News & views related to the war in Palestine …

Comments

As comments mention at the end of the last Palestine thread, Israel refuses to go on to phase two of the cease-fire and has stopped all aid into Gaza. They have resumed some bombing, killing at least 4 Palestinians this morning. Israel claims that this is all the fault of Hamas.
Importantly, Netanyahu admits the idea of skipping the discusions with Hamas about phase two and punishing the Palestinians for not going along with this idea, by withholding aid and threatening resumption of starvation and bombing, came from Trump and Witkoff.
Note that Netanyahu is trying to claim that bringing goods, food, tents and earth-moving equipment into Gaza was only for the first phase of the cease-fire not for the entire agreement, and he expects Hamas to renegotiate all of that now – while he has refused to enter into negotiations on phase two, which should have started long ago.

Al Jazeera sources: Israel demanded Hamas release 5 living prisoners and 10 bodies in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and increased aid
Netanyahu decided, IN COORDINATION WITH THE U.S. ADMINISTRATION, to stop the entry of aid trucks into the Gaza Strip.
A martyr and a number of injuries as a result of the occupation’s drones targeting a group of citizens in the Al-Masryeen neighborhood in Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu’s Office:
With the first stage of the prisoner swap deal over, and Hamas rejecting Witkoff’s proposal to continue negotiations that Israel agreed to, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided to halt the entry of all goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip as of this morning.
Israel will not agree to a ceasefire without the release of its prisoners, and if Hamas continues to refuse, there will be additional consequences.

Netanyahu’s government approved this morning the possibility of calling up an additional 400,000 reserve soldiers.
Israeli Foreign Minister:
We are ready for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, but not for free.
Our commitment to bring goods into Gaza was only in the first phase and it has ended.
With the end of the truce, the number of martyrs in Gaza has reached 4 since this morning.
Netanyahu:
We agreed to the proposal of the American envoy Witkoff in full coordination with President Trump and his team.
There will be additional consequences if Hamas continues its intransigence and does not release our kidnapped soldiers.
Hamas is mistaken if it thinks it can extend the ceasefire without releasing the hostages.

The US can send whatever they want, it won’t intimidate the resistance.
If Israel was doing well, they wouldn’t need all of these public weapons transfers.
I don’t remember the date, but the upcoming meeting of the Arab countries will decide this.
Or it won’t. I am not hopeful.

The Zio- Nazi’s that are committing genocide have halted ALL aid to Gaza.
“Israel has halted all humanitarian aid to Gaza, citing a refusal by the militant group Hamas to extend phase one of an internationally brokered ceasefire deal that expired on Saturday.
The Israeli prime minister’s office made the announcement in a post on X on Sunday.”

If US stockpiles were high, they wouldn’t need Hegseth to look into *buying back* stuff left behind in Afghanistan.
Or Rubio to try to expedite $4B worth to Israel.

The Orange Yankee, Zionist POTUS – and his office to further aid and abet in the genocide in Gaza.
“US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed a declaration to expedite the delivery of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Israel, calling President Donald Trump the Jewish state’s great ally, according to a statement released on Saturday.
The move is part of the White House’s broader effort to bolster Israel’s military capabilities amid ongoing regional tensions. Since Trump took office on January 20, his administration has reportedly approved nearly $12 billion in major foreign military sales to West Jerusalem.”

Somber (8).
They are not hostages – they are illegal settlers, squatting on occupied lands – anyone illegally squatting on Palestinian lands – including concert goers ARE fair game – there are at least two-UN Resolutions, that state oppressed people have the right to take up arms – and Physically remove their oppressors.

Posted by: Republicofscotland | Mar 2 2025 15:49 utc | 11

A prime example – of illegal settlers in Palestine doing what they do best.
“Hundreds of illegal Israeli settlers have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, provoking Muslims during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
Palestinian Wafa news agency reported on Sunday that more than 500 Israeli settlers forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the second day of Ramadan under the protection of Israeli soldiers.
The settlers conducted provocative moves around Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third-holiest site, and performed Jewish rituals largely in the eastern area of the compound.
The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) has repeatedly condemned the Israeli regime’s incursion into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied Old City of al-Quds.
The ministry, which is responsible for managing Islamic religious affairs and Islamic charitable endowments, has recorded hundreds of Israeli settler incursions into the holy site.
The Israeli regime allows the settlers “to storm and defile” the holy sites, it said. During the incursions, the settlers carry out rituals in defiance of the sanctity of the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims.”

