The internet is a privately owned and operated public utility. I am a bit surprised we have not seen more traffic manipulation than we are seeing. The internet is a theatre of our civilization war but a lot of the battles are hidden so far. I don't doubt that traffic to individual IP addresses can have their packets, routes and such corrupted in ways hard to trace.
At some point the whole private web will go down and hopefully come back up as sovereign pockets and then networks of countries.....communication is a public utility just like finance.....the US founding fathers made the pony express a socialist part of America.

So Kiev kidnaps Russian civilians in Russia to exchange them for Ukrainians that were captured in Russia. Isn't that what terrorist groups do when they kidnap civilians, hold them hostage and then say that we want our comrades free?
Add that to arming terrorist groups in Mali and ISIS-K attacks on shopping centres, and Ukraine has gone full terrorist state.

The Russian MOD site has been getting harder and harder to access for at least 3 months now.
I guess a continued DoD attack.
Rumour has it that 100 pcs and laptop all connected with a site called moonofalabama.org are spamming it at this very moment.

Im sorry for Ukraine tho, We have such good lifes here that we have become lazy dogs. Keep grinding them, and if you survive this ordeal, everything points to Ukraine becoming Europe's new spear thanks to Trump, ensuring future investment of trillions of euros in its military infrastructure.

The myth of the stinger gets repeated yet again.
The stinger was of limited effectiveness against aircraft in the Afgan war. Using it against aircraft, especially the hind, proved to be near suicidal. The smoke trail in produce allowed immediate targeting of the person who fired it. After shields were installed over the exhausts of helicopters they had a poor chance of causing critical damage and the mujahadin took to using them against light armored vehicles like BMP-1. The prime weapon used to shoot down Soviet aircraft were 23mm twin barreled autocannons that did not give away the firing position. All purchased from Yugoslavia.

Pretty smart by the Russians. The fact that the cheap Ukr drones rely on commercial cell networks to navigate is a vulnerability. Cell tower "spoofing" could also be used in some applications.

1) open the website
2) click "ctrl" and "a" (click first "ctrl" and stay on "ctrl" and then click on "a") - now every word on the website should be highlighted
3) now click on the right mouse-button and a pop opens, with different choices to click, one should read "translate selection into english" or something similiar to that, I translated it from German
4) another pop up opens and the translation start in this pop up.
5) by click in this pop up on "translate entire page" or similiar (again translate form German), the translation pop up closes and the whole site is now in the language of your choice
This is how it works with my pc. If you have different system / release etc. it may differ. Furthermore, English is not my first language, so I apologize for the clumsy explanation. Maybe someone can explain it better.

Inspired by Moscow's 72-hour ceasefire, Zelensky now wants to get in on the action by calling for a 30-day ceasefire *beyond* the 72 hours-?
A bid for Minsk 3.0 is a losing bid.
Ceasefires energize the neo-Nazi elements of the Kiev regime.
Efforts to pre-empt Russia's battlefield gains are performative. The Euro-supported neo-Nazis beliee that if they just hold the line they'll be able to fend off Russia. They don't want to quit too soon.
Too little. Too late. Too opportunistic.
Russia cannot allow rump-Ukraine to be a threat on Russia's doorstep.

30 days really wouldn't do much for AFU -- it's not enough time to recruit & train significant personnel nor make a difference on armor & munitions since they're already getting everything NATO can give them.
The ulterior motive has always been "quiet time" to introduce EU troops as a trip-wire. It's the only hope Z has left.
Russia sees right through it. Brilliant move announcing a 3-day truce, again catching EU flat-footed and exposing the clown Zelensky.

trump on his personal mouthpiece twitter alternative:
Talks with Russia/Ukraine continue. The U.S. calls for, ideally, a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. Hopefully, an acceptable ceasefire will be observed, and both Countries will be held accountable for respecting the sanctity of these direct negotiations. If the ceasefire is not respected, the U.S. and its partners will impose further sanctions. Thousands of young soldiers are dying on a weekly basis, and everybody should want it to STOP. I do, and the United States of America does, also. As President, I will stay committed to securing Peace between Russia and Ukraine, together with the Europeans, and a Lasting Peace it will be! This ceasefire must ultimately build toward a Peace Agreement. It can all be done very quickly, and I will be available on a moment’s notice if my services are needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
i bolded the relevant parts.
he still pushed that 30day unvonditional ceasefire, as usual. only their narrative matters.
both countries will be held accountable if that imaginative ceasefire happens? is he starting to get bidens dementia? since when did the us held ukraine for anything accountable? pathetic clown.
more sanctions as usual, and highly likely only on russia and probably on the rest of the world as some secondary sanctions or tariffs or whatever this clown does next.
and lastly, "with the europeans". does this also include the russians, as they are also "europeans"? i bet this idiot doesnt get it.
biden 2.0.

