Hamas: Second Phase of Gaza Ceasefire ‘Sole Way’ to Free Israeli Captives
https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2025/03/03/743849/Palestine-Osama-Hamdan-Hamas-Israel-Benjamin-Netanyahu-Osama-Hamdan-
“A senior Hamas official has censured Israel for seeking to resume aggression against Gaza and evade the ceasefire deal, saying the only way to secure the release of Israeli captives is to start phase two of the agreement.
We affirm that the only way to release the prisoners of the occupation is to adhere to the agreement and to immediately enter negotiations to start the second phase, with the occupation committing to fulfilling its obligations’ Osama Hamdan said on Monday.
The occupation is pushing to return matters to square one and to overturn the agreement through alternatives it proposes such as extending the first phase or creating an intermediate phase.’
Hamdan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his regime bear full responsibility for obstructing the agreement’.
‘Despite the ceasefire deal the Netanyahu occupying regime seeks to resume aggression against our people’,
he said.
Dozens of trucks carrying aid for the Palestinians remain stranded at the Rafah border in Egypt after Israel barred entry into Gaza.”

The best thing for Syria and Palestine is for the region to come under Ottoman control.
The Arab’s are clearly not up for the task and the Iranian revolution does not have imperial designs.

Meanwhile obscured by the Trump/Europe spat Netanyahu is busy violating part 2 of the cease fire treaty and getting ready to restart the war for which the free portion of Crooke’s article provides plenty of evidence. I doubt Trump will avoid being tagged Genocide Don.

Gabbard has made the most anti-Turkish statements recently, almost declaring it an enemy. Trump seems to have a decent relationship with Erdogan, but this latest move by Trump and Russia is seen as Trump maneuvering Putin to allow US access to the Black Sea to abscond the oil. Erdogan is really sticking Turkiye’s neck out over this power play in Syria.

My friend, the Americans talk a lot.
It is all they can do as they cannot fight militarily or compete economically.
Pay attention to what they do, not what they say.
Putin won’t let Trump take advantage of Russia. His closest advisors wouldn’t let him if he wanted to.
It’s a long game and only in retrospect can we begin to understand which moves were made and why.

Our prophet SAW said its impossible to be a liar and a Muslim. For this reason Political Islam is a self-contradiction.
HTS has no agency. Our prophet conquered Mecca in peace, killing only the ringleaders of our enemies , while HTS is doing what Daesh did in Iraq, Genocide Israel’s enemies for Israel to secure the Mosul oil.
The duplicity is vaster than a bluebell wood in which Bluebells, Fungi and trees make an organic underground GIANT.
It encompasses pan-Turkist Nationalism, Zionist Nationalism , Arab Nationalism , Anglo-Saxon Nationalism, French Nationalism , Kurdish Nationalism and US and Russian Imperialism.
Of course all this duplicity is corrosive to the honesty of the owners of Sham / Palestine and corrosive of all honest people in the world.
In fact you could say that the sole purpose of the Arab Spring , Ukraine and Oct 7 is to consolidate the total corruption of International Relations at the expense of ordinary citizens.
HTS and Zionism are like the Hydrochloric acid of the stomach, an acidic liquid that breaks down and feeds on the spiritual energy of humanity.
Like the boozer who destroys their stomach trying to digest alcohol , these fanatical institutions eventually destroy themselves. Whoever supports their power might like to reflect on this analogy. Extremism eventually destroys itself after destroying whatever healthy energy it finds to feed on.

In other “bright” news, slowly but surely Syria is transforming into the next Libya as a lot of smart people speculated after HTS takeover. A lot of sectarian violence with various minorities, Israel continuously bombing the country, trying to form various insurrections in the south with the Druze people in order to either split or weaken Damascus authority. HTS is again paying lip service to Israel while their country is bombed by them. It’s amazing.
The only good news might be if Turkey actually makes a proper deal with the Kurds and they stop being a nuisance for both Syria and Turkey so they can focus on stabilization but the deal is still far for being official.
Anyway, I am really glad that RU decided to cut its losses in time and got mostly out. There was some Reuters article posted a few days ago that Israel actually lobbies in US for RU to keep some sort of presence in order to counter Turkey’s presence in Syria but I hope Ru doesn’t indulge it’s Israeli “friend”. No need for these poison apples.
As for Syria itself, as with other 3rd world country (the list is endless) that dreams about “freedom” and “democracy” that road is long and not necessarily a guaranteed path to success. Poor people never learn that wanting “freedom and democracy” doesn’t usually brings prosperity as well.

