— ❗️🇺🇸/🇾🇪 BREAKING: Yemen’s Ansarallah has taken responsibility for shooting down an F/A-18F Super Hornet over the Red Sea
Statement: ‘Our armed forces succeeded in thwarting an American-British attack against our country, as the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and a number of its warships were targeted during the start of the the enemy’s aggression last night against our country.
The operation was carried out with eight cruise missiles and 17 drones.
The operation, with the help of God Almighty, led to the following:
– First: Shooting down an F/A-18F ‘Super Hornet’ jet while the warships were trying to confront the Yemeni drones and missiles.
– Second: Most of the enemy warplanes left Yemeni airspace for international waters in the Red Sea to defend the aircraft carrier while it was being targeted.
– Third: The enemy attack on Yemeni territory failed.
– Fourth: The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman withdrew after being targeted from its previous location towards the northern Red Sea after being subjected to more than one attack by our missile force, our naval forces and the air force.’ r

IDF casualty tally as of Sunday 22/12/2024:
Merkava: 274 destroyed (unchanged), 710 approximate damaged, 1 targeted (unchanged)
Narmer (As of 8/12/2024): 4 (+2)
Other Armoured Vehicle (As of 8/12/2024): 3 destroyed (unchanged), 2 damaged (+2), n/a targeted
Officers (As of 8/12/2024): 53 eliminated (+21)
Bulldozers (As of 8/12/2024): 1 (unchanged)
Weapons Trucks (As of 8/12/2024): 3 (unchanged)
Missile/Drone Strikes on Israel (As of 8/12/2024): 6 (unchanged)
Fighter Jets (as of 22/12/2024) : 1 (friendly fire)
Yemeni attacks on Zionist Shipping (As of 8/12/2024): 0 Destroyed (unconfirmed) damaged 6 targeted.
Commentary:
– It’s been a bloodbath this past week for the IDF terrorists with *at least 20 terminated* in the Gaza strip.
– The missile strike on Tel Aviv seems to have injured up to 20, up from the initially reported 2. Some reports claim 30.
– IDF taking hits on the West Bank: In Silat al-Harithiya, fighters from the Al-Quds Brigades – Jenin Battalion unleashed a relentless attack, deploying anti-personnel and anti-vehicle bombs alongside heavy gunfire, leaving several Israeli soldiers injured and vehicles damaged.
– It’s clear that IDF is still being hit by Hamas and AQB attacks in all the areas the IDF claimed were “cleared”, this puts the lie to the claim that the IDF has eradicated the resistance in these areas.
– IDF Sniper and assistant taken out at close range near Jebaliya camp. Apparently the fighter was then recorded disguising himself as an IDF soldier later on. One wonders how many IDF squads are being infiltrated and struck by Palestinian fighters dressed as IDF …
– AQB mortar attack claimed to have taken out an IDF convoy in Jebaliya. Looking for follow up reports.
– If one takes the American report at face value, an American F-18 seems to have been destroyed by it’s own CSG in the Red Sea indicating the USN is unable to reliably distinguish between Houthi Drones and American aircraft in the same airspace under certain conditions. These conditions represent an exploitable vulnerability by the resistance. However, given that the Americans are champion liars it’s more likely the Houthi took this F-18 down. It’s very hard to accept that the IFF and fire control systems of the CSG failed so badly that the carrier crew took a deliberate decision to shoot down a craft that had barely taken off from the carrier! If indeed the IFF and fire control chain failed in this instance I’d say the USN has much bigger problems on it’s hands …
– “Israeli” force of nine soldiers who had taken shelters inside a house in western Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza. In statements on their official Telegram channel, Al-Qassam said their fighters used a thermobaric explosive, resulting in casualties among the soldiers, with some killed and others injured.
– Hamas destroyed two “Israeli” armored personnel carriers with an explosive device in the Al-Alami area in central Jabalia, and west of Beit Lahia in north Gaza.

