While listening to Rammstein songs in the Mutter collection, I wish you a good recovery in that specialized facility for rehabilitation. Be lazy over three weeks, Doctor’s orders, literally. Johan.

Wow ! Quite a lot is happening that appears to be blazingly predictive.
France will get way worse. Debts, cultural erosion and delusional politics in response.
The UK will get way worse. Eroding healthcare, threatening the globe with a joke of a military, uncontrolled immigration and 80% that didn’t vote for Labour.
The US……oh, God, Trump vs Biden? Or Kamala? Uncontrolled debts and delusional politics and wrecking the dollar.
Israel will get way worse. They can’t fight Hezbollah and Hamas is going nowhere. Netanyahu must keep war going to survive. Their electoral future will be led by genocidal extremists while secular Jews may emigrate.
The West has no metanoia. As in “I screwed up and embarrassed myself and I’m not doing that stuff again”. No sense of old fashioned repentance.

Get better, b!
We’ve all fledged from the nest here, we’ll make do as needed. If you can only manage a regular once-a-week or fortnight Open Topic, I personally won’t mind as your well being matters more. I think though I speak for others in that I’d like at least monthly news that you are still alive (maybe shorter for others). 🙂

‘b’ take your time-if you shut down the MOA for a few days it won’t matter in the fullness of time; what does matter is your successful rehabilitation.

China and the art of slight.
Beijing, June 23, 2024:
Robert Habeck is the German Vice Chancellor and minister for economic affairs and climate action. During a visit to China, the German Vice Chancellor was told that unfortunately it was impossible to have a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang. Instead, Habeck met Zheng Shanjie, governor of the Chinese Zhejiang province.
Beijing, July 8, 2024:
Victor Orban is Hungarian Prime Minister. During a visit to China, Victor Orban met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

I’ve got to be honest b, but with your absence and the blog being frozen for weeks, it was very cathartic, a Zen like virtual moment of reflection. No hands clapping, as the winds roared.
Cheers and speedy recovery M

While there’s still a chance to post, I mean to say thanks to b for everything, and especially thanks for generously (I’d say courageously) letting folks in on your private health problems. It can’t be easy to “open the kimono” like that, but your honesty is manifestly the best policy. (Without good info, we’d assume we’re hearing a cover-story while the deep state takes down MoA, as I’m sure you’re aware, b.)
You take care, b. Time for you to take your time. No problemmo, my man.

Good links to Mish Talk, thanks.
The two most important issues of governance in the West are BY FAR, in order of urgency (1) public debt and (2) demographic decay. Yet all them halfwits in power care about is shithole Ukraine, genocidal Israel, sexual degenerates, importing poverty from Africa/LatAm, the concentration of CO2 and saving the planet, and petty fights for power between center-this and center-that.

Were we living in peaceful times, I’m sure you’d be well on your way to recovery B.
As a 52 year old in good health, the mental health side of me is a concern owing to my inability to shut myself off from the absolute madness engulfing us.
With your announcement today, I’m going to delete every app and homepage from my phone and keep only YouTube music and give myself a break.
I wish you the best, MOA is the best thing since sliced bread as we say in Ireland along with your health is your wealth. The world will survive as it always has without or without us.

I’m seeing the same thing in Canada.
Runaway debt
Political parties devoid of ideas and a system where the first year of a four year mandate is spent deconstructing what the previous party did and the last year is spent campaigning leaving only 2 years for vacation.
Rampant homelessness … when I was a kid in the ’70’s there were half a dozen homeless men in town .. they were winos and you knew them all by name. Today all the good spots under bridges are taken as are all the prime camping spots in the parks. Homeless are squatting in vacants buildings and sheds … even in back yards. It’s not just drug addicts either … some work at full time jobs. New apartments cost so much to build now that someone making twice the minimum wage can’t afford both an apartment and a car to get them to work.
Food inflation rate was running at 10% until it dropped to 2.9% this last year.
Demographics … we have a huge aging population of baby boomers and a nearly destitute generation half the size to support us in retirement. Healthcare is simply collapsing. Waiting lists for a GP are a decade long and people have died waiting for care in hospital emergency rooms. If you don’t have a gaping hole in your chest, a limb falling off with blood still spurting or suffering a heart attack you’re in for a long wait.
Society is broken … we need a reset.

