News & views related with the war in Ukraine …

Comments

RT reporting that Dutch F-16s will be in Ukraine soon. I believe Russia has said that any F-16 will be assumed to be carrying nuclear weapons. What is NATO doing? This is like a two-and-a-half year long Cuban Missile Crisis, and no Kennedy or Kruschev in sight.

There is absolutely no fear of Russia, by Ukraine or its allies. This was posted just today :
https://x.com/Megatron_ron/status/1807791373778907461

“Don’t even think about signing a truce, because it will be very bad for you”
Chief of Staff of the Azov Regiment Krotevich says:
“No peace without victory. There is only one victory – not a single Russian soldier on Ukrainian territory.
We will not leave this war to our descendants, and you won’t either because if you try, it will be bad. For you and for them. If this is a test, don’t even think about it.”

The Ukrainians aren’t tired of fighting, not by a long shot.

I’m dubious about the claim. Ive no doubt the dutch said it, but IMO, it could be another nugget of PR to bolster flagging morale on the frontlines. Theyre trying to keep the show going until the next summit/peace conference/war rally…..whichever comes first.

Neither were the Nazis in the dying days of WW2. In fact they sent children and old men to the barricades in berlin.
Not being “tired of fighting” and being forced to fight can be a grey area when losing.

I hope you’re right! I keep thinking about all the equipment ‘scheduled for delivery’ that was, as far as I could tell, already there. NATO is pushing us right to the brink, and I think they’d rather go over the edge than let other people have some room on ‘their planet’. Honestly, it’s bugging me out.

Also if things were peachy on the Ukr side, why would talk of a truce on bad terms even arise?
The Bandera droogs are nervous because they know their lives & cause are forfeit. Unless they win.
Which is of course impossible.

Been hearing this for 2+ years now.
Ukraine still have millions of (semi) able-bodied people they can throw into the meatgrinder as long as the West is willing to furnish them with weapons. And the refugees who fled to ZATO countries may get repatriated… don’t forget there’s millions of them, too.
ZATO are now mulling Ukraine’s calls for them to impose a “no fly” zone over Western Ukraine with banks of Patriot missiles stationed in ZATO countries bordering Ukraine. Ostensibly this is with the goal of preventing Russia completely destroying Ukraine’s energy infrastucture.
Frankly, I have idea how effective these would be in preventing Russia continuing to degrade Ukraine’s ability to sustain the war, but it does show yet another step up the escalation ladder.

Came here to say that’s some shit talking ‘hard man’ nazi who has sat on his ass in the rear for the entire war. Was not disappointed. Quoting that terrorist as indication that the society of Ukraine wants to keep fighting Russia for Maerican interests is beyond delusion. But do carry on telling yourself your leaders and country are anything other than an immoral fascist Nazi revanchist state for whom no atrocity is too much provided they leep getting paid.
I’m talking about Maerica. The disuinted states of Maerica. As it’s infrastructure and society crumbles its bellicosity and imbecility does as well.
Ukraines final collapse has perhaps begun. The fraying has become snapping. Dedicated fans of the nazi regime are suddenly discovering that every official has another car and house since the war started…funny what corruption does to morale. I particularly liked the picture of thousands of dragons teeth dumped beside a random lake.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Azov is the main anti-retreat battalion shooting AFU in the backs and committing other heinous crimes. I think most of the hardcore veterans are dead, during the battle in Avdeevka they hit Azov brigades many times, first in their Selidovo staging area and later when they were supposed to keep the ‘road of death’ out of Avdeevka open. So Azov was built with new mobilized people over a few months and it isn’t really the same ever again, obviously there are some spokesman left to make hardcore statements.

Don’t worry you won’t have to roll your eyes and pretend you know what you’re talking about for much longer. You could throw every Western dollar into Ukraine and it wouldn’t make a lick of difference. NATO couldn’t enforce a no fly zone. It’s all obvious and extreme desperation as the retards that play dress up as generals and national security experts in the West are well aware. They just need to keep the grift going a little longer..planning exist strategies I expect to be just as successful as their Ukraine gambit.

My understanding of the Nato ‘no-fly zone’ it is mostly talked about by EU politicians (who are idiots and understand nothing of air defense) and some Nato political commissars. Most likely they want it because Ukraine is again turning into a massive sinkhole of electricity with no own generation.
A Patriot PAC-battery takes something like 20-30min to deploy or de-deploy so theoretically RUAF could humiliate the launchers even in western Ukraine, since the stories of them shooting down Kinzhals are BS. And they could still hit whatever energy generation or other facilities they want.

There is no independent Ukraine that makes any decision on its own, there is only bunch of nazi cunts on top working for the (local and Israheli) jewish and anglo-saxon interests and the rest is mindless, scared populace dying in isolation or trying to escape to the west while selling their bodies.
Where the west really succeeded is total brainwashing of the (old) Russian population of ukraine that is now used to keep their brothers busy while the sick cunts in london and washington delay getting reamed by the big russian nuclear dicks.

