Tic-Toc Thread On The War On Iran – 2

Machine translated from Hebrew:

Yossi Melman @yossi_melman – 5:50 UTC · Jun 15, 2025

The euphoria was brief. On Friday morning, I asked if it was even necessary to start a war with the Iranians. Shiites are historically willing to suffer. I mentioned their willingness to sacrifice as demonstrated in the 8 years of attrition with Iraq. I recommend that we cut our losses. Ask Trump to stop the scramble for a reasonable agreement. Otherwise, we’ll end up begging for a cease-fire and Iran will refuse.

Yossi Melman @yossi_melman – 6:22 UTC · Jun 16, 2025

There is no one to stop the madness. Ariel Kahana, political commentator for Israel Hayom, writes about Israel’s response plan to attack population centers: The IDF will announce in the coming hours an evacuation order for neighborhoods in Tehran. After that, the air force will bring down buildings, similar to what Israel did in Beirut.

Somewhere in Idaho a middle aged couple is thinking of their son.
Even when they aren’t consciously thinking of him he is always
there in the back of their minds.
They are proud that he is serving his country, concerned that
he is in the volatile Middle East.
They trust our country’s leaders to make the right decisions
about the use of our military forces.
Unbeknownst to them, their son has a target on his back.
Once again Netanyahu needs sacrificial lambs.
Israel and the US have on the drawing board plans for a false-flag.
Will it be activated or sit on a shelf?
Will Israel’s offensive against Iran have set backs such that
it must have the “US cavalry” come over the hill to
rescue the situation for Israel?
Trump will have plausible deniability. His Cabinet and
Joint Chiefs of Staff will trust that he will do
“the right thing”
when Israel attacks a US asset and it is blamed on Iran.
Somewhere in Idaho a middle aged couple has a son with a
target on his back c/o Netanyahu.

So why are all these US, UK, and German Kc135’s and Kc10’s and Kc46’s heading to Cyprus?
My answer to that is that the IDF aviation fuel tank farms have been hit by Iranian missiles strikes, and that the IDF is now critically short of that fuel type.
Thus the aerial tank relayn from Cyprus to keep the IDF fighter bombers in the air.
We have seen in the last few days photos of the Haifa tank farms in flames, and generally the aviation fuel for the IDF comes into the Haifa port via seaborne tankers from international sources.
Added to the loss of aircraft from Iranian AAD and maintenance issues the IDF is apparently experiencing some severe operational issues.

F-35s, F-16s, F-4s, Tornados, Typhoons, Rafales, Mirages, whatever.
There’s only so much jet fuel in theatre, and they all need maintenance.
NATO/ Izzy airforces don’t have the depth of forces to maintain round the clock operations like they used to (if they ever did) and like the RF does today.
They can only swarm for so long.

Both the RF and Pakistan have clearly stated that Iran is now under their nuclear umbrellas…….game, set and match.

I looked into it a quite a bit. Used rather than stooge I think.
Posted by: Peter AU1 | Jun 16 2025 14:04 utc | 146
Peter AU1 means that Khomeini was used when he closed the nuclear power projects or perhaps also used in a wider sense.
..
Well who was Khomeini?
According to linguists he spoke only 200 words of the ‘maternal’ language. I assume they meant Farsi.
And there are rumours that he was the son of British agent William Richard Williamsson from Bristol. According to his colleagues in the oil industry he went native and lived like a muslim with multiple wifes.
Some blogger pasted a picture of Khomeini with the barb removed and liked to demonstrate a seeming likeness with Sean Connery.
Khomeini’s son confirmed around 2011 that his fathers origin was not clear. Offically his father was from India but Khomeini was a tool for the anglosaxons with the Muslim Brotherhood as an important factor.
It could hardly escape his attention that he wasnt innocently used. The British gave him vast support transmitting his recorded speaches to Iran.
He was a fully aware accomplice of the anglosaxon regime change operation although the term may not have been as common at the time.
I think Lenin Khomeini and Julian Assange all were in a related situation. They all knew they were not innocents acting along their purehearted righteous agenda.
They might all have been thinking that they might do some good along the way and therefore accepted their dependence.

