USrael’s War On Iran

Counter to my expectations Israel has launched a war against Iran …

If Iran is unwilling to respond because of nuclear weapons then the whole thing is over, it’s better to submit at this point if that is their reasoning.

Honest question. What the hell happened to the S-400? No reports of anything fired by Israel being intercepted

correction;
because Israel will/may retaliate

Posted by: saner | Jun 13 2025 14:44 utc | 505

Why should Iran retaliate immediately? It does not have to “appease” its people. It does not need to attack when such an attack is expected. What will happen if it delays its response? Will Israel be able to do further damage? I doubt it. The “spectacular” killing of top military leaders needs to be put in perspective. As the telegram channel middle_East_Spectator has reported:
LINK
“All of the commanders killed by Israel were killed this morning, most of them were killed at an underground bunker during an IRGC Aerospace Force meeting.
The others, like Mohammad Baqeri and Gholam-Ali Rashid, were killed during an attack on the General Staff Headquarters in Tehran.
IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami was killed at his home, including most of the scientists, they were also killed at their homes.
The important part: Since morning, no new assassinations have taken place. Only these two locations were targeted.”
Readers do not need to react emotionally. Relax! This ain’t done yet!

Exactly.

Posted by: saner | Jun 13 2025 14:46 utc | 507

We only hear threats from Iran. A real power would push the button without much bla bla. Or even better, strike first.
This talk about retaliation en firing a few rockets as a statement is a sign of pure weekness.
For Israel, I wouldn’t shed a tear if they were wiped from the map. Let them all move to Nevada, comes pretty close I think.

Putin needs to study Israel on how to defeat enemy, but of course we know he is not a war time president and is a closet Atlanticist, so Kiev will continue terrorist attacks in Russia proper.
Posted by: Ctm | Jun 13 2025 14:33 utc | 499
Bibi announced that he expects to talk to Putin today. More exactly, he is waiting for Putin’s call on his command. “did you like it? tomorrow I’ll do that to you if you don’t do as I say. let’s start with a new unanimous UN vote, this time against Iran”

What about stopping to blame US fascism on a single person? Trump is at best an impotent puppet of this and neither invented nor has he changed the mass murder show of the USA in any way.
His stance on Israel was pretty clear from the start, why ever, probably own a lot of money to some Israelis or whatever. Nothing of this is Trumps idea, simply because this whole shitshow exists since decades and the whole plan that lead up to Iran was created far earlier before he even thought about going into politics.
Reducing this on Trump doesn’t help at all, because this would have happened anyway, the biggest difference is, that you hear more about it thanks to Trump’s verbal diarrhea.

🇮🇱🇮🇷Iran’s leadership reported that:
1. Iran will continue its nuclear research despite the deaths of scientists and attacks on nuclear facilities.
2. Iran has withdrawn from the nuclear deal negotiations with the US and will not negotiate “until further notice.”
The Iranian parliament called on the country’s leadership to make Iran a nuclear power in terms of possessing nuclear weapons. A logical and understandable demand.

Truly shocking the lack of self-awareness from both Russia & China for not seeing the plan for Iran and what would mean for them the fall of Iran…

Posted by: JamesBond | Jun 13 2025 14:55 utc | 515

There are two key questions:
a. What condition is Iran’s AD in, and
b. What are China and Russia going to do
If Iran’s AD is really compromised, then the game is over, because they’ll get pummeled by bombing runs, and if they strike back hard enough, they’ll get nuked. I think that much is clear.
If Russia and China are going to stand by and let Iran fight by itself, that puts both Russia’s and China’s long-term aspirations for sovereignty on a slow glide-path to failure.
I’d say the delay in Iran’s response is attributable to both these items, and it’s an appropriate delay.
That delay-time is over once the 2nd bombing run starts, and that’ll be tonight, likely. Whatever AD is functional will be the primary target, so it has to be working by tonight.
Russia and China are under just as much pressure and threat as Iran is, and I’m sure they’re fully aware of it. The time for fence-sitting is over as of today. Israel has calculated that Russia has decided to abandon Iran.
I don’t think “attrition” is going to work, any more than it worked for the Palestinians. When you’re getting everything leveled, it’s tough to put up any sort of resistance.

How naive is the Israeli leadership to believe that this war is short and decisive, and the blowback will not be necessarily in form of missiles on Israel, but in unpredictable attacks on Jewish and Jews all over the world.
That is their problem now.
They will say, “oh,it was not me, I was against it from the beginning”.

