Turkey HAS troops in Syria causing much grief for the Syrian nation. Troops that are both directly occupying a very large territory but also shielding an equally large area held by various Al Qaeda affiliates.
Fighting against Israel for the benefit of Lebanon would be completely uncharacteristic of Turkey. Those Al Qaeda affiliates were pushing hard to spill into Lebanon, fighting against Hezbollah.

There were many who spoke against these crimes boldly and fearlessly. Which even speaking like this is something. In addition, I believe there were multiple behind the scenes discussions & plans on how to end the genocide. Originally a baptist but embraced the evangelical loonies later on. He was a radical anti-communist but he did normally preach peace and social justice, supporting MLK as he also opposed segregation, and didn’t really get into the political like some did (Falwell, dobson, etal)
I guess as a leader in the fairy tale world, he was on the better side.

BRICS may seem inconsequential in October 2024 but according to Al Jazeera, on Wednesday, the organisation welcomed several new members including Iran and Egypt at the meeting in Kazan. VV Putin announced that BRICS is considering applications for membership from 30 countries.
So the not-so-Christian West is headed towards irrelevant minority status.
Talking about the jewed-up West, it’s worth remembering that the English were thoroughly jewed-up ~100 years ago when they agreed with Lord Balfour that the Jews should be “given” English-occupied Palestine.

Here are my notes and comments on the BRICS meetings.
Nima BRICS Kazan meeting Oct 24 2024
1. The first aim is to consolidate a critical mass enabling enough countries to join together to be independent of the West – for finance, trade and credit.
This critical mass is what the Bandung Conference of non-aligned nations did not have 80 years ago. The member countries did not have the option of “going it alone.” They now have it, thanks largely to China and is heavy monetary holdings, and the movement by countries to replace the dollar with gold and with each other’s currencies.
The most noteworthy discussions concerned the means of payment for trade and investment relations among the BRICS member countries and other countries who wish to join or be affiliated with them.
They already have protected themselves by creating an alternative bank-clearing mechanism to SWIFT.
They are now seeking to de-dollarize by denominating their trade in their own national currencies.
The problem that the Kazan meeting apparently has not resolved is what to do when some countries accumulate “too much” currency of payments-deficit countries.
In the case of Russian-India trade, what is Russia to do with all the rupees that it is accumulating for its oil sales to India to be resold to the West?
A related effort must be made to expel US-backed NGOs as a Fifth Column pressing for regime change in BRICS countries. Georgia has made a start in expelling NGOs.
2. Mutual military support
We see this with Russia and China, at least partially supporting Iran.
But China seems to try and straddle the BRICS and its relations with the United States. It is as if China downplays the constant U.S. claims that China is America’s number-one existential enemy. Obviously the US/NATO attack on Russia is planned to be extended to the Pacific and fighting in the China Sea, absorbing Japan and the Philippines in effect into NATO.
But the Arab and other Islamic countries are not protecting Palestinians as Israel creates genocide against them. This leaves them prone to Israel and the United States proceeding with the U.S. neocon plan to take over Syria and Iraq (along with the Arab oil producers, culminating in Saudi Arabia) on their way to attacking Iran.
So the great question is how to expand the Shanghai Cooperation Organization into the BRICS’ counterpart to NATO
3. Protection against US/NATO financial sanction
President Putin has warned other countries that what NATO did to it may be done to them. Europe’s seizure of Russian funds is serving as a catalyst to introduce a BRICS payment and bank-clearing system.
4. The rule of law: How to cope with the West’s illegal sanctions against BRICS members?
May the BRICS themselves start imposing sanctions on the West, for raw materials?
5. What’s being left out – at least for the time being
Nothing about a different tax policy – i.e., to tax land and natural-resource rents. And to prohibit interest from being counted as a tax-deductible cost of production.
Nothing about money creation as a public utility, not privatized.
Nothing about de-privatization of natural monopolies, whose ownership is a criterion of a state.
Cutting of offshore banking centers and financial corruption.
4. Questions:
What of dual membership for Turkey and Saudi Arabia?
What of India? These countries are seeking to get the best of both worlds – but in seeking to continue relations with the US-centered West, will they dilute BRICS moves to become independent?

There is still a significant crisis potential, and it is not only the growing geopolitical tensions, but also the fact that the chronic growth of the debt burden in developed countries continues,
Let me also remind you of our initiatives to establish the BRICS arbitration investment center and develop a convention on the settlement of investment disputes, which will increase the security of mutual investments.
I.e., vs Obama’s TPP, and Investor Dispute Court. BRICS will enable countries to fine oil and mining investors for repair of the environmental damage they do.
At the end of the meetings, Putin summarized the direction in which the BRICS are moving
To resist in every possible way attempts to use the climate agenda to eliminate competitors from the market, especially in emerging markets.
By “competitors” Putin means Russia and China, and blocks against importing Russian oil and gas.
But we don’t do it, other people do it. But we don’t give up, we don’t fight the dollar. But if we are not allowed to work with it – what to do, then we are forced to look for other alternatives, which is what happens.
As we strive for cooperation, I think we should understand that the longer we live and work according to other people’s rules and on other people’s platforms, the longer this transition to a new and fairer economic and financial system will last, and this may be accompanied by major upheavals, including those that will lead to a new economic and financial system, which we observe, in particular, in the Middle East. My colleagues and I will talk about this later.
Roussiev: The cheaper we get money, the more we allow our finances to be used for priority contracts.
The problems and indicated path toward solutions raised at the BRICS meetings are civilizational on the sense that protecting themselves requires an entirely different philosophy of how money creation, debt relations, tax systems and military defense systems should be created on fundamentally different lines from those of the US-sponsored international organization, from the IMF and World Bank to the UN itself.
There apparently will be investment preferences and perhaps tariff preferences for intra-BRICS trade.
The point of international investment courts is important, because it frees the way for countries to charge damage-reparation costs on oil and mining companies, or on other international investors. The present International Investment Dispute court makes countries reimburse corporations for any change in tax laws, regulatory laws of fines for the damage they cause.
Putin mentioned the WTO. It looks like an entirely different BRICS-centered alternative to the current WTO will be put in place. The current WTO has been paralyzed for two years by the US refusing to appoint a representative that is needed to make a judicial quorum.
The greatest problem raised by Putin was the dollar-debt that Global South and other countries owe to US and European bondholders.
At some point there will be a write-down and wrote-offs of this debt. That is a precondition for debtor countries to put their own economic interests above those of foreign creditors.
The discussion shows recognition of the degree to which the US/NATO have weaponized the financial system and trade system.
Other issues include the refusal by China and other BRICS countries to accept the West’s plastic waste.
Gold will play a rising role.
