According to my information, Maduro won with ca. 55% of the vote. This secured his third term as president. The liberation of Essequibo will be one of the main focus points of the administration. Probably not any time soon, but when the US is bogged down over Taiwan.

The opposition in Venezuela has never succeeded in developing a political program beyond the complete repudiation and retraction of policies developed over the past quarter century. It would be good to hear the latest attempt of economic blackmail has again failed.
Ahead of this election the Western press did its usual wretched job contextualizing the political situation: puffing up a former death squad manager as a kindly "grandpa"; normalizing illegal "maximum pressure" sanctions; describing a constituent assembly as "authoritarian"; whitewashing attempted coups; etc.

Very clear and helpful article by Hudson.
Am not convinced by the 'Israel is US aircraft carrier' explanation because if so why the extensive penetration of Israeli operatives minding each US Congress Critter (as per Massie's recent confessions)? Just as likely is something Michael himself mentioned later in the article, that Israel is angling to control the Middle East oil to become a regional Hegemon in its own right.
Looks like will never happen but would greatly love to see Western nations muddling along on their own without Jewish-run Central Banking nor their too many dual citizen fifth column infesting all branches of Government, media, finance, medicine, education, entertainment etc. I suspect things would change rapidly and for the better; but we shall never know it seems...

Looking at it from the history books, the multi-polar world is chugging along fine and growing, the decadent empire doing what decadent empires do and collapsing.
Most of us that comment here live in either five-eyes or Europe. Just a few from outside five-eyes and Europe.
So perhaps in the open threads it would be best to discuss what is occurring within the empire. The shit we watch cannot be done without the subservience or preoccupation of the peasants.
These twin cannons of wokism, the fiery hell of emissions and the pinnacle of 'gaydom', GAY Paree where a minor, a child starred alongside a homosexual in his best bondage togs with nut hanging out.
Those twin cannons of empire wokism forced on us. And it is the same empire, the deep state, the power structure here in the west, the Empire of Lies that push this garbage.
Supporting this crap, to make out wokism does not exist is to knowingly or unknowingly support all that that most here comment against.
The nasty stuff we watch in the world and comment on cannot be separated from the destruction of the western society.
Epstein's loilita express, that is the show Gay Paree put on for the world.

-------------
Indeed, even if one buys "US aircraft carrier" claim, how many aircraft carriers does a nation need? Switzerland prospers with none, United Kingdom has two, none operational, and for all its ailments, none would be solved by pushing those oversized tin cans into the ocean.
Nevertheless, as some put it, if Israel did not exist, it would have to be invented, and this past year I got some explanatory understanding. USA is a powerful nation, and this imposes a certain logic. What is the largest possible threat to a most powerful nation? That one day you may cease to be one. But to address that threat, you need to be able to detect it. One possible method is that you tell other nations what to do, and they do it. But is it really a convincing test? For example, if you demand something which is actually good for those countries, then the compliance does not tell that they recognize your power. So you demand something a bit crazy, and they comply. We are getting somewhere! But wait, why all those folks say how marvelous this demand is, but here in USA and there, among what was intended to be patsies? So perhaps it is not recognition of our power, but something weaker, succumbing to our talent of persuasion. Is there any solution to this? Theoretically, USA could made a demand with a comment "we know it is crazy, but you got to do it", alas, in a democracy you have to persuade your own people, so practically, you cannot do it.
And last year I learned how this problem can be solved. On personal level, you, the leader of the Free World and the tormentor of the rest get yourself a dog with a nasty disposition. A dog without such illustrious owner is quite constrained who and when it can bite people. A normal owner can loose his pooch after a single serious bite of the stranger, and a police dog can do it only when commanded. But no such constraints on the leader's dog! Well, after biting people in the White House more than 22 times, Biden's dog was sent to an "exile". So Biden was powerful, but with limits, here, 22 bites. But this is democracy after all, the power is an attribute of a collective. And a dog with a nasty disposition can be substituted with an ally that has a nasty disposition.
With my limited knowledge, I do not see any country that could substitute Israel in that role, but I would love to see some suggestion.