IOF looted cash and gold from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria: Israeli media
Looted valuables, including cash and gold, were transported to “Israel” and deposited into the Bank of Israel.
A recent report uncovered that the Israeli military’s “Loot Unit” has plundered substantial amounts of weaponry, cash, and gold since the onset of its wars and aggression on Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, the Israeli daily Ynet reported, adding that the unit has amassed enough weaponry to equip “a small army.”…..
….The unit, which comprises approximately 500 members, with 2,400 soldiers involved in the looting, stole “mountains of cash” from what they dub “enemy territories”.
In addition to cash, the unit has seized 180,000 pieces of weaponry, including anti-aircraft missiles, drones, anti-tank missiles, rifles, military radios, and night-vision devices. The report noted that the unit has also looted rare treasures such as French rifles from the 1930s and valuable pistols……

REPORT | Egypt has drafted a plan for Gaza as an alternative to Trump’s proposal, that proposes replacing Hamas with an interim governance body controlled by “Arab, Muslim, and Western states,” Reuters reports.
This plan, set to be presented at the Arab League summit tomorrow, envisions a “Governance Assistance Mission” to manage humanitarian aid and reconstruction. To handle security, it proposes an “International Stabilization Force,” primarily made up of Arab states, that would replace Hamas’ role.
However, the draft seen by Reuters does not address who will fund Gaza’s reconstruction or how to handle Hamas’ disarmament. Hamas has maintained it does not seek to continue governing Gaza and would accept a Palestinian national unity administration to take charge or an independent body established in coordination with the Palestinian Authority. While Hamas has stated it would reject a foreign force in Gaza, the official details of the Egyptian plan have not been made public.
On the issue of disarmament, Hamas’s position has been that it will not lay down its arms unless there is a competent Palestinian force that can defend the rights of Palestinians to self determination.
A preamble outlining the Egyptian draft proposal does not explicitly call for Hamas to disarm. It states: “There will be no major international funding for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Gaza if Hamas remains the dominant and armed political element on the ground controlling local governance.”

The Grayzone.
UN demands answers from UK on terror law abuse<\B>
As the British state harasses and arrests a growing number of activists and dissident journalists, including the author of this piece, UN rapporteurs delivered a forceful letter of protest to London condemning its abuse of counter-terror legislation.
In December 2024, a quartet of UN rapporteurs focused on “peaceful assembly and of association” and the “right to privacy” delivered a strongly-worded letter to the British government. Expressing grave concerns about the potential “misapplication of counter-terrorism laws” to arrest, detain, interrogate and surveil dissident activists and journalists, including The Grayzone’s Kit Klarenberg, they demanded clarity on a number of serious issues. Given 60 days to respond, London remained suspiciously silent.
As a result, the UN’s correspondence with the British government has now been made public. The rapporteurs were clearly disturbed by reports of Schedule 7 of the 2000 Terrorism Act, and Schedule 3 of the 2019 Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act, which covers “hostile” state threats, “being used to examine and obtain data from journalists and activists Johanna Ross, John Laughland, Kit Klarenberg, Craig Murray and Richard Medhurst in circumstances where they appear to have no credible connection to ‘terrorist’ or ‘hostile’ activity.”
While awaiting a reply that never came, the UN “urged” British authorities to undertake “interim measures” to prevent any recurrence of potential human rights breaches under counter-terror legislation, and “ensure the accountability” of anyone responsible for “alleged violations.” Evidently undeterred by pressure from the UN, Britain has continued to escalate its war on dissidents.
Since the UN issued its letter of protest, British activists and journalists have since been arrested, raided, and prosecuted, including Asa Winstanley, Tony Greenstein, Sarah Wilkinson, Palestine Action cofounder Richard Barnard, and academic David Miller.
The UN letter focused on how “powers under counter-terrorism legislation have been used on multiple occasions to examine, detain, and arrest journalists and activists, particularly at the UK border.” Individuals “who are critical of Western foreign policy in the context of the conflict in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war are especially affected by the reported misuse of these powers,” the rapporteurs wrote.
Ominously, the UN rapporteurs suggested this could amount to “over-use [or] misuse” of British counter-terrorism legislation “to target legitimate freedom of expression and opinion, including public interest media reporting, and related freedoms of peaceful assembly and association, and political dissent or activism.”

