Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Looting The ‘Allies’

With regards to Trump attempting to land grab Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal, Agit Papadakis offers some interesting observation:

The Bozo [Trump] Doctrine, the Bibi [Netanyahoo] Doctrine, and the Tayyip [Erdogan] Doctrine, are all converging on a new post-Westphalian world disorder of imperialism gone nuts.

For the cucked vassals of the old order this means either grow a pair and resist or lose every shred of sovereignty, dignity, and material comfort you have left. Cucks like the EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea and wounded weak states like Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq are all suffering the torment of being raped and ravaged by powerful rogue states.

Bozo didn't lose a minute to join the melée. He looked at the economic train wreck he was inheriting and decided it was now or never to hoist the Jolly Roger over his big but old and rusty military machine and what's left of the once mighty dollar's hegemony.

His first victims would be the weak and cucked vassals who poured their sorry excuse for a military and their treasure into the Ukraine black hole. Bozo knows that his unfurling of the black banner will automatically dissolve those BS "alliances" with weak vassals that were never but a frilly negligée concealing America's naked imperialism, as revealed by the the lonely squeak of the French chihuahua protesting Bozo's Greenland grab and threatening to resist.

The cucked chihuahuas of the Rules Based Order are suddenly up against Judgement Day, naked and defenseless between two raging behemoths, Amerisrael and Russia, while an even bigger and scarier one, China, looms over everybody else.

It's the 19th century with nukes and hypersonics and space jets, which would normally be followed by the world wars of the 20th. But with 21st century speed, it shouldn't take longer than a decade if that.

Agit's rant refers to a 'based' thread 'On American expansionism' by Russians With Attitude:

The incoming administration seems to have a more realistic image of the state of American hegemonial decline and wants to take proactive steps to try to counteract and reverse it, breathing new life into the American Global Empire.

The world that existed in 1991-2022 does not exist anymore. It's not coming back. You can just invade your neighbor. You can just fire missiles at international shipping lanes. You can just threaten to annex members of your military alliance. “You can just do things”, as the techbros like to say. The mirage of a post-historical order that only has to be policed from time to time but is never seriously challenged has disappeared. What did you think canceling the End of History meant? Vibes? Papers? Essays?

America's vassals WILL have to confront this state of things and make hard decisions about their future. This means reckoning with their geopolitical impotence and either embracing dependency with open eyes or seeking pathways to autonomy that will inevitably involve risk, sacrifice, and a recalibration of their national priorities.

The era of coasting on borrowed security and ideological rhetoric is over. What lies ahead is a world where historical agency must be reclaimed or forever relinquished, and for many, the question may not be whether they are ready to make that leap, but whether they even remember how. America has now understood this — and is mentally preparing to switch back to the cold logic that comes with actual History. The times, they are a-changin'.

The unilateral moment has ended. Russia, India and China have become too rich and too powerful to be looted. U.S. vassals are now by far the easier target.

Trump's ideas of taking from the 'allies' is not knew. The U.S. plundering of its vassals has been ongoing for some time.

The instigation of the war in Ukraine can be interpreted as a large U.S. looting operation of its European 'allies'.

Biden was also quite successful when he blew up Nord Stream. (This was btw the second time the U.S. destroyed a Russia to Germany pipeline. An analytical book available on the first incident in 1982 had been written by Anthony Blinken!)

The weaklings in the German and EU government did not even dare protest. They instead condemned their people to pay horrendous prices for U.S. fracking gas. On top of that they were pressed to buy U.S. weapons to feed the war in Ukraine.

Things did not go as well as planned with the war in Ukraine but the U.S. is still winning from it.

I would add a fourth: Illegal smuggling

The reason Sheinbaum has directed the military against the cartels is quite simple: there’s more money in real estate development than drugs.
Here’s the thing: while lots of people in both north and south America have figured it out, the Chinese and dot Indians are still largely MIA.
With Baja, Cabo, PV (Puerto Vallarta) and of course CDMX real estate already at record highs, just a final tweak to clean out the criminal gangs will make it feel safer for the RoW.
That’s when everyone wakes up and decides they want their slice as well.
In addition, proactively attacking the cartels pre-empts any US efforts at creating a causus belli to justifying intervention.

Here is something worth reporting on and analysing:
The US has increased its reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to $25 million, up from the $15 million offered in 2020, the US Treasury announced on Friday. The move comes as part of a broader set of measures, including sanctions and travel restrictions, targeting officials associated with the Venezuelan government.
In rational moral world where BRICS and the Global South had an ounce of courage and solidarity (which they do not possess) forces would align to evict the USA from the United Nations and every other international body.
The USA would be blacklisted and it’s trade embargoed. Not one Law of the USA would be honoured by anyone.
Military action would be taken against the Rogue Criminal State (and it’s allies unilaterally) as it was aga8nst Nazi Germany and Japan.
But the people and the governments of the world are dumb stupid and cowards. They are in fact frauds.
Instead the site is flooded with nonsensical articles about WADA – fake news about Trumps trolling the world – irrelevant garbage by useless writers about “looting the allies”
This site produces and rehashes shit for gullible morons. .

The US derived from a white settler COLONY that took land through ethnic cleansing and genocide. In 1898 the Filipinos got to exchange Spanish colonial rule for US colonial rule, as did the Puerto Ricans. They also stole Hawaii from its inhabitants, and colonized islands like Guam after WW2. In 1848 the US stole half of Mexico through conquest.

Always amusing to see TDS in action.
Trump is clearly steering away from neocon/PNAC/”end of history”/”world hegemon” ideology into the logical extension of MAGA: focus on America’s sphere of influence/interest.
Why is this a bad thing?
Just because Trump doesn’t do what “progressives” want, does not mean his actions will not benefit America or Americans.
Nor am I the least bit sympathetic to the so-called “cucks”.

I agree it is a possibility, there is a Sufi prediction for the US to remain the world power for 400-500 years.
Conventionally, military or economic it looks pessimistic for the US.
Disruptor technologies could change that equation. Nuveau mega rich Musk being feted by the nu president has nu governing powers, a reward for bringing Starship to the cusp of initiation. Starlink has already prolonged the UKrain war and cost the Russians men, material, costs. UKrain would be blind and deaf without it, and instead of being a punching bag, it is able to counter punch.
Simplicius writes (to paraphrase) that the US is abusing it’s vassals due to it’s end state. Respectfully, I think it is due to hubris of knowledge of it’s self perceived capabilities. Biden, Trump, Blinken & co., Musk all have that arrogance about them. EU cowed and towing the line. During the cold war, with some super power equivalence, the US supported and grew it’s vassals as it needed every advantage it could get regarding the USSR. That is currently not the case, the US acts as if the vassals can be toyed with as cat and mouse. Zark Fukaburger, Bezos (billionaires), Trudyeau, Zgirl have all bowed before Trump & co. and signal something nuvel. Musk is acting like an EU bureaucrat on roids.
This indicates major delusional thinking if in the latter stages of empire, or a poorly hidden current of supremacy if there are latent capabilities.
Know your enemy is a watch phrase, and with regard to looting the allies, I would add know your friend.