B, we’re with you man. Do what you got to do, and take great pride in all you’ve done for others.

There seems to be something fishy about phase two of the French (s)election. Understandable that the 21st Century reiteration of Leon Blum’s United Front…this time under Melanchon…came up victorious. They essentially ganged-up on LePen. What stumps me, though is how the Rottenchild’s little French poodle, Macaroni, somehow came in second. Are we talking election tampering as in the U$$A during the 2020 Grand Fiasco?

Zionists trying to destroy Western society:

The historical mission of our world revolution is to rearrange a new culture of humanity to replace the previous social system. This conversion and reorganisation of global society requires two essential steps, firstly the destruction of the old established order, secondly, the design and imposition of the new order, the first stage requires elimination of all frontier borders, nationhood and culture, public policy ethical barriers and social definitions.

“The first task of our world revolution is destruction. All social strata and social formations created by traditional society must be annihilated. Individual men and women must be uprooted from their ancestral environment, torn out of their native milieus, no tradition of any type shall be permitted to remain as sacrosanct. Traditional social norms must also be viewed only as a disease to be eradicated.

From your substack, this is Crooke:

The 1970s and 1980s were the point at which the long arc of traditional liberalism gave place to an avowedly illiberal, mechanical ‘control system’ (managerial technocracy) that today fraudulently poses as liberal democracy.

No, what we have today is the logical evolution of true liberalism when released from the constraints of competition with Marxism.
This idea by Crooke, that liberalism took the wrong turn in Albuquerque (70s-80s), reminds me of arguments made by intellectual Marxists when I was in uni. When poiting out the many failures of Marxists polities, they replied: to the problems of revolution, more revolution!
Lol, like all fanatics, liberals contemplating the wrongs of their ideology are not going to admit them as wrongs of their ideology but as proof that what they have now is not their TRUE ideology.

Rarely post, but check into MoA several times a day for the last couple years.
I’ve been through rehab. My advice: Unplug from the news for the entire first week. Then post once to let everyone know you’re still alive. Don’t open comments.
Second week, if you can’t stand staying unplugged anymore, cherry pick a few news sources to read, but better to stay unplugged. Read some books that you’d been planning to read for a long time.
Post that you’re still alive and don’t open comments.
Third week, stay unplugged if you can manage it, because your mental faculties should be entirely focused for these three weeks on yourself and your healing.
Then we will be delighted to have you recharged and well on the way to health again.
We value your blog, and I just returned from 3 weeks travel in Europe where I (mostly) unplugged from the internet. It was very helpful to focus on doing and being rather than the world for a period of time.

looking on the bright side – change happens slowly, but i think this vote more then anything showcases the huge dissatisfaction with the present political system in operation in france, the uk and by extension – all of europe and beyond.. the apparatus itself is hugely flawed.. instead of democracy, we have corporatocracy, or plutocracy…. the class war hasn’t disappeared and it will have to be addressed sooner or later, but that small percentage of unelected leaders that are pushing for a particular agenda – endless war and dominance… the voting shows the cracks in their agenda..

It would seem that the unexpected result of France’s run-off vote on Sunday is evidence that the ‘Israel’ lobby in France is just powerful as in the rest of the West.
According to BBC, in the run-up to the initial snap election, Ms Le Pen stressed that her platform differed from that of her father in that RN is not into jew-blaming and now blames immigrants and Muslims for France’s woes. That sounded like a smart move in jewed-up France and attracted strong support for RN from voters.
However, ‘Israel’ Lobby haters aren’t quick to forgive or forget so they quickly, and successfully, decided to give Le Pen a heavy dose of the Corbyn treatment.
And it worked.