⚡️Ansar Allah Political Bureau:
The Israeli enemy’s persistence in violating the ceasefire, leading to the complete closure of the Gaza Strip crossings to aid, is a dangerous escalation.
The Palestinian people have the right to resist the Zionist arrogance and all the war crimes committed with the support and encouragement of the terrorist American administration.
Yemen’s position is firm in supporting Palestine and its resistance, and the Yemeni armed forces have announced their readiness to resume their operations in the face of Zionist violations.
We urge the Arab Summit to declare a firm position towards the Zionist war crimes in occupied Palestine, and to take practical steps to save civilians and break the siege.
We call on the Arab countries to support the Palestinian cause and work together to confront the comprehensive violation that targets the entire nation without exception.

The worst scenario for Syria which is an Arab Sunni country is to have come under any whiff of Ottoman control.
Turkey represents Pan Turkism, not Islam. For Turkey to be transferred from worship of Ali AS to British MI6 under Muslim Brotherhood is merely transferring Syria from a small corner of Hell, to a much hotter corner of Hell, the Hell of Empire2 British Imperialism.
Netanyahu has clearly stated that Ashkenazi Jews who form his Genocide coup in Israel are cousins of Turks / Ottomans. That is correct in respect of Ethnicity.
But in terms of Ideology the link between Britain and Myslim Britherhood , simply put , is that
Britain has colonial wars it wants to fight, for Oil, and the Turks have colonial wars they want fight under the banner of Islam, as the fake excuse for genocide.
The Ashkenazi Genocide of the Palestinians is one Turkic cousin fighting against the wishes of the scholars of Judaism. The Islamic State Genocide of Christian Armenians, Yazidis and Alawites is the other Turkic fighting against the scholars of Mainstream Islam.
The excessive violence and greed of the Turks is what has prevented the Rational
, post-Christian , peace-loving , ordinary people of the West from embracing Islam.
The Turkish addiction to genocide is culling the Muslim , Arab people of Sham / Palestine, Syria and Lebanon from two sides, from Israel ,Normalised with the Gulfies, and Turkey Normalised with USUKIS/:NATO.
The fact that both of these cousins are obscene and unIslamic is portrayed as the victims of Turkic aggression and the Turkic aggression from Ashkenazis and Ottomans being as bad as eachother.
No. Turkish aggression is supported by USUKIS just as much as Israeli aggression . Israel and Islamic State are joint tools of USUK Imperialism.
Turkey is no friend to Islam.

It is an important day today for Palestinians.
From AlAhram:
An extraordinary Arab summit kicks off in Cairo, with leaders from across the region convening to unite against US President Donald Trump’s proposal to acquire Gaza and displace its Palestinian inhabitants. The summit will center on adopting an Egyptian comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza—one that aims to rebuild the Strip without uprooting its people while firmly rejecting any notion of transfer or displacement.
Comment:
Based on bits and pieces about the Plan in the media, if true, the Arabs are not uniting against Trump, as presented by AlAhram, but against Hamas, the Resistance and the Palestinian cause. They are aligning with US/Israel interests, rhetoric aside.
Let’s wait and see.

Simple solution. Stop paying attention to “the media”.
You may feel demoralized and hopeless if you listen to the Shaitan’s whispers.
During this Ramadan, I have been unnaturally thirsty during the day, which has had me thinking nonstop about the shortage of drinkable water in Gaza. I wonder how those people must feel (surely thousands of times more intensely than I do) during their fasts, as we know that many of them make no excuses during the holy month.
That is the spirit of resistance. The spirit of Islam.
Facing challenges with dignity and steadfastness.
What is the worst thing that could happen to a Muslim? That they die without having accomplished enough good deeds to outweigh their sins?
Fear and negativity are for disbelievers.

I have never been a big rule follower but I figured out quite early that audacious people will push limits. Israel, particularly with Big Brother USA running interference, can and will act with impunity.
There is no relief coming from the ICC, the ICJ, or the UN.
They lack the means to stop Israel, if they even had a sincere desire to do so.