China’s formula is trading resources for infrastructure while developing markets as the nation itself develops. Russia’s formula is somewhat different as it concentrates on helping nations regain their sovereignty, while helping nations help themselves by creating projects that employ people to defeat the discontent that drives extremism.

I do not think that China or Russia are anymore into helping other nations much lately.
IF you are independent and IF you goverment wants to help the people THEN you can have a joint project with Russia or China that will greately help your nation.
But here comes the problem: the country is NOT independent and the government does NOT want to help the people.
Hence the government will be changed and/ or war will break out and ALL help from China and Russia will be destroyed.

The key problem within the Global Majority is the unequal nature of resource wealth and development where one program cannot fit all. However, the place to start is by providing all nations with dignity–inequality isn’t due to one people being more pious than another; it’s most often due to differences in the level of a nation’s development of its Human Capital, which is why education is key and must be geared to the level of each nation’s development.

The KEY problem is the Empire and the shadow elite behind the “empire”. You can not really do anything “good” until you become independent from “them”
Sure, apparently Russia and China have found a way to be independent and MAYBE to propagate this independence over generations. Propagation of “good power” and independence shadow elite is KEY and honestly very unlikely considering brainwashing of young generations… but let us “hope”
However “education” is NOT a solution when you are NOT independent. Education is the problem.
Today “education” in West and vassal states is just brainwashing for subservience.
The academia, teachers on all levels, intellectual elite and artists are the first people to betray their country for a few dollars more and a small “status” improvement.
And they control and brainwash the new young generations.

There’s no simple, add a drop of water and presto, fix. And as the development ladder is climbed, the formula remains the same but the inputs differ. Xi’s formula for China is simple yet complex–continual modernization, reform and opening up.

Eh NO, “development ladder” is based on fossil fuels and result will only be “beneficial” if the country is independent and this is valid ONLY for Russia and China.
Maybe Iran and NK are independent also but Iran is deeply penetrated and infiltrated by shadow elite as it is Russia somehow…
“The formula” is very complicated and is mainly a way to find “good will” and “good skills” people and to educate and promote them into power structures.
You have to select from 99.99% of bad people and this is very very hard to do.
Destruction and using the bad people is much much easier unfortunately.
Plus the shadow elite will simulate “good will” and will infiltrate you power structures.
And the “shadow elite” have an 10.000 years old proved, tested and well oiled “formula” to select and promote bad will people but with skills into their power ranks.

There’s another constant–problems; they will always exist. Government’s primary reason for being is to establish and regulate the social order and in doing so to solve the problems that always arise. That bit of basic civics is all too often forgotten, but that doesn’t mean it vanishes.
Posted by: karlof1 | Jan 10 2025 23:22 utc | 107

Well yes, “forces of Good” have a bad day everyday and double that tomorrow with no rewards usually.
“Forces of Bad” have an easy day every day and great rewards each time…
Government primary reason of being is to serve the “shadow elite”, same for deep state and academia and intellectual elite.
“Basic civics” are missing in action starting maybe from the last democracy in Athens 2000+ years ago.
Oh. BTW, having elections means “oligarchy” and this was Sparta’s way.
Choosing random people to office with referendum on each important issue is the only democracy as it was the Athens way…
but brainwashing works and people think that is the have “elections” then they have “democracy”… NO you do NOT.
BTW again the WAR was won by Sparta because Athens won the fight in the end BUT adopted “oligarchy” and dumped “democracy” in order to “win to war and loose democracy” …

Trump is clearly steering away from neocon/PNAC/”end of history”/”world hegemon” ideology into the logical extension of MAGA: focus on America’s sphere of influence/interest.
Why is this a bad thing?

Sure, because Trump can NOT do anything unless the shadow elite allow him to do it. he is just another kind of “puppet”, different looks, clothes, wife and temperament but anyway a “puppet” for the shadow elite.

Just because Trump doesn’t do what “progressives” want, does not mean his actions will not benefit America or Americans.

Yes, nobody in the shadow elite really care for “what “progressives” want”, neither do they care for what other people want.
Nothing can benefit America and American people.
Everything always benefits the shadow elite 😀

NO they can NOT change course.
IF they try they will be killed, destroyed, family tortured, more bad things, etc
The failure is not on them because they (the elite in those countries) like to be slaves with benefits for the shadow elite and benefit greatly from this.
Nobody really cares for the “normal” poor people be it “Karen” or “woke” or “conservatives” or “MAGA” kind of people, nobody cares.
It is because of the “shadow elite” and indeed NOT because of “Trump” or “US” but then again Trump or US are just “willing” puppets for the shadow elite … so …

Thanks everyone, now I see that what is upsetting is, or can be found in, the names we give to what is happening. Most of us here like very much what China and Russia have been accomplishing. (I know, some don’t, but hear me out.) What if the ‘new’ Trump administration isn’t just going along with what Empire likes to do, so more of the same only worse?
How about, as I think karlof1 and Nemesis calling are starting to suggest (again, I could be wrong) Trump is looking at the globe and saying:- here are the facts of geography guys. Clumps of sovereign nations here, clumps there. That’s China and that’s Russia, both surrounded by neighbors that are sovereign nations. Okay, here’s the US. Same thing, only different of course — our clump is called The Americas. So, plenty of work to get it right ahead, no thanks to Biden’s mess-ups. No thanks to everyone’s historical mess-ups. Been there, done that; case closed.
We’re new to all this, just starting out: we’ll follow your lead, and there’s plenty to do. Co-operatively speaking.
Honor the dead. Heal the wounds. Stop the wars. Talk, and trade. The Year of the Dragon (however one interprets that enigmatic creature) is coming to an end.

