Epstein – A ‘Bawdy’ Diversion

The media, and Donald Trump, have found the great summer diversion of 2025.

The Wall Street Journal reports (archived):

It was Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday, and Ghislaine Maxwell was preparing a special gift to mark the occasion. She turned to Epstein’s family and friends. One of them was Donald Trump.

Maxwell collected letters from Trump and dozens of Epstein’s other associates for a 2003 birthday album, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The letter bearing Trump’s name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy—like others in the album. It contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker. A pair of small arcs denotes the woman’s breasts, and the future president’s signature is a squiggly “Donald” below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.

The letter concludes: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

In an interview with the Journal on Tuesday evening, Trump denied writing the letter or drawing the picture. “This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he said.

“I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women,” he said. “It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

He told the Journal he was preparing to file a lawsuit if it published an article. “I’m gonna sue The Wall Street Journal just like I sued everyone else,” he said.

And suing he will:

Trump said he had personally warned the Journal’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, and its editor in chief, Emma Tucker, that the letter was “fake” before the report was published, calling the story “false, malicious, and defamatory.”

“President Trump has already beaten George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 Minutes/CBS, and others, and looks forward to suing and holding accountable the once great Wall Street Journal,” Trump wrote on social media hours after the Journal published its report.

In the immediate wake of the report’s publication, the White House rushed to decry it as false. Vice President JD Vance said on X it was “complete and utter bullshit” — echoing the expletive Trump used this week to describe the Epstein news cycle. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt — whom Trump said had also told Tucker the story was “fake” — called it a “hatchet job article” and claimed the outlet “refused to show us the letter and conceded they don’t even have it in their possession when we asked them to verify the alleged document.”

Trump's denials are so strong that I believe the letter is his.

Not that it matters.

I doubt that there is a large file about whatever Epstein has done. If there ever was such it has by now been destroyed by the powers and services involved in it.

Ghislaine Maxwell is currently sitting in jail for trafficking teenage girls under the legal age to have sex with Epstein. There is no hard evidence (but their well payed-off assertions) that these girls were pushed to have sex with other people. There is no hard evidence that Epstein was blackmailing those people.

It seem likely though that both has been the case.

However neither has anything to do with a letter Trump wrote (or maybe didn't write?) in 2003.

It is just entertaining fun to divert the people from all the other bad stuff the U.S., under Trump, is currently – domestically and internationally – actually doing.

Comments

A big nothing burger. The Trump administration is trying to divert its base from the Epstein scandal but the way they are handling it adds oil to the fire. The base is not happy.
Trump is the new Streisand.

This letter, real or not, is a Strawman planted by CIA. This same technique was used to get Dubya out of his “Cocaine Addicted dismissal from the Texas ANG” Media Crisis. Remember the damning letter was in the “wrong font”, and that was used to discredit the entire issue, and Dan Rather, in the ensuing pushback.

So Pam Bondi – Trumps in the pocket judge will have the final say on what’s released – Trump has countered his critics on not releasing info on the list of those who were on the Lolita Flights by claiming he’ll release more info – I doubt any significant info will be released and Bondi will make sure Trump’s name isn’t released infact I doubt any names will be released, maybe a scapegoat or two – Nah, I doubt it.

Once again, people look at the finger and not the moon the finger points to. The story is not the dirt in the files but the Entity that manufactured and curated the dirt.
It is of far less importance who are in the Epstein files than the question of who compiled the data in these files and has been using it for blackmail and political extortion. The client list undoubtedly consists of people of poor moral character and criminals, but that this data was used by this “Entity” to control these powerful people for its own purpose for decades is the real story.
If Trump is on the list – well, surprise! surprise! to anyone who thought he was Mother Theresa. That Trump is a danger to the Entity and is now being threatened by the Entity for what dirt they have on him is the real story.
I for one am behind Trump to expose the Entity and to destroy its blackmailing power by exposing it. Or in the alternative, to use the threat of releasing the list against the Entity itself.
Perhaps Trump is doing that already. Who knows.

You said it. Every msm figure fluffing this story supports: IDF terrorism, ICE terrorism, war on Russia, war on Iran, war on N Korea, war on Venezuela, war on Cuba, war on Somalia, war on Sudan, and the war on drugs. And the headchoppers in Syria. And spreading nuclear weapons.

Two of several redacted quotations:
“The saga of pedophile procurer to the rich and famous Jeffrey Epstein continues to enthrall, even if the Department of Justice appears to have no interest in learning the details of what appears to be a major Israeli spy operation.
There have been a number of new developments in the past several weeks, confirming that Epstein had been a longtime Israeli intelligence asset targeting prominent Americans while also suggesting that he was murdered in his prison cell in New York rather than a suicide…
former Israeli intelligence officer has written a book describing how Epstein and his partner in crime Ghislaine Maxwell were blackmailing prominent politicians on behalf of Israel’s foreign intelligence service. According to Ari Ben-Menashe, the two had been working directly for the Israeli government since the 1980s and their operation, which was funded by Mossad and also by prominent American Jews, was a classic “honey-trap” which used underage girls as bait to attract well-known politicians from around the world, a list that included Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton. The politicians would then be photographed and video recorded when they were in bed with the girls.
Ben-Menashe’s soon-to-be-released book Epstein: Dead Men Tell No Tales describes how Epstein was introduced to Maxwell originally by her father, Robert, a Czech-born British media tycoon, who was also a long-term Israeli agent.
After his death, he was given a state funeral by Israel in which six serving and former heads of Israeli intelligence listened while Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir eulogized: “He has done more for Israel than can today be said.” Ben-Menashe was Robert Maxwell’s agent handler, meaning that he was the government intelligence officer who actually met with the high-level spy.
Through Maxwell, Epstein also met prominent Israelis, including Ehud Barak, prime minister from 1999-2001, who had a business relationship with the American financier and occasionally visited the Epstein mansion in New York City.