.
The third reason is the pressure exerted on Zelensky by right-wing nationalists, especially the neo-Nazi Azov Brigade. Direct evidence of this is the dismissal of Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol, the commander-in-chief of the Kiev armed forces in the Kharkov region.
.
Correct, but the question is, where will these Nazi forces go in the event of a capitulation, where will these Nazis go if there is a rest of Ukraine in the western part of the country?
Correct, these Nazis are spreading very quickly to the rest of the world, mainly in the EU, because Poland and Romania will want to keep this problem at bay.
ALTHOUGH no EU = NATO country could afford to have terror carried out against Russia from their territory

The problem with reducing the situation to the words or actions of one person is that even in Ukraine today, no one person can speak for a majority of Ukrainians.
It’s a “trick” we see all of the time. We talk about America and its President. We don’t talk about the real movers and shakers in the bureaucracy, we don’t hold the Speaker of the House or Leader of the Senate to account. We rarely talk about Zuckerberg and the oligarchic power he wields, not to mention Obama manipulating things from the shadows.
We focus on a moron like Justin Trudeau and ignore the real structure of the Canadian government, likewise in France, UK, Germany, etc.
Just because some Nazi from Azoz says “no end until victory!” doesn’t mean that anyone whose father or uncle was picked up off of the street in Southern Ukraine believes it. No one whose power is rationed and it’s becoming difficult to access the goods they could get 4 years ago.
That one Azoz fanatic is a single grenade away from Valhalla, and that insane voice will be quickly forgotten.
In the meantime, his demented rhetoric serves the Russian cause. They want Azoz out front and loud. Easier to de-nazify if you know where all of the Nazis are because they can’t shut up.

About Azov and Kraken because of elite fighters
.
Prisoner: Nazi battalion Kraken escapes from Chasov Yar faster than other units
Ukrainian prisoner of war Valentin Gridnev reported in an interview with the RIA Novosti news agency that the nationalist battalion Kraken fled from its positions in the village of Chasov Yar before the regular units of the Ukrainian army. The agency’s interlocutor explained that the command had promised him that the Kraken fighters, who occupied the second line of defense at Chasov Yar, would provide them with fire cover.
The nationalist radical unit Kraken has always been known for its atrocities against the civilian population and the torture of prisoners of war. However, in Chasov Yar they showed no courage, according to the prisoner of war. Gridnev tells how the Kraken fighters abandoned everyone else in the positions:
“Your stormtroopers took one building, then the second, then the third – they were getting closer and closer to the building, and the Kraken probably thought, ‘What do we need this for?’ And that was it. So we were told beforehand that they would give us cover, but when we arrived, their last armored vehicle was already leaving at the same time early in the morning.”

The thing they are using in Finland as the scare crow is the ‘illegal immigrants coming from Russia’. So apparently the end goal is to mobilize using illegal immigration as the pretext. It’s a crappy reason for sure because they don’t really have many other options.
Theoretically, if 10 immigrants arrive from Russia, they could simply say a 5000 immigrants are going to invade soon and hence mobilize people to ‘defend the border’, kind of like happened in 2023. Another thing of interest what happen in Nato fringe countries if Russia, say, shoots down a manned British AWACS.

The nazis are cowards yes, one other factor that could also cause this is the Azov/Kraken were mostly depleted earlier and had to use newly mobilized people to make up the slack, who could be more susceptible to retreat from smaller pressure.

A conflict that takes a turn like this usually triggers an internal civil war, with Nazis attacking non-Nazis and regular citizens. In the end, all mercenaries will be killed or arrested. It will take years to purge society out of a current nationalism.
With corruption at an all-time high, fertile territory sold to foreigners, no workers, and no energy, Ukraine will undoubtedly surrender, and Western bastards will receive nothing in return except hate and a tremendous loss of investment that they will have to explain to their tamers and fiduciary audits.
I fold my Ouija and Tarot helpers.

I’m thinking that this is stupid Ukie trick combined with some of the usual “we ain’t got no plan” deck shuffling from NATO. Any serious concentration of troops within Ukraine on the border of Belarus would be met with Mr. FAB. Another huge own goal. More likely, it’s a media campaign using fakes and a few scattered units of non-combat ready recruits along with some fresh coat of paint slapped on vehicles.
The 20,000 number probably reflects numbers on the Polish border. Best to ignore such things. It’s noise.

Yes, of course Orban = Hungary also has its own interests and certainly keeps an eye on the territory that was taken away from them by Stalin.
As do Poland and Romania.
Putin’s interest will be limited when it comes to this western Ukraine… because, as I said… WHERE will these Azov / Kragken flee to when it all ends?
Exactly to these areas, which may then become part of the EU, but only if Odessa does not fall into Russian hands, because without Odessa the rest is not viable and would cost billions more to keep alive.
The millions of hectares that the western corporations bought are gone anyway, the raw materials ore uranium steel coal black earth are in the east, Odessa would be another reason for NATO and the EU to keep Ukraine, their nuclear power plants would ALL have to be renovated and renewed and, at least in the short term, will NOT run without fuel rods from Russia.
So Ukraine is a bottomless pit and corrupt to boot

https://t.me/bayraktar1070/2369

This morning Belgorod was left without electricity. Ukrainian troops not only deliberately target civilian vehicles, but also consistently disable energy facilities. Bankova’s vector has remained unchanged since the first attacks on the Belgorod region.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to terrorize the city’s population with shelling from MLRS as before – thanks to the troops of the “North” group for this result, who managed to move the front line in the Kharkov region. Although the Ukrainians still have directions where they can still fire missiles at Belgorod, they are afraid to do so in view of the work of our artillery, OTRK and Lancet crews.
Bankova’s obvious goal is to achieve such a degree of terror that border residents will leave these territories en masse, which will become a “gray zone” to a depth of 20+ kilometers. Enemy FPV drones are now flying approximately this distance, deliberately killing civilians, destroying farms and attacking infrastructure.
In my opinion, in addition to the obvious damage to the economy of the region, the goal of terror is to provoke mass unrest in the Belgorod region, as well as the additional attraction of Russian troops here. All this will lead to an additional increase in tension in society throughout Russia.