The illegal squatting Zion-Nazi’s, hoping to bring in reserve IOF troops.
“The Israeli cabinet has approved the extension of a special order that authorizes the regime’s military to recruit up to 400,000 soldiers for reserve duty by the end of May 2025.
The move came on Sunday after Israel prevented its ceasefire deal with the Hamas resistance group from going to the second phase, raising speculations about a resumption of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
A copy of the order said that 2025 would be considered a “year of war.””

Must read –
For all who have not yet read it, I link an edited transcript of Professor Jeffrey Sachs’ very relevant speech in the European Parliament at an event titled “The Geopolitics of Peace,” on Feb. 19, 2025.
There is a part about US/Israel and Palestine shedding light on the 1996 decision about one state (solution) in Palestine – the state of Israel.
Exc:
The U.S. government’s plan was partly to clean up [remove] old Soviet allies and partly to take out supporters of Hamas and Hezbollah. Netanyahu’s idea was and is that there will be one state, thank you, in all pre-1948 Palestine. Yes, only one state. It will be Israel. Israel will control all the territory from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
And if anyone objects, we will overthrow them. Well, not Israel, exactly, but more specifically our friend, the United States.
That’s been U.S. policy until this morning. We don’t know whether it will change. Now the only wrinkle is that maybe the U.S. will “own Gaza” [according to President Trump] instead of Israel owning Gaza.
Netanyahu’s idea has been around at least for 25 years. It goes back to a document called “Clean Break” that Netanyahu and his American political team put together in 1996 to end the idea of the two-state solution. You can also find that document online.
(In 1996, Netanyahu and his American advisors issued the document “Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” with the Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies. This new “clean break” strategy called upon Israel to reject the framework of “land for peace.” This effectively advocated that Israel would not withdraw from the Palestinian occupied lands of 1967 in exchange for regional peace. Instead, Israel would continue with its policy of occupation until securing “peace for peace,” by reshaping the Middle East to its liking. Redrawing the map of the region consisted of toppling governments that were opposed to Israel’s dominance.)
So, these are long-term U.S. projects. It’s wrong to ask, “Is it Clinton? Is it Bush? Is it Obama?” That’s the boring way to look at American politics, as a day-to-day or year-to-year game. Yet that’s not what American politics is. (end excerpt)

Hamas is Gaza. They will sooner die than accept exile, just as the Palestinians would rather die than let Israel build beachfront resorts.

Long text, but an important “for the record”.
Journalist Youssef Fares
“In order not to fall victim to the partial news: Netanyahu’s office statement creates a justification for returning to fighting, not for sustaining calm, as it cancels the US envoy’s proposal for the second phase and extends the first phase without real gains in exchange for a temporary cessation of fighting. Hamas is expected to renew its position in rejecting this manipulation, to appear as if it caused the return of fighting, the end of calm, and the return of war during the month of Ramadan. The resistance’s acceptance of this manipulation will cause it to lose more living prisoners and increase its weakness at the negotiating table.”
Journalist Suhaib Al-Masalma
“Hamas Press Release:
The statement issued by the office of the terrorist occupation government Prime Minister Netanyahu, regarding his adoption of American proposals to extend the first phase of the agreement, according to arrangements that violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, is a blatant attempt to evade the agreement and avoid entering into negotiations for its second phase.
Netanyahu’s decision to stop humanitarian aid is cheap blackmail, a war crime and a blatant coup against the agreement. The mediators and the international community must move to pressure the occupation and stop its punitive and immoral measures against more than two million people in the Gaza Strip.
The war criminal Netanyahu is trying to impose political facts on the ground, which his fascist army failed to establish over fifteen months of brutal genocide, due to the steadfastness, bravery and resistance of our people. He seeks to overturn the signed agreement to serve his narrow internal political calculations, at the expense of the occupation prisoners in Gaza and their lives.
The terrorist occupation’s allegations regarding the movement’s violation of the ceasefire agreement are misleading and baseless, and a failed attempt to cover up its daily and systematic violations of the agreement, which have led to the martyrdom of more than a hundred of our people in Gaza, in addition to disrupting the humanitarian protocol, preventing the entry of shelter and relief supplies, and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
We also affirm that the behavior of Netanyahu and his government clearly violates Article 14 of the agreement, which stipulates that all procedures related to the first phase continue in the second phase, and that the guarantors will do their utmost to ensure the continuation of the negotiations until an agreement is reached on the terms for implementing the second phase.
We call on the US administration to stop its bias and alignment with the fascist plans of the war criminal Netanyahu, which target our people and their existence on their land, and we affirm that all projects and plans that bypass our people and their established rights on their land, self-determination, and liberation from the occupation are destined to fail and collapse.
We reaffirm our commitment to implementing the signed agreement in its three stages, and we have repeatedly announced our readiness to begin negotiations on the second stage of the agreement.
We call on the mediators to pressure the occupation to implement its obligations under the agreement, in all its stages, implement the humanitarian protocol, and bring in shelters and rescue equipment to the Gaza Strip.
The war criminal Netanyahu and his extremist government bear full responsibility for obstructing the progress of the agreement, or any foolishness he may commit by turning against it, including the humanitarian consequences related to the occupation prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
We emphasize that the only way to restore the occupation prisoners is to adhere to the agreement, immediately enter into negotiations to begin the second stage, and for the occupation to commit to implementing its commitments. ”