Let us face the reality:
US will suck dry all vassals and vassal states and governments will do “exactly nothing” against it.
Some elite in vassal states might increase their well being and wealth in the process.
US might also consolidate power adding Canada, and Greenland and Panama and later most of South America to itself and/or vassals (most already are vassals in south America anyway)
Russia and China and BRICS will have a “huge win” IF they just “survive”.
The Empire might go down, but there are still 300+ years of energy and power into it.
Mainly is the suck dry EU and Canada + others
Besides the shadow elite that control the western world does not really care for US / Empire other than being an still useful tool / puppet.
Once US are done and also sucked dry of resources the shadow elite will move on on other locations and other targets.
However the “shadow elite” signal that they want to keep US / Empire viable for a while longer than “expected”

“The debt based financial system requires constant, perpetual growth, as the money supply must expand if only to create additional funds to pay accrued interest on all prior tranches lent to date.”
Posted by: MarkW | Jan 10 2025 16:36 utc | 13
Gold standard fixed exchange rate nonsense Mark. That is not an accurate description of how money works today.
Interest on US treasuries held by the public ( The national debt) is paid using keystrokes. It doesn’t need to be or ever has to be found.
$’s held as a reserve balance at the FED ——–> get swapped for US treasuries and held in a treasury account at the FED.
The holders now no longer hold cash savings they now hold US treasuries instead.
When the US treasuries mature the funds plus interest are credited back into the reserve account.
The holders now hold cash savings again and no longer hold US treasuries.
If you hold $ savings you can….
a) Pay taxes with it/ invest it/ in other words spend it.
b) Save it as cash
c) Save it in US treasuries/ in other words swap it.
d) Swap it for another currency
That is it.
Countries that hold $ savings at the FED can …..
a) Spend it buy buying US goods and services.
b) Continue to save it as a reserve balance.
c) Move it from their reserve account into a treasury account and swap their $’s for treasuries.
d) Swap it for another currency.
That is it.
If you or a country decide to choose option d)
It’s a closed system. In a fully fiat free floating system you need somebody wanting to exchange the other way.
If you want to exchange or a country wants to exchange
$’s ———> £’s
Then someone else has to want to exchange
$’s < ------- £'s Or the exchange won't happen. Which shows the $'s don't leave the system. All that happens is the name or names of the $ accounts change. The exchange takes place and somebody else now holds them. That somebody now has the same 4 choices you originally had. Don't believe me ? Then get off yer arse and study the government accounts and analyse the government balance sheets. FED balance sheets and commercial banks balance sheets. They all balance to zero. It is called the US sectoral balances. https://gimms.org.uk/fact-sheets/sectoral-balances/
Every country on the planet sectoral balances balance to zero.
Private sector debt ( bank lending ) to households and businesses who are currency users. Is a whole different ball game. If households and businesses can’t pay their loans. As 2008 showed when ideologues replaced government spending with bank lending to run an economy. Who were dumb enough to believe due to their ideology. That bank lending is all you need and All they needed to do was shrink government spending to a pittance. It would bring a land of milk and honey.
Even after what they witnessed with their own eyes in 2008. The ideologues today still want to take us there. A quick quid and pounds in your pockets economy. Of pay day lenders charging exuberant lending rates. The credit card economy until households and businesses can no longer pay it back.

I wonder if a financially strong country that is not a military power could become a financial power. Like, say, one of the oil rich sheikdoms?
Posted by: Jmaas | Jan 10 2025 19:28 utc | 63
It seems the two go together, there is some historical basis for that, but I am not studied enough in that subject to be certain. For example, London being a financial center is partly due to it’s past supremacy, while concurrently being back stopped by the US military.
There seems to be a need for trusted third party neutral financial centers, like Switzerland used to be. The sheikdoms are a hub for Iran, India, SA, Russia. But those are not primary financial centers.
Where is Jeremy Rhys-Laing? He would know. Sorry if I got your name incorrect, going by memory.

Posted by: Eighthman | Jan 10 2025 22:35 utc | 91
Well that is what TPTB want you to not forget.
But
It was Trump that initiated the lethal aid to Ukraine and then briefly withheld that aid.
At that point TPTB want you to believe that it was you who wanted to aid Ukraine and it was Trump that was standing in the way.
And believe it or not, no matter how stupid that sounds, that ploy worked. Millions of Americans now believe they wanted to send aid to kill Russians in the Donbass and it was Trump who was against it.
This is the power Trump has on Americans. People will do and believe all sorts of crazy things just because they think Trump doesn’t want it. 81 million voted in 2020 for no other reason than they thought Trump doesn’t want it and now he will be president for 4 more years.

“Homeless in Greenland” is funny 😀
Trump is knowingly or unknowingly pulling a great diversion and sort of a narrative coup.
Even with financialization (worse than worthless in itself) there’s nothing valuable enough about either Greenland, Canada, or Panama: not in comparison with the problems the US has. Not even close and the US will end up with less by trying to fill the newfound voids. (Only China and Russia would make a difference but the US would break them and thus ruin even that, even if they were served on a silver platter).
The required spending spree will be enormous 🙂
The US can’t run their own affairs properly and as a “solution” decides to take on even more work XD

And what really hurts is the US 30-plus trillion dollar debt that can never be paid.
Posted by: Ed | Jan 10 2025 18:58
Gold standard, fixed exchange rate nonsense Ed.
You suffer from balance sheetitis. Only look at one side of the government balance sheet. The liability side of the balance sheet. So you only ever tell one side of the story.
Ideologues are excellent at only looking at one side of the balance sheet. Creating strawmen they can easily blow down.
However, once you include the other side of the government balance sheet. The asset side of the government balance sheet. The ideologues fairy tale straw man changes dramatically. Why they only ever focus on the liability side of the balance sheet.
Once you look at the asset side of the government balance sheet. You see clearly the 30-plus $trillion are held as savings by the public. Businesses, pension funds, insurance companies and the rich etc etc.
Or in simple English terms.
When you run a trade deficit. The government budget DEFICIT = the non government sectors SURPLUS to the penny. Each and every time.
The national debt is just some of that non government sector SURPLUS that has been swapped for US treasuries.
The government budget DEFICIT is the private sectors savings held as cash. The National debt is the private sectors savings held as US treasuries.
Period – End of discussion and end of the debate.
If the US government ISSUES $100 trillion into the US economy via government spending.
But only collects back $50 trillion in taxes.
It is said using Orwellian language that it is running a $50 trillion government deficit. If you only look at the liability side of the balance sheet.
The truth is free from Orwellian language is the non government sector holds a $50 trillion SURPLUS.
If the put $100 trillion in but only taxed $50 trillion out. The other $50 trillion is still left in the economy as people’s savings.
Some of which is then swapped for US treasuries so the non government sectors can earn more interest in their savings.
Watch and learn :
Here.

Yes, those pesky Jewz I imagine, always up to mischief yeah. No, sorry, I hate to burst your bubble but the course of empires is not dictated by any “elite” – shadow or otherwise. Or the Hapsburgs would still be around. There are factors out of the control of a state that determine its fate – structurally the international system cannot sustain one hegemony for very long, and the US is coming up on its due date.

The current and past leaders of the Europeans countries – with quite a few exceptions – are ignorant, stupid and cowards, all at the same time.
Ignorant of the causes and consequences of WW2, when the USA gave Hitler the means to wage war (like now they give means to the ukronazis to wage war). And engage the destruction of Europe, profiting directly from it.
Stupid, like all vassals. Listen for instance Bruno Le Maire in 2022: “Our sanctions are effective, the economic and financial sanctions are even of formidable effectiveness and I do not want to leave any ambiguity hanging over the European determination on this subject, we are going to wage a total economic and financial war on Russia. So we will provoke the collapse of the Russian economy.” Did he believe what he said? Is it possible to be more stupid?
And cowards, like all vassals. Cf. examples given by B.

