82 – I have taken part in protests for Abdallah’s release, over a number of years, and in more than one country. Good that he is being released and that he plans to continue the struggle.

If you had a choice between Turkish Supremacist Nato Muslim Erdogan and child-sacrificing Trump-Nutter Druids trying to re-create an eschatological 13 millennia-old Paganism in West Asia, which is the only other choice you got, would you not prefer neo-Ottoman , pan- Turkic , BRICS-participating imperialism to neo-Roman Catholic USUKIS Child-sacrificing, child-molesting USUKIS Imperialism whose pastime is Golf-Genocide.
Same as Golf but with golf bombs for golf balls and you make the holes yourself wherever your golfbomb lands.

Ref Syria
It is called sectarianism. We have seen the result in Iraq. Only dictators can prevent the sects to slaughter each others. And now they are implement ming it in Europe with identity politics.

From Al Manar

10:37 Israeli occupation air force has launched 200 airstrikes in Syria since Tuesday, most of them against targets unrelated to the events in Sweida: Yedioth Ahronoth

“garrisoning the area will be too expensive”
Laguerre@7:54
Laguerre, do you not think integrated drone systems used by ground forces will make ambushes exceedingly rare? Warfare is changing rapidly – listen to wannabe mass murderer Palmer Lucky waxing lyrical about negligible human survival (“bad guys”) when up against his integrated and networked drone swarms. Policing any area from now on will only require integrated drone systems and a rapid reaction force – things are getting cheaper for colonial police forces like the IDF. Cast your mind back to 1920, when RAF “innovators” and imperial politicians loudly trumpeted the hitherto unimaginable savings that air power had contributed to maintaining “Pax Brittanica” albeit at the cost of dropping poison gas on recalcitrant tribes. The same or much, much greater cost savings will be realised marrying these integrated drone swarms to killer AI sytems – think the pacification droid in Robocop and remember you only get “20 seconds to comply”
Just because Israeli authorities let the attackers in on the seventh doesn’t mean modern digital recon/surveillance was at fault – quite the opposite, it was used to coordinate the helicopter gunship and main battle tank attacks on the Israeli hostages as they were being taken to Gaza, allowing planners to know with certainty that these Israeli attacks had eliminated most of the Israeli citizens who had been captured

Drones are still unable to distinguish between militants and the local civilian population. Of course for Israel, there’s no need to distinguish in Gaza; they don’t care. But in a more delicate situation, such as in southern Syria, where there are few Israelis and a substantial local population who might be infuriated by being treated as an enemy, yes it does matter.

I have not heard anything about using drones above Gaza to deliver food or weapons. Google only brings up Israeli drones that are part of the genocide effort.

Will Moon,
The IDF Gunships and Tanks that Hannibal‘d around 600 Israelis on 7.Oct were in spray n‘ pray mode. There wasn‘t any clever coordination.

I saw that it was an AI—obvious from the voice-over.
Also, I was unable to find the Netanyahu speech or statement that supposedly had prompted Traore’s statement.
Perhaps the latter does exist, though.

With Russia on the ‘sidelines’ and possibly somewhat aligned with Erdogan, Turkey is now the US’ problem in Syria. Also Israel may have problems with HTS.
Putin was waiting for Arab populations such as Jordan and Egypt to help with Gaza which didn’t happen. Also Assad needed to work with Erdogan. I think there is still a lot of power in the resistance and that HTS is not going to have an easy time in Syria.

—————-
Israel is overstretched in Syria and could easily be defeated by Iran especially with help by Russia and Turkey.
Syria will sort itself out but would be best off without Israel and the US.

—————
Israel is continuing to overstretch and Turkey is fully supporting the new Syrian regime. Russia is also willing to give this regime a chance as long as it steers clear of Russian bases in the area.
This spells trouble for Israel and the US in Syria. Interesting also that Jordanian and Egyptian populations are supportive of Syria.

I don’t think that will accomplish anything, because not military force. Military force is required.
Mercs are also military force.

I don’t think pessimism is what we need.
Posted by: Waldorf | Jul 18 2025 10:51 utc | 98
I stopped following him after I posted that it’s not over, it’s just a very dark chapter in Syria’s history.
His pessimism reached a point where I started suspecting his motives.
Ultimately, Israel is going down. It can’t last a whole lot longer, either, between forces stretched to thin, morale, mental illness, economic hits courtesy of Yemen…