Heard in addition to stopping humanitarian aid, they’ve resumed fighting in Khan Yunis and in N. Gaza with arial campaign, again.
Various proposals still popping around.
US already knows that when full on fighting begins, Yemen will follow through with their Tel Aviv warning.
Hezbollah is an unknown.
US will blame Yemen on Iran. From there, ?

Best thing Hamas can do now, is hold the line. Keep saying no. There is no reason not to. Can’t be more obvious that USReal doesn’t want a ceasefire, let alone a permanent ceasefire.

I went searching for Ramadan fighting history and found this

Some Muslims believe that Ramadan is a good time to fight for a just cause. Others believe that it is a blessing to die as a martyr during Ramadan.
There have been several significant battles that took place during Ramadan, including the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Guadalete, and the Battle of Qādisiyyah.

What will be written in the history books about this Ramadan?

The notion that the cutoff of humanitarian aid was directly approved and coordinated with the Americans sources to a single unidentified Israeli official. Israel has extensive track record of such information “leaks” to its domestic media, most if not all of which prove to be incorrect, misleading, and/or deceptive.
The idea of extending Phase One of the Gaza ceasefire became necessary as Israel was simultaneously refusing to participate in talks regarding Phase Two, while also articulating new maximalist conditions for such talks. Phase Two would require full withdrawal of Israeli military from Gaza, which is the bottom line here – Israel refuses to do this. Israel’s concepts of the near-future involve escalating military pressure on both sections of the occupied territories, with goal of encouraging “voluntary re-settlement” elsewhere.
The Trump admin is attempting to resolve an intractable situation which has stymied many mediators and diplomats for decades. For a just resolution, in keeping with consistent directives from the UN, Israeli must be compelled to relinquish its administrative control over the territories and reduce its aggressive military footprint across the region. The US may be the only entity capable of delivering this harsh medicine, but whether the trump admin’s transactional instincts can overcome the domestic zionist lobby, or even their own biases, is yet unknown.
Egypt’s nascent “reconstruction” plans look to involve the EU as an major outside partner, but the EU is otherwise preoccupied with mobilizing for its big showdown against Russia.

All food entering Gaza stopped by Israel as they refuse to enter stage two of the ceasefire. This was predictable. Stage two required Israel withdrawal from the Philadelphi corridor. A good question s why does the Philadelphi corridor exist? A thin strip of land between two nations that has a special status? Its not like any other border one mation on one side and the other on the other.
The philadelphi corridor was always the issue. Why dont they just relinquish it get the hostages then take it back? The Philadelphi corridor is Egyptian. Borders seem to be mallable in he region none the less it was very dicy when Israel took it last year. It risked war with Egypt. Once again the question is raised why does the Philadelphi corridor exist? The answer is obvious it exists for Israel to control the border between Egypt and Gaza.
Hamas of course knows their resupply depends on that border being porous. Critical components for their production of weapons cross that border. Food crosses that border to feed Palestinians. Here lies the real issue. Israel will not give up the Philadelphi. Hamas understand they are finished if Israel controls that border.
The idea that Hamas has won is ridiculous. After WW2 Germany was n rubble. Did Germany win the war? Hamas most certainly has inflicted casualties. Thats not winning. Hamas goal is to return to he status quo before the war. Just a return to the status quo.
Philadelphi is where rubber hits the road. USA in control of Philadelphi would allow food into Gaza.
USA controlling Philadelphi would be a logical first step toward Trump town Gaza. Egypt would be so glad to give up that responsibility. USA stupid to take it but there is obligation here. I think hamas would go for it. Maybe Israel will too with Trump town Gaza the goal. Was the Trump town Gaza presentation designed to solve Philadelphi?

