Iran is blaming the US for the crash, saying that US sanctions prevented them from having access to parts for aircraft.
————–
Mohammad Javad Zarif: The fault of the President’s helicopter crash is the United States, which has embargoed the sale of aircraft and aviation parts to Iran despite the order of the International Court of Justice.
These will be recorded in the list of US crimes against Iran.

That’s not Iran saying, it’s the Technocrat Faction (now outside Government) playing their game:
“Let’s start negotiate with U.S., reach an agreement and get back to normal relations with West. We need them!”

I should have made myself clearer. Raisi was the man who balanced the competting factions within the Iranian elite and he did with skill.
Hence why Tehran is more tense than it’s been in years, probably decades. No one knows what will happen. There will be elections in Iran within the next 50 days.

Comment – usual ambushes etc of IDF. Now with 9 IDF brigades flooding Gaza, itge Arabs have a target rich environment. A video of a purported sniping attack on a IDF soldier ; appears that the round hit the dirt behind the soldier.
barflies – did the round hit the soldier or the dirt behind him ?

So what do you think will be Irans response will be for their Presidents assassination by Israel?
Posted by: Turk 152 | May 19 2024 15:23 utc | 28
The helicopter is supposedly burnt out. I think finding the problem, a problem, a reason if sabotage, will be a problem and therefore a response equally difficult. If there is a perpetrator a saboteur they will probably be on one of the other helicopters. I can’t believe the President and FM got into one helicopter and flew in that weather over that terrain.

JUST SEEN – Massive News⚠️
Reports are coming in that Iranian intelligence and special forces have raided Indian embassy in Tehran.
Iran got a tip from unknown sources that India might be acting on Israel’s behalf to assassinate Iran’s President Ibrahim Raisi.

Pictures of reported helicopter wreckage. Lots of FUD. Although the very odd rollout of the whole story seems like they needed a few hrs to fully piece together a somewhat coherent narrative.
Very hard to believe that Iran needed to request thermal imaging drones and night vision tech from other countries? What is with them always pushing Iran not having night vision technology anyway? Can order that stuff off Amazon at this point if someone needed to.

The armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday morning foiled a coup attempt involving foreign fighters, including CIA agents. A representative of the DRC army announced this in a televised statement.
According to the military, the conspirators planned to destabilize the situation in the country and overthrow the current government. As a result of operational actions, several foreign citizens were detained, including agents of the US Central Intelligence Agency.

Thank you B for this video of Prof. John Mearsheimer exchanging his views on Palestine with an audience at CIS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAfIYtpcBxo
It has received 916,000 clicks in two days which is about normal for Mearsheimer’s videos.
What is remarkable about Mearsheimer, he does not buy the official version of how the IDF’s actions are being justified (finishing off Hamas), instead, he says, the real aim of Netanyahu & Co. has always been ethnic cleansing of both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The idea has been to kill enough people (current score: above 35,000) to give the rest an incentive to leave.
Now, Israel has obviously failed to achieve this goal – the survivors are still bottled up in the Gaza Strip and Israel does what it can to starve them to death. What even Mearsheimer fails to mention is the fact that those people had, at no time, any option of where to flee to, since Egypt kept the Rafah border crossing closed. So this has been bad planning on the part of Netanyahu. When asked by the audience about the prospects of resolving this, Mearsheimer admits to being just as clueless as we are. Nobody has an idea what is to become of the 2 million people trapped in the enclave.

Considering what the Germans did in the Soviet Union, I think the Soviet response was quite restrained.
Posted by: JAB | May 20 2024 0:19 utc | 141

We still await the evidence. There ought to be scores if not hundreds of mass graves to investigate and yet neither the Soviet Union nor any of the successor states have bothered. What has stopped them? Maybe the tale of German atrocities is false and is a cynical ploy to justify or mask Allied misbehaviour? But of course that cant be right – we are the good guys

grunzt | May 20 2024 11:43 utc | 213
The original plan was ‘ethnic cleansing’ (stupid euphemism) – with Tel Aviv probably betting that Egypt would open the border crossing once things got bad enough. But Cairo refused, and ever since there’s been no plan whatsoever. Killing 2+ million people is not an option, and evacuating/ expulsing them via the floating pier would take ages.
Looks to me like Netanyahu is just biding time, e.g. 2-3 months talking about Rafah offensive before actually starting it. Waiting for…something, external circumstances to change, somebody coming up with an idea, “the world” declaring its readiness to take them in? idk.
(nb, I wouldn’t trust Mearsheimer too much on matters Israel, he has some idées fixes.)
Another option was mentioned by Thirsty | May 20 2024 2:14 utc | 159 :
(not that it convinces me, US starting a ground operation shortly before elections…)
Laith, states around min 15 that he believes the Pier is built as a beach head to allow the U.S. to invade Gaza if and when the Israeli military collapses.
He does not seem to give credence to the idea that it could be a pathway to the ‘transfer’ of the people of Gaza in the ethnic cleansing project that Israel and U.S. have been jointly coordinating since the start of the invasion.

