“This makes the current genocide a continuation of the European Crusades of the past.”
There are many influences working in various directions, however ultimately the “crusaders” are not forcing the settlers to stay there. They are not forcing them to commit genocide. The “Israeli”/zionists/jews are free and able to walk away, to return the land to the local population, if they are not able to find a peaceful compromise.
That is easy for someone else to just say, but it is also a reality. I imagine most have no intention of doing that, apparently the opposite.

Israel and Hamas are working on another ceasefire (an Egyptian proposal), which I can safely predict that Israel will likely betray.
The Americans are probably hoping that they can open up the Red Sea to supply Israel or to attack Iran.
They are certainly concerned about the Ben Gurion airport.
The Americans don’t have what it takes to defeat Ansar Allah, who may be unbeatable short of nuclear assault, which I do not put past the US, a despicable and evil regime that knows no limits when it comes to violence.

Elijah J. Magnier 🇪🇺 @ejmalrai
Text of the message sent by U.S. President @realDonaldTrump to Iran’s Supreme Leader @ar_khamenei, without modification and translated into English:
Your Excellency Ayatollah Khamenei,
With respect for your leadership and the people of Iran, I write to you with the aim of opening new horizons for our relationship, moving beyond years of conflict, misunderstanding, and unnecessary confrontations that we have witnessed over the past decades. The time has come to leave behind hostility and open a new chapter of cooperation and mutual respect. Today, too, we have a historic opportunity before us.
The United States of America under my leadership is prepared to take a major step toward peace and de-escalation. Together, we can lift sanctions, empower the Iranian economy, and open the doors of cooperation between our two countries—not only for the benefit of our peoples, but for the sake of stability and peace in the Middle East and the world at large.
But I warn you: if you reject this outstretched hand, and if the Iranian regime chooses the path of escalation, continued support for terrorist organizations, and military adventurism, the response will be decisive and swift. We will not stand idly by in the face of threats from your regime to our people or our allies.
Peace is not weakness—it is the choice of the strong. The Iranian people are a great people who deserve a better future, free from isolation, poverty, and suffering.
If you are ready to negotiate, we are ready as well. But if you continue to ignore the demands of the world, history will record that you missed a great opportunity.
With respect,
Donald J. Trump

Israel’s Supreme Court, regarded by Western liberals as an enlightened bastion, ruled in favor of starvation of Gaza as a weapon. One justice described the war against “Amalek” as “obligatory.”
All Israeli state institutions are mobilized for genocide.

After a full year (the petition submitted March 2024) Israel’s Supreme Court rejects appeal to allow humanitarian aid to Gaza, claiming, inter alia, that “the IDF and the respondents went above and beyond to enable the provision of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip” 1/5
In his conclusion judge Mintz provides numerous quotes from Jewish sources and then frames Israel’s war on Gaza as a religious war: “The State of Israel is in the midst of a war of duty [religious term מלחמת מצווה] in the full sense of the word. 2/5……
In our case, the IDF and the respondents went above and beyond to enable the provision of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, even while taking the risk that the aid transferred would reach the hands of the Hamas terrorist organization and be used by it to fight against Israel…..

Venezuela has powerful allies in Russia and China.
Posted by: LoveDonbass | Mar 29 2025 6:15 utc | 72
Those are good allies to talk about how what the US does to Venezuela is bad at the UN while doing nothing practical. The most important ally is Iran. In 2020 when the people of Venezuela could not drive their cars as the sanctions were destroying them. Only Iran dared to send ships with oil to help. They dared Trump to stop them. Iran has shared drone technology with Venezuela and even sold them navy war ships. They have a close relationship that started when Hugo Chavez was still alive.
Does Venezuela have underground cities like Iran?
It is sad watching countries like Venezuela and North-Yemen get destroyed with sanctions when they are in the process of rebuilding themselves. Venezuela makes its own cars, tractors and their economy has been growing lately. What Trump is doing is going to destroy them. Sanctions are a declaration of war.
North-Yemen has been working hard to become self-sufficient in food production, they recently stated they would no longer import wheat as their farmers were now growing enough. Ansar Allah has invested a lot in encouraging farmers to grow all sorts of cash crops, has created cooperatives and building rural roads. Trump destroying their infrastructure is going to set them back.

