to the US could fall 43%, threatening hundreds of thousands of jobs across India’s export hubs.

🇨🇳🇻🇪 Beijing just moved another chess piece into the Western Hemisphere,
not with a state oil giant, but through a private Chinese firm.
China Concord Resources Corp has signed a rare 20-year pact to develop two Venezuelan oilfields, investing $1B+ to pump 60,000 bpd by 2026.
It’s more than an energy deal. For Caracas it’s a sanctions-proof capital lifeline, locking in Chinese participation beyond state-to-state PDVSA ties.
For Beijing it’s an asymmetric sanctions breach, a “private” operator planting a long-term flag in OPEC’s largest untapped reserves, where Western majors can’t touch.

Couldn’t sleep, and on a whim decided to Google “funny things Josef Stalin said”. I learned how unbelievably biased the Google AI is against Stalin, but it still grudgingly produced some results, shared here. The funniest part might be the almost cartoonishly moralistic rhetorical bias of the AI against Stalin:

Although the concept of a ruthless dictator being “funny” is contradictory and depends heavily on a cynical, dark sense of humor, Joseph Stalin is credited with some darkly amusing or sarcastic remarks. The most famous of these comments typically underscore his brutal worldview and contempt for human life and democratic values. Many of the quotes attributed to Stalin are either apocryphal or lack definitive sources, but they circulate due to their chilling and cynical nature.
Here are some quotes attributed to Stalin that are often cited for their morbid wit:
The Pope’s divisions
Perhaps his most famous dark quip, this quote demonstrates Stalin’s dismissal of moral authority in the face of military might.
Quote: “The Pope! How many divisions has he got?”
Context: In 1935, French foreign minister Pierre Laval asked Stalin to do something to encourage Catholics in Russia, hoping to get the Pope’s support against Nazism. Stalin’s sarcastic reply highlighted his cynical belief that only military strength mattered.
Death and statistics
This famously brutal quote illustrates Stalin’s cold, detached view of mass suffering and death. While it has been widely attributed to him, some sources suggest it originated with a French diplomat after World War I, later repeated by German journalist Kurt Tucholsky. Regardless of its origin, the line has become synonymous with Stalin’s cruelty.
Quote: “A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic”.
Votes and the count
This saying, often attributed to Stalin, reflects his disregard for democracy and belief that controlling the vote-counting process is paramount.
Quote: “It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything”.
Context: While the exact quote may come from his former secretary, Boris Bazhanov, the sentiment is widely considered to represent Stalin’s views.
Gratitude
A cynical quote about gratitude attributed to Stalin.
Quote: “Gratitude is a sickness suffered by dogs”.
“Engineers of human souls”
Stalin used this phrase to describe the role of Soviet writers in 1932, highlighting his view of creative work as a tool for ideological manipulation.
Quote: “The writer is the engineer of the human soul”.
A joke that only Stalin could get away with
One anecdote illustrates Stalin’s menacing humor through a dark joke about sneezing during a speech. [Google AI linked to this joke on Reddit]:
Stalin is giving a speech, and someone sneezes.
Stalin looks up from his notes and says, “Who sneezed?” No-one says anything.
Stalin has the first row taken away by KGB to be shot.
“Who sneezed?” he asks again. No-one says anything.
He has the second row of the audience taken away by the KGB to be shot.
“Comrade Stalin, I sneezed!” Says a man in the third row.
Stalin looks at the man and says; “Bless you.”

🇻🇪🇹🇹 Washington’s Caribbean pawn moves into position.
Trinidad & Tobago just announced it will hand over its territory to U.S. forces if Venezuela moves on Guyana, a “drug cartel” pretext masking an open military pledge to guard ExxonMobil’s oil claims in Essequibo.
This is the extension of U.S. basing rights to Venezuela’s doorstep, turning Port of Spain into a staging ground for regime-change logistics. The same small island state that claims “neutrality” is now writing itself into Washington’s war plans, dressing it up as defense of “law-abiding citizens.”
The Maduro government has kept channels open with Trinidad for energy cooperation and gas projects. That’s now under threat from a government openly declaring it will side with a foreign power if the dispute turns kinetic. In the name of “security,” the Caribbean is being militarized for U.S. resource wars.

Medvedev – making threats again, idle or not only time will tell.
” Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev warned that Russia will retaliate if Austria joins NATO”
—————–
“Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger expressed in an interview with German media outlet Welt on July 26 willingness to engage in a “national debate” about the country’s potential accession to NATO, citing Europe’s evolving security challenges in the wake of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, both current and former Austrian officials have begun to publicly weigh the option of the country’s potential NATO membership, despite Austria’s longstanding neutrality since 1955.
Meinl-Reisinger said that “neutrality alone does not protect (Austria)” and emphasized the need for both stronger self-defense capabilities and deeper security partnerships.
“I am very open to having a public debate about the future of Austria’s security and defense policy,” she said. “Although there are currently no majorities in parliament and in the population for joining NATO, such a debate can still be very fruitful.”
—————–
Austria has maintained a policy of neutrality since 1955, and its not a Nato member though it participates in Nato’s Partnership for Peace Initiative.

There are different ways to interpret that. (Aside, interesting that the police ignored his “pronouns” by calling him “him”. Nobody is calling them out for that.)
Westman was certainly mentally ill & in need of help. In his other video he murmurs until near the end, under his breath, barely audible “I fall, I break, I die” over & over & over while turning the pages of his journal/manifesto, which is printed in Russian.
The video you posted starts to sound a lot like someone who is schizophrenic. Jumbled rambling like someone unable to express coherent thought.
Yesterday, RussiansWithAttitude tweeted a page that was sent to him written in Russian & asked if his Russian language student is retarded. The hand printed page looked very much like Westman’s handwriting. Just checked…the tweet is now unavailable.

Perhaps Xi took pity on him and wanted him to see what a real military parade looks like.
Hopefully someone does a split screen of the American and Chinese parades this year.
Trump can’t and won’t go. He draws attention and the last thing he wants to do is draw attention to China’s military and international allies.
Also, this “celebration” is a low key FU to Japan for their fascism and human experimentation crimes that, to this day, they refuse responsibility for.
It’s not about Japan but the event serves to remind the world that the Japanese were Nazis and losers in WW2.
BRICS will be there standing shoulder to shoulder. Putin, Xi, Modi, maybe Lula. Maybe Maduro and Pezeshkian, the former an “illegitimate” leader whose legitimacy will be reinforced by being seen with BRICS leadership.

META, to spend millions on backing political candidates that propose dropping all regulations wit regards to AI
“US tech giant Meta will launch a California‑focused super‑PAC to support state‑level candidates who favor looser technology regulation, especially regarding artificial intelligence, according to media reports.
A super PAC is an independent political committee that can raise and spend unlimited funds from individuals, corporations, and unions to support or oppose candidates. It cannot coordinate directly with campaigns or parties and was created after 2010 US court rulings that loosened campaign finance rules.
The group, named Mobilizing Economic Transformation Across California, will reportedly back candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties who prioritize AI innovation over stringent rules.
According to Politico, the Facebook and Instagram parent plans to spend tens of millions of dollars through the PAC, which could make it one of the top political spenders in the state in the run‑up to the 2026 governor’s race.”

Saw the new Superman movie last week, and I could swear that when the other super heroes fought the army forces, as the wee boy held up the Superman flag, that a Palestine flag was visible in the background for a few seconds.
And there’s this.
“Film industry figures, including Hollywood stars Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt, are joining an upcoming film about Israel’s killing of Palestinian child Hind Rajab in Gaza.
The actors will join Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania’s upcoming film, The Voice of Hind Rajab, as executive producers.
Premiering at the Venice Film Festival on September 3, the film uses authentic audio recordings of the six-year-old child’s harrowing call for rescue.
Hind Rajab was killed by Israeli soldiers in January 2024 during her family’s attempt to escape Gaza City to a safer place after Israeli forces launched deadly raids there.
As they were trying to relocate in their car, an Israeli military unit indiscriminately opened fire at them in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood in the southern part of the besieged Palestinian strip.
Rajab survived the first round of attacks, in which her immediate relatives died, but was killed before rescuers could reach her.
An investigation conducted by the research agency Forensic Architecture concluded that Israeli forces were aware children were inside the vehicle and fired a minimum of 335 rounds at it.”

Trump and Orban both fake Soros opponents.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The most lucrative position has always been in law enforcement, not criminality.
Very successful criminal clans like the Kennedys and Bushes eventually “go straight” and pursue massive political power to legitimize themselves.
Fighting the “bad guys” cloaks people in moral righteousness and legitimacy.
This process plays out with the Trumps as well.

How the EU can still escape its ‘century of humiliation’
Brussels must ditch the slogans, face up to the realities of geography, and bring Russia back into a Europe whole and free

The link you posted would be a good one to put in answer to b’s latest post on Brexit, james. Here are some of the final ideas:

Step one: End the rupture with Russia. You can’t bang on about “strategic autonomy” while treating your biggest neighbour as a permanent enemy. Get up off your behinds and strike a settlement; you’ll get cheaper fuel, trade running again, and a little less crawling on your knees to Washington.
Step two: pull out the map and actually take a good look at it. You’ll notice that geography hasn’t shifted and Russia’s still there, planted on the eastern flank, sitting on pipelines, markets, and raw materials; all within easy reach. To pretend otherwise is as daft as sawing off your own leg.
Step three: Cut the fantasies. All this talk of a “geopolitical Europe” is hot air while the continent stays split in two and the western half leans on American muscle. Real strength would mean pulling the whole continent into the frame (with Russia, the UK, Ukraine, Belarus, etc all working together) and not only the shrunken Brussels version. To act as though Europe ends at Poland’s border goes beyond self delusion and looks more like willful self-harm.

My thought about Brexit on reading what b has posted, (myself not being anywhere near so strictly from the outside), was that these are the current problems with staying in the EU. Russia would far rather deal with each country separately than in the EU at present, considering the attitudes of its leadership.
And speaking of Russia, OT to the above, but today is “Little Easter” an important feast ending the cycle of yearly feasts in the Old Orthodox Calendar. All Russian Orthodox will be celebrating this, the feast of Dormition of the Holy Theotokos (Mother of God). It is a feast which highlights differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy as regards how Mary is viewed, as can be seen in the icon of the feast.

Case in point:

Free speech and the presumption of innocence are gone.

What does Melania speaking 5 languages have to do with or contradict what LoveDonbass said here? How is he ignorant and why do you have call him a f*cknut like we’re on the schoolyard and he just said something about your crush. Can we try and control our anger and stick to intelligent discussions and leave ignorant insults out of it? Like I said today it’s is just a few, but sometimes it’s every other comment is a personal attack on others in the bar loaded with insults. It’s tiring.

Yep. I’m a Global Warming alarmist too, along with David Attenborough.
His Frozen Planet II series makes my hair stand on end.
And aside from that, there have never been as many serious flooding events on several continents, simultaneously.
Imo we’ve already crossed the threshold to Runaway Greenhouse Syndrome.

The first comment by a MAGA, “This is what I voted for!” Clearly a BRAWNDO drinker.
Yes, the military being used on American streets (posse comitatus much?). What could go wrong?
The Zionification of America continues.
Alligator Alacatraz, military on the streets, federalizing DC.
People will cheer for their enslavement. Who am I to tell them that they are wrong?

In a fight between the US and Venezeula, I pick Venezeula. The US has zero fucking a ability to pull off a amphibious invasion. This is as Maduro said, gunboat diplomacy, and attempt to intimidate and predictably (unless you’re deeply stupid) this is having the opposite effect of unifying opposition. Its almost like the psychological principle of the other is a reliably mediating force in all internal group conflict.
No the Yankees will talk a lot of shit, potentially drop some bombs and fuck off home. This is the ‘plan’, something like:
1. Fuck around with Venezuela
2. ????
3. Profit!
Real back of napkin like everything that comes out of Western strategists these days.

ZH has a posting up with the title
China Rejects Trump’s Proposal For Nuclear Disarmament Talks With US, Russia
quote

China has poured cold water on President Donald Trump’s suggestion that it join the United States and Russia in talks to downsize their nuclear arsenals, dismissing the idea as unrealistic.
The Chinese regime rejected the proposal on Aug. 27, two days after Trump told reporters that Washington and Moscow were discussing ways to reduce the number of nuclear weapons and that he hoped Beijing would also take part.
Foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun signaled at a press conference that China won’t join the disarmament negotiations, adding that the primary responsibility lies with the United States.
Trump raised the subject earlier this week while fielding questions in the Oval Office alongside South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
Trump said nuclear arms control had been discussed at his Aug. 15 summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, and that he wanted China brought into the process.

China has nothing near the numbers of nukes that the US and Russia have….and how many does Occupied Palestine have?