About the sanitary zone
Comrades Two majors and a Belarusian security officer are discussing the prospects of the border area and the creation of that very sanitary or buffer zone, in connection with another blow to a civilian car with a family in the Belgorod region.
I report, comrades: the Ukronazis started chasing civilian cars at least a couple of months ago. These are not random hits, but targeted attacks on civilians.
When they first started talking about sanitary zones, the situation with weapons was different: fpv drones flew at 3-5 km, and shells flew at 30-40. But even then we said that it would be difficult to create a sanitary zone, because 40 km from the Belgorod border is already Kharkov.
Today, the weapons that are created or supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become even longer-range. In these conditions, although forced, we state that it is necessary to create a buffer zone on our territory. This will not be a “gray zone”, but a territory of exclusively military presence.
No matter how it sounds, the main thing is to save the lives of civilians – after all, this is why the Northern Military District began.
In this regard, of course, it is necessary for the Federal Center to speed up financing programs for the resettlement of people from the border areas. In the Kursk region alone, almost 2,000 families have been on the waiting list for resettlement for a long time, but the need is much higher, because part of the population does not believe that they will be resettled, looking at how the queue is moving. The region will not be able to cope with this, especially since the Kursk region was subsidized even before the Northern Military District.
So, there are questions not only for the General Staff about another dead family, but also for those officials who are pressing for money for resettlement from the border area. If I’m not mistaken, this is being resolved along Khusnullin’s line, that is, approximately in the same place where the issue of resettling migrants from Central Asia to Russia is being resolved. But the priorities there, as we see, are not yet in favor of border residents.
We must admit that a sanitary zone in the form of some kind of strip through which enemy shells will not fly is a fantasy. And if we talk about the war with NATO, then all of Ukraine is a sanitary zone. She needs to be freed. And as soon as the residents of Ukraine remember that they are Russians, then this territory will need to be defended. This means, in the end, we now just need to take care of preserving the lives of Russians and continue to win at the front.

This is not the first time, comrade Belarusian security official, that the Supreme Commander sets tasks (in this case, regarding the “buffer zone”), but their practical implementation is lame.
Probably everything is heading towards a change in the leadership of the respected General Staff. But not all at once.

A lengthy piece, detailing some of the finances of leading figures in the Ukrainian hierarchy from https://regionews.ua/ukr/articles/1706796757-milyonni-dohodi-godinnik-hublot-i-lanos-skilki-zaroblyayut-i-shcho-zadeklaruvali-kerivniki-oblastey (via Translate Web Pages)

Millions of incomes, Hublot watches and Lanos: how much they earn and what the heads of the regions declared
Last fall, Ukraine resumed mandatory declaration of income for officials. The fabulous wealth of those in power of various kinds, military commissars and people’s deputies, which they acquired during the full-scale war, caused a great public outcry. Therefore, the state, of course, not without “encouragement” from international partners, decided to disclose the income and wealth of all officials for the war years of 2022 and 2023.
RegioNews analyzed the declarations of the heads of regional military administrations to tell what “Volodymyr Zelensky’s people” own and how much they earn in the regions.
First of all, it should be noted that at the time of writing this text, out of 23 heads of regional military administrations, three have not yet submitted their declarations for previous years. We are talking about the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper; the head of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, and the head of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yurii Malashko.
The same 20 heads of regions and their wives, according to declarations for 2022, all of them have almost 15 million hryvnias in bank accounts, as well as more than 500 thousand. in euro currency. They keep more than $2 million, about €1 million and almost UAH 39 million in cash. Heads of regional military administrations and their wives own almost 90 thousand hectares. square meters of land in different regions of the country. They also have 27 apartments with a total area of almost 2.7 thousand square meters. Kv. meters, as well as 10 residential buildings with an area of about 2 thousand square meters. Kv. Metres.
I would like to note one very positive point that unites all the current heads of the regions. None of them or their family bought real estate in 2022, when the full-scale Russian invasion began. However, some of them bought cars or gave their wives expensive watches worth more than 400 thousand rubles. UAH.
But in 2021, a year before the full-scale war, a lot of families of regional leaders – either by pure coincidence or on purpose – became owners of apartments and land. The lion’s share of this real estate is registered to wives. At the same time, there are also heads of regional military administrations who officially have neither their own housing nor their own cars. And fortunately, almost no one owns any extravagant jewelry, antiques and other items of “exquisite taste”, which in one way or another can cause a public outcry.
The richest head of the RMA in Ukraine is the head of the Kirovohrad region , Andriy Raikovych . The official in his declaration for 2022 indicated that he received 217 thousand rubles. hryvnias of pensions and more than 2 million hryvnias of dividends. In total, he gets a very, very significant figure – UAH 140 million at the current exchange rate.
During 2022, Andriy Raikovych did not buy any real estate or cars. However, he has a 2019 Range Rover, which he purchased in the same year for UAH 5.7 million.

