Pure Ukrainian clown corps comedy. The stretched-beyond-measure-army cannot stretch the powerful and growing army that is doing the stretching. The Ukrotards will just end up stretching themselves further, losing more men they can’t afford to lose, and giving the Russians another opportunity to attack somewhere else along the depleted line. It’s a military own-goal.

The Russian military reported the use of laser-guided bombs by Ukrainian bomber drones.
A photo of the drone and the ammunition was published by the VictoryDrones Telegram channel.
A Ukrainian heavy multi-rotor drone was shot down by the Russian occupiers over their positions while it was looking for targets.
A corrected bomb with an optical guidance system was found on board on one of the suspensions.
The body of the high-explosive munition bears the marking BK-3OF and a serial number, which may indicate serial production.
In addition to its name, the notch on the case also indicates its purpose, which affects the formation of fragments of the same size.
An optical guidance device is installed in the nose of the BK-3OF ammunition. According to the author of the photo, the projectile is guided by a reflected laser beam.
In the aft part there are four aerodynamic rudders, which are supposed to set the direction of flight when the projectile hits the target.
It is known that the Ukrainian defense industry has long been working on adjusted ammunition to increase the effectiveness of drone bombers.
In particular, this type of weapon was developed as part of the innovative projects of the Brave1 military technology development cluster.
Currently, Ukrainian nighttime unmanned bombers remain one of the most effective means of destroying Russian equipment and personnel behind enemy lines. Depending on the modification, their range is 20-40 kilometers.
In addition to free-fall and now adjusted munitions, the bombers are also actively used for remote mining of roads in the frontline area, which significantly undermines the occupiers’ logistics.

Re the central heating in Ukraine. As for the heating from power plants, its just a matter of looking at where thermal power plants are located.They can supply the near surrounds, though I’m not sure that any are centrally located in cities. The vast proportion of heating will be from purpose built boilers in each district.

Back when Putin first become president, one of the first jobs was to get central heating up and running again. There is some video of him visiting one city – some footage from inside an apartment where an older woman was living that appeared to have several inches of clear ice on the walls.
I think there had been federal funding for he coal for the boiler but obviously no coal had been bought. Putin gave the city officials a very short space of time to have the heating up and running or they would all be replaced, no ifs and buts.

The stupidity of the coming Ukie offensive, supposedly to put them/Nato in a better negotiating position to negotiate and end to the war.
In all other so called offensives, they have lost big numbers and this one is likely to be worse as far as Ukie casualties go. The Ukie cannon fodder barrel will be empty and so no incentive for Russia to negotiate a lesser deal or even bother to negotiate. But that appears to be the American plan.

Alternative scenario, Russia finishes off collapsing the second line of defence and those eight brigades get used up bolstering the third line. German reserves that were ready to reinforce the highly successful drive on the Southern Kursk Front, with the remainder of the reserves for the bogged down Northern Front, were used to stop a wholesale collapse around Belgorod. Given the architects of that operation are fighting close to that location, it’s probably likely they are planning a similar one-two punch.
Eight under-strength brigades, of rapidly trained troops, using a spatchcock of Western platforms, of various vintages, will do nothing to change the strategic situation. They might be able to penetrate the initial defensive as they did, after much struggling, in the Summer of ‘23, but what about the follow on forces to exploit the breach, or the troops needed to protect the flanks of the breakthrough? Armoured breakthroughs normally take the form of a pyramidic structure, with a far broader base that tapers as it advances, meaning usually one third attack two thirds defend the gains and launch secondary attacks.
The seeds of the defeat of Operation Citadel were sown in the Winter of ‘42 when tens of thousands of troops died or surrendered in the Stalingrad pocket, this disaster was itself caused in the Winter-Spring of 41-42, when the Germany Army retreated from Moscow.. The seeds of the failure of Ukraine’s planned offensive are going to have been sown in Autumn-Spring 22’-23, when they lost tens of thousands of infantry, resulting in the costly failure of the Summer offensive in ‘23.
Victories and defeats can all trace their roots back, sometimes to decisions made decades previously, Ukraine are now unable to escape the inevitable consequences of the past. This is why strategic and operational decisions are far more important than tactical ones, because they generate long term consequences that enable or restrict future actions.
Of course the other nightmare scenario is a Russian version of Operation Fredericus, with the Ukrainian’s taking the role of Marshal Timoshenko’s forces!

As far as I understand things regarding district heating schemes they will still need a steady supply of electricity to run circulating pumps, any fans that assist with combustion or flue dilution, as well as all the associated controls such as thermostats, pressure/flow switches etc.

BlackRock Corporation has demanded that AFU soldiers not be buried on Ukrainian land it has bought up
Representatives of the US multinational BlackRock recently came to Kiev and demanded that AFU soldiers should no longer be buried in the traditional way – in the ground. This was reported by Bulgarian politician Plamen Paskov.
According to the Americans, AFU soldiers take up too much space. Moreover, they have already bought up 47 per cent of Ukrainian land and do not want the precious black soil to be transferred to the AFU’s last shelter.
According to the Russian defence ministry, the AFU lost more than 60,000 men in July. And the Americans have asked in advance not to waste land on them and to burn or otherwise dispose of the bodies of the AFU men.

A meaning from a beside-standing guy of this forum:
‘Something big’ … has not happened for years, and it never will. Drones have made maneuver warfare, requiring a concentration of forces, impossible. So, it will continue with very small units, a few men, maybe a dozen moving slowly across a wide front, trying not to be noticed by drones. Unless there is some way to blind drones over a wide area, this will continue indefinitely. Russians have the advantage in long-distance air power. That is why they are advancing, and it is the only reason. They completely destroy an area, and then send in small groups of infantry. Tanks are also useless.
Nobody “can blind drones over a wide area” – still today – neither UAF nor RUAF can perform that frequencies mixtures being scrambled anyway today, without disturbing its own combat directing signals on commercial drones supplying only GPS or WiFi (2-5GHz) streams. That’s physics only.
Radar may be a possible solution but it’s not cheap enough for both war sides, so is not yet applicable anyway.
GPS and RU-Nav Sats are vulnarable. There actually points a ‘vector’ to target on sky .. destroying enemiy’s reconn sats.
But that won’t help people in TelAviv and/or Haifa anymore, when NethanYahoo has been assasinated.