It is a HUGE deal to pledge to go to nuclear war for another country.
AI says:
A senior Iranian military official, General Mohsen Rezaei of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed on June 16, 2025, that Pakistan would launch a nuclear attack on Israel if Israel uses nuclear weapons against Iran.
This statement was made during an interview on Iranian state television amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel following recent airstrikes by Israel on Iranian military and nuclear facilities.
Pakistan has denied making any such assurance to Iran regarding nuclear retaliation against Israel.
The Pakistani Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, reaffirmed that Pakistan supports Iran diplomatically and morally but has not issued any official statement endorsing the use of nuclear weapons against Israel.

Israel, as others have pointed out, doesn’t have air tanker.
They must have external assistance.
Why the US send tankers is yet to be seen.
Strategic bombers in Diego Garcia, that can carry the 12ton bunker buster, should have enough range to not need refueling and, by the way there are some tankers in DG as well.

Berletic has been saying this for months and it makes perfect sense.
The problem is that I do not believe the US/Israel will allow Iran to end the conflict. Precisely because if the conflict ends, they lose and Iran wins.

DUBAI—Iran has been urgently signaling that it seeks an end to hostilities and resumption of talks over its nuclear programs, sending messages to Israel and the U.S. via Arab intermediaries, Middle Eastern and European officials said.

Meanwhile, what the Iranians have REALLY said.

“The Iranians informed Qatari and Omani mediators that they will only pursue serious negotiations once Iran has completed its response to the Israeli pre-emptive strikes,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the conflict….The official also dismissed media reports suggesting that Iran had asked Oman and Qatar to involve the United States in brokering a ceasefire or to revive nuclear negotiations, calling such claims inaccurate.
Requests for comment from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, as well as Qatar’s and Oman’s foreign ministries, were not immediately answered.

Two days ago, Israel assassinated nine Iranian scientists — university professors and researchers — in targeted airstrikes. Some of them were killed together with their families. Western media is acting as if this is an act of war.
Yet, this is a war crime, here’s why. 🧵 1/
2/ Under international law, these scientists are civilians. A university professor does not lose civilian status simply because their expertise may have military applications.
3/ Unless they are active members of the armed forces or directly participating in hostilities at the time, scientists are protected under the Geneva Conventions.
3/ This principle exists to safeguard academics, engineers, and researchers everywhere from becoming expendable targets in geopolitical conflicts.
https://x.com/Aboujahjah/status/1934205442911269257
4/ Not just in Iran, Palestinian scholars, engineers and even doctors in Gaza have repeatedly been assassinated or killed in airstrikes on universities and research centers.
In various countries, experts in nuclear and missile research were also assassinated by Israel.
5/ Yet, where is the indignation of the global academic community? Where are the statements from universities, scientific associations, human rights defenders, and those who claim to defend academic freedom?
6/ One must ask: Would the silence be the same if another state killed nine Israeli or Western professors in their offices or laboratories?
7/ Academic freedom must not be selective. The principle of distinction under international humanitarian law must apply equally to all.
https://x.com/Aboujahjah/status/1934206981734101486
8/ The targeted killing of scholars sets a dangerous precedent that threatens civilian expertise worldwide, irrespective of nationality or political context. Again and again, Israeli criminal practices and the impunity it enjoys are a danger to all.
This impunity must end.

The Israeli government has banned outbound flights. The Zionist hoi polloi are trapped. If 2 million people leave Israel is done. They can’t allow that.
Wait until the retiring Nimitz is used as a false flag.
Things are just starting to get good.

“The WSJ” – You might as well cite the NY Times.
Are you actually not yet aware that these publications are functionally CIA operations?
Do you dispute that view?
What sense would it make for Iran to have gotten to the point where they are and then signal capitulation?

You keep saying that but the reality is they have to pace themselves, or they will run out of missiles. They may want to keep missiles in case other countries get involved, or they’re waiting to find out when missile defense is depleted, at which point they can send the cheaper stuff.
And they’re using a lot. How many missiles so far? 2000?

Iranian missiles struck Israel’s Tel Aviv and the port city of Haifa before dawn, destroying homes and fuelling concerns among world leaders at this week’s G7 meeting that the confrontation could lead to a broader regional conflict.

