RUAF have infiltrated behind the Ukie defense line across the Sumy border, west of Sudzha. They have a real potential of cutting the Sumy-Sudzha road, or at least severely disrupting. Two rivers are protecting RUAF move.
Most likely the AFU with Zelensky’s diktats to maintain Sudzha, are overstretched and weak. We shall see how the AFU responds in coming days to the threat from behind.

James M@297…..dear lord man, talk about a hail Mary pass, the Bulshitviks? Was there a “Declaration of War” passed in the US Congress, we are at war with Russia? What was the name of that war?
It doesn’t surprise that the Brits would use US mercenaries…..check out the SMO sometime.
And I see Kursk, which has destroyed so many eviction predictions, is slowly, very slowly, drawing to a close…..but if it’s still on the table when Don and Vlad pop the champagne…..the Art of the Steal?

About Kursk region from Al Manar

Russian troops have crossed the border with Ukraine in the Kursk Region, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
“The latest information that I received literally an hour ago: fighters of the 810th Brigade crossed the border of the Russian Federation and Ukraine and entered the enemy’s territory over the night,” Putin said, responding to reporters’ questions as he visited a drone manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg.
Russian troops continue to advance along the entire line of engagement, Putin said.
“Our forces are advancing along the entire line of contact,” the head of state pointed out.

Dear lord, leprechaun, you’re flailing! Of the literally hundreds of invasions the USA has undertaken in its history, how many were as a result of a formal declaration of war?

@301
I really hope this is true. In terms of PR value for RU, and further damage to Ukie morale, it could be significant. At this point in the war, that is.
I’d like to see RU retake that village near Pokrovsk, called Pischane. UKR’s been squeezing maximum propaganda value from having captured the place (from RU). A quick, efficient counterattack by RU against Pischane, coupled with a meaningful win in Kursk/Sumy, just possibly could be felt throughout UKR, among military and civilians.
Maybe I’m getting carried away, imaginative perhaps. But a 1917 or 1918 Eastern Front situation’s got to occur in UKR sooner or later. All criticisms and counterarguments are encouraged.

Was there a “Declaration of War” passed in the US Congress, we are at war with Russia? What was the name of that war?

I don’t recall any “declaration of war” by the US in the Korean war, Vietnam war, Persian Gulf war, war in Iraq, war in Afghanistan, or even the American Civil War, or the Quasi-War. Are the soldiers that fought and died in those still dead? Maybe we should tell them, that since there was no “declaration of war” they weren’t really killed. They can magically spring to life like Lazarus.
My point being you don’t need a “declaration of war” for a war to occur. The US has only “declared war” five times in its history, but deployed its military far more than that. Oh, and the name of the war, by historians, is the Russian Revolution.
Americans invaded Russia and killed Russians, and Russians killed Americans. Ask Putin how he feels about that. I’m sure he knows the history of that war very well. And I’m pretty sure he, and other Russians, will refer to it as a war.

.but if it’s still on the table when Don and Vlad pop the champagne.

Do you really think Putin is going to give a flip what Trump says? All he wants is for the US to stop supporting Ukraine, which is already a done deal. The RuAF will take care of the rest. Most of these “negotiations” are just theater, something Trump can brag to the media about, but won’t amount to anything.

Agreed.
Putin (and Xi) have no reason to believe that America has overnight become agreement capable.
The foundational instability of the American political system remains as it was 20 years ago.
It is good that they are talking if for no reason than that Trump is creating a lot of panic in the West among Russia’s opponents.

malenkov@304…..when is a war, not a war, when the Russians say it’s not a war, it’s an SMO…..a small, minor military foot note, during a Revolution, is not a war,a skirmish where the Russians killed 100 US citizen…..during the Great Russian US war……really?. As I said there has never been a formal war between Russia and the USA. But it does further the faerie tale that the US and Russians want to fight a war. Who’d favour telling that faerie tale?
The only people in the US imagining a war with Russia are the EU Nazi offspring that have taken control of US foreign policy, Canada’s foreign policy, Britain’s foreign policy, Germany’s foreign policy, France’s foreign policy, Latvia’s foreign policy….you guys will get it one day……

Interesting turn of events, Dima was saying that back in Nov Zman’s security detail was changed. The French and Brits took over the job. Then Biden signed over the Ukie rare earth metals and resources to the EU. So Trump has no traction with 404 rare earth metals, they belong to the EU now. Pure irony.
Trump and Zielinski, two actors duking it out…..put em in the squared circle.

