I enjoyed your summation, Newbie but you did say you were not understanding Kursk in your point 11, so I responded that the answer was that the nuclear question was Zelensky’s fixation from the earliest times – as also part of the reason Putin decided to act. We commented here on that, at the time the SMO began.
As far as your table went you hadn’t mentioned the nuclear threat. It was indeed present in the ‘first three days’ as you agree, and it did not go away or remain unanswered ‘for seven months afterward’ but rather the Russians doubled down on containment via thickly massed defences and evacuations.
I’m really not seeing your objection to my post. I wasn’t disagreeing with your summation, just answering the problem you seemed to have with Kursk at 11. Sorry to have sounded confrontational if you took my answer that way. Your table doesn’t mention nuclear, so I wanted to put it there, that’s all. You did raise it in questions at the end of your post, but it was there all the time.

It was not an objection to your post. I just think that the containment was effective enough to make that objective moot from the first week. My opinion.
And there is something that always made me wonder how much the ukrainian nuclear threat was just for show. The ZNPP is just across the river from AFU forces. Even direct fire could be considered and classic artillery and rockets… enough would get through. But that is just something puzzling me for a long while.
Hope you don’t take badly my answering you, I discuss, sometimes I agree sometimes I don’t but feel glad to discuss things, and someone disagreeing doesn’t mean disrespect.
And I agreed that the first move was probably for the knpp, bluff or not. You had it right and I hadn’t mentioned.
best regards

So Putin agreed to release Ukrainian soldiers who were encircled in Kursk.
Call me stupid but is there a greater sign of Russian weakness
Putin cares more for Ukrainians then for Russians. Putin clearly had some kind if lesser value complex, as Trump is rich and has a top model for wife.

As Witkoff was trying to depart Russia yesterday, a massive drone attack hit and as soon as his plane was airborne all flights in the area were grounded.
Can you imagine the world we would be in today if the AngloNazis had killed Trump’s envoy and close friend?
I am happy Witkoff survived but man, that’s pushing Trump to bring America into the war on the “wrong side” (from a Nazi perspective).
An American, let alone a diplomat carrying the President’s orders, is untouchable.
The Ukrainians and British need to be put down like the rabid animals that they are.

My take on what is happening in Eastern Ukraine and Kursk.
The facts that I see are that Ukraine has offensives all across the eastern front (but not in the south). Except that Ukraine keeps gaining the same ground over and over. And their supply lines look long and roadless. Day after day it looks like Ukraine is ALMOST READY TO SURROUND A BUNCH OF RUSSIAN SOLDIERS. Except that it never quite turns out that way.
Russia decided that their was no longer any reason for Ukraine to hold Kursk. Russia chose it take it in a dramatic way, but they would have taken it rather quickly even without the successful pipeline attack. In other areas, I think that Russia is still working hard to keep their supply lines as short as possible, and to keep Ukrainian supply lines as long as possible. They are in a hurry to kill US and NATO and Ukrainian soldiers. When they decide they are ready to take lots of territory we will know. They are not there yet.
China and Russia seem to be working as an efficient well oiled machine. Russia distracts the US in Europe, while US deteriorates internally and China expands its economic influence throughout the world. China is decoupling itself from the US, and if Russia found itself with a shortage of say… eggs for example, well China would be sending Russia 2 dozen eggs per Russian per day until Russia said ENOUGH WITH THE OVERCAPACITY AND OVERPRODUCTION!!!
I have to keep reminding myself that, since I live in the US, Putin cares exactly zero about what I think. If I want him to care about my thoughts, I would need to move to Africa or SE Asia or Central Asia. THEN he would care. I spend a lot of time pondering about the fate of the Ukrainians… well the NATO soldiers captured in Kursk. The answer is: he will do what he thinks will play best in Africa and SE Asia and Central Asia. The fate of the soldiers is a lot less important than support from the global south.
I carefully think about the “Putin is weak” (or corrupted) narrative that shows up here and in other places. I think about it a lot. And every time I come back to the conclusion that this is not true. The US still has a lot of power and money that has to be drained away before the US will allow itself to coexist with a strong Russia and a strong China. We are not at that point yet. But due to the patience and strength of Russia and China, we are steadily moving towards the time when the US will be weak enough so that we give up on our “Full Spectrum Dominance” idea of controlling every inch of the earth.

