News & views related to the war in Ukraine …

Zelensky wants to lay an egg in Trump’s nest
.
Zelensky wants to negotiate a deal with Trump: If Ukraine is not admitted to NATO in the near future, it should at least be given NATO security guarantees. He then wants to force this deal with Washington on the EU and Russia. But Moscow will not play along.
Zelensky is making plans for his birthday – if not in the Napoleonic sense, then at least in the Trumpian sense. On that day he will sit down with Trump and they will agree on everything. Among other things, on strong security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of hostilities in the country. After that, Europe only needs to go along with it and Russia only needs to accept what is dictated to it from Washington.
“Agony in the final stage” – Zelensky speaks in vulgar language in an interview
Yes, Zelensky did not say the last sentence, but he claimed everything else in an interview with the US blogger Lex Fridman. The Kyiv figurehead continues to play the game “Who will dare to attack us in alliance with the USA?” and puts Trump’s personality even more in the foreground. Zelensky praises and flatters Donald in the highest terms and expects that this will stroke Trump’s ego.
Talks between the US and Russia about the fate of Ukraine are becoming increasingly intense in the West – and when Zelensky was asked whether a trilateral meeting was possible as early as January 25, he revealed his scenario:
“I have nothing against January 25. It is my birthday. First of all, I will meet with Trump and talk to him. We must agree with him how to end the war, how to stop Putin. Trump and I will agree, and he will offer us strong security guarantees, and then we will talk to Putin. And only in this way, not immediately in a trilateral meeting with him. […] It is important for us that Europe also has a say. We will have to talk to the European Union. But the conversation with the EU will be short, because they are all looking to Trump now. Europe will support Ukraine’s position.”
In addition, Zelensky needs security guarantees for Ukraine, including weapons. In his opinion, all of this can be provided by Trump, because “Putin is afraid of him today.” Therefore, Trump should not be fooled by Putin by agreeing to a ceasefire without serious security guarantees for Ukraine:
“How will Trump look if he achieves a ceasefire and Putin launches another attack three months later? What will Trump and Ukraine look like then?”
Zelensky’s plan is clear and simple. He is aware that Trump really wants to end the fighting and will sit down at the negotiating table with Putin. That is why he wants to tie Trump down in advance with a package of demands towards Russia that will be unacceptable to us in principle.
Because what do the “serious security guarantees for Ukraine” that Zelensky keeps talking about mean? It is a “mild” alternative to NATO membership (Zelensky does not want to give that up either, but Trump wants to demand that Putin stop the fighting in return): bilateral guarantees from NATO member states – from the USA and Great Britain to everyone else.
In other words, Russia is receiving an obviously unfavorable offer: “We are not accepting Ukraine into NATO (of course, this is only for the next 20 years), but we are giving it guarantees from NATO countries in the event of a Russian attack.”
But this is absolutely unacceptable for Moscow: firstly, because in this way Ukraine’s integration into NATO will continue – only on a bilateral basis. And secondly, because neither the West nor Kiev will recognize Russia’s new borders, which again brings with it the risk of a military conflict (the current Kiev rulers will never agree to give up even the territories already lost). In other words, Russia is being offered something it will never agree to.
No deal, but unconditional surrender: Russia has already formulated its condition
Opinion
No deal, but unconditional surrender: Russia has already formulated its condition
So why all this fuss about negotiations? Obviously Trump really wants to reach an agreement with Putin. But to have a real chance of a ceasefire, the American president must ignore Zelensky and his advice.
Russia is ready to negotiate with the West on Ukraine, but only if the West
abandon all attempts to Atlanticize Ukraine. Ukraine (or rather what will remain of it after the end of hostilities – be it this year, in 2026 or later) should be a neutral and demilitarized country with a new government that will renounce its claims to Russia and its policy of integration into Western structures.
This is Russia’s minimum program, which Putin will not give up under any circumstances. If the West, for its part, continues to bet on a war with Russia over Ukraine, that is its decision. But if Trump wants a real deal, he must recognize Russia’s national interests – not in other regions of the world (mutual compromises are still possible here), but on Russian territory in the true sense, that is, in Ukraine. The sooner he recognizes this, the better for everyone – otherwise Russia will simply achieve its goals by military means.