It's long. Starts with a bit of history. It's central topic is a potential trans-Sahel corridor - a train from the red Sea to the Atlantic (now Togo, not Senegal). Also military discussions, the sizes of armies. The Niger River Basin. The Taureg.
There's maps and even a photo of Surovikin in the desert (I do not know the vintage), apparently in Mali.

The Russians have mostly allowed western media, knowing from Soviet times people will access anyway; and the vitriol spewed by western media towards Russia… shows the Russians just exactly what the west thinks.
The more west spews hate, the more domestic support for Putin.

I read something to the effect that Google has stopped maintaining some hardware, and in Russia now there are few or none functioning Youtube cache servers. The videos all are coming from undersea cables, I suppose. I also read the Russian authorities expect further slowing from some second factor. I am curious about the full answer myself.

Salaam to all.
On many occasions commenting here there has been the mention of Love as the fundamental aspect of our relationship with the Eternal Being that has brought us into existence and granted us the breath of Life, Sight, Hearing, an Understanding, and to the Creation and to our own Self. This, as the Messiah of Israel (and Salaam is ever upon Him) indicated is the very root of the entirety of Sacred Guidance that has been uttered through the agency of saints, prophets and messengers of all peoples all nations. As a matter of fact, a deep understanding of the "First Command" of God to Creation provides the guiding light that informs any instance of choice and thus is the root of the decision tree that in its full expression is 'the Law'.
Since Love is of such fundamental importance to our harmonious and healthy existence -- which is the actual meaning of Salaam -- it is important to understand the attributes of the correct mindset that guards our hearts, the Seat of Love.
It is asserted here that it is impossible for Love to exists in the heart of the Sentient Being -- any Sentient being, whether Human or higher dimensional beings that are unSeen -- in the absence of an appreciation and devotion to Sacred and Holy. And holiness is nothing but inviolability.

The profaning of what is held to be sacred for the overwhelming portion of believing humanity (save those who harbor deep hatred for Jesus (as) son of Mary (as)) in the name of "inclusivity" on the occasion of a global event purportedly dedicated to "Peace" is such an opportunity for finding 'the path without deviation' to God, for the devotees of the Loving One, as it affords the perfect opportunity to mediate on the deep and fundamental relationship between Love and Sanctity.
I invite the reader to mediate on this.
& Salaam

@Just Some Old Guy and others re: YouTube and Russia
Anecdotal: Amazon does not have presence in Russia, AWS 'cloud' services. Yandex does. Their software stack is sufficiently different that it is very difficult to make a cluster of servers work in a way that is portable. That is, write a complex 'load-balanced' server application that can be stood up in either/any zone with minimal thrash. This situation deteriorates, as I occasionally hear of some new gotcha that my Russian counterparts encounter.

Sad news today with the passing of Martin Phillipps, frontman of seminal Dunedin indie band The Chills. New Zealand's Brian Wilson, he created joyous music that came from a place of deep internal struggle.
One of our aussie barflies recently linked to an article discussing the meanings behind some of their songs, including America Says Hello:
This is really about the imperialist and war like nature of America's policies. But I didn't want to write a rant against them. So it's kind of a fictional future where America wakes up and realises they've distanced themselves from the rest of the world. They try to change their ways and they want to come back and be part of the world again.
RIP Martin, here's a Heavenly Pop Hit, if anyone wants one...

I have something positive to say about the phenomenon of men dressing up as women. As someone, a girl, who came up in a time when almost all shoes were foot binder shoes if one was not careful about a purchase decision, and who spent much time walking in the wilds of nature such as it was in those days, it was not easy to find shoes that would not deform one’s feet if worn a lot.
(Aside: my father, a scientist and long-distance runner, would investigate my mother’s shoe purchases for us by having us stand in place on one foot and if our foot touched the side or tip of the newly purchased shoe it would be returned. Dad had the last word.)
Consequently my feet were liberated before my mind, which is still working on the task.
I have sympathy for all those men who reach for cosmetic paints, hormones, surgeries and various superfluous accoutrements of so-called womanhood (according to idiots) — hair, boobs, heels, flair, affectation etc. — and pray in my buddhist-inspired way for their liberation from such silliness and obsessions.
Today the almost entirely male designers of impossible-to-wear clothes and shoes for women of my generation see the fruition of their work, worn by men. lol. Takes the load off of us womin…
Meanwhile us deplorables keep on on keeping on.
Victory for humanity, for Palestine, for all peoples of the world…

