News & views related to the war in Palestine …

The United States seems keen to solidify it’s reputation as the foremost fascist power of human history, as it aids and abets the starvation siege of a trapped civilian population.
The reprehensible immorality displayed by the craven and venal leaders of the West and the US in particular will stain us all indelible, forever. And the inevitable consequences of this monstrous action performed by religious supremacists and aided by the ‘shining city on the hill’ will reverberate for centuries.
For shame. Shame on us all. The nazis at least hid their crimes. The new world order murderers do it in the open, with the cowardly tools that enable killing at a distance.
And doubt it not, all of us are Palestinians. For if such monstrosity is accepted, whither the world? You think you’re somehow safe because you live in Buttfuck, USA? Think again. This evil will consume the world.

Until decency returns for the Palestinians, I will observe decency for no nation on earth.
If the world will watch as they burn – then let the world burn and I will watch and laugh.

The Houthi’s must be doing something right – for the Yanks to be so upset.
“US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has blamed Iran for arming Houthi fighters in Yemen, warning that Tehran will face consequences at the time and place of Washington’s choosing.
US President Donald Trump launched a large-scale air and naval strike campaign against the Houthis in March with a declared goal of protecting shipping in the Red Sea. The group, which Washington describes as “Iran-backed,” had been targeting commercial vessels off Yemen’s coast as part of its strategy of putting pressure on Israel over its military operation in Gaza.
Hegseth addressed Tehran in a message on X on Thursday, saying: “We see your lethal support to the Houthis. We know exactly what you are doing.””

Reading between the lines on this one – the proscribed terrorist outfit (HTS) head-choppers running Syria, met some resistance from the people that they are trying to ethnically cleanse – and called in the Zio-Monsters to bomb them.
“Syria’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham-led (HTS) administration has rejected all forms of “foreign intervention” in the country’s affairs after an Israeli strike hit a town near the capital Damascus, amid deadly sectarian violence.
The Foreign Ministry of the ruling regime issued a statement on Wednesday after the Israeli air raid killed one member of the HTS-aligned General Security and one civilian in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya, southwest of Damascus.
The Israeli attack followed clashes between the regime’s militants and members of the Druze minority that have killed dozens of people in two days.
The ministry said it dismissed “all forms of foreign intervention,” but it did not explicitly mention Israel.”

The Yanks trying to blacken the name of the UNRWA – by trying to head turn folk away from the Zio-Monsters war crimes against UNRWA personnel.
“The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has rejected the comments by the US legal representative to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as false and unsubstantiated.
In today’s ICJ hearing regarding the legal humanitarian obligations of the Israeli regime (as the occupying entity) towards the people of Palestine, the US legal representative said that there were “serious concerns” about UNRWA’s impartiality.
In response to today’s hearing, Philippe Lazzarini wrote on his X account that “those” who use disinformation as a weapon of war must be held accountable.
“Such claims are threatening the lives & well-being of UNRWA staff across the Gaza Strip & the occupied West Bank,” he continued.
“Dehumanizing & polarizing statements further deepen people’s suffering. They divert attention from the humanitarian crisis & the immense needs of people impacted by over 1.5 years of systematic destruction of life.””
From the beginning of the Gaza war, Israel and the US have launched a major propaganda campaign against the agency and accused its staff members of being “Hamas operatives.”
Several independent investigations conducted by the UN have revealed that these claims are completely false.
These investigations, however, have not stopped Israel from attacking the agency’s staff members and buildings across Gaza or banning its humanitarian activities in the occupied territories.
The Israeli regime’s parliament (Knesset) passed a law in October that banned the agency from activity within the occupied territories.
The Knesset also revoked the 1967 treaty that allowed UNRWA to carry out its mission. The ban has greatly restricted the agency’s ability to operate in Gaza and the occupied territories.”

I see the Abe Lincoln is still in San Diego port. Has been since tucking tail and leaving the ME, with a quick stop in the Philippines. Guessing that was where some patch up was done.
Houthis said they hit it. US says they didn’t.
I know which I think seems more likely given the Abe’s hasty departure and long stay in port. (and the fact that the US lies about pretty much EVERYTHING, even when there appears no good reason to)

Israel itself is Antisemitic to the nth degree.
It creates disrepute for itself, and for generation after generation.
The World has heard the message of Israel loud and clear:
Picture the flag of Israel planted atop a mountain of rubble, human corpses, flesh and bones.
An Israeli soldier holds the flagstaff, proudly puffs up his chest to the max
and boasts in a shout:

“We are the Jewish State
and we are monsters!”