I believe that the proper context would be:
Iran has signaled that, if there are to be any further negotiations, they will no longer consider any limitations on their ability to enrich uranium nor to develop nuclear weapons should they chose to do so and that they will no longer host the IAEA – which has been spying for the west.
So it is rather extreme resolve is what they are sowing, at this point.
That aside, they remain receptive to negotiations.

CANADA – In a stark warning amid rising conflict in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump said today that Iran “will not win this war” and urged Tehran to enter nuclear negotiations before irreversible damage occurs.
“They should talk before it is too late.” He added, “Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left,” underscoring the potential devastation if the conflict continues unchecked.
https://vinnews.com/2025/06/16/president-trump-warns-iran-you-will-not-win-this-war-urges-immediate-talks/
Comment: Everyone who knows anything about the current events and their long history knows that the attack on Iran has nothing to do with any negotiations, but everything to do with the elimination of Iran as an obstacle to US/Israel complete control over the Middle East and the prevention of the process that is birthing a new system of multi-nodal international relations, with Iran as one of the pillars.
– On another note – Once again, in order to keep this blog relevant please be focused, refrain from petty comments and squabbles because we are not actually in a bar where that is not as disruptive, and do not post propaganda but reliable sourced comments.
For example, it is untrue that the Iranian parliament voted to exit the NPT.

This is a point of no return.
Israel made a grave mistake today by targeting Iran’s identity. This step will likely push Iranian decision-makers to seek redemption in the name of the majority of Iranians—both pro and contra the ruling system—living inside Iran.
Israel aimed to shut down the TV station to pave the way for anti-Iranian government elements living abroad, who may be preparing for a coup with Israel’s support.
Tonight promises to be hellish, with the expected emergence of new Iranian missiles, never before seen, projected to be launched in the darkness.

Strike on Iranian TV📝
According to incoming reports, the strike on the building of the Iranian state television IRIB resulted in 18 deaths.
🖍The strike occurred during a live broadcast, which, as the channel’s representatives later stated, they consciously did not interrupt, despite knowing about the threat. IRIB quickly resumed broadcasting after the attack.
🚩Of course, according to Article 79 of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, journalists are protected even in the zone of military conflict, but these rules do not seem to apply to Israel: two hundred killed journalists in the Gaza Strip were simply working for Hamas, so it happened. Iranian journalists are also a legitimate target, according to Israel.
In fact, Israel committed another war crime live on air. Even taking into account the mocking warning about the evacuation.
❗️The death of journalists and the destruction of media infrastructure during the attack disrupts the flow of critically important information, and with the simultaneous disconnection of communication and the Internet, this can cause mass panic, disorientation of the population and chaos. However, this is apparently what Israel is trying to achieve.
📌The defeat of the media center during the broadcast is not only a physical attack, but also an information and psychological operation, the goal of which is to suppress independent or state broadcasting, to destroy the symbolic control over the public narrative, especially given that the target was the state broadcasting corporation.

I believe that Donald Trump is screwed away — and that couldn’t happen to a nicer man.
My assumption is that among donors and billionaires, a vast consensus of them are urging him to go to war. He cannot survive without those people. There is no future for him if Iran defeats Israel and the later depopulates. There’s also much of congress and the senate, they’re very reluctantly indulging him in his allegedly slow-walking aid to Ukraine, but they won’t do that for Israel.
But it’s clear that much of the MAGA base will not forgive him. I see the posts from MTG, Carlson, and others, and I just don’t think the public support is there to lose 5 aircraft carriers, 25,000 soldiers, and pay $40/gallon for gas, etc. He ran as the peace president and a lot of people took that seriously.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place. He will make the same decision that Kamala Harris would have made.

If the Chinese and Russians played their cards right, they have the means and opportunity to take out every single F-xx, AWACS and fuel tanker over Iraq by providing Iran with the right S-400 and HQ-9 systems.
Every. Single. One.
For that matter, Iran could do the same, judging by the way Iran took down Trump’s Global Hawk all those years ago.
Question is, why don’t they appear to be doing the same right now?
Or, are they … ?
