The last two weeks corresponding to the start of the 12 day war has seen a significant jump in reports of “critical incidents” (mass casualty events) for the IDF.
Why might this be? Perhaps:
a) Operation True Promise III forced the IDF to draw resources away from Gaza, allowing the resistance to reorient and gain better ambush positions?
b) Iran and others were able to funnel more resources to the resistance via previously blocked routes?
I think a bit of both.
The question now is:
“how has Iran’s retaliation damaged israel’s operations in the Gaza strip and can the IDF both recover and prepare for the next Iranian operation?”
In any case, I forsee weeks of IDF mass casualties to come until the IDF recovers from the operational shock of the 12 day war …
(We will not speak of Hezbollah now)

They were brand new when I saw them. Lots of buzz. Went to Wax Tax Records and with my vinyl purchase they handed me free tickets. OK, Sunday night, walking distance, why not? Within minutes of arriving discovered everyone was there on a free ticket.. Half industry people, half club regulars. But no one paid.
And it was a snooze. No applause whatsoever. Best review from an audience member was “B+ rock and roll”. The industry types were telling me there was tons of promo and push behind this band. There were supposed to be two sets, audience so unresponsive they left stage fifteen minutes into second set. Not even one moment when audience or musicians seemed to much care.
If the star maker machinery keeps on telling you they are stars then they are stars.

There’s an automated spam filter at work here, which sometimes catches a legit post; it happens to all of us. b reviews the spam folder periodically and unblocks most of the legit posts manually, but in case of multiple similar entries he will only unblock one of them. It’s best to wait for this unblocking to occur, not least because you will train the blocking script on your handle if you try to post repeatedly. If a conversation is fluid, I recommend to write a follow-up formatted differently to get behind the filter.
I assume blocking posters works by manually entering them into the script data base.

According to Israeli media, Israel & Syria will sign a peace agreement before the end of 2025. Traders at polymarket also see high probabilities this happens.
It looks like Al-Jolani will soon walk to Jerusalem (but not the way expected back in the days)
Under the reported agreement, Israel will gradually withdraw from all Syrian territory it seized after invading the buffer zone on December 8, 2024, including the peak of Mount Hermon, but no retreat from the Syrian Golan.

Settler violence turns inward: IOF attacked, security post burned
Dozens of Israeli settlers torched a security site and clashed with the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank late Sunday, deepening a growing internal rift within “Israel” amid rising settler violence against Palestinians.
The unrest comes just days after settlers physically assaulted a senior Israeli army officer near the village of Kafr Malik, with the attack culminating in multiple coordinated attacks against Israeli forces and infrastructure, as per Israeli media.
Settlers gathered outside the Binyamin Regional Brigade base, some carrying a banner accusing the battalion commander of treason. They hurled rocks, sprayed mace, and slashed army vehicle tires in an attempt to storm the base. The Israeli army responded with stun grenades to disperse the crowd, but no arrests were made, Israeli media reported.
Separately, settlers set fire to a security facility near Ramallah, which the Israeli military said was used to “thwart terror attacks and maintain security.” Despite the severity of the attack, the Shin Bet has yet to announce any arrests, as per the Israeli media.

A report published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz has revealed that private contractors hired by the Israeli army are being paid 5,000 shekels (approximately $1,500) for every Palestinian home they demolish in the Gaza Strip. The report further alleges that decisions have been made on the ground that deem the killing of Palestinian civilians, including those searching for food, as acceptable to secure this payment. An Israeli soldier currently deployed in Gaza told Haaretz: “Every private contractor working in Gaza with engineering equipment earns 5,000 shekels for each house they destroy. They’re making a lot of money.”
He continued: “Any time they’re not demolishing houses is a financial loss, and the Israeli army has to keep them working.”
According to the soldier’s account, the contractors’ campaign of destruction brings them and their small security units dangerously close to humanitarian aid distribution points set up by the US and the Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. These sites are frequently crowded with Palestinians in urgent need of food and assistance.
The report indicated that, in order to ensure their own safety, contractors provoke security incidents to receive additional military protection, which often results in Israeli soldiers opening fire on Palestinians gathered near these aid sites. These incidents have led to the deaths of several civilians suffering from hunger.
The article concludes: “In order for a contractor to earn an additional 5,000 shekels, a decision is made that it’s acceptable to kill Palestinian individuals who are looking for food.”