I do… I blame Russia,Iran and China for not fighting back appropriately. What is the use of Russia having nukes or even conventional weapons if they don’t have the balls to use them? So Russia is then dying a death of a thousand cuts right?
What use is Iran acting tough all these years if they are afraid of fighting back to Israel or the USA when the time comes. So when is the right time, Iran? When the Israelis, US or the proxies of these two are already roaming the streets of Iran? Will Russia and China sign onto carving out spheres of influence in Iran , for the US and Israel ,like they did in Syria? Wasn’t the second carve – up and betrayal of “Czechoslovakia “ enough last year? Will we see it again in Iran.
It has been said that Iran’s S400 were switched off, meaning switched off when Iran wanted them on. Did Russia betray Iran to Israel for a second time in twenty years, by giving TelAviv/Jaffa the S400 codes?
Use it or lose it , Iran! Learn to fight like the Greeks and Russians did in the Persian Wars and WWII respectively; to the death , and burn everything in the path of the enemy.
Maybe democracy is not made to win wars on its own land. Maybe a benign but strong clever despot is needed after all. I am losing faith in the nationstate rapidly. I now believe that no good will come from any extant leader of any extant state. For the world to change, you will need a popular uprising in the USA to stop the domestic rot and foreign wars. Only then can popular uprisings in the rest of the world get rid of their vassal leaders. Only then will the people return to or even gain for the first time the livelihoods of the West of the Fifties and Sixties.

In the multipolar world created by Putin and Xe, regional powers will wage wars to establish regional hegemony. The Israeli-Sunni alliance is busy systematically dismantling the Iranian axis of resistance. None of this should come as a surprise.

We are so feeble and futile in how easily we can be manipulated, especially given the potentials of ml when it comes to news controlled by the west puppeteers. And we play along…
all the ‘lying’ israel fancy media stills and footage of F15s, F35s, refueling etc never penetrated Iranian space, no air supremacy exists, it is all ‘deception’ an illusion, part of the ploy winning on a first strike.
All we have is IR footage of drones, which could easily be faked with ML. We are so quick to jump to conclusions that Iran is incapable of protecting itself, that this must be some inside job, because we are ‘fed’ the purported lies that it was an absolute success. Iran is done.
Telegram sites mostly reverberate western sources, not facts. Iran can also create ‘fog of war’ and deceive its enemies of many martyred.
Do folks forget how easy it is to MANIPULATE satellite imagery? People are still so easily deceived, fooled by mere online propaganda.

Something is afoot: Netanyahu has left the country, moving to the US/UK Akrotiri heavily fortified airbase. Wild speculation – in Israel’s poorly considered attack on Iran, they have either killed key personnel or badly damaged Chinese assets. China has been instrumental in the development of Iran’s energy resources. “Decapitation” of Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists is in insufficient numbers to seriously weaken Iranian deterrence. Furthermore, Iran is no doubt seeking and obtaining high level advice from astute strategists in Russia and China. Moves will be carefully planned, and entail actions at the diplomatic level (Security Council/General Assemblly), strategic armed deterrence and, geared to put the UK/US/IS/EU in an economic chokehold owing to disruption of energy markets. None of the aforementioned have economies that can exist on oil at 250 a barrel because of chokeholds on the Straits of Hormuz and Mandeb al Bab. However, escalation of oil prices only benefits the middle east satrapies such as the Saudi’s. Are IS/US/UK/EU one trick ponies?

This strike is completely senseless, _unless_ there is a continuation planned to be ready to start off.
The _only_ sensible continuation plan would be that of instigating a color revolution.
The _only_ sensible way to guarantee a color revolution’s success would having bought off Iran’s military high leadership, as was done in Libya and Irak.
A color revolution is therefore certainly under way. If it ends up crushed, Israel and the neocons have lost, but the war will be very long.

Talking from experience, I know two Iranians who when I first met them couldn’t wait to tell me they were actually Turks . I said oh , you mean you mean you are from Azerbaijan province in Iran. Yes, they said ,”that is what we said, we are Turks” . Iran should never have remained neutral in the Artsakh/Azerbaijan war and for their lack of trouble, now have a pernicious strip of NATO Turkdom all across its northern borders, to allow Mossad in through the borders. In addition, Russia of course was too cowardly , and allowed itself to be asked to leave-by Armenia’s treasonous and foolish Pashinyan , the areas it patrolled in Artsakh .
So Iran is very fractured ; with MEK Sunni Arab jihadi/Communists if you can believe it , and traitorous Persians who think they are Turks! Those “moderate “ leaders in power should be shot against the wall now , and even that Westernising-ponce , Zarif.

