What a time for a party!
Were you aware of how suspicious the relocation of the Rave Party was? The Rave Party that was held just 3 miles from the walls of Gaza.

Furthermore, his objection was seconded by other officers, both at the Gaza Division and at the Southern Command headquarters. But in a conversation with the IDF’s operations division, he was instructed to approve the event.”
“During the days preceding the massacre, the system had received warnings that Hamas would try to attack on Israeli soil. The information was based on several sources who noticed alarming preparations by Hamas personnel, as well as intelligence that raised the concern growing among various security figures.
Haaretz has not been able to verify whether Lt. Col. Fogel was aware of this intelligence, or whether his opposition to the event was related to it.
Then came Oct. 7. Hours before the terror attack, the security establishment received signs and warnings leading to its decision to prepare – if only partially – for a terrorist incursion. But no IDF officer updated the thousands of revelers or the rave organizers of the fear of an attack, or demanded that they break up the party and leave the area.”

The officers normally charged with approving/disapproving such an event were overruled by higher-ups.
Recall that Israel had been in possession of Hamas’ detailed plans for Oct 7th and they had it nearly a full year before Oct 7th. Detailed. Israel knew the Rave was in the danger zone, but the Rave was relocated to within 3 miles of the Gaza wall. People in Gaza could hear the Rave taking place.
And this was taking place with diminished troop levels. NYT: “But October 7th was the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, and the Sabbath. A senior military officer estimated that about half the 1,500 soldiers in the area were away.”

Such an operation requires early preparation with many collaborators. All of this escaped the view of the Israeli intelligence, which knew nothing.

Should have noted in post @1 that the Rave Party, which was approved just days before Oct 7th,
was positioned **between** Gaza and the Re’im military base. Re’im was a *named* prime target
in the Hamas manual for October 7th, a manual which Israel had captured months before.

Clearly I missed something as the two leaked documents I saw don’t talk about “plans”. They just talked about the current status of things, 40 Rocks moved, some ALBMs moved. Some low observable drones are believed to be active.

My take is the DoD doesn’t want any war, anyplace at present.
Sure, even 10 years ago we had confidence in our weapons and organization to openly pursue global dominance, but once reality set in, we determined it’s best to engage in an orderly retreat for now.
This is not to say we won’t be back after getting a chance to live another day, it’s just that it won’t be with our current suite of weapon systems.
No, it’s back to the drawing board, cutting out the huge MIC corruption and bloated senior positions, terminating a range of very expensive useless toys, and returning to the core mission of actually achieving global dominance instead of just talking about it.

Yes, it’s not like I don’t understand the U.S./West are powerful and have powerful devastating weapons. It’s just been a few decades since they’ve been challenged by a peer or near peer opponent and they have not adapted to modern warfare tactics or strategies as fast as their counterparts as demonstrated with very weak A/D systems against drones mainly.
If I saw in the ME, bases having massive resurgence in troops or the opposite, bases being emptied or Embassy staff recalled or a multitude of other prep type movements, then I would entertain that perhaps US military about to open up all cylinders on Iran.
There are some commentators remarking that USReal sees this as a good, and possibly only time to open up the use of tactical nuclear weapons. That the U.S. is looking to “normalize” the use of low grade, tactical nukes, as a weapon. Of warfare, primarily because they are a generation behind in some areas of weaponry, and need a few more years in drone technology.
The commentators are arguing that the U.S. could use Israel’s arsenal as a CYA blame spectacle, but open that space as they’ve been wanting to do, and wanted to do in Ukraine b4 Russia smack down of “no nuclear weapon is tactical or low yield” and would rain down nukes if attempted.
I’m not so sure that wasn’t exactly what Putin warned Israel about with their idea of attacking Irans nuclear sites.
What better way to use a tactical low yield nuke than to set off a nuclear blast at a nuclear facility? It’s not like just a missile can destroy them (nuckear sites). They have all kinds of shut down mechanisms and containment systems & protocols.
Anyways, aside from US ramping up Syrian rent-a-terrorist and mobs to cause Assad et el problems now, and possibly another regime change campaigns for Lebanon, as well as one in Iran, and the lobbied military who wants to keep buying & selling weapons, I don’t see the military wanting a full scale ME war. Most in US/NATO simply want the US in total full domination but trying to figure out how not to bloody themselves & haven’t figured it out & are working on that. So, hence the fallback failed projects of regime change, chaos, sanctions, civil strife ect.
The difference is, the resistance will not back down and “settle”… this is a huge difference this time. The fallback regime change throughout the region plan, will take time, time Israel does not have before it becomes an obvious failed state.
It was so much easier when they could get all the Muslim nations to turn on each other for their benefit. They can’t seem to find another nation ready to die for the USReal/West hegemony besides the Israeli deranged atm

In northern Gaza Strip today. Jabalia Refugee Camp and Beit Lahiya are now being demolished, with the Palestinian men separated from the women and children and many of the men arrested. Women told to leave the area. (Where to?).
Beit Lahiya, where there was a massacre yesterday, is one of the most northern points in Gaza, and is not far from the Jabalia camp. In Jabalia camp, there have been reports for the past two days that some people are dead in thier tents from starvation and thirst. Since they have been under siege for a couple of weeks, most families have been terrified to leave their own tents, and so the number of dead from starvation is not yet ascertained. I guess the bodies will be bulldozed into the ground by the IDF so that no-one will ever be able to verify how many were killed this way.

In Jabalia, Israeli forces ‘detained all men and warned women to leave’
The Israeli military siege of northern Gaza, now in its 16th day, continues with access to food, water, medicine and vital services cut off for an estimated 400,000 trapped residents.
Some of them say they have been separated from their families after Israeli soldiers stormed their shelters and detained dozens of men.
“The Israeli tanks besieged the area and forced all us out of the sheltering school,” a Palestinian woman, carrying a baby on her shoulders, said. “They detained all men and warned all women to leave in groups. We left everything behind, even baby milk.
“The Israelis started shelling us with artillery, their drone and warplanes fired missiles too. Then, they stormed the area with their tanks and opened fire randomly.”