It is important to remember that NATO is unified in fighting Russia.
This idea that the Europeans are working independently is a farce, IMO.
Trump will never leave NATO. The Senate and MIC won't stand for it.
Trump is trying to feed NATO troops into the conflict. That, IMO, is obvious.

RE: "quiet time" in order to introduce Reassurance Forces
<<
DJT is now calling for a 30-day ceasefire and is willing to impose further sanctions "if not respected."
This represents a *twist* in the diplomacy, for sure, but it has little hope of affecting matters on the battlefield.
It is difficult to understand why a *ceasefire* is indeed necessary in order to jump-start negotiations.
So a ceasefire is in itself a non-starter.
Moreover, Kiev and Moscow and engage in direct negotiations---without preconditions, as Russia has stated---without a ceasefire. No barrier there.
Peculiarly, the U.S., in the person of DJT, still tries to insert itself in the proceedings. I think we can all see the problematics.
First of all, weirdly, DJT cannot delegate this to JD or to Sec Rubio. Domestic issues command his attention. It is *okay* to allow JD or Sec Rubio to take the lead.
Secondarily, the U.S., as a belligerent, is a 5th wheel in potential negotiations. In that it *is* a belligerent, it cannot serve neutrally in the mediator role.
It would be really tough for the U.S. at this point to seek an unbiased mediator, but that is exactly what could help matters alone.
Moreover, the point is this: the U.S.-led West provoked Russia into waging a war which the U.S.-led West *cannot& afford to lose.
Tell me what's delusional in this calculus.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 22:41 utc | 51
That Project Ukraine is a *bone* DJT can't stop worrying probably tells us something about it--Project Ukraine--or the pressure he is under.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 22:47 utc | 52
A must read- nice article, but isn't something missing
https://www.npr.org/2025/05/08/nx-s1-5388244/europe-80th-anniversary-ve-day-wwii
I think I remember that the EU, to counter DIS- and MIS- information from May 1. 25. would enforce strickter control over the media to protect us.
Posted by: Paul from Norway | May 8 2025 22:48 utc | 53
I mean, DJT's public statements---in the absence of any comment coming out of Moscow---represent unforced errors.
He's continuing to dig a deeper hole for himself.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 22:49 utc | 54
A decent media campaign could shield DJT from direct inquiries about Project Ukraine and the U.S.'s intentions going forward.
That that is not happening indicates some kind of glitch in the PR system.
Meeting w/ dignitaries in the Oval, DJT continues to make unforced errors relative to Project Ukraine, which in itself represents a *losing* issue among the MAGA acolytes.
Why would this be the case-?
It is strange that DJT would continue to devote so much mental real estate to this debacle.

Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 22:49 utc | 54

True but no one cares. People don't care about the genocide. They hardly care that Trump is a compulsive liar.
And he knows it. He is a master of distraction, as soon as he screws up something, he creates a scandal over something trivial to change the conversation.
People will care when their quality of life takes a hit.
It's not like a lame duck President can be recalled. The Don is untouchable now, and he knows that too.
Posted by: LoveDonbass | May 8 2025 22:58 utc | 56
It is strange that DJT would continue to devote so much mental real estate to this debacle.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 22:54 utc | 55
Exactly. Some had said that given his being nearly killed and his lame-duck status that he doesn't give a f**k about who he pisses off, but in that case he should be able to tell everyone to f**k off including Zelensky and his acolytes in DC, EU, etc. So why doesn't he? In his position I'd hunting those that tried to tell me what to do, not bowing to them.
Posted by: TJandTheBear | May 8 2025 23:03 utc | 57
It is notable that scarcely a day goes by without DJT or one of his surrogates, like Sec Bessent or JD, weighing in substantially on Project Ukraine.
Even now, in a Russian-fronted *ceasefire* DJT cannot seem to pivot to other political matters, even if only for a couple of days. It's not as if domestic issues aren't clamoring for his attention, right-? Two days, maybe three. Is it too much to ask-?
World leaders have descended upon Moscow in anticipation of a sterling celebration of the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazism in the U.S., so obviously the Kremlin will *back-burner* any statements coming from the U.S., not out of disrespect of course but simply to acknowledged that more pressing matters command attention in the Russian capitol right now.
It is distinctly odd to see DJT continue to worry this bone.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 23:15 utc | 58
That DJT continues to worry this bone---the bone of Project Ukraine---indicates the degree of capture as well as stature.
Project Ukraine, living rent-free in DJT's head, redirects his attention from other solvable issues, perhaps more pressing ones to boot.
Posted by: steel_porcupine | May 8 2025 23:18 utc | 59
not out of disrespect of course