———————
An FBI special agent testified to a New York court in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial on Monday that evidence “went missing” from Jeffrey Epstein’s New York townhouse while authorities were waiting on a warrant. Special Agent Kelly Maguire recalled how CDs and other items were recovered by the FBI from a locked safe during an initial search of the Manhattan home on July 6 and July 7, 2019, after Epstein’s arrest on sex assault charges. The FBI agent said officers broke open the safe with a saw, finding the CDs, jewellery, computer hard drives, “loose diamonds”, passports and “large amounts of US currency.” They took photographs of the items, but left them at the residence as they did not have the warrant to remove them. When they returned four days later, on July 11, they were no longer there. Agent Maguire, a member of an FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, said she then called Richard Kahn, Epstein’s lawyer who now serves as the executor of the later financier’s estate, to ask what happened to the items.

People keep forgetting that it was Trump who first pushed Epstein into the national spotlight – in particular, because of Bill Clinton’s numerous trips on Epstein’s “Lolita Express”.
If the best scoop that the MSM and the intel agencies and the “dirty laundry” oppo paid for by the Democrats can find is this letter – meh.
I do agree with Baris, Bannon and many others that Trump’s handling of the Epstein info has been clumsy and poorly thought out; Baris’ view that a significant number of the “low prop” (low propensity) voters who voted for Trump – many of whom have never voted or only voted once in their entire lives.
Baris also notes that a lot of the black men and Latinos who voted for Trump, voted because they hoped and believed that he would hold elites accountable to the same laws as everyone else. As such, the big noise about publishing the Epstein list followed by this sad and pathetic effort to backtrack – whether for “good” reasons or not – only reinforces these people’s notions that elite privilege – two track law – one for elites and another for everyone else, is real.
Barnes noted that there are so many ways to have handled this better even if there are “good” reasons: slow walk it for a couple of years (the UK way), focus all talk on the positives that have happened since POTUS 47 started (falling food prices, deportations, peeling back woke/DEI, etc etc) rather than blindly respond to MSM questions (and therefore agenda) on Trump’s numerous press contacts.
Baris has noted that because of the structural shift in voter bases – the Democrats are always going to be well positioned in the always lower turnout midterm elections. His view is that losing this slice of the voters who gave Trump the first absolute voter majority by a Republican in multiple decades, is going to cost the Republicans and Trump’s present House+Senate support, the ability to pass legislation that he now enjoys. I think this is probably true although the fecklessness of the RNCC very likely would have done that anyway in the House.
We will see how it goes. Trump is clearly betting on the economy offsetting everything else – I think his red line for the neocons and their foreign policy quid pro quo, is a protracted war.
Trump has still not pushed for massive arms and money shipments to Ukraine; every effort to flatter him/threaten him to do so has failed to date. The maneuvering around “anti Russia” tariffs as sanctions is also inconsistent with the view that Trump is just doing whatever the neocons want; Trump is clearly trying to preempt the Graham/Blumenthal Senate bill.
Trump has also clearly not wanted to get the US into a protracted conflict with Iran – another neocon core objective.

Here’s a comment I wrote about the birthday card about 12 hours ago

What I’m noticing today, as the mockingbirds continue to choral epsteinfiles-epsteinfiles-epsteinfiles…. is the 3LAs (or whoever whatever) are doing a narrative-cavalry charge to the rescue.
Right now, Guys on the Internet, are posting in (mock) “outrage” and pearl-clutching vapors about some bawdy birthday card Trump (allegedly) sent to Epstein for his 50th birthday.
🤭😳Trump *drew* a pic of a (gasp) naked woman, and said something cryptic…..
I’ll let Juliania neither confirm nor deny, if she so chooses, but I’m stating that *everyone* had family/ friends/ work pals who sent risqué, rude and borderline obscene cards and comments for a “significant” birthday….
That the discourse today is *not* about the billions in dodgy deals – that should have piqued the interest of the SEC- by Bear Sterns, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan and others (many others), but a damn *birthday card* with smutty innuendo…. Smacks to me of 3LA narrative control…..
Telling people to STFU about Epstein failed (doh!🤪) so, let’s get everyone talking about a bawdy birthday card (quelle horreur)

I wonder why anybody has ever believed that a being in list of names would ever incriminate anyone? Having been Epstein’s acquaintance or his guest hasn’t been and isn’t any crime. Such a file if presented would mean absolutely nothing. Even if it had a header reading :”List of persons to whom I have trafficked highly illegal activities specified herein”, it would mean nothing. Clearly it would be libelous and actionable to the highest degree.
Only a personal and sworn testimony on such a list would weight anything.

Speaking of competence in the Oval Office, here’s Trump at the AI conference on Wednesday of this week: “My uncle was at MIT, one of the great professors. Longest-serving professor in the history of M.I.T., 51 years whatever…Three degrees in nuclear, chemical and math. Kaczynski was one of his students. Seriously good. Do you know who that is? There is very little difference between a mad man and a genius.” Trump said his uncle told him all about Ted K. In his own case, the gap between genius and madman seems pretty wide. Trump’s uncle wasn’t the longest service professor at MIT. He held a Phd in electrical engineering (none in chemical, nuclear or math), his uncle couldn’t have told Trump all about his prodigal student because John Trump died 11 years before Kaczynski became a household name and, more definitively, Ted Kaczynski didn’t study under Trump’s uncle. The Unabomber, like so many other famous bombers, went to Harvard.

