I stopped watching the channels about the slaughter in Gaza, because it drives me crazy. I Just can hope and pray that this will come to a good end for the Palestinians and that they will get justice

Self preservation.
Watching people being killed day after day, month after month, is not a good idea. Especially when anyone feels there is little they are able to do to intervene.
Youssef Fares explained it for himself with regard to losses, as life being reduced to “Either you are or you are not” . People in the west “are”, and at a completely different scale have their own “are” to take care of.
You cannot blame them, but the lines between rejection, tolerance and acceptance become very fine.
It is certain that there will be efforts to convince the public that their rejection was ultimately acceptance.
For example, that they did not object enough would mean that they actually accepted.
Also their have been twists and turns to events that distract – hope of a ceasefire, regional intervention, or just plain confusion/reatribution of responsibilities.
Pragmatically, few are going to place their lives in danger as part of a territorial dispute of different peoples tens of thousands of miles away. Unless paid to.
Domestically, they have little say.
So it comes down to : Shaking their heads, expressing their disacord or outrage, and then continuing with their own lives.
Personally I could weep at what I witness, but even for that I would feel as if I was indulging, instead of helping somehow.
It is ok to carry the sadness of it all though, what would we be if we did not feel that ?

Trump stuff aside, listening to Netanyahu’s speech, he sounds like a very deranged unipolarist on par with Zelensky. Just like Zelensky, but he sounds meaner and Netanyahu somehow manages to be more dislikeable on a human level (and I myself strongly dislike Zelensky).
I have no idea why Netanyahu is banking so, so hard on the declining US woke empire when he’s a far-rightist & the wokes on the street don’t like Israel to begin with. Conflict of interest. It shows to me that Netanyahu isn’t pragmatic or a multipolar thinker at all, which is what Israel should’ve done to survive as a viable nation-state. Israel could’ve gone for BRICS today had Netanyahu implemented a proper 2-state solution & make peace with Iran back in the late 1990s. The way his government’s been acting, he has no chance of joining BRICS.
However, I remember Scott Ritter once talking about how Netanyahu was secretly involved in the November 1995 assassination of Yitzhak Rabin to get into power in 1996, turning the country into the far-right, yet I can’t recall the specifics. Scott recalled a social shift around 1998 (perhaps seeing “the writing on the wall”) where things got too far-right to Scott’s liking, then he left the country.
It’s been almost 30 years of failure since. Pragmaticism & multipolarity doesn’t seem to be in the Israeli government’s vocabulary.

What you said makes sense, as I mentioned I’m a novice when it comes to Middle Eastern peoples, but I’m trying to learn.
The way I recall Scott Ritter describing it, I assumed most of Israelis (maybe 3/4ths) were right-wing conservatives in 1998 who became fascistic & even more hardcore Zionist in the following decades, but then again Scott’s likely misguided not having been there in such a long time.
My guess is maybe Israel today is polarized between woke types & conservative types. Or my most likely observation, it’s a “conservative” government that keeps bending the knee to gender & race issues (much like Boris Johnson’s UK government).