Whether the AFU in Kursk are allowed to live or not the fact remains that each and every death in the Ukraine war is the result of USA state department actions. It is easy to blame z. Z is just the fall guy. It is easy to blame Biden and he bears more responsibility but he is also just a pawn of a foreign policy that bears responsibility. Only when the truth that the Ukraine war was caused by Nuland directly authorized by Biden acting as Vice president to overthrow the Yanukovich administration elected in free and fair elections is understood can some sort of accountability be possible.
The over one million criminal deaths aside these state department practices have destroyed not only the USAs reputation but have severely jeopardized the dollars reserve currency status and added a half trillion to the debt. The practice of murderous proxy force on sovereign nations to retain primacy is not only reprehensible but a catastrophic failure working against USA interest in a manner much worse than any adversary. Until the philosophy that allows attacks on sovereign nations that have not harmed the USA is eradicated from the state department culture thugs and criminals will continue to be armed and financed with astronomical amounts and the destructive and catastrophic results will ultimately be borne by the USA. The USA s greatest enemy s not Russia, China, or Iran but demented foreign policy and philosophy that uses murderous force for insane reasons that the average American neither is aware of or condones. If there is one single issue that threatens the safety and security of not only every American but every man woman and child on the planet it is the policy and actions of the rogue USA state department and their minions. One can only hope that the over one million deaths created by this botched op will somehow wake people up to the risk that this demented culture and criminal actions pose before they engulf us in a world war where the Ukraine destruction will be trivial in comparison.

Don’t know if this is true, but worrying sign if it is…
Russian forces say […] https://x.com/OSINTWarfare/status/1900592612148400243
Posted by: unimperator | Mar 14 2025 17:14 utc | 391

I had a look at this OSINTWarfare (https://nitter.poast.org/OSINTWarfare). There is some resemblance to the legit https://nitter.poast.org/MenchOsint. OSINTWarfare Posts a lot of video’s, not really opinions. The chosen content and context seem to aim at an audience pro axis of resistance and pro Russia but it doesn’t always seem authentic.
Take this post for example:
https://nitter.poast.org/OSINTWarfare/status/1899562098155258362

“A Russian 9M723K1 Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile struck a Barbados-flagged cargo ship carrying wheat at the port of Odessa, causing significant damage to the vessel.
The ship had 12 crew members on board, and according to initial reports, four people were killed—three Syrians and one Ukrainian.”

The reader is asked to believe that the Russian forces used an Iskander-M (which is only used against high value targets) on a ship carrying wheat killing Syrians and an Ukrainian.
To me this looks like an SBU account masquerading as a pro RF poring honey occasionally laced with poison.

Dima in most recent update says(and I do not believe it) that Russia owes the US the release of the war criminals caught in Kursk because, he, Dima, claims that in the retreat from Kherson the Russians were not attacked by the Ukrainians due to the intervention of Miley, at Putin’s request.
That is absolutely mad. The Russians in Kherson were not trapped in a cauldron and the Ukrainians, still far away, likely had negligible capacity to attack. The attacking Ukrainians had already suffered huge losses.
If Putin lets the war criminals free then Russia is done. It has nothing to do with humanitarianism, the trapped war criminals can surrender and be treated under the rules of war.

Whoever above said that Putin is constrained to release the soldiers in Kursk or it would hurt the sensibilities of the Global South has a misconception of the Global South’s understanding of war. What most people everywhere will see this is as foolishness. Release them to have to fight them again in a war of attrition that should have been ended as quickly as possible. It even makes people wonder if Putin wants the war to continue. It is a big mistake just like it was a mistake to release the Azov fighters in Mariupol.

