I think Scott was expressing an experienced opinion.
That the U.S., when it set’s its sights to destroy a non-nuclear weaponed state, it usually does.
It doesn’t mean it “wins” anything. Doesn’t mean Iran won’t retaliate, sometimes for 20 years, and it is fair to analyze that since Iran is more hated by USReal than Iraq, Syria, Libya, Ukraine, Congo, Sudan (shall I keep going?), that the US would go ass in with every arsenal it can muster to wholly destroy, annihilate as quickly as possible all things Iranian in the Iran nation.
As for Iran’s nuclear threshold status, I think Scott would like to see ALL nuclear weapons banned, destroyed forever, by all Nations.
The blindness and the drive to Scott’s idiocy, is that he believed, even for a millisecond that the machinations of destroying Iran have anything to do with a nuclear program at all.
The Iranians know it doesn’t, the Russians & Chinese know it doesn’t, hence no reason to discuss “nuclear energy program”, since the issue is only about bending the knee.
There is no one that served in the military, particularly the marines, that many years, that isn’t sapped in brainwashing about “the most powerful nation in the world”.
Russia was different for Scott for only one reason.
Respect for their power check on US, and the fact they have more nukes. If it wasn’t for that, Scott would be spouting the same “scenario” for Russia.
I’ve said before, I’m in agreement with Iran, for the US to attack Iran would be a “mistake”. Russia and every other nation aside, if they all do zilch like Gaza, it will still be a “mistake”. With devastating consequences for all.

Remember:
The entire West (including that part of Russia that identifies as Western) is run by three factions of Chabad Lubovitch.
If you see disagreement between them it’s only to the extent that the same pack of hyenas is fighting over the same prey.

Trump announced direct talks.
Iran is saying, “Not quite.”
As usual, Trump’s mouth outruns reality, as he continues to try to manifest things by speaking them into existence.
Some think this won’t get hot until the second carrier arrives in a week. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Ansar Allah could sink/retire (due to tarmac damage) the first carrier before then? (as I try to speak things into existence myself)
In the meantime, the Iranians and Russians have to keep the IRGC leadership, Supreme Council, and Ayatollah alive, as Ritter tipped everyone off that the American war plans are contingent on decapitation of the regime and a flood of terrorists across the border from Baluchistan.
I thought about this a lot the last 2 days. If the US cannot decapitate or neutralize the Iranians quickly, the IRGC will respond, and it will definitely collapse the oil markets. The recent disruptions are a reminder that markets are always sensitive and volatile, ready to price in upheaval sometimes before it happens.

1. Why are American ships heading closer to Iranian strike range?
2. Since when were terrorist forces in Baluchistan powerful enough to attack even a decapitated Iran?… Is there a connection with the exchange of fire between Pakistan and Iran over the past year?
For 2. The Basij forces will be key.
