Pope Francis calls for investigation to determine if Israel’s attacks in Gaza constitute ‘genocide’”

“ROME (AP) — Pope Francis has called for an investigation to determine if Israel’s attacks in Gaza constitute genocide, according to excerpts released Sunday from an upcoming ***new book ahead of the pontiff’s jubilee year.”

Highlights:

“The book, by Hernán Reyes Alcaide and based on interviews with the Pope, is entitled “Hope never disappoints. Pilgrims towards a better world.” It will be released on Tuesday ahead of the pope’s 2025 jubilee. Francis’ yearlong jubilee is expected to bring more than 30 million pilgrims to Rome to celebrate the Holy Year”.

Pope uses “genocide” in Gaza to pimp his new book out.

Shows I haven’t “seen it all” yet.

Not just the ICJ stated plausible, but the current UNHRW (who investigated) concluded “genocide”.

As a World Leader, and a religious World Leader, he doesn’t get a pass to be willingly ignorant. He has the power, prestige, people and money to conduct his “own investigation” receive a report & come to a conclusion in one week if he wanted TRUTH. Which he already knows frankly.

"While the Catholic Church has apologized for various other events throughout history, there is no specific apology for the genocide of the Cathars. However, in 2016, Bishop Jean-Marc Eychenne offered a formal apology for the suffering endured by the Cathars, who were denounced as a heretical sect and faced violence, execution, and persecution from the Inquisition"

The Cathars are considered the most radical and revolutionary Christian sect in history. In fact, the Roman Catholic Church invented the Great Inquisition to stamp out the Cathars as they were the greatest threat that, up to that time, had ever been posed to the Roman Catholic Church. Simon de Montfort led the royal army to the South of France on behalf of the king and church. When asked how to distinguish Cathars from Catholics at the first military engagement at Béziers he famously answered, “kill them all, God will recognize his”.

The Cathars were a religious sect of obscure origin which arose in the Middle Ages and thrived in what is now considered Southern France. They called themselves Cathars, taking their name from the Greek word for “pure”. In every sense, the Cathars were pacifists.

After a papal legate was allegedly murdered by a Cathar, the King of France launched a so-called “crusade” against them, using it as a cover for territorial acquisition. The fact is that we have not so much as a hint in the historical record that the papal legate was killed by a Cathar. No one was ever charged with or tried for his murder.

From 1208, the Church continued to wage a war of terror against the indigenous population of the Languedoc and their rulers. During this period an estimated half-million Languedoc men, women and children were massacred, Catholics as well as Cathars. The Crusaders killed the locals indiscriminately.

How was the Cathar religion so different than the Catholic religion? The Cathars did not believe Jesus died on the cross. Cathars largely regarded men and women as equals. Cathars believed in reincarnation and refused to eat meat or other animal products. They were strict about biblical injunctions - notably those about living in poverty, not telling lies, not killing and not swearing oaths. They respected nature and all living things, held their ceremonies in grottoes and open spaces and didn't believe in material possessions. As Dualists, Cathars believed in two principles, a good god and his evil adversary (much like God and Satan of mainstream Christianity). The good principle had created everything immaterial (good, permanent, immutable) while the bad principle had created everything material (bad, temporary, perishable). Cathars called themselves simply Christians; their neighbors distinguished them as "Good Christians". The Catholic Church called them Albigenses, or less frequently, Cathars.

Meanwhile, the Catholic religion was gaining power through murder, greed and building churches, amassing wealth and dressing in fine materials and jewelry. The Crusades against the Cathars resulted in the genocide of all Cathar.

My understanding, albeit simplistic is that the reason the Cathars were systematically tracked down and massacred is that they rejected the Old Testament Bible and followed the New Testament. It was a Catholic Pope who instigated the genocide of a beautiful, peace loving people. All that demiurge stuff is beside the point. They were murdered for not obeying the dictator pope of the time.
Which came first, Jewish or Christian Zionism? It could be that they are the same.
Palestinians are being murdered for not obeying as well in a modern way.

From Gilbert Doctorow the other day, talking to the Judge...
Doctorow claims the Russians are helping the Houthis with their targeting of US ships via Russian satellite systems; he also claims that the Russians have given Iran the S-400 air defense systems - some very advanced technology.

https://gilbertdoctorow.com/2024/11/15/transcript-of-judging-freedom-14-november-2024/

Doctorow: "....But then there are things that are going on that nobody talks about. And so I’ll just throw something out here, which I don’t think you’ve heard. We all watched yesterday when the Houthis claimed, to have attacked the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and its escort ships in the Red Sea.