I’m not sure what to make of that Dima statement. To refresh everyone’s memory, in the fall of 2022, the second Ukrainian army equipped by NATO with ex-Soviet equipment donated largely by ex-Warsaw Pact countries, launched two major attacks, one North in Kharkov, the other south towards Kherson. The bulk of the Russian SMO forces were in the south dealing with Marioupal and securing the land routes to Crimea. The northern forces were a mix of militias, military police, regular artillery and special ops.
The Ukrainian northern attack, against those light forces was successful as the Russians engaged in a fighting retreat. By giving up land, the northern Russian forces inflicted high casualties on the Ukraine army while preserving the Russian combat capabilities.
In the south towards Kherson, the Ukrainians ran into the bulk of the Russian SMO forces and got their asses handed to them (American term for got beaten badly), and failed to capture Kherson City.
The massive losses sustained by Ukraine forced NATO to begin equipping the Ukrainian military with NATO equipment – what became known as the third Ukrainian army.
The Russians remained entrenched in Kherson, but constant Ukrainian attacks on the dam just up river from Kherson forced the Russians to acknowledge the danger posed if the Ukrainians managed to breach the dam. The stored water would have flooded part of the city and cut off the Russians in the city from the rest of the southern Russian forces. Therefore, the Russians gradually and methodically evacuated the city – both civilian and military – west across the city. The Ukrainians did not “let them evacuate.” The devastated southern Ukrainian forces could only watch it, lobbing artillery, because of the horrific loses they suffered in their attacks on Kherson.
Only after the Ukrainians were sure the Russians had left Kherson City did they enter it. Ironically, it took them several months before they finally blew the dam.
At no time were the Russians trapped in Kherson City. At no time were they in danger from a decimated Ukrainian southern force which had just begun to reconstitute itself after it’s brutal defeat by the Russians in the fall of 2022.
I stopped watching Dima last summer when I finally lost patience with his piss poor analysis and tendency to engage in emotional hyperbole and unsupported speculation. Sounds like I made the right decision.

So, what’s new, Moon of Alabama people? I have not been her much lately. But I feel like continuing my tradition of posting a link whenever I write something specifically about Ukraine. I haven’t written much about it lately because nothing new happens. Until lately.
My point is that Trump really has no cards to play about Ukraine. The war is following its own dynamic. It will go until it resolves itself, no matter what any outside power wants.

Those numbers don’t even pass the sniff test … you seriously expect anyone to believe that China is smaller than Japan?!?
Then I looked it up for myself.
https://www.visualcapitalist.com/the-109-trillion-global-stock-market-in-one-chart/
The US is 42.5% global share by market cap, then the EU is second largest, China is third largest and Japan comes in half the size of China … roughly what anyone would intuitively expect.
I shouldn’t be surprised but the way you offhand drop complete and utter bollocks without the slightest blink … and no one else even bothers to check it … gives me an insight into the scam artistry at work with MMT.

Sean Hannity on Fox News (whom I don’t watch, but George Szamuely on ‘The Gaggle’reviewed it)interviewed Mike Waltz who ranted about how stupid the Ukraine war is and that Trump is the man who means to stop it. Then Hannity said, “if I were to imagine how this deal unfolds, the rare earth mineral deal, a component that keeps the the US involved and a presence as well. Maybe European forces can be in Ukraine as well.”
“That’s a major public open reversal of the Western position. I’m surprised,” said Szamuely.
I am not surely surprised. Like I said a couple of threads back, the ‘Zelensky curse’ (see a past video of Alex Christoforou on the Duran) is going to get Trump if he gets involved in that. It will torpedo the peace deal. But now I wonder. Can Trump make a minerals deal with Russia which he mentioned, or will he not be able to give up involvement with Ukraine ongoing. And worse, will Putin actually allow for that? Why is he freeing the Kursk Ukrainian soldiers or is that not true?

“Some 25 allied leaders meet virtually on Saturday to increase pressure on Russia. Some 25 leaders of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing,” including Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, will hold a virtual meeting tomorrow convened by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the war in Ukraine and ways to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Efe, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as leaders from major European Union and NATO countries, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, are expected to participate in the meeting, Downing Street said in a statement.” ElMundo

It’s repeated every now and then on MOA that Putin has to be considerate of the feelings of the Global South. Since when has China been the harbor of virtue. If it’s the case that Putin worries about others’ opinions, maybe he and Lavrov could at least have given some lip service to the genocidal assault by Israhell on the Palestinians. Or the war crimes currently being inflicted on the Allawites and the Christians in Syria. No. Rather, Russia wants to keep its bases in Syria so colludes with the US and Israhell.
The Arab countries are a significant part of the Global South. Better to have the citizens’ approval than just that of the caliphs.
Other developments are taking place in the Global South that do not favor Russia like the mineral deal between the US and the PRC.
Putin should seek to end the Ukraine war in a way the Russians can be proud of, not by making Trump-type deals.

That is how I see it, too. Failure to surrender is a request for end-of-life.
Putin guaranteed humane treatment of POWs. I am not sure how that applies to mercenaries, who are currently called terrorists by the Russians. The Russians promised meting out justice to ‘terrorists.’
NATO personnel is another issue. My preference for them would be ‘killed while trying to escape.’ The US MSM would benefit from an influx of body bags and skiing accidents.