Israel itself is Antisemitic to the nth degree.
It creates disrepute for itself, and for generation after generation.
The World has heard the message of Israel loud and clear!

Israel battles worst wildfires in country’s history
@ nazcalito | May 1 2025 14:45 utc | 4

It’s almost seven years since the Bear Fire took Paradise, CA, four months since the Eaton Fire took Altadena, CA — with municipal fires spanning the globe in the meantime, from Hawaii to Greece. Living in the Bay Area under an occasional Orange Colored Sky, I’ve had a ringside seat at the inception of our new age of municipal incineration, now slouching toward Jerusalem.
Firefighting aircraft can’t get aloft right now in Israel, because the wind is too strong. This happens: extended drought parching the landscape (more extended all the time over “Mediterranean” climes like my Bay Area), then the one-two punch of heat and wind. At that point, little mistakes become ignitions, leading to whole towns burning down. Rumors abound of arsonists, taking advantage of advantageous conditions.
As USrael wraps up flattening Gaza, Gaia starts in on Jerusalem. This will not be the last great firestorm to sweep Palestine. By the time Palestinians reclaim their stolen land, all of Palestine will be uninhabitable.

UK presented at ICJ:
Open with condemnation of Hamas, lament hostages, calls for their release.
Condemns cutoff of humanitarian aid, says Israel must allow aid in.
UK is committed to Israel’s security.
UK says ICJ has jurisdiction
(passes baton to legal expert)
(summarized here, not literal quotes, transcript is your real authority)
this is singling Israel out
nitpicking over obligations of other parties than Israel
says Article 2, item 5 only applies to security council resolutions
(passes back baton)
Geneva Conventions 59 and 55 apply
It seems to me that the UK is either a) splitting the baby/walking a line between the parties b) objectively reviewing conduct and calling out both sides for failures to comply with obligations under international law
China will open hearings tomorrow morning
I hope this finds you well

Sort of off topic, and no wish to derail, so just skip if necessary.
I appreciate historical accounts, but they only make proper sense to me when they are grounded in something tangible around. I bought some mango trees for planting, and hope to build up a collection. An unknown variety was on offer so I bought that and researched it. Nooooo, it originated from “Israel” according to first searches, a major moral dilemna for me, for although the actual plant was reared elsewhere, the variety grafted would have originally come from a tree in Palestine via zionist hands. What to do, destroying the tree would be unkind to the plant !? Keeping it would remind me of its origin, giving it away would be to encourage recognition or be just a weak reaction, recognition of an own weakness.
So I research some more, to make sure it really came from “Israel”, and end up in a world of history. First account is that it was a seedling found in 50’s by Prof. Hanan Oppenheimer, and then placed at 40’s… and then placed at earliest 1931 from when the “Acclimatisation garden at Rehovot” was planted. “Rehovot” was ‘founded’ on land bought from a christian arab apparently, a grass roots late 19th century Polish migration , and said to avoid other Rothschild hegemony. However events followed the zionist pattern, and it so happened that Chaim Weizmann decided to establish himself in “Rehovot” also.
The neighbouring Palestine town of Zarnuqa faced pressure from encroachment by the expanding “Rehovot” , the second ‘Zarnuqa incident’ in 1913 is said to have set a regional precedent of hostilities between jews and Palestinians, culminating in 1948 with the forced expulsion of the Palestine population of 2500 people from Zarnuqa and the destruction of the village, the Zarnuqa villagers seeing their village ransacked by jewish soldiers and settlers.
For those looking at the relationships that existed between UK elite and zionists, Chaim Weizmann is one good place to start maybe.
What I am supposed to do with the mango tree though, I don’t know.
Concurrently:
Increasing severity of hunger and starvation in Gaza is being reported.

In reference to the Palestinians, the word genocide has lost its value totally. The word closely akin to what those poor souls are going through is extinction. The Netanyahu regime is driving the Palestinians people to extinction. They are an endangered species. That word should be used more often by everyone instead of genocide.