Kv. Metres.
Among the curiosities in the declaration, for example, you can find an oven for 250 thousand rubles. UAH, as well as a refrigerator for 306 thousand rubles. UAH. In addition, he declared weapons, namely, a carbine worth more than 300 thousand hryvnias. UAH.
also not a poor person Serhii Tyurin, the acting head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, , because in his declaration for 2022 he indicated that he had more than 300 thousand rubles. dollars in cash, but in bank accounts – a little less than 20 thousand. UAH. In 2022, he earned 554 thousand rubles. UAH, holding the position of first deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration at that time.
Tyurin rents an apartment with an area of 54 square meters. meter in Khmelnitsky. The official has no cars.
As for jewelry, he declared an ancient icon, a women’s gold watch and a gold bracelet with precious stones.
Maksym Kozytskyi , who is the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration , also has a considerable fortune. In the declaration for 2022, the official noted that he then kept about 25 thousand rubles in banks. euro, more than 75 thous. dollars, and more than 1.4 million. UAH. The official kept 21 thousand rubles in cash. euro, 11 thous. dollars and 85 thous. UAH. The official’s wife had more than 650 thousand rubles. hryvnias in bank accounts, as well as 25 thous. Dollars.
In 2022, the official earned more than 850 thousand rubles. UAH. Kozytskyi also declared 1 million hryvnias as a gift from his father.

UAH from independent professional activities. She also received UAH 1.3 million in income from the sale of real estate.
Yuriy Pohuliaiko’s family did not buy real estate and cars during 2022. However, Pohuliaiko’s wife and children have a 138 square meter apartment in Kyiv. meters. Another apartment with an area of more than 100 square meters. The official’s wife has meters in Luhansk. Putin would never agree to that and Orban should know that too!!
A pause would only have advantages for Ukraine and the West, but not for Russia. He would be stupid to stop the mill now that it is coming to an end.
Only Orban knows why, at least officially, he is giving a CANCELLING of fire as the reason for his trip.

Unprecedented damage in Mirgorod, peacemaker Orban, Ukraine asks for energy from Europe. Results July 2:
Ukrainian aviation suffers unacceptable losses; Orban called on Zelensky to cease fire; Ukraine’s energy sector cannot cope with the load.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered “unprecedented damage” in the Poltava region
. In the first half of the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the defeat of Ukrainian aircraft at the Mirgorod military airfield in the Poltava region.
“Crews of the Iskander-M OTRK of the Russian Armed Forces carried out a group missile strike on the aircraft parking lot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the attack, the Russian army destroyed five operational and damaged two Su-27 multi-role fighters under repair,” the military department said in a press release.
.
On energy from Europe: Well, it will probably be tight in the winter…given the expensive uranium for the French, wind and solar energy from Germany, coal shortages in Poland, and freaking gas from the USA that is becoming increasingly scarce.
Tip Mr Sylenski: reopen the gas pipeline. Tip to the EU: open N2.

