I didn’t back down at all the other day. I called him out proactively and then just yawned. What’s the point of keeping it going? Like I said I’ve been around a while. So has he. Before Trump became a “thing” he was probably my favorite commentator at this site. I still often chuckle at his takes because he is a smart motherfucker with an acid wit but an unfortunate blind spot for Trump – or rather, he seems to think that anyone who criticizes Trump is a TDS suffering closeted Democrat boot licker. Obviously that couldn’t be further from the truth. But Gruff definitely knows his Marxian materialist analysis.
Anyway, let’s drop this. It’s pointless and starts to remind me of a psychological phenomenon first credited to the old Popeye cartoons:

I first became aware of the phenomenon of a mode flip decades before it had that moniker. I witnessed one when I was a psychiatric consultant on a patient on a medical floor in a hospital. Her medical condition was being affected adversely by her stress level, precipitating a request for a psychiatric evaluation. When I first met the woman, she was the sweetest, warmest, friendliest, and most pleasant patient one could possibly have hoped to ever meet. We were having a nice chat about her stress level when her phone rang. It was the patient’s husband.
Suddenly and without warning her entire demeanor and tone of voice changed radically; she turned into the nastiest, most shrill harridan one could imagine. Her comments towards him seemed unrepentantly vicious, venomous, and unreasonable. After a short conversation, she practically hung up on him.
Now, her husband may very well have deserved her rage and the nasty treatment. However, without knowing the entire context of their relationship, and only hearing one side of this one conversation, most people would easily start to feel sorry for the poor fellow on the other end of the line.
As soon as she put down the receiver, in literally a split second, she turned right back into all sweetness and light and continued to be like that for the remainder of the interview. Whatever the facts of their relationship might have been, what was truly striking was that her changes from “Little Miss Sunshine” to “Hell Hath No Fury” and back again were so amazingly instantaneous, radical, complete, and dramatic.
Back to the staff split. Eric Berne, founder of the school of psychotherapy known as Transactional Analysis and author of the best-selling book Games People Play, had a name for this whole pattern. He called it the game of Lets You and Him Fight. In other words, the patient acts in ways that essentially picks a fight between other people.
The solution to the staff split is actually simple and straightforward. First, staff members have to be aware of the fact that their arguments may be being set up by the patient and may not be due to the unreasonableness or stubbornness of other people engaged in the conflict. They must then ask each other on what patient behavior they are basing their opinion, and compare notes. They can then decide on a mutually acceptable course of action and present a united front to the patient, and voila, the patient stops trying to split them. Patients with BPD can be most accomodating in that way.
Because psychiatrists have known about how to prevent staff splits for so long and have imparted this knowledge to medical and ancillary staff, we do not see this problem nearly as often as we used to.
The relationship between the two senses of the term splitting is that the patient acts all good with one group and all bad with another group. If pressed, the analysts would probably say that the staff split is just an incidental byproduct of the patient’s tendency to see some of the staff as all good and others as all bad…….

I’d rather just get along or at least choose my battles to minimize bullshit in the comment section when I have the willpower to do it.

Its safe to say, that anything that deranged DT says to the media, can be logically reversed.
Example: TRUMP ON ISRAEL-IRAN CONFLICT to Reporter: “Sometimes they have to fight it out.”
“I think there’s a good chance there will be a deal.”
Truth: “We’re going in tomorrow asap to kick some iranians”
Rinse and repeat for everything else he is going to say, and we have outlined the next steps without guess work.

Brian Berletic, I think, rightly asserts that the Israeli strike on Iran is a proxy strike for the US and that now the US is eager and looking for an excuse to get involved. I think Iran, by the fury of its response and knowing the US is intransigent cannot be trusted, is not wanting, but is willing to draw the US into the conflict to provide an excuse to hit US bases in Qatar and Iraq, close the strait, and flip the script. A bit like Rorschach in Watchmen, “I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me!”