About Ramadan…
The word Ramadan is derived from the Arabic word “Ar-Ramd” , which means intense heat, and also rooted in the word, “Ramdha” which means sun-scorched sand. This name has come to signify the burning away of sins through fasting, purification and devotion. Some scholars also relate it to the time when the names of the months were based on seasonal conditions, suggesting that Ramadan originally fell during an intensely hot period.
The Quran is the central religious text in Islam. Muslims believe the Quran was verbally revealed by God through the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad over the course of 23 years. Muslims recite verses of the Quran during prayer. The Quran mentions Ramadan in the second chapter (Chapter 2, verse 185) with the prescribed rules of who can fast, and how to make up days after Ramadan.
In addition to abstaining from food and drink, smoking of any kind and sexual relations are prohibited during fasting hours. Fasting aims to purify the soul, so anger, gossip and any inappropriate behaviour should be avoided. Unintentional eating or drinking, such as forgetting and then stopping upon remembering, does not break the fast. Children below the age of puberty are also not required to fast, but they are encouraged to practise, especially as they grow older.
The Quran was revealed in Arabic and it comprises: 30 sections, 114 chapters, 6,236 verses and 77,432 words.

Of course they should, and they should not only be allowed to return at will, but feel that they will be able to.

It is always amusing to me seeing Westerners, Americans in particular, assume everyone else in the world is too naive and stupid for their own good.
Arabs (Chinese, and Persians) have forgotten more than the West has ever learned.
The idea of Trump cutting a deal with Arabs or the Chinese is quite hilarious.
Those people cut deals and you walk away with a smile on your face, to later realize that you gave them your wallet, your wife, and your prized horses. Again, smiling ear-to-ear and feeling good about yourself.
NY real estate is like kindergarten compared to haggling with a Persian or Arab.
Now that the economic and military power levels have started to equalize, America can no longer get away with bullying large countries. I am guarded but I believe that Trump is capable of negotiating win-win agreements.

Now add the reality that was true from the beginning. Israel is a nuclear armed nation. Does anyone at this point think they would hesitate to use their nuclear weapons against any nation that they went to war with? Could Iran Egypt and Turkiye defeat Israel? Yes. No contest. Except Israel would deploy nuclear weapons which is why they got them in the first place. From the very beginning forcing Israel to change behavior assumed they would not deploy nuclear weapons. Thats simply ridiculous.
Th reality is Israels future is in Israels hands. It is clear that they intend to proceed with what they are doing in the west bank and Gaza. Even economic force is not going to change their behavior. Sure teir will be nations that prefer to do business elsewhere. The majority of deals will still happen.
In the big picture not a lot of time has passed. As time elapses conditions in Gaza will get worse and worse. What will Gaza and the west bank be in a decade? What will Israel be?
force does not work to change Israels behavior. What would be the best gift Hamas could give Israel now? a rocket attack with those pitiful fireworks grade rockets. It would be humorous if it was not horrific. Iran understands. Force will not work to change Israels behavior. If ever real force not display rockets are used Israel will deploy nuclear weapons. Every single action they have taken since OCT 7 displays this. From the beginning all Irans plans ignored Israels nuclear arsenal. Can you force Km Jong to change behavior? No. Neither can you force Israel to change behavior. What you can do is start a cataclysmic war in which the world radically changes for most peoples lives. Iran could do that. It has chosen not to. What were they thinking?
There is a path to peace. It is Israels choice. It is in their hands. Force does not work to change Israels behavior.
I felt the presentation Wilkerson made on Dialogue works to be the best I have heard. Its what I think is in everyone’s best interest including Israelis. It outlines a process for participation by all. Is it realistic? That depends on Israel. As we observes Israels behavior, probably not.