@ Posted by: Spectator | Mar 30 2025 5:03 utc | 108

Iran is not trying to get nuclear weapons because they have a religious fatwa against getting nukes. Personally, I think they should. All countries that want nuclear weapons should have them. Nuclear weapons for all.
Who says Muslims want to kill all Jews? Saying death to Israel does not equal to killing all Jews. Ansar Allah’s slogan is a perfect example of this. They say “death to Israel” and then “curse upon the Jews”.
Do you see the difference?
@ Posted by: michaelj72 | Mar 30 2025 2:45 utc | 104
Israelis are acting like the entire world is ignorant to what they do in colonial Israel. Their ministers declare they are going to kill and starve Palestinians so that in 80 years their children will still remember what the Jews did (paraphrasing), say that there are no civilians in Gaza- every man, woman and child should be killed, celebrate their soldiers raping Palestinian prisoners etc.
We in the rest of the world are watching this. Do they not know this?

The “President Of Peace” Just Bombed Yemen 65 Times In 24 Hours
The US launched 65 airstrikes in 24 hours in Yemen, and then Trump’s intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard tweeted, “President Trump IS the President of Peace. He is ending bloodshed across the world and will deliver lasting peace in the Middle East.”
These freaks have no connection with reality.

I saw a video the other day of a father cradling the decapitated head of his son from an airstrike in Gaza, and I’m told I’m a terrorist supporter if I criticize the people who decapitated him…..

….Two recent headlines:
“Israel admits firing at ambulances in Gaza,” from The Guardian,
and
“Israeli soldier tells CBS News he was ordered to use Palestinians as human shields in Gaza.”
The western press are only allowed to report on Israeli crimes when the Israelis admit to it themselves.
Half of the evidence of Israeli atrocities in Gaza comes from Palestinians filming their own genocide. The other half comes from Israelis telling the press what they’ve been up to.

….The Democrats committed genocide. Now the Republicans are committing genocide. There you have it. Neither party is acceptable. Case closed. End of debate…..

@CraigMokhiber
Darkness is falling across the globe. In my four decades in the international human rights movement, I have seen much cruelty in all corners of this world. But I have never witnessed the kind of unmitigated evil demonstrated today by political Zionism. Adherents of this ruthless, hateful, deeply racist, & fundamentally violent ideology are now in power in the lawless U.S. government (and that of other Western governments), putting us all at risk. They are not only torturing, raping, & slaughtering innocents in Palestine, bombing & occupying several countries, corrupting governments across the West, arresting and deporting human rights defenders and students in the U.S., harassing those who dare to speak up, and dismantling our democratic institutions, but they are tearing down international law and the very principles of human morality itself. No malign force since the Nazism of the 1930s has represented such a grave threat to the world. Either we will defeat it, or it will destroy us. Thankfully, Jews, Christians, Muslims, atheists and others around the globe are standing up in record numbers to fight this evil, and that is the light that we must work to spread.

A new “Free World Phenomenon:
The Ever-Increasingly and Unfounded Encroachments of Policing Powers in Public Places
by Paul Gregoire
published on 28 Mar 2025
Victorian premier Jacinta Allan announced a massive expansion of random knife search powers in her state on 13 March, as part of a broader youth crime crackdown that’s underway, which involves a 2009 law that allows Victoria police to approach civilians in public and randomly conduct searches for illegal items, concealed weapons or illicit substances, without the need of a reasonable suspicion.
And like so many of the rights-eroding blanket policing techniques that Australian governments have been habitually legislating over recent decades in order to appear tough on crime, the designated area search laws in Victoria have a staggeringly low success rate, as the data shows only 1 percent of the thousands searched turned up any illegal item, and this includes concealed weapons.
The powers granted to police under the various systems of Australian law have developed safeguards over time to prevent police randomly searching civilians based on appearance. The various search powers in NSW require an officer to have a suspicion based “on reasonable grounds” for stopping and searching a person. But increasingly, over recent decades, this is being eroded.
Queensland and NSW adopted their own designated zone laws over the last two years, which are not as invasive as those in Victoria, as the new laws apply specifically to randomly wanding passersby, or running a small metal detector over their clothes, rather than either a pat down search or a wanding in Victoria.
Although randomly stopping people in the street to wand them is highly invasive in itself.
And if we look at the state of NSW today, people of any age looking towards a big weekend can find themselves randomly confronted by highly flawed sniffer dogs, which, if they indicate wrong, could lead to a demoralising strip search, which most of the time prove fruitless, or otherwise a NSW resident might be subjected to a wand search, or be ordered to move-on from nearby a church.