The Zelensky gang are inflicting a war on Russia, for the US, to destroy Russia and take all its stuff. This war did not start in 2022 or even 2014, it started in late 1945. This has been obvious since at least 1991.The excuse for NATO disappeared with the collapse of the Warsaw Pact.

And AP keeps bullshitting about NK troops. https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-kursk-putin-zelenskyy-8d7afde9eb8bce215007f3f8cc29fed6

Soldiers said their ability to hold Kursk began to deteriorate the moment soldiers from North Korea entered the battle late last year. As time went on, Pyongyang’s troops only became more effective, Ukrainian soldiers said.
When one Ukrainian drone operator spotted some 40 North Korean soldiers near a tree line a few weeks ago, he said he was amazed by the physical fitness of North Korean troops. Some were capable of quickly running long distances carrying heavy ammunition, he said.
“I’ve never seen anything like that before,” he said.”

It’s funny. At one point they are total bozos who get indiscriminately mowed down by the brave and gallant Nazi soldiers. At another, they’re supermen.
I guess that’s a standard rule of wartime propaganda. The enemy is both totally impotent and incredibly dangerous, at the same time.

Tim, excellent substack where I have 2 questions:
“After being rearmed and retrained by the west, they began another attack on Donbass in 2023. … Russia cited the above mentioned clause, and rolled into Ukraine.”
Question 1- Is the year 2023 you mention correct?
“Trump’s America does not want to play that role anymore. The Eurocracy is lost. If they let the Russians integrate economically into Europe, it will begin to set the rules. Their hegemony will be over.”
Question 2 – Who are they/their? Trump’s America? Or the Eurocracy?

The perps were not shy of what they were doing and recorded a lot of it themselves. One of the most evil groups was Tornado, who were co-located with SBU sites, anyone brought in was raped (astonishing amount of homo activity), many had to dig their own graves before being dumped alive into the hole. The peak was 2014/5 before the front stabilised but continued at a lower level until they ran out of targets. That group was so bad the Kiev had to act and many went to jail for a while until they were released into the army.

Polish Morawiecki(under investigation for election misdoings) and Romanian President Ciacu signed bilateral documents agreements March 3,rd
Extract from Romanian gov website

We had discussions about all the measures that have been taken so that we can strengthen the defence and deterrence posture on the Alliance’s Eastern flank. We have already taken measures together, a Polish military unit is part of the Multinational Brigade in Romania, also a Romanian unit is part of the combat group present on the Polish territory and I discussed with the Prime Minister that, with the enhanced presence of allied forces in the Black Sea region and, of course, in Poland and the Baltic Sea region, we should examine and consider having a new set of forces, which can be deployed to our country, and thus, we have received his approval for a subunit to be part of the battlegroup that is to be led by France.”

It’s one of the ways propagandists can both elevate and inspire the populace with the heroics of their soldiers in the tactical arena, whilst reassuring them that at the operational level the enemy are often comically incompetent and can be beaten.
Another technique, oft used during the SMO, is the focus on the inevitable tactical successes, amidst operational failure. The problem becomes when that lens becomes the prime perspective from which a population are encouraged to view of conflict. This phenomenon of strategic transliteration has been accelerated by the almost autistic focus on the day to day events, by the legion of YouTube self-professed autodidacts, with their largely illusionary, or at best deceptive, maps.
There are famous examples when the tactical can decide the operational, or the strategic direction of a conflict, but it is not the rule, hence their status, and are often suggestive of an opponent’s intrinsic failings, that would probably have been exploited eventually. They make great stories though, that become legends, often permanently imprinting their perspective on the perception’s of the general public, toward that conflict. This in turn often causes further conflict, as people forget the origin of these stories, in time, so the SMO was in part fuelled by the belief that the Russians would be hopelessly incompetent (fighting incredibly bravely though, when mentioned in Ukrainian medal citations) and Wunderwaffe German kit would sweep the Slavic Orcs from the homeland, like the ‘good old days’.
If people want to stop the endless cycle of historical conflicts the best weapon is to try to get to the bottom of the real reasons, but that means clearing away sometimes centuries of legendary ‘undergrowth’. Ironically, these tales often are told initially as comforting stories, to make defeat more bearable but which eventually fuel further defeats.