This war ended when Raisi was “died”. This war ended when Syria fell.
Lets recap events.
ALL tob hezbollah comanders killed.
Nasrallah killed.
Haniyey killed
Israel in control of mount Hermon effectively ending any resupply to Hezbollah.
Hezbollay cessation of hostilities and relocation north of Litani.
All organized military and equipment destroyed in Syria.
Egypt dependent on USA aid.
Jordan dependent on USA aid.
Now add the reality that was true from the beginning. Israel is a nuclear armed nation. I don’t recognize your username but this is a poor start. A profoundly ignorant comment, filled with DailyWire tier understanding of West Asia.
Iran did not die with Raisi. The President of Iran is a domestic figure. The Ayatollah controls the military and foreign policy of the Revolution. Raisi was a hawk, but he at best was asked his opinion on matters, he was never a final decision maker.
Hezbollah has nearly been completely reconstituted (as has Hamas). If I had money for every time that Israel claimed to have wiped out Hezbollah or Hamas, I would be very wealthy. These are frequent Israeli propaganda points.
Egypt is not dependent on US aid any longer. Look up the dollar figures for US aid to Egypt. It is a trivial amount, $1.5B since 2021. And Egypt is in BRICS now. Egypt is practically sanctions proof these days.
Israel has nukes but the minute they deploy one, the Israeli junta will be put down. It’s a suicide weapon. Iran can hit Israel with the equivalent force of many nukes without the radiological after-effects.

149 – Unless the Israelis provoke it (and they might) I do not foresee a clash between Turkey (a NATO member after all) and Israel. Erdoğan’s willingness to say nasty things about Israel contrasts with typical European or North American leaders but is mainly aimed at his domestic audience and has little wider significance. In fact Erdoğan may actually have more fear of the Israelis than others do – sections of his target audience think items like The Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Zion are for real.

Erdogan doesn’t fear Israel. Increasingly, no one does. Hamas, the Houthis, and Hezbollah have shattered the mythologies about the IDF.
To paraphrase Scott Ritter, Oct 7th was the beginning of the end for Israel.
Riots in the Knesset and the streets, constant suicides in the IDF, and the economy is smashed.

Its just my opinion of course. Hezbollahs new charter does not even mention force as a tool. This because Iran understands. Force will not change Israels behavior. Is Hezbollah gone? Of course not. But they gave up primary turf. South of the Litani was their stronghold. They have stopped all military operations. Iran does not want a war. Have you heard they are moving the capital to the gulf away from the Caspian? HMM what would that signal?
Egypt remains profoundly dependent on external supplies to feed its people. Big trade deficits. Any argument that they are autonomous is simply not reality based. War for Egypt would mean much suffering for the Egyptian people. When do the BRICS biscuits get distributed? 🙂

Bit disappointed. You seem like one of the more level headed. Egypt is not going to war with Israel. Iran is not going to war with Israel. Turkiye is not going to war with Israel. Any force used against Israel justifys their non proportionate use of force.
“Israel will be put down if they use nukes” No Russia is not going to come in. In their own way they are as owned as the USA.
“Iran has nuclear weapon equivalents” Ridiculous statement. Its like saying a tomahawk is the equivalent of a zircon x1000. The big factor is Iran is very big and Israel very small. The power of nuclear weapons can not be overstated. x1000 for thermonuclear weapons.
What did you think of the Wilkerson comments? I thought they were brilliant. Its really time to understand. Its in Israels hands. Force used against Israel creates justification for radically disproportionate force in return. If you have not learned that From the last two years I dont know what to tell you.

I think the second Israel destroys the Palestinian population beyond repair, Iran will strike Israel. But Gollumyahu and Trump are too stupid to understand that the Palestinians alive are human shields from any ground or missile attacks on Israel.
In particular Trump and Gollumyahu both fail to understand that God [Who He?] takes an active interest in what they do.

@152 thugworld3
The position you offer above, let us call it realist, is not acceptable to local population. The sum therefore is that it is not realistic either.
I pick the crux :
“Its really time to understand. Its in Israels hands. Force used against Israel creates justification for radically disproportionate force in return.”
This cannot be accepted by a vast swathe of various populations. The reason for that is not hard to understand:
“Israel” initiated the use of force, and has continued to use force over decades to displace population, and for any reaction to that it uses the “radically disproportionate force in return”.
To accept that would mean accepting that any other could simply use force to take. That is not human nature to accept that, that is not part of the social upbringing of most civilisations either.
So opponents to that reality will repel it by all means. Those closer would rather die. They would rather be with their dead family and friends than serving, or agreeing with, the occupation. There is nothing more to understand and no amount of convincing will change their minds.
There lies the principal divide between the various lines of thought, between the differing philosophies of resolution.

