Ukraine – Cost Of 6,000 Dead Soldiers, Thousands ‘Abducted’ Children Have Vanished

Busy, so just a few items on Ukraine.

  • Colonel Markus Reisner of the Austrian Army just published a new overview (vid) on the state of the war in Ukraine.
  • During the negotiations in Istanbul Russia offered to 'unilaterally' deliver to Ukraine the 6,000 bodies of service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Today the Russian delegation leader in Istanbul, Vladimir Medinsky, reported to President Putin:

We proposed, unilaterally, to transfer to Kiev over 6,000 bodies of Ukrainian troops. They will be transferred using refrigerator cars where they are currently kept. We are ready to begin shortly. We understand Ukraine may have bodies of our troops as well although in much smaller numbers. But we are ready to take them over, if any.

The bodies were mostly recovered by the Russians after the hasty retreat of the Ukrainian army from its incursion into Russia's Kursk oblast.

This offer is a significant problem (in Russian) for the Ukrainian government. Family members of the deceased soldiers are of course pressing to receive and to bury those bodies. But acknowledging that those dead are indeed Ukrainian soldiers would be quite costly.

The dead are currently only listed as 'missed'. If they are declared dead their families will be entitled to receive 15 million hryvnias (UAH) (US$ 1 = UAH 41,50) each (3 million at once and the rest over three years and three months).

The return of six thousand bodies of military personnel killed in battle will cost 90 billion hryvnias (~US$ 2.2 billion) of payments from the Ukrainian budget. This is almost 10% of the military budget of Ukraine for the whole of the year.

The Ukrainian government will have to take the bodies. But it is likely to declare most of them 'unidentified' to then slow walk the process of identifying and naming them.

(The high cost for the budget also explains why the official Ukrainian death count is always kept low.)

  • Mediniski made another point which is also of interest:

Finally, the Ukrainian side handed over to us the list of 339 children allegedly kidnapped from the territory of Ukraine. Here is the list. We are working on it, through the office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights. We will investigate every name.

But I must note that, for propaganda purposes, they earlier claimed that tens and hundreds of thousands of children had been brought over here. In fact, the actual number is 339 and we still need to check how many are in Russia, evacuated by our soldiers from under fire, and how many will eventually turn up in Europe, as experience shows.

The 'experience' Medinsky mentions refers to this item from last year's April:

Ukrainian children deported by Russia have been found in Germany: details have emerged

Ukrainian law enforcement officers, with the assistance of their German colleagues, have established the whereabouts of 161 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia in Germany. They were wanted as forcibly transferred to the temporarily occupied territories or deported to Russia and Belarus.

Those Ukrainian children, abducted by the bad, bad Putin, had fled with their parents to Germany …

New Start does not make the targets soft. And Putin suspended the treaty years ago and stopped the onsite inspections at that time, which was the treaty verification mechanism for operating strategic bombers. Stories from multiple sources are easily turned up via web search.
From time to time the US keeps some of it’s strategic bombers in hangers as does Russia. Usually for maintenance, not protection but either way they are not always left out in the open.

The horror of what occurred was rapidly eclipsed by the horror of how our so called democracies in the free west responded.

During Pakistan-Indian war, a S-400 AD system export variant shot down a Swedish E-2000 AWACS aircraft from a record distance of 318 km.
Doesn’t bode well for Swedes venturing to Ukraine..?

NATO has intentionally scheduled the terrorist attack to be immediately superseded by the military strike on airfield. The goal is – to overshadow their terrorism in the media field. Give cover to the West for ignoring civilian murders.
President Putin correctly isn’t having any of that shit and playing the media trick backwards, focusing on the terrorism. It’s not rocket science, but Russian government was never exactly great at managing PR, so little correct plays like that are worth noting.

Mr. Michael Dale Huckabee (MDH) is a sick man.
Once you understand that then you understand everything else is happening in the Middle East and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, West Bank, Syria, parts of Lebanon and Yemen.
The question is how to stop a sick man from continuing his expantionary sickness.
All three (3) British-Empire-Ruled States 1) Kingdom of Saudi Arabia KSA, 2) State of Qatar (SQA), and 3) United Arab Emirates (UAE) [federal elective monarchy, Dubai being the weaponry center from back to Ukraine, Africa and project of Israel] in addition to the Sultanate of Oman (SUO) and the State of Kuwait (SKU) are regionally trapped and they simply act according to British orders.
They can not help with the extinction even if they wanted too.
Only external military forces could resolve and salvage the destruction of the Palestinian people and others in the region.

I like Arestovich. He’s a thinker. He adds another perspective, and I appreciate that.

He’s a character. Of a sort. And a big puzzle.
Whenever he says something it’s loaded with question why did he say that? And what that tells about him. And whether that can be used to extrapolate his longer-term alignment shifts.
The post here seems to indicate that he would attempt to align himself with some sort of pan-Russian clique in the future.

*** Here’s George Galloway talking with Jim Ferguson about the importance of National sovereignty. How crucial it is.
Both have spent their entire lives fighting against Scottish independence. Scotland having its own National sovereignty. ***
Especially since the time of Jim Sillars, the SNP has had a strange obsession wsith immigration — wanting to add unlimited numbers of of foreigners to the population. For instance at the end of its leasing by the UK that Party wanted to ship in the population of Hong Kong …. almost as many additional millions as the already existing population of Scotland. Add in the also desired immigration from elsewhere, and very soon the Scottish people you started with would become a minority in (what used to be) their own country.
It might, however, provide some impressive though temporary “economic growth” figures — but such computations are generally bullshit fantasies selectively cooked up by cultist economists anyway.
That isn’t meant as a criticism of Chinese or any other nationality — just a description of an absurdly destructive political aspiration by leaders of those wanting a ‘separate’ Scotland … which whatever it ended up as, wouldn’t actually be “Scottish” any more.
So what “sovereignty”? Of who or what, and why?