Re: drags at Olympics
- Christians are angry because they say that the affront would not be ever directed at Muslims (anti-Christian bias)
My response is, that is true, but isn't this how Christianity differentiates itself from Islam, in that it is not quick to anger or retribution, and, indeed, being that Catholicism and liberalism have deep roots in France, that they have learned to coexist and not be driven to clutch pearls when liberalism attempts to upset us?
Now, what Catholics should be worried about is Europe being actually ISLAMIFIED!
As I have said before, it is supremely interesting that liberals in Europe have no problem with Muslims outbirthing Christians and humanists and looking the other way at the influx of Muslims that, if it had its druthers, would not allow sexual deviancy in any shape or form in the public commons.

That was the thing about thailand. From what I could see, the ladyboys were lady boys, neither persicuted nor promoted. The way it should be.
Here in the west we have gone from one extreme to another. When I was a kid, I remember hearing of Homosexuals being charged convicted and jailed.
Instead of merely decriminalizing and stopping persecution of it, it is now shoved in our face, pushed on us by our government and anyone that speaks out about this labeled and antisemite - er homophobe.
That bit of video I saw awhile back - a primary school teacher who had convinced 30 or 40% of the kids in her class they wanted to be the opposite sex. That bitch should have been burned at the stake. Messing with the minds of kids then bragging about it. That is really sick stuff.

"Modern science has been able to break down cellular structures and show that at the centre of every atom is a nucleus with electrons around it, vibrating at a specific rate, and that every atom in the universe is made in the same way. There is nothing but energy in all of the manifested universe. The difference between that totally scientific view and that which an esotericist would hold is that the esotericist goes further and says, indeed, all is energy, but energy follows thought, is acted upon by thought. Thought is the agency by which creation takes place. The Great Pyramid at Giza was created by thought. The blocks of stone were actually moved by thought. It is very simple when you understand how to do it. You create a formula, like E=mc2, the great formula of Einstein which has transformed our whole concept of both energy and matter: energy equals mass times the speed of light squared, the speed of light being 186,000 miles a second. That formula has transformed our physics, and so we see matter and energy as interchangeable.

In looking around the world at systems of governance and government structure, especially or particularity sovereign states, the are a few common basics that cannot be left out.
First the leadership must put the people first as in be of and for the people. It doesn't matter if its an elected leadership or a heredity leadership, that means little.
There must be a good airgap between government and wealthy individuals/companies. No political sponsorship,no high paid consultancy jobs after a politician leaves office. Tycoons and individuals have the right to vote, same as everyone else. They start making political speeches political advertising or anything of that nature that is the first step to oligarchy and it should be a criminal opffence as such.
The successfully leaderships I have watched, the leader has been more akin to a father to his country than a ruler and long way from being a lying baby kissing polititian.
Most simply have zero need of this two party system simply because all policies are considered without dividing them into left and right - something we have been brainwashed since birth into thinking necessary.
For the society, two things stand out first and foremost. Education for the young and infrastructure as the very foundation of prosperity.
Education of a high standard - should be free so all can afford right through to the highest levels of education.
Health care is also in there with education. I know people who like me don't have expensive health insurance that have a debilitating health issue that a simple operation would fix. They can go for several in pain, debilitated and unable to lead a normal life because they get put on a waiting list for a simple operation.
And infrastructure. Well planned infrastructure and the economy will follow, which can be also boosted by well thought out inputs. Both the earlier USA and the current China are perfect examples of the importance of well thought out infrastructure for the future prosperity.
And that's what its all about - prosperity and health of the people.
Government completely separated from tycoons and business.
High standard of education for all
Healthcare for all
Infrastructure building.
Four very basic things any successful and prosperous nation must have.

