After a few false starts I get the feeling this time it’ll actually happen and pretty quickly. If you lived in the west you would know what it costs to speak out here, to be unwelcome in your own society.
Titmouse encourages us because of that, and because it is us who are in a position to attempt to stop the slaughter by raising awareness in our own societies.
Maybe you don’t know MoA well enough.
On the other hand I have always found myself welcome in muslim society, and I often read expressions of thanks from Arab activists to all those making effort.
Personally I imagine no reckoning or reward, and we ask no forgiveness, because we do not support the Zionist occupation, we do not support its actions, and we do not support western involvement on its behalf.
Attacking westerners might also be counterproductive. I don’t know. In europe there are those just looking for a reason to turn on muslims. Popular right wing movements tend to align with US and the occupation. Countries under their influence are more likely to support the occupation.
So I am not sure that that will defend from more of the same, no matter how justified (or otherwise) that you are in your actions.

That is to say philosophise and theorise…that is what you will find online, people do not act to a greater degree online because they have only a keyboard and screen. An Israeli military force attempted to infiltrate an area east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement on Sunday.
Once again, the Israeli army resorted to the use of aid trucks as a way to carry out special operations in crowded Palestinian areas, according to the statement.
As soon as the force entered one of the houses, Al-Qassam fighters “engaged directly with them at point-blank range”.

I don’t know where you got that video from – do you read Arabic? The legend gives a journalist from Bethlehem. But where did he get it from? Israel is always ready to feed fake stories.
The problem is that the terrain is wrong for the Jordan Valley. The terrain should be dead flat, with bare stony hills behind. It isn’t. And the bends in the road are wrong too. I couldn’t read the road sign clearly, so couldn’t know where it is really taken. Columns of trucks waiting to cross a border point can be found anywhere in the Middle East. They wait for hours or days.
In any case, the problem is not one convoy, as the Divine All-Knowing Arch Bungle isn’t up to understanding, as you can get one convoy through without it being noticed. What can’t be done is to set up the kind of constant stream of convoys that Israel would need. The port of Eilat has been empty for months, and as exile notes above @30, you need a lot of trucks for just one cargo ship.

To be clear, I have never said there was No Rape. It is something I could never say – it would be a nonsense for anyone to make such a definitive statement.
Yet the double page story by Chip Le Grand makes no reference to a)my series of tweets about rape over a period of months that make clear I’m referring to systemic rape. The offending tweet is one where I put it would be counter to their mission to spend time on rape because they would jeopardise their mission which was to grab hostages and try to stay alive for long enough to escape. They would have to be pretty dumb to risk it. As it turns out, as I proffered, the latest U.N. investigation found no evidence that would allow them to conclude there had been rape. But Chip Le Grand reports none of this.
His story also took umbrage at my comment that we can’t know how many Israel deaths were caused by the IDF on Oct 7. Many independent commentators are now saying precisely that, including Gideon Levy. Even Piers Morgan can’t accept the Israelis know for a fact that a considerable number of Israelis were not killed on that day, because of the Hannibal Directive. And the. There is the indiscriminate nature of the shelling. There was more than ‘a kernel of truth’. ‘No car should make it back to Gaza’ means all the hostages being killed for a start.

Yes, I post like a westerner because that is the society I am in currently and it is the society I am explaining to or relating to.
I have lived in (lived in, not visited) over ten countries, and visited countless more. All from an early age. I’m not from here or there, cannot claim to be authentically from anywhere, but associate naturally with whatever surroundings. Maybe that makes me appear chameleon like (I hope not) , but on another hand it helps avoid entrenchement
Many times I had longed for the kind of dedication and certainty that follows with taking part more closely in a given community, the few I have known well having been basically erased by progress or demographic upheaval. However that is not where my own nature has led me, I tend towards elusive study and participate as the outsider. In fact no-one has ever managed to place me, but I also most often find others unexpectedly open towards me.
So I am always at home in a sense, and even as a guest in someone else’s country and society I try to make those feel welcome to my own world.
In all of that experience, I do know what it is to be part of various societies, at least to the degree of sentiment and perspective, and to a lesser degree of fuller paticipation.
I do not know what it is to be you though, because I have not met you, but I sense where you talk from.
No judgement is necessary for what is being carried out on the Palestinians, because it is so blatant. There is simply no moral equivalent in any society or religion that upholds the most minimal of respect for human life.
So I would not dare to judge anyone for their reaction to that.
Giyane is a funny fellow, some of his commentary reminds me of a close ‘westernised’ Iraqi friend of mine. His father held important position ( in creation of OPEC) and so he was both privileged and in a position to know better than myself (mostly at ‘ordinary level’) on facets of local society in the middle east. Where I had always found decency and respect in muslim society and had experienced western society as often oppressive and corrupt, he had decided western society was much more reasonable and thought arab society was very corrupt and self serving.
I suppose there is a moral to that somewhere.
However the point is that it is not for me to say what Palestine should be. I would imagine Palestinians reclaiming their lands, their nation. Why would I want to fight Zionists etc. to redeem that ? So that I could claim something of Palestine ? I already say and act as it is Palestinian.
Nor do I have any reason to feel responsible for historical western involvement. I was not there and have never justified it.
Current western involvement is something different though. There exists a synergy of influences that seep right through to ground level of western society that is unacceptable.
So it is from that perspective, a western perspective, that I address the matter.
It would just be understood as outside interference or manipulation if I were to start saying what Arab countries are, or should do.
I hope that is taken as being respectful, and not of being insincere or negligent.

In order to “normalize” Syria/Saudi relations, Syria would have to normalize relations with Israel/US…whatever fakery handshakes going on, means nothing.

I disagree, although mostly off topic. Some people do not “come to” when the information is available.
For example, the recent ballistic and sniper strategy remarks regarding .22 shots killing RFK (or anyone) shows zero grasp of the salient facts.