And they said they used a variety, a combination of drones and hypersonic ballistic missiles. The United States, the Pentagon spokesman, acknowledged there was such an attack, and then listen to what he said. He said, “We knocked down all their drones.” He didn’t say they knocked down the ballistic missiles. So– and the next thing we hear is the Abraham Lincoln is headed back to San Diego.

So I think that perhaps the Houthis did some damage to the aircraft carrier. And we can imagine, since they named the missile this Palestine II, we assume it was provided to them by Iran. But nobody is talking about something else. Who provided the targeting, the satellite information necessary to have precise targeting?....."

....Napolitano: Right, so as I understand it, Professor Doctorow, the Houthis, with the aid of the Russians, did enough damage to the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, an American aircraft carrier, that it had to get out of there and go back to the United States. And the Western press hasn’t covered this.

Doctorow: Precisely......

https://forensic-architecture.org/investigation/a-cartography-of-genocide
https://gaza.forensic-architecture.org/database

"The Cartography of Genocide platform documents in unprecedented detail the extent and character of Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

The platform compiles evidence of thousands of acts of violence, destruction, or obstruction committed by the Israeli military against all aspects of civilian life in Gaza, including attacks on shelters, hospitals, universities, schools, cemeteries, archaeological sites, mosques and churches, fields and orchards, greenhouses, water wells, bakeries, and aid distribution. It also records Israel’s abuse of humanitarian measures such as evacuation orders and ‘safe zones’ as tools of population displacement.

But individual military actions must be understood as interrelated; sequential or concurrent acts of destruction or displacement may generate an accumulating effect, with every action aggravating the impact of another. Uniquely, this platform invites you to explore those compound impacts by combining and overlaying multiple datasets, including the cumulative destruction of Gaza’s agricultural land, to the day-by-day progress of Israel’s ground invasion, to attacks on aid distribution and a new system of ‘spatial control’ across the region.

Together, these datasets paint a comprehensive picture of more than a year of military assault on the fabric of civilian life in the Gaza Strip."

IDF Officer and His Cell Phone – Resistance Roundup – Day 408

…If an Israeli soldier is unable to leave his hiding place for more than few seconds, would Israel ever be able to control Gaza?

It seemed as if it was a lapse of judgment. The Israeli officer ventured out briefly from his hiding place inside a Palestinian building in the Khazindar area northwest of Gaza City.

The officer stood behind a concrete pillar, only part of his body exposed. He picked up his cell phone, he looked at the screen. He either received a call or was about to make one.

Within that precise moment, his brain wondered, he stepped a foot or two, exposing his full body to the Palestinian sniper who had been patiently waiting on the other side.

Now in full view, the Palestinian resistance bullet penetrated his body. He immediately collapsed.

This was one of many scenes that emerged from the Palestinian resistance in Gaza in the last two days, where Merkavas were blown up, bulldozers set ablaze, and Nemer personnel carriers shattered.

Yet, this particular scene is of great importance. The Israeli army keeps talking about tactical victories in Gaza and the right-wing extremist government of Benjamin Netanyahu is discussing the future of Gaza after the war.

However, a pressing question remains: if an Israeli soldier is unable to leave his hiding place for more than few seconds, would Israel ever be able to control Gaza?

Below are the latest statements by the two main Resistance forces in Gaza, and the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah.

My position on apologies by the Catholic church is that "it's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission".

In other words, it's a scam that allows one to commit any atrocity any number of times as long as one is careful to apologise regularly.

I live basically in the buckle of the Bible Belt in the US.

Wherever I go I post stop the genocide, free Palestine stickers. They have a special adhesive where you have to destroy the surface to scrape them off.

I love going to places I’ve already been and seeing they destroyed the wall or divider to remove them. I then take great joy in placing another 20 or 30.

I actually got caught at one location by an employee. He put his finger to his lips, smiled, and held the door for me to leave.

This gave me some hope.

The battle is won one mind at a time.

Many analysts argue that #Israel is "negotiating a ceasefire under fire."

I can't entirely agree with this theory. The resistance operates with a mindset where every individual is, in a sense, expendable, and no single figure wields decisive influence over whether a ceasefire is accepted or not.

Decisions are driven by broader strategic objectives rather than the fate of specific individuals or isolated events.