A beautiful sight:
“Dramatic footage shows Israeli soldiers struggling to shut a military base door, as powerful winds and deadly wildfires sweep across central Israel.
Massive blazes are raging near Jerusalem, torching forests and forcing evacuations.
The fires have triggered a national emergency, with fears they could reach the capital.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a national emergency.”

Netanyahu expected to approve expanded Gaza war plans tomorrow: What the hell can they do next? Nuclear weapons?
—————-
Israeli PM Netanyahu will meet with senior defence officials tomorrow at noon for a situational assessment on the Gaza war, reports Israel’s Army Radio.
During the meeting, Netanyahu is expected to greenlight plans – already approved by the defence minister and military chief of staff – to expand combat operations in the enclave, according to the report.

All countries that have dual citizens with Israel should change that allowance. These zionist nazis show up everywhere and cannot refrain from killing:
——————
Nikolai Ashurov, an Israeli commander accused of ordering and taking part in the killing of 15 paramedics, rescue workers and UN staff in Rafah, has surfaced in the DRC Congo as a mercenary training local forces, Al-Quds newspaper reported.
On 30 March, the Palestinian Civil Defence said the bodies of 15 paramedics, rescue workers and UN staff were found in a mass grave in Rafah, each with around 20 gunshot wounds. They had gone missing a week earlier after responding to a distress call.
A legal draft reviewed by Al-Quds and compiled by legal experts from the New York-based Pal Commission, which included military records, social media activity and multiple interactions with acquaintances and soldiers connected to the officer, proved that Ashurov ordered the ambulances to be fired at indiscriminately as soon as they passed, the report said.
According to an eyewitness, Dr Saeed al-Bardawil, who was detained by Israeli forces and witnessed the crime first-hand, Ashurov himself opened fire on a UN vehicle, killing Kamal Shahtout, the UN field security officer in Rafah.
Three days after he was discharged from the Israeli military, Ashurov went to work for a private security company in DRC Congo, Al-Quds reported.

As if unarmed, starving civilians are capable of resisting ‘ combat operations’, except in the humble spirit of defiance of a foreign enemy that will take no benefit from killing them.

Yeah, he sure did. Revelation and some of the other prophesy books of the Christian bible read as bizarre, but there may some merit to them, considering the strange happenings of the day and the rise of the anti-humans across the world.
As a long-lapsed Catholic, I have no dog in the fight. However, Trump’s assertion that he would be the “best Pope” and Miss Lindsay Graham’s endorsement of the idea are just offensive and repellent as coming from two people who clearly have no belief in a higher power whatsoever.

@20 Exile
Thank you, I will do that if it is accepted. It is unusual, about twenty years ago I would talk with a burly ‘arab’ who worked in a garden center in france, and as is normal conversation was often about family. He had named his daughter Maya… “that means illusion in sanskrit, or related to spring in the west” I ask , and he firmly replies “no no, not that meaning” . Maya in Arabic is closest to meaning ‘water’ , or shortened from Amaya meaning ‘night rain’ , although via Persian it also means princess. The mango variety is called Maya also, after Oppenheimer’s wife, the name being said to be from hebrew for ‘water’. So if anyone non zionist is going to be able to make any sense of it all or appreciate the plant, then it would be someone local from the region or from north africa.

Gaza is a sort of spiritual test for all of us that make up mankind. Do human “values”, kindness, help for the weak and threatened, and all the other examples of “goodness” that I heard of in my youth, still exist for you and me?
One thing I have found shocking are the minimal reactions or non-reactions by those I know and meet. No one talks, but do people even think about what is happening?
Pope Francis, at least had the right idea, that there are many ways to reach God. Many religions but only one supreme. But I saw that one Rabbi declared that the goyim (everyone else) should worship “Jews”. He takes himself not as one of the “chosen” of God, but his incarnation. Never mind the “2800 slave per… ” talk, all of whom should WANT to serve as slaves. (The others are to be disposed of – just so you know where you really stand in his mind.) He said he wants to be worshipped and obeyed!
***
So how can I or anyone else have confidence in “leaders”, or other “arrogancia”. that do not reach even the basic levels of human ethics? That use force (police trained in Israel for example) and lawfare as a dictatorship of the conscience? As a way to maintain power without empathy?
***
Gawd help us. – He might just do that with fire, and I expect a bit of Sodom and Gomorrah to follow. Karma is a bitch

In Gaza the bombing and shelling continues unabated, with killed/martyred each day between 50 and 150 people, mostly women and children.
The thought of what happens if occupation takes hostilities to camps of starved displaced should send a shiver, I think.
It is too much to take in or keep up with, the above are just some main points.