LightYearsFromHome | May 20 2024 9:48 utc | 192
My thoughts exactly. If Tehran publicly calls it an ‘assassination’, there will be loud calls for retaliation – and mindless revenge is rarely a good strategy, cf. Gaza. Not to mention that knee-jerk ‘animal instinct’ policy isn’t Iranian style at all.
To publicly declare such, they’d need solid evidence that stands up to international scrutiny, present it at UNSC etc. Also, they’d need a plan what they intend to do when UNSC action is blocked by US/UK veto.
So it’s a good, sensible thing that Khamenei has declared 5 days of mourning.
The Indian angle is an interesting possibility.
While the current Indian government may be pro-BRICS+ and sign important contracts with Tehran, we don’t know who’ll win the ongoing elections. Also the pro-western faction(s) in New Delhi may want to sabotage India’s Eurasian BRICS/SCO integration.
In other words: What if this isn’t about Iran at all – but about India?
Also agree with MFB | May 20 2024 7:15 utc | 176 :
It is also, of course, possible that the Iranian President was murdered by the British or Americans for their own reasons, not necessarily to serve Israeli interests. So even if evidence of sabotage is found, and even if there was a rude note in Hebrew scribbled on the bomb, this does not prove Israeli involvement. One can easily see that NATO could have an interest in fomenting violence between Israel and Iran.

Deniable genocide that could be classified as “military necessity” or some such could pass, but as the bodies and rubble are piling up, mass grave discovered etc., this is increasingly problematic.
There is also awkward contrast with propaganda about “Uighur genocide” and “Russian atrocities” with events in Gaza. How the heck IDF in Gaza is less attrocious than Russia and less genocidal than China? Older people are conditioned to swallowing contradictions, but the younger generation has still delicate throats. And TikTok was banned to late.

RE: “So what do you think will be Irans response will be for their Presidents assassination by Israel?”
Posted by: Turk 152 | May 19 2024 15:23 utc | 28
The fact is, if foreign foul play involved, the US/UK is as easily culpable as Israel. BRICS destruction is US goal, much more than US cares about proxy Israel. The U.S. has more at stake with Iran ME prominence than Israel. And the UK is helpless in its shipping supremacy with Yemen. Israel is a sideshow for the U.S./UK ME primacy.
As for “Iran response”… NONE. Why should they change anything? They are winning on all fronts. The Global PR and international relations are strengthening year by year. The economy is very slowly improving for their citizens. They have strategic military alliances with superpowers. They are wiping the floor in Gaza via supported alliances & proxies.
Yemen can shut the seas anytime and cause considerable global economic pain.
Their only job and focus should be their own National stability & their owns citizens wellbeing. They’ve already won. Israel is in an unrecognizable global PR pariah that will not recover now for decades, the U.S./EU continues to implode and decline.
I can see Iran doing some covert hit & runs. But unless directly attacked by US/Israeli forces, will continue path of Iranian stability & continued BRICS involvement.

That’s quite plausible and assuming there are no further escalations it would be in Irans interest not to respond. However, I find it highly unlikely that if Israel’s objective is to illicit a reaction by Iran, that this will end if Iran merely turns the other cheek. Israel will not tolerate a strong Iran, so if there is no reaction, Israel will hit again and where to we go from here to obtain that reaction? They presumably just assaasinated the President. I assume Iran understands this, so what choice do they have? Without bringing the US into this or dropping a nuclear weapon to show the world their strength, they will be beaten by lowly Hamas, which will make them vulnerable to everyone.

information from Alastair Crooke with Judge Andrew Napolitano May 20, 2024:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm77pukdwyY
1. The reigning monarch of the Saudi royals makes absolute law that must be obeyed by all members of the family.
2. The reigning monarch is seriously ill, probably near death, but a decree he issued some years ago and that is “law” for all princes, i.e. Prince binSalman, states that KSA may NOT ally with Israel unless and until Israel returns to 1967 borders and Palestinians are granted sovereign statehood. Agreement from Israel must be in writing.
So MbS is bound by the ‘decree’ of dying monarch.
Thus, when Jake Sullivan returns from parlay with Saudis and says, “We are close to a deal,” the definition of “close” is suspect, as in, Raisi’s helicopter was “close” to completing flight safely.