#Israel has already devastated much of the property belonging to Lebanese Shiites, leaving the resistance with little to lose. In this context, the resistance's calculations are less constrained by material losses.

Moreover, if Israel were to escalate by targeting displaced Shiite civilians, the consequences for Israeli civilians in Haifa and other cities would be severe. Hezbollah’s arsenal of drones and rockets, capable of evading Israel's missile interception systems, serves as a potent deterrent, indirectly offering a measure of protection to Lebanese civilians.

Ultimately, the trajectory of the ceasefire will not hinge on diplomatic theories or speculative analyses but rather on the outcomes achieved on the battlefield. The resistance’s ability to sustain pressure and impose costs on Israel will likely be the determining factor in shaping any potential agreement.

Well, he’s expressing a thought on ISR. Or another source is China, directly from their Djibouti base, who also has very sophisticated satellites as well.

Frankly, China has more reason to be helpful to the resistance than Russia, but I rather see a collaborative effort, like the 5 eyes thing, going on here. Satellite & data sharing, China, Iran, N.Korea & Russia, with lesser known allies as well. Hezbollah is getting razor sharp images from their drones and many other technologies that are shared with the resistance group(s) and also, the resistance group’s are very clever, coming up with many makeshift weapons, both offensive and defensive at low cost, easy to assemble offensive weapons that these countries are benefiting from their “field” experience use.

China is the “silent” partner. But a partner nonetheless.
Just my opinion. China is helping much more than is recognized, there is a lot at stake here for them.

Can you imagine Christianity without the Old Testament Bible?
It was worth genocide for that not to happen.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Piotr Berman, the key point is this: "According to Catholics, the origin of Cathars was early gnostics." Marcion was the first "Christian" to bring this issue into the Christian domain. According to Marcion, Paul is the author of the two God theories. But what difference does that make? The God of the Catholic church is obviously evil, even to this day, apparently, just as the Zionists are also evil from Old Testament biblical times if we believe all that trash. [Ed].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcion was active in the 130s and 140s. In 139, he came to Rome to join the Christian community. He apparently was booted out about five years later when the church leaders found his forcefully proclaimed views unacceptable. He then traveled around Asia Minor (from Sinope on the southern coast of the Black Sea), establishing churches. He held popular views that attracted many followers.

Marcion and his followers believed that Jesus — whom they considered their Lord and Savior — was not connected with Judaism. (That seems weird to us because in the Gospels, he absolutely is, but keep reading: Marcion didn’t have our Gospels).

Jesus had nothing to do with the Law since he represented a different God from the one who gave the Law. The Law was given by the Creator of this world, who called Israel to be his people and then judged them, and all people, harshly for not obeying his law, leading to universal condemnation. Jesus came from a different God, a previously unknown God, who was not the God of the Old Testament, but a higher spiritual being who intervened on behalf of people to save them from the wrath of the Creator.

We would love to know many things about Marcion’s belief system, but we do not. The main reason is that Marcion’s own writings have not been passed down to us from antiquity. That should not be a huge surprise. Other Christians considered Marcion to be an arch-heretic, an evil representative of the Devil who came to deceive the faithful. They censored his writings and simply refused to copy them. That was the easiest way to destroy books in antiquity. You didn’t have to have a public book burning. If you simply didn’t copy a book, it wouldn’t survive.

We know of two books by Marcion. The first was his own composition, the Antitheses: This book appears to have starkly contrasted the differences between the God of the Jews, who gave the Law, and the previously unknown God of Jesus, who provided salvation. Marcion claims he learned of this contrast from the writings of the apostle Paul, his hero, who did indeed differentiate between his “gospel” and the law.

His second book was his canon of Scripture, an edited collection of ten of Paul’s letters and a version of the Gospel of Luke; we don’t have either writing today.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Without Marcion, we may not have had the Gospel of Luke or most of Paul's epistles, even though some are forgeries. Oops, I meant “pseudodepigrapha.” [Ed.]

This discussion was lifted from Forged—A BooK by Bart D Ehrman and edited for clarity and brevity.

Ideas cannot be extinguished by genocide. Many centuries before Hitler , Martin Luther was vehemently antisemitic. Hitler's persecution of Jews led to some Jews being sent to colonise Palestine, while the Ukrainian Revisionist Zionists fled to the US and became today's Neocons.