I think some of us last Ramadan thought the on going genocide (if you remember, USReal would not allow even a “pause” during the genocide), and that the awareness of Justice and mercy during Ramadan would call to action Muslims against USReal in a noticeable way.
It did not occur.
I think this year may be different, because all in all, Muslims & secular society as well, are simply becoming fed up.
How it translates out yet is unknown.
I’m not seeing any benefit for US is this either. Trump may “back” Netanyahu, but the facts are, he can get his hotels, and oil contracts and all the ports and stuff via his Arab buddies and Egypt. He knows he doesn’t need the USReal hoax anymore. Further, unless he’s made the decision to go after Iran, I think he’ll make Nuttyahoo suck it up and get out. And the only reason Trump would go after Iran, is to weaken China. And then USReal would be obliterated. None of it is a good choice for Trump. Of course, he may well be sick and tired of USReal himself and want them out of the way. Weaken China’s oil exports, get rid of USReal at the same time, he might see it as a win. This is a proxy like Ukraine that’s now more trouble and expense than it’s worth. Time to dump it.
Anyways, seems Nuttyahoo the only one wanting more genocide. So, we’ll see.

Israel has unilaterally decided to extend Phase One of the ceasefire agreement—a plan it originally proposed itself—without consulting the Palestinians and without transitioning to Phase Two, which was set to begin today.
This move effectively freezes the negotiations at a stage that favors Israel’s strategic interests, delaying key commitments that were expected in the next phase, including a potential Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza and further prisoner exchanges.
Israel retains military leverage by keeping the ceasefire locked in Phase One, avoiding the obligations that Phase Two would have entailed. This unilateral decision sidelines Palestinian voices, reinforcing the pattern of Israel dictating the terms of engagement while bypassing diplomatic agreements that require mutual consent.

In a country already divided – populace, military and judicial, calling up nearly 1/2 million reserves (if in fact Israel still has that many reserves) is poorly considered. It is common parlance that Netanyahu needs war to preserve his government as well as his political status. Unfortunately, the quiesence during the Gaza and Lebanese ceasefires has led he and his military cabinet to believe their own distorted thinking: That Israel “won” and that Hamas, Hezebollah, Yemen and Syrian rebels are cowed in shock and awe at Israeli military prowess. When the ceasefire ends – and it appears to be careening toward that end, Israel faces a multifront war – Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran. Israel’s major strength is not its boots on the ground but its airforce- which even with support from the US is stretched thinly. Furthermore, Iron Dome and David’s Sling have not been shown to be reliable against all types of missles, with some players appearing to have hypersonic missles. (Consider technology transfer) Nasarallah’s funeral(s) should have been a talisman of the united forces arrayed against Israel. Although Trump, Rubio and Hegseth may feel that US troops will gladly march to Bibi’s rescue, such action would inevitably provoke intense nation wide protests, given the ICC designation of the Gaza operation as genocide and myriad atrocities which have played out across the world on social media. Even today, Aaron Bushnell is considered an icon of probity in many venues of the US.

Time, demographics, and technological development are not on Israel’s side, as they are not on America’s side.

@21 Trubind1
We will have to see what Hamas makes of that idea, it is not clear if in Egyptian or Gaza territory ? It sounds too complex to me, it would mean recognising a part for US in control of Gaza, but if on Egyptian side of border then not up to Hamas. Anyway, “Israel” doesn’t seem to want to negotiate beyond extension of phase 1, so mute. The halting of supplies seems to be to force acceptance of that plan.
A press conference soon from Hamas Osama Hamdan.
Seems all is being ramped up, closing deliveries ….and suggestions of bombing existing supplies….
Journalist Suhaib Al-Masalma
“Deputy Knesset Speaker Nissim Vaturi:
Airstrikes must be carried out on food warehouses that entered Gaza”
“White House spokesman:
US will support Israel’s next steps as Hamas unwilling to cease fire”
That implies that if no Cairo then hostilities sooner, because it is not likely they just starve a couple of million people over Ramadan…then again after what we have witnessed so far who knows.