Quality and Dramatic Video circulating in TG:
“Of an Israeli AD battery, likely Arrow-3, misfires and destroys its own launcher in the Negev”
There is already a movie in the works of the conflict, slated to hit theatres and stream in 2026.
If IMDB would allow scoring, I think most of the Iranian hypersonic missiles hitting into Israel would be a solid 10/10! Hollywood will sure to copy the style in their next blockbuster.

Many Trump anus-lickers here at MoA. Even worse than Zero Hedge now.
Posted by: Thatguy2 | Jun 16 2025 3:55 utc | 622
The actual MOA Trump cultists have mostly STFU since they realized that they no longer have their perceived “anti-war” (or anti-Zionist) bona fides to differentiate themselves from the Democrats and wave over our heads like they and their Orange Guru are genuine anti-imperialist alternatives to the warmongering Dems. Once it becomes obvious that Trump has totally committed to the war on Iran that I’ve ALWAYS said he would, they’ll be back to throwing off-topic bullshit like “DEI”, “woke” and “Democrats suck” into threads.
Gruff isn’t a Trump supporter or fiscal conservative tho he may be a social conservative. He just thinks that – for whatever reason – several people at this site who criticize Trump are secret, closeted neolib-Dem apologists or some shit like that. Admittedly it’s gotten a little….weird lately. I’m still taking stock. Frankly he is probably right about a few, but like I said – it’s gotten very weird.
Long story short, I’ve ‘known’ Gruff for a long time here at MoA, and have had frequent disagreements as well as agreements with him – you don’t know the full picture.
Conservatism, and even more so Trumpism consists of “exactly one proposition … There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Either way, now I’m down a rabbit hole I didn’t want to go down. I’m not talking (fake news) party foreign policy politics anymore.

Anyone know of te americans moving aircraft from Qatar, carriers in the region. For the americans to stay out of the range of Iranian missile, be it sea or land, they will require tankers for strikes.
Large cruise missile launch combined with long range air attack with standoff weapons possibly the next step of escalation.
If nukes enter the equation then Russia is in, so likely conventional attack.

There is a lot of chatter about the US joining the war, but real experts know the US doesn’t go to war without BK One. DARPA didn’t dedicate 1000 of America’s finest scientists and $100 billion dollars from the Pentagon budget for nothing, this is America’s greatest military asset.
SLG can confirm that BK One has not left the US and in a difficult match you don’t have Mbappe or Salah sit on the bench.

Lastly, the issue of strategic depth is extremely important in any war of attrition, and the Zionists lack that.
Posted by: karlof1 | Jun 15 2025 19:20 utc | 202

I respect karlof1’s opinions because they have a track record. But while I’m not convinced that Israel is doing nothing else but the u.s.’s bidding, I think they have shown they have the backing of the u.s. mic and deep state, and so that strategic depth may not be allthat much lacking.

Posted by: Old Jake | Jun 16 2025 4:15 utc | 622

Berletic has got it wrong. Izzystan is not a proxy for the U$$A, while the latter is not a proxy for the “chosen”. Both parties get the same orders from a certain cabal centered in City of London. It’s quite likely that many of the “acceptable” podcasters are desperate to not be deplatformed by certain select outlets. The money, fame and name of the game makes for an easy slide into queasy.

🇺🇸THIS MOVEMENT IS NOT FOR NATO EXERCISE TRIDENT JUNCTION:
The U.S. is now deploying 24 Air Force tankers eastward—an unprecedented surge far beyond any NATO exercise like Trident Juncture.
Trident Juncture 2018 (the largest in recent years):
— The U.S. deployed around 6–8 tankers: KC-135 Stratotankers and KC-10 Extenders, mostly from bases like RAF Mildenhall and Ramstein NOT from US Bases.
— Additional tankers are often contributed by NATO partners (e.g., UK, Netherlands, Germany), bringing the total to 10–15 tankers in theater at MOST.
This isn’t routine. These tankers are strategic force multipliers, enabling long-range ops for bombers, fighters, and ISR assets.
If you’re wondering whether something massive is underway—you’re not wrong. MAGA IS TURNING INTO MIGA RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES!

potato, I doubt you see Iran close the straits, that’s a card they’ll wait to play. If they play all their cards, there’s no reason for negotiations, You cry uncle to prevent those last card being played. You guys approach war like a two pump chump. As a wrestler and rugby player, my early moves were all set ups, you set them up for the kill. You don’t over extend yourself, you don’t negotiate against yourself, punch, counter punch, you don’t rush the KO punch, you might even let wriggle for a while, stay calm and let them freak out.