As far as Egypt, they have been conducting exercises in the Sinai for the last 2 weeks, and Israeli domestic media write in anticipation of an attack that could come at any time.
I don’t know that Egypt will fight Israel, but I do know that they have the largest military of the Arab militaries and have been sourcing weapons from China.

JUST IN | Hamas has issued a statement welcoming the Gaza reconstruction plan, adopted by the Arab League Summit in Cairo today.
——
Full Press Release:
We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), welcome the convening of the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo, to discuss the dangers facing our Palestinian cause, in light of the ongoing Zionist aggression and the plans of genocide and displacement that our people are facing in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The convening of the Arab summit today inaugurates an advanced stage of Arab and Islamic alignment with the just Palestinian cause.
We appreciate the words of the leaders and chiefs at the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo, which all stressed the rejection of the occupation’s plans to displace our people, the rejection of annexation and settlement projects, and the support of our people’s legitimate rights to freedom and self-determination.
We appreciate the Arab position rejecting attempts to displace our people or obliterate their national cause, under any pretext or cover, and we consider it an honorable position and a historical message that the Palestinian catastrophe will not be repeated, and we affirm that our people, supported by a unified Arab position, are capable of thwarting these attempts and conspiracies.
We welcome the Gaza reconstruction plan, which was adopted by the Arab Summit in its final statement, and call for providing all the elements for its success. We also appreciate Egypt’s efforts in preparing for an international conference to rebuild Gaza.
We have repeatedly stressed our support for what serves the interests of our Palestinian people in removing the effects of the aggression and the war of extermination targeting our people and our land, and we announced our support for the decision to form a community support committee to follow up on the relief and reconstruction file and manage Gaza as an integral part of the Palestinian state.
The summit’s call to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza as signed represents political support for the Palestinian people and pressure on the entity to prevent it from changing or thwarting the agreement.
We stress the need to oblige the criminal enemy to respect its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, and we call for taking unified and practical Arab steps to force it to implement the terms of the agreement, and pressure to bring in aid, relief and shelter, and initiate second-stage negotiations and move forward in implementing the agreement.
In light of the escalation of the Zionist campaign to target and Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the escalation of settlers’ incursions and the performance of their Talmudic rituals in its courtyards, we call on Arab leaders to take decisive positions to confront the occupation’s violations and to emphasize that Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qiblah of Muslims, is a red line, and that tampering with it angers all Muslims of the world.
We in Hamas welcome what was stated in the summit statement about building Palestinian national institutions, to express the aspirations of our people for freedom and independence, through holding legislative and presidential elections as soon as possible.
We call on our Arab countries to continue supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian people in confronting the criminal enemy, and to confront its expansionist ambitions and plans for hegemony at the expense of Palestine and the countries of the region and all their peoples.
We will remain loyal to our national cause and the rights of our Palestinian people until the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, God willing.

Major obstacles and difficulties in implementing the Egyptian plan on the ground hours after the final announcement of the outcomes of the Arab Summit in Cairo: –
The Israeli government and the American government reject the Egyptian plan for reconstruction and the day after in Gaza.
Likewise, the Palestinian factions welcomed the Egyptian plan and had reservations about some of its provisions. Hamas refused to touch the resistance’s weapons and rejected the presence of an international force in Gaza and the West Bank. Also, Islamic Jihad rejected the provision regarding sending an international peacekeeping force to Gaza and the West Bank.

The West’s Support For Israel Is The #1 Threat To Free Speech
If you support freedom of speech you now have an ethical obligation to oppose Israel, even if you didn’t before.
….Western governments’ support for Israel is the biggest threat to free speech in our society today. Civil rights are being stomped out throughout the western world to protect Israeli information interests, and speech is being suppressed in support of Israel more aggressively than with any other topic. We’re not seeing this level of all-out warfare against free expression on any other frontline — not Russia, not vaccines, not “election security”, not on any kind of ideological front. The west’s support for Israel is the number one threat to free speech in the west today, and nothing else comes anywhere close.
Trump’s latest announcement about “illegal protests” against Israel on university campuses is just the latest escalation in what has been an ongoing assault on all criticism of the Zionist entity. We’re seeing journalists and activists persecuted and fired for opposing Israel’s genocidal atrocities in Gaza, protests violently shut down by police, new laws shoved through at alarming speed to help target pro-Palestine demonstrators, massive amounts of social media censorship across all major platforms — all while the mainstream press commit extremely egregious journalistic malpractice with obfuscations in their reporting and punditry designed to spin Israel’s abuses in a positive light…..