Netanyahu , their spiritual heir, is greatly mistaken if he and his fellow genociders, including the Catholic Pope, all of USUKIS, and anybody else, think they will extinguish the ideas of the people of Sham. They will travel, settle, propagate and return with a vengeance further down the road.

Ben & Jerry’s has sued its parent company Unilever accusing it of silencing the ice cream maker from making statements in support of Palestinians in the Gaza war.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in federal court in New York, says the multinational conglomerate has failed to adhere to its contractual obligations with Ben & Jerry’s by threatening to dismantle the company’s independent board, sue board members, intimidate personnel and censor the company “from publicly voicing support for peace and refugee rights,” the lawsuit states.

London-based Unilever said in a statement that it rejects the claims made by Ben & Jerry’s social mission board. “We will defend our case very strongly,” it said.

Unilever acquired Ben & Jerry’s, a longtime supporter of progressive social causes, in 2000 but distanced itself from the ice cream maker’s decision in 2021 to halt sales in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank and contested east Jerusalem.

When Ben & Jerry’s was sold, the companies agreed that the ice cream maker’s independent board would be free to pursue its social mission, including longstanding support for liberal causes on such things as racial justice, climate action, LGBTQ rights and campaign finance reform. But Unilever would have the final word on financial and operational decisions.

Drop Site
@DropSiteNews
Journalist and Drop Site contributor @AbubakerAbedW
explained to @ryangrim
last week that Israel has armed certain gangs in Gaza, enabling them to hijack aid shipments and resell the stolen supplies at exorbitant prices. These gangs, he reported, operate under the protection of Israeli quadcopters.

Abed emphasized that Israel has systematically targeted and killed civilian local security forces responsible for safeguarding aid. However, he noted, these officers “are not Hamas.” By eliminating them and enabling gangs to create chaos, Israel shifts blame for aid disruptions onto the resulting disorder. In reality, it is Israel’s actions that are directly undermining aid distribution efforts.

Upping the ante:

Examining the meeting with Iran & Syria, forming a “coalition” of sorts, prepping for ME war. Russia openly stated after Kursk attack they would be supplying weapons to their allies, and many believe they did so with Yemen.

Today, it appears even more may be coming:

Re: Egypt

The border is not porous. There are plenty of volunteers among the 2 million population within Gaza. Rumors are the resistance is overwhelmed with local volunteers.

The weapons Al-Qassem et.al. uses are homemade in their underground workshops. The resistance also captures a fair amount of weapons from the IDF. The explosives are taken from the beaucoup unexploded IDF bombs - return to sender as it were.

The narrative that the Lebanese and Palestinians are unable to produce their own weapons and produce their own soldiers is racist projection on the part of the Likud.

Thanks Exile.
I read last weekend, Egyptian volunteers were making it to Gaza. I forget where. I read widely. It doesn't sound very likely though. I suppose it's possible there are still tunnels operating the izzys don't know about?
Of course i'm well aware of the amazing recycling skills of the Palestinians. A master class in colonial resistance unmatched in history.

This is the Palestine Open Thread.

Can people be so considerate and respectful to take their discussions on ALL other topics to the open Open thread.

It's also very unfair to those who are focused on Palestine to have to constantly go through massive posts that do not directly belong to the Palestine issue or endless repetitions of directly unrelated topics.

Was a thoughtful, well made video. It made me consider “dispersion” on a global scale and its consequences. The last mass exodus “war on (of) terror” 2003 campaign & its expulsions.

Laith also raised caution of possibility of mass arrests as “global Zionism” exports in a fascist colonial rage.

- The level of American optimism about reaching a ceasefire is the highest in a year
- We have comments on a clause in the American draft about "Israel's" right to self-defense"

Prime Minister Netanyahu said he does not believe that a settlement in Lebanon will be applicable, as he demands freedom of action for the army and preventing the entry of weapons from Syria, which is not in agreement with the mediators, and which was supported by the members of the Knesset in the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee in the Knesset."

"Axios website, citing an American official:

The American envoy informed the Lebanese Parliament Speaker that he would suspend his visit to Beirut until Lebanon's position on the agreement becomes clear.

The ball is in Lebanon's court and we are waiting for clear positions before Hochstein heads to the region."

The tears and smiles almost lost their meaning, while today is the same as tomorrow. I just want to make this small gesture of recognition...

https://textosandroides.blogspot.com/2024/11/gracias-palestina.html

Thank you Palestine. Thank you for carrying on your shoulders the last battle for human consciousness.

