The only people voting for Harris will be party stalwarts and people with TDS – that’s it, is that 50.1%? Abstentions will be high, but on the left, Democrats in the neoliberal era only win if they get a large youth turn out. There are many, many Americans that absolutely dislike Trump. It’s likely he will lose the “popular vote” again. But that doesn’t matter. Human nature. Yes, the system/climate/culture in the US is corrupted SNAFU on steroids but groups need leaders and America is an important nation in world affairs so her leadership matters.
Even though maybe it doesn’t.
Plus: many large segments of We the People have clearly communicated that they would like their country run a different way and then most of the leadership class trotted out in front of them by the RC runs interference, promising Desired Outcome X whilst delivering more of the same Y.
Perhaps this is why Trump, though not really all that different, is rightly perceived as a threat: he has connected with the largest mainstream group of We the People who ‘want their country back’ so if he starts actually delivering could do serious damage to the kleptocrat oligarchy – also if he exposes their corruption overmuch.
Plus there is Reality’s natural hierarchy which, simply put, is that physical-material stuff is inferior and moral-spiritual view is superior (sorry Marxists!). There is no political movement in the West offering a significantly different shift in the mainly materialist moral-spiritual climate; so no matter what, despite the genuine aspiration of millions of citizens in the mix, it will probably end up being more of the same.
Like Trump’s Convention speech. It started off sincerely and being different and better but then soon devolved into same-old same-old.
As the Buddha said: ‘samsara* is without beginning or end.’

I think some of what is going on is credibility management. Biden’s win in 2020 was believable even though the man barely campaigned not because of Covid but because nobody turned up to his speeches. It’s the same now but without any excuse. More importantly, the man trips over physically and verbally. It’s just not believable that he will win. Especially after ten million illegals, inflation, two wars, bla bla bla.
Can they find a believable alternative? I doubt it. But what they can do is run somebody else who is credible as a candidate and then cheat on the down ticket candidates to win the House and Senate and make Trump’s second term even more of a living hell for both him and the country than they made the first term.
Because that’s how they roll.

That would be the cold hard calculation that doomed Biden. I need to look for an electoral college map but predictions have been worthless recently, beside having proved corrupt like Nate Silver 538 but also equally incompetent – everything is just part of the neoliberal miasma, the crapification of everything, hells, event the assassination attempt on Trump was crapified, both the attempt and his protection!
Makes it difficult to get a read from afar. My friends all have TDS but all are PMC and liberals so that doesn’t tell me anything other than they are comfortable and satisfied and don’t want Trump rocking their boat.

First impressions, looks, mannerisms, body language are all important to people in determining trust. Good-looking people are more easily trusted than unattractive people. Sad commentary, but true. And it’s not that good-looking people are more trustworthy, but that people want to trust them more.
This is especially true for US presidents. Since the advent of television, Americans haven’t elected a grossly fat president (like Taft). And usually, not always, it’s the better-looking candidate who is elected.
Kennedy over Nixon, movie-star Reagan twice, Bush over Dukakis, ladies’ man Clinton over older Bush/Dole, young Obama over old McCain, etc. That’s why the presidential debates are important, not for the substance, but for the style. See: Joe Biden, former nominee.

The cheating is done on a county level, finely targeted and easily hidden, with the all or nothing electoral college it’s not hard to steal an election if you have a granular enough read, just a few well placed hits where necessary, won’t work with a sweep but will for a close election. Who knows maybe they have the county level bulwarks against Trump carefully worked out, the fix is in and they need to replace Biden to make the fix seem believable as no one wants to vote for zombie Joe.
It’s also possible the ousting of Biden isn’t about his electoral weakness but it’s a DNC/Pentagon/Deep State faction making sure the group that fucked up the 30 year carefully planned destruction of Russia doesn’t get rewarded and gets to keep fucking up it up.

2. Gone with the wind. According to manufacturers etc., the blades of wind turbines break VERY RARELY, but there was a report on a “blade cemetery” in Texas, and just today
All Vineyard Wind 1 operations are halted, for now, after part of a blade on one of the offshore turbines broke off and fell into the ocean over the weekend.
The offshore wind farm is about 15 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard, and debris from the blade has washed up on Nantucket’s southern-facing beaches, as well as Tuckernuck and Muskeget islands.

In my opinion, wind turbines of today are a dead end technology, scaling up a design with inherent bottlenecks. The forces acting on blade roots and the tops of turbine towers are so big that they require heavy weights or very special materials. There exist an alternative that is less efficient on small scale but inherently more adapted to scaling up: blades form a cylinder, and are kept in position from both ends, while the “nacelle” is on the bottom, so the moments of forces go up very moderately when you increase the size. OTOH, the design with vertical blades forming a rotating cylinder require more research, efficiency requires control of the angles of the blades that changes during a revolution of the cylinder in a way that adapts to wind characteristics. However, changing the paradigm seems to risky for companies that prefer to go toward the dead end.

Honestly, not very. Nothing remotely unbearable, anyway. I spent July 4th up in that exact area in 2019, watched the fireworks display on the river in Wheeling, WV – was even at the shopping mall a few miles away from Butler, PA – and it was quite pleasant compared to back home in Texas.
Of all the variables, how how the roof was is a non factor. Same goes for the slope, though, LOL.

I’m not outright endorsing her, but I see no better alternative that could topple Trump. I also think he is afraid of her. (Best prove: He has said that he is not.)

Biden’s decline, though it started before his presidency, has been alarmingly precipitous lately. Many folks have witnessed sudden falls like this in our own families. The first question I’d suggest for Zakharova’s investigation: Is the president still alive?
Commenting on his announcement in an interview with Russian media, Zakharova noted that it was highly unusual to have just a screenshot of a letter posted on social media rather than a video or audio statement. “In the modern world, filled with post-truth and deep fakes, it’s very important to leave no room for speculation,” Zakharova said.
Assuming Biden’s letter is authentic, as the US media – and the public alongside them – appear to have done, it “raises the question of investigating what I call the collusion of the American media with political circles, including officials and the so-called expert community, who hid the true state of affairs regarding Biden’s mental health,” she added.

Yes, but Biden is brain damaged, so a poor comparison. Trump has always spouted nonsense, some as manipulation some he believes himself, but he’s not out right incoherent, granted men get to hide their idiocies behind bloviating which doesn’t play well for the fairer sex. Hillary’s too toxic, too old, don’t worry won’t happen, but she’ll be prominent behind the scenes in a Harris administration, worry about that. Doubt Harris will be more than a place holder, the DNC VP choice like Vance will be looking ahead and important.