RE: they're putting the "collective west" on hold...because they can
<<
You nailed it.
When it is run by the "unwavering" support the U.S. shows Israel, foreign policy under DJT goes off without a hitch--but when U.S. foreign policy ventures into murkier terrain, which Project Ukraine certainly introduces, then DJT's lack of expertise, lack of chops, lack of a *deep bench* of diplomats, stands out embarrassingly.
He can't quit trying for the Brass Ring, however.
There's so much cringe right now you might break your teeth.

2. Off on the next pointless psychopathic war and kill thousands or even millions of people. Hopefully not many US personnel.

Yes, sure. It's working:
Russian Defence Ministry reports on the progress of the special military operation (8 May 2025)Before the ceasefire came into effect, units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware clusters of one tank brigade, three mechanised brigades, one assault regiment of the AFU, and two territorial defence brigades near Ryzhevka, Pavlovka, Yunakovka, Miropolye, Turya (Sumy region), and Velikiy Burluk (Kharkov region).
The AFU losses amounted to up to 215 troops, two tanks, five armoured fighting vehicles, 11 motor vehicles, one counterobstacle vehicle, four field artillery guns, and one ammunition depot.
..and so on..

The article marks March 18 as the end of Germany's democracy, it says, in effect, the will of the people will no longer be relevant.. IMO, removing voters from input to government has already happened or is in advanced stages of happening in many Westernized Nation State governments.. do what the powerful few say or else. Is the Israeli government an example of such a government?
According to my read, constitutional limits on government debt have been removed.." German leadership will force Germany's 83 million people into a NATO war against Russia and on and on..
IMO, Putin's slow go in Ukraine, and Germany's recent election, has enabled the powerful few to organize the entire western NATO and European world against Russia.
very interesting article.

Trump wants a 30 day unconditional ceasefire he said today.

Just ducky.

Trump is isolated. No big beautiful trade deals are forthcoming (the UK doesn’t count because it’s irrelevant economically in the 21 century.)
He’s about to lose the midterms and cave on tariffs. He’s a lame duck. He has no cards and can be safely ignored by Putin now.

Stab in Back
Every now and then, someone will mention the possibility that if Ukraine loses, its people will feel the country was stabbed in the back. This refers to the widespread opinion in Germany after World War I that some secret group stabbed Germany in its back.
You can understand that emotion looking at the picture of the western front lines at the end of World War I. The fighting never entered Germany. John Thomason wrote in "Fix Bayonets!", an autobiographical account of his time as a U.S. Marine fighting on the western front, of entering Germany after the Armistice, "The land was all in cultivation, laid off in precise squares and oblongs; some newly ploughed. . . 'An' those little towns back yonder, with the arches an' the flags and the welcome returnin' heroes stuff - none of that was for us" . . . "Look at this country - winter ploughin' done - everything ship-shape - no shell holes - no trenches - no barb' wire - who the hell won this war anyway?"
On crossing the Rhine, "For four years no hostile troops with arms in their hands had seen this river; only sad files of prisoners had crossed it, under German guard. . . . There were round-faced little girls with straw-colored braids, in cloaks. They did not look poorly fed, like the waxen-faced children the battalion remembered in France. And at every corner there were more of them."
The German civilians saw no war on their land in World War I. They had no lived experience with defeat. So, in their mind, Germans had no reason to think they lost the war. So, somebody must have stabbed Germany in its back.
This is not the situation in Ukraine. The people of Ukraine have experienced bombing while hiding in subway stations. They have experienced power outages and the destruction of their industry. They have listened to the bombastic announcements of Ukrainian success in shooting down every missile and drone sent by Russia while also looking at the destruction caused by those so-called "shot down" Russian missiles and drones. The Ukrainians have seen their cemeteries grow, their men snatched off the street, the failure of Ukraine in Bakhmut, the failure of the 2023 Ukrainian counter-offensive, the failure of the 2024 Kursk offensive, and Russia's slow and inexorable devouring of more and more "Ukrainian" land.
I can guarantee that when Russia launches its final offensive to finish off the Ukrainian army, whenever that happens, the Ukrainian people will know they lost the war. They will have devastated villages and farms. Their industry will be in shambles. Their government will be discredited.
This is everything that did not happen in Germany in World War I. Therefore, there will be no widespread "Stabbed in the Back" legend in Ukraine.