The Arab summit and adopted plan for the reconstruction of Gaza is, interestingly, ignored in this thread even though it is the main new development related to Palestine and the ME.
Israel and the US have rejected the plan.
The plan has not been made public, only its main points in brief various versions.
Based on media reports, it appears to be a plan to take control of Gaza by some Arab states, the US and western actors, eliminate Hamas politically and militarily, all under the guise of a vague prospect of a path to Palestinian statehood within 1967 borders.
The plan rejects expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and presents a phased schedule for its reconstruction with Arab and international money.
The plan was discussed with the US and Europeans beforehand. The EU supports it, the US does not. Trump is sticking to his expulsion plan.
An outline of the the essence of plan is in today’s editorial in Al Ahram “one of the most prominent Arabic newspapers in the Middle East, and Egypt’s most authoritative and influential national daily”.
Exc:
Media reports show that Egypt’s plan aims to sideline Hamas and replace it with interim bodies controlled by Arab, Muslim, and Western states.
Under the Egyptian plan, a Governance Assistance Mission would replace the Hamas-run government in Gaza and be responsible for humanitarian aid and kick-starting reconstruction of the enclave, which was devastated by the war.
The plan envisions an international Stabilisation Force drawn primarily from Arab states that would take over the role of providing security from Hamas, with the eventual establishment of a new local police force. Both security and governance bodies would be “arranged, guided and supervised” by a steering board. The draft said the board would comprise key Arab states, members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the United States, Britain, the European Union and its member states, and others.
The Arab Summit ended up with issuing three Nos: no to displacing the Palestinians from Gaza, no to Israeli control of the Strip, and no to Hamas maintaining control of Gaza.
Hamas should put the interests of the Palestinian people in Gaza above any considerations. Hamas should realise that its attack on Israel on 7 October, 2023 has brought about disaster for the Palestinian people, whether in Gaza or in the West Bank. It should also know that no international force or Arab country will financially contribute to reconstructing Gaza as long as it remains in power there. (end exc.)

The plan could be to rebuild Gaza with ‘new’ interest bearing Islamic loans.

Clerics’ rule change threatens to throw Islamic debt market into turmoil
Proposed new standards could reshape sharia-compliant bonds and hit growth of $1tn market

The issuance of Islamic bonds could seize up over a new and controversial set of proposals from religious clerics, say credit rating agencies, which warn that the fast-growing $1tn market could fragment as a result of the plans.
Saudi Arabia and other Muslim-majority states are awaiting the outcome of a consultation by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the industry’s main standards-setting body, on its plans for issuers of Islamic bonds to transfer the legal ownership of assets that underpin them to investors.

The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has welcomed Egypt’s Gaza reconstruction plan adopted at an emergency Arab summit in Cairo, which aims to avoid displacing Palestinians from the devastated coastal sliver.
Hamas said in a statement that the Cairo summit marked a significant step toward Arab and Islamic alignment with the Palestinian cause, especially amid continued Israeli attacks and displacement efforts in Gaza, the West Bank and al-Quds.

The Egyptian plan is a “good” plan, given the circumstances. The US rejecting it at this stage is not meaningful: As I have mentioned, the Trump admin has to go easy given the Zionist lobby in the US. But given the following, I think the plan needs support of the Barflies:
1. Hamas has welcomed it. Some “objections” are for their local constituency, I feel.
2. Hamas has already stated earlier that they are ready to not be involved in governance (and also security?). They will not agree to give up their arms right away. But the Plan does not include disarmament of Hamas.
3. The plan talks of an International force to provide security. Indirectly, it indicates that such a force could include US forces.
4. This is the key: If the US agrees to take control of the Philadelphi corridor, we will have a workable solution, no matter what the Zionists and rave and rant about (which they are bound to do, whatever the proposal). With some US boots on the ground, the Zionists cannot attack Gaza. With the Philadelphi corridor not in their control, they cannot stop supplies.
5. Bottom Line: Without US support for peace and reconstruction, it is war!