There is an obvious moral to this story, not that the Israelis will see it. Has something to do with the word “indigenous”.
—————
Wildfires that ignited across the hills around Jerusalem were fuelled partly by hundreds of millions of flammable non-native Aleppo trees planted by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) to obscure or erase evidence of destroyed Palestinian villages.
When Israel was established, paramilitary groups destroyed over half of the villages of Mandate Palestine and uprooted close to 800,000 Palestinians.
While the JNF markets itself as an ecological organisation, it is criticised for its eco-colonialism, which has continued to dispossess Palestinians through its “greening” initiatives.
The JNF credits itself with having planted over 250 million trees since its founding in 1901. A vast majority of the trees, however, are non-native conifers not suitable for the country’s environment.
JNF planted and created areas around Jerusalem, such as Castel National Park over the Palestinian village of al-Qastal, Hakdoshim Forest built over the Palestinian villages of Aqqur, Dayr ‘Amr, Bayt Umm al-Mays, Khirbat al-‘Umur and Kasla.
Hakdoshim Forest was one of the areas affected by wildfires that broke out on Wednesday.

Not in this case.
The “problem” is might vs. right.
Obviously Gaza is a bad example of your point. People have spoken out, international counts and agencies have issued lawful orders, action has been taken….
All to no avail.

Do anybody remember about 15 years ago when an Israeli arsonned a forest to show what the Arabs could do.
The exploding pagers on health care workers in Lebanon wasn’t enough to overcome diverting fund from firefighters to the Dossim.

The forests near Modaiin are amazing.
The arab villages that disappeared in 1948 can be found even though every stone was removed.
The replanting was mostly a monoculture, so you come across an area with tamars and dekals you know that you are in a dissapeared village.
Nature is amazing and robust, even though people can be knobs.

@27 bassplayer
O/T
The tree itself is innocent. It was seeded from an imported tree, planted and grown in
Palestine (while under British occupation) by settlers who had already gone beyond any form of welcome. From there, cutting from cutting from cutting was propagated to eventually reach where I had bought it, so in effect it is a direct part of the original tree, and so the history of settlement, without which that tree would simply not have existed. With the result of that settlement before our eyes, I just cannot appreciate anything that has come from colonialism, zionism etc. there. It would feel like I had profited from the suffering of others, it would feel like theft. If anyone deserved or would appreciate having something returned to them from there, even if it were indirectly via the hands of settlers, or especially if so for it somehow turning the table, it would have to be someone local or more closely related than myself. I know many Muslims would not want to own something from “Israel” either, and I would probably question those that did. Maybe one would take the tree as a form of consideration though.
I know it is a slightly pathetic approach, I would much rather think that I had outdone the settlers by focusing on a positive aspect (they seem to prefer to bring hatred, suffering and revulsion into the world) , or to think that “it’s just the journey of a tree from Asia” and that trees don’t do politics or genocide, or that it is a representation of Palestine where to a tree settlers are actually just servants, that I had saved it from zionism even…but I am so reviled by what is occurring that any kind of profit at all, any kind of recognition or association, seems unworthy .
It is a real shame though, because I usually relate well to the various efforts of agronomists, farmers and so on.
For sure it is ‘just a plant’ , and your view is much more positive. I do regard it as something ‘sent my way’ however, so I try to understand, appreciate and learn from that. As others have insinuated, what is occuring in Palestine appears to me also as some kind of, in various ways contagious, metaphysical evil. All we have is our own better judgement, intuition, self discipline and whatever virtues, to protect ourselves or deal with what is being presented to us.
Therefore it stays as a problem plant, remains potted until I find someone from the region who would appreciate it. Unless I have some kind of revelation. If Palestine is returned to Palestinians beforehand, it will be kept as a museum piece 🙂 .
@39 Exile Thanks and will post if there is anything to relate. It is just one of those paradigms that has its own meaning and importance to a person, but which probably looks exaggerated or even irrelevant to anyone else. It really had me stumped until your suggestion, not seeing the forest for the trees as it were 🙂