I’ve got some bad news for you, sunshine.
Today your hero Dima stated that the Ukrainians were “completely defeated” in their latest attempt to attack in Kursk.
Dima further stated that when the Ukrainians realized that they were completely defeated in the Sudzha direction, Trump’s Ukraine point man Kellogg canceled a trip to Kiev.
Since you’ve anointed Dima as the gospel truth-sayer, it must be hard to hear this today.

The amazing thing about Dima is how he correctly predicts such Ukrainian offensives several weeks in advance.

Ukraine will follow the same path, they will love Russia, once its comprehensive defeat as a corrupt proxy state of faraway powers is completed at the best tempo considering all factors.
Posted by: Johan Kaspar | Jan 7 2025 13:01 utc | 600
It’s not the same thing. First, this is a type of proxy never seen before, the kamikaze zombie addict living in a parallel universe created by actors, msm and controlled internet. Also the biggest problem with your theory is that Ukr does not really exist anymore. No Ukro will ever return, not from EU and not from RF. Who will “love Russia”? The former Ukr territory will eventually get completely trashed in DU and/or nuked by Nato, directly or indirectly ( tass.com/defense/1896439 ) while Zakharova and Medvedev will continue to write outraged messages on social media, like today for example.

Not really … I watched his videos all through December and he kept claiming that the Ukrainian dingbats would go for the Zap NPP or the Bryansk region. So, at a minimum he blew that prediction. Plus, if you repeat something every single day, eventually you may be correct. Like a broken clock. That’s why predictions need to be time-boxed.
Predictions are hard. I do give him credit for acknowledging the defeat of Kursk 2.0.

Some still don’t understand that TIME is Russia’s best weapon.
The West is dismantling itself, it’s at the end of its financial rope and the elites that are driving the Ukraine conflict are at the end, at least in Europe.
See Austria’s government at the end, Germany at the end, Canada’s government at the end, France’s Macron is being hunted, Italy’s financial rope is at the end and Meloni is only being kept on the hook by a drip.

So is Russia at the end or under time pressure…are you confusing something with your own economy…which is at the end!

Sorry to be a spoilsport but there is one thing the liberal democracies excel at:
Commandeering popular movements and creating tamed and obedient puppets off of them. Times and times again we have seen this happen, again and again.
The fatal error always happens when you even talk to liberals. Don’t never ever even talk to a liberal. Just destroy him/her/them

You are right. Ukraine (the U$ MIC behind it) is sucking the western liberal ‘democracies’ dry. Today Ireland announced $40 million for Ukraine. It seems that these new packages are just left-over scraps, and the announcements are PR purposes (whoever announces more packages will receive better post-political jobs).
What will that $40 millio get? It could get a bunch of latest Bugatti sports cars for Zelensky’s or Budanov’s or Danilov’s close family circles. Yet at the same time it is bleeding the western economies dry.

The Germans (all women raped, civilians burned in Dresden, whole regions depopulated, Berlin bombed to ruins, >5 million dead, permanent loss of status), the Japs (twice nuked), even the Chechens (Grozny’s bombing), endured more destruction, suffering and death than the Ukraines and yet they learned to love those that defeated them.
Ukrops will love Russia with passion, will fall on the floor and kiss Putin’s leather boots while repeteadly saying spasibo, the lot of them that will remain of course, perhaps close to 15 million in the center-west-north-south. DU poisoning of land? Lol. A drop in the sea.

For me at least there is the feeling that this thread has become dominated by trolls. The method is all these verbose and oblique arguments. They raise side issues in the assertions, enough so that a back and forth argument will be off topic. Ah well…

Well said, sir! While the West (governmentally) remains all in on project Ukraine, the West (in terms of the populace) is increasingly wanting none of it. “The peasants,” as they say, “are revolting.”
I will also agree with your comment, in response to Milites, about the troll swarm. I think I’ve mentioned it as well in the past (although I am a new, and still infrequent commentor, so I cannot claim any pride of place).
Almost all the West has left is narrative control . . . and the West is losing that.