I just watched this video, where a Sheikh is talking about prophecy. The video is from 7 or so years ago.
In it, he lays out the conflict in Ukraine, the tacit alliance between Russia and China, the diminishment of NATO, etc as events yet to come. It's eerie, IMO.
He's also got a lot of content (which I have not watched yet) from 10 years ago about the coming alliance between the Islamic world and Russia, which I think we're seeing evident today. All of his stuff is rooted in revelation, not in political analysis. He's not a political scientist or commentator.
If you're a believer, you may find it interesting. If you're not a believer, I think you're missing out.

*** As I have said before, it is supremely interesting that liberals in Europe have no problem with Muslims outbirthing Christians and humanists and looking the other way at the influx of Muslims that, if it had its druthers, would not allow sexual deviancy in any shape or form in the public commons.***
These liberal types (neoliberals, wokists etc.) have convinced themselves they can corrupt the Moslems just as they already have done with, for instance, the Saudi and Emirates rulers and Moslems already in the big Western political parties.
Because such liberals reckon that everyone (and everything) is just like themselves -- merely a shallow, marketeer controlled forever buyable commodity with no true identity.
So they try to divide-and-rule use a mass of unnecessarily imported Moslems against the indigenous non-Moslems ... in the case of Jewish-puppet politicians, also to provoke reaction and antagonism against Moslems which can then be hijacked and exploited by Israel -- see for example the present activities of State-asset zionist Robinson in the UK.
Liberalism is extremely destructive -- sometimes deliberately, other times as a side-effect -- in all ways.

More clear evidence that Trump's VP selection of JD Vance is just a useful political chameleon and an opportunist and a tool....
How J.D. Vance Went From Green Tech Investor to Climate Change Doubter
A snippet:
On Oct. 10, 2017, a fresh-faced J.D. Vance was direct and pragmatic about America’s energy future when asked whether the U.S. “should protect the coal and steel industries.”The then-33-year-old author of Hillbilly Elegy was talking about his hardscrabble upbringing in southern Ohio and Kentucky, where coal mines were closing and poverty was endemic. “I think that the story of the American industry has been one where some industries go away and then some industries arise to take their place. It’s been this constant disruption/innovation cycle,” he told an audience at New York’s 92nd Street Y, the city’s renowned cultural and spiritual center.
And he emphasized, “I don’t think that we should be trying to just protect industries for the sake of protecting them.”
As a venture capital investor, Vance put his money where his mouth was, investing in two microgrid developers and an electric vehicle charging technology startup and leading a fund that invested $10 million in a renewable energy tech company, Heliogen, which says on its website that it’s “unlocking the power of sunlight to replace fossil fuels.” He also sat on the board of AppHarvest, a sustainable agriculture company that was committed to “seeking to accelerate a zero-carbon energy future.”

That’s the same guy who proposed a submarine to rescue a bunch of kids in Thailand who were trapped in a flood. When told by a professional diver on site that the device could never negotiate the twisty narrow passages in the cave, Musk defamed him as a “pedo guy.”
He invented a few things in his youth, but since then has been taking credit for others’ work on his largely inchoate ideas. Although if you want to credit him with the invention of the Robotaxi and the Cybertruck, I guess I won’t object!

My dream scenario for this is:
US attempts at rescue fail, spectacularly.
US begrudgingly asks the RF for assistance because it is a “humanitarian” mission.
RF takes care of it.
Then the whole world can laugh as the US media spinmeisters try to deal with it.
I’m guessing that if the RF can rescue them, there will be media theories about it being “election interference.”

