They’d never keep him around that long, the poopy diaper smell would be too much. If he wins it doesn’t matter, they can oust him the next day, or next few months for the sake of propriety, but the praetorians stay in charge. Maybe they gambled that they could hide the decline till election day but lost the bet. It could have been a fair bet, Reagan in the second term was worse off than Biden, completely non compos mentis, I think they had to feed him with a bib and spoon but they managed to get him through the election much like the Pantomime Princess Margaret in the Monthy Python sketches. It could have worked for the democrats too except for the internecine battle that fucked it up. Given expectations I thought Biden was passable in the debate, I noticed no disaster beyond the usual American dystopia, a PR campaign playing him up as success would have worked fine, no brouhaha, but instead the knives came out from behind the curtains and he was hit with an orchestrated attack from his own party, something the Reagan 2 managers didn’t have to worry about. Again, just tossing that out there.
Thanks, he did indeed make it, unless that was a double getting up from the stage floor, uh-oh, +1000 posts here we go… Posted by: LightYearsFromHome | Jul 17 2024 22:04 utc | 109 James @ 108 Posted by: Mark2 | Jul 17 2024 22:15 utc | 110 @Peter AU1 | Jul 17 2024 21:39 utc | 93:
I respectfully disagree. All talks of stopping China (Taiwan, SCS, mid-range mi9ssiles in Philippine, etc.) are just cost-free bluffs (or so they think to be cost free. They’ll pay a cost, take my words for it!). The best the war hawks of the Empire hope for is the gullibility of Taiwanese/Vietnamese/Philippinos, et al) of falling for the narrative, under the lingering impression that the Empire is still numero uno and would deliver bloody noses on China in ultimately coming to their aid, and make the kind of fatal errors the Ukies are now suffering from. The Empire itself has enough brain to keep score on where things stand. The farthest thing on their mind is to fight China in East/Southeast Asia. They know that today, unlike as late as 15 years ago, that they stand NO CHANCE of even delivering enough damages on China to make their casualties worthwhile, let alone delivering bloody noses. Beats getting a part of your ear shot off! Posted by: LightYearsFromHome | Jul 17 2024 22:40 utc | 122 Biden did a good job of crashing the semiconductor stocks today with his threat to tighten controls on sales to China, which will only result in lower sales for US and other Western chip makers and China working even harder to overcome the Western technology lead. Let’s see if that is actually the top for the AI bubble, or just another correction before the vertical blow-off. Future headline “President Biden has been greatly affected by complications from his COVID infection and therefore is stepping down as President and removing himself from the 2024 race, Kamala Harris has been sworn in as President and Gavin Newsom as Vice President. The Democratic Convention will pick the new presidential candidate in August.” isitpossible | Jul 17 2024 17:34 utc | 12 Posted by: Cynic | Jul 17 2024 22:56 utc | 126 anon2020 @ 25:

Am nowhere near your knowledge level of such matters but read a while back that part of the Globalist Reset requires initial bifurcation of West vs ROW because the upcoming systemic changes will be handled differently. After the world is ready, then it will become one great unified whole again. Don’t know if this is one of the reasons but for example getting the West fully digitized and surveillanced etc. is going to be different in so-called liberal democracies with extensive rights to privacy etc. than it is in more traditional-authoritarian strong states like nearly all in Asia and around Russia. But once everything is up and running, however long that takes, it will all be unified at some point because essentially it will all be the same technologically driven socio-political matrix. james @ 29

Roger@124, in the process of blaming Biden for hurting the stock market for techs and losing EV superiority for the US, wrote “The US leadership are working to turn the US into the technology equivalent of East Germany with their self-harming tariffs…” As it is, it sounds like it blames the leaders of East Germany for poisoning their local economy by eschewing the benefits of free trade. Aside from seeming to favor neoliberal imperialism’s commitment to free movement of goods, labor and capital when that is profitable, it seems to tacitly assume there was no effort by imperialist powers to restrict investment, trade, technology transfers. Even more shocking, it seems to omit that it was the Germany that actually paid very large reparations to the Soviet Union, reparations large enough to cause serious hardship. The contrast with the western part of Germany, which was one of the beneficiaries of the infamous Marshall Plan, would be shocking, if that was meant. But I can’t seen how I have misread it, a clarification please? Not sure, but I think the Globalist vision (no doubt there are factions, but) is generally collectivist and therefore kissing cousins with communism. So individual rights will be gradually retired, also perhaps private property. Could get nasty. I suspect 5+Eyes is going to be declining steadily to be closer to second world for most with a shrunken middle class whilst the RoW moves up until that is true for most of their citizenry too, though Latin America and Africa have much further to go than Asia. “Martyanov has a soft spot for JD Vance” Posted by: Wisco | Jul 18 2024 0:52 utc | 161 https://peakprosperity.com/live-trump-assassination-attempt-what-happened-whats-next/ Posted by: Pooblius | Jul 18 2024 1:03 utc | 162 Gruff Posted by: Mark2 | Jul 18 2024 1:04 utc | 163 Not enough people buying the TDS narrative that Trump staged his own assassination attempt, so the spam will continue. Search for Orban in the last week or so. He just did a world wide tour and ended it by writing a letter to all European leaders saying Trump has a plan to end this which Russia and Ukraine could stomach. After which Europe is moving to have Orban ostracized even though he holds the rotating chair (Presidency?) of the European Council.
