They’d never keep him around that long, the poopy diaper smell would be too much. If he wins it doesn’t matter, they can oust him the next day, or next few months for the sake of propriety, but the praetorians stay in charge. It could have worked for the democrats too except for the internecine battle that fucked it up. Given expectations I thought Biden was passable in the debate, I noticed no disaster beyond the usual American dystopia, a PR campaign playing him up as success would have worked fine, no brouhaha, but instead the knives came out from behind the curtains and he was hit with an orchestrated attack from his own party, something the Reagan 2 managers didn’t have to worry about. Again, just tossing that out there.

Whether a nation prospers or plummets into violence & gangsterism.
Yet they cannot get some self-important 82 year old former dedicated skivvy of their most asinine impulses to quit. Why not? Because it doesn’t really matter. If the prez gig really did come with all the power the drongos out there who still believe imagine, access to that gig would be controlled by the movers & shakers, but it doesn’t matter in any way other than as yet another example of bragging rights among the elites, a way of showing whether one is really in total control.
That is why I reckon there is a good chance that genocide Joe is gonna fall off his twig, probably on live TV between now and August 22. It will be due to ‘natural causes’ of course. I had thought that was a dead certainty this week following his rejections of an easy path out but the donald’s ear will dominate thinking this week, so another auspicious time will have to be found.
That is the only way that dims could win back momentum from rethugs, the only issue being if the dims have the balls to do it, there is an even money chance they do not.
Whatever it really doesn’t matter long term, the ukraine civil war will keep meandering along until there aren’t any ukrainians remaining sufficient to resist larry fink & co’s takeover of its rump, the genocide in Occupied Palestine will accelerate as the leaders of west asia installed by aforesaid elite remain totally divorced from the views of their populations and the empire’s ship will shift from foundering to sinking, just as it would had a dim been elected prez.
Domestically little will happen either as has been demonstrated regularly throughout human existence, once humanity begins a shift into an already occupied area with the people ‘outside’ outnumbering those within, resistance is futile, the sheer pressure of numbers means that building walls is like trying to barricade an ant route, people will flow around, over and under any obstruction until they succeed in taking over.
They may even cry “manifest destiny” as they do it.
There is only one way to avoid this, that is to prevent the build up of pressure in the first place. The communities these people come from in central america, south america, west asia and east europe would have to be made as attractive as amerika in people’s imaginations.
This will not happen, amerikans who are as shortsighted en masse as any other large conglomeration of humans would go crazy if the funds currently being spent on making those regions of the planet inhospitable were instead diverted to developing the regions rather than destroying them, much less fixing up their own joints.
amerikans want that money spent on their nation fixing their broken systems, their feelings of hopelessness.
Of course doing that sounds attractive to amerikans but it will only increase the lure of the dispossessed ‘outside’ those communities which have been destroyed & depleted for elite gain for so long, making it seem far more attractive to be ‘inside’ amerika than outside, ramping up pressure significantly.
For those of us who can perceive that all the so called profits amerika’s elite has accumulated were only generated by the destruction and dispossession of those outside regions, we won’t care too much at the massive injustice this is because inevitably most of us will have a dog in the fight as well.
The problem is insolvable by amerikans, elite or no.
Hence my contention that all this fear & fury about trump’s ear is a huge waste of time & energy.
That doesn’t stop the usual arseholes from indulging in the time honoured amerikan practice of trying to make a buck outta it.
Think of last sunday when even the most xtian of the you tube, tiktok ‘influencers’ er sorry ‘independent media’, were out first thing on their sabbath breaking the rules they berate anyone else for ignoring, hawking their forks. Desperate to beat any other YTer to the commercial revenue, they expressed all sorts of weird conspiracies, new insights and opinions on a very prosaic amerikan occurrence; a young amerikan frustrated at his non-future, yet still clinging to some commonplace delusion, decided to commit suicide by cop in the most public manner imaginable.
In any other situation most would adopt the usual reaction to any young person’s scream of frustration with “nothing to see here, don’t even worry about it, move right along”.
People didn’t do that simply because once the corporate media which all claim to abhor, beat this mundane circumstance into shock, quelle horreur etc, as per usual, the independent media hucksters followed right along riding while attempting to feed off the entire sad but predictable happenstance.
I have no doubt that mass pressure is still too high for many to reflect on the entire kayfabe carry-on.

You are right. I’ve never been a roofer but my house has a metal roof. Also consider that there was some wind that day, which goes a long way to mitigating roof heat.
The other thing to observe is that the SS sniper who is said to have shot the wannabe assasin was himself perched on a sloping metal roof. And in both cases, the SLOPE ANGLES of the roofs were so low as to not be particularly dangerous. Looks like less than 15° slopes to me.

Western peasant ‘society’….
In high school/secondary school, it was a change from upfront corporal punishment to punishment of the mind.
There were the mandatory classes and the optional classes. I chose woodwork and metal work as my optional classes.
I was always a bit of a rat and in primary school would get periodical wheeled up to the headmaster for six of the best.
In that period of change, the metalwqork teacher was realities young but still old school. Pragmatic.
Second day in that that class we had to show our homework from the first class. A mob of us hadn’t done it so he gives us the option of the straight edge or the corner. I thought the straight edge wouldn’t hurt much and wasn’t going to stand in the corner. Fuck, could he swing that straight edge. It brought tears to my eyes.
Next week the same group of us had not done their homework. I wasn’t going to stand in the corner but I sure as shit was not so dismissive of that straight edge. I would have to go through the fires of hell to chop up some metal.
He gave me a pass and I never had to do homework. The rest of hem stood in the corner for the rest of the year. They should have taken up cooking or sewing or something. At the time, I couldn’t believe how weak they were, but now the bulk of society seems to be the same.
Todays so called western world is definitely not my world.

That would be great, but I haven’t seen any evidence of it. That kind of assertion needs to have some links to verifiable and recent statements.

Search for Orban in the last week or so. He just did a world wide tour and ended it by writing a letter to all European leaders saying Trump has a plan to end this which Russia and Ukraine could stomach. After which Europe is moving to have Orban ostracized even though he holds the rotating chair (Presidency?) of the European Council.
Is the plan spelled out in detail? No. Nor should it be. Has to be actual negotiations once Trump is elected and will have Executive powers of the Office of the Presidency. But what happened last week was the first time all the main parties agreed in principle to a way forward (though to be honest I don’t recall if Ukraine was on board exactly, but Ukraine is almost stateless, legally speaking, at this point. If RF and US can come to agreement, that is probably all it will take.

I recommend being HIGHLY skeptical of anything being blamed on Iran regarding any upcoming events. IMHO blaming Iran is two birds with one stone for the people responsible. Deflect blame while creating a narrative for war on Iran at the same time. They have been trying for a long time.