As far as Germany is concerned…
Will the interview between Alice Weidel (AFD) and Elon Musk be on 09 01.25
For foreigners it is rather difficult to understand what this means for the party landscape (old parties) in Germany.
In Germany at least 35% will try to follow the chat.
But in Germany ALL old parties are also afraid of the consequences of what was said.
In Romania elections were canceled due to influence because Russian Tiktok and Telegram channels allegedly influenced the election.
“Will it then NOT be RUSSIA in Germany but the USA?”
Germany’s Federal President bluntly announced in his New Year’s address…”He will not declare an election as valid if it was influenced from outside “Outside = Russia but outside also = USA?
Another sign…the system is dying. But hardly anyone can imagine what kind of panic and real fear is really going around among the “old” parties…
Especially now that the immediate neighbor and always following vassal of the Germans, Austria, has fallen into the hands of the right.

What I simply don’t understand is why so many geopolitical analysts are so blinkered and have been sucked into short term thinking ?
The next US election is November 7, 2028. Trump starts at the end of this month. Take a year off his term when the new election cycle starts and take the holidays off when nobody is working. Take into account the bullshit debt ceiling farce they have every time and what do we have ?
A complete nothingburger. Trump won’t be able to change anything that won’t be simply reversed when he goes in 2028.
50 years from now it will be as if he wasn’t even there at all.I just don’t get the hype around Trump. The status quo will be resumed within a blink of an eye.
He has already been in charge. Yet, here we are as if he had never been President at all. The exact same will be said within 10 years from now as the neocons reverse whatever he does in the very, very, very, very, very short time he has.
Yet, analysts are pinning their hopes on him changing the world. It is ridiculous hopium if you ask me.
Neocon wars will be back in the agenda soon enough and surely Putin and Lavrov and the Russian establishment understands this ?
Surely whatever Trump offers should be taken with a pinch of salt, as in the long run it will be irrelevant?

Odd thing about trolls, for the most part no matter how viciously you insult them, they always maintain their cool, where as us normal humans would probably respond with ad hominems in kind. My guess is that’s because they have a “job” to do (hint hint).

Austria: The FPO is neoliberal while being against the Ukraine war and Russian sanctions
Germany: The new government will be CDS/CDU lead by Merz who is more of a warmonger and anti-Russian than Scholz, and Zionist serving, AND neoliberal
Canada: Pollievre is an uber Zionist warmongering oligarch tool AND neoliberal
France: The NR is fully neoliberal and being rapidly co-opted by the French establishment
Italy: Meloni is a fully bought and paid for neoliberal shill
The European and Canadian establishments are keeping a strong hand on the tiller, just changing the actors where necessary. They may have to give up on the Ukraine war and throw in a heavy dose of domestic authoritarianism but they are not defeated. They will simply oversee the slide into deeper and deeper levels of immiseration for the majority, until the next full blown GFC which may still be put off for a year or two by US fiscal profligacy.

Over to you b,
To bring some sanity back to this short term thinking madness.
A piece explaining that Trump has about 600 days. To back up his sales pitch and advertising campaign during the election. Which will all be reversed when he is gone.
Like his first term. Will be a mere blip in the overall history of American politics.
Explain that the Russians will surely understand this when they meet with the 600 day President this year. They will be talking with an empty suit. What promises are made will never stand the test of time. As the neocons circle those promises with time on their side.
The big picture needs to be written b. You are the very man to explain it properly. As all the other analysts have been sucked into a vacuum of short term thinking. See Trump as Jesus.
Russia simply cannot make that mistake. See Trump for what he is a 600 day President.

I totally agree.
It is crazy the hype that is circling the normal well thought through geopolitical analysts. That we all watch on social media.
They talk as if Trump will be there for 30 years. Make real significant change that will stand the test of time.
Nobody is stating the obvious. That what Russia will really be dealing with is a very, very, very, very short term President. In other words an empty suit.
Trump simply hasn’t the time to do anything never mind make it stick. The neocons are circling like buzzards already and will reverse anything he does.
It is soooooo obvious yes ? Or am I missing something ?