Jonathan Cook
@Jonathan_K_Cook
Concerns about H@mas being proscribed in its entirety – not just its armed wing – are far from hypothetical, given the expansive wording of the UK’s Terrorism Act since 2019, when it was amended.
In particular, a revision to Section 12 means that anyone who “expresses an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation”, and one that might “encourage support” for that organisation, is liable to arrest by terrorism police, prosecution, and up to 14 years in jail.
For expressing an opinion.
The wording is so vague that, for example, simply criticising Israel for committing greater and more numerous atrocities than H@mas could theoretically have the counter-terrorism police banging on your door.
To avoid prosecution, Riverway Law – which is representing H@mas – has created a website dedicated to its application to the home secretary carrying a legal disclaimer: “By entering this website you acknowledge that none of the contents can be understood as supporting, or expressing support for, proscribed terrorist organisations under the Terrorism Act 2000.”
Several independent British journalists and commentators – those whose careers are not dictated, and protected, by billionaires or the UK state broadcaster – have had their homes raided at dawn by counter-terrorism police or been arrested at the border as they return home.
One political commentator, Tony Greenstein – who also happens to be Jewish and a trained lawyer – is currently being prosecuted under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act. Others are under prolonged investigation. They have the threat of prosecution hanging over their heads like a sword.
The rest of us are meant to take note, feeling the chilling effect. Do we want the police breaking down the door of our homes at dawn? Do we want to be arrested on return from holiday, our partners and children looking on in horror?
The National Union of Journalists has called the police actions against journalists “abuse and mis-use of counter-terror legislation” and warned that they risk “threatening the safety of journalists”, as well as their sources.
Understandably, you may be barely aware of these repressive police tactics, which have been accelerating since Keir Starmer came to power. He, let us recall, personally approved, as opposition leader, Israel’s crime against humanity of blocking food, water and power to Gaza.
The BBC and the rest of the media have failed to meaningfully report these incidents – which are characteristic elsewhere of police states.
Is that because these media outlets are themselves cowed into submission by the Terrorism Act?
Or is it because they are simply mouthpieces of the same British establishment that made it illegal to express support for objectives which are the same as those sought by H@mas’ political, as opposed to military, objectives?
Let us remember – and it’s easy to forget, given how rarely such things are mentioned by the British media – that the same UK state that proscribed H@mas continues to arm Israel directly, helps ship weapons from other countries to Israel, supplies Israel with intelligence from British spy planes over Gaza, and provides Israel with diplomatic cover – all while Israel carries out what the International Court of Justice (ICJ) calls a “plausible genocide”, and while its sister International Criminal Court (ICC) seeks the arrest of Netanyahu for crimes against humanity.
The British government is not a neutral party in the levelling of Gaza, the decimation of its people by bombs, the ethnic cleansing of swaths of the enclave, or the starvation of the population. It is actively assisting Israel in its genocidal campaign.
The UK establishment is also, through its proscription of H@mas and the wording of the Terrorism Act, bullying journalists, academics, politicians, lawyers – in fact, anyone – into silence about the context of its complicity, into an unwillingness to scrutinise its rationalisations for collusion in genocide.

https://caitlinjohnstone.com.au/2025/05/02/anti-zionism-is-anti-semitism/
“Anti-Zionism Is Anti-Semitism”
If you don’t want anyone to commit genocide against Palestinians, then that means you want to commit genocide against Jews. There is no third possibility.
Anti-Zionism is anti-semitism, you say? Sure, that makes sense. How someone prays and what religious beliefs they hold is exactly the same as supporting apartheid and genocide. You can’t even tell them apart; the last time I tried to pray the rosary I got confused and bombed a children’s hospital……
…..Anti-Zionism is anti-semitism. If you don’t support the idea of dropping a western settler-colonialist state on top of a pre-existing civilization and then defending its status quo of apartheid, theft and abuse by any amount of violence necessary, then obviously you support the idea of exterminating millions of Jews in gas chambers.
If you don’t want anyone to commit genocide against Palestinians, then that means you want to commit genocide against Jews. There is no third possibility.
Don’t think we should be sending billions of dollars worth of military explosives to be dropped on hospitals, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Gaza? That means you harbor extremely negative emotions toward a small Abrahamic faith.
Think it’s bad to deliberately starve millions of people who are trapped in a giant death camp? Then that means you want to start loading Jews onto trains……

Has anyone noticed that the fires across Israel started just days after Zionists called themselves “the master of the universe”? I like to believe that even their own God got so disgusted of them comparing themselves to Him that He sent fire on them. I cover this and a few updates from Iran in my latest article:

Posted by: Ismaele | May 2 2025 4:51 utc | 67

Maybe the next Intifada will be fought with shards of glass and matches. If the Palestinians are blamed anyway, why not just as well start some fires?