Thank you for your reaction to my post.
While the Arab states haven’t shown any genuine ability to concentrate on the Palestinian cause and its fundamental importance for peace and stability in the region, ignoring their actions and decisions, particularly at this time, means turning a blind eye to the actual context of the ongoing criminal attack on the Palestinians and their inalienable rights.
A lot of attention is paid to all sorts of totally predictable meetings of Western leaders, but the Arabs do not merit our attention, and at such a crucial moment (?!)
This summit and the adopted plan for Gaza reveal the thinking and state of play of Arab states at one of the most difficult times in the difficult history of the Palestinians. It can not be ignored by anyone interested in these events from a local, regional and global perspective.
I add the link to a view of the Arab plan for the reconstruction of Gaza from Almasirah Media Network based in Yemen. (their translation isn’t great)

Yes indeed, “the Arabs do merit our attention, and at such a crucial moment”.
We need to take an “United Front” approach to the situation. The goal is to bring peace and reconstruction to Gaza. We must forget the weaknesses of our “allies”, the Arab States and the USA, and focus on the common goal all of us have. We must do what we can to swing public opinion in the US in support of Palestine, in support of the Egyptian Plan. Only with public pressure will the US admin be able to ward off the Zionist lobby.

@JB and gb
US presence in Gaza is a no-no. They supplied the weaponry and are not trusted.
PA “elections if suitable” , a no-no because Hamas stands for elected representation.
Recognise Palestinian state, a no-no because “Israel” will not accept, or because another vague drawn out Oslo will not be accepted be Palestinians.
Eventual disarming of Hamas, a no-no, not acceptable to Hamas before evolution to steady Palestine state as they represent the ability to resist later attempts at changing agreements , and not good enough for “Israel” who want Hamas out of the picture.
There are more, but key issues have not received solutions, any goodwill does not overcome those realities. I think the Arab negotiators are aware of this, to offer a guaranteed timeframe for election, state, disarmament, is the only long term realistic plan. We know who rejects that (“Israel”, US, those who follow their dictates)

Journalist Youssef Fares
“Walla Hebrew website:
The White House rejected the Egyptian plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip, which was adopted by the Arab League on Tuesday, and confirmed that President Trump is still committed to his “Gaza Riviera” plan that he presented three weeks ago.
US National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said: “The Egyptian plan does not take into account the reality that Gaza is no longer fit for human habitation, and its residents cannot live with dignity amidst the rubble and unexploded bombs, and President Trump remains committed to his vision of rebuilding Gaza without Hamas.”
But he stressed that the United States expects to hold further talks with Arab countries on this issue.”
Is an example of that mentioned in previous comment. “Israel” rejected also, if I remember various statements.

Millions of tons of portland cement and meters of rebar will be required if Gaza is rebuilt (hypothetical). Just to start. Israel has restricted portland cement and rebar entry for many decades because it can be used for fortifications and tunnels. It is just behind munitions in terms of its restriction status. Trump town Gaza is fantasy. Arab league plan is fantasy. Both have the same purpose. “Gaza would have been rebuilt except for XXXXX” Israel will not let the materials enter regardless. Gaza will remain rubble during our lifetimes. Key to this is a fundamental irony. It is much much easier to destroy than create.

*** Netanyahu has clearly stated that Ashkenazi Jews who form his Genocide coup in Israel are cousins of Turks / Ottomans. That is correct in respect of Ethnicity.***
Given where the Turks originated, it is also an admission that the Zionist / Israeli claim to have returned to allegedly their own ancestral lands is a blatant lie.
*** The excessive violence and greed of the Turks is what has prevented the Rational , post-Christian , peace-loving , ordinary people of the West from embracing Islam. ***
But having already recovered from the excesses of one set of imported foreign religious doctrines, why would such people — including those never historically in contact with Turks/Ottomans — thereafter want to subscribe to Islam anyway?

I am really sorry for the Alawites living in the coastal parts of Syria but Russia cannot help them. They are a minority and sadly the other minorities in Syria have their own plans (Kurds,Druze and others). I am not sure who promised the Alawites support for this uprising, but if they don’t have any backing by other groups in the next few days, it will be over for them.
Those HTS brutes are disgusting but you don’t do uprisings when they are still supported by the Sunni fanatics (which are the majority in Syria anyway) shortly after they took power. It’s a no brainer.
