‘Thanatos’ in Greek versus Eros-the life instinct-Freud examined the interplay between the two.
“In Freudian theory, Thanatos represents the death drive, while Eros represents the life drive. Where Thanatos leads people to experience aggression, engage in risky behaviors, and re-experience past traumas, Eros helps promote survival, reproduction, and social cooperation. It is the complex interaction between the two that helps shape human behavior.

My God, this is shameful, servile, obsequious. Did Biden lose his spine as well as his mind? How complete is Netanyahu’s control of the US government? Or did Biden just take his pills and go back to sleep?
The way forward is the same as how we got here. Don’t take the bait, drain Israel down and keep the air sirens going. It’s as if the US adopted the One Great Battle idea of WW2 Japanese. Keep the emigration concept going.
The Houthis seem subdued. Maybe that last bombing was one too many.

(10,000 Israeli Soldiers Killed or Wounded – Report Exposes Crisis among Israeli Soldiers in Gaza

(excerpts)….According to the report, “no less than 10,000 soldiers, who were killed or wounded during the long months of fighting in the Gaza Strip, are missing from the IDF today.”
The newspaper also revealed that approximately a thousand soldiers “join the ranks of the physically and mentally wounded,” as recorded by the rehabilitation department of the Israeli Ministry of Security.
Despite these alarming figures, both the Knesset and the government have pushed forward with the reformulation and passage of a law to extend compulsory military service, reportedly leaving regular soldiers in a state of significant frustration and uncertainty……
….Ithe newspaper also reported that female observer soldiers stationed in the northern Golan Heights were unexpectedly informed that their service would be extended by an additional four months, despite their scheduled discharge in September.
According to official Israeli data, which is subject to military censorship, more than 690 Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed since October 7……
….Last July, Israeli Channel 12 revealed that 20,000 occupation soldiers had been injured in Gaza since October 7, with 8,298 being classified as disabled…..
….On July 12, the Israeli cabinet approved a decision to extend compulsory military service to three years due to a shortage of personnel.
This decision will be presented to the government for approval and later brought before the Knesset (parliament) for legislation.

Helena Cobban on the ongoing implosion of “Israel”:

But it seems to me that the degree of societal/institutional rot (or derangement) now evident within Israeli society runs considerably deeper than anything this little settler-colonial construction has ever witnessed before. Members of the government on whose goodwill and vote the Prime Minister relies have been joining and inciting the mobs rioting against the military police as they clamor for the “right to rape”?? Many of those same ministers, including Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, had earlier joined and incited the– apparently somewhat smaller –mobs that intervened to block the aid trucks into Gaza. (In support of the “right to starve others”, I guess.)

🇷🇺 Iran, apparently, has received Russian ultra-long-range electronic warfare systems Murmansk-BN.
Previously, these complexes were deployed in the Northern Fleet and in Crimea (the 475th Electronic Warfare Center was responsible for its use there).
Their distinctive feature is a suppression range of up to 5 thousand kilometers. The Murmansk-BN complex is located on seven trucks. Its antennas are mounted on four telescopic supports up to 32 meters high.

The reason for sending the USS Theodore Roosevelt to the Persian Gulf may be to sacrifice the crew to rally a surge of patriotism among the US population to support going to war. Fighting for the freedom of Jews to mass murder, rape and plunder goyem might not might not catch on, some in the Biden administration may suspect.
But if the US can anger Iran enough to sink the carrier then they have a more workable battle cry — Remember the Teddy. Losing the several thousand sailors will be easy for the Biden administration will be easy to accept. The tough part will be losing all those F-35 jets on board.

It’s a question of character, morality and bravery not unlike the case of the American psychopathic assholes against the Viet. The pampered, cowardly Jewish scum get more butthurt over the death of one soldier than the Palestinians over a thousand.
In fact, once Netanyahu dropped a book on his pinky toe and they declared a national emergency. Fifty Palestinians working at the bookstore were shot shortly thereafter.

This matches my calculations around six months ago.
The IDF is definitely losing a lot more than they’re telling.
When a tank goes up in flames on any given day and the IDF announces only one fatality on that day like they expect you to believe that only one dude is ever driving around Gaza at a time then you know things are really bad.
And Gaza is a light skirmish. They cross into Lebanon on foot and they’ll have no army left – to paraphrase Nasrallah.
No wonder they’re moving heaven and earth to drag the Americans in.