Posted by: Scottindallas | Jun 16 2025 4:18 utc | 625

Israel’s original plan was to shock Iran into submission with a sucker punch, a bit like Russia attack on Kiev in 2022. This has obviously failed so what’s next for them? Attrition not good for them. Population about to crack in the shelters they’re having nervous crisis and orgies all over the place. If Israel doesn’t escalate fast or gets a new player in their team their odds don’t seem promising at all. They just deployed bomb cars in Teheran, despair might be climbing fast among the genocidal entity

I follow a few American accounts on Twitter just to see how delusional their perception of the world is. These are veterans, most of them MAGA, some of them ranchers or farmers.
They aren’t necessarily bad people, but they literally know NOTHING about ANYTHING outside of the US.
There is this belief that if Khameini is killed, Iran will fall apart.
If Trump were killed, would America fall apart? If Starmer, Macron, or Merz? Bibi?
The perception of countries they have been deployed to, or wish war upon, is so narrow and cartoon-like.

I’m curious about Iran’s hinting at other weapons that will be a surprise and with the news of a big deployment of tanker aircraft have this thought: Atop a ballistic first stage is mounted a long-range AD missile tasked to take out tankers at a range of 3000Km. Might be a tad pricey, but defeating the tankers defeats the air armada. And such a weapon is rather simple. And of course, it would be a smart missile since at that range it would be detected and shot at by the jets being fueled, plus the tanker would know to take evasive actions. Of course, in such a wave type of attack where many planes are being refueled by multiple tankers several volleys would be fired.
So, if they have something like that, then why haven’t we seen it in action? Saving them to surprise and upset the Outlaw US Empire’s plans to intervene. We shall soon see.

one big reason I never had much hope for Trump was that he never identified the Neocons. And that has seemingly plagued this his second term. I favored Bernie of the slop we’ve been offered, but voted for Stein. On Texas I’ve not had a vote for President as the GOP candidate getsy vote whether I even bother or not to vote. I seldom see much reason to vote in the general election, I’ve supported Ron Paul, Bernie and other primary votes where I could pick a candidate I gave a shit about.
But to reiterate, Trump’s inability or failure to identify and describe the Neocons meant foreign policy was not going to get fixed, and foreign policy is where the easy budget balancing dollars are found.

Yes. Timing is everything, and in a conflict, it’s who decides the tempo and has the initiative.
If someone gets inside the other’s OODA loop, that is a big deal. Russia has been inside Ukraine’s loop for 2 years now. Ukraine does terrorism, trying to get Russia to react.
The Iranians (maybe due to my ignorance) have been masterful at setting the tempo of this conflict once they recovered their comms. The Israelis want to react in kind, but they can’t because the Persians keep them off balance.

Posted by: Scottindallas | Jun 16 2025 4:18 utc | 645
Yes, but closing the straits is a “trump” card (ironic isn’t it?) that they can play with justification if the US becomes directly involved. I was careful to write that Iran is not wanting, but *willing* to do this, in addition to striking US bases. It all depends on the US response. Will we return to a facade of normal civilized behaviour, or descend into high tech barbarism?

It is frustrating to read folks here continue to treat the US and Occupied Palestine as two independently operating entities…which is not true.
Let me repeat for the thick headed ones, The enemy for Russia in Ukraine, for China in Taiwan and for Iran in the ME is the same. Ukraine is the proxy element focused on Russia, Taiwan is the proxy element focused on China and Occupied Palestine is the proxy element focused on Iran/ME.
The only difference in the proxy war in the ME is the religious aspect but the core enemy is the same….the God Of Mammon cult as I call them.
Trump and Netayahoo are playing roles in a play they didn’t write of are producing. When Bibi dies soon because of his cancer another zionist will replace him with the same role playing as Bibi does.
So this kabuki about whether the US is involved in the Occupied Palestine events is laughable if it weren’t so sad to see so many fall for the story covering for fighting about public/private finance going forward in our world.