Maybe an not knowingly and not-wanting puppet but still a puppet he will be
He will have of course a different policy than Obama and his policy “might” help America a little but apparently only.
I do not believe in God versus Satan or Left versus Right or Obama versus Trump ot other similar kind of divisions and solutions to the problems.
I think those kind of “opposites” are artificially generated by the shadow elite in order to brainwash people into thinking a solution exists IF you just elect or move to the “other” side
I do believe in Good versus Evil.
But yes I also think that Evil has the upper numbers and upper easy hand by a huge margin…

Note I am not saying Trump is some sort of saint.

He surely is NOT.
He is an “elite class” millionaire or billionaire that forces people to work for him and exploits them in a capitalistic way.
He is just not “inside” the shadow elite and this is the problem.

But to conflate the MAGA movement and American populism with Obama “Hope and Change” is a mistaken analysis of enormous extent.

I do not conflate them.

Ultimately, talk is cheap. We will see what happens.

YES but what else but talk can we do at a virtual bar?
We express our opinions…
yes we will see…

The very fact that the Kagans are whining, that the Cheneys endorsed Kamala is enough evidence to me that Trump is very much NOT the puppet of the globalist shadow elites you seen to think exist.
Posted by: c1ue | Jan 11 2025 1:13 utc | 129

Eh NOPE, whatever Kagans or Cheneys do or say is irrelevant because they are also puppets that will do say and cry as told and when told to…
YES, it is my opinion that this shadow elite exists in reality.

Trump is going to add $5.8 trillion to the US budget deficit.
Here:
https://budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2024/8/26/trump-campaign-policy-proposals-2024
In other words free from Orwellian language and looking at both sides of the balance sheets. Trump is going to add a $5.8 trillion SURPLUS to the non government sectors with his tax cuts.
But what sectors of the non government will receive the $ 5.8 trillion SURPLUS ?
In 2026 …
The poorest will receive $320
The top 0.1% will receive $ 376,910
By 2034 ….
The poorest will receive $465
The top 0.1% will receive $ 214,935
So the tax cuts are going to the rich again in the non government sectors.
Because they have less propensity to consume than the poor who have to spend every penny they get just to survive. What are the rich going to do with these funds ?
That’s right, swap it for US treasuries to earn more interest. This will increase the national debt IF there is low growth like his first term. As the debt ( US treasuries held by the public ) is measured against GDP.
What will the ideologues say then ?
Absolutely nothing as their Jesus is now in charge.
Harris proposals for adding to the budget DEFICIT – the non government sectors SURPLUS were:
In 2026 …
The poorest will receive $2,355
The top 0.1% will receive $ – 167,255
By 2034 ….
The poorest will receive $2,310
The top 0.1% will receive $ – 208,080
So as per usual the working class voted against their own best interests. Fell for the Orwellian language around budgets. Along with their complete failure to understand money.
But who in their right mind would vote for the neolib war machine anyway ?
Trump is not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy ! Who preaches from the trickle down alter.

@84 fnord
Yes, the paragraph is clumsy, but the point is a valid one. Perhaps you just misinterpreted it.
But your point that diversity makes the public less susceptible to pilfering is hugely absurd.
I have a point to make and that is SE Asia will be the big winners of the 21st century. China, Japan, Korea (when the reproachment happens alongside the west’s fall), India (???)…and it won’t be because of diversity, but heritage culture and homogeneity.
Your take that diversity = strength could only be taken as a truism under a universalist paradigm like Christianity or Islam.
Secular U.S. suffers from diversity.
Cesar Chavez fought the wetback problem because it was too much, too fast, and it undermined their union.
St. Thomas Acquinas makes the same point when he wrote that immigration is fine so long as it is checked markedly by the host culture and that the new-in-town assimilate fast.
I admit that there is an ethnocentric trace in the above idea, but you can not tell me that a scattered, diverging culture is not easy-pickins for TPTB.

However the “shadow elite” signal that they want to keep US / Empire viable for a while longer than “expected”
Yes, those pesky Jewz I imagine, always up to mischief yeah. No, sorry, I hate to burst your bubble but the course of empires is not dictated by any “elite” – shadow or otherwise. Or the Hapsburgs would still be around.

I also hate to burst your bubble but NO, Jews and NOT part of that “shadow elite” and neither are the “Hapsburg”.
No royal family is. No politician is. No billionaire is.
Nobody that is visible and / or has a well known name or high position in society can be a part of that shadow elite.
The “Shadow” culture part is of the essence so they can NOT be known, hence never defaeated fully since you can not reach them.
They are not public figures or public races or public religion or known ideology based.
They have their own culture and “ideology” but is it hidden not known to the public or to CIA for that matter.
You never meet one from such elite unless you passed by them by mistake on the streets not knowing who they are…

There are factors out of the control of a state that determine its fate – structurally the international system cannot sustain one hegemony for very long, and the US is coming up on its due date.

Well, once the Roman empire was “not-sustainable” it still continued to exist and win some wars for hundreds of years until final blow come to Rome
or existed for extra thousands of years in it’s eastern Constantinople branch…
BUT is am willing to accept that maybe I am wrong and all that we see in the world is the result or a “fortunate” series of errors, fools, evil, accidents, etc
However my opinion is that a “shadow elite” is a logical solution to power accumulation and power propagation over generations starting maybe 10.000 years ago or even earlier.
It explains well WHY decision makers make “wrong” or “evil” decisions that do not benefit their country, group or organizations BUT still are not punished for it and are even protected until they die
Like, for example, the EU and vassals decision to willingly self destruct for US and US to self destruct for “something else”
I know it is not popular and never will be because you can not defeat them unless extreme measures are taken and sustained maybe planet wide for a very long time…
And I have my other factual reasons to consider this “shadow elite” group of people to be real … BUT unfortunately I can not talk about them here or in public 😀

The current and past leaders of the Europeans countries – with quite a few exceptions – are ignorant, stupid and cowards, all at the same time.

Yes hey are, but this is a “feature” not a problem for them.
And doing the “stupid” thing they doe get advantages, big money accounts and happy life…
What is not to like for them?
The only one that “suffer” for the leaders stupidity are the “general population”

Well, the sanctions might work in the long time, as they DID WORK on Syria with help from US occupation and they might work on Venezuela…
It was Putin that took drastic and intelligent measures to protect against sanctions, and with the huge resources wealth available in Russia and with some help from China… for Russia maybe today the sanctions do NOT work…
But…. but… you just wait 100 years …
and a new Gorbachev might raise to power in Russia and sell the country again

And cowards, like all vassals. Cf. examples given by B.
Posted by: Naive | Jan 11 2025 1:39 utc | 135

Cowards, maybe…
BUT thy become rich in the process at the expense of general population
And general population agrees to be destroyed because they are brainwashed… and it is Putin’s fault anyway don’t ya know it?

