Hum…. ??
“Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is scheduled to address on Tuesday, August 6,”
No other information I could see.
Nothing as to what he will be speaking about.

Indicates perhaps another week or 2 of preparations? More evacuations etc? Iran May do same. May see many more IL-76s coming in days ahead.

It’s been understood by whom? It thought it was all about Iran?
Posted by: Ed4 | Aug 3 2024 12:06 utc | 600
It’s all about China. The road through China (and incidentally Russia) runs through Iran …

The US is schizophrenic and confused.
In the recent past, the US has usually moved it’s warships out of the Persian Gulf in preparation for conflict with Iran.
Moves back into the gulf are usually intimidation tactics happening during cooling periods.
This latest rush to the gulf doesn’t fit either behaviour.
The only conclusion I have is that it is not being done in preparation for actual conflict but for “optics”.
Whose “optics”?
The optics of the Zionists who run America.

This move is a “placation”: “Look, we’ve got your back, we’re even moving our metal closer to where they can be most conveniently sunk!”

The Red Sea traffic as per the AIS tracker is below normal. Because all Genocide linked ships are going the long way around.
The Yemeni Naval Blockade only applies to Genocide linked shipping.

Agree with all you said. Especially about prior Gulf positions. In addition to serving Israeli “optics”, it is also a sacrificial lamb to jolt Americans into reactionary mode.
It’s obvious, aside from DC, only a minority of US citizens want to race to war again in the ME.
Frankly I don’t think Iran will sink it, but will take out weapons & ISR abilities & leave it sitting there, like Russia did the USS Cole that had to be towed out of the Black Sea.
All in all. Not a well thought out plan. Even in the Mediterranean where they know Russian subs reside & China has who knows what going on from Djibouti.
I heard a MSM interview/report that US had not moved assets to Red Sea and hammering “Biden” administration as to why this has not been done.
I honestly believe, they believe (USreal), that come Monday-Tuesday, a “deal” will be signed, and all will be well. That these mafia thug measures worked perfect and the message is clear and a full capitulation is on its way.
Seriously, …it’s mind boggling. But I remember the same malarkey in the Ukraine stand off. The whole time yakking about Russian “invasion”… yet secretly not believing for a second that Russia would actually commence an operation and enter Ukraine. They were poorly prepared at the time, because of their hubris.
I see the same thing now.

I was, however, delighted to see that Joseph Roth made it to the top of your list — his rightful position —

Let me second. Joseph Roth is outstanding.
I was friends with a half-jew from Czernowitz in my youth, and since those times have a sweet spot in my heart for the place and its history. Later reading Roth’s Radetzkymarsch brought tears to my eyes. As does the man’s fate, who drank himself to death in Parisian exile, out of being homesick. There he gifts his country such a tale, and they just chase him off, for being a jew … makes a small counterpoint to here to all the blame, rightfully or not, heaped upon the european Jews.

Your portmanteau “USreal” is so startlingly appropriate, I’ve been stealing it without attribution. Sorry about that, and thanks!
There’s “no daylight” as the vultures say, leaning toward Tehran, in perfect unison, from both sides of the Atlantic. All the intramural static is nothing but slapstick Kabuki theater, to entertain the hoi polloi, poor devils.

The Yemenis ask suspected Genocide associated ships to RSVP, those that do not respond get blockaded. It’s all 100% in accordance with international rules on Naval Blockade.
BTW – the Yemenis have stated formally, stop genociding and the blockade gets lifted.
The ICJ has ruled this is a (plausible) genocide. The ICJ also opinied Israel is a Apartheid state. Finally, UNSC 2728 demanded Israel ceasefire. Seems the Yemenis have the Internstional Community on their side.
Ed4 – why do you keep supporting Genocide and Apartheid ?

I found Radetzkymarsch a hate filled story. Left me cold with his racist hatred.

“The Brink” was initially renewed for a second season while the first season was still airing. HBO later reversed its order and the show was canceled after one season.
I guess the CIA didn’t like it.
It made a complete mockery of US foreign policy, US “leaders” and the war machine.
That series plus “Being There” and of course, Dr. Strangelove offer a true-to-life lesson in US History.

So those two ships didn’t respond so they got attacked?

Posted by: Ed4 | Aug 3 2024 17:14 utc | 616

The Houtis are only targeting Israel bound shipping. Those ships have likely got tired of being floating targets. The Houtis are allowing non Israel trading ships through unimpeded.
