The US (and EU) is quite involved in Morocco, regarding western Sahara and via military ties. As Alawi he still holds religious standing, might be considered as taking the route Assad rejected …with reforms that were concession to the west and Berber, but maintaining a strong disuasive security presence.

He allows protests, but for sure there will be discontent…so far no country has seen its rulers overthrown due to support for west/”Israel” , or for related ruler business/money arrangements.
I don’t know, politics is mirrors and one theme can be used to overthrow existing rule only to introduce something completely unrelated, or simply to degrade a country. So I think populations are cautious now, they know things are not as obvious as they appear and do not want to risk losing what they have achieved so far.
Even in the west. We tend to take our circumstance as a final peace amongst western nations, but current events might make people wonder if really the last three quarters of a century will be just turned into a ceasefire that can be ended without further explanation (as per US and “Israel” in Gaza).
When war comes, few are prepared or understand what is occuring.
Not saying much with all of that, but the difference between ‘deserving to be toppled’ and what actually goes on, can be large.

When you throw a coin in the Fontana di Trevi you only express the desire to be back to Rome, fountain is not some kind of deiti you pray for whatever.
And, by the way, when you throw the coin, you do so facing away from the monument, using your right hand and throwing over your left shoulder.
A more complex ‘tradition’ states that if you throw a second coin you will find love in Rome, and a third coin will result in your wedding taking place in Rome.