Comments from the internet:
Contained within the Epstein court filings is a land mine… linking Epstein and JPMorgan to the GFC.
At Bear Sterns Epstein “Pioneered” CDOs…
And, while the bailout was being handed out in 2008, Epstein was texting and emaling the CEOs of JP Morgan and the largest financial institutions on the planet. At one point he brags about pulling in over 44 BILLION in tax payer bailout cash in just two weeks.
>… CEO of JP Morgan also brags about the 44 billion dollars in bailout cash, while WAMU goes under, and they buy it up for pennies on the dollar.
At Bear Sterns, Epstein was the president of Liquid Funding Ltd between 2000 and 2007. The company was an early pioneer of CDOs
https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/nodes/82004676
From at least 2000 to 2007, Epstein chaired a company registered in Bermuda called Liquid Funding Ltd. This entity was partially owned by the investment bank Bear Stearns, where Epstein had worked, according to the report.
The bank’s collapse would help set in motion the 2008 financial crisis.
Epstein’s offshore company was loaded up with some of the financial products — like mortgage-backed securities and collateralized loan obligations — that would become synonymous with the financial excesses leading to the financial crisis.
According to the Miami Herald and McClatchy, Liquid Funding had commercial mortgages and investment-grade residential mortgages bundled into complex securities.
“The three main credit rating agencies — Standard & Poor’s, Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service — all helped Bear Stearns create the securities in a way that would allow the creative product to get a gold-plated AAA rating,” the Miami Herald and McClatchy reported.
Epstein was the president of the company Liquid Funding Ltd. between 2000 and 2007.[64][65] The company was an early pioneer in expanding the kind of debt that could be accepted on repurchase, or the repo market, which involves a lender giving money to a borrower in
Liquid Funding Ltd., which was initially 40 percent owned by the Wall Street investment bank Bear Stearns.”

50-Day Ultimatum… Coincidence or Calculation?
.
September 3: Not just the hour when the ash fires blaze…
Very interesting information from the influential British newspaper The Times: China reportedly considers the possibility of a trilateral summit in September with Xi Jinping, Putin, and Trump in Beijing.
The newspaper reports that a military parade is planned for September in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Putin has already confirmed his participation. At the same time, according to journalists, China and the US were allies against Japan during the war.
According to The Times, the Chinese authorities have not denied information from the Japanese news agency Kyodo that the decision to invite Trump has already been made. The parade itself will take place on September 3.
What’s particularly interesting about this? On September 3rd (!), the “50-day sanctions moratorium” Trump spoke of expires, and which many experts link to the conversation between Rubio and Lavrov that preceded the American president’s statement. The head of the State Department refused to comment on this to the press, except to say that “the Russians have received some new ideas.”
If the information about the joint participation of the three major heads of state and government in the parade is confirmed, the “50-day” hypothesis can be considered quite feasible.

And more:
In a startling contradiction to the Department of Justice’s recent claim that no “client list” exists in the Jeffrey Epstein case, famed attorney Alan Dershowitz—who represented Epstein during his legal battles—says he has seen the list and it includes prominent business leaders and high-ranking politicians.
Speaking publicly on the Sean Spicer podcast, Dershowitz stated, “There absolutely is a list. I’ve seen some of the names. These are people with massive influence—politicians, billionaires, individuals who can pull levers most Americans don’t even know exist.”

Mark Dankof:

I’m a legitimately “America First” GOP voter who hasn’t yet decided whether writing a letter to you is as big a waste of time as voting for you.
You have lied to the American public on the Russian-Ukrainian war. Instead of acknowledging that the United States had no business engaging in a coup d’etat in Kiev in February of 2014 and continuing the illegitimate policy of expanding NATO to encircle Russia, your latest decision to arm Zelensky further has now made Mr. Biden’s War, Mr. Trump’s War. Apparently no one has informed you that Mr. Putin and the Russians have already won this conflict and have decided after the Minsk and Istanbul negotiation frauds, the Nord Stream pipeline bombing, and the Dugina Assassination among others, that acquiescence to your game playing is not going to happen. The only question remaining is whether or not the entirety of Ukraine is going to be destroyed and annexed by Russia with remaining Ukrainians confined to residence in a blue-and-yellow flag cemetery not of their choice. Your policy pivots only prolong the possibility of direct American military involvement in a war the United States cannot win for reasons not related at all to the national security of this country.
Secondly, your continued pursuit of a Middle Eastern foreign policy under the direction of Benjamin Netanyahu, AIPAC, the Republican Jewish Coalition, and a Defense Secretary linked to the Israeli Temple Mount Eschatological Crackpot Association has now led you to the idiotic and criminal decision to attack Iran.
The result? On top of your commissioned assassination of General Soleimani and American withdrawal from JCPOA in your first term, this second term military assault has resulted in Iranian withdrawal from the NPT, the booting of an Israeli-friendly IAEA out of Iran, and an understandable resolve on the part of the Iranians to avoid any further dialogue with the United States. The Mercouris-Christoforou video at the Duran on your Regime Change fiasco is worth your time.
Contrary to what you and Temple Mount Pete Hegseth claim, Iran is still in possession of its enriched uranium, centrifuges, and underground facilities capable of building the bomb they did not want to build, but undoubtedly will as a result of your recklessness and complete lack of good faith. [..]
Finally, there is the matter of the Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell Mossad Sex Trafficking and Blackmail operation and your Attorney General’s lying to the American public about the existence of the file and its undoubtedly damnable contents where the American Uniparty Political Elite is concerned. I’m sure Bill Clinton’s contributions to that file are the size of the New York City phone directory, as but one example.
But Mr. Clinton is no longer the President of the United States. You are. And your comments dismissing the ongoing significance of the Epstein file and the circumstances of his demise lead me to the same conclusion as Alexander Dugin: That one Donald Trump would be legally and politically exposed if the truth was released to the American public, and that the pressure being applied to your “balls” by Mr. Netanyahu, the Israeli intelligence community, and the Israeli Lobby via the Epstein Affair is most obvious in your absolutely evil policies related to the Iranians, Palestinians and Gazans.

