Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Hizbullah, Iran Put More Pressure On Israel

Two weeks ago, after successful Zionist attacks on Hizbullah's leadership, I asserted that Hizbullah would be back:

However, Israel can not kill its way to peace.

Hizbullah is a social movement deeply ingrained into the people and society of Lebanon.

Hizbullah has a social society side which takes care for and aliments large parts of its constituency.

It also has a military side which is very well organized, disciplined and which has many hidden assets ready to be activated when needed. Following the Shia creed Hizbullah's soldiers are ready and willing to die for their cause.

In 1982 Israel assassinated Hizbullah chief Musawi. His replacement, Hassan Nasrallah, proved to be the more formidable enemy who organized resistance movements that span the whole region. Anyone following Nasrallah will also be younger, less risk avers and a more formidable enemy.

The same holds for the replacements of lower level casualties.

The Zionist colonist will rue the consequences of their deeds.

Today Hizbullah's operation room warned the Zionists in Haifa to empty the city:

Ali Hashem @alihashem_tv – 9:44 UTC · Oct 12, 2024

Hezbollah’s operations room statement, warning residents of Haifa and several other northern cities up to Tiberias to evacuate homes near military installations, signals an expansion of the displacement zone for Israel from 5 km to over 30 km.

This could force Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to evacuate at least 250,000 people, rather than the initial 100,000. While predicting new rules of engagement is difficult, this could create a new dynamic, where more attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs triggers more Hezbollah rocket strikes deep into northern Israel.

Nearly three weeks after the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, the party has absorbed the blow and elevated its operations to a new level. Its leadership has gone unseen, likely utilizing alternative communication methods that have enabled a seamless transition. Despite the loss, Hezbollah continues to launch attacks and maintain supply lines to the front, allowing for further escalation, all while seeking a diplomatic solution to the conflict through the Speaker of Parliament.

🧵Hezbollah has intensified rocket and missile strikes on northern Israel over the past week.

Today, it called for civilians to evacuate Haifa, Tiberias, & other areas, claiming that Israeli military operations in residential zones make them legitimate targets.

2/ Significantly, Hezbollah’s statement also said, "Northern occupied Palestine will remain empty of settlers until the war against Gaza and Lebanon ends."

This reflects its original position of rejecting a ceasefire with Israel that is not linked to ending the Gaza war.

8/ The head of Hezbollah's media office Mohammad Afif also asserted today:

"To the enemy, I say: You have only seen a fraction of our strikes.
"On the ground, especially on the southern front, the resistance is in good shape.
"It manages its firing fields and the timing of its volleys in accordance with its field assessment and the objective conditions.
"Its strategic reserves are intact.
"Thousands of Karbala-inspired martyrdom fighters are in peak readiness and fully prepared to fight fiercely in revenge for our sacred martyr.
"…The resistance will not engage in static defense but rather a flexible defense that adapts to the requirements of the front and the conditions of each area.
"It will set ambushes, plant explosives, carry out flanking maneuvers, and shift flexibly from defense to offense, inflicting heavy losses, which the enemy has begun to acknowledge gradually, forcing them repeatedly to retreat and reassess the front, contrary to their calculations and estimates.
"…We are not in 1982 when Israeli tanks reached Beirut, altering the political equations and tearing the social fabric of Lebanon. We are more in the early days of the July War, when the same people rushed to declare Hezbollah’s defeat, only to later realize their mistake and return to their senses by the end of the war, with Hezbollah emerging victorious.
"Our absolute priority now is to defeat the enemy and force it to cease its aggression by force."

That is part of the recent news from which Elijah Magnier, who knows Hizbullah better than any other western journalist, concludes:

I am beginning to think that #Israel is reluctant to invade #Lebanon.

Hezbollah has lost 80% of the first line of command, the operations room and the secretary general, yet it has managed to regain control beautifully. No army in the world can withstand the first blow.

Now Hezbollah has regained control, it has replenished its positions, its logistics are in top condition, it has prevented four divisions from entering Lebanon, it has absorbed the displaced persons, it has discovered the source of the leakage, and it is threatening to force more Israeli displaced persons. With every day that passes, Hezbollah shows that it has regained its professionalism in directing the war and taking the initiative.

The Zionists are reluctant to go further than a few meter into Lebanon because their ground forces are taking high losses. A full ground attack would be extremely costly.