“Avdeevka 2-0” – then everywhere
Large front report (text version) by Marat Khairulin
Image 1:
As it became known today, in one of the areas east of the settlement of Bugrovatka assault groups of our “Severians” (North Group) crossed the Seversky Donets River and are gaining a foothold on the occupied bridgehead.
In the Kharkov direction, there has recently been increased activity of our armed forces in the area of the settlement of Zolochev, where the number of strikes against Ukrainian Armed Forces targets has increased. There were also clashes in the border area near the settlement of Sotnichiy Kazschok. All this does not allow the AFU to concentrate only on the Liptsevsky and Volchansky areas and forces them to stretch their forces.
In the Liptsev area, the enemy has not shown much activity in the last week. Periodic counterattacks by small groups ended predictably sad. Our reconnaissance drones constantly monitor the terrain, identifying guns, equipment and ukro positions, which are then destroyed by artillery, aviation, and by TOS.
Due to losses, the AFU sent the 1004th separate battalion and the 33rd assault battalion for reorganization, and the remnants of the 116th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were given to the 92nd brigade sitting there, which was originally formed from residents of the Kharkov region, but now, in order to compensate for the losses , they are already recruiting throughout Ukraine.
Image 2:
In Volchansk, the Russian Armed Forces have been actively pushing through the defense of the AFU in the area of high-rise buildings in recent days. First, it was broken through at Kolokoltseva Street by our armored group, and control was established over the territory between Pushkinskaya Street and high-rise buildings. After which, the units of our army knocked out the Ukrops northwest of the microdistrict, where they had previously been able to push us back.
Then the assault groups came from the west and took a house on Sobornaya Street and a house on Korolenko Street.
The enemy, meanwhile, is making attempts to transfer reinforcements from the southern part of the city, but all of them are tracked using reconnaissance drones and are stopped by strikes. During one of these attempts, a tank bridge layer, with the help of which they tried to restore the crossing, was destroyed.
In the Kupyansk direction, Stepovaya Novoselovka has been completely taken under control, as stated by the Ministry of Defense. Our units are improving their positions in the Sinkovka and Stelmakhovka areas. We attack the latter with armored groups, trying to gain a foothold on the outskirts. Over the past week there have also been small advances in the area of Nevsky and Novovodyanoy.
In the Seversky direction, our armed forces liberated two settlements – Razdolovka and Spornoe. In the latter, for a long time, ours organized a total meat grinder for the Ukrainians, without trying to move forward, and only now we took a series of assault actions and liberated Spornoe.
In Razdolovka, units of our army continue to gain a foothold and also put pressure on the enemy along the railway. Intelligence monitors the movement of equipment, temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian military and ammunition depots; thanks to this data, an ammunition depot in Seversk was destroyed.
There are literally four areas left in the Kanal district of Chasov Yar under the control of the AFU. Recently, units of our army transferred under their control to the north of the microdistrict a large part of the Orlova tract in the east of the canal, and in some places they went beyond it. The enemy’s transfer of reinforcements to Chasov Yar did not change the situation, and the AFU had a critical situation. A small part of the forest north of Oleg Koshevoy Street, under their control, still allows the enemy to use the passage to the main part of the city, but with great risk, since ours keep all movement routes under fire control.
Barrel artillery and aviation are actively used on the buildings remaining behind the AFU and on the territory near the canal.
This week ours again entered Novgorodskoye (New York), gaining a foothold there on the southern outskirts. In the center of the village, attacks are carried out on enemy positions. The FAB-3000 was also used, which was previously used in conjunction with the UMPC only in the Kharkov direction.
The village of Shumy has been completely liberated, and we continue to advance to Kirovo along the railway towards the village of Druzhba. Moreover, given the expansion of control by our units along the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, fire pressure is already coming from both sides.
On the eastern outskirts of Kirovo, ours continue to gain a foothold in the residential sector.
Quite unexpected for everyone was the breakthrough to the area of high-rise buildings in the southern part of the settlement through Artyomovo.
Interesting information was received from the Ministry of Defense that, as in Avdievka, military personnel of the “Veterans” detachment used an abandoned tunnel more than three kilometers long, through which, having previously cleared it, they secured their supplies and went behind the rear of a well-fortified enemy stronghold, equipped with underground shelters and long-term firing points.
Let us note that “Veterans” operate together with the 132nd brigade of the 1st Army Corps on the right flank (northern side of Kirovo), and on the left, where there was a breakthrough to the high-rise buildings, the 132nd brigade operates independently.
Our aviation is operating in the entire direction, dismantling the AFU positions with massive attacks.
Image 3:
In the Pokrovsky section of the Donetsk direction, our armed forces have completely liberated the settlement of Novoaleksandrovka and cleared the territory to the south of it.
To the north of the village of Sokol, our units occupied the Samoilov gully and leveled the Novoaleksandrovka-Sokol line, advancing towards Lozovatovsky and Progress.
In Sokol, our fighters reached its western part, pushing the enemy back to the village of Voskhod. Evgenovka, located to the north, is under the control of our army by more than half.
Also, during the fighting, the settlement of Novopokrovskoye was liberated.
In the area of Novoselovka Pervaya, the outskirts of which had actually already been reached after occupying the landing site located north of Umansky, assault operations began. For now, most likely, this is reconnaissance in force. But the situation for the AFU here (and not only here) is worsening every day.
Our armed forces also advanced in the Yasnobrodovka area, taking control of the territory northeast of it, reaching the natural boundary formed by the river. In the village itself, ours advanced along the pond and, according to incoming information, forced the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who were caught in a pincer movement, to retreat across the river.
Fierce fighting continues on the banks of the Karlovskoye Reservoir. On the southern bank, our fighters re-entered the territory of the dachas located in front of Karlovka.
In Krasnogorovka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to leave the Vostochny and Solnechny districts after the defense of the “citadel” was broken through, and our units occupied a number of high-rise buildings, forming a “bag” in this place, which threatens to be pulled together as ours advance in the residential sector to the west of the microdistrict.
We also advanced in the northeast of the city along the Lozovaya River. The battles are being fought for the central hospital, to the area of which the AFU are retreating, pursuing two goals – not to be surrounded and to strengthen the defense of the hospital.
In the western part of the city, our fighters are advancing in the residential sector, knocking out the enemy from houses equipped as strongholds.
In the Yuzhnodonetsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces moved closer to Konstantinovka, while expanding control in the fields to the north and south of it. Reconnaissance is being carried out in force on the outskirts of the populated area. Units of our army are approaching the highway leading to Ugledar, having advanced both in the Sladkoye area and in the Vladimirovka area, where the “pocket” with the AFU sitting in it was practically eliminated.
Advancement along the highway becomes unsafe for the enemy, and it is a key route for supplying the Ugledar group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Velikonovoselovsky direction in Urozhaynoye, there are battles for the central part of the village. The enemy from the Makarovka area is trying to counterattack in the direction of Staromayorsky. Our artillery strikes, stopping these attempts.
Strikes are being delivered to both Vremevka and Velikaya Novoselovka, including by TOS. The active work of our artillery in the area of the settlement of Prechistovka, which is a logistics hub in this direction, is also noted.
In the Zaporozhye direction, near the villages of Rabotino and Verbovoye, positional battles are taking place. Our units are striking enemy targets and positions in the Malaya Tokmachka area. During the week, trains transporting equipment were hit twice, including by Calibers. The strikes were carried out on stations in the settlements of Ukrainka and Volnyansk.