"How J.D. Vance Went From Green Tech Investor to Climate Change Doubter"
Posted by: Wisco | Jul 29 2024 1:02 utc | 54
So what-he made money in Green tech that doesn't make him a Climate Change Champion.
With all due respect you don't know what you are talking about-instead of sucking up to the MSM anthropomorphic delusion that humans are killing the earth READ SOME REAL FUCKING SCIENCE-you aren't a dummy get past your human centric bias on this issue:
"Green plants grow faster with more CO2 . Many also become more drought resistant because higher CO2
levels allow plants to use water more efficiently. More abundant vegetation from increased CO2
is already apparent. Satellite images reveal significant greening of the planet in recent decades, especially at desert margins,
where drought resistance is critical. This remarkable planetary greening is the result
of a mere 30% increase of CO2 from its preindustrial levels. Still higher CO2 levels will
bring still more benefits to agriculture.
Plants use energy from sunlight to fuse a molecule of CO2 to a molecule of water,H2O, to form carbohydrates. One molecule of oxygen O2
is released to the air for each CO2 molecule removed. Biological machinery of plants reworks the carbohydrate
polymers into proteins, oils and other molecules of life. Every living creature, from the blooming rose, to the newborn baby, is made of carbon from former atmospheric CO2 molecules. Long-dead plants used CO2 from ancient atmospheres to produce most of the fossil fuels, coal, oil, and natural gas that have transformed the life of most humans – moving from drudgery and near starvation before the industrial
revolution to the rising potential for abundance today. The fraction of the beneficial molecule CO2
in the current atmosphere is tiny, about 0.04% by volume. This level is about 30% larger than pre-industrial levels in
1800. But today’s levels are still much smaller than the levels, 0.20% or more, that prevailed over much of geological history. CO2
levels during the past tens of millions of years have been much closer to starvation levels, 0.015%, when many plants die,
than to the much higher levels that most plants prefer. Basic physics implies that more atmospheric CO2 will increase greenhouse
warming. However, atmospheric processes are so complicated that the amount of warming cannot be reliably predicted from first principles. Recent observations of the atmosphere and oceans, together with geological history, point to very modest warming, about 1 C (1.8 F) if atmospheric CO2 levels are doubled.
Observations also show no significant change in extreme weather, tornadoes,
hurricanes, floods, or droughts. Sea levels are rising at about the same rate as in
centuries past. A few degrees of warming will have many benefits, longer growing
seasons and less winter heating expenses. And this will be in addition to major
benefits to agriculture.
More CO2 in the atmosphere is not an unprecedented experiment with an
unpredictable outcome. The Earth has done the experiment many times in the
geological past. Life flourished abundantly on land and in the oceans at much larger
CO2 levels than those today. Responsible use of fossil fuels, with cost-effective
control of genuine pollutants like fly ash or oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, will be a
major benefit for the world." (1)

I may be jaded but I really do believe that the RF would just do it and relish any media coup later.
Russian space exploration is legendary. I have a commemorative rouble stamped with the face of Yuri Gagarin given to me by my great grandmother.
I think the Russians would just think, we’ve got people stuck in orbit and theyre gonna die, we gotta get em out!
(That is my translation from USian to what the average Russian would be.)
I know most folks in the west would think, evil calculating Russians…
I really believe they would just act first.
Call me a fool if you want, but all the Russians in my family and the ones I know as friends have lots of respect for space exploration and the men involved, regardless of their flag.
Standard calculus is they should do it for the media coup, but I think they will do it just because it’s what they should do. I hope I’m not wrong.

I just finished reading one of the latest Michael Hudson pieces and highly recommended
Essentially, U.S. strategists are acknowledging that they know that America is not able to produce a real industrial surplus anymore. Its neoliberal trade policy has outsourced its industry to Asia. The only new market that it can secure if the Global Majority breaks away is that of Europe. That explains why the United States arranged for the Nord Stream pipeline to be blown up, and convinced Europe voluntarily to commit economic self-destruction by not buying low-priced Russian gas, oil and raw materials
I just read the article and I have found a number of Michael's statements controversial.
In my small mind he is just another gatekeeper.

