Thanks for that succinct description Posted by: cirsium | Jun 23 2025 13:25 utc | 102 More importantly, cooperation is humanity’s survival characteristic. Cooperation is to humanity what a cheetah’s speed and agility are, or an alligator’s powerful jaws are. Without cooperation (society) there would be no humanity. Without cooperation our ancestors would have been easy snacks for predators, regardless of how aggressive any individuals in that population were. Posted by: Topic | Jun 23 2025 13:57 utc | 104 The process of EU dissolution is on (as it should be) Posted by: Norwegian | Jun 23 2025 14:33 utc | 105 Human pre-history is rich with cooperation for murder. In essence, we were organized in small egalitaritan bands, which would bump off anyone who tried to dominate the group. Groups would also war with other groups. This seems to have led to evolutionary changes. Strictly speaking, this feat is not inherent to the aggression itself, but to the focused intent that comes with it. One might argue the point I guess, but we are in a position where we have a nice live experiment on the question running: can the Chinese with their allegedly conformist society be innovators like the individualist people from the west? Posted by: persiflo | Jun 23 2025 22:31 utc | 118 Nukes are not going to be used in the Ukrainian or European theatre (at least not by Russia, they simply don’t need to, the speed and accuracy of the conventional missile fleet is sufficient) despite some fetishists secret desires. The dreamers usually know about the primordial power of violence. Most of them say it’s a bad idea. Once this has been established as an argument and the systematical questions sorted, it remains a question of practical philosophy; whether you have one or not. Posted by: persiflo | Jun 25 2025 2:30 utc | 149 It’s fairly evident, Blue has no intention of ‘winning’ in Ukraine. It has no intention of retaking what Russia has seized. It’s primary objective is attriting Russia – if you take a moment to step outside what your preconceived notions of what is right or wrong, the logic is fairly sound. i remember budanov or another nazi from the sbu claiming proudly about “we have more scooters” a while ago. did those morons ship them to the wrong country? Posted by: Justpassinby | Jun 25 2025 21:10 utc | 154 Putin has established countless red lines in this conflict that haven’t resulted in anything after being crossed. He is a weak leader. Remember when Russia would nuke the west if Ukraine struck within Russia’s borders? Funny how that turned out huh?🤔 Posted by: master of plaster | Jun 25 2025 21:29 utc | 155 Master of Plaster // 155 Posted by: Nobody Special | Jun 25 2025 22:52 utc | 156 @Milites | Wed, 25 Jun 2025 16:35:00 GMT | 153 – Sorry for my insufficiently coherent train of thoughts; I’ll try again.
I don’t think so. Let me explain. Posted by: persiflo | Jun 25 2025 23:13 utc | 157 The casualties will destroy both nations – they’ll just stagnate and then fall further and further behind. Posted by: acur | Jun 26 2025 0:03 utc | 158 Speaking of casualties we’re back at regular 1.400 but DS still says 14km2+ but it’s zit-land again, lots of things can go pop soon. Posted by: Newbie | Jun 26 2025 13:10 utc | 159 Sorry. I am just trying to check the “connectivity” to this forum. Posted by: Bor | Jun 26 2025 13:45 utc | 160 So far we have 250k dead Russians. By 5-10 years its going to be 500,000 dead Russians and probably 1 million wounded. If Putin wants to leave a legacy behind…. the amount of dead Russians he killed in Russia for what was supposed to be a 14 day operation is going to be his legacy.