The NYT last Sunday had its third or fourth in depth report about severe brain injuries American soldiers are getting from repeated exposures to explosive ordinance. These are different injuries from the brain injuries suffered by those surviving a single improvised explosive device or rocket attack. These are cumulative brain injuries, just as area the TBI’s suffered by football players who are exposed to repeated concussions. Except these are injuries. result from shock waves caused by firing weapons hundreds of times over military careers. The shock waves pass through brain tissue creating rapidly moving liquid bubbles at the interfaces of different tissues in a phenomena known as cavitation.
This latest NYT piece is on US Navy Seals who have served for years over multiple tours of duty. Exposure comes during both missions and the intensive training that special forces are known for. These late in their service and newly retired service men in their early 40’s become different people, unable to remember things or function as they once had. Many are committing suicide, with a few donating their brains for research which is beginning to confirm the physical injury pattern is real. Yet the US military has done nothing to protect their active high end soldiers still serving and nor are special medical services being provided to retired servicemen beginning to experience the same symptoms.
I bring this up in the context of the Ukraine war, on this thread, because it is apparent that in this intensive war of attrition, this two and a half year conflict of soldiers on both sides firing thousands of artillery shells and rockets, a predictable outcome is that MANY SURVIVING WAR HEROES will suffer from similar cumulative brain injuries ten or 20 years from now. These are soldiers who in the present do not appear nowvto have suffered any injury at all.
If you watch the videos of artillery and rocket crews firing, you see the soldiers turning away with their hands over their ears. This reflex might protect from auditory damage a bit, but it will not protect their brains from the shock waves. Will Russia’s veterans, and Ukraine’s veterans, deteriorate like America’s veterans of Vietnam and subsequent wars, ending up homeless addicts on the streets blamed for their inability to remain functioning members of their families and society?
I certainly hope Russian society does a better job providing for these future veterans than the US has done for hers. Those who end up suffering from the cumulative and progressive damage of repeated close exposure to explosions will be victims just as much as those killed, those bearing shrapnel wounds, and those missing limbs and other body parts.
Regrettably this NYT article is behind a firewall, as are the earlier articles documenting cumulative progressive brain and others soft tissue injury from repeated close proximity exposure to military explosives.

Lots of brave Goebbels Nazis anchored at their desks in the West claiming ultimate victory or death. But not for them.
By all evidence Azov learned their lesson in the early days in the south and don’t have the stomach to pour their fanatics into the Front lines for ritual slaughter.
As to Orban and Zelenski, it is the only possible line to Putin.

New today 02.07
US magazine confirms: Russian airstrike destroys Ukrainian HIMARS missile depot
Russian forces have destroyed a Ukrainian warehouse with ammunition for HIMARS and ATACMS missiles in the Zaporozhye region, reports the US trade magazine Military Watch Magazine. It is becoming increasingly difficult for Kiev to use precision-guided weapons as Moscow effectively uses electronic warfare, the publication emphasizes. Therefore, the Ukrainian armed forces have switched to attacking targets deep inside Russia with long-range missiles, as they are not as well covered by air defense as the front-line units and facilities. Military Watch Magazine writes:
“A Russian airstrike on the village of Matveyevka in Zaporozhye region successfully destroyed a warehouse containing ammunition for the HIMARS rocket artillery and missile system. The warehouse reportedly contained both rocket ammunition and ATACMS short-range ballistic missiles, both of which can be fired by the system. A large convoy of ambulances reportedly drove into the affected area following the explosion. Shortly afterward, shelling of another ammunition and equipment warehouse in the nearby settlement of Kamennoye was reported.”

At any cost”: Zelensky’s office ordered Syrsky to keep the remaining positions in the LPR.
The Ukrainian authorities demanded that the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, keep the part of the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at any cost. This was reported by military expert Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources.
According to his information, this happened after Syrsky proposed to leave a number of settlements and use the released forces to strengthen the Kharkov and Donetsk directions.
However, Ukrainian leaders did not welcome such an initiative, calling Syrsky’s proposal “inappropriate from a military point of view.”
If even “General 200” and “Butcher” Syrsky propose to withdraw people, then the situation is really bad. But no one can surpass Zelensky in organizing bloodbaths.

Totally agree. Facts are facts, after all. I find it analogous in that the SMO Crisis – if you will – is Putin’s way of solving the NATO Crisis. Thank god Putin has been restrained in his solving of the crisis so far. I fear that NATO doesn’t know what restraint is, and will go all the way. Someone wrote a comment yesterday in the last Ukraine thread that about every 80 years, Western Europe invades Russia, and here we are. History rhyming, yet again.

That is what I alo think. They are not tired, they are even happy if they can fight and kill Russians. Even their death means nithing to them and their families. They ae liki ISIS on steroides.
The key fact is that, due to Putin’s politics, nobody, really nobody is afraid of Russia any more and nobody respects Russia any more.
Kremlin has also failed to create a coherent ideology that could oppose the Ukro nationalism.

“ZATO are now mulling Ukraine’s calls for them to impose a “no fly” zone over Western Ukraine with banks of Patriot missiles stationed in ZATO countries bordering Ukraine. ”
Obviously your aggressive instincts have overcome your awareness of legality. If any Russian planes were to be attacked from a third country that would be a declaration of aggressive war from that country, and would be met perfectly legally by mass missile attacks from Russia. (And NATO would be under no obligation to help).

The same old script.
Neverteless, nato is afraid of russia destroying their little proxy, and then nato would have to lose face big time. So now they try to stir poop up in asia to deflect.