I notice that many people say that Russia and Iran abandoned Syria.
Let’s assume that’s true — why does nobody say that about China?
Syrian soldiers were making $20/month. China could have boosted Syria ‘s economy in what would essentially have been a rounding error for them.

They have proven that they have an incompetent ground force, and a capable airpower but only in light of no resistance.
If Iran had any sense, or balls, it would take out the planes, hangars and runways. And that would be the end of Israel’s IDF.

The money is used to prosecute the war and enrich the US MIC.
True economic damage is being done by Yemen’s blocking of sea routes and disruption of normal life by missile attacks and prolonged military service.
The US domestic economy is also suffering from all the money being sent to Israel.

I don’t get why the US is bombing Sanaa.
Sanaa has been constantly bombed for the last decade beginning with the Obama instigation of civil war in Yemen.
The Houthi were driven underground, into the mountains and desert years ago until they eventually took control of Sanaa but never really made Sanaa a base.
All the Zionist-American Empire is achieving is bombing civilian infrastructure there.
Hardly any damage to Ansarallah.

Also, I went back to see if there was an update on RT. There had been a prominent breaking news gong on the initial “friendly fire” report — and the comments were glorious.
Hmm. That article seems to have disappeared and it’s not been replaced by one informing that the Houthis are responsible for this, just as many commentators said.

Why doesn’t the West Bank resistance neuter the Palestinian Authority? The resistance would be much more effective if it could remove the PA monkey from its back. It must be that the resistance is too weak to destroy the PA, which means we can’t expect to see much opposition to Israel from the West Bank.

$36 Trillion in Government Debt, $90 Trillion total Government, Consumer and Corporate Debt. But, but, but…of the $36 Trillion, we owe it to ourselves…well…sort of…$8 Trillion is money the U.S. Government stole from Trust Funds like Social Security, spent the cash and put an “IOU” in the records.
And Trump, doesn’t want any limit to Government Debt, wants to spend to boost the creaky framework of the U.S. Economy. Foreign Wars/U.S. Military over-reach is the biggest bleeder on the American body in the ICU.

Alex Krainer still staying with the analysis that the Syrian army stand-down was planned and that Iran & Russia, also possibly Turkiye, “abandoned” Syria in a strategy similar to US embroiling Russia in Afghanistan in 1979 – 1980s; to Russia’s defeat of Napoleon and Hitler. Krainer is convinced Israel & US stepped into a trap.

cost of plane Houthis shot down: somewhere between $55 million and $73 million. (AI):

The cost of a Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet jet can vary depending on several factors – – – some recent estimates for the cost of a Super Hornet:
2020 flyaway cost: $66 million
2021 purchase price: $73.3 million per aircraft for the Navy’s purchase of 24 F/A-18E/F Super Hornets
2023 price tag: Some say the price tag for the last 20 Super Hornets may have doubled, approaching the cost of an F-35C

Estimates from 2023, however, list the naval strike fighter at $55.7 million.

No problem continung to bomb the crap out of Lebanon and now Yemen. It’s a miracle, I tell you. Wasn’t it just 5 minutes ago they were sobbing over JB pausing half a load of arms until the next news cycle?
As for killing children … in addition to the utilitarian rationale you refer to, Arch, to demonic forces, there’s something “special” about all forms of child sacrifice.
Even if it didn’t further their goal to exterminate a people, child sacrifice is just what they do. They love death. They love the death of children more.

From President Putin’s marathon press conference this week
“What was happening there? When armed opposition groups approached Aleppo, Aleppo was defended by about 30,000 people. 350 militants entered the city. Government troops, and with them the so-called pro-Iranian units, retreated without a fight, blew up their positions and left. And the same thing happened practically throughout Syria, with the exception of a few exceptions where there were some clashes”.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has since responded
https://nournews.ir/ru/news/.
When relations are good, Foreign Ministries do not correct the statements of the other side, and especially do not give “advice” on how to use official channels of communication, etc.
It’s clear to me that under Pezeshkian Russia’s relations with Iran immediately have come to standstill, the ready agreement on the broadest cooperation was first postponed and pushed back to the end of January. Let’s see what is signed if anything then.
In general, Iran clearly wants to change course under Pezeshkian. Iranians are now choosing between war and social explosion, and the hope of somehow reaching an agreement with the West to lift sanctions and stabilize the domestic situation. Somehow, Russia is not on their minds.
The so called Axis of Resistance is dead in a ditch.