EoinW: if indeed that’s the case, it makes you wonder how serious Russia really is about BRICS, and more broadly, it’s ability to retain sovereignty as it becomes surrounded, and then gradually pecked to death.
And that’s what it’ll be, right?
So I’m not sure I’m ready to accept Orlov’s prognosis. Putin and Xi are long-term strategic thinkers, and they can read the tea leaves better than I can.
If those societies really want a new social order based on performance (.vs. plunder) …
And if they aren’t willing to fight for it, and they’re the primary beneficiaries of it, how much more time should we – the Bar, et. al – invest advocating for a future that others – who benefit the most – aren’t willing to strive for?
Orlov’s isolationism isn’t good nationalism. It’s an attitude of convenience. Let’s see where Russia and China settle out; we’ll know in a few days.

Hamas is a brake on the process, not an accelerator, despite what many of you here think.
Any population under threat of anhilation will form a resistance in order to save themselves as a whole.
Any resistance emerging from such a population will be used as an excuse to do even more harm.
Does this mean that the act of resistance is basically providing yet another pretext upon whatever pretext was being used before?
No.

I also wonder how much of Orlov’s basically advocating the Russian abandonment of Iran is just him or whether the Russian leadership will support it. I have a sense the Russians are ready to cut off Iran if need be, hard to believe this attack would have takennplace without some consulting of the Russians by the West, Trump said in his last call he spoke to Putin about Iran.
In any case the Russian position for Iran is untenable for Iran, Russia does not want them to develop nukes nor are they willing to extend firm security guarantees against Israel, the Russians seek the status qou/stability which is a disarmed Iran.

Posted by: Silverfoxes | Jun 13 2025 15:30 utc | 555

Jeffrey Sachs made the point on Judge Nepolitano’s show that the Israeli strikes on Iran (which Trump has boasted about supplying weapons for) have a similarity to the attempted airstrikes deep into Russia, so they should, in my view, be considered a state-sponsored terrorist operation. Not only similar to the airstrikes as being drone strikes from within the country, but also in indiscriminate targetting of civilians.
This must affect how Russia relates to the US as far as negotiations are concerned. It is a very dark day indeed.

The Arab Zionist pro-Israel colony states like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Jordan remind me of the vampires from The Strain. After getting infected, the first thing they do is want to infect their relatives. These countries got infected one by one and they went on to infect each other with the evil entity’s strain and now they want the other muslim countries to get infected too. Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, Turkey already got infected. With the destruction of Assad, Syria is now a vampire state too whose role is also to please the evil colony. So naturally all these vampire states want to infect Lebanon and Iran.

Iran advertised countless times its resolve to wipe Israel off the map, in so many words. Israel was not inclined to submit to that outcome and it closely monitored Iran’s practical steps to acquire deliverable nuclear bombs. Israel, in turn, advertised that Iran’s nuclear program would not be allowed to succeed. The world stood by waiting to see who’s advertising jibed with reality.

The Iranian army was rendered “blind, deaf and dumb” by the Israeli strike due to a massive cyber attack on the country’s defense system, military observers at Bild suggest.
Apparently, Israel managed to disable Iranian radars until the morning, which is why the Iranian Air Force, which took off, simply did not see the targets. Strikes were recorded from only one Iranian air defense base.
“Hundreds of Iranian officers and pilots did not even know that anything was happening. This points to a massive cyberattack using electronic warfare, which probably began as the Israeli planes were taking off,” the publication writes.
In addition, Israel apparently disabled communications between various air defense units and private communications systems – mobile phones, radios and pagers. Neither SMS, WhatsApp nor phone calls warned the attacked targets of the upcoming Israeli strike.

Could mainstream media (MSM) exaggerate or coordinate messaging to glorify Israel’s Iron Dome or downplay Iran’s capabilities?
Yes — and they often do. This doesn’t necessarily mean all journalists are “in on it,” but rather:
Reliance on official sources (IDF briefings, U.S. Defense Department) creates a uniform message.
Echo-chamber effect: Reuters quotes IDF, then BBC quotes Reuters, then CNN cites both — it looks like confirmation from multiple outlets, but it’s all stemming from the same primary source.
Framing bias: Most Western MSM frame Israel as the advanced, democratic underdog, and Iran as the opaque aggressor. This colors how defenses like Iron Dome are reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Iran will retaliate forcefully following recent Israeli strikes.
“Iranian missiles will come. There will be a response,” he told The Times of Israel.
Netanyahu said Iran is currently in disarray, but insisted Tehran will respond eventually.
“There will be strikes—possibly in waves and very harsh,” he cautioned.
ℹ️Several news outlets report that Iran might retaliate this evening or during the night.