A repeat.
Everything you listed are war crimes, and violate Geneva Convention. Trump now will own this. He thinks Americans will buy the “Hamas” broke the ceasefire.

@40 Trubind1
“Trump now will own this. He thinks Americans will buy the “Hamas” broke the ceasefire.”
Well, it will be portrayed as Hamas refusing to continue the ceasefire, and so being subjected to renewed conflict. This will be true because Hamas refused to accept a continuation of the ceasefire, but it will also be a lie because continuation of the existing ceasefire was based on a certain pre-agreement, one that was not kept by “Israel”.
It is very sneaky, and the “average person” in the west might well buy that continuation was offered and Hamas refused. People believe what they want, as they say.
The closing of supplies to Gaza, it becomes an obvious crime if there are no alternative options. In other words “Israel” might not be seen to be obliged to support the population of Gaza, or to allow support via its territory. This all based on the notion that the target is Hamas. However if there is no other means for supplies to reach Palestinians in Gaza, then it is clearly deliberate starvation. I don’t think they will go there, I think they like some level of deniability, that others could have supplied so why blame them, even though they knowingly cause mass starvation.
So this probably will (try to) be managed alongside offering refuge and supplies in compounds, via US, in Egypt etc. leading to mass displacements, a heavy continuation of the conflict over the rest of Gaza , continued segregation and isolation afterwards, eventually emmigration etc. All “sort of ok” to western audience…deniable.
I don’t see it all going straightforward as that, however.

The outlaws don’t want to bother with pretense any longer.
As for “average Americans”, think most public swept away by Trump being outrageous. But the fact of the matter is, Trump never had a “mandate”… even if you believe in “elections”, he carried a 51-54% vote. Hardly a “ mandate” to do anything.
His poll numbers his first 30 days is lower than any predecessor and most see him as he is, a con man, greedy and willing to sell the nation to anyone for 5 mil a pop.
Being unpopular in a war is nothing new to all the bobble heads behind resolute desk, but his goal is to make money, not babysit Nuttyahoo. The timing for the “peace” president is bad is all.

Why don’t they just send the entire Knesset and stop fooling around with the one by one arrangements?
Let the Israelis come in and sit in the halls of Congress – might as well, since they are the ones making decisions here.
I have many questions about why the Finance Minister of Israel is meeting with the US Treasury Secretary, but no answers that don’t sound like grift, extortion, and theft.
——————
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, one of the more extreme members of the Israeli government, will travel to Washington in the coming days to meet US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. His visit could have significant implications for US policy toward Israel’s goal of annexing the occupied West Bank.
Smotrich is an outspoken proponent of the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the re-establishment of Jewish settlements in the Strip. He is known for genocidal rhetoric, previously saying it may be “moral and justified” for Israel to starve to death two million Palestinians living in Gaza.
According to The Times of Israel, the Biden administration had a tacit policy of boycotting Smotrich and other extremist ministers. But President Biden still provided Israel with the weapons needed to achieve the goals of Smotrich and other far-right Israeli politicians.
Smotrich also holds a ministerial position in the Defense Ministry, which gives him the ability to expand settlements in the West Bank. A settler himself, Smotrich has long been on record calling for the Israeli annexation of the territory and has said that President Trump’s second term in office gives Israel the “opportunity” to advance that goal.
Smotrich has also praised President Trump’s plan for the US to “take over” Gaza, which would require ethnic cleansing. Earlier this month, Smotrich claimed that Trump’s plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza would begin “within weeks.”
The news of Smotrich’s visit comes as the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal is incredibly fragile amid continued Israeli violations. Smotrich has threatened to quit the government if Israel doesn’t restart its genocidal war after the first phase, which ends on Saturday.
Smotrich has claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave him a guarantee that after the first phase, Israel would restart military operations in Gaza with the goal of a “gradual takeover of the entire Gaza Strip.”