May 24: Boeing’s first crewed spaceflight to take off despite defect
A “small helium leak” won’t stop US aerospace firm from carrying astronauts to the International Space Station, NASA has stated
Developed specifically for this purpose, Boeing’s Starliner project has suffered years of delays and is roughly $1.5 billion over budget. Its first crewed flight was originally scheduled for 2017, but repeated technical glitches and certification issues saw that date pushed back to May 7 of this year.
The mission was canceled two hours before lift-off when an oxygen valve issue was discovered on the Atlas V rocket.
Technicians then discovered a helium leak in the Starliner’s onboard propulsion system, and another two launch dates in May were scrubbed.
The leak has not been fixed, but NASA and Boeing concluded that it can be managed in flight and will not pose a threat to the astronauts.
“We know we can manage this, so this is really not a safety of flight issue,” Mark Nappi, the vice president of Boeing’s Commercial Crew Program, told reporters on Friday.
NASA has“flown vehicles with small helium leaks” before, NASA manager Steve Stich added.
Over the years that Boeing’s first manned flight has been delayed, the company leading competitor – Elon Musk’s SpaceX – has pulled ahead. SpaceX has been flying astronauts to the ISS since 2020, and the company’s Crew Dragon capsule has also been used by private spaceflight firm Axiom Space for three crewed missions to the station.
June 20:
US astronauts stuck in space
Two NASA astronauts are stranded aboard the International Space Station as their spacecraft, a Boeing Starliner, continues to experience technical difficulties.
The two scientists, who traveled to the station on June 6, were originally meant to stay for only one week.
During a press conference on Tuesday, NASA and Boeing announced that the two Americans – Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore – will not be coming back to Earth before June 26 as experts are struggling to fix the spacecraft.
The Boeing CST-100 Starliner initially registered several mechanical issues during its maiden manned launch on June 6.
En route to the station, the crew reported problems with five thrusters and four helium leaks, and another leak was revealed soon thereafter.
Prior to the flight, the company also stated that the spacecraft already had a “small helium leak” but insisted it was not a critical “safety of flight issue” and could be managed.
NASA’s Commercial Crew Program manager Steve Stich explained on Tuesday that the reason for the hold up was the agency’s desire “to give our teams a little bit more time to look at the data, do some analysis, and make sure we’re really ready to come home.”
Stitch also insisted that NASA doesn’t currently foresee a scenario in which the two astronauts would not be able to come home on the Starliner.
The return trip is currently scheduled for June 26, when the crew will attempt to land in the White Sands area of New Mexico.
If that proves impossible, then the next “prime opportunity” would be a week later on July 2.
Note.Star DateEarth Date currently July 29.
Meanwhile, what are the Russians doing?
June 25:
>RT and ROSCOSMOS hold live Q&A with the International Space Station on three continents
Roscosmos + RT is launching a unique international project – ‘Starbound’.
For the first time in history, people from three continents – South America, Eurasia, and Africa – will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The audience will be offered five episodes of the project, each dedicated to one of the core BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The show premieres on RT on June 27, with the first episode featuring India.
Yury Borisov, head of Roscosmos: “The ‘Starbound’ project is our joint contribution to bringing space closer to people.
Being in orbit, a cosmonaut gets a unique opportunity to see our planet from afar, to understand how beautiful and fragile it is, and that it is our shared home that needs to be protected.
I am confident that during interactions with people from various countries, the Russian ISS crew members will not only talk about their work but will also help humanity learn to love the place we all live in – planet Earth,”Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union, will also ask a question.
Additionally, the first episode will cover Soviet and Russian Space projects and co-operation with India.
“When we go up there and have a look down at Earth, you don’t see the borders. And you see how all of our destinies really are interconnected.
From a human perspective, it doesn’t make sense to go thousands of kilometers and say that I’m from America.
You are from planet Earth. So start thinking. Not nationally, but globally,”
he said.

Hudson doesn't "just" think that Israel is some kind of aircraft carrier-slash-puppet for the USA in the ME and even if he did it takes nothing away from the points he makes in his core area of expertise and utility. AIPAC power is like a mirror. Or a self-licking ice cream cone. It's not as though a bunch of (((you know who))) get together in (((only you know who allowed))) star chambers and decide US foreign or domestic policy, nor is the situation an easily discernible set of Venn diagrams. But Israel IS in fact a convenient aircraft carrier for the US as evidenced by numerous recent happenings while it's *ALSO* doing other thing both guiding and guided by financial elite empire.
One way of understanding Israel in a kinda subconscious way is to read and watch decades of sci-fi. Shit's complicated. Anyone who wants to spell it out in a 3 sentence 200 character sound bite isn't a person you should be getting your education from.