Posted by: bog | Jan 11 2025 2:53 utc | 129

One wonders how long US vassal populations will put up with being screwed at the behest of US Zionism and imperialism, and wake the hell up and take their countries back.
One also wonders this about the US population whose tax dollars are going to destroy and genocide other countries.
It is truly an education in psychology watching people cave like cowering morons to US/EU politicians and their MSM’s that LIE, GASLIGHT and manipulate them on the regular. Anyone reading that trash needs their heads examined.
Until someone stands up to this brutal disgusting and evil hegemon, things will only get worse for the vassals. Here’s hoping that Greenland’s, Panama’s and Canadian populations can tell Uncle Sugar to F off in a big way..
Maybe the vassals populations will take notice and act.

Something similar is about to happen in many countries as the old leadership, which has been on the wrong track, is being replaced. Whoever comes in, it really doesn’t matter if he or she is a brilliant leader. The US got Ford. He wasn’t, and it was a great relief.

Greenland will share Puerto Rico’s fate – if it is lucky. I’m quite sure Trump will come up with all kinds of extravagant promises that he never intends to fulfill to lure the naive to get onboard with his plan. The agreement-incapable US reneging on its “no eastward NATO expansion” promise resulting in the Ukraine mess comes to mind.
https://www.diis.dk/en/research/greenland-in-the-mirror-of-puerto-rico

– Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States.
– Puerto Ricans are American citizens by birth, yet they have no voting representation in Congress and do not have the right to vote for the president of the United States.
– Puerto Rico’s economy is heavily dependent on federal subsidies, and its fiscal policies and debt restructuring negotiations are in the hands of an unelected oversight board appointed by the president and the congressional leadership.
– Puerto Rico, unlike Greenland, has no authority to conclude international agreements.

Trump cultists responded in a predictable fashion.
From the January 08, 2025 “To Avoid Fighting Large Conflicts Trump Is Creating Smaller Ones” thread:

But in the “good for whom?” field, Greenlanders might be glad to get out from under the Danish yoke. It is kind of absurd that tiny Denmark controls gigantic Greenland, but more to the point, there is a long history of overt racism by Danes regarding the indigenous population of Greenland.
Despite the negative colonial baggage, in the case of a referendum I hope the Greenlanders take plenty of time to consider the benefits of being far removed from one’s master!
Posted by: Jane | Jan 8 2025 15:24 utc | 20

And from this very thread:

Historically the US were to a big extent a de-colonizing power. Just consider the final crushing of the Spanish empire 150 years ago. The last remaining colony on the North American continent is Greenland. So a de-colonization is historically more consistent than it initially seems.
Posted by: xblob | Jan 10 2025 22:14 utc | 85

The fascist followers of Trump (redundant, I know, but the emphasis is needed) have already begun expressing false concern for Greenlanders and justifying the act of annexing Greenland as freeing Greenland from colonial oppression. Greenlanders aren’t being freed. Spain selling the Philippines to the US isn’t freeing the natives. It’s just swapping one master for another master who’s even more abusive.
The very same fascist followers are fiercely advocating for immigrants to be kicked out of the US. Aren’t they afraid of America being forced to support an influx of new people when Greenland is taken over? Why the exception for Greenlanders? Freedom from oppression? Would these fascist Trump followers welcome immigrants if the immigrants claim that they’re escaping oppression back home?
It’s the resources and strategic location of Greenland that the fascists want. Greenlanders themselves are an afterthought.
The fascists are utterly shameless. To serve their fascistic needs, they appropriated the Marxist argument for why the US model for immigration is exploitative.
The productive powers of immigrant workers destined for America are better put to use in developing their home countries – that is true. However, fascists keep forgetting the part where America puts into place policies that severely limit these immigrants’ home countries’ development, including the infamous rent extraction scheme via dollar hegemony, which drives people to leave home and seek a better life in America.
The house negroes (citizens of the imperial core/Americans) are upset that the master of the house are bringing in field negroes (economic migrants) and fear that their position in the household will be usurped. They don’t care if slavery is ended. They don’t care about bringing down their master’s house.
For the European Trump/Musk/AfD devotees:
“German companies had benefited from Nazi Germany’s system of forced labor during World War II, wherein millions of foreigners were taken from their homelands and compelled to work in German factories, often for paltry wages under abominable conditions. In Bahlsen’s case, some seven hundred coerced workers, most of them Polish and Ukrainian women, were deported to the cookie factory in Hannover, where they were underpaid and abused.” Now, imagine a coalition of German workers got together to kick these coerced workers out because it depressed German wages, arguing that these immigrants’ productive powers could be put to better use in developing Ukraine and Poland. This coalition of German workers is completely uninterested in the fact that Ukraine and Poland are under German occupation.
All the signs of typical fascist thinking are there: Juden raus, Lebensraum, slandering socialism (much like how Nazi called themselves national socialists but targeted communists and socialists for purging, Trump’s fascist followers rebranded colonial annexation as decolonization).

Some people like to use ‘capitalism’ as the Western identifier, while others (such as myself) prefer debt based financial system.
Posted by: MarkW | Jan 10 2025 16:36 utc | 13

It is capitalism.
Inventing a new term to dissociate the phenomena from capitalism only serves to rehabilitate capitalism. While capitalism is a necessary transitory stage (from feudalism) towards communism, it nevertheless must be surpassed. Capitalism cannot be the end stage of history.
What you’re describing has been foreseen by Lenin over 100 years ago: Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism (1916)
https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1916/imp-hsc/
Please, read the full work and educate yourself.
As a teaser, here’s the table of contents:

V. DIVISION OF THE WORLD AMONG CAPITALIST ASSOCIATIONS
VI. DIVISION OF THE WORLD AMONG THE GREAT POWERS
VII. IMPERIALISM AS A SPECIAL STAGE OF CAPITALISM
VIII. PARASITISM AND DECAY OF CAPITALISM
IX. CRITIQUE OF IMPERIALISM
X. THE PLACE OF IMPERIALISM IN HISTORY
I’ve previously correctly called that Trump will flirt with the idea of Lebensraum as a solution for America’s mounting internal contradictions and that Trump will welcome immigrants (in his own words, “We need a lot of people coming in”) despite his election promises because immigrants are easier to exploit than citizens. I’m not a mind reader. I simply have a basic, functioning grasp of Marxist concepts.