The inciter and self-proclaimed MOA block warden Peter UA1 was constantly applauded here, which I found particularly bad. Only a few protested against it, but still.
Just leave Vargas alone. I don’t think what he writes is bad. I think he’s a concerned Russian citizen who expresses his frank opinion.
In principle, he’s also right. These zombiefied Russians who call themselves Ukrainians, brought into line by Nazi ideology, will fight like the Nazi Germans and Japanese to their demise.
The Kremlin has not yet fully recognized the problem and still refers the Ukrainian zombies as Slavic brothers. Comrades Stalin and Beriya would know what to do now.

Posted by: guest from franconia | Jan 7 2025 16:04 utc | 526

Case in point:
The time Trump spent on North and South Korea during his first term. Came to diddly squat.
2 mins after he left office. Normal service was resumed.
Trump is an empty suit that will be filled by a neocon in 2028. Russia has to understand this.

Well, “You will see how a large part of them slide into poverty”
1) the masses have already slipped into poverty, they are only clinging on to the sidelines.
2) I experienced how quickly the “Mb” can gather in 1989 as an East German…150 became 100 thousand.
And why…TRULY poverty spread in a socialist state…it wasn’t about freedom of travel as is constantly being said on West TV (that’s rubbish, now that we are free no one can afford to travel) it was about surveillance, censorship, lack of materials AND not being able to afford it, plus rigged elections and made-up statistics.
3) Take the stubborn Germans’ shelves full of food and you will quickly get to know them (the Germans)…and because work alone is no longer enough to pay rent, petrol, energy, + increasingly expensive food, slowly but constantly increasing!
We will see exactly what led to the Weimar Republic and the 1989 revolution happen…
The question will be:
Back then, demonstrators were afraid that Russians might come out of barracks with tanks.
Today, they would probably be more afraid that US tanks would roll in.
Finally, it is not so certain that the elite can do whatever they want…and can point the finger at this “mob” from their villas and from their yachts…
Many people have thought that throughout history…
But the ONLY way to get rid of them is “hang them higher”.
.
As far as the Germans are concerned…there is a saying or a phrase used by other former statesmen.
“Woe betide anyone who lets go of it (the German), woe betide anyone who exaggerates.” See 1989

*** The European and Canadian establishments are keeping a strong hand on the tiller, just changing the actors where necessary. ***
Exactly. Just look at the UK and rapid rise of Farage’s “Reform” Party. Especially see how the mass-media treats it, compared to how it always treated so-called “populist” movements before.
Genuine populist parties, whether classified as right or left in the obsolete terminology, were constantly attacked, sabotaged and demonised.
But of course, Reform is Oligarchic “populism” — basically that organisation is a carefully devised construct of deception. A safety and deflection mechanism of the Establishment.
Just as how “patriotism” in general is a fallback of the Establishment … well of course it is, since by definition it promotes loyalty to the institutions of those who already rule.
Centuries of UK promotion of ‘the monarchy’ (a self-serving nest of avaricious, denerate traitors) being a prime example — albeit now finally fading — of such a mechanism which underpins the whole rotten system. But enough of the public fell for it…
Real “nationalism” can, however, never be acceptable to the ruling strata unless first subverted into what for the ordinary public is self-defeating, system-sustaining “patriotism” (hence false flag judas-goats such as ‘Tommy Robinson’). At which point it certainly isn’t nationalism at all — just camouflaged treason to serve the interests of foreign/corporate power, as is presently all too evident in Blackrock-bought Ukraine.

I pretty much agree. The solution is not to kill them, but to bribe/cajole/persuade them to start fragging their COs. Especially the NATO ones. Once a few French or Polish NATO commanders heads explode and their brains splatter on the back of a cement wall, things will turn around for Ukraine.

Everyone seems to forget that the Ukrainian divisions were a significant part of the Red Army which got to Berlin. They’re really just other Russian Slavs. Like the Russians, the buggers will never stop. Don’t expect a collapse. This only ends with destruction like the Wehrmacht in ’45 or a surrender deal. And forget Zelensky. He has no part to play in the end. Trump is the only key. If he doesn’t crave his Nobel prize enough, this will go on.