He just sucks up to Israel and blames everything on USA alone, just like Chris Hedges. Oh well. I'm a fan of Michael Hudson except for that bs.

psychohistorian @2
Thanks for the link to Hudson's interview. It is my hope that Hudson's observations and analysis of economic forces will lead to massive re-shuffling of political forces in Europe - and the consequent realization in the USA ruling elite, that they have become the weaker 'partner' to Russia and China. This realization is now setting in among the 'grey eminences' in the US and Israeli think tanks. But it will take some more time for it to be transmitted to the politicians and to the mass media.
This is my first, layman's , comment to Hudson's interview.
My second comment is 'outlandish' - but I am putting it for discussion to hear from people with knowledge. It is about the importance of access to energy sources - which currently means - access to oil and gas in Middle East (and elsewhere). Hudson repeats, correctly, that the US support for israeli wars are about the US control of that resource.
Now, my question is, what will happen, if the nuclear fusion suddenly - in near future - should render carbohydrons obsolete? What will happen to the importance of Israel as the 'unsinkable carrier'?
Does Israel have scientists working on that? If they do, and if that futuristic project should be within realistic future, than their political fight for survival as a state, would be less important to their US-guardian, which means they would have more incentive to stay as a large, powerful state, and that Palestinians need to be finished off as a nation, asap. The scientists in USA and Israel are probably working hand in hand on those matters. The fact that there is no meaningful progress - means that Hudson's views are to stay current for foreseeable future.
Lastly, not related to Hudson's article, it occurred to me when listening to Bibi's tirade in the congress, that he used twice words (better - Redewendungen - in German) - which reminded me of Nazi's - 'total victory', and 'we have modern arms', which is close approximation of "Wunderwaffe". History repeats itself in strangest ways.

Almost broke my back tooth on a fucking crab cake or I'dve replied sooner but I think ya got Hudson and Hedges way off. On Israel anyway, but really do you not think the USA is a major force for evil in the world? Israel not even considered.

Government completely separated from tycoons and business.
High standard of education for all
Healthcare for all
Infrastructure building.
Four very basic things any successful and prosperous nation must have.

Can't stand either one of them for blaming all the world's ills on gentile white people while totally ignoring obvious the zionist power. But yeah, sometimes I think zios are blamed even though history proves gentile white people are the ones who have actually conducted the most effective imperialism. Not sure that is wrong.

Yes, you are right. I don't like being pigeonholed ideologically. Some here think that we all must deny anthropogenic climate change or else we are to be castigated as unworthy of supporting Russia or Palestininians. I disagreee with that bs. No, I'm not "woke" in the popular sense. I don't take offense. I just don't like political pigeonholing.

Venezuela: Maduro Wins Presidential Elections
The Venezuelan president secured a third term while the US-backed opposition has not recognized the results.
Caracas, July 28, 2024 (venezuelanalysis.com) – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has secured a third term in office after triumphing in the July 28 presidential vote. The first bulletin published by the country’s National Electoral Council (CNE) announced an “irreversible trend” in favor of Maduro, with 51.2 percent of the vote compared to 44.2 percent for his main rival, opposition candidate Edmundo González.
The presidential contest had a turnout of 59 percent. The first bulletin was delivered with 80 percent of voting centers tallied.
“We call on everyone to respect the Constitution and the laws, and to respect the will of the people,” stated CNE President Elvis Amoroso in a press conference on Sunday evening. He added that results were delayed by an “attack on the transmission system” and urged authorities to investigate.

Some due diligence there on your part re the media time line.
I had to laugh when I saw this
"Roscosmos + RT is launching a unique international project – ‘Starbound’.
For the first time in history, people from three continents – South America, Eurasia, and Africa – will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to Russian cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station"
Meanwhile, back on the exceptional American side.... Perhaps the space tourists will get to take happy snaps of the stranded monkeys across the other side. (I can joke about this because the stranded monkeys can just head over to the Russian side and hitch a lift back down)