Thanks for your observation. I was referring to logistical depth, not political depth. With airfields and ports kaput, real difficult to resupply. Given all the Fog, the logistical issue is the main one I’ve discussed because it’s easier to speculate about since there’s actually more info available. If fact, I was writing about the Zionists lack of strategic depth once Ansarallah closed down the Red Sea and began the logistical siege which has greatly damaged the Zionist economy. Iran is able to supply itself, although it does have open doors to Russia, China and other trade partners.

“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”
As I wrote in my latest article (link below), all that Netanyahu has to do is…

Also, let’s not forget that this is exactly what happened in the past: I am referring to the so-called “USS Liberty incident”, an attack on a US Navy technical research ship (a spy ship) by Israeli Air Force jet fighter aircraft and Israeli Navy motor torpedo boats on 8th June 1967, during the Six-Day War”

Sakineh
These hadiths are based on earlier military propaganda. Even Heraclius believed he was a messiah who with God’s help will finally win over Persia.
What is relevant is rather the fact that the Old Testament states that Cyrus the Great was an anointed messiah of Yahwe because he punished the…always-full-of-sins Israelis.
This explains a lot the neurosis some there have with Iran. As Freud said in his book on Moses, the whole jewish religion is a failed attempt to kill the father.
He actually believed that the guy who wrote most of the Torah was an Egyptian priest of Akhenaton trying to spread the cult to Asiatic populations.

Posted by: Minaa | Jun 16 2025 4:45 utc | 650

I don’t think bombing Iran is going to achieve anything. Iran certainly studied what the Yemen endured, they’re ready, sadly a bunch of innocent civilians will be killed cause Trump will want it sloppy.
It’s pointless to guess, but it’s up to Trump, do we drop bombs, reach some. accord. and go home (with Israel taking major concessions) or does he fight it out (which would mean keeping rooted in the delusional status quo which Iran won’t accept, thus more fighting if sporadic metered between pointless “negotiations” with a madman. That later option will be the straw that breaks this donkey’s back and the asinine debt. This is William Faulkner, faded Southern Belle psychopathy unwinding an empire

Every munition used in West Asia will not be used against China.
China is the meta-game.
Iran is a lower-ranked Boss.
America has a real “order of operations” problem. It started with throwing billions of gear to Ukraine and now spending billions on Yemen and Iran.

When one loses sight of this, for whatever reason, one misses the Big Picture. All about ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’ and the Hegemon accepts nothing less. We are at war with said Hegemon whether one realises it or not. More than a few do not.

Posted by: Activist Potato | Jun 16 2025 3:58 utc | 625
I respect karlof1’s opinions because they have a track record. But while I’m not convinced that Israel is doing nothing else but the u.s.’s bidding, I think they have shown they have the backing of the u.s. mic and deep state, and so that strategic depth may not be allthat much lacking.
Posted by: Old Jake | Jun 16 2025 4:15 utc | 642

What if the whole point was for Israel to bitch slap Iran, with the intent they would savage Israel. The ultimate Hannibal Directive sacrifice. With massive media coverage of children being pulled from rubble, Israel will be assured of US taxpayer dollars for rebuilding, plus at least southern Syria and south of the Litani annexed to them.