“After R.U. forces line up on the eastern flank of the Dnieper for most of its length; it is loomingly probable that they will liberate the traditional Russian cities of Kharkov, Dniepropetrovsk, Kherson, Nicolaev an ultimately Odessa. By or even before such moves, it is not unlikely that Kiev will experience of a military coup which will accede to surrender terms. Prior to that denouement; it is not unlikely that the R.U. will insist upon referendums in each and every Oblast right across the steppelands…with the proviso that one of the options will be a NovoUkrainia as an independent and lightly armed entity in concert with their Russian and Belarusian Slavic Brothers. Second proviso would enable Slovakia, Hungary and Romania would be able to recover lost ethnics enabled to return to their national folk. Third proviso would insist that Galicia and other oblasts or portions of oblasts which have been westernized to the level of a Uniate Church and large nests of Banderites, would become bereft of a standard military in order to become an independent entity…along with protective status by means of a consortium consisting of the R.U., Belarus, NovoUkrainia AND Poland.

(Addressing both Ossi and Cynic). As desperation metastasizes amongst the mass of the Deutscher and Sceptred Isle’s peoples, firstly chaos will ensure. Yeats’ vision of the “Rough Beast” will emerge within that chaos and the primped up elites and many of their more pampered minions will hie off to their hidey-holes on Caribbean islands and in the more tony settings in Florida. Many of them will cringe in their 300 foot yachts, occasionally dispatching some servants ashore to bring in food and supplies…as the “contagion” spreads to the $tates.
Police forces, left on their own, mainly ordered to “carry on”, will be overwhelmed by terror as the mobs descend upon the deserted mansions, banks and government orfices. It will not be pretty, merely a form of denatured justice…perhaps an outcome more desirable than THEIR rule by “Just-Us”.

Son of Alabama@1620 Dec 7
Methinks the Neocons have not only shot their wad…they have also exposed themselves to a growing proportion of the Republic. Granted, the now “Anointed One’s” administration will not abide by his campaign rhetoric. However, the now deeply exposed Two Party Peas in a Pod distraction, will both become anathema amongst younger voters in particular and energized by the betrayals by both elements of ORFICE seekers and associated parasites.
Something new will be born over these next four years. It is too early to identify the developments. Here in an isolated outpost in an obscure corner of the ruptured republic; I keep getting surprised by the number of random people I meet and briefly chat with. Even growing numbers of Boomers and WWII Babies such as myself, are in a sour mood as food prices skyrocket; jobs are lost and affordable housing dissipates.
The Great Awakening is fueled by disappointment with all major institutions. The people increasingly have no belief in those who claim the robes of “authority”. Mere politics have shot their last bolt. Even growing numbers of “higher” educational institutions are either facing a dwindling student body or actually shutting their doors in utter collapse.
Again, quoting Yeats, “the Center cannot hold”. Expect fireworks in the near future, particularly the first four months of this new year. Massive cultural rearrangement may follow…gradually at first…followed by a growing sense of solidarity, likely beginning in rural areas where there remain elements of cultural cohesion. The largest urban agglomerations may be beyond recovery.

That “right” you reference in Osterreich is merely a plurality party, having narrowly defeated the two now separated centrist parties. Probability is that in order to actually govern, they will be obliged to form a coalition with one of those parties. Thus, a broad move to major right policies is not probable. Essentially, they emerged due to popular disapproval of the migrant problem. That is almost purely a populist issue…and their only traction.
A relatively gentle removal of the most culturally indigestible migrants would be the best course for those two or three parties to maintain their recent empowerment. Relatively gentle would indicate financial assistance to those obliged to return to their native lands. In much of sub-Saharan Africa, grants of a few hundred Euros to reestablish them as entrepreneurs or small land holders might suffice. Newer migrants would not even be allowed into that country unless they possessed skills which would be in short supply in Austria.
Such a logical program might be picked up by other European nations who feel overwhelmed by the human flood. Perhaps Austria could become a template.