The Zionist entity is also reluctant to attack Iran. Its security cabinet could not agree on an appropriate way to hit back for Iran's recent missile attack with some 180 ballistic missiles. That attack did real damage on two military air ports. It also hit other strategic assets.

Last night the Islamic Republic Iran Boradcasting [IRIB] organization announced:

iranmilitaryvlog @irmilitaryvlog – 9:06 UTC · Oct 12, 2024

IRIB yesterday revealed that Iran's armed forces managed to knock out a transportable Raytheon long-range, very high-altitude X-band radar positioned near the 'Nevatim' airbase belonging to the THAAD system without detection before raining down ballistic missiles on their target.

Quote: H. E. Mehr | حمید ابراهیمی مهر @Hemehr … Embedded video

The THAAD AN/TPY-2 transportable radar directs high attitude missile defenses. There is, as far as is known, only one  in Israel. such a radar system, if bought now, costs about $300 million. The one in the Negev desert is under U.S. control.

If, as IRIB claims, that radar was indeed hit, the strike has blown a huge hole into Israel's missile defenses. This would explain the reluctance in the security cabinet to go for on all out attack on Iran. Any Iranian response, which would come as assured as tomorrows sun rise, would hit Israel extremely hard.

218 – Years ago I met an Israeli like that at a sort of conference in Vienna. He lived there – he said Israeli society was fascist or the next thing to it, and preferred living in Austria. Which once had a significant reputation for anti-Semitism – that an Israeli would prefer living there is significant in itself. He saw no prospects of Israeli society changing.

A couple of people have linked to Taxi’s tribute to Hezbollah, reprinted at Unz.
It’s good to see this heartfelt essay again. Taxi had written a note at her website saying she was taking a break and would be back when war broke out, the war that she, following Syed Hasan Nasrallah, thought would be Israel’s last. Every few months I had checked out her site to see if she’s back. Some months back the link led to nowhere.
I note she spells “god” with a small “g”. There are a few close to the spirit of the One and who love truth but cannot see it.

A video on the jewish republic in Russia.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2dT4eiPL8A
Non-evil israelis can go there. That’s what a jewish republic looks like with no olive trees tended to for millennia by other people; no stolen fruit gardens, no oil, no hundreds of billions of dollars of blood money every year from US and Germany, no local music traditions and ancient cuisine to steal from neighbours and claim as their own, no human trade, organ trade, no world monopoly on spyware and VPN services, no sitting right on the trade route from Asia to the west. Just ordinary life, nothing that bad, nothing that good, plain old banal grey misery. Hardly any people on the streets, completely deserted in the night.
Some fun moments:
12:26 “A town where they destroy everyone who doesn’t have money. [the officials] stole everything. People are scared.”
14:53 “Why don’t they put a Holocaust museum here? Imagine how people would come from every part of the world!”

Israel has 6 or 7 types of air launched standoff missiles with ranges in the low hundreds of miles. 100 to 300 miles. However it is not believed they have lots and lots of any of them. They also have some drones of their own. And some cruise missiles. Very few ballistic missiles.
There are a large number of targets on the periphery of Iran. They could launch from outside of Iran’s territory without much problem and hit some of them. Given that F-15’s and F-16’s could also be used.
It would not be hard to hit Kharg Island if that is what they wanted to do. On the other hand to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities is way beyond their capabilities. The most they could do there is damage some parts. It is also beyond their capabilities to do much damage to Iran’s missile inventory.
Whatever they do, it is clear that Iran hit Israel with missiles another 5 times or so in the size they did earlier in the month. That can cause a lot of damage.
Thinking way outside the box… Maybe they should use one of those dinky submarines to mysteriously sink an Iranian VLCC on its return.

michaelj72 quotes: “…“UN says no food has entered northern Gaza since start of October, putting 1 million people at risk of starvation”….”
I’m amazed the death toll isn’t a million already. Usually, only a fraction of civilian deaths in a conflict are due to enemy fire – the vast majority die from starvation and disease. Gaza’s water and sewage systems must be bombed out, food supplies have been at subsistence levels for ages, vast numbers of people are crammed into a small territory with nowhere to flee, so how the hell are people managing to survive? The official death toll has been around 40,000 for a while now, I fear it is in fact much much more, and the numbers are being kept under wraps for fear of letting the Zio genociders their end goal is in sight.