I see 256 groups (the nation states that are divided into districts the boundaries of which cover the entire earth; so everyone in the world is captured into these territorially divided nation states. Like a franchise, the oligarchs are awarded a territory to manage and rule subject to top down control each territory is divided into 3-layers with armed force and rule of law pushing downward seeking satisfaction for those in the top layer and those wages-slaves in the bottom layer pushing upward seeking access to government and guarantees that their human rights will be honored.
top layer supports the wealth intentions of the oligarch, and is composed of the secret service and private army and international organizations.
middle layer the government, its bureaucracies, its NGOs, think tanks, private corporations, banks, trusts, and partnerships and the like as well as the mind control media distributed propaganda support the wealth intentions of those above and the profit interest of those in this level.
bottom layer the governed mostly wage slave people and their families(the masses) struggling to survive with virtually no access to government. The people in this lower level are divided into many, many different fractionated groups; i.e. race, age, religion, education, political, economic, location, abortion, truth, whatever etc.
but in reality bottom up humanity itself is not divided.. Every human is born naked, and wants to survive and to live within the grant of the human rights their maker intended for them. The nation state system is designed to allow the middle layers to mute the human rights of those in the bottom layers.

Does anyone here actually realize how far back Israeli slaughter and theft really goes.
Let’s take a look: Joshua 6:20–24
20. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet and the people shouted, that the wall fell flat, so that the people people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and the took the city.
21. AND THEY UTTERLY DESTROYED ALL THAT WAS IN THE CITY, BOTH MAN AND WOMAN, YOUNG AND OLD, AND OX, AND SHEEP, AND ASS, WITH THE EDGE OF THE SWORD. (emphasis mine)
22. But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
23. And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24. And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: “only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, and they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord.
\\
So there you have it — Total annihilation goes all the way back to Israel and Joshua — they were the first to take it up. They spent their time killing, seizing and destroying.

Numbers 31: 17
God tells the Jews to “take revenge” upon the Midianites. There was no real mention beforehand what the Midianites had done, although they are mentioned alongside the Moabites, who Jewish men were sleeping with and worshipping baal with. Oh, and a Moabite somehow cursed the Jews with plague.
Anyways, Israel “takes revenge” and conquers Midian, and God tells them to kill all the men and boys.
The Jews anger God by killing only the men.
So God tells them, in Numbers 31:17, because the Jews disobeyed him, he commands them to kill all men, boys, and non-virgin women and animals, and take the virgins as concubines (rape em).
God is love.

The PA’s Mahmood Abbas recently told an Arab League meeting in Bahrain that Hamas was responsible for Israel’s gemocidal attack on Gaza. Hamas begs to differ
“Since 1948, the Zionist enemy has never waited for excuses to commit crimes against our people,” Hamas said in a statement.
“The Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas said on Thursday it regretted remarks by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in which he accused the group of having given Israel “pretexts” to wage war on Gaza, AFP reported.
“We express our regret regarding the remarks made by the president of the Palestinian Authority… at the Arab summit held in Manama,” Hamas said in a statement.
“In the statement, Hamas said that Israel, which has been killing, terrorizing and torturing defenseless Palestinians since 1948, does not need pretexts to commit more crimes against them.
“Since 1948, the Zionist enemy has never waited for excuses to commit crimes against our people,” the statement said.
“The movement added that the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7 constituted the most important episode in the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Israeli occupation, which violates their rights and sanctities, and abuses all Palestinians including prisoners.
“In the statement, Hamas reiterated its keenness to complete national unity, saying its leadership has shown the required flexibility at all stages, in order to strengthen the internal front and unify the national ranks, including in the recent meetings that took place in Moscow and Beijing…”
“…A poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research last December showed that support for Hamas has more than tripled in the occupied West Bank compared to three months earlier.
“In the Gaza Strip, support for the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas has also increased despite the war and the difficult conditions the population is enduring in the besieged enclave.
“Moreover, “support for President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah party drops significantly” according to the poll.
“The same is true for the trust in the PA as a whole, as demand for its dissolution rises to nearly 60%, the highest percentage ever recorded in PSR polls.”
“The most shocking number, however, is the one concerning Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. “Demand for Abbas’ resignation is rising to around 90 percent, and even higher in the West Bank,” according to the poll.
“When asked about the military operation carried out in southern Israel by Hamas on October 7, the overwhelming majority – 81% to 89% in the West Bank and 69% in the Gaza Strip – said it was a “response to settler attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and on Palestinian citizens and for the release of prisoners from Israeli prisons.”…..