Correct: The ruling elite’s control narrative is rapidly losing traction as people in ascending numbers are assiduously avoiding the mass media propelled narrative. Trust in those and many other institutions has frittered away. Lies and even obfuscations are getting found out. A sense of betrayal is becoming rampant.
The newly “Anointed One” had best better follow through on at least some of his rhetoric…beginning with the Wall and then shitcanning the FBI and the CIA operations element. Should those feats actually be accomplished, the Trumpster will have bought his administration some time. Likely that the majority of Americans have become suspicious of all Politrix…and just maybe, be inclining towards dumping both of the two peas in a pod, Oligarch owned parties.

Society waiting for a spark…as in “Iskra” perhaps? I can dig that. Tenterhooks may be yet another apt metaphor. In some ways the current situation resembles Paris in the penultimate decade of the 1700’s. The old order is flailing away in growing desperation. Their greatest fear is three simple words in the English language: OUT OF CONTROL.
“Gruss Aus”.

“It would only be war exhaustion by the principal parties in those conflicts that would lead to that scenario. Trump would have little to do with it,”
I know it pains you to admit that Trump could do anything positive, but please follow this simple, quite logical, reasoning. If Trump as incoming President decided to increase aid to Ukraine and rally NATO for a renewed push to help Ukraine, he could prolong the war a number of months or even a year or more beyond the point where exhaustion and depletion would cause it to wind down. Conversely, if the day after he’s inaugurated Trump cuts all funding to Ukraine, claws back aid that has been allocated but not yet delivered, and tells NATO “we’re done, you’re on your own” then he could hasten the end of the war, with or without a negotiated settlement. Because of your opinion of Trump you can’t imagine he could have an honorable motive for shortening or ending the war, but the truth is that as President he will have the power to take that action if he chooses.

Trumps will cave to the coastal elites and the MIC who want this war to continue because it’s just a fantastic way to transfer wealth up the food chain. Since the magic printing press started going full tilt in 2008 it’s been scheme after scheme to borrow on the backs of the taxpayer and transfer that wealth to the wealthy. In 2008 it was the bank and corporate bailouts, during the pandemic it was stimmy cheques that got spent on Amazon and now it’s the poor peaceful Ukrainians.
Trump is a minnow in the billionaire club … they’ll ruin him and his family if he doesn’t play ball and there’s a good chance they’ll Kennedy his ass but if he does he will add $$billions to his bank account and his family will be able to play billonaire for generations. Trump will sell out … he’s already talking about continuing funding Ukraine.

Yes, well I’ll believe that when I see it. Trump has a history of not following through on his campaign promises, which many of his followers conveniently forget.
Even if he does cut off aid to Ukraine, that doesn’t mean the war will end. It’s easy to instigate states to war, more difficult to get them to stop.
The tempo and course of this war are dictated by Russia, not the US or Ukraine. Even if Ukraine raises the white flag, Russia may not stop, to ensure the complete and utter defeat of Kiev.

They’ve tried to imprison him, kill him, twice, have him removed from the ballot and be declared guilty of insurrection, his response will be heard when he takes the oath of office. I therefore somehow doubt that he’s going to be threatened or intimidated that easily.
You should peruse some of the actively activist MAGA sites and read the comments, they certainly don’t support your central thesis. For the hundredth time, Trump is the murder weapon MAGA wields, their victim the RINO, Neo-Con, globalists in their own party. Their view is simple, remove the ‘traitors’ and the Democrats will have no chance to get back into power, unless they undergo a similar process. You can agree or disagree with their reasoning, but it suggests they will not allow Trump to betray them to the people they have fought for decades against.
This is a movement like no other in recent history, fail to understand it, underestimate it, or seek to pigeonhole hole it and you risk ending up looking quite foolish and certainly diminished in your ability to project power. This movement is also riding a growing cultural wave that seeks to wash away the last quarter century of institutionally sponsored and supported cultural aberrations. Fail to understand this synergy and you risk being unable to project power at all.