Thank you for your endless, immense love for the land.

Thank you for your unwavering tenacity.

Thank you for your irredeemable and permanent rebellion, for your rebellious and stubborn, desperate joy, for the immeasurable effort to give a song to your little children in the middle of the air full of smoke and dust of the daily massacre, of thirst and heat, of hunger and cold.

Thank you for a tender caress and a contagious and haughty smile under the bombs and bullets of the cruelest empires on earth and their decadent and arrogant, poorly trained fighting dogs.

Thank you for the solidarity and total cooperation, for maintaining the firmness of not letting anyone fall, of not letting go, even if it is through a laborious glass of water, a careful collection of human remains among the rubble or the insulting disorder of mass graves, to be dignifiedly, humanely identified and buried.

Thank you for a strong look that accompanies, for a kind gesture in the midst of desolation and lack, the sentence of death, unforgivable and renewed.

Thank you! Without a doubt, thank you, because it is the last battle. The last battle on the territory of this planet.

That is why they have so many bombs and so many bullets... Because they would like, they try to give, the final example of the consequences of walking towards freedom and human self-determination, of a people, of each person, of each living being, of the human race.

There will be no second chances, it is today. If in the face of this we do not fight against every injustice and every arbitrariness on the planet, against every pimp and abuser, against every slave trader or drug trafficker, against every corrupt person comfortably institutionalized in an office, whether politician or policeman, businessman or lawyer.

If we let the violence of the teacher, worker or foreman, of the journalist, of the adolescent flow, without giving a creative response, without trying to forge another path towards human coexistence, there will be no other path than the one that leads to violence and massacre, because everything will be justified through the omission of our responsibilities as members of the society to which we must contribute our grain of sand of coherence and love, of freedom and peace, today, not tomorrow.

If we look at it for two thousand more years, two more days, the falsifiers of history will fill us with pillows to rest on, with cheap and vulgar entertainment, with the false and submissive adrenaline of a slave excited by the whip.

But the imperial whip does not fall only on Palestine and its tragic and beautiful, heroic and sad deed, but it looms over all of us at the same time, and all over the planet they fall by the thousands, murdered. Every day.

How many persecuted and harassed people on the verge of surrender stopped crying from impotence and rage, to fight again? How many, faced with the incredible bravery of a boy, a girl, who even knowing that today or tomorrow they will be dead, does not give in to the tanks and shrapnel, does not surrender under the growing swarm of snipers and their bullets?

How many discouraged, evicted people, across the planet, have recovered their dignity and determination in the face of the admirable spectacle of warriors dying of hunger and thirst without ceasing to carry their weapons, without hoarding anything, without imposing themselves or stepping on those who wait in the shadow of mountains of rubble, of demolished walls that until yesterday were their homes.
How many new stories are being set in motion. How much turmoil is coming to the world, how much struggle against the tyranny of propaganda, of news and algorithms, of the CEOs of ruthless corporations, of the poisoners of every gram of air we breathe, of every sip of water and every bite we fight to bring to our mouths.

How much can we do today, now, around us, and take a stand for ourselves as living beings, not accepting any more the submission and total control to which they want to accustom us twenty-four hours a day?

How much grotesque accumulation will we celebrate, as if every millionaire who bribes and vandalizes the common environment were a hero, only to waste in a second what thousands and thousands of people lack?

When will we stop admiring despots and arrogant people, when will we step outside of that script that they make us memorize every day through thousands of endless screens?

It is time to cultivate the good examples we receive. It is time to take the phone away from our little children to give them the long-awaited caress of our presence and our time. It is time to tell them the story, before going to sleep, that dad and mom will wake up early tomorrow to restore the world, to make it better.

It is time to fight for the tenderness and unbreakable gentleness that feeds the love that saves us from dying curled up in a foreign trench. To walk, to go outside the eternal box, to look at the real world that bleeds and smokes, the new world that sprouts with the few rays of the sun that they leave us...

Interesting updates and article regarding Lebanon:

https://www.bignewsnetwork.com/news/274766661/lebanon-to-file-complaint-to-unsc-over-israeli-attacks-on-army

“Lebanon to file complaint to UNSC over Israeli attacks on army.”

Highlights:

1) “Lebanon stressed that "targeting the army undermines international efforts to implement resolution 1701" and "ensuring the army's security and supporting it to carry out all its tasks is an urgent necessity to enhance security on the Lebanese borders," the statement said.”