NATO to do list:
1) Announce how badly Russia has been drained by Ukraine – such that their sacrifice means Russia won’t think about invading Europe. So, it was worth it all.
2) Announce cost saving measures on the military because Russia isn’t coming.

The English PM Starmer, who is undoubtably a Zionist and Neo-Nazi dictatorship supporter – has been speaking in an online conference with EU leaders – Starmer has been saying that Russia MUST accept a peace/ceasefire deal – and that not to do so would unthinkable – for me this is the EU and Starmer in panic mode – as Ukraine’s forces face total destruction in their desperate attempts to flee Russian soil in the Kursk region – of course its not the first time Russian forces have expelled Nazi’s from Russian soil.
Starmer – who has tied Britain to the Ukrainian apron – via billions in aid and weapons, whilst underwriting much of Ukraine’s debt – that the British taxpayer will have to service – and then there’s the hundred-year Joint Deal, (whatever that contains) between Britain and Ukraine.
Putin has wisely taken his time on any ceasefire/peace deal proposed – and Russia holds most of the cards on this one, so to rush in would in my opinion be foolish – also clearing out Kursk of invaders – of whom some will surely be from the West – further weakens Nato’s and the EU’s hand in any deal as Zelensky/Trump and the EU minions, will have less to barter with – when they eventually get around the table to thrash some sort of deal out.

The Neo-Nazi dictator of Ukraine – won’t relinquish his power easily.
“Ukraine will maintain martial law and will not hold a presidential election even if a ceasefire with Russia is established, Mikhail Podoliak, adviser to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, told the Italian newspaper la Repubblica on Friday.
Martial law has been in place in Ukraine since the conflict with Russia escalated in February 2022. Zelensky’s presidential term officially expired in May 2024, and he has refused to hold a new election, leading to debates about the legitimacy of his administration.”

I think somebody needs to sit down with Starmer and explain how utterly feeble the UK military has become at fighting a ‘heavy’ war. The kind of conflict that the government advisors predicted were things of the past, so initiated savage cuts to the militaries inventory, whilst focusing on changing the cultural web of the military, something the US are trying to reverse.

If they join the EU, most of the remaining people will also leave. Maybe the country becomes a dumping ground for 3rd world migrants to work on plantations.
If they get absorbed by Russia then it’ll be resettled by Russians, which would at least preserve their culture and offer up a way to rebuild.
Either way the country’s finished.

Posted by: Tel | Mar 15 2025 0:54 utc | 430
Keep in mind the stock market is not the global economy.
It’s not that unbelievable to see such figures as the US government prints more money than anybody else and Americans, especially rich Americans, put more money into stocks than anybody else. It just depends on your sources.
“In 2024, stock markets in the United States accounted for roughly 60 percent of world stocks. The next largest country by stock market share was Japan, followed by the United Kingdom. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the NASDAQ are the largest stock exchange operators worldwide.”
https://www.statista.com/statistics/710680/global-stock-markets-by-country/
The difference might be explained by the huge Nvidia run-up in 2024, compared to your source, which ends in 2023. Then there are posts like this one that even claim the US has a 70% share:
https://www.thedailyupside.com/economics/international-economics/us-markets-represents-70-of-total-world-market-capitalization/
Intriguingly, it says, “US equities now make up 70% of the MSCI World Index, which tracks the largest companies around the world, more than double the 30% level seen in the 1980s.”
If these people regard the MSCI World Index as the global market, this may explain the discrepancy as the MSCI World Index does not include China or other developing countries. This would push the US up substantially since Japan and Europe had been suffering the worst of their own self inflicted energy sanctions.

🤡🇫🇷🏴‍☠️👉🇷🇺 Macron said in an interview with Le Parisien that European countries could send their troops to Ukraine without Russia’s consent.
The Franco-British plan, which is currently being finalized, is already of interest to “several countries” (in Europe and beyond)? “The goal is not to have a mass (of soldiers),” he points out, recalling that today “the largest European army is the Ukrainian army (one million soldiers).” It will therefore be a question of “placing a few thousand people in each country in key locations to conduct training programs” and “demonstrating our long-term support.”
The publication writes that the military scenarios mentioned such centers as Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv.
One thing is certain: the Europeans will do without Putin’s consent: “Ukraine is sovereign; if it asks to deploy allied troops on its territory, it is not Russia’s business to accept it or not,” Macron insists.