Posted by: freedom fritos | Jun 16 2025 4:52 utc | 654

It is frustrating to read folks here continue to treat the US and Occupied Palestine as two independently operating entities…which is not true.
Let me repeat for the thick headed ones, The enemy for Russia in Ukraine, for China in Taiwan and for Iran in the ME is the same.
Posted by: psychohistorian | Jun 16 2025 4:31 utc | 660
Yes, yes, yes…we know that. But like any big corporation, or criminal organization, there are components, divisions that can be separated and discarded to protect or advance the real power. The United States is at a higher level than Israel, although they are aligned and act in concert. Some would say that one square mile in London runs the United States, but I think that is bullshit. No doubt, however, something is guiding the United States to act against its own sovereign interests over the past few decades. Whatever that is, is the real enemy. Having said that, the United States is more important than Israel, ultimately, although losing Israel would be a huge blow to the United States and the “Thing” that guides it. So, for purposes of this war, if the United States “enters” and lends its official assets, it is officially at risk, with all the liability that comes with failure. Better to jettison Israel and keep the real entity alive if victory is impossible.

America does its own version with its exceptionalism and president that always cite God and prayers as if he is always behind what they do. Western imperialists and colonialists did the same for centuries too, to justify their disgraceful practices, slavery, and theft. Even with Japan the US boasted to the people back home how the Japanese were being Christianised and turned into nice little Westerners even wearing Western clothes. That’s up until Pear Harbor.

Sorry I don’t deal well with scolds or self-appointed playground nags. Start your own blog or talk to b about having a talk with me about changing my ways. Look, I say this as someone who finds much with which to agree on your posts. But this isn’t MoA from 2011. It’s a different world, PH. I’m sorry to inconvenience you even in the least, but lecturing me is the best way to annoy me. I am a forum $ contributor. If you – as someone who has never managed a blog or comment section anywhere near on this scale – can come up with a concise and useful guide for when or when not to ID someone as a troll, and when – or when not to EVER – engage, I’ll be more than happy to consider it. Until then, you’re unwittingly part of the problem.

No, 🇮🇱 missile defenses won’t remain active like this for much longer

I agree with others that the ME situation is coming to a head. I see one or more nukes being used until MAD is enforced by China and Russia…..what does a MAD standoff look like?
How much military the US will lose leading up to the nuke use is unknown but likely to be significant…..maybe a carrier, eh?
And the results will carry over to the Ukraine and Taiwan circus rings.
This is a civilization war about public/private finance with the Western form of social organization being challenged by the China axis that treats finance as a public utility. Humanity is just fighting that war as a bunch of connected proxy events.

Just musing.
2025 Atlantic Trident exercise (June 16–27) via USAFE-AFAFRICA, deploying F-35As, F-15Es, and KC-135s likely to Finland.
That was the Game Plan 6 months ago. Get all these goodies into new NATO Finland… and then support F-16s into Ukraine?
So I’m musing if the Israeli attack on Iran was part of this European vacation tour for U$ aircraft?
Or if the Israeli’s acted independently, does this mean the aircraft in Finland now have to curtail or cancel what may have been plans to up the escalation against Russia in Ukraine?

Thanks for your observation. I was referring to logistical depth, not political depth. With airfields and ports kaput, real difficult to resupply. Given all the Fog, the logistical issue is the main one I’ve discussed because it’s easier to speculate about since there’s actually more info available. If fact, I was writing about the Zionists lack of strategic depth once Ansarallah closed down the Red Sea and began the logistical siege which has greatly damaged the Zionist economy. Iran is able to supply itself, although it does have open doors to Russia, China and other trade partners.

This fight, which has been brewing for decades, is about the future.

And Will Gruff’s mancrush, Donald J “Taco” Trump, is at the center of it all. Cutting deals and commanding the Imperial legionnaires.

Karl doesn’t really know Pete’s status.
All I can tell the @bar is no Peter Watson from Gippsland (or Australia) appears in funeral notices or the Victorian Births Deaths Marriages registry for the age range of our Peter, or the time period of his supposed demise.
– for those saying it’d be too hard to research…. Nah. Australia isn’t that big.
Peter Watsons born 1955-1965 in Australia …. There’s actually not that many.
Australia in 1960 had a population of 10million.
So the number of Australians born in Australia before, say, 1965 is a manageable cohort.
Years 1955-1965
Male
State
Spouse
Children
Grandchildren
All (most) would be listed in a funeral notice.