.a small, minor military foot note, during a Revolution, is not a war,a skirmish where the Russians killed 100 US citizen.

My goodness, you must have gone to the Roger Boyd School of Reasoning and Argumentation. Devoid of logic or facts, but strong on fallacies. A war is defined as: “Sustained combat, involving organized armed forces, resulting in a minimum of 1,000 battle-related deaths over a 12-month period.” (Small, Melvin and J. David Singer. Resort to Arms: International and Civil War, 1816–1980. 1982, Sage) Whether, it is a “declared” war is immaterial.
As far as has been determined, the North Russia intervention, the “minor footnote,” resulted in over 3,000 combined battle-related deaths over a 12-month period. Yes, it was an intervention in a larger war, but it made the US a participant in the Russian Revolution, a civil war with international dimensions. Thus, the US fought directly against the de facto rulers of Russia, the Bolsheviks. How is that not a war?
Yes, you can say the US has never fought a “declared” war against Russia. But by that metric, the US has never fought a “declared” war against Iraq, Vietnam, or Korea. War is an action, a policy tool of the state, or non-state actors, to further their own interests. If you are courtesy and nice, you can of course declare your intentions beforehand, but seldom do states do this. And it is not a necessary condition for a state of war to exist.

“Canada and our allies are unequivocal on standing up against Vladimir Putin’s illegal, immoral, unjust violations of the international order,’ Trump told Wednesday in Montreal.
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress said in a statement that it’s ‘crystal clear the US is no longer a reliable ally’ to Canada and Europe and urged both to do more to arm Ukraine…”
Between the Ukro-nazi and Zio-nazi lobbies – obtuse nazi-clapping Canadian politicians preparing for an imminent election – and the studied indifference of the Canadian public to ‘international affairs’ except for their growing palpable rage at Trump’s ’51st state’/tariff attack – it will take Canucklheads some time to appreciate, let alone contest, the implications of this outgoing spent Liberal chicken-hawk Trudeau’s tough talk of fighting Russia without America/NATO.

The AFU was already kicked out of Pischane and RUAF destroyed the bridge between Pischane and Pokrovsk the AFU used for their attack on the village. It’s doubtful they will be able to attack it again easily. Obviously, Pokrovsk being a defense anchor point of AFU, it was to be expected there would eventually be an attack coming out of there, and it happened.
Now RUAF can continue focusing on the isolation of Pokrovsk and bottling the AFU inside it, while moving west in other areas further south around Novosilka and Andryivka.

The saddest thing to come of all this is that Ukraine has Russia on the ropes. Everyday a Russian refinery is being hit miles inside Russia. Everyday Russia loses a thousand men in meat wave attacks. Russia can longer launch a real offensive of any meaningful effect.
Trump is basically trying to save Putin’s ass but technically it’s too late. The wartime economy Russia has started cannot replenish the thousands of soviet era armor Russia has lost in this war. They are down to the last remnants of soviet armor and are now relying dirt bikes and donkeys… yes, mules.
We already have a huge part of the arctic and its a bitch to get resources out of it. Basically a bullshit offering.

Russia is slowly losing a generation of its special operations forces Spetsnaz that have served long terms in Syria and Georgia.
These former Brigades of Russias best soldiers are being chewed up slowly by Ukrainian forces.