“The latest Israeli attack has brought the death toll among Lebanese ***army ranks to 36 since the beginning of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict on Oct. 8, 2023.”

2). “Also on Monday, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed the decision by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to grant** 34 Lebanese cultural properties ***enhanced protection***amid the ongoing conflict.”

(?) (how are grants & enhanced protection executed?)

3) …”34 Lebanese cultural properties on the International List of Cultural Property under Enhanced Protection.”

"Non-compliance with these clauses would constitute 'serious violations' of the 1954 Hague Convention and would constitute potential grounds for prosecution," the statement said.

Obviously USReal could care a less, however, charges are piling up, and many interested parties who don’t give a hang about the genocide, but have wealth & influence & do care about historical sites will start ranting & raving soon. USReal continues their arrogance as the future of obvious collapse continues.

And obviously, Lebanon told USReal to take their threats and shove them.
Guessing bombings will get even worse, maybe by sea even soon. These are terrorist West ways.

https://electronicintifada.net/content/israeli-attacks-leading-increase-birth-defects/49866

Birth defects are a possible indicator of depleted uranium "bunker buster" bombs. The particulate from this ordnance will create health hazards that are long lasting and significant to all humans who inhabit the environment where they are used including Israelis. We can expect "gulf war syndrome" to effect IDF personnel in addition to rampant PTSD. Just another indicator that nutty and company care not about consequences for anyone including Israelis. Everything they do is Hamas fault they have no personal responsibility as they destroy Israels chances of existing amongst other things as they pursue the genocide. Only pursuing the genocide is important to nutty and company.

What exactly is Israel using in Gaza and Lebanon? Will the results of testing soil samples by the EU get hushed up like the tests the Lebanese government did? Inhaled particulate will cause many casualties over many years. I suspect Israel is implementing things that will cause harm regardless of outcomes. Wasteland.
A genocide insurance policy.

Mohd Javad Larijani in an interview said that reports of Iran being able to produce a nuclear warhead in 48 hrs is not wrong. In fact, he declared that Iran can produce a nuclear warhead within 24 hrs.

If this is true, then Iran has everything set up ready to go.

Does not ring true when you consider IAEA has already been invited back and recent statements about not pursuing nukes.

….Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a Yassin 105 shell in the center of the city of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Al-Qassam fighters were reportedly able to target an Israeli infantry force, consisting of 12 soldiers, with an anti-personnel missile.

The group announced that it had destroyed an Israeli military vehicle penetrating the Atatra area, west of Beit Lahiya, by detonating a high-explosive barrel bomb that had been planted in advance.

The Al-Quds Brigades, according to a statement, shelled a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers stationed at the Palestinian-Egyptian border, south of Rafah.

....West Bank-based Al-Haq, which documents alleged rights violations by Israel and the Palestinian Authority, is taking legal action against Britain's Department for Business and Trade at London's High Court.

Israel has been accused of violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza war, with the U.N. Human Rights Office saying nearly 70% of fatalities it has verified were women and children, a report Israel rejected.

.....Al-Haq's case comes after Britain in September suspended 30 of 350 arms export licences, though it exempted the indirect export of F-35 parts, citing the impact on the global F-35 programme.

Al-Haq argues that decision was unlawful as there is a clear risk F-35s could be used in breach of international humanitarian law.....

NY Times killed investigation of Israeli hooligans, internal email reveals

The New York Times has killed an investigation by one of its own reporters into Israeli mob violence in Amsterdam earlier this month.

In an internal Times email inadvertently shared with The Electronic Intifada, Dutch reporter Christiaan Triebert explained to a manager that he had pitched “a visual investigation I was conducting into the events of [6-8 November] in Amsterdam.”

“Unfortunately, that story was killed,” he wrote. “I regret that the planned moment-by-moment visual investigation was not further pursued.”

“This has been very frustrating, to say the least,” Triebert wrote.

The email was addressed to senior Times manager Charlie Stadtlander – a former senior press officer for the US National Security Agency and for the US army.

Triebert appeared interested in carrying out reporting that would set the record straight, remediating the false narrative insistently advanced by his own newspaper – that the Israeli fans were victims of mob violence motivated by anti-Jewish hatred.

The correspondence between Triebert and Stadtlander on Friday was triggered by The Electronic Intifada’s requests for comment to The Times regarding the paper’s highly misleading reporting of Israeli mob violence in Amsterdam.