Yup. In the entire recorded history of the planet there has never been an empire like the American one. Never mind its weapons of mass destruction, it has the ability to do what no other empire had the ability to do: print infinite money. This is what allows them to pay their foot soldiers, keep their subjects fed and content (food stamps, welfare income, medical care), bribe foreign leaders, pump out an endless supply of weapons, and keep their vassals afloat despite endless warfare.
Unless this ability is taken away, there’s no stopping the US. It’s all talk.

All these smart people trying to explain to us how helping Iran (or Syria, or …) was not in the cost-benefit tradeoff calculations of China and Russia miss this bit.

The fact that Iran has not military responded to the attack yet, leads me to think Iran wasnt prepared for Israel to attack this soon and was still organizing the military for their response once the attack occurred (possibly Iran they thought they had a few more days and was using this time to direct their military). Assuming Iran’s military was partially disrupted by this attack that would explain why they havent launch a wide scale counter attack yet, probably If Iran doesn’t launch a military response by tonight, then that would mean that their military was surprised by these attacks and didnt have a prepared automatic response ready for immediate use (i’m not saying that they were caught entirely flat-footed, just that they were not on a hair-trigger response).
Israel is clearing pushing for a regime change in Iran and it looks like Germany, France, Britain, Canada and the US were fully informed of the attacks in advance and have given their full support for the plan which includes several weeks of continuous attacks on Iran. Obviously, this means that all that Western BS about ending the Genocide in Gaza and promoting peace in the Middle East has been completely discredited, the Western powers were supporting the Genocide in Gaza in order to shape the landscape for a war on Iran and they were probably secretly planning this with Israel for at least the past year.

The Iranian people might have already decided they are better off with the West ?
As the ” Do Nothings ” never protect them. Always tell them to respond with kid gloves ?
The ” Do nothing’s ” are always forcing Iran not to retaliate. Forcing Iran not to have nukes ?
You can’t count out the fact the Iranian people might be sick and tired of false promises from their BRICS partners ?
That’s the real danger from Putin and Xi’s doing absolutely nothing. Their BRICS partners are watching very closely how they will respond. They either protect their allies or they don’t. Do they believe in BRICS or not ?
You can never count out that possibility. Can you ?

ZH has a posting up with the title
US-Israeli Deception Gave Iran False Security Amid Washington Green Light
quote

Fresh reporting as well as new Friday statements by President Trump reveal that the US and Israel practiced deceptive diplomacy, as Israeli and American officials worked together to convince Iran that nuclear negotiations were progressing.
Yet all the while an elaborate Israel attack on Iranian nuclear sites was being planned, and Tehran was given a false sense of security, and ill-prepared for its defense.
Axios has reported that Tel Aviv was given “a clear US green light” to start bombing, according to two unnamed Israeli officials. The previously widely reported ‘split’ and spat between Trump and Netanyahu was a public ruse.
“Two Israeli officials claimed to Axios that Trump and his aides were only pretending to oppose an Israeli attack in public — and didn’t express opposition in private,” the report explained. “The goal, they say, was to convince Iran that no attack was imminent and make sure Iranians on Israel’s target list wouldn’t move to new locations.”

Some of us are not overly surprised.
Our species has developed a cancer and it is close to terminal. If the China/Russia axis cannot intercede successfully here I am fearful for our future……the shit show continues until it doesn’t….and IT IS UGLY!

Weird logic. Syria was “saved” by the United States as in they overthrew Assad and instated a regime loyal to them. If Russia had been strong instead of weak, and if it wished to, it could have done the same. It didn’t, and now Israeli jets are operating with impunity over Syria.
I’m hoping for a credible response, both from Iran as well as from Russia and China. This would be a response that would involve a lot of dead Jewish supremacists.

When American rattlesnakes start moving out of their embassy dens, and announce it, even a dumb hillbilly from TN can see something is coming. This makes the idea that Iran was caught by surprise hard to believe. It suggests the chutzpah people wormed their way inside and did something to neutralize defenses. Graveyard whistlers/fence straddlers can count on the chutzpah people doing the same thing to them. That’s unless you stop them and your survival is incumbent on this.

Personally I think both Iran and Russia are idiotic in their patience/restraint. Iran especially. Thousands of missiles should have been raining on Israel as soon as it was known to be Israel that attacked.
But I fully convinced that neither Russia or Iran have a clue when it come to the psychology of their opponent, the West.
Patience, restraint, honour, decency, fairness, kindness, tolerance; The West laughs at the thought that their enemies handicap themselves by behaving in such ways. They have no respect for such ‘weakness’.
Iran is done IMO. Russia better wake the fuck up (I think they are showing some signs) or they will screw themselves as Iran has done.
Maybe Iran will WTFU, but I doubt it. But yes, time will tell. Meanwhile we wait and speculate.