I am still pondering the premature declarations of Israeli’s innocence and conspiracy theorist allegations, the typical Empire crime cover up talking point . Larry Johnson and Scott Ritter are merely all the information that is fit to webcast and are protecting Israel from war and potentially WW3. While Iran may not be interested because it would undoubtedly face a horrendous battle, that is the expected sequence of events of a foreign state assasinating a President and Iran seems to have the capability to destroy Israel.

How does killing even more people make any sense? Too lazy to find the quote but I think it was from Nasrallah lately that said something to the effect attacks on the entity will stop once everyone is treated as equals in the region and we can live together peacefully on the same land. Nothing about revenge, nothing about killing a bunch of people, nothing about kicking anyone out forever.
Another incredible example that happened recently is when Haniyeh did not even want more blood shed when his own children and grandchild were killed.
Those are the examples to follow and the ones that will win out in the end no matter how long it takes.

Probably the oligarch and government leaders of these three countries are not eligible to participate in the exploitation of the Levantine oil and gas reserve and pipeline profits delivering western owned gas into Europe? After NORD STREAM II was blown up and sanctions cancelled use of or purchase of Russian Gas, finding a replacement gas and oil provider became urgent for Europe.
Convenient it is that refineries are centrally located, in nearby Haifa. Likely these pipeline projects and gas shipments can be completed and begin soon after the Gazaians have been removed from any chance that the Palestinians may have to share in the oil, gas and pipeline wealth coming from the Levantine Reserve (12 miles off shore to Palestine)?
Lucky it was, that the discovery of the Lavantine Reserve gas and oil happened just before the 2014 coup events in Ukraine occuring just in time, as it turns out, to provide Europe its energy from the new source.
I wonder if a Russian victory in Ukraine will make it possible for Europe to once again benefit from Russian gas supplies?

Going over the Oct 7th attack and aftermath, esp. the judicial.

South Africa’s Legal Procedure against The State of Israel
On January 11, 2024, The Republic of South Africa presented to The Hague World Court, a carefully formulated Legal Procedure against the State of Israel predicated on The Genocide Convention.
This legal procedure, however, has not contributed to repealing the ongoing genocide and saving the lives of tens of thousands of civilians.
I should mention that the False Flag issue –which constitutes a crime against humanity– was casually ignored by the ICJ.
Our suggestion is that an investigation followed by a legal procedure pertaining to the “False Flag” should be undertaken.
The heads of State and heads of government who have endorsed Israel’s Genocidal Acts are from a legal standpoint complicit.
The ICJ Judgement was contradictory. The Presiding Judge (former legal advisor to Hillary Clinton) was in conflict of interest:
The ICJ Judgment of January 26, 2024 assigns the Netanyahu government representing the State of Israel –accused by the Republic of South Africa of genocide against the People of Palestine– with a mandate to “take all measures within its power” to “prevent and punish” those responsible for having committed “Genocidal Acts”. (under Article IV of the Genocide Convention)
Sounds contradictory? What the ICJ judgment intimates –from a twisted legal standpoint– is that Netanyahu’s Cabinet which was “appointed” to implement the “prevent and punish” mandate cannot be accused of having committed “Genocidal Acts”.
Our intent is to provide a broad and detailed understanding of the false flag issue:

Forgiveness to avoid escalation and promote peaceful coexistence, not vengeance. This is what Islam teaches (not the media spread falsifications).“Who spend [in the way of Allah] in ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people – Allah loves those who do good” [Surah 3: verse 134].

Pentagon said aid not getting into Gaza, Biden slows convo on Palestinian statehood
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C1aZvXIrLs
None of the aid that has been unloaded from the temporary pier the US constructed off the coast of Gaza has been delivered to the broader Palestinian population, as the US works with the UN and Israel to identify safe delivery routes inside the enclave, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.
Several desperate Gazans intercepted trucks delivering aid from the pier over the weekend, leading the UN to suspend the delivery operations until the logistical challenges are resolved.

Situation in Gaza is ‘catastrophic’, UN food boss warns | Israel-Hamas war
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMN141XGK_o
The head of the UN World Food Programme has told Sky News famine is present in Gaza and children are “wasting into the size of a skeleton”.
Cindy McCain said the situation on the ground is “a complete disaster” and no aid was getting into the strip.
The US military said on Friday that the first aid shipment to arrive in Gaza via a temporary pier had gone ashore.
These monstrous Israeli crimes, this horrific genocide must be end immediately. How much longer must the Palestinian people continue to suffer so terribly? It’s obvious that from the very beginning of the conflict Israel has been the cruel criminal and the Palestinians its tragic victim.
Free Palestinian state within the borders established by the UN is the only right, just and wisest solution and the only way to achieve peace. Israel must be forced to end the war immediately and accept the establishment of free Palestinian state. Justice must be finally be served.