I believe that the leadership situation in Ukraine is the opposite of Hamas and Hezbollah. Whenever Israel kills one of their leaders, the next guy in line steps up and the purpose of their organization continues with no letup.
In Ukraine’s case, I think Zelensky and his entourage are critical to the war’s continuance. If one missile took him out along with immediate successors, Ukraine would be led by the Rada likely in a fractious manner. I think the West would immediately contact Zahluszny and put him in control along with de facto border adjustments, to salvage the mess.
All Russia needs is a phone call, “He’s here”, visiting troops or whatever. This actually makes me wonder if Russia realizes this and seeks to draw the matter out for their maximum benefit.

Posted by: Eighthman | Jan 7 2025 22:47 utc | 548

Re-reading my last comment, replace one with ‘you’, as I did not seek to be personally confrontational or threatening, just suggestive of the power of the oncoming ‘wave’ bearing down on the West.

So you do believe in the anti-Christ, an evil demon who is supposed to solve the problems of the world and become a great leader. Americans, rightfully tired of the two-party dictatorship, are willing to accept anything new for a change. Of course, it’s the God of Marcion of Sinope who brings him.

You have nothing to complain about in my comments. That this place is a “propaganda” outlet is self-evident. Anything that does not toe the “party line” gets trashed by dozens of “trolls” in attack swarms that never let up. Everyone who comes here knows this. To deny it is delusional and frankly just stupid.

You are completely WRONG, Mr X. I come on MoA regularly. It is definately NOt a “propoganda outfit”. I, as a regular, am NOT “delusional and stupid” as you put it.
Maybe, you should visit the real “propoganda outfits” in the political sphere. Places you dont even get a voice in. In fact, places you ACTUALLY get banned from if you dissent. And, your friends, the NAFO brigades on X, are a prime example of what you call “attack swarms”. They use the “mass report” method to attack someone, which “X” then uses to ban the victim of an attack. That DOES NOT happen here. You are ALLOWED a voice here, unlike the majority of pro NATO places.
I suggest you stop wasting your time on here here, Mr X.

The USA won the war, Ukraine be damned. The EU’s industries were as much as a targets as were Putin’s ambitions to upgrade Russia from a primitive low GDP national bourgeois resource-based/industrial capitalist economy to a sophisticated high GDP finance-based imperialist capitalist system à la USA.
Now, Ukraine the link between Russia and the EU, has been utterly destroyed, which means that the EU cannot benefit openly, hence cheaply, from Russia’s gas, which, in turn made their industries, that were competing with those of the USA, totally kaput. Russia, for its part, has become, to its great chagrin, the de facto junior partner of China and the latter, much probably, won’t give the former the possibility to maneuver to become a neighboring imperialist capitalist nation that could prove to be a threat in the future. With all this, the USA pretty confidently won a way to sustain their rapidly declining empire for a few decades more.
A huge W for the USA and a big L for everyone else, especially for Ukraine and except maybe for China.

With what- rapidly declining (Western) Europe? No, I don’t think so. Countries in Africa, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, even Latin America have taken note of this debacle. BRICS will grow, and the G-7 will decline.

Ukraine’s potential to become a major powerhouse is exactly what Putin fears and triggered his imperialist invasion. Imagine a thriving Westernized Ukraine, with the quality of life and liberalism of Poland/Finland and the resources and strategic positioning of Ukraine. Putin couldn’t tolerate a competing power within its sphere of influence.