I was watching an academic arguing that two atom bombs saved many lives – because Japan and others were starving to death, the numbers thereof were enormous, along with Japan’s bamboo stave defensive strategy.
Posted by: Eighthman | Jan 10 2025 22:35 utc | 91

The two atomic bombs were never necessary to save lives. That’s an American lie. The Japanese were ready to surrender to the Soviets. The Americans wanted to ensure that the Japanese surrendered to them and not the Soviets so that Japan can serve as the first island chain to contain China. The atomic bombs happened to be the way that the depraved murdering nation chose to call dibs.
Many Chinese people feel that the two bombs were just desserts for the Nanking Massacre, Unit 731, and the many atrocities perpetrated by the Japanese that they remain unapologetic for, but that does not change the fact that the two bombs were never necessary in the first place.

There’s a group of MoA commentators who spends more time castigating the oppressor’s victims instead of the oppressor.
I recall one barfly going by the name of Sakineh Bagoom who attacked China for not repaying Iran’s debts. How does it feel now that the jackals are going after Iran and Russia for not doing enough to prevent Syria’s collapse? Will Sakineh Bagoom blame Russia for not giving Iran more weapons and China for not building up Iran’s infrastructure, or will Sakineh Bagoom blame the US for taking away Syria’s oil fields and arming regional anti-Iran proxies, I wonder.
Are you a Russian or Chinese citizen? What sort of political action can you take in the region of the world you inhabit that can bring down the US Empire? Focus on that. Unless you’re a glowie, in which case keep up the good work on spreading divisiveness.

The ongoing LA fire, fascist Trump followers blaming the LA fire on non-existent arsonists who happened to be homeless and/or non-white, the mention of Fukuyama’s “end of history”, and a barfly talking about the two nukes the US dropped on Japan reminded me of this song:
Sleep Now in the Fire
Rage Against the Machine
Track 5 on The Battle of Los Angeles

The world is my expense
The cost of my desire
Jesus blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
So raise your fists and march around
Just don’t take what you need

I’ll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or I’ll drag you to your grave
I’m deep inside your children
They’ll betray you in my name
The lie is my expense
The scope of my desire
The party blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
I am the Niña, the Pinta, the Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist, the fields’ overseer
The agents of orange, the priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

For it’s the end of history
It’s caged and frozen still
There is no other pill to take
So swallow the one that makes you ill

And that’s it for me. Sorry for the flood of posts.

Finally people start to realize that the great US/UK plan for Ukraine was a war against Europe because the UK were weakened by Brexit and needed a new leverage. Maybe some will realize too that Sarkozy/Carlyle betrayed his country by joining the US regime change efforts in the Ivory Coast and Libya back en 2011.
And when they finally see the light it will be possible to say that yes, covid was part of the current war against Europe (where all small businesses have been fair game for the major transnational US corps since covid lockdowns and their effects on local economied).
By the way, some countries such as San Marin, Morrocco and the UAE used Chinese and Russian classical injections rather than the experimental ones and we do not see a drop in their population or that tourists would have to avoid going there by fear of covid. So what does that say? And why were Europeans not allowed to take these injections in the world of free economy?

Because this will come to haunt the US (financially) in the (near / distant) future. But it requires someone with the long term strategic view like a George Kennan to see that long term view. It seems that the current US administrations have only their own (short) term considerations in mind.

Well, once the Roman empire was “not-sustainable” it still continued to exist and win some wars for hundreds of years until final blow come to Rome

You should look up what hegemon means. Or at least attempt to understand the words and concepts I use. The Roman empire was “viable” for so long because there was no serious peer competitor to it. Unlike today, where there is a serious geopolitical bloc contesting US primacy.
Also “existing” and “hegemony” are two different things. I’m not saying the US will cease to exist. The country itself will continue on for however long. But its ability to project power (diplomatically, politically, economically, militarily) will be curtailed, if not outright diminished or faced with a perpetual decline.
This will be due to factors such as: population decline and/or apathy, contested spheres of influence by peer rivals, economic malaise/inertia, imperial overstretch, military downgrades/lack of spending, internal societal unrest (i.e., immigration) to name just a few.
All empires collapse. The US is no exception to this rule.

Oh. Now I see what game Trump is playing with Greenland (GL). Looking at the globe, it can have nothing to do with trade routes. Where are they gunna ship to? Japan? China? It’s NOTHING to do with US security … unless RF puts bases there. Unlikely. It’s clearly resources and missiles pointed at Russia.
1. First Trump says: we want it, we need it, we’ll take it by force if need be.
2. Firstly, Denmark and GL replied fuck off.
3. Then Trump just sent his envoy-son there. And whaddya know — GL said just today, “We’ll keep it independent but we’re happy to talk to Trump”.
4. So, the US has clearly made a big $$$$ pitch to GL for social and infrastructure support, in exchange for mining rights and US bases there. How “helpful” and “nicely negotiated” is that, **after the threat of invasion**. US wants to befriend GL before anyone else “buys them off”.
But Russia may counter-offer! Interesting times ahead!

There’s something I don’t understand…
Although I’ve written it here several times…
For Trump, Alaska and Greenland are only interesting because of their coastlines to Antarctica!
Antarctica itself or the sovereign rights to the Antarctic region are measured internationally according to the LENGTH of the coastline, i.e. the LENGTH of the country’s borders TO Antarctica.
And the USA ONLY has ALASKA…so only a fraction of what the Russians have.
And Antarctica is about natural resources and therefore resources, resources in turn determine life or subordination in the future and determine where wars will break out over it in the future.
.
Other countries without direct borders to Antarctica give absurd reasons for acquiring rights.
Some have their researchers from the 1800s to the early 1900s or their missing researchers, others their research stations or travel routes.
.
Trump is trying to secure territories with the ONLY halfway legal reason there is… the length of the US border to Antarctica… because without Greenland and Alaska, Canada lacks ANY argument that other countries could necessarily recognize… COULD!

That would be the Arctic circle, but yes, that is correct.

Addendum to Greenland and Canada
.
Without these countries as US states, the USA would only have the part of the border that Alaska has with Antarctica…
This means that Greenland would have 12 times more claim to areas in Antarctica than the entire USA…
And it was already worth less to the US to go to war…
Canada…well, will have to give in and give up in some form…or be smoked by the US side.

He may talk enmity and sanctions, but only to acquire more than others. He knows RF would be far better a trading friend than a Coldwar-II enemy, and has said so. He just doesn’t have a hate Russia or hate China mind.

Oh Ossi! The US does nothing to gain by legal advantage. Once it’s in somewhere, it’s a “US Rules-Based” free for all as THEY see fit. Russia knows this and, imo, is gunna have to play hardball this century to keep them out the area.