With the discussion talking about the 1960s Turkey/Cuba missile crises, I was wondering what is the relationship like between Russia and Cuba?
Posted by: Bill R | Jul 2 2024 16:19 utc | 47
Very good. It also led to the somewhat funny situation where there is a statue of Fidel in Moscow while there is none in Cuba (Castro’s request). Putin has toned down the “revolution always bad” canard, has repeatedly praised the comrades and further developed relations with the Cubanos. The ChiComs are also improving further their relations with that country. Hopefully, it might lead to a reduction of the effects of the embargo at some point (I don’t expect the imperialist supremacists to ever back down).
Goes without saying that Russia isn’t willing to plsy the game of placing missiles on the island in order mirror US intentions with the NATO countries bordering Russia.

Kremlin has also failed to create a coherent ideology that could oppose the Ukro nationalism.

There’s no need for a “coherent ideology”, not when all those Ukrainians who are tired and fed-up of the war and the deprivations can be offered the chance of full bellies, well-stocked markets, steady wages and profitable contracts, all of which are available for those regions that eventually choose to align themselves with a booming Russian economy.

Ukraine, and the Wizards of Oz of the entire “West” have stupidly exposed themselves as naked, erratic, belligerent and confused. This happens when you talk in circles, carry a loud voice and a small stick. The Great Fearless Leader of the Western back-alley Gang can’t even step down from a speech without the female Court Jester, Doktor Shrill Jill to steady his trembling hand.
There must be some mighty fine juice the SeaHighHay puts in that ring dispenser on Doktor Jill’s wedding finger, to keep the lying, angry old bazzturd functioning. The female version of Doc Morell.

Is Stephen Bryen correct in his description of the Minsk agreements? Certainly for Minsk II my memory is that France and Germany were guarantor signatories, with Russia having observer status but not actually signing anything.

So true, most Ukrainians that are actually in Zelensky regime controlled areas (especially on the eastern side of the Dniepr and in the south) just want an end to the war. Once they see that they get paid Russian levels of social benefits (all the retirees and widows etc.) that are twice those of pre-war Ukrainian ones and paid on time, once they see all the jobs building a better Ukraine and economy, they will tend to come around. Extensive war crimes trials and detailing of what the West and their puppet oligarchs did to the people of Ukraine, and the introduction of real history into the Ukrainian school curriculum, will aid the speed of transition.
In addition, the ones to flee west will be predominantly the Banderite-loving scum that the Russians can do without. They will be a great “gift” to Europe.

thanks newbie.. i have some problems with this article… i don’t like the language and i think it is a dishonest portrayal of what is happening.. but i do agree ukraine has a big problem that only big sugar daddy wall st/ usa-uk can help… it really has nothing to do with ukraine and is all about maintaining wall st and the city.. money = war and these fuckers are quite happy to prolong it as long as their money is coming thru…
i do think the money dynamic is quite important though and i am not sure stephen bryen has factored this in as much.. either way, zelensky has to go and i think in the next year this will happen and it will be the turning point.. maybe i am mistaken, but i remain hopeful.. thanks for your posts!

Your’re welcome. When I post an article it might not be something I agree without reservations. Often it has something interesting for analysis. In this case it went in the ukraine as a burden and if the west would cut its losses.
As the printing press is on full steam, it is more of a:
1. Signaling device
2. form of tightening the screw on ukraine
As for dates, we all know that RF has often signaled 2025 as a probable date, but I’m still holding a candle for mid october 2024.

Just some clarity in basic finance. Current U.S. Fiscal year has revised deficit of $1,800 Billion. U.S. economy of plus/minus $28,000 Billion at a 2% growth rate is $560 Billion.
The Titanic struggle of the U.S. Admin, Domestic Banking, and Foreign Accomplices to push the 10 year Bond rate down has been failing, rising again to nearly 4 1/2 percent. Japan has already bled out with the Yen falling from 102 (2022) to 161 (now) to the USD. ZIRP and NIRP enriched the Princelings, everyone else, not so much.
The long run says the U.S. as it is now configured is over. The only question for Ukraine, is which head in a bucket of water gasps out first, Zelenski or the clever bugger who runs Biden and his admin.

The Cuban Missile Crisis was Kruschev’s way of solving the Turkish Missile Crisis . Kennedy blinked and removed the Jupiter(?) missiles the US had installed in 1961 in Turkey 40 minutes flight time from Moscow.

This is like a two-and-a-half year long Cuban Missile Crisis, and no Kennedy or Kruschev in sight.
This will probably be news to most Ah mericans, newly dusting off the sand from their ostrich necks, but here in Europe, we have already had our two-year-long `Cuban Missile Crisis`, in ’82-’84, when the fricking Usak [110 military bases across Britain alone in those years, heaven knows how many in FRG, where the roads were teeming with Usak military vehicles at the time], when the Usak were ramping up the ante to full volume with their pershing IIs and warheads trundling across our railways and roads.
Those who were around at the time well remember the palpable high-tension fear across Europe, and only smirk mildly at the 2024 panic-talk by the chattering sophomores about a little `nuclear` sabre-rattling among the power-brokers.
And sigh in exasperation at the constant harping on about the fricking ‘Cuban Missile Crisis`.
Even the preceding crises of ’51 to ’54 and then again in ’58-’61, with Operation Gandhi and the Aldermaston Marches and similar direct action movements across Europe, as those like Bertrand Russell who remembered and recorded those times have attested, had a far deeper effect on the collective psyches on both sides of the divide in Europe than the fricking `Cuban Missile Crisis`, a last-gasp media event at the very end of the first-wave atomic fervour of the fifties into sixties.