The Transitional Council of Yemen (STC), an organization that is at war with the Houthis, that it was time to give the Houthis a slap in the face.
A little background: the Southern Transitional Council (STC) is a separatist movement supported by the Emirates, it advocates for the re-division of Yemen into South and North. After the start of the civil war in Yemen in 2015, the STC was picked up and warmed up by the Emirates and made their proxies. Since 2015, Saudi Arabia has backed the Yemeni government called the Presidential Leadership Council (or PLC). The two movements now control all of former communist South Yemen and
are in a situational alliance against the Iran-backed Houthis.
It looks like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are sending signals to Iran that they are ready to set their proxies on its proxies. If that’s correct were going to find out shortly about Iran’s strength and future course.

I have been speculating that since the Izzies have destroyed Gaza, destroyed themselves, and are now intent on wallowing in a Syrian quagmire eyeball to eyeball with Turkiye and Uncle Sugar, it was thought that there was no need to have them destroy Lebanon too. There was a definite element of multi-party collusion in how Assad was defenestrated, discussed multiple times here, but there is no way to be sure unless some insider decides to speak about it. There does seem to be an element of Putin & Erdogan agreeing that Syria is Turkiye’s area of influence, and a problem for Arabs and muslims to solve. Marat did an article on that.
Geopolitics is a nasty business.

Posted by: Bemildred | Dec 22 2024 20:29 utc | 51
I would amend this to say the thought was “there’s no need to have them destroy Lebanon NOW.”
IZ feels it’s in the catbird seat now, a veritable cornucopia of conquests within reach, and that they have all the time in the world to chow down on Syria while the buffet is still open.
To mix many metaphors, my bad.
But, the reality is IZ thinks Lebanon isn’t going anywhere. They can crush it and annex its land later. Meanwhile, they’re still reducing homes and villages to rubble there. But mostly it’s party time in Syria and IZ has FOMO.

Putin’s comments on Iranian ‘cowardice’ were pretty extraordinary. The same was claimed re the SAA but I find it hard to believe that soldiers from either force are more ‘cowardly’ than middle-aged Ukrainians scooped off the street. The difference is the larger military organization they are part of and its ideological underpinnings. Obviously in the case of Syria something went very wrong with one or both of these aspects which rendered the SAA/PMF rank and file unable to provide meaningful resistance.
Working with the incomplete information we have to hand, it would appear that Russia decided not to provide the command and control and air cover components required to stop the Jihadi advance. The establishment of a unified command under Russian supervision similar to that provided by NATO in the early years of the Syrian dirty war, and the provision of air cover for PMF and/or Iranian reinforcements against US/Turkish/Israeli air strikes should have been enough to preserve the Syrian state. There were significant risks with such a commitment from Russia, which appeared instead to defer to Turkey and allow the PMF reinforcements to be destroyed by A-10s and the SAA command to disintegrate.
We can argue about the relative risk and rewards of paths taken or not taken, but we shouldn’t speak of cowardice at the level of the soldiers on the ground, especially from the top military/political leadership where the buck stops.