Gaza’s interior ministry operation kills 20 in crackdown on aid looters

Gaza’s interior ministry reported on Monday that at least 20 people were killed in an operation targeting “gangs” accused of looting United Nations aid trucks in the famine-stricken territory, where an Israeli blockade has severely restricted most goods and services.

The ministry stated, “More than 20 members of gangs involved in stealing aid trucks were killed in a security operation carried out by security forces in cooperation with tribal committees.”

It added, “Today’s security operation will not be the last. The phenomenon of truck thefts… has severely impacted society and led to signs of famine in southern Gaza.”

The ministry described the operation as “the beginning of a broad security campaign that has been long planned and will expand to include everyone involved in the theft of aid trucks.”

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric confirmed in a press briefing that only 11 of the 109 trucks in the convoy reached their destination.

Top genocide scholar calls Starmer and Lammy ‘hypocrites’ over Gaza stance
Published date: 18 November 2024 17:58 GMT | Last update: 4 mins 1 sec ago

One of the world’s leading scholars on genocide, William Schabas, on Monday denounced British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy for refusing to label Israel's actions in Gaza as genocide.

“These people are hypocrites. They speak with a forked tongue. They do not interpret or apply the Genocide Convention in a consistent manner,” Schabas, a Canadian academic specialising in international criminal and human rights law, told Middle East Eye.

“The statements of British parliamentarians vary depending upon whether they are referring to their friends or their enemies,” said Schabas, who is the former president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars and the author of more than 20 books on genocide and other international law topics.

Last week, Starmer was asked to share his definition of genocide and to outline what action he was taking to save the lives of people in Gaza.

In response, he said he was "well aware of the definition of genocide" and that this explains why he has "never described or referred to [the situation in Gaza] as genocide".

If I recall correctly, Lebanon counts on US money to survive, and don't they basically have only an "acting" government?

In any case, look at this shameful stance from their prime minister:

---------------

During the recent meeting between Ayatollah Khamenei's senior advisor Ali Larijani and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Larijani offered that Iran send all the winter supplies the displaced people need via Beirut airport and asked Mikati to allow the Iranian plane carrying the aid to land at Beirut airport and be inspected by Lebanon...

Mikati rejected the Iranian offer for fear of America's reaction. Larijani suggested that Iran send this aid by sea, but Mikati also refused.

Larijani suggested that Iran send the money needed to meet these needs, but Mikati also rejected this proposal under the pretext of Western sanctions on Iran.

In order not to embarrass Mikati, Larijani offered to send Iranian aid via Turkey and on Turkish planes.

Mikati also rejected this proposal. Mikati therefore preferred not to receive the aid coming from Iran to the displaced people so as not to anger America.

CHILDREN STRIPPED DOWN BY ISRAELI SOLDIERS.

The israeli occupation forces stripped children down in Al-Qarara area in central Gaza.

Residents were threatened with rifles, forcing them to leave whilst the children were being stripped.

Zionism is a sick society.

Journalist Suhaib Al-Masalma

"IAEA Quarterly Report:

Iran has increased its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium by 17.6 kg and has 182.3 kg of uranium enriched to this level.

Iran has also increased its stockpile of 20% enriched uranium by 25.3 kg, for a total of 839.2 kg of uranium enriched to this level.

Theoretically, developing one nuclear bomb would require 42 kg of 60% enriched uranium or 125 kg of 20% enriched uranium.

Iran’s enriched uranium has exceeded 32 times what was permitted under the nuclear deal."

In other words, it would be expected as responsible that actions against Iran were kept within a framework that acknowledged Iran being in possession of nuclear deterence.

"To accuse [Pope "Francis"} of using the deaths of Palestinians to promote his jubilee book shows your abysmal evilness."

In 2005, Cardinal Bergoglio was ordered by a court in Argentina to testify about his knowledge of the abducted children in the "dirty war". Cardinal Bergoglio had close personal ties to the generals who directed the dirty war, and the court had already stipulated that anything he was told in confession would be excluded. Of course the sanctity of the confessional is protected in all courts of law. But Mr. Bergoglio gave the court and the families of the missing children the middle finger, by refusing to appear in court. He demonstrated that the "Christian" has no respect for families. In fact, Bergoglio was a boot-licker for the generals during the "dirty war" in which 33,000 unarmed civilians were abducted, tortured and murdered by the Argentine military, and some 12,000 children and infants were given away to families associated with the police state. Bergoglio had to have know at least what was printed in the newspapers, but in fact he rose through the Catholic hierarchy in Argentina by sucking up to powerful evil bastards.