Netanyahu has an offer for the Palestinians; Israel gets everything and you get killed or exiled. Let’s dialogue about it.
(And to be accurate, the “Trump plan” is not an immigration plan, it is an emigration plan.)

Netanyahu: We are ready to engage in dialogue regarding the final stage of the war, which would entail disarming Hamas and evacuating its leaders from Gaza, while ensuring Israeli security control over the Strip and implementing the Trump immigration plan.

If it is any consolation, the Resistance will never agree to abide by anything Bibi or Trump wants.
I think it is important to remember.
The Resistance has mortally wounded Israel. We here about the attacks and see pictures of the bodies but Israel is operating out of desperation, not success.
Israelis are international pariahs. Governments are slowly starting to turn on them too.
The goal was never to militarily defeat Israel. It was to create a Palestinian state, and I believe we’re still on course for that.
Ansar Allah is committed to closing Ben Gurion permanently. What kind of first world country doesn’t have an international airport?
The Israel as “vacation spot” for Western Christians is done. The Israel as tech and manufacturing hub is done.
Bibi wouldn’t be talking deal if he was in a strong position. He’s trying to keep as many fronts open as he can so that he can continue to avoid legal accountability by excusing himself from court.
The Resistance has to keep on keeping on and they will win.
All of those deaths have meaning.

@128 LoveDonbass
“Bibi wouldn’t be talking deal if he was in a strong position”
I don’t see any talk of a deal.
What is ‘offered’ is expulsion of Palestinians, Riviera, and “Israeli” control.
The tit-tat of 5 or 10 prisoners for temporary ceasefire is tactical, because US backing is complete.
I don’t question that “Israel” is in difficulties, and also the need to keep morale amongst Palestinians, but I think you underestimate the “all in” approach and the resources “Israel” is able to draw on.
Picture it this way maybe, until US is brought down “Israel” is safe to act out as it chooses more or less. You might view the conflict as Russia/US, or Empire/Socialism or Muslim/not Muslim or West/East etc. … all of which could be considered unjust to place on the shoulders of a population being subject to genocide as causes that they are fulfilling.
In simple terms, the US is going nowhere for the time being, unless you think admin is planning to close down the middle-east so that the US becomes a backwater, which is not likely.
This will only come to head once Iran is engaged or submits, at which point we would see who or what is left standing, but the US will still be intact normally, if only diminished. Equally engagement by neighbouring countries would change the direction, but not necessarily positively as a whole, and such is not visible at present except via public discontent.
It is right that Palestinians resist occupation and genocide. That resistance adds up to still being standing after whatever onslaughts are attempted. Rest of world is not doing much for their cause, to suggest that will change is speculative. What will be obliged to change is “Israeli” and US positions if the Palestinians refuse to be expelled from their country, that is something of a certainty because we are witnessing now the culmination of a hundred years of ambitions and the resulting frustration, after which there is no other approach. The cost the Palestinians are having to pay for that choice (as far as they have a choice) is immense, and so it is only one they could decide amongst themselves.
I think the Palestinians are realistic and well grounded in their understanding of their own circumstance.
I don’t even think Palestinians even aimed to highlight international corruption, being an extreme expression of it due to what they are subjected to, but rathering it were not so.
There was an interesting and humble explanation once from the region, it went something like this :
Intellectuals are not above others, they are people whose experience and path in life has provided them with the understandings and knowledge necessary to make them perceptive and representative.