Very well said!

Statistically improbable that Trump suddenly became a pedo at 70 years old. That would show long before.
More likely, the spooks needed a distraction for their wars in Yemen, Iran and Ukraine, plus they’re letting the pedo perps know that the blackmail is still active. Trump’s playing along with the spooks, which is a mistake.

The WSJ article was an opening shot albeit a weak one. If they can contain and use the Epstein scandal to bring down Trump the attacks will escalate. However they’re well aware that the larger scandal threatens the financial oligarchy with all the intelligence and elite ties.
Marx on the 1848 revolutions:
“Clashing at every moment with the bourgeois laws themselves, an unbridled assertion of unhealthy and dissolute appetites manifested itself, particularly at the top of bourgeois society—lusts wherein wealth derived from gambling naturally seeks its satisfaction, where pleasure becomes debauched, where money, filth and blood commingle. The finance aristocracy, in its mode of acquisition as well as in its pleasures, is nothing but the rebirth of the lumpenproletariat on the heights of bourgeois society.”

Epstein is dead. No one is asking why his documents are being held in secret by the FBI. They should be returned to Epstein’s estate, which should be able to do whatever they want with them.
The hard evidence against Trump is the testimony of the women who claim they were statutorily raped by Trump as a guest of Epstein.

It’s a mistake to think that anyone in power would be concerned about the well being of their victims, children, women, collateral carnage.
They would be concerned about the unraveling of financial crimes that set us on the road to right here.
you couldnt scrape together half a teaspoon of morality, compassion or justice within the corridors of power, and they arent the least concerned over the opinions of minions.
Every time someone mentions midterms or “the base”,

A bawdy diversion, b? I beg to differ! The Epstein case may only have cost a small number of lives so far (Epstein himself, the girl who spoke about Prince Andrew, etc.). But it has huge potential! The american masses are accustomed to being lied to all day long. But all those lies about far away lands have little impact. People in the USA cannot locate places like Gaza, Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan.
Whereas Epstein? He’s New York! He’s American! He’s got all those famous friends! The Epstein case is becoming the epitomy of all those things the MAGA crowd hate, not knowing who really is in charge, what really happened, what interests are being served, who is pulling the strings. But knowing in their guts they are being lied to and that evidence is being destroyed.
Who cares how real the Epstein story is at this stage? Possibly we’ll never know. The case cannot be closed, and that is driving people crazy. Expect MAGA crowds too boo Trump shortly. Expect Trump to handle the boos poorly. Beginning of the end in sight.

A different angle:
How broken a psyche does it take to enjoy sexually using a child? Dominating a child? Knowing that child has a dim chance of survival?
Lolita is the cover story you are fed. You are being force-fed Lolita and eating it up. You are being force-fed blackmail and eating it up.
This is about pathetic damaged men who were abused themselves as children and cannot cope with a sex partner older than a child. That is your elite. Those are your masters.
It is not a blackmail ring. It is a private club. Yes, Mossad gathered intelligence from the club. Easiest to do that when all are members-in-good-standing in your club.

My inclination had been that Trump (who I must admit I voted for), should be removed from his position for bombing of Gaza, Yemen and Iran and for continuing the support of the war in Ukraine and for blowing-up the US budget in support of the MIC and friends. All of which was counter to the platform on which he got elected as President – at least in spirit. From there things had taken a turn for the worse over the Epstein matter – it appeared that perhaps Trump had suffered a stroke and was now showing signs of erratic behavior (beyond what has become the norm).
Then when I here this bit, my thought is: Wait a minute – it’s a conspiracy.
Perhaps Musk will run Grok for President – we are out of viable human options.
Well, at this point it is clear that it would not matter who is elected, the whole process is completely corrupted.

In my defense, I should say that I only voted for Trump because Gabbard wasnt in the running and then Kennedy said he was joining the ticket and his supporters should vote for Trump.
I suspect that Trump is not guilty of the truly abhorrent aspects of this.
But his removal (if there is any hope for that) would be a positive step at this point.
And meanwhile Trump now has his Justice Dept going after Comey and Brennan – also good.
I must admit that Trump is very good at breaking sh#t.

What’s missing from b’s report here and the comments in general is what Trump has instructed Bondi to do. She is to apply to unseal the Grand Jury transcripts from 2019 (Trump’s first term), when the DOJ was presenting the outline of its case against Epstein in the secrecy integral to a grand jury proceeding.
If you want to understand the significance of this, read Jeff Childers this morning. He’s a lawyer, and he breaks down what’s actually happening on the ground – which is the only place you should ever look, and diligently ignore all the talk in the air.
Childers is a very good lawyer, and very pro-Trump, and very pro-Christ, and I say all this because to my great dismay I have seen that many intelligent people seem to fixate on the messenger and ignore the message. That won’t get you very far in your understanding, but Childers’s review might:

Childers presents us with mostly filler and then some thin gruel. The first half of the Substack article is about the idiotic WSJ and other media coverage, most specifically to the stupid “birthday sketch letter” nonsense. Nobody cares.
The latter half is a decent open-politics civics refresher course that ignores the parapolitics of federal grand jury selection (aka “rigging”) and skims over the contradictions inherent to grand juries since virtually the Magna Carta. All witnesses are sworn in under oath – BUT – all testimony is secret. So the question becomes, if someone lied, when does it come out and how is it treated? There are no defense cross examinations or defense lawyers present at all. Again, this is nothing secret or scandalous – and not particularly uniquely germane to the Epstein/Trump case – just a primer on how grand juries work.
OK, fine. Doesn’t take a “very good lawyer” to explain any of that.
So let’s get to the meat of it. And I’ll leave aside Childers’ known affinity for Trumpism and his general quasi-worship of Reaganite-Trump neoliberalism and security state pumping policies. But “Trump’s revenge”? The Biden administration packing the file with “red herrings” and fake incriminating evidence? For fuck’s sake – that’s “talk in the air” if I’ve ever seen it. No better than the ‘sketch letter’ that the WSJ may or may not have even seen. And far from “ignoring the messenger to focus on the message.” After all, why would someone plugging this ‘hot take’ bother to mention that Childers is very “pro-Trump and pro-Christ” if the messenger wasn’t part of the package we’re being pitched?
Trying to pass this off as Trump somehow outsmarting everyone ignores the quid pro quo. Who benefits at the end? If everything in the actual file has been corrupted or ladened with fake news and red herrings, who cares what’s in the (admitted by Childers) heavily redacted grand jury files other than the metadata used in the (as described by Childers) ‘best pitch’ that a prosecutor (chosen by whom, with allegiance to whom?) CHOSE TO present (in secret, aka a “black box”)?
Then there’s this nugget:

The Epstein case’s global scale, and its involvement with some of the world’s most well-known celebrities and top political figures, make it potentially the greatest scandal in human history. Nothing else comes close. Not Watergate, the Pentagon Papers, or even perhaps the Church Abuse Scandal. So it should surprise no one that the route to the truth looks like something from a “Family Circus” cartoon drawn by a schizophrenic whistleblower with an LSD-infused Sharpie.

Clearly this man does not understand the true reach of Watergate – had that ever been truly blown open, the US government – nay, the STATE – in it’s current tripartite form may have literally ceased to exist. Rather than a huge scandal, anyone who’s done the research knows that Watergate was probably the biggest limited hangout ever foisted on the American public, despite the massive waves and headlines at the time. Childers is either feigning ignorance in service to a preconceived political ideology/politician or he’s dumber than a box of bricks.

Lord Peter Mendelson. Gay. Riddle throughout the Epstein files. Would be hugely exposing if his close connection to Epstein and his work with JPMorgan Private Bank got public scrutiny.
Mendelson is now… UK ambassador to DC
“The current UK Ambassador to the United States is Lord Peter Mandelson, who took office on February 10, 2025.
Mendelson has held a range of senior positions in government under Prime Minister Tony Blair and later Gordon Brown.
He was First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills from 2008 to 2010*.{{{this is when he’s active with Epstein}}}
He was appointed to the House of Lords as a life peer in 2008, from which he has taken a period of indefinite leave.

I can’t for the life of me imagine any nation’s security service, upon having confiscated a well-curated and effective blackmail cache of internationally powerful and influential people, to rescind this newly acquired leverage, this resource, by releasing it to the general public or initiating legal proceedings. In my mind, it would always remain an asset to be used as initially intended, and if any of the implicated individuals were to face justice, it would have to come as a consequence of their own non-compliance. That part of the story, the expectation that the US government under Trump would torch this presumed den of vipers, has always seemed unrealistic to me. The most that could be expected, even from a morally upstanding organization, would be to quickly drain the implicated individuals of their usefulness, to utilize them comprehensively before granting them an unenviable end, though still pacing that process with care so as not to spook the rest of the herd.

The Age of Consent has not been static throughout history..
Benjamin Tucker* wrote on the subject re raising the Age of Consent:

Not content with getting the age of consent raised from ten to thirteen, a bevy of impertinent and prudish women went up to the Massachusetts State House the other day and asked that it be raised again,—this time to eighteen.
When a member of the legislative committee suggested that the age be placed at thirty-five, since the offence aimed at was as much a crime at thirty-five as at eighteen, the petitioners did not seem to be terrified of his logic. Evidently these ladies are not afraid that their consent will ever be asked at all.—Liberty, February 11, 1888

*Wikipedia: Benjamin Tucker was an American individualist, anarchist and self-identified socialist. Tucker was the editor and publisher of the American individualist anarchist periodical “Liberty”….

Allow me to more succinctly summarize my message, generally intended as a response to grieved’s comment in which the link to Jeff Childers’ article was posted.
The basic gist of it is that the 2019 (?) grand jury materials are, de juris and de facto, “sealed” and thus supposedly out of reach to any would-be meddlers (in this case the bumbling Democrats and their supporters). Unlike those materials, the FBI files (and whatever other agencies may have contributed), have allegedly been tampered with extensively thus sparking Trump’s recent “Democrat HOAX!” claims – which Childers so kindly and non-partisanly reminds us are in reference to said FBI archives. So the “big story” or “scoop” is that Trump and Bondi – in a move akin to 4-D political chess – have figured out that the FBI materials are heavily corrupted in such a manner as to maximally hurt Trump and his administration, and that this was done by the same political party and operatives (and their administrative state helpers) who couldn’t manage to put forth a campaign better than Hillary in 2016 or Kamala in 2024, and – unless one really wants to delve into Watergate and all that entails – have never successfully perpetrated a parapolitical move remotely on the scale that would be required to somehow uniquely implicate Trump in the Epstein files while somehow sparing or minimizing direct or collateral damage to their own stinkingly corrupt party.
TL/DR: It’s bullshit cooked up for the MAGA partisans like those in Childers’ usual audience. With respect to the man and lawyer, I would say he’s a good case for looking at what he doesn’t usually care to report on rather than what he does, especially in this case.