Channel 12 News in Israel is to Bibi as Fox News is to Trump.
Channel 12 has been talking about the military investigation into 10/7 and how Israel failed given that they monitor everything inside of Gaza.
Turns out that the Israelis were unable to infiltrate anyone directly inside of Hamas, and when Hamas leaders were being recorded speaking, the Israelis couldn’t understand it because much of what they were saying was quoting the Glorious Quran, ostensibly having common interpretations of the passages being cited.
Trump’s right-hand man Witkoff told Bibi that they have to continue the ceasefire and Bibi feels he cannot. He’s caught between the protestors (imagine hundreds of Jews screaming at you day and night) and his political allies who demand the genocide continue at full strength.
I’m hearing now that in Israel there are a significant number of Israelis who resent the US influence, making Bibi pay more attention to Washington’s demands, than of the Israeli people’s needs.
Trying to keep a community of Jews happy is very tricky business.
Ironic.
From the Hamas side they are quite happy with how the ceasefire has gone. They have not wasted any time, recruiting, moving troops where they need to go, and organizing for a continuation of the conflict. I am being told that they feel like they are back to full strength.
Word is also coming out that meeting with some of the released Israelis and their families is a priority for Trump. Many of the released and their families refused to meet with Bibi.
Things are not all roses for the occupation. Very little unity and a lot of infighting.

That’s what it looks like to me.
They stuck to their guns before, and “someone” forced Bibi to adhere to phase 1.
A deal’s a deal.
Does Trump really want to renege on a deal this early in the game?
But Hamas has to put out very clear information, concise statements—maybe even taunting Trump-Bibi a little bit?
Like, Trump can’t control Bibi to make him stick to Trump’s deal?
It is really weird, from where I sit, that in the USA there is this obsession in the Epstein Sache to find out who did what to whom—while simultaneously the story of torture and sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners doesn’t even make it over the radar.
Adding to the weirdness is that as far as I can see it has yet to dawn on the American public that the most important question in the Epstein case is: Who was doing the blackmailing? Since there is a very good chance that the Epstein scandal involves MOSSAD, it would seem that Israel is being protected on two fronts of sexual misbehavior and depravity.
Anyhow, it looks to me as though Israel/Bibi do have the potential to become an Achilles Heel for Trump.

It appears everything regarding Epstein, as before, is a roll out for distraction, gossip and misdirection. No “actionable” information, no one will be prosecuted or go to jail, most think Epstein never did die but was whisked off to his island (some footage from a drone appeared after said death of him at island… so it was said). Just opinions. Point is, it’s been decades since any war criminals, bank thieves, high profile embezzlers or anyone of any import actually was imprisoned.
Like JFK, UFOs, ect… bread and circuses.
In regards to BiBi being Achilles heel, I was thinking more in terms should Trump actually decide to join BiBi in an attack on Iran. Like Zelensky, I’m not seeing BiBi remaining in the picture too much longer. It’s bad business, and Trump doesn’t like that. Neither do other investors Trump has lined up for Lebanon & USReal. BiBi may end up with a serious health issue soon if he doesn’t get on board and straighten out. Mossad won’t blink twice about taking out their own with an order. And he’s pissed off a bunch of them lately.

@60 Jane
“Could it be that some in the MSM are tired of being told what to write by the Israel Lobby?”
Not likely.
At a guess it is to turn plight of Palestinians in Gaza into a political talking point. In other words, US must do something, wrestles control of Egyptian border from “Israel” and provides relief (and exit) from that quarter as “Israel” takes over the rest of Gaza. Good cop bad cop, US saves the Palestinians from the fate brought onto them by Hamas. Etc.
Also it distracts from the reality of just having massacred so many over the previous year. Now it is “just” a question of organising relief for civilians, walk away with a good conscience and so on. For civilians, food, shelter, a way out of the destruction. For Hamas, lots and lots of bombs.
That sort of thing though, is for domestic audience, as those outside would understand the above for what it actually is without having to consider for a moment. Even if they had to go along with it.

However, in a vociferous meeting that took place yesterday among Netanyaho, Shen Bet and an Israeli army representative, Netanyahoo’s euphoria was punctured. Mahmood OD reports today in his podcast titled ‘New Clash Between Netanyahu & Security Establishment Over American Lies,’ that Netanyahu was heard to swear and abuse his fellow officials. The Shin Bet official had told Netanyahu in so many words that, “We have to continue with the ceasefire agreement, we can go back to war later, but let’s get the people (hostages) back.” Then the senior figure in the military establishment attending the meeting told Netanyahu, “the Americans are deceiving us, telling Egyptian and Qatari mediators that they (Americans) are going to apply pressure for Israel to go ahead with the ceasefire, while they tell us we can do whatever we want.”