______
The true number isn’t being kept under wraps; it’s simply unknowable. The Gaza Health Ministry records only those deaths it can verify, and needless to say its ability to verify deaths is extremely limited.
That much said, the Ministry’s undercount serves Zionazi propaganda, however unintentionally, by trivializing the death toll. Myself, I suspect that the real number is probably in the multiple hundred thousands.

Israel’s failure to retaliate against the Iranian retaliation is indicative of the hypothesis that the Iranians did significantly hit military assets. They (US, Israel) have realised that they cannot attack Iran without public losses (Russian air defence) and realise that any further Iranian strike would decimate Israel.

I have just heard announced on BBC R.3’s 08:00 News slot, that Christopher Columbus the erstwhile discoverer of America ( i know, i know !) was actually of Jewish ancestry. Apparently, research conducted in Spain has discovered through detailed examination of his remains that, whilst formerly assumed to be of Genoan heritage, he was in fact, a Sephardic Jew.
Posted by: Pyewacket | Oct 13 2024 7:36 utc | 196
It’s an interesting story, which I heard too. Naturally, that news is given without context, and I can just imagine who paid for the ADN analysis. The omitted context is that many if not most of the Spanish who left to conquer the New World were in fact former Muslims who’d been compelled to convert to Christianity. They left from Seville, in the former Muslim lands. Some could equally be Sephardi, as in this case. It was better, conquering new lands, than remaining under the suffocating Catholic inquisition.
Also, an ADN analysis doesn’t tell you how far back the Jewish ancestry was. It could have been a Jewish family who converted to Islam of their own free will, and were then forced to convert to Catholicism.

So I’m not the only one fearing the worst.
I’m sure the true number is unknowable, but I wonder if what they do know is higher than 40,000? I guess you can look at it two ways – under-counting minimalises Zio crimes, but also avoids encouraging the enemy. Armies throughout history have down-played casualties for this reason.

Just thinking aloud, given Russia’s great experience and competency at shooting down ATACMS and other Western missiles gained in the Ukraine war, it would be smart for Iran to have embedded some military officers in Russia, they would not even need to get near the front, just stay back in the rear and observe and take notes. On the other hand, I’m sure that the US is feeding Israel with intelligence on this, and may be advising them to use different types of missiles than the ones used by NATO.

Unlike reddit, Farcebook, or WaPo discussions, MoA discussions are a tough crowd and you cannot appear to “win” by getting moderators to silence posters whose views do not align with the imperial narrative du jour; nevertheless, throwing a tantrum about it doesn’t help your case. Trust me on this, few readers here feel offended when a neutered canine barks insults at them in doggish. Where adults are concerned, you have to be someone they respect before your bile can hurt their feelings, and you simply don’t rise to that level here. Readers just laugh at your efforts to offend, and enjoy your displays of anguish.
And Ahenobarbus @190 is correct. The troll in question in his post is a professional one, if only in the sense of being paid. The fake spelling errors suggests the troll is a presstitute moonlighting for the Establishment on social media and is trying to disguise its writing style by pretending to be stupid. Sadly, a stupid individual cannot pretend to be a smart person pretending to be stupid, so the troll’s efforts at camouflage are pointlessly redundant.

His straw man arguments air brushed history which professors from the Chicago school tend to do. He air brushed history to fit his narrative and framing. A speciality of the Chicago School across economics and many other subjects.
Here’s the proof:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FYLNCcLfIkM&pp=ygUmUHJlc2lkZW50IGJpZGVuIGlmIGlzcmFlbCBkaWRuJ3QgZXhpc3Q%3D
Now that was in 1986 nearly 40 years ago. I say it again 40 years ago.
Not only does that prove beyond any doubt Mearsheimer was air brushing history to fit his framing and narrative.
It absolutely neuters the rest of his speech and makes it redundant. Not only that it also makes his book Israel lobby and US foreign policy written in 2008. 22 years after the speech in Congress in 1986 farcical.
That’s pretty much what the Chicago school do. They air brush history by not going far enough back in time to fit their framing and narrarive. Then build their case in a false framing and narrative. They have done it for decades. If he had gone back to 1986 and before then he could never claim.
” Israel is not a strategic asset of the US ”
What Mearsheimer has done or is attempting to do is the equivalent of the spreadsheet farce of Rogoff. Growth in the time of debt theory. They only choose a certain time span to prove a theory. Don’t venture past that time span that would have shown it was a myth.
99.9% of Moon of Alabama readers don’t even need to go back to 1986 and before we already know
” Israel is not a strategic asset of the US ”
Is a myth. That Mearsheimer is clutching at straws and using straw man arguments to fit a narrative.