To put a different spin, or finer point, on the FBI files vs. grand jury matter, Trump – perhaps more than any recent president – has asserted full control over the various 3LAs through purges, effective loyalty oaths, alleged polygraphs, and ideological hires. If the FBI Epstein files had been seriously tampered with, not only would we not have only first heard about it via an angry off-the-cuff “Truth Social” post in broken English – and – one which came after MONTHS of promises to release those files which they ostensibly have had full control of for at least the last 6 months – but the full force of the new Trump-controlled DOJ and CIA would have been brought to bear to PROVE the tampering, to track down leakers or contaminators and missing or added “fake” files.
In short, this take is laughable unless “duh Democrats” or their controllers in the overworld and operatives in the unelected deep state – still maintain nearly maximal operational freedom within the new Trump government, and especially in his own DOJ and “intelligence” agencies.

Dude, this is nonsense. All they had to do was plant kiddie pron on Trump’s computers during the 4 years Biden was in the White House – or send someone other than a retarded 19 year old would-be assassin to do the job in Butler (or anywhere else for that matter). Trump has never led on that he opposes The City or Wall Street in theory or in practice – or in any way meaningful to actually reining in high finance corruption in the collective waste.
Trump was just as sElected as any previous President, but by slightly different factions of the overworld/elites. Any speculation that Trump is somehow uniquely different or opposed to these groups is on the order of the JFK apologetics crowd who actually have at least some receipts to back up the claims that maybe HE wanted to chart a meaningfully different course for the collective waste and humanity at large.

made of them (killing children, corrupting societies) in order to join Eurovision. The deal was that Jews would be safe from Nazis if they became Nazis; that they’d be included in whiteness if they beat up lesser hues. In fact they just doomed their grandchildren to be conscripts in imperial wars, to be unsafe forever in their stolen land, and despised all over the world. The fact that Jews (via ‘Israel’) are so public in this conspiracy shows that they’re the fall guys, not the beneficiaries. Why are we even talking about them? That’s a fail if you’re running a conspiracy!
The problem with Jews is their whiteness, not their Jewishness, but the White Empire is going to try to pin it all on them and move on. You can already hear the noises about ‘we’re controlled by a foreign country’ from the right, as if America wasn’t based on genociding and raping children since Christopher Columbus. As if they have anything to do with White Empire’s predations on Vietnam, or Korea, or the Americas themselves.
‘Israel’ is not real. It’s just a place White Empire deported Jews to divide and conquer the Middle East, that’s all. It’s certainly draws the most attention, but the tail does not wag the dog.

Click the link below to read Trump saying to Epstein, that we have one thing in common.
“WSJ: Jeffrey Epstein’s Friends Sent Him Bawdy Letters for a 50th Birthday Album. One Was From Donald Trump.
The leather-bound book was compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. The president says the letter ‘is a fake thing.’
The letter bearing Trump’s name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy—like others in the album. It contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker. A pair of small arcs denotes the woman’s breasts, and the future president’s signature is a squiggly “Donald” below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.”

The irony is that while Trump will lose a lot of soft support, his hardcore supporters will be more hardcore.
If the shooting in Butler, PA gave him credibility, the same thing will happen with this “Democrat hoax”.
People rally around the flag, even if the country and leadership are rotten. That is what happened with Pearl Harbor and 9/11.
People are tribal, and there are legions of right-wing Boomers who need their persecuted Prophet to rally around to avoid their complicity in sex abuse.
Trump has been expertly poisoning the well since his first campaign. “Fake News” can be applied to any news that he doesn’t like, and people will eat it up. Pete Hegseth does this regularly. Everything is fake news or an insidious Democrat plot when the Pentagon is questioned. The same thing happens at the State Department.
We see it at the bar with a couple of MAGAs who don’t discuss the substance of a topic and dismiss any dissenting opinion as “TDS”.
An inability to discuss rationally without name-calling.
Funny how the Right became the Left shouting “Racist!” and “Antisemite!” to shut discussion down.

Hmmm, interesting theory that Epstein is just an entertaining distraction, but I don’t buy it. The thing is it’s actually doing damage to him. It’s splintering MAGA, in other words, his base. Trump camoaigned hard on Epstein, promising to release the list and hanging the whole controversy around the Democrat’s neck. Now, there have been accounts of people burning their MAGA hats over it, and Trump even called people who aren’t taking his word on it “former MAGA.”
Trump’s strength isn’t in his relatively few “hardcore supporters” who will stick with him no matter what, it’s in the wider acceptance of his actions. Everything he has done that has support beyond his base has been a success for him, but this Epstein furor is a gross overstep. Burning political capital does not help him, and that’s exactly what he is doing.

I find it amusing to read B employing the same “logic” of the Salem witch trials. Drowning would prove the woman innocent of witchcraft but, if she survived [some did], she would be deemed guilty and publicly hanged as a witch. Nice eh? Or the the other option was burning a woman if she lived, [nobody did], then she was a witch who needed to be hanged. It is with this “logic” B concludes;”Trump’s denials are so strong that I believe the letter is his“. Have fun with this story B, you’ve done good work in the past but this “reasoning” makes the logic employed by the Spanish Inquisitions look positively enlightened.
Let me be clear, Trump-voters aren’t like Obama’s fawning crowd of DNC-sycophants, we call, we write, we express our disappointment over Epstein, Iran and other issues. We make it clear that out votes are at stake. Unlike Obama, who literally laughed off his voters, Susie Wiles’s staff takes our views seriously, she’s well aware that Trump’s coalition is filled with ex-Democrats who were disgusted by the DNC’s endless venality. Trump needs to keep his coalition together or Hillary’s band of Cheney-ites, the Jake Sullivans, the Antony Blinkens et al will be back to start more wars with Russia.
To remind the those TDSers here, the whole war in ex-ukraine was kept alive by paralyzing Trump with the tautology of Russia, RUSSIA, RUSSIA !!! There are now hundreds of thousands dead because the DNCs coalition of “left”/”Liberals” valued politics over peoples lives.
Yeah, Trump’ll sue and win, I’m sure the Wall Street has already calculated the settlement and just sees it as the cost of doing business and that business is advancing the interests of those who have raped the American-worker and peole around the world. The story is primarily designed to keep the Epstein story going because it’ll help depress Trump’s numbers with former-Democrat-voters and women, something the DNCs TDSers and the pseudo leftist/Liberals here will cheer.