The MSCI World Index is not the global market, nor is it even intended to be. Morgan Stanley have a separate MSCI Emerging markets index and then they have the “All Countries” index which combines the other two. Here’s a diagram, which can be found with a little searching.
https://www.msci.com/documents/1296102/1301731/Market-cap-chart_v3-ACWI+Index.jpg/e6ecd7b6-e876-4e20-86cc-ef3bd7369292?t=1456246983745
Even then it still remains an index … which is to say, selected stocks that give indication of where “The Market” is going. It never represents the entire world … not even just that part of economic activity which is listed on stock markets. The description of the ACWI is this …

The MSCI ACWI captures large and mid cap representation across 23 Developed Markets (DM) and 24 Emerging Markets (EM) countries*. With 2,645 constituents, the index covers approximately 85% of the global investable equity opportunity set.

So Chinese stocks are only weighted at 3% of the ACWI and Japan is weighted at 4.7% in the same index … this tells you nothing about the relative size of China vs Japan … it just happens they picked those weightings.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_stock_market_capitalization
There’s a Wikipedia list which is at least in the general ballpark with fairly up to date numbers.
The USA is approx 5x the size of China, based on stock market capitalisation. After that, China is about 2x Japan, and that shows Taiwan and Hong Kong counted separately so this would be Mainland China only.
After that, you have a long tail of countries sitting roughly where you would expect them. The also list the total market cap divided by GDP … a thing often called the “Buffett Indicator” … although Buffett was mainly interested in the USA but it’s interesting to compare various countries on that basis.
Hong Kong comes out anomalously high on the Buffet Indicator, while Germany, France and Spain are surprisingly low. Not sure if there’s some cultural resistance to public traded companies, or maybe those markets have suffered a beat down due to war, energy, etc.

Think you’re missing my point.
Like I said, the stock market is not the global economy and the figures are highly dependent on the source.
If the figures show the US is 60-70% of the world market and Japan is the 2nd biggest market, this is highly indicative they took the MSCI World Index as the benchmark.
Not saying this is correct, which is what you’re trying to argue, but it would explain where the numbers are coming from.

By far the two most experienced armies in modern warfare right now are the Russian and Ukrainian armed forces.
Both have experienced, and mastered, battlefields that would be utterly alien to most peer militaries worldwide – including those that think highly of themselves, like the US.
The US has never had to operate in an environment where every square meter is surveilled by FPV drones, nor has it had to deal with electronic warfare so intense it obviates their precision artillery, missiles and standoff munitions.
Laugh long and hard at those who claim the Russians are weaker now – as well as those arrogant Westerners who think their NATO supersoldier tactics are all Ukraine needs to succeed.

‘That phase of the conflict’, i.e. the state of Civil war that existed between Ukraine and the Donbas, in which both sides brutalised each others populations, especially the civilians, with warlord enforcers, typical of such conflicts. If you also think the Russian military have not, on occasion, had soldiers behave in behaviours which are flagrant violations of international conventions then you are a propagandist. Every military has ‘bad apples’, sometimes those gravitate to command and then their units are infected, if officially authorities turn a ‘blind eye’ then you’ve got a situation that can escalate to become a serious restrictor on combat effectiveness.

449 – That Soviet defector to British “intelligence”, Viktor Suvorov, real name Vladimir Rezun, is a good example. His work, certainly when the USSR existed, veered between ridiculing it and bigging it up as a major danger. A good example of it is The Liberators – a paperback edition showed a painting of a Soviet armoured vehicle, probably copied from a photo of a November 7 parade, but with Donald Duck seated next to the commander. But the trouble is, why spend tens of billions of dollars combating such a ludicrous adversary?

– Nicolai Petro thinks that a military coupe in Kiev is likely / possible. He was interviewed by Pascal Lottaz (Neutrality Studies). Then the ukrainian army could chose the side of right wings groups. Right wing groups still seem to be VERY determined to seize control in Kiev.
My personal opinion is that a (right wing) coup would only weaken the ukrainian “government” even more and give Russia more excuses to continue the war against the Ukraine. And that would prolong the war and will destroy the Ukraine even more. Then the chance of the Ukraine breaking up in multiple parts will only increase (dramatically).
Petro points out that the ukrainians (government & military) need to disarm those right wing groups/extremists in order to increase the prospects of Ukraine becoming “less violent”. These right wing groups are now better armed than say 5 years ago.