That Which Can Be Destroyed By The Truth, Should Be
The more power you have the more transparency should be required of you, and the less power you have the more secrecy you should be shielded with.
“That which can be destroyed by the truth, should be.”
This is a line by fantasy author PC Hodgell, though it’s often misattributed to Carl Sagan.
I think about this quote a lot.
I think about it when reflecting on the way Israel is exterminating Palestinian journalists in Gaza while keeping western journalists out of the enclave to prevent the world from learning the truth about what the IDF is doing there.
I think about it when reflecting on the mountains of government secrecy with which the western empire protects its information interests, imprisoning whistleblowers and persecuting journalists who try to expose the truth about its criminal actions around the world……

It would not surprise me if the usual suspects were fomenting a coup in Iran. It would seem there is an internal struggle between the ‘Atlanticists’ and the theocracy / IRGC. I maintain that to maintain its effective safety net Iran should have acted immediately and decisively to protect the Lebanon / Hezbollah. Now Hezbollah has been seriously diminished in power. Iran may be still powerful but it is now far more vulnerable. China kind of chickened out. All those ‘optics’ joint exercises with masses of warships alongside Russia and Iran amounted to jack shit. I know i know ‘long game’ yada yada. The only country worth its salt, that walks the walk, Russia. Although it must be said, historically the Brits can be a fairly prickly resilient lot. The Turks too.

Alex Christophorou on his daily report claims the ‘friendly fire’ F-18 incident involved a US guided missile.
Hard to believe a guided missile strike by an American carrier would leave the pilots alive and capable of ejecting.
The friendly fire story sounds less plausible the longer I hear it.

In the waters of the Red Sea so wide,
Two brave pilots took a curious ride.
Their jet, an F-18, soared through the sky,
But a tale was spun about a “friendly” goodbye.
“Oh dear, oh dear,” the officials did say,
As they crafted a story to keep truth at bay.
With blinking lights and beeping sounds,
They claimed confusion all around.
“Who could have guessed?” they did declare,
“The Houthis launched with precision and care!
A cruiser they said, fired not at foe,
Yet another thread to this curious show.
But whispers spread of a missile’s flight,
A Houthi arrow in the night.
The Truman’s deck heard tales anew,
As truth and fiction tangled and grew.
“Ejected pilots waved from the sea,
A fortunate pair, alive and free.
With a Houthi mark upon their tale,
A cover-up tried, yet truth might prevail.
“Next time let’s ensure stories align,
And grant due credit to the skillful design.
For in our battles, both near and far,
Let’s not obscure who the true foes are!”
So here’s to clarity over guise,
And honoring truth with open eyes.
Let heroes fly safe, their paths precise,
Above the sea where the truth should suffice.

I’ve finally found a use for ChatGPT.

I’m sure Iran is shaking in their boots, as the USReal decides to “orchestrate” the closure of the Hormuz Straight, leading to oil at $300 a barrel, collapsing the global economy & a totally destroyed USReal in the ME.
The Ansarallah demonstration that sent the US packing is child’s play compared to a full on assault that all resistance groups would unify and exact against a strike against Iran.
There is a reason (many actually) USReal has never perpetuated a full frontal assault, even today.
Nope, they’ll continue with their terrorism, assassinations and dreams of “regime change”. Even if US and USReal were feeling all mighty and powerful by the recent Syrian tragedy, I’m certain the Yemen strike has brought them down a notch or two from feeling too frisky about future adventures. If not, and they bomb away, it certainly would be a bloody affair. Lots of USReal body bags going back to the US.