So yes in fact, Bergoglio is filled with abysmal evilness. Maybe that is why other evil people picked him to run the Vatican. I'm not going on any anti-Catholic rant, so you can keep your blood pressure down. One saving grace of many Catholics is that they recognize that their own Church can - and has - done great evil, and that a a few popes have even been murderers.

Mr. Bergoglio's other "skill" is being adept at whitewashing evil. Bergoglio walked a whole 3km (!) barefoot on Roman streets as an act of piety, accompanied by newspaper reporters who recorded his "heroic deed." The "pain" of walking barefoot was supposed to be an act of penance for the sins of the Church. What a cheap stunt! But the Italian newspapers played it up with a straight face.

If you want to see the true face of the Vatican, consider its refusal to support Mother Superior Agnes-Mariam de la Croix. Wikipedia is concise: "She is mother superior of the monastery of St James the Mutilated in Syria, a Melkite Greek Catholic monastery in the town of Qara in the Homs diocese. She is outspoken in regard to the Syrian Civil War and, according to Foreign Policy [Magazine] is 'one of the most prolific defenders of the government of Bashar al-Assad.'" The Catholic hierarchy refuses to work with her. Her bigger "sin" is probably not her defense of the Syrian government, but rather because she reached out to Muslims and co-founded an organization called (Moussalaha) "Reconciliation" to repair the damage done by the CIA-supported Salafists. Of course Moussalaha is NOT mentioned in Wikipedia. In 2013, when Mother Agnes came to the US on a speaking tour, I tried to get the local archdiocese to at least publicize her appearances. To no avail. Later, when I asked her if she had gotten any support from the Vatican, she very expressively rolled her eyes. Yes, 2013 was long before Pope "Francis" took over, but the Vatican elite is all cut from the same cloth, and it has nothing to do with the seamless robe of Jesus.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Hamas will not rule Gaza after the war ends and that Israel has destroyed the Palestinian group’s military capabilities.

Speaking from within Gaza, Netanyahu also said Israel has not given up on locating the remaining captives.

“Anyone who dares to harm our hostages will have blood on their head. We will hunt you down and get you,” he said.

TEL AVIV, November 19. /TASS/. Israel is ready to pay $5 million to anyone in Gaza for each released hostage, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said while touring the Gaza Strip.

"I am telling those [Palestinians] who want to get out of this situation: anyone who hands over a hostage to us, we will ensure a safe exit. To him and his family. We will also offer a remuneration of $5 million for each abducted. The choice is in your hands, but the result will be the same. We will bring everyone home," he said in a video address released by his office.

Didn't bibi mention, yesterday, that he rolled it back ten years?

"Netanyahu did not specify what kind of object was targeted.

However, he acknowledged that the strike did not halt Iran's nuclear program entirely. "The program itself and its potential activation have not been stopped. We delayed its implementation for 10 years, but Iran has made significant progress in uranium enrichment," the prime minister said."

The unalienable duty of every state is to provide external and internal security. Hamas is working on it

The other duty is for rules and courts. Islam provides that by default.

Why does it seem like the Palestinians have been forgotten yet again in the news. And this time they are being slaughtered so callously by Israel, because they can get away with anything now. I have no doubt they will attempt to cleanse all of Gaza and the West Bank is next.

@93 Newbie

"The program itself and its potential activation have not been stopped. We delayed its implementation for 10 years..."

Firstly I do not know if there is a 'program', but given that the capability exists for Iran to build a nuclear weapon in relatively short order (if it has not already done so), the rest of the 'talk' is simply not relevant (i.e. is propaganda, or simply a form of profanity).

It is known "Israel" is not 'willing' to live under threat of nuclear annihilation, and given its history and methods that is not surprising, is nothing to do with having any 'responsible approach' of its own.

It could well be argued that the extremes that "Israel" displays are facilitated by its possession of nuclear weapons. That would have it believe that as it always had a final say, therefore it could behave as it wanted to without any effective repercussion. Loss of that position must make "Israel" fearful, but so concocted is its own story that it does not even recognise when it has lost immunity of any kind due to its very own actions, from people repelling it with what are effectively only sticks and stones by comparison.