I don’t have time to read all the comments on this thread but just to inject a bit of realism here. Both the populace and leadership in the West generally do not care about the plight of the Palestinians–they will support genocide with very little tug on their consciences. Why? Because morality is almost absent from Western society because every issue seems to be framed in a comic book style.
I was brought up in the Western humanist tradition and it is, to be blunt, dead or dying everywhere. It may be replaced by something else but for now morality is “might makes right” and in the Israeli case they have been the vanguard for this empty morality for decades. But for the Muslim countries around the world the indiference to Palestine is surprising but I think the moral nihilism of the West has infected them as well. So, in a way, it’s pointless for us to be think anything other than genocide and ethnic cleansing is ahead. Outside the West and the Islamic world there is also no interest because they are all concerned with their own societies. The future is with Greater Israel in that region–I see no way to stop it.

Those who do not (cannot) understand the Arab “leaders” (most of whom were handpicked by the West) have little understanding of Islam.
While not Arab, Iran is everything that a proper Islamic nation should seek to be. Revolutionary, unyielding, and creative.
It should surprise no one that the West has been trying to overthrow the Iranian leadership for decades. The only true threat to Zionism in the region.

Looks like the EU big wigs – and the US might have a hard time, putting their Romanian puppet in office.
“The illegitimate government of Romania must resign and the second round of the elections resume
We are Romania and Călin Georgescu is our president!”
The media is not covering what is happening in Romania that’s why I am asking everyone to share further”

On the other hand, Netanyahu is starting to sound a lot like Zelensky.
(I didn’t watch the link, so apologies if this doesn’t sound accurate.)

I know you’re fond of Bibi. He’s not like Zelensky.
Bibi’s a genocidal tyrant who has led to countless civilian deaths all over West Asia.
A front runner for worst human being alive.

These are the signs of a collapsing empire …

From the speech of Yarden Bibas that was just read before the Knesset:

“Mr. Prime Minister, 514 days and nights have passed, and you and your government have still not taken responsibility. The demand to establish a state commission of inquiry is a demand that unites the people of Israel—83% of Israeli citizens demand it, along with 1,500 families from the October 7 Victims’ Families Forum, including myself. Its purpose is not a personal vendetta but to draw lessons to prevent the next disaster.”

If they ignore the treachery and betrayal of October 7th (LIHOP/MIHOP), which the majority of Israelis and their supporters
most certainly will, they make a repeat of betrayal that much more likely.
If Netanyahu and his co-conspirators believed that there would be an honest assessment of what took place
on October 7th, an honest assessment both in Israel and the US (and Britain), they would have done things differently.
American citizens, and Brits, are thus more likely to be betrayed by the likes of Netanyahu, as the ‘Netanyahus’ know that
the US and British politicians (and mockingbird press) will protect what matters most to them, their own power.

You are correct that the Arab (Islamic – Sunni) nations around the Levant are impotent and indifferent.
However you are not correct that Greater Israel will prevail.
The reason it will not prevail is that Greater Israel is not a self-sustaining, life-propagating construct, it is a cancer – both to itself and to those who are tied to it.
Yes, it has demonstrated great facility in destroying the weak.
But it has demonstrated a poor ability to prevail against even modest resistance (without tremendous support from the West).
Back to the analogy of “cancer”:
A cancer destroys everything it touches, even as it destroys and consumes itself.
It will destroy and consume even those “indifferent” Arab regimes around it.
It has no other choice but to destroy whatever it touches because all other entities represent the potential of a threat.
For Israel, even the potential for threat is as real as the threat itself.
And therefore israel is doomed to be eternally at war with whoever touches the edges of its infection.
This will draw it into an ever-widening maelstrom of violence until israel itself is consumed and destroyed.
They will draw the entire West into that same Maelstrom.
They’re on a one-way road to hell in a fast car – with no reverse gear.
… and so is the entire West.

UN and other organizations are describing the deadly consequences of Israel’s cutting of aid to Gaza, but noone is cutting support to Israel, or doing anything to stop the Zionist’s criminal behaviour defying all human and divine norms.
It’s the same attitude we’ve endured for 16 months – condemnations and inaction, while US/Israel are destroying the Palestinians, Gaza and the WB by every means at their disposal and all at the same time.
Everyone is complicit in this crime of crimes!
Netanyahu: It is time to give Gaza residents the freedom to leave the Gaza Strip and choose their fate