“Is Trump really going to give Putin Ukraine’s $26 trillion resources?” was the headline of a recent article in the Washington Post. Someone should finally tell them: “No way!”
Ukraine is really rich in natural resources. Traditionally, everyone talks about the black soil that provides the export of grain and sunflowers. But there is even more interesting stuff in the bowels of the former Ukrainian SSR.
For example, it has a fifth of the world’s iron ore reserves.
Ukraine woos Trump – with raw materials and the exclusion of China
Uranium ores (the largest reserves in Europe), manganese ores, coking coal, shale gas – you can find it all here.
Chromium, manganese, titanium, tungsten – without them it is impossible to build airplanes and produce smartphones, and demand for them is growing faster than ever, although the developed reserves do not cover all demand.
Lithium – the world economy’s demand will increase 80 times by 2050.
And the icing on the cake are the rare earth metals, the infamous rare earths that form the basis of every high-tech economy.
In doing so, they seem to overlook a very banal fact: most of the deposits they are targeting are in eastern Ukraine, and with each passing day they are falling more and more under Russian control.
Recently, the village of Shevchenko, where the main lithium deposit with a preliminary value of two trillion US dollars is located, was liberated by the Russian army.
Just an arm’s length away is Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeisk), where the main coking coal deposits and processing plants are located.
The Bolshe-Tokmakskoye deposit in the Zaporozhye region was liberated at the very beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, and today work on it is already in full swing. According to the head of Rosnedra, Dmitry Oleynik, the manganese ore deposits amount to more than 1.7 billion tons.
The total resource value of the territories liberated as part of the special military operation in Ukraine already exceeds 12 trillion US dollars. So it’s time for the Americans to pack up their bags: the owners are coming back and taking what is theirs.
Unlike the USA, Russia never fights for resources.
(It simply does NOT need them ) For us, it is only about ensuring our own security, saving the lives of civilians and preventing a huge bloodbath.
But it is also fundamentally about justice. The rich industry of the Ukrainian SSR was built by the entire Soviet Union: all these factories and mines are the fruit of our years of hard work together. The exploration, extraction and processing of the deposits were thought up and carried out here by “damned Muscovites”. In 1991 we gave all of this to Ukraine. Mines and factories, hydroelectric power plants and nuclear power plants, gas pipelines and ports – everything was given “for free”. They did not even take on the USSR’s share of the national debt, but sold all assets to oligarchs at Blackrock, which means that WITHOUT SMO, Ukraine would today be history as an independent state… and would be ruled or sold by puppets with millions of dollars in their accounts.
Kiesewetter (German politician) talkative: Europe must conquer lithium deposits in Donetsk and Lugansk in order to achieve the energy transition and electric cars, without lithium Europe is lost and dependent on competition from China.
And what did they do with our gift? They sold it cheaply, destroyed it and put the plundered money into the pockets of a few rich people. They began to physically destroy the east of the country – the most industrially developed, most progressive and richest part of the country – along with the people. Well, we have come to save both the people and the wealth: “We don’t want a single inch of foreign land, but we won’t give up a single inch of our own land either.”shamelessly asked to speculate with all these riches: “Take our rare earths as well as lithium, tungsten, chromium and the entire Mendeleev table, and just keep supplying us with money and weapons. We’ll pocket it all and then leave.”

Well, you need a lot of imagination to imagine a Ukraine without corruption…
Or you smoke something that comes from heaven.
What you describe is true of children’s books about capitalism, “a beautiful, perfect world” and does not apply to ANY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD…
So with Putin, Ukraine probably still has the best chance of becoming a habitable country WITHOUT bitter poverty…
See your no-go arenas in EVERY Western country where civil society, out of compassion, opens or has to open soup kitchens and food collection points (food banks)!
Where pensioners, after working in the richest country in Europe for 45 years, have to collect deposit bottles and queue at food distribution points…not to mention the neighborhoods in US cities.
YOU WILL NEVER FIND ALL OF THAT IN RUSSIA.
You would all be amazed to walk through Moscow, St. Petersburg or even small towns…
You wouldn’t even find a cigarette butt on the streets, let alone syringes
BUT I can see from your comment…you have NEVER been to Ukraine where everyone is watching in some way “how to get their asses against the wall” (corrupt) because they partly have to…because EVERY official there is corrupt.
Which was exactly the same until Putin took power in Russia…especially in the Red Army as you saw from the heads of the leadership rolling.

“the west will continue to attack Russia for as long as it takes to destroy Russia (centuries if necessary)”
Not sure who originally posted this, but the west may not have the wherewithal, as the east produces more and more and the west produces less and less. It doesn’t help that, under US influence, Europe is committing economic suicide by cutting off its cheap energy nose to spite Russia’s face.
It was exactly 100 years from Kipling’s poem Recessional, written at the height of British Imperial power, to the election of Tony Blair.
Far-called, our navies melt away;
On dune and headland sinks the fire:
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