The outcome of French elections is hardly astonishing, except maybe the relatively good showing of Macron’s bloc (168 seats – not far behind the NFP at 182). Anyone calling this a ‘surprise’ or ‘shock’ result knows nothing about France’s electoral system and political traditions.
There’s no need for any conspiracy stuff to explain what happened.
The entire Left and most of Macron’s bloc agree that a Le Pen government would be a disaster for France, and for Europe. So they tactically withdraw candidates to prevent this. Worked fairly well apparently (not for the first time). nb, the same result would be obtained if voters could mark 1st, 2nd, 3rd preferences (as in some other countries).
My best guess is the leader of the Socialist party, Olivier Faure, will be elected Prime Minister – but that may well take a while. Meanwhile there’s no government in office that could enact more neoliberal “reforms” – or send troops to Ukraine.

Take care b., there is no rush from here for a too speedy recovery.
On that note and further to what b. explained about his understandable difficulty in reading long articles, one of the parts of b.’s return that I most noticed was the dearth of a weekly ‘reading list’ here at MoA.
So starting from last night my time (about 15 hours ago) I have been posting links to articles of interest on the off topic thread on the MoA Telegram site. This isn’t administered by b., so that it is an unofficial site which has an advantage for Bernard in that it will not cause him any added workload.
I’ve only posted a couple of links thus far. They have been posted as links without comment so as to keep it relatively easy to wade through.
The proprietor of the Telegram site (qubix aka multi-polar panda) is in favour & as well as adding links himself has suggested that if the thread does become too congested with comments we create a reading list sub-thread to the current off-topic thread.
Kicking off it will be on the main thread with the option of moving it to a sub-thread if it is used a lot.

The neoliberals, whether progs or conservos, are closer to the far-right as defined by either Roozvelt or Dimitrov, than any of those they accuse. They want us to forget that their poster child was Pinochet an similar types, since no self-respecting western countries in the era of Keynesianism would adopt such policies.
It was quite gratifying to see the Chinese label Baerbock and her party as “far-right”. Brownshirts who donned their greens and improved their PR courtesy of the Anglo-American regime.

The hasbara troll “phenon” has conveniently failed to explain why the Comintern was against the Zionists, demanding as early as 1923 from the CP of Palestine (almost entirely Jewish) to denounce Zionism in order to be admitted. The Palestinian communists promptly did.
Interesting bit from the hasbara who’s been pushing the narrative that the Zionists are against “traditional” societal status quo. He left out, very conveniently again, Sheldon Addelson (or his widow) or Sir Walter Rothschild and Lord Balfour. Most “traditional” individuals in the imperial societal norms.
Apparently, b has been doing a good job and most of the barflies have been sufficiently alert that the Zionist orgs dispatched a new fascist troll to fill the site with bs.

US Election Redux:
From a lawyer’s X Post at https://twitter.com/AaronSiriSG/status/1810474827503030502 :

THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT INFO YOU WILL LEARN REGARDING THE 2024 ELECTION:
RFK Jr. could become President by winning only a few small states such that no candidate wins 270 electoral votes. If so, Congress decides the next President and
@RobertKennedyJr
likely wins.
Let me explain. If no candidate wins enough states to earn 270 electoral votes, then the next president is decided by the members of the House in Congress per the 12th Amendment. The House members of each state vote between the three candidates with the most electoral votes (which would likely be Trump, Biden or his replacement, and RFK Jr.). Each state gets one vote and, to become president, a candidate needs the vote of 26 states. (For example, Nevada has six members of the House and those six members would decide which candidate gets Nevada’s one vote). But no Democrat or Republican candidate is likely to get 26 states, especially because some states are evenly split between D and R members, there are never-Trumper members in multiple states, Ds won’t vote for Rs, and vice-versa. Hence, the only way any candidate is likely to win is if enough state delegations agree to vote for the compromise candidate, as occurred twice in the 1800s (this is how Thomas Jefferson became President). And the compromise candidate here is RFK Jr.
This is another reason why Trump/Biden are scared to have RFK Jr. in the debate, why they won’t grant him secret service protection, etc., because he can win with only a very small percent of Americans voting for him…

Anyone know if this is correct. Rings fairly true.