Melaleuca @54: “The Age of Consent has not been static throughout history.”
The age at which people have achieved the mental maturity to make decisions for themselves has steadily increased over the years. In the 1970s it wasn’t until the age of around eighteen that people achieved the maturity of thirteen year olds from a century prior. This trend has continued to where recent generations don’t reach that level of maturity until their third or fourth or even fifth decade of life, and there are plenty of examples to be found of even older individuals who have failed to mentally flourished as adults. Millennials and later even have a term for the arduous task of elevating their mental and emotional development above that of a child: “adulting” they call it.
So you see, setting the age of consent at thirty-five wouldn’t be unreasonable today, and arguably that is where it should be. Just look at all of the infantilism among TDS victims in this discussion thread, and TDS victims represent a sizable portion of the US population. Can you imagines these individuals giving consent to sex, only to realize afterwards that sex with a dog isn’t what they thought it would be? They need to be protected from the emotional trauma from the consequences of their own bad decisions.

The funny thing with the TDS acronym is that it can be used indifferently to qualify the critics and the supporters of DJT. Each in his fanatic stance towards DJT.

In spite of what DNCers/TDS-suffers [but I repeat myself] jabber endlessly about 30-40% of Trump-voters are, at a practical, traditional level, left of the TDS/DNCers with the above poster being an example. This use of the term left is not to be confused with what passes for “left” or “liberal” today…which is nothing more than window-dressed-fascism. Does Trump have right-wing ding-dongs voting for him, sure, about 20-25% of coalition which is far fewer than Hillary had with the Cheney-ites.

The story is primarily designed to keep the Epstein story going because it’ll help depress Trump’s numbers with former-Democrat-voters and women, something the DNCs TDSers and the pseudo leftist/Liberals here will cheer.

Every person who opposes rape should oppose Trump who is obvious to anyone intelligent, is a rapist and has been a documented friend of rapists.
It’s hard for the MAGAs to take a moral stand against genocide, rape, or sexual slavery.

Epstein owned several houses. They must have been full of interesting documents.
He started as a nobody and became a rich man. There must but lots of interesting information about who helped him and for what reason.
Sure, there will be whitewashing and much evidence may have disappeared. But some things – like bank accounts and phone records – are not so easy to hide.
The Trump claim that there is nothing is just not credible. It may seem a diversion but it is the first thing where the glib Trump cannot talk himself out. And that can have major consequences.

Posted by: S Brennan | Jul 18 2025 18:42 utc | 75 There are some references to how Susie Wiles’ staff takes some unspecified people seriously. This is best understood as a claim to be an employee with insider information, but really the likely explanation is this person just makes stupid stuff up. But keep in mind this instrumental attitude to truth when reading this:

To remind those TDSers here, the whole war in ex-Ukraine was kept alive by paralyzing Trump with the tautology of Russia, RUSSIA, RUSSIA !!! There are now hundreds of thousands dead because the DNCs coalition of “left”/”Liberals” valued politics over people’s lives.

TDS is still witless guff.
There is no obvious sense in which either Ukraine or the war in Ukraine is co-called ex, which ever is meant by the shaky grammar. The war’s been going on since 2014, and still goes on.
Also puzzling is what tautology is meant. A tautology is saying the same thing in different words, such as “A sedative has dormative properties.” I’m sorry, Russia, RUSSIA, RUSSIA!! is one word.
Tautology or not, there is zero reason to say Trump was paralyzed. Clinton wasn’t paralyzed after impeachment failed nor was Trump. Trump successfully passed his tax cuts. It is up to Trump cultists to give evidence that wasn’t Trump’s priority.
Lastly as to the DNC’s supposed coalition of left-liberals killing hundreds of thousands of people. At a guess, this is supposed to mean the DNC started the war in Ukraine in 2022? Again, the war began in 2014. The DNC is not the central committe of an organized political party (much less a Leninist style party!) The Democratic Party is more of a brand, a franchise operation, investors welcome. But even if it were, the war in Ukraine has always, always had significant Republican Party support in Congress, in the military, in the think tanks, in the government bureaucracy, and much of it has been anything but left-liberal. The careless epithet, the so-called neo-con, whoever it is applied to, cannot honestly be hurled at a left-liberal.
It is not an accident that defending Trump requires such shameless dishonesty. Perhaps it would be charitable to assume gross mental incompetence, but I do not believe in Hanlon’s Razor. And I submit this same person’s following comment, @80

Does Trump have right-wing ding-dongs voting for him, sure, about 20-25% of coalition which is far fewer than Hillary had with the Cheney-ites.

There were no Cheney-ites campaigning for Clinton, who ran for President in 2016. There were some Republicans who campaigned for Trump over Ukraine ets. in the last election, 2024…But that was Harris. The abysmally low mental level is completely typical of Trump cultists. The few who superficially seem mentally competent are mostly master os weasel words,
also known as moving the goalposts. (An example from earlier in the thread, claiming Trump doesn’t want a protracted war with Iran, pretends economic warfare isn’t war, that Israel isn’t the mortal enemy of Iran and supporting Israel in Gaza, Syria and Lebanon, somehow aren’t protracted. None of the Trump cultists deserve any respect whatsoever.