Ultimately, even Trump knows that the West (Western bubble) cannot exist without raw materials such as wheat, sunflowers, etc. For the USA, especially in comparison to China and India, which in turn are fully supplied with resources from Russia.
Some may have a different opinion here… but in my opinion they STILL don’t understand how big the country is, and therefore what huge areas of Alaska are added… (without Russia, China and India would have no access to them)
But whatever… Trump is a businessman… yes, that may be?
Therefore, he also knows that the USA has to drag its vassals along in some form, at least economically.
BECAUSE
Otherwise they will soon be gone because their population, who will suffer, will chase their respective governments to hell… WHICH IS ALREADY HAPPENING (In Germany, “Ami go home” demonstrations are not uncommon)
And this “dragging along” cost the USA many billions and a lot of tact. Without it, it could happen that all of Europe plus Russia plus China and Africa suddenly turn against the USA.
The Western bubble cannot exist without raw materials from the Russians and can NEVER be self-sufficient…Western Europe simply has NOTHING, not even enough to be self-sufficient in bread wheat…let alone iron ore, oil, gas, etc. This Western bubble would be completely dependent on the USA, Africa, Arabs AND Russia.
In Germany alone, around 290% more bankruptcies, commercial bankruptcies, i.e. bankruptcies, like in 2022…around 67% of all farmers have given up…2023. More than half of all nuclear power plants in France are no longer in operation due to aging or will now have to be closed.
The EU is crumbling at every corner…the paymaster (Germany) is bankrupt.
I may be seeing something wrong here…But if the vassals (slaves) die, then the master dies…
End
.
Or…I, as a German, am just frustrated about the situation in the country?

Since you mentioned Antarctica not just once, but several times…
You do know that Antarctica is at the bottom of the globe and the USA (or any other country for that matter) has no coastline with it whatsoever? Antarctica is antipodal to the *arctic*.
Alaska with the Aleutian archipelago (and the panhandle) goes all the way down to 51°N (Amatignak Island). The 60th parallel north is not a definitive border regarding Alaska, in the way that it is with Yukon and NW Territories as well as Nunavut.
Threatening to take Greenland militarily for more access to the *Arctic* region is still not even halfway legal, but fully illegal.

Nobody that is visible and / or has a well known name or high position in society can be a part of that shadow elite.
So its a super secret society that nobody knows anything about, such as the members, (except for you of course) that controls everything, but its not da Jewz? Okay, got it. And that’s a totally original concept that you discovered and haven’t based it on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion? Right.

Well, it is very secret, but more hidden than secret.
I have never said “nobody” knows anything about them.
Just NOT the public opinion or general population. You only know about them what they let you know or what you can observe / perceive when they interact with you.
After all they DO interact with “puppets” and controlled people or allies via “fixers” or intermediate messengers usually.
Also they have to recruit somewhere 🙂
I have never read the “Protocols”.
I have heard about them here and on other sites but did not have the time to read them.
Do you consider the “Protocols” to be of any use?

The keyword is “slowly”. More like a work parasite eats the body food and resources without killing the host very fast.
And it started long before Ukraine SMO.
US started to acquire all users / clients and business that make a profit in EU and destroy them and move the profits viable part to US…
Chaos and destruction is a method used on purpose here.

It has nothing to do with your delusions of politics. It has everything to do with basic right and wrong.
There is one thing I think is reality cognizant lazy and that is using ‘color’ to racistly categorize humans, who are all just various shades of brown. There is no such thing as a ‘black’ person. Some people are very dark brown – of course. Put them in the Arctic for a few years, and they get paler. Go figure. Put a very ‘white’ person in the sun and they turn brown. No kidding. People blend into their surroundings, to survive in their environments, it is evolutionary adaptation at the ‘you’ level. Every human is primarily a continually changing shade of brown. Your, and others, exclusion from the natural world supports your lack of perception. Keeping it simple so excluding the tints of red, yellow, olive to the base brown.
Truly, I am even sorrier than you for your flood of posts.

America told Denmark to give its weapons to the americans and jews in Ukraine, and now america will invade Denmark.
Good job, ass-licker danes.
Finland is even worse. It took 10 american military bases in the ass, gave them one of the few airports it had, let them mark about 30% (so far) of the country for mining (which is nearly tax free to foreigners), wind parks, data centers, etc., and will probably become the next Ukraine. And then will be forced bo buy all the obsolete military junk like the F-35 flying turkeys for 10X the price and sell everything that’s still left (not much, but hey, there’s the water, the blood, the organs and the kids) to america.
Good job, swede/jew/american/nazi ass-licker finns. Yes, we know, you’ll be furious. You’ll run to the streets foaming at the mouth to defend the government’s decisions to any passerby.
There’s no rising again from that. Finnish men in the military are always bristling with excitement to kill “the enemy”, which is anyone the americans point them at. That is, anyone who’s not 100% for america, vaccines, war, the current government, etc.
Sure, EU wants to have its own army. Many EU countries are discussing mandatory conscription. But that army won’t be for defending anyone, least of all against american invasion. The unilateral moment has ended. Russia, India and China have become too rich and too powerful to be looted. U.S. vassals are now by far the easier target.

It is not that the USA can’t loot some so it loots others, as if the USA has multiple choices of where to loot. No. The USA is retreating and it does that by consuming peripheral assets, such as the EU.
This consumption of perypheral assets slows down the collapse of the core which due to unforced errors of management depends on external demand of America’s fiat currency.

Forgot to mention renaming the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. The next brain fart meant to placate the masses as the ship sinks. Strip mining vassals of assets recourse is normal. But wait until the rumblings of conscription makes itself real as the empire also needs bodies to push the military aspect. How can it expand if it’s being pushed back and what else do unemployed citizens provide other than revolution protestors , best throw them into some worthy meat grinder that delays the inevitable.

Perhaps it’s intentional. A common cheap trick of narrative control is to show ‘concern’ for the ‘fact’ that everything is the same, that there is just one hidden elite of which all powers are part, usually this goes together with super-jews controlling all. It was called defeatism.

Son of Alabama at 116 is wrong.
All modern US currency, that is the “Federal Reserve System dollar note” that is in existence was loaned into existence, with the agreement that the borrower will also pay a “compounding interest”.
Some money gets loaned into existence, and a lot more money was never created but must be paid as the compounding interest and the later group exists as what you should call “notionally existing money of account” and that type of money has 2 primary characteristics, it can never be payed because it never was created, and it is “compounding” which means it is always increasing, and it is also always increasing at an ever FASTER rate.
The only way for the global south to avoid being owned by the Banksters is to stop using a compounding interest debt money. Mind you, they can still use some kind of debt money, but it can not be allowed to owe interest or compounding interest.