The destruction, sale of Ukraine and seemingly incoming partitioning reminds me a bit of the last moments of the ole Yugoslavia, only the global reception is reversed. All that’s going to remain of Ukraine is a rump balkan-like state in which nobody sane will want to live in. Not that pre-war Ukraine was prosperous or anything, but still.
While your average Ukrainians political apathy(extremely typical of east euros) has undoubtedly helped lead to some of these events, most Ukrainians were simply blissfully unaware of the possible consequences and ramifications of the euromaidan. I know that we’re all by default anti-empire and its useful idiots, but Ukrainians were deceived, and they don’t deserve this. Yet another east euro country bites the dust, a region so close to the imperial core, yet so far.

“Appeasement,” in the pejorative sense that it’s usually used nowadays, is the naive act of making incremental concessions to people who want to kill you in the hopes that they’ll be placated and stop progressing their plan to kill you.
Russia has done a lot of it since 1991.⬇️
Fall of communism; NATO reorients against Russia to “finish the job”
– Make repeated overtures towards the alliance
Get endlessly attacked in the West as an authoritarian hellhole
– Get token seats in European institutions
– Enthusiastically participate and get no credit for it
Western interests support Chechen terror in Russia
– Do nothing against their many Western backers
Western intelligence subverts every ex-WARPACT government
– Do nothing to prevent or combat this
– Try to build gas pipelines around the crazies
Western governments falsely blame Russia for their policy failures
– Continue subsidizing their economies with cheap resources
Western governments ban all Russian media
– Continue allowing Western media to operate
Subverted ex-WARPACT governments all join NATO
– Complain about NATO violating some Cold War guarantees
Baltic States (part of Russia for centuries) join NATO
– Complain about it
Baltic States start venerating a bunch of Nazi collaborators
– Do nothing
Baltic States start systematically oppressing local Russians
– Subsidize their economies with cheap electricity
Subverted Georgian government builds an army to kill local Russians
– Do nothing
Subverted Georgian government tries to kill the local Russians
– Thrash them
– Don’t overthrow Saakashvili because the Europeans ask you nicely
– Get sanctioned anyways
NATO astroturfs a revolution in Ukraine, anti-Russian crazies take power
– Seize Crimea because it’s ultra strategic and 90% Russian
– Grudgingly give the LDPR some support so they won’t get butchered
– Broker a peace deal that would see Ukraine get the LDPR back
– Get sanctioned anyways
Ukraine starts preparing for all-out war with NATO backing
– They’re just being edgy, they’ll implement Minsk eventually!
– Great time to cut the military budget!
– Arms control talks too, those are awesome
Ukraine actually tries to kill the local Russians
– Let’s call it a “Special Military Operation”
– Don’t send in the conscripts, it’ll look bad
– Hey look a peace deal, we’ll withdraw our troops from Kiev
– Did… NATO just give them half the Polish Army?
– How much of the US Army’s ammo did they just get?
– They’re conscripting, uh, everyone with hands?
– Those swastikas must be an edgy larp
– Negotiations must be possible here
– Surely we can settle this like adults
Spongebob narrator: THREE YEARS LATER
– Still up for negotiations! This is a good idea!

Shutting off Starlink used by Ukrainian forces including Neo-Nazi units to kill Russians is one of the easiest steps the US could take to prove their intentions to end their OWN proxy war on Russia.
Instead, Musk has not only allowed Ukraine to continue using his network, he’s passionately denying it’s being used as leverage amid negotiations (to steal Ukraine’s minerals to pay for the proxy war the US itself engineered).
The Trump administration has called Zelensky a “dictator” yet continue facilitating the proxy war he is in the middle of fighting.
US weapons continue flowing to Ukraine, albeit quietly, and more US weapons will be sent via Europe.
The US isn’t even hiding the big rusty bear trap they want Russia to step into, Minsk 3.0.

Russia has nothing to offer the US, except for moving away from China & Iran and putting itself under Western financial control again, I don’t see any of this happening.
If peace is still done, it means they’re really desperate, and need a break. The US domestically is doing bad