HE is not a professional, is not assigned/supported. A lone wolf.
Has been around for very, very many years. Is mentally unwell, cannot quite pin down the condition, yet singularly obsesses over this forum & in particular regular & long term contributors. Routinely creates derivative personas to participate/infiltrate the bar, uses them to instigate disputation/argument/forum fights to provoke shock/betrayal & engender distrust/paranoia. He obtains pseudo-sexual-sadistic pleasure & affirmation of his self-perceived superior intellect, due the temporary consequences & temporary distractions.
Periodically, he diverts to impersonating posters and then again as above. Rinse-and repeat.
Intermittently produces outlandish/unusual/weird personas with frankly odd posts/perspectives that such a living human would not be interested in this forum. Contrary to his self delusions re intellect/abilities, insufficient determined self-discipline, cannot sustain them beyond the short-medium term.
Periodically, as just occurred, goes full retard, & claims falsely to blow the place up, particularly focuses on those he has deceived & interacted with re personas/socks/posts, which he loathes as contemptible fools/suckers. Since he is thwarted in his efforts over time by b, he also singularly rages ineffectually against our host.
On two occasions inadvertently, linked to his barren & deranged sub stack/social media website site, on another, his deranged you tube media obsessing in bizarre ways regarding philosophy/philosophers.
Clinically unsound, obsessed, delusional, and lives out various personas through his various fake identities. Some form of multi-personality disorder, not lived, but artificially, consciously projected.
Expose/uncloak one of them he becomes aggressively/viciously attached to the culprit, until bored/distracted, especially if there is no ‘bite-back’, then recommences entire process again. Rinse & repeat.
A singular/signature, obsessed & deranged individual.
Very sad, awful, dreadful self-destructive existence. Deserves empathy, compassion & pity.
Not a routine run of the mill troll. Not any entities cats paw/proxy or agent.
2c are up

I first remember hearing about THAAD some 30 years ago. Shouldn’t it be obsolete by now?

Posted by: Lysias | Oct 13 2024 15:02 utc | 247

Lysias it was likely obsolete before it left the drawing paper 🙂

I stand firmly behind b on this….
To promote his 2008 book – Israel lobby and US foreign policy. Mearsheimer had to claim ” Israel is not a strategic asset of the US ”
Or the core thesis of his book falls apart. It is so important to the book he started his speech off with it. Or should I say attempted to brush it under the carpet.
So what it boils down to I suppose, is this. If you actually believe the tail is wagging the dog. Then you have to prove beyond any doubt and have 70 years of history on your side that
” Israel is not a strategic asset of the US ”
Good luck with that. Mearsheimer can’t even do it.

It goes well with all the other pathetic goy grovelling that people are expected to do. “I’m not a putinist”, “I’m not an antivaxxer”…
It’s fun though if people accuse you of being one. I’ve never met anyone who could explain what “putinist” or “antivaxxer” mean. I think Putin should be much harsher with the West, am I a “putinist”? I took a rabies vaccine, but blaspheme on the covid religion; am I an “antivaxxer”? Am I a “homophobe”? No, I’m a fucking phobe, no, a Phobos. I’m a MOON. With gay friends.

The US oil and gas company Chevron has temporarily suspended further planned infrastructure work for expanding the Leviathan gas field, located off the coast of Israel, amid intensified fighting in the Levant. The announcement was made by Chevron’s partner in the venture, NewMed Energy.

In August 2024, the Leviathan partners NewMed Energy (45.3%), Chevron (39.7%) and Ratio Energies (15%) had approved a US$429m investment plan to expand the Leviathan gas project and to increase production at the field from 12 bcm/year to 21 bcm/year.

Thanks for the link to Emanuele Rossi’s ignorant anti-China drivel. Rossi conveniently ‘forgets’ that the IOF killed 90%+ of the jewish victims of the October 7 Gaza jailbreak.
That’s very Chutzpah of him/her/it considering that the truth about October 7 has been available on the www since soon after the event.
Emanuele also ‘forgot’ that the Chinese, unlike psycho Zionists, aren’t lazy, stupid or mendacious.