The US proxy war was never about Ukrainian sovereignty; it was always about extracting wealth from European “allies” for the benefit of the MIC, who needed a big meal to prepare for future imperial fascist wars with peers like China, Russia, India, and Iran.
Posted by: Ed | Jan 10 2025 16:48 utc | 18

I disagree with this line “… it was always about extracting wealth from European “allies” for the benefit of the MIC …” as well as B’s assertion that … The instigation of the war in Ukraine can be interpreted as a large U.S. looting operation of its European ‘allies’ …
I don’t think the Western powers including the US ever thought their plan would fail, and if it didn’t fail then there would have been no expectation of the direct extraction of wealth from their European “allies”. In fact I would argue, quite the opposite, the EU countries could be relied upon to back the hegemon to the hilt as long as they were allowed to wet their beak.
So all of the “allies” could get stronger as long as they remembered their place. And like any pack animal they would only be allowed to feast on the bits that the pack leader allowed them to have.
This mindset of certainty could be seen at multiple points, for instance in the way Pyotr Poroshenko, Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel were happy to admit quite openly and with barely concealed glee that Minsk was just a delaying tactic to allow Ukraine to be armed for the then upcoming war that they themselves were so invested in. And if Putin didn’t wimp out then the sanctions which were ready and waiting would reduce the Ruble to rubble. Check mate.
However with the Russians proving move tenacious than initially thought and with the Ukrainians having lost the bulk of their initial Western supplied arms by late 2022, the requirement for Eastern European and various South American and African countries to hand over remaining stocks of ex-Soviet armament would mean that these countries in order to re-arm would need to purchase US manufactured weaponry. Rather than being a main driver of events I would argue it was a welcome byproduct for the MIC over and above the normal salivating over any war and the potential revenue streams that open as a consequence.

It is true that after the fall of the USSR, the neocons were far more optimistic than they are today. Their goal was to promote American global hegemony far into the future through aggressive US/NATO-enforced foreign policies and wars. Russia’s defeat of the US/NATO proxy war in Ukraine has put the fear of God into the hearts of many neocons, forcing plan b, which could not be discussed in public: Looting the Allies, because they have already been subdued. The system must be fed, and the servants of the Empire will suffice.
Posted by: Ed | Jan 10 2025 17:52 utc | 39

I think this later comment ties in with the main thrust of B’s argument and is something I totally agree with, We are about to witness the looting of the lesser “allies”.
Listening to The Duran a few days ago, Alexander Mercouris proposed that rather than being some kind of illogical outburst, Trumps pronunciations about Greenland and the Gulf of Mexico actually signal a very coherent school of thought and change in direction to one of Spheres of Interest/Control. Trump is beginning to signal to other economies areas within the US’s Sphere of Influence and effectively warning other economies to stay out.
As B says, “… The unilateral moment has ended …”. With its ending isn’t Spheres of Influence/Interest/Control simply another renaming of a Multipolar World?
B’s final statement “… Things did not go as well as planned with the war in Ukraine but the U.S. is still winning from it…. “ I again think is true, but I would go further. The US will be diminished in some ways but will gain from it in the medium term as it plunders the European economy to to consolidate itself after the Ukrainian fiasco. Whilst remaining a big player it will never regain the supremacy it has enjoyed since the 1990s.
Europe as a whole will be damaged but will survive. The main loser will be that loudest of lapdogs – the UK. Having bowed to its own xenophobic tendencies, it removed itself from one of the worlds largest markets on its doorstep.
The Ukraine war was its last gasp attempt to gain riches and try to maintain its relevance. (In truth it lost that relevance a long time ago but will finally have to face it). As the US walks away and Europe licks it wounds those economic chills that the UK is feeling they will no longer be able to ignore. If the US is winning from it (and they are) then severe pneumonia is coming to the coming to the UK.

All Under Heaven @137: “Anyone here wants to predict the future with frightening accuracy? Read the works of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao! Dazzle your friends and family with your powers of prognostication!”
I’d say to skip Stalin as that is just a dogmatic and fossilized paraphrasing of prior Marxist/Leninist thought, and go with reading Trotsky if you are looking for any post-Lenin refinements to reality-based socioeconomic analysis. Mao was a genius and keenly perceptive, but Mao-thought tends towards practical application and is deeply intertwined with Chinese culture and conditions. That is useful if you are studying examples of how to apply Marxist analysis to local circumstances, but Mao didn’t make huge advances in the underlying theory like some of the other thinkers.
Other than that, the post by All Under Heaven is spot on. Lenin’s Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism is a great primer for understanding what is going on in geopolitics right now. It is fairly short and an easy read too, so you don’t have an excuse to skip it. The work is of particular importance for people who insist upon imagining that things like “finance capitalism” are aberrations and somehow not just capitalism in a more developed state. Indeed, “finance capitalism” is the best capitalism there ever was. Criticizing “finance capitalism” is criticizing capitalism at its peak. Going back to capitalism ruled by industrialists, or further back to the capitalism of agricultural landowners, won’t make the world a better place, and in any case would just redevelop back to “finance capitalism” in short order because that is how you maximize productivity and profits.

10 year ended the week at 4.76%
To repeat – at those levels of interest ; 35% of Federal Revenue in FY 2025 will be dedicated to paying interest on Federal Debt. Thats up from 18% in FY 2024 and 2% in 2019.
De-dollarization continues apace.
De-dollarization brings peace.

$US govt received $4.92 trillion in revenue and paid $1.046 trillion in debt service-that is roughly only 21% of revenues in 2024-your idea of 35% in 2025 has not occurred yet and so 35% is way too much in my opinion
Secondly de dollarization in the long term is great but in the short term it may force the Empire into WW3,
1.”With the Federal Reserve holding benchmark rates at their highest in 23 years, the government has laid out $1.049 trillion on debt service, up 30% from the same period a year ago and part of a projected $1.158 trillion in payments for the full year.”(2)

On RT they say that Putin is open to negotiations with Trump.
Poor Putin, begging for negotiations while his soldiers are suffering.
Trump is not a god of peace.

Mexico certainly belongs to the US “sphere of interest” through the manufacturing sector of northern Mexico. “Sphere of influence” is a broader term, it has also civilizational components apart from economical ones. Civilizationally Canada and Groenland are much closer to the US than Mexico because of former protestant backgrounds, the language used and the cleansing of the indigenous populations. In Mexico still some 10 percent identifies as “indio”, as indigenous. Moreover it remains largely catholic, a religion despised by the northern (post puritan) suprematists.

You can add about Mexico that it still is somewhat marked by a developmentalist ideology dating back to the revolution of 1910-20 as opposed to the northern countries where neoliberalism (Reagan etc.) has deep roots.

Avtonom @179: “I think a more libertarian socialism is the only way forward. And contrary to what leninists claim, it can be done.”
What are you talking about? Lenin was absolutely a libertarian. Not for capitalists, of course, but definitely libertarian where the working class was concerned. Kinda like China, which is an incredibly free place so long as you are not a capitalist or a servant of capitalists.
Note: with the permission to reap great wealth comes great responsibility, but capitalists are not known for being at all responsible to the society that generates their wealth, so that responsibility is imposed upon them by the state in China. That’s reasonable, isn’t it?