I think the question we should be pondering is, how far does Iran go?
In the context of the last time Iran hit Israel, will this be 1x? 2x? 5x? More?
Last time Iran demonstrated they could do anything they wanted. It is really a matter of what kind of message are they trying to send.
Knowing these older powers (Iran, Russia, China) I would expect them to moderate their response. We all know they could wipe Israel off of the map if they want to.
Surely at some point it gets tiresome and ineffective to continue to spank a mischievous child.

Kamala’s likely VP pick: hardcore Zionazi.
“Like Biden and Harris, Shapiro is an ardent defender of the Zionist state of Israel. He has led efforts to quash anti-genocide protests in Pennsylvania. In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper this past April, Shapiro called for shutting down Gaza solidarity encampments, comparing the protesters to white supremacists.
He said that “the act of gathering, in the way that some of these students have at some of these universities, violates university policy and may violate the rules of that particular city or that particular state.
“That can’t be allowed in the name of free speech,” Shapiro continued. He added, “It is simply unacceptable. And you know what, we have to query whether or not we would tolerate this if this were people dressed up in KKK outfits or KKK regalia.”
Shapiro’s disdain for Palestinians and those who advocate in their defense apparently goes back decades. Earlier this week, a 1993 opinion article written by Shapiro, then a 20-year-old college student at the University of Rochester, was unearthed. In the article, the future governor argued that there will never be peace between Israelis and Palestinians because the latter “do not have the capabilities to establish their own homeland and make it successful even with the aid of Israel and the United States. They are too battle-minded to be able to establish a peaceful homeland of their own.”
Shapiro seemingly admitted to having previously been a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, writing of himself “as a Jew and a past volunteer in the Israeli army.”
In a statement to the Times of Israel, Shapiro’s spokesperson Manuel Bonder claimed that while in high school, Shapiro did a “service project” with “several classmates” on a kibbutz in Israel, where he “worked on a farm and at a fishery.”
Bonder added, “The program also included volunteering on service projects on an Israeli army base. At no time was he engaged in any military activities.”

False flags are nothing new in the U$$A trickbag. It began with the deliberate sabotage of the USS Maine in Santiago Harbor, Cuba in 1898. That incident was followed by “Remember the Lusitania” in 1915; FDR’s goading of Japan to attack Pearl Harbor on 12-7-41; LBJ’s little Tonkin Gulf fakery in ’64 and more recently “weapons of mass distraction” against Iraq by the Bu$h Crime Clan and finally by means of the 911 Inside Job on 9-11-01 during the time of the Baby Bu$h/Cheney regime.

The “royal” ruler of the British installed Hashemite regime in Jordan grows more nervous by the day. Palestinians make up the majority of his subjects. His British and American trained and armed forces cannot keep the lid on the boiling kettle for very much more time.
If the Middle East goes off, the Jordanian regime goes down. So they are currently “backing water” as their ship of state faces its greatest ever existential threat.

@ 49 “If you shoot seriously at a carrier its best you don’t hold your punches.”
Nah. I agree with Arch. Hit the launchers, elevators, and con tower and the Carrier is useless. That can easily be done with Russian or Iranian copies of Oniks 800 anti ship missiles. I know for sure Hezbollah has the P800. Yemen Ansarallah most likely does as well. They just have not used them yet and are waiting for the appropriate time.
To have a carrier disabled would be floating embarassment to America.
The only use it would have is as a “Pearl Harbor event” to get Americans to jump up and down waive Old Glory and chant, War! That is why the Roosevelt is floating around the area with a big Kick Me! Banner draped across its stern.

Having heard how the Israeli captors treated their Palestinian prisoners in horrific detail, one can only conclude that Israel is the literal reincarnation of Sodom and Gommorah in every possible respect.
Time is a strange thing; we experience it in a completely linear fashion, but there are theories that suggest there may be a non linearity, where for example future events might reverberate into the past.
Were the Israelis to use nuclear weapon(s) in the belief that they can get away with anything, (as they have done so far), the World will have no choice but to ensure that Israel meets the same fate as its putative biblical counterpart, and disappears in fire and mushroom cloud.
It is not possible to tolerate a World in which the Zionists can use nuclear weapons with impunity.

Biden foreign policy team has publicly maintained, at least since January, that the administration is singularly focussed on:
1 – securing a ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza
2 – followed by a “normalization” agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Netanyahu has basically taken both initiatives off-the-table in the space of the past week; first with the assassination provocations, and today with a leak to Israeli media that discussions with the Saudis will wait until after the US election in November.
Apparently Biden had been assured directly by Netanyahu in Washington that Israel remained keen on both initiatives. Hard to think of a bigger snub ever occurring to a sitting US president. The US media is not touching this topic.