I think this logic is quite that which Gandhi gave to the European Jews in relation to the Holocaust. Unfortunately it was bad advice. The Jews who fought back weren’t spared, but they died on their feet, not on their knees. There’s moral value, sometimes, to going down swinging. If nothing else, it will teach a valuable lesson to the oppressed within Israeli society, to the Arab minority within the Jewish ethno-state, to the Jewish and Arab workers who are drafted and forced to fight and risk their own hides for a war they have nothing to do with at this point in history except accident of their birth. The heroic indigenous resistance to Israeli settler-colonial aggression is also a moral lesson to oppressed peoples in the United States, which is why the Black Panther Party made a big deal about solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, and why militants for Black liberation today are allies to the Palestinian and not the Israeli cause.

Per Thierry Meyssan, “de facto collapse of international law” occurred in March 2019 when Trump decreed that Golan Heights belonged to Israel. Another example occurred a month later this time involving Libya. Trump decreed that US taxpayers wouldn’t support the UN government in Libya, instead would back General Khalifa Haftar….4/23/2019, “The European Union is obliged to participate in US wars,” by Thierry Meyssan

Sigh … reluctantly …
Actually what’s truly baffling, astounding even, is your arrogance, condescending, pompous, conceit & profound ignorance.
Am old & busted up bustard now, yet long service in Military Intelligence (MI), Military Interrogator, which includes significant psych profiling & behavioral/personality profiling/assessment, Counter-Intelligence (CI), Agent Handling & Covert Ops, & Analyst/Op Planning … then there’s greater insight/knowledge due study of my own mental health conditions and that of buddies & fellow vets due service …
Been in this bar, and 2 prior incarnations over 20 years, it’s all in the posts.
Have directly interacted extensively at length over years with the individual concerned and exposed various personas. Archived in posts.
Complicated ? In your own words: Idiotic, arrogant, ignorant, assumptive …
Best to take your own advice, reflect & perhaps grow up:

I suggest focusing on the substance of the discussion rather than indulging in baseless speculations about people you don’t know.

Cheers

I know of your rottenness, while you pretend to think you are something…
It is maybe impossible for you to envision how ugly, physically and in your soul you project to a world of the majority of the planet.
We see you right for what you are.
1) Fat shapeless usa-inish persons, like you and similar, trying to sound like you mean something.
You see, I told you in the beginning of this latest Naqba, that the world will close up to such as you and that you will not be welcome, stay in your stinking abodes, I harmed quite a few of your kind this summer.Amazingly how cowardly your kind is.
YOU STAY OUT, stink it in your own little barns. Nobody wants you.
Get out and stay away, midgets. The 97% of the world hates you.
Stink up your own cloaca, you will not steal anymore, you are not welcome to the rest of the world with history.
And I could quite envision you, shriveled, rolling down my mountain.
You are not welcome, canukistan inhabitant settler.

THAAD in Ukraine makes little sense. Russia isn’t bombing from long range/high altitude but closer. Or, if they are, it’s not an essential part of their attack.
You kids want Iran to escalate, but don’t understand the fight. Iran needs to keep it’s powder dry or to hold real threats/escalation to be used with great restraint. The reason is, the real “fight” is a siege, it’s “fighting them as they fight you.” The Zionists think they can get the Palestinians to disappear by making their life miserable, but they project, that is what will drive them away.
Outraged said “who wins” is a question of determination, but that’s not quite right; the Zionists are determined, the Palestinians have nowhere else to go.
Zionists were too parsimonious to offer to buy them out, they were determined to take it. I support a one state solution, and half think in such a state half the Palestinians would sell to crazed Zionists if they had equal rights and an Israeli passport (spell check keeps suggesting Zombies). That was never an option. As is, it’s beginning to look like the Zionist Occupation regime isn’t long for this world

Again, those calling for Iran to attack Israeli infrastructure…for what it’s worth that is counter to Islamic ethics/just war theory, and it does little to press their siege, which is about endurance, escalation is is the fool’s Gambit. This is a “jihad” an ongoing struggle. Endurance is faith is strength, that animated Muhammad Ali and it animated the resistance

Great comments. Minor quibble & clarification re context/intent.
Do you think the functional societal core necessary to sustain the Israeli state, flabby, comfortable, life privileged, pampered, never having comparatively endured true suffering/trauma/deprivation, will remain ‘Determined‘ to exist in IsraHell once they’ve been on the receiving end of what the Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Arab-Israelis, have endured over generations ? Even briefly, merely a few percent of ? Me thinks not … nor do you.
Cheers