Well, it’s theoretically possible for Ukrainian Catholic Gulag survivors and failed seminary students to be elected Pope (quiz time! guess the novels), but equally improbable as this RFK Jr scenario.

It’s a jolly good laugh that the US expected China to change its ways and become more like a Western country.
Currently we have a Western country (US) with a couple hundred years plus in existence plotting together with Philippines with less than a hundred years as a country, oriented toward besting a huge (and hugely populated) country which has existed over four thousand years. During these years China has developed many inventions, with widespread commerce by land and sea, and unfortunately more recently a hundred years of humiliation by the west (1840-1945). . . So China succeeds while the US fails.

Hi phenon!
I don’t normally mind people sharing just about anything, but this has been a bit too frequent. Sometimes it really is about the style than the substance. If you truly care about your message topic a little less firehose and more garden hose.
Just a helpful suggestion as our host convalesces. 🙂 Thanks!

Should the U.S. intend to launch a global pandemic for the purposes of population reduction and/or genocide, what better mechanism than to plant a bug in a faraway country, to obscure the genesis of the initiating event and to make this appear as if this were out of the U.S.’s control and jurisdiction?
The fact that several selective delivery systems for biological/chemical warfare have already been documented within the borders of the United States adds credence to the perception that a flu planted in another country could be used as a cover for a selective devastation of certain demographic groups within the First World. The declaration of a global pandemic gives the WHO the power to mandate vaccinations, overriding sovereign national law concerning the right of refusal.

SARS ‘comes from China’
H5N1 ‘comes from China’
H7N9 ‘comes from China’
SARS2 ‘comes from China’
SWINE FLU ‘comes from China’
Economic reset, Big PHarma bonanza, culling useless eaters,…

Your query about US elections is another example of your entrenched laziness and lack of personal responsibility to educate yourself using the tools readily available to you Ashley. I suspect it’s directly connected to you being born with a silver spoon in your mouth, never needing to work at anything, or achieving anything yourself, and that you still living off that to a manor born privilege.
Scorpion | Jul 8 2024 16:09 utc | 297
… though frankly if some other posters had better manners and could refrain from childishly gratuitous insult there would be far less tension at the bar.

Every critique of your commentary you declare a gratuitous insult. It’s your go to defence and like your commentary Ashley it is hollow. You are as close to being a genuine Buddhist as Hitler was. Maybe you’re a vegetarian like he was, who knows, who cares. You are a fraud Ashley, a fake. You speak out of your mouth six ways to Sunday. Anyone who knows the definition for sophistry recognises it in your comments easily. The monarchist and fascist views are clear as day. Your almost total ignorance of known history on the topics you speak are as clear as day. Your biases plain. Your opinionated self-serving superiority is obvious. The lack of reason and insights, lack of logic and knowledge base are undeniable. These are not insults Ashley. These are objective observations, often known as self evident facts contained in the comments you make yourself. You are an open book. You are clearly untrustworthy given all that you have hidden about yourself and what you think and why you think it. Your every word declares you a non-Buddhist and a not knower. History escapes you entirely.
Clearly Ashley you have no idea the meaning of and tranquillity to be found within “Rest in Natural Great Peace”

There are a series of revolutions coming that will readily sweep your ilk to the gutters of history past.

History and narrative, plus the ethical responsibility for the meaning that you give to the past when recounting it. AS well as what sources you use to tell that biased incomplete narrative.
https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/philosopherszone/history-and-narrative/103956074
a neat tight 30 minute review of how history happens in it’s reporting.
Many people are aware of these matters, I know I am and have been for decades. eg I know the American narrative is a series of egregious lies. I did not always know this. Ashley is not aware of what he does unless he is designing stories to manipulate others here with perverse intent. Irrespective of intent the output is perverse. Untrue and distorted.
Like someone saying Folke Bernadotte was killed in the King David Hotel terrorist attack, being told that’s wrong, and doubling down insisting it was true. It’s not normal well adjusted human behaviour. It is not respectful of others, it is insulting.