Posted by: Trubind1 | Dec 23 2024 1:43 utc | 73

I think most people miss the reality about US “diplomacy”. In general, the US does not and cannot do major diplomacy. This is why Blinken jets around the world, accomplishing nothing and looking persistently depressed. The US wants to bark orders to subservient nations, not make equitable deals. Trump must be made to look bad and Neo Cons have free access to the media to plant stories about “intelligence sources” who say he’s a traitor or under foreign influence. It’s a sort of lower level false flag.
Iran can fantasize all it wants but the truth is, the US as dominated by the Israeli Lobby would never be satisfied unless Iran is broken up into feeble pieces. Like Libya. Like Syria. And largely like a disunited Iraq. That’s the only way they will reliably be no threat to Zionists. Iran will never be completely accepted by the West or secure because of some treaty with the US – that can be tossed away in a heartbeat.
And Russia? The same. It must lose and be broken into weak, irrelevant pieces who can never challenge the West. If you doubt this underlying purpose, take a hard look at Britain. They have an obsessive hatred for Russia that is a tradition going back centuries. Britain has a shrinking military, a declining economy, poor productivity, social decay, fading freedoms and freezing pensioners. None of that discourages them from sacrificing to fight Russia as a priority.
The West has had abundant opportunities to make a friend out of Russia in years past – and they rejected that zealously. No EU, no NATO, no security agreements. It’s just hate with an overlay of appearing ‘moderate’ or ‘reasonable’. I think Putin realizes this by now – and Iran’s situation is the same. Diplomacy isn’t going to happen – or if it ‘did’, it would be utterly fake.

Clarification of Lavieja 70.
Hugh 39 recounts Putin said in response to a question about Syria, “What was happening there? When armed opposition groups approached Aleppo, Aleppo was defended by about 30,000 people. 350 militants entered the city. Government troops, and with them the so-called pro-Iranian units, retreated without a fight, blew up their positions and left. And the same thing happened practically throughout Syria, with the exception of a few exceptions where there were some clashes.” It sounds like Iran has taken exception to this, but I haven’t found an Iranian statement on it (the link Hugh gives doesn’t work).
Another poster has mentioned disagreements between Iran and Russia.
Currently, Reading Indian Punchline article, I got the impression HTS might make deals both with the US/Israel and Russia. IMO, such rappproachment in Syria between the 2 supers could include Russia letting go of agreement with Iran for gain with Trump of ending Ukraine SMO. Maybe the Russian population is getting tired of the SMO.

18 million? Honestly it makes no sense. It sounds like it was either a non-existent shell company for money laundering, or an agreement with Musk for takeover. Most likely Israel either stole or never owned the patents.
They literally had billions of dollars for start up, and Amazon & Maersk investors, so 14 months or occasional disruptions & bellying up over 18 million debt? Nah, guessing was never anything other than a U.S. laundry mat.
How inconvenient, USReal losing its percentage as US finds safer laundry mat. At least that’s something, I agree.

“It sounds like Iran has taken exception to this, but I haven’t found an Iranian statement on it”
The reason why Iran has not taken “exception” to this is because you misinterpreted Putin’s statement. Iran did not.
He said:
“Government troops, and with them, the “so-called”(meaning “hear-say”-according to the government troops)
Pro-Iranian troops, retreated without a fight”…
Putin was saying, the reports were all BS.
I’ve my reservations regarding Iran/Russia affairs/relationship. But acknowledge they are both wholly sovereigns acting in their own interests, but neither of these actors have knives pointed at each others backs.
I’m just not certain they’re aligned in objectives, and frankly, it’s simply not possible due to geography alone.
Although they both certainly share hostile Nations on every side of them both, that’s a commonality for sure.

Nice idea that about Putin being “the best of the worst”, because Russia definitely sold Syria out. There is no way out of the blue Hezbollah suddenly goes and quits one day and then the next day out of the blue the whole of Syria goes and quits as well. There were definitely deals made behind the scene. Even Pepe Escobar was hinting about this in a YouTube video lately.
The Syria Arab Army (SAA) are just low IQ’s who will do what they are told, they will go with the flow so to speak, just like your average Ukie. No concept of self-initiative. So the SAA could have been told to stand and fight, but instead they were told to drop their weapons and run. Now of course Russia, which was doing the funny deals behind the scenes, is trying to blame the Syrians and Iranians for the whole debacle. Russians can fight, Russians can’t do deals and negotiations or soft power, its beyond their ken. What is worse is that Russia now done deals with the Turks, of all people. And as Putin has said, Israel has benefited the most.
One day we’ll hopefully find out what deals Russia was doing with the devil.

The killing started going up parabolically as they destroyed Palestine’s water and health facilities.