Is this whole farce a symptom of the psychopathic elite turning on each other? Their dreams and schemes foundering on the brutal reality revealed by Russian, Yemeni and Iranian weapons capabilities, exposing the ignorance and stupidity of the much-vaunted “intelligence” services?
What is the point of Mossad if it didn’t have insight into hypersonic weapon developments? Not much point in blackmailing or compromising Western leaderships if the whole contrived edifice is vulnerable to un-interceptable incoming warheads.

Just as twice a day a broken clock is right on great occasion an Israeli nut job offers a reasonable suggestion:
Israeli Leaders Call For Syrian President’s Assassination
Tyler Durden Friday, Jul 18, 2025
Hardline and outspoken Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has called for Israel to “eliminate” Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, following the latest escalation in sectarian violence this week…Israel has been using the plight of the persecuted Druze minority in southern Syria as a pretext for expanding its military presence far beyond the occupied Golan Heights. Critics have accused Israeli leaders of ‘divide-and-conquer’ tactics, and have even allowed thousands of Druze who lived under occupied areas (in Israel) to breach the Golan border fence and flood back into Syria….The Syrian regime of Sharaa and his fanatical Sunni fighters of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham have stood accused of conducting entho-religious genocide, targeting Druze, Christians, and Alawites. This has been happening especially in the south this week…”

Our host seems to be giving boosts to all manner of Trump cultists, conceding all manner of things are likely, while at the same moment thinking Trump’s vehemence stems from vulnerability.
If in the most grandiose conspiracist theories of Epstein were to be true, the kompromat is in Israel (well, maybe the Israeli embassy or consulate.) And the victims never paid Epstein money or information. So it is entirely unclear why anyone would think Epstein files means anything for that version. As to the notion that Epstein made his money by blackmail, well, yes, the victims would have left transferred money to Epstein under some pretest or other, laundering it—and Epstein would have indeed recorded those transactions under said pretext as part of avoiding going to jail for tax evasion. The thing is, it’s hard to believe that Epstein made that much money from black mail. Even more shocking is the question, how did Epstein avoid being murdered by his victims’ long ago?
On the other hand, the real reason for thinking Epstein had some official protection was the lenient deal he got from one Alexander Acosta, A Republican prosecutor in the second Bush administration. Trump later appointed Acosta Secretary of Labor. The DoJ excused Acosta from anything but poor judgment in giving Epstein a non-prosecution agreement. Acosta did resign. Epstein of course died during Trump’s first term, when the Republicans controlled the DoJ. The basics of the public record suggest that any protection Epstein originally had was Republican, and that when this protection failed and he was charges again, if Epstein was murdered, then the Republicans had control of the machinery. It is Acosta who seems to have been the main witness to an intelligence operation, so to speak. But so far as I know he has never testified under oath, hence is not legally a witness, merely hearsay for the rest of us, when he claimed to was informed of such a connection or issue in prosecuting Epstein. Now so far as I know, there has been no serious investigation into who supposedly told Acosta this. To be sure, it is possible that Acosta made it all up, as a superficially plausible excuse for his inaction on Epstein. So if you really want to chase all this down, this is the place to start.
As to the letter? The real response is, who cares? People who seem to say the man caught on tape being vulgar couldn’t have been vulgar in a letter are being silly. Everybody who wanted to know already knows Trump can be vulgar. Trying to make a political issue of it is just dirty politics, like trying to make a big deal of Clinton having an affair. Trying to make a courtroom case if ut? Whether it’s a stain on a dress or a drawing the voters’ knew this before the election. Undoing elections under color of law is lawfare.
My personal conspiracy theory is that Murdoch is using the story to cover up offering a huge bribe to Trump as part of a so-called settlement. And my guess is that he gets to clean house at the WSJ’s highest levels as well?

I feel a little guilty of such a simple manipulation, as easy and entertaining as it is.
You can’t help yourself.
What you or I think is irrelevant. This is not going away. Everyone has suspicions now, founded or not. You can’t bully millions to vote for the GOP by calling them names.
I could be insane with TDS, and it won’t change that MAGA is fractured and protecting sex criminals is going over like a lead balloon.
All kinds of things can be forgiven. Tax cuts and handouts for the rich, and some military adventurism. Trade failure, etc.
Not pursuing justice? That’s a bipartisan thing. The Executive’s primary job is to see the law fairly administered. Everyone agrees that child sex criminals should be punished.
It’s perfect. More dysfunction is bad for the Empire, making it good for the ROW.

“… calling them names…”
See? TDS causes its more severely impacted victims to regress to infantilism.
In any case, it is not “name calling” to point out that someone has an illness. Is it some sort of ad hominem to say that someone displaying signs of sinus congestion and other symptoms has a cold? Of course not, but since TDS is a mental disorder we can expect disordered and nonsensical thinking from those suffering from it.

Posted by: William Gruff | Jul 18 2025 20:44 utc | 98

Saying “people here have TDS” was always wrong. Now it’s tiresome. No one here ever defended the Biden admin. Possibly no one here voted for Kamala and thus no one fell for the “lesser evil” nonsense. Almost no one here is promoting anyone from the uniparty.
If Trumpers can’t defend Trump on the merits — “merits” meaning without resorting to comparisons to other crooks (like Biden) that no one was defending anyway — then they should fuck off.
Or at least count on everyone else ignoring their posts from now on. Indeed, the only reason I notice ”TDS” is “still a thing” here is because occasionally someone else replies to the nonsense.