I think you’re on the right track: shaking up routines which drive you crazy.
For those accustomed to a search for meaning in life, meaningless times are bad for the brain, which is left to run around in little circles and atrophy. In my own choice of self-therapy to salve the meaninglessness, I’ve turned to philosophy, to poetry, and most intensively to mathematics, of all things. Strenuous exercise for the mind to keep in shape, like working the body enough to burn off the baby-fat.
My short-term goal is to understand the algebraic tricks with limits they cooked up to describe motion: derivatives and integrals. Taking my time, along the way, I’m learning more about truth every day. In particular, mathematical study teaches you to distrust your hunches. In the correct answer, there’s always something counter-intuitive. The confusion started when zero invaded the number system.
This mathematical exercise seems appropriate for a bar:

News from the USA’s bitch in the southern hemisphere, Australia.
Australia to build Top Secret cloud in AWS for military and spooky users
“Interoperability with US infrastructure a big selling point”
https://www.theregister.com/2024/07/04/australia_aws_top_secret_cloud/

“The announcement states the cloud will require a spend of up to AUD$2 billion ($1.35 billion) over ten years. We understand that sum will cover the cost of building three dedicated datacenters, and establishing a local subsidiary of Amazon to run them and the cloud.”

Australia (further) outsources it’s sovereignty to the USA. Amazon will naturally funnel all data to the NSA/CIA despite the promises. It’s legalised under the USA’s CLOUDs act anyway.
Depressingly this is a trend that has been on-going for both state and federal governments. Microsoft’s Azure cloud has infiltrated much of the branches of Australian government. Any data the Federal, State or councils have is probably stored or processed by Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, etc, which naturally becomes USA’s data.
Australian military to buy small US-made lethal drones being used by Ukrainian forces
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-07-08/australian-military-to-buy-small-american-made-lethal-drones/104069310

“Details of how many of the American drones Australia will purchase and at what cost remain unknown, although the Switchblade 300 is believed to cost between about $90,000 and $120,000.”

The details of how many and how much was paid is kept secret for the protection of the MIC, and to stop China and Russia laughing at the Aussie suckers.
Prime minister names Jillian Segal as first Australian anti-Semitism envoy
By political reporter Jake Evans
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-07-09/jillian-segal-named-anti-semitism-envoy/104074590

“Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has named Jewish lawyer and business leader Jillian Segal as the nation’s first anti-Semitism envoy, in response to the rise of Jewish people being targeted amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.
Ms Segal is an accomplished lawyer with extensive business experience, including as deputy chancellor of UNSW, serving on the board of the National Australia Bank and as a president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ).”

Great to see the Australian government spring into action to protect the feelings of the Zionist terrorists whilst they commit genocide freely.

(No conspiracy necessary to explain the counter-intuitive reduction in RN’s July 7 share of the total votes cast)

I beg to differ. In Oz, both the Liberal and Labor Party members of the ruling duopoly are Jew$lave$ and oppose pro-Palestine protests. And it’s the same in every country in the ‘Christian’ West.
It was a simple task for The Lobby in France to tap its Jew$lave$ in the parties it ‘influences’ to arrange an anti-RN smear campaign to tilt the balance away from RN.
It wasn’t as successful as The Lobby had hoped but it was good enough to erode the anticipated ranking of RN as Number #1 vote catcher.
As an aside, when the genocide in Occupied Palestine began to inflame public opinion in Oz against Jewrael, bought and paid for PM Albinese delivered a very stern lecture to Aussies about what lovely people jews are.
It’s not the end of history but it’s going to take a long time to cleanse Western Politics of ‘Israeli’ influence.