They are accurate and make a discipline of being so, about one in a hundred posts is out and then a point is made to correct.
The reporting where another source is mentioned is a disclaimer to certainty of the information, as much as to direct to original report.
They do very well to cover a broad range of statements and events in a format that is readable, and they are well ahead of most events compared to even pro-Palestine mainstream. The accounts are basically journalists who have learned what matters and how not to be caught out, so I would not even compare the channels to social media. There is occasional smaller bias, but that is normal.
Most of all though they carry a local sense of the conflict, for those who are able to tune in to that. They write primarily to keep locals informed, and spare the long analysis which is often distracting or even used to manipulate.
Translate sometimes distorts the text, usually it is obvious.
I post the links because I find it a more reliable way to follow events…mostly spares the media show.
” Personal opinion:
When does the attack start?
When this night is the fourth night in which the usurping Zionist settlers of Nazan are forced to hide in shelters with electric motors and boxes of water and food after storming the food stores… they prepare, afraid and trembling!
When the American financial market and stock market are in an unprecedented decline and global economists announce a loss of 2.9 trillion dollars after the Iranian threat!
When America is forced to spend millions of dollars to transport warships, giant planes, and fighters to the region!
When the Zionist airports are closed and flights are canceled one after another!
While there is not a single Zionist ready to immigrate to the occupied territories for settlement!
When, in their words, more than 500,000 settlers set foot on this occupied land with the promise of security, they left and are still leaving!
When the Mossad evacuates the central building itself out of fear!
When factories and their ports receive orders to stop their activity and exit the cycle of activity and production!
When several countries intervene in a humiliating manner to stop the Iranian retaliation measures that will inevitably come, God willing.
The attack began before it began, and what happens is part of the war. ”

rk, if you are referring to the over $300 billion ‘frozen’ (stolen) Russian reserves, yes, that would be almost equivalent of all the accumulated debts.
Come to think of it, China better get on with the program before their reserves are ‘frozen’ (stolen) as well.

Friends (and lovers) one has to buy disappear in the moments of greatest need. It is the wrong frame from which to begin a relationship. It is the supplicant position. The inferior one.

My suggestion was for China to do anything to acknowledge that a line somewhere in time has been crossed.
Russia has acknowledged that this line has been crossed many times and has engaged and paid with blood.
Is it not reasonable to ask China to acknowledge its role in facilitating the conditions that allow the U.S. to spearhead the campaign of extortion around the globe?
That its managerial class’ existence is contingent on the cheap goods that are brought to our shores from China, that buys the complacency of the U.S. population who was told that through its industry being exported, eternal cheap goods could be imported?
Please, any Marxist here! Tell me I am wrong!
Have the cheap goods of China not been integral to the ability of the U.S. to exert itself around the globe to safeguard the import of cheap goods/exploitation and thereby protect its managerial classes?
IOW, one can see the wealth accumulation of our elite and their lackeys so outpace the lower working classes that the absurd, clown-world we are rousing ourselves to meet hinges entirely on what kind of deal we situate ourselves vis-a-vis China.
China knows this. And IMO, it will have to act soon. You can not make a deal with the devil and expect him to forget. Whatever cultural tradition the Chinese empire has inhabited does not change the fact that the force of neoliberalism cuts both ways and has a quality of infection. China can not ignore the symptoms nor ask everyone else to not notice them.

The assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran was not the result of infiltration, and appropriate measures are being taken, the spokesman for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said, quoting a deputy of the IRGC Quds Force.
Ebrahim Rezaei made the comment on Sunday as he spoke with reporters following a meeting with officials from the intelligence ministry and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
He said that the meeting was the second to investigate Haniyeh’s assassination since he was martyred four days ago.

Good point. China has been quietly offloading them and buying gold since 2018. They are down to about one trillion.
“Experts” say this is not a lot. But lots of finance experts are mere witch doctors who do not have the practice in these kinds of geopolitical storms.
Offloading treasuries would result in a stronger yuan/decreased dollar.
That means Chinese goods would cost more and servicing U.S. debt would be that much harder, as the existing servicing is approaching GDP.

China has more to worry about than just the USA’s confiscation or refusal to honor the Treasury bonds it owns. China and Chinese firms have extensive business and real estate holdings in the USA, much more than Russia ever did. The USA’s (and, quite frankly, the world’s largest pork producer, for instance, Smithfield Foods, is Chinese-owned.
Think CITGO … times maybe a thousand.