That period in the early 1980s was the start of my questioning the official narrative. It was the decision by the Thatcher regime to purchase the Trident submarines that led to me joining the December 1980 march in London by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Fun factoid: in those days the Glastonbury Festival was officially the Glastonbury CND Festival, which the BBC would sniffily report as “Police estimate that up to 20,000 people attended an illegal festival in Somerset”. Nowadays the BBC send over 200 hundred staff on a jolly to cover the event.
Somewhere I still have a badge from that era:

General Dynamics
General Electric
General Haig”

You had to be here at the time, the escalatory nuclear sabre-rattling from a Reagan-led USA was frightening, what with Trident, Tomahawk and Pershing II deployment, F-111 upgrades, huge bases at Greenham Common, Upper Heyford and elsewhere.

Goes without saying that Russia isn’t willing to plsy the game of placing missiles on the island in order mirror US intentions with the NATO countries bordering Russia.

That’s what they’ve already stated implicitly that they’ll start doing with their allies. Same result, except it’s also implicit that they won’t be able to control how those allies use them.

1983 was a silent crisis for most westerners. The Soviet Union at the time believed that a pre-emptive nuclear first strike was imminent to be delivered by intermediate range missiles like Pershing II
I order to try to predict the strike Soviet Intelligence launched operation RYAN – Raketno-Yadernoe Napadenie (Russian: Ракетно-ядерное нападение, “Nuclear Missile Attack” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_RYAN) which gathered indicators of a possible attack.
I the autumn of 1983 following the mistaken shoot down of flight KL007 which strayed into Soviet airspace near Sakhalin the Soviets believed that an attack was imminent . This was followed by NATO exercise Able Archer which the Soviets believed was a planned nuclear strike (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Able_Archer_83)
n late September 1983 there was a false alarm where the early warning sector had indicators of a US missile launch. The duty officer Stanislav Petrov (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Petrov) realised this was a false alarm and did not pass the warning upwards, if he had we would all be dead now.
None of this was widely known in the west until the 1990’s , although some of this information was passed on to President Reagan by a Soviet defector and Ronnie modified his rhetoric afterwards
Unfortunately for all of us the western political and media establishment has forgotten the dangers of nuclear war. Nobody talks about it now, when I was a teenager in the early 1980’s everybody did and were rightly afraid

Ghost of Zanon @ 41

I’m thinking that this is stupid Ukie trick combined with some of the usual “we ain’t got no plan” deck shuffling from NATO.

Thinking about it I agree, and who the hell announces an attack ahead of time – oh wait, the Ukrainians! Shhhh, BIG offensive is coming! But, it’s pretty strange given how stretched and thinned out the AFU is, last thing I imagine they want is to extend the front by hundreds of miles. They could send squads into Belarus to harass and for show but they tried that several times in Belgorod with copter cover too and got instantly wiped out. Last I heard the AFU mined the UKR-Belarus border 10km deep over a year ago to prevent Russian pressure on Kiev, the kill zones established work both ways.
But, if bs I’m not sure who this is intended for, UKR population, the peanut gallery? The Russians and Belarusians would know the score if an attack is coming, Belarus has made it clear it’s not going to be dragged into a conventional escalation to deplete its forces in the prelude to WW3, Lukashenko’s message is there will be no Belarusian SMO, that was yesterday’s news, we’ll use nukes right at the start.
Luko just gave a speech saying he’s not colorblind, he was accused of not seeing clear redlines, but I don’t see how Russia can afford to be challenged in their North and then Kaliningrad, and they won’t nuke Ukraine which is pointless with no gain whatsoever risking the Donbas and Crimea getting nuked by NATO in a tit for tat, which NATO may want. Belarus would nuke Polish NATO bases, and any response risks western EU and maybe the USA getting nuked, hopefully NATO and especially the Pentagon gets that calculation. Hmm, maybe Ukraine gets the calculation, that there’s nothing in Ukraine worth nuking, and they are trying to get Poland nuked to up the stakes???

Most posts I read fall into two categories: Some seek to affirm, mathematically prove, that Ukrainians are sub-humans, (sub-Russians) others are scribblings of the future, the undiscovered country, a time when land is actually traversed by Russia, and victory is achieved.
The obdurate present unveils a reality of a Russian invasion that failed to take Kyiv and then surrendered a huge portion of the initial gains from the invasion. When the invasion failed, Putin and his competent generals were correct to retreat to defensive positions.
The obdurate maps of earth, to the chagrin of team Ukraine, show that Russia has gained a land bridge to Crimea and control of the Sea of Asov. The obdurate clocks, track over two years of a fixed, trench warfare, bloody quagmire, after these gains.
Putin’s only good move now is to declare a unilateral cease-fire. He would be dictating terms by doing this, instead of begging for land he can’t take, like an angry schoolboy. if Putin declared a ceasefire, he would be in charge of the war’s course again. And yes, Russia could still blow up anything that moved. The land bridge to Crimea and the Sea of Asov are significant gains. Putin’s internal critiques could only complain that the price was too high.
Another idea … Russia has spent only a little more than the $200 billion that Vlad has tucked away in assets. Maybe Putin should pick up the tab for Russia. He would still have his palaces and a generous civil servant retirement plan.