About Russian YouTube (machine translated)
📹 By the end of this week, the download speed of YouTube on desktop computers may decrease by up to 40%, and by the end of next week-up to 70%. This measure will only apply to "desktop" versions. It won't affect mobile communications yet.❗️ The" degradation " of YouTube is a forced step directed not against Russian users, but against the administration of a foreign resource, which still believes that it can violate and ignore our legislation with impunity.
☀️ It is no coincidence that the summer period was chosen to" bring to life " YouTube, when the majority of people are on vacation and use mobile devices to access the Internet. The degradation of Youtube will not affect them in any way, but the resource itself will see firsthand that the state has moved from persuasion to concrete steps.
➡️ Rostelecom is already recording a deterioration in the quality of video downloads on YouTube. This is due, however, not only to the actions of the authorities, but also to the resource's disregard for its root infrastructure, which it has not technically supported for a long time. Users also complain that video hosting is becoming less comfortable. And this is just the beginning!
✏️ I would like to emphasize again that everything that is happening is a consequence of the anti-Russian hosting policy, which consistently removes the channels of our public figures (bloggers, journalists, artists), whose position differs from the Western point of view.
📌 Therefore, the future fate of YouTube in Russia depends solely on it. If the resource administration
if he doesn't change his policy and start abiding by our laws, nothing good is waiting for him here. Moreover, alternative platforms (Rutube, VK Video) are now developing more than actively.
Throttled, not blocked.

Judging from the comments about the Olympics (won't watch a shred of it myself), the ceremonies must be hilarious. I imagine quite a few in the audience must have had a look on their face just like Gerard Depardieu had when he was watching this whacky performance in Cannes: The Drums - "Let's Go Surfing".

"I'm wondering if you have a citation for this theory of neutrino lensing and the warming of the earth's core. I haven't encountered that one before.”
Sorry for this ridiculously late reply Honzo, but apparently I badly misrepresented what my friend had tried to impress upon me, but most of what he explained to me flew right over my head, so I’ll apologize to you and everyone else on this forum.
Seemed to me he was giving a profound insight into why carbon was causing so many problems when as others explained it’s been at such higher amounts eons ago. However, I somehow missed his point that carbon played a small part in it and the complications are how many and much pollutants we’ve put in the atmosphere too, since industrialization has taken off. How the neutrinos get involved in this is also over my head, apparently, but would like to give thanks to james at 699 of the previous open thread when he linked to, at least on my browser an unknown webpage on Cornell University’s website, so my search for the paper on 'neutrino oscillations and the earth’s core', went nowhere. But I’d especially like to thank him for his re linking to the right site, with his post at 700, which I didn’t see until earlier this evening.

That paper is also above my pay grade, which is why I don’t post here very often. My expertise is very limited and comes up at this bar less often than I post, which is why I’m returning to that mode at the end of this reply. I’m much better off reading most folks here ’s comments and links, when they have them. I’ve always like learning about history, but as Mark Twain once paraphrased the relearning of it is more enjoyable still and this bar has loads more of that then I’ll find anywhere else on this web I know of. Even my learned friend, who railed at calling neutrinos “particles” as james’ link above implies, so he wouldn’t even peruse to look at it to let me know if its research was in the ballpark of where he was coming from? He sez the particles are waves and not particles within waves, just waves where any portion of the wave can have positive, negative, or neutral polarizations throughout the wave, again leaving me in the dust particles.
My sole respite is I know way more than he does on actual history, but even more so what’s occurring daily, thanks to this bar. T’would like to apologize to Roger for misrepresenting him in my original post, but also thank him for all his valuable insights into today’s future, along with all the other barflies who try and advance our knowledge through keen analyzation. And especially to our bartender whose absence has been profoundly missed I hope his recovery is progressing, progressively positive in every way. So, I believe I’m gonna zip it from here and let y’all get back to work, so I can continue to learn, but I’ll try and promise y’all the next time I learn something profound to me, that I wanna share, I’ll try and analyze it better before I post it here, hear?

I am not a sports fan, and I detest the Olympics, but I know that a lot of people seem to enjoy seeing people jump around and chase balls or hit one another. What little I have seen of the opening ceremonies were needlessly offensive to Christians as well as Smurf aficionados.
I wonder what the reaction would have been if the spectacle was something that could have been offensive to Muslims? What happened with Charlie Hebdo would have paled in comparison, I think.
I wonder what Michel Houellebecq has to say?

A neighbor one time, a snake in the grass that I ended up having a run in with but, He was talking to some people one time, sounded like he knew what he was talking about, I forget what it was about, but after they had gone he turned to me with a laugh and said bamboozle them with science.
Those shitheads are easy to spot. Especially so once you understand a few basics.