Posted by: SOS | May 2 2025 6:06 utc | 68

@SOS
One story is that the fires were caused by the illegal Jewish colonist thugs burning Palestinian crops. And since the Ziojewish thugs planted over the villages they eradicated in 1947/48 with pine trees, full of oil, and fast-growing eucalypts, full of oil, after tearing out ancient olive groves and citrus orchards, it was a fire waiting to happen. The Greeks and Cypriots have refused their pleas for help and let’s hope others do the same.
While they are burning men, women and children to death in Occupied Palestine they may as well get a taste of their own medicine.

The “Kosmos-482” probe was launched into space back in 1972 to gather data from the surface of Venus, but it malfunctioned and remained in Earth’s orbit. It is now expected to “return” to Earth between May 7 and 13.
What this satellite is:
– weighs approximately 500 kg
– may enter the atmosphere at a staggering speed of about 27,000 kilometers per hour
– predicted impact zone includes London, parts of Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas.

The US attacks against Yemen have a name (the US loves to name its illegal operations abroad); the bombing of mostly civilians in Yemen is called “Operation Rough Rider”. (I think that is also the trade name of a condom here in the US, but what it really makes me think of is the riders of the horses of the Apocalypse. )
The US has now killed at least 500 civilians in Yemen:

The photo at the top of the article shows Trump sitting at a desk that they moved outside while a man kneels in front of him and others pray around him.
They prayed for him to have “wisdom beyond understanding” and “divine dreams” and “visions”.

Does anyone believe any Palestinians will still be alive by January next year?

Look it has been clear that neither the ICC nor ICJ has the backing to change anything on the ground. The 4/14 order teri found just makes it explicit.
I hope this finds you well

“BEIRUT, May 2. /TASS/. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has warned the radical Palestinian movement Hamas against any actions geared to destabilize the situation in the region

No need for quantum theory here: Aoun is Lebanon’s version of Mahmoud Abbas.
Basically a lying stooge of the West bent on selling Lebanon to the Zionists.

WHAT’S COOKING!?
Fires rolling for a third day:
Israel Fires LIVE | Huge Flames Grip Jerusalem Forests ON Day 3

Firefighting aircraft from multiple countries were deployed to Israel as a massive wildfire rages forcing evacuations and shutting down a key highway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Sparked in the hills outside Jerusalem amid hot, dry, and windy conditions, the blaze scorched pine forests and blanketed the city in smoke.
Independence Day celebrations were canceled as security forces shifted focus to battling the flames.

News report seems to suggest the fires re-started (died down and then blew up again?). Probably the wind …

Israel uproots olive trees, plants pines, then gets burned
Karma.
Even wikipedia is talking about it. Apparently, Israel replaced Palestinian olive trees with pines, part of the plan to erase them. Turns out, pines burn.
“The Jewish National Fund has planted more than 240 million trees in Israel to celebrate Tu BiShvat, which celebrates trees and plants. However, due to their focus on pine trees, the program has potentially allowed a single species to spread across the area, causing diminished biodiversity and potentially increasing the risk of wildfires.[11] The Union for Environmental Defense has criticized the fund’s forestry practices for “overreliance on highly flammable pine trees” and overuse of toxic herbicides, in the context of minimal government and public scrutiny.[12] Critics of the focus on the pine tree such as Israeli writer Susan Nathan alleged that native olive trees were replaced by pine and cypress trees to erase traces of Arab presence prior to 1948 and potentially have increased wildfire conditions as the trees are non native to the area.[13][14][relevant?] ”

The link to the ICJ ruling I put in my post above is not working as I seem to have picked up the end parentheses as part of the link.
This works to read the decision of the court:
