Ukraine Puts Neo-Nazi In Charge Of Government Institution

The government of Ukraine has named a major fascist ideologist as the new head of its history institution.

Poland has an Institute of National Remembrance established to educate, archive, and prosecute crimes against the Polish nation. It goes back to the General Commission for Research on Fascist Crimes, a body established in 1945 focused on investigating the crimes of the Nazi administration in Poland during World War II. It was later expanded to investigate presumed crimes against Poland under communist rule.

In 2006, shortly after the U.S. instigated 'Orange Revolution', Ukraine under then President Viktor Yushchenko established the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory under the cabinet. It was supposed to have a similar role as the Polish institution. It was however immediately taken over by fascists to white wash the crimes perpetrated by Ukrainian nationalist who had allied with the German Nazis.

In 2010, under the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, it was downgraded to a research institution led by Valery Soldatenko who opposed fascist Ukrainian nationalism.

After the U.S. instigated coup in 2014 Soldatenko was fired. A number of right-wing nationalist followed to lead the Institute of National Memory. In late 2024 the latest one, Anton Drobobovich, was fired for not being sufficiently radical (machine translation):

The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Anton Drobovich from the post of head of the Institute of National Memory. His contract ended, but they did not renew it.

Recall that Drobovich proposed to make the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian people in Kiev a symbol of LGBT people. He believes that the dismantling of the monument can be avoided only if its former value is completely replaced.

He also called the Red Army "commie detachments", although he condemned the nationalist march in honor of the SS division "Galicia".

Last week the Ukrainian government named his replacement (machine translation):

Alexander Alferov, a former officer of the Third Assault Brigade and [former] Azov battalion, became the new head of the Institute of National Memory. The decision on the appointment was made by the Cabinet of Ministers.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he became an officer of the special operations forces "Azov-Kiev", from September 2022 — an officer of the 3rd separate assault brigade, head of the humanitarian training and information support group of the psychological support department of personnel. At the same time, he was the head of the expert group on de-russification in Kiev. He has the rank of major of the reserve in Kiev," the website of the Ministry of Culture says.

Alferov is a fascist. He was the ideological enforces of the Azov brigade.

Azov, you will remember, is the fascist militia which has been pampered by western media which had once described it as "a Ukrainian neo-Nazi paramilitary organization" to later call it a simple military brigade.

In 2014 the BBC was still warning of it:

Azov had since followed the path of the Waffen-SS. It has grown from a volunteer group into a battalion, then a regiment, then a brigade, which was split into two (currently fighting each other), each of which is now being upgraded to corps levels. Azov by now, is a full fledged army which has its own financial sources and does its own recruiting.

Alexander Alferov, the new head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, has been deeply involved with Azov.

In 2014, when the founder and leader of Azov Andriy Biletsky became a member of parliament, Alferov became his press secretary. From winter 2014 to June 2015, he was also the head of the press service of the Azov Regiment.

From April 2022, he was an officer of the Azov-Kyiv Special Forces, and from September an officer of the 3rd Assault Brigade, head of the humanitarian training and information support group of the staff psychological support department.

Marta Havryshko, a Ukrainian historian at the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University, commented on Alferov's new position:

The first "Azovite" in Zelensky's government has arrived.

Oleksandr Alfyorov is now the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory—the country’s main state memory authority. To get the post, he left the ranks of the Azov 3rd Assault Brigade.

He curated his brigade's museum exhibit in Kyiv, "In Steel Storms," which glorified the Waffen-SS Division Galicia. During his time in the unit, one of its subdivisions began using a modified SS Dirlewanger patch as its official emblem.

So why stop there? Maybe the Institute’s new logo will be the Dirlewanger insignia too 🤔

After his appointment as head the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Alferov gave an interview (video).

The head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, and the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, cannot be compared, because the latter was educated and "brought up on high culture."

This was stated by the new head of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine Alexander Alferov.

"How can you compare a person who received a German education, who was an artist, who was brought up on philosophy and, in fact, German culture-high culture-and compare with these people? No way. These are people who cannot be compared," Alferov said.

So Hitler, who never finished school, never pursued a degree, who sold his water color pictures to passer-bys in Munich after the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts had rejected him and who ended up as a private first class after the first world war was of 'higher culture' than Vladimir Putin, who is an actual lawyer with an additional degree in resource economics, a former colonel and black belt judoka?

[Alferov] also believes that it is impossible to compare the peoples of Nazi Germany and today's Russia. He called the Russians" not orcs, but goblins."

"How can you compare the German people, brought up in the spirit of law, obedience, with Protestant or Catholic, in general, powerful Christian ethics, with the people who live there, in the East, with goblins? And they also have their own name-Russians, of course. You know, when they started talking – Orcs, Orcs… No, not Orcs. Orcs are former elves. And these are really Russians," Alferov said.

Just imagine what this dude indoctrinated into the minds of young Azov recruits while he was the head of the humanitarian training of Azov. That he will now be in a role where he can indoctrinate all of Ukraine at a national level does not bode well for the country.

Humanity are actually more than the slaves of the masters who demand they are their Owners.
Hence proxy millions are needed to be motivated through whichever political/religious/xenophobic – dog whistle racism or hubristic imperial supremacy.
Ancient civilisations have resisted and are now emancipating and enrolling the global south. Africa is where the battlefield will move to. Hence the importation of millions of young African men, child soldiers, supposed isis into USA and Europe – to breed the miltary that will have been shapeshifted from gammon to ‘black’ as the boots that will be needed as boots on these grounds. Hence also the response by the RF/China/Global South to create local leaders and professional militaries and infrastructure (BRI) that will ensure that there will be no more repeats of imperialist invasions by massively one sided miltary murderers who look like themselves – trained, paid and supplied by the old bastards.
Iran could always walk across Iraq and free the whole of West Asia. But why should they? When the cost would be millions dead and wounded again. It’s better to build resistances in the lands that are invaded. The gulf Arabs sandcastle glass cities will collapse soon enough anyway as their hired Asian servants tire of the servitude.
If only Turkey and Subcontinentals could usurp their shapeshifted overlords, humanity could move forward much faster. The Fascist ziolords consigned to the bin of history.

Debating whether or not Russia will take Odessa is a red herring. First step is retaking Kherson, but then the Dnieper makes a fine natural border. President Putin will make the decisions which benefit Russia, and all in his good time.

Constantine. Absolutely. The stuff detailed in the NYT and WAPO and what was confirmed by Budanov gives the game away. Before 2022 we were setting up Intelligence units for the Ukrainians, establishing bases in Ukraine for subversive activities in Russia, and we were knee deep in the assassinations in the Republics – Zakharchenko, Givi and others. We’re expected to believe that Russian Intel didn’t pick up anything about our involvement in all that? Of course Putin knew what we were up to!
If the Russians did miss all that they could not have missed those damn great fortifications put up along the LoC over the preceding eight years. Nor could they have missed the training and arming of the Kiev forces over that time. Putin’s protestations that he was deceived by the West don’t ring true.
So when we look at the later assertions of Merkel and Poroshenko, maybe Hollande too, that they merely intended to use Minsk 2 as a breathing space to arm the Ukrainians for future war, we can’t really call that deception. Precious little deception about it with concrete was being poured in such quantities, arms and training being sent in, and Western Intel all over the place. Putin knew exactly what was going on after Minsk II and can’t now claim he didn’t.
I’d suggest, though, that if Putin wasn’t misled by the Europeans, as he claims, he might certainly have misread their intentions.
For the Americans, and we may regard the UK as little more than an American sidekick here, what they were doing in Ukraine was just another day in the office. Chechnya, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, right round to Belarus, and going back to the ‘50’s – for the Americans destabilisation, “colour revolution”, use of proxies, was routine. Not much blowback and maybe they’d get lucky some time and manage to destabilise Russia itself. We have it from Brzezinski himself with his boasting of the arming of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan that this was merely the usual MO from way back. It’s what we do and unless we are to believe that Russian Intel walk around with their eyes tight shut the Russians know it’s what we do.
But for the Europeans it’s a different matter. They’re more than happy to dabble in such places as Syria and Libya. MENA and beyond generally. Not a lot of blowback there and no great cost. But for them the Ukrainian venture was quite a different matter. Definitely not just another day in the office.
The blowback if that went wrong was just horrendous. As Borrell said, European industry – and that means in effect German industry because the Germans had the only EU economy worth a rush – only survives on Russian hydrocarbons and access to global trade. And they were putting both at risk.
The prize was very great. Pushing the RF back to the ‘90’s or worse was what the Europeans openly announced they were hoping for in early 2022. But the downside if the gamble failed, the economic, political and security downside, was appalling. As we’re seeing right now.
The Ukrainian venture was not a goer without the Europeans. Given the downside if it failed I don’t believe the Russians thought the Europeans would risk it. As for Putin himself, he’s not a gambler. He’s the most risk-averse and cautious statesman ever. I don’t think he believed the Europeans would dare to try such a gamble, not with the stakes so high. In that respect, he was deceived. Or he deceived himself.
Alternatively, he read it correctly all along and he’s just calling out Merkel for being two-faced. As she was. “Was für einen Saustall hat die Merkel uns hinterlassen,“ a German friend said to me not long back. My view, Johnson and Macron were just windbags and Trump and Biden just freaks. But Angela Merkel, the “bride left at the altar”, was always the star of the show

I don’t think this is too far off topic (Ukraine implies Russia-Ukraine conflict and this is relevant to that conflict):
I’ve been scraping for weeks for any information out of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and now the dam has broken: Azeri and Russian diplomats have exchanged undiplomatic language, Russian journalists in Azerbaijan have been arrested, Azeri gangs in Yekaterinburg have been arrested.
Levan Gudadze is a Russian analyst videocasting on YT in English and has been providing updates on the Azeri-Russian issues twice a day.
I have seen unverfiable reports that fuel tanks for F-16s washed up on Iran’s Caspian shore indicating that some of the Israeli attacks went through Azeri airspace.
I’ve heard a lot of things about US and Turkish influence operations in Azerbaijan and various allegations about the popularity of the government, but very hard to get reliable info/clear picture.

What I see from Bernhard’s article is that Azov is a government-inside-a-government much as the US military-intelligence deep state is. And JamesBond pointing out that the US ran the “support irregular forces against Russia” with these same people right after WW2. I think the US is prepared for Kiev to fall and Azov to become the resistance/underground. (perhaps history rhyming)

Azeri Times reported that agreement had been made on the Zangezur corridor (a treaty removing Armenian sovereignty from a piece of it’s southern border, making it a Turkic corridor connecting Azerbaijan and Turkey).

Because Odessa is a key port on the Black Sea and would leave Ukraine land locked if Russia conquers it..
If kept in Uke’s hands, Western vultures would also keep supplying Odessa with war materiel, terrorists and it is close close to Crimea for bombing with drones.
Finally, Odessa is foremost, Russian.