As of about 10:00 PM Thursday evening, 08 May 2025, there are 244 Helicopters airborne over the United States, with 111 of them being MILITARY.
This is amazingly unusual - and quite worrisome. Who is going where in these Helicopters at this hour????
Are the "Bigshots" being "bugged-out?" Taken to secure locations????
With "Victory Day" beginning in Russia today, along with its annual massive gathering of troops and dignitaries in Moscow's Red Square, Ukraine has soured the day with word they "cannot guarantee the safety of Red Square for the Victory Day celebration."
It is already well-known that Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federations Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said "if Red Square is attacked on May 9, there won't be a May 10 in Kiev."
It is also well known that NATO has said, if Russia uses a nuclear weapon against Ukraine, and radiation drifts through the air into a NATO country, they will consider that to be an "attack upon NATO" and enter the Ukraine war.
Russia has said that if NATO declares Article 5 collective self defense against Russia, the people of the West "will die so fast they won't have time to pray."
As this story publishes, it is 10:52 PM eastern US time and 5:53 AM, May 9, in Moscow. Just hours away from the start of Russia's annual "Victory Day."
Today could be . . . . . . historic.

Just enough time for the erratic Orange man to slip in more weapons, US officers and intelligence, and be as duplicitous as he has always been with the Russians and efforts for genuine peace. Something like this is clearly why Zelensky suddenly agrees out of the blue. Ordinary Russians are scathing of the marmalade man now.

From what I have heard Russia has been on high alert for sometime now. This is garnered from signals in Russian code that have been picked up. I think if the tried a nuclear attack on Ukraine a Sarmat may go off towards the US. Then we are all stuffed.

RE: Stabbed in the back
<<
Good synthesis in your write-up.
Interestingly, the UK’s retired Col Richard Kemp does in fact see “backstabbers” hovering over Project Ukraine, and purporting to speak for all Europeans, he knows exactly who Stabbed Ukraine In The Back the hardest—-and that was Joe-!
In an interview w/ the BBC, Joe Biden accused President Trump of appeasing Russia over Ukraine. “Well,” Col Kemp explains, “Biden certainly knows all about appeasement. It was the hallmark of his presidency and accounts for much of the instability in Europe today. Before Putin invaded, Biden sent the worst possible signal, seeming to suggest that a “minor incursion” might not be too big a deal.”
The chatteratti in various substack threads & blog posts have fretted that the *loss* in Project Ukraine will be laid squarely @ DJT’s doorstep, but Col Kemp is vigorously engaged in shaping what seems the outline of a criminal indictment against Joe instead:
“He gave Ukraine just enough to enable the AFU to defend against Russia but far from sufficient to achieve much more than prolonging the bloodbath. Biden may have treated Zelensky nicely in the White House but every plea for battle-winning weapons was met by months of procrastination and delay. That included tanks, ATACMS long-range missiles and F16 combat planes, all of which, if delivered rapidly and in sufficient quantities, could have turned the tide."
Note the wishcasting in the phrase "could have turned the tide." Endemic to those who Finger The Backstabbers is the need to cling bitterly to the notion that 'things would have been different if only, if only...' Had Joe done such & such, had Joe sent blah-blah equipment:
“Furthermore, every offensive weapon that was provided was grudgingly handed over with the caveat that it couldn’t be used against targets on Russian soil, a restriction only partially eased late last year. With Putin launching assault after assault from his side of the border, that really did force Ukraine to fight with one hand tied behind its back. And it was all down to appeasement and fear in the White House in the face of never-ending bombast from the Kremlin.”
So for Col Kemp, the backstabbing came in the form of negligence, doing too little and always too late. Moreover, Col Kemp accuses Joe of knee-capping NATO:
“Biden’s record brought Nato to a lower point than at any time since its creation after the Second World War. It began with his catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Not only was that one of the worst military humiliations the US has ever known, it also resoundingly demonstrated Nato’s impotence. Despite efforts by Britain to persuade other alliance members to remain in place, there was not a single taker. And that display of weakness on both sides of the Atlantic encouraged Putin to launch his full-scale invasion of Ukraine.”
Notice in the above statement, Col Kemp casts his fellow Brits in a heroic light, further distancing his countrymen from the Backstabbing Debacle of Biden. Still, the future looks bleak indeed: “Today Nato is staring down the barrel of yet another defeat. Despite repeated public commitments to the defence of Ukraine, it has shown its powerlessness during three years of war as Russia continues to push forward on European soil.”
Wowza-! The Blame Game is on, and Col Kemp is launching his strident opening salvo: Joe Did Too Little.
This is a sentiment I’ve heard voiced in Regime Media stateside since DJT won the 2024 election. The NY-er magazine has done a series of in-depth articles expressing the outrage Ukrainian citizens felt @ the slow/measured support they received militarily from Joe, so Col Kemp is boosting a storyline that is already implanted within the legacy media.
In light of Joe’s demonstrable negligence over nearly 3 years—-“demonstrable” in the view of those who subscribe to Col Kemp’s narrative, which is that Joe did too little—DJT’s chaotic & peripatetic arm-flappingly constant attention to *peace talks* is going to emerge on the ‘up’ side when deciding who the actual Backstabber was.