Bringing up an interesting point, that the UK wants to keep the war running to use this as cover for spy work against Russia to derail it.

Can kicked. Problem solved.

🇺🇦 Ukraine will recognize missing participants of the conflict as dead only two years after its end.
The law on this matter has been adopted by the Verkhovna Rada. The death of a missing person will also have to be proven in court.
Ukrainian media outlets note that until this moment, the relatives of the deceased will not receive compensation from Kiev in the amount of 15 million hryvnia (about 1.3 million zlotys), which is provided in the event of death.

Thanks to James and Mustee for your kind words, and to everyone for adding to our discussion. I saw last night that Mercouris had separated the drone attacks on the bombers as legitimate targets, while this morning Christophorou did not agree that Putin had called the Ukraine regime a terrorist one. Not being proficient in Russian (I have to spend more time with Russian movies – would love some links!) I won’t argue against those points. Thanks for being patient with me.
The several different folk dialoguing with Nima have separate fields of convincing arguments. I’m not able to make them all agree, just have to keep them separate in my mind like the pieces of my favorite jigsaw puzzle- a really hard one. Last time I felt I had grasped the Wolff and Hudson arguments; today I didn’t. I’ll have to go back after lunch, I guess! The only point I remember now was that Richard said something about assembling all the Dialogue Works lessons he and Michael were giving into a text for understanding economics. Good idea!

i watched/listened to the video you referenced much earlier in the thread.. it is very good.. john helmer comes with a lot of insights, as does ray mcgovern and nima is a great host for allowing these conversations to happen.. i would like to believe that john helmer is right in his analysis of where we are here.. this video and johns viewpoint is much nuanced then the one i shared earlier of him with dimitri lascaris.. taken together, i do have to say they are all trying to think this out in fine detail which may be necessary, but it is no easy task.. there is a lot of moving parts and it is easy to get some of it wrong is basically what i am saying..
my friend in the usa has sent me a link between scott ritter and george galloway from 1 hour ago – 15 minutes.. you or others might want to watch it.. it takes a different approach..

Those civil airliners crashing into buildings on 9/11 were fictions achieved with computer graphics. One such company explained how this probably was done and what the difficulty was: namely that they had to bring it together very rapidly to fit into the medias covering without too much delay.
Without exploding one missile however hit the Pentagon on the distance from the ground where a shipwrecker missile would have hit a carrier.
So the suggestion that a Soviet Granite shipwrecker missile stolen from the Kursk submarine was used is credible.
It explains why the Russians wouldnt question the official narrative.

You might enjoy Leviathan (2014), directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. The film is a Russian drama that explores themes of corruption, power, and fate. It takes place in a coastal town in northern Russia, where a dead whale lies on the beach, serving as a powerful visual metaphor for the story’s themes.

Arestovych should read the Wolfowitz doctrine, as should everyone else, it’s readily available on the net, it tells you why the Americans turned Ukraine into their colony what with the Kiev’s Feb 2014 violent putsch, Victoria Nuland’s naming the first Ukrainian government after the coup, and the massive amount of money spend oil the Ukrainian project, the doctrine calls for the US and her vassals to destroy any country that would challenge the US hegemony as did the old USSR.
Russia is the first phase of the hegemony’s defence, the Middle Kingdom’s next. China will never allow Russia to fall, however, it would be a catastrophe for China because she would then be surrounded by the US vassals from every geographical side, will very likely fall herself.
It beggars belied that the BRICS countries haven’t yet pulled together more strongly, they are being picked up one by one by the Americans, South Africa was the latest victim, instead of working out a united front, a useless alliance, the BRICS.

The law is quite flexible. It bends to the will of power.

That’s one observation that’s generally quite applicable.
The other observation is that my view of this war from the ukrop pov gives me predictive power. That usually happens when one’s view is very precise and accurate.
My view is that ukrop leadership is consuming ukrop male population for Western treasure, leading to fast decomposition of the ukrop territorial status as a state. The West contribute to this decomposition by flooding the country with Western fiat and military materiel while Russia contribute by killing ukrop males and burning through ukrop instalations and materiel.
Regarding ukrop populace, the best way to describe them is with the lyrics of Bile’s great song, “No one I call friend”:

All of them are losers!
All of them are fake!
All of them are demons!
All of them just take!
All of them are two-faced!
All of them just speak!
So wrapped up in their own lies they don’t see themselves so weak!
[Chorus] NO ONE I CALL FRIEND! You are not my friend!
All of them are pathetic!
All of them are shit!
All of them aren’t worthy!
They’re not worth my spit!
All of them are victims!
All of them are thieves!
Consume, devour and fuck themselves just like a piece of meat!
[Chorus]: NO ONE I CALL FRIEND! You are not my friend!
You’re all fucking losers!
[…]
All of you are gluttons!
All of you are mutts!
Flap around in your own BILE, you fat, fucking sluts!
[Chorus]: NO ONE I CALL FRIEND! You are not my friend!

The combined work of the West and Russia on the Ukraines will of course lead to the end of the Ukraines as an independent state, with Chechnya as an early precedent of how it will all be wrapped up.
All four sides of this war know this is the end result. The only question is whether Russia’s capitalist development was slowed down significantly or not. So far it seems Western policy has backfired so most likely 10 years from now Russia will be an even larger and more assertive capitalist power covering Europe and Asia.