UK’s retired Col Richard Kemp….. has forgotten that this was supposed to be a proxy war.
They were supposed to maintain the pretence it was poor lil Ukraine fighting big bad Russia alone.. it was a “look, no hands” war… but as Russia ripped through the Ukrainian armaments and men under arms, the pretence and veneer has stripped away, so Kemp forgets he’s not supposed to admit it was FUKUS-NATO-and a kennel of lapdogs all fighting Russia.

Asked during a presser in the Oval after signing the UK economic deal whether a meeting w/ VVP will happen next week in Riyadh, DJT replied, “I don’t think so. But we’re having very good conversations. Very, very good.”
Perhaps phone-based jaw-jaw is happening somewhere… Witkoff’s last sit-down w/ VVP was on 25 April, and Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov characterized the 3-hour conversation as “constructive and very useful.”
Hmmm.
JD told Fox News that Ukraine wants a ceasefire, because the prospects on the battlefield are not in Kiev’s favor. Lavrov has cautioned, however, against a ceasefire merely to allow the AFU to re-arm and regroup: they’re losing; why would the winner agree to this-? It would be a faux ceasefire in essence.
Peskov said on 8 May that Russia wants its national interests to be taken into account “so that the root causes of the conflict are eliminated. This is very important, because it is directly related to guarantees of our security.”
Although JD says this is “Moscow asking for too much,” we see Russia playing a longer game—-by which I mean w/ a need to provide for its future security on the line—and a more thorough game.
Russia is best positioned right now to push through on its SMO objectives. Russia of course does not expect the U.S. to help because the U.S. is a belligerent—-neither does Russia ask for help, by the way.
The *asking* Russia is doing on the battlefield *is* the 'ask'—and that amounts to an alfa-sierra-sierra kicking.

RE: Col Kemp forgets this was a *proxy* war
<<
Well put.
Russia of course was doing the Frontstabbing---mulching the AFU on the LOC, burning up the equipment, turning German tanks named after big cats into metal sculpture for Moscow's Victory Park.
But Col Kemp can't/won't laud & applaud Russia for its battlefield prowess.
Which means he must search for the Backstabber that actually took Project Ukraine down---not the Russia Forces by any means.

While DJT says he will ask China to help w/ Ukraine conflict resolution, Xi, speaking in Moscow, has called for the "root causes" of the conflict to be eliminated.
Perhaps DJT notices that his Diplomacy Cupboard is bare and he needs to tap some next-level expertise, which China's foreign ministry certainly represents.
VVP "highly appreciated" Xi's approach, according to RT, and reiterated that Russia remains open to peace talks without preconditions.
To which Xi said, that "as long as China and Russia adhere to strategic cooperation, no force can stop the two countries from achieving their own development and revitalization."
Sounds like great vibes coming from Red Square.

I just think it is the usual Trump duplicity. He's the good and bad cop all in one. It's how he seems to operate this time around flipping and flopping. He's talking about seeking Xi Jinping's counsel on Ukraine while planning war against China at the same time according to other sources. He's been playing hot and cold with Zelensky all the way along cutting ties and making negative comments about him then caving in an giving more weapons and other deals like the newest nonsense about more F-16s. He's been doing exactly the same with the Russians, acting like a friend then helping Ukraine with its terror attacks on Russia itself. Xi Jinping will play along but like Biden he knows full well when a US leader speaks with a forked tongue.

So, it is time for a riddle.
If last year's Victory Parade was "proof of Russia's overwhelming loses and weakness", because they've ascetically rolled a single T-34 tank - how much coke is required for Western so-called-journalists to explain where did all this flood of showcased equipment suddenly come from?
The banderites will obviously claim - "It's all cardboard and fake!" as usual. I do welcome other guesses.

Germany went pretty hungry during WW1.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turnip_Winter
"Malnourishment and illness claimed thousands of lives, mainly those of civilians and wounded soldiers who had returned to the home front. A notable marker of the harsh conditions in Germany was a spike in female mortality, which increased by 11.5% in 1916 and 30% in 1917 when compared to pre-war rates."
