This is a way to cut down the total numbers. However, the smaller figure given is ONLY for clearly identified dead people, the larger total includes the dead who have not been identified, without heads, or just a lot of body bits. (Many children are left unidentified when separated from their families)

Zionist settlers attack humanitarian aid trucks intended for starving Gaza population
Settlers attack and destroy humanitarian aid trucks throwing bags of wheat flour, as you can see in this video, intended for the civilian population of Gaza who are suffering from famine organized by Israel.
We are witnessing a real war crime, a fully accepted organized genocide because the most shocking thing about all of this is that they have the nerve to film themselves and broadcast the videos around the world! They are filming evidence of their war crimes without fear of any repercussions! This is unprecedented in human history, it is unique, this barbarity has no equivalent.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your light. This may be one of the most peaceful and productive Palestine topics in so many weeks. And I accord that to all of you rising to the challenge to emphasizing the good we can share and respectfully receiving that from others.
The Zionism sickness, like any authoritarian/totalitarian supremacist exclusionary movement, wants to coarsen us, leave us divided, despairing, and thrashing about so as to excuse their evil and crack down harder. Broken people seek to make more broken people, all the more to manipulate and dominate for their sick, sad nightmares. They are pitiable when you return to the light.
Let us act out on our aspirational dreams and encourage others into a new and better world!

“UN seemingly halves estimate of Gazan women, children killed”
As far as I make out:
Tricky headline, and false hence “seemingly”.
The confirmed (smaller) number for women and children is not an estimate but confirmed, if anything is an undercount.
It should read “UN no longer sub-defines officially offered unconfirmed casualty reports”
Difference is
Old
“Hamas controlled” Government Media Office:
included reported casualties with gender and age classification.
New
“Hamas controlled” Gaza Ministry of Health:
confirmed casualties, with the @10 000 reported casualties included as unclassified with no gender or age attributed.
True number – no one knows, and there are those who will not be found at all.

Thierry Meyssan is wrong. It’s that simple. 100 years ago is 1924; the Zionist movement was well underway before that. It succeeded because of the “Christian Zionism”, as we would say today, of the evangelist PM, Lloyd George, when he was faced with the imminent conquest of Ottoman Palestine.

To defend the interests of US corporations the government has run a “Black” Fascist International of murderers in alliance with Israel, NATO and fascist governments throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America.
“The Secret History of Israel’s Role in Genocide in Colombia”
“As a diplomatic row erupts between the former allies, Dan Cohen republishes his 2021 MintPress News exposé on the role of Israeli agents in training death squads and devising plans for genocide in Colombia.”
“….In his autobiography, AUC founder Carlos Castaño wrote that he had studied from 1983-1984 in Jerusalem’s Hebrew University and in Israeli military schools. Castaño described the training in advanced weaponry and tactics he received that would become the basis of Colombian paramiltarism’s war against farmers:
“I received instruction in urban strategies, how to protect oneself, how to kill someone or what to do when someone is trying to kill you. …We learned how to stop an armored car and use fragmentation grenades to enter a target. We practiced with multiple grenade launchers, and learned how to make accurate shots with RPG-7s, or shoot a cannon shell through a window.”
“Castaño also “received lectures on how the world arms business operates, and how to buy arms.”
“In addition to the military training he received, Castaño credits his time in Israel with revolutionizing his entire worldview. During that period, the soon-to-be mass-murderer became an ardent admirer of Zionism and became convinced it was possible to stamp out the insurgency at home in Colombia:
“I admire the Jews for their bravery in confronting anti-Semitism, their strategy for survival in the diaspora, the surety of their Zionism, their mysticism, their religion, and above all for their nationalism… I learned an infinity of themes in Israel and [to] that country I owe a part of my culture, my achievements both human and military, and while I repeat myself, I did not learn only about military training in Israel.
“It was there that I became convinced that it was possible to defeat the guerrillas in Colombia. I began to see how a people could defend itself from the whole world. I understood how to get someone involved who had something to lose in a war, by making such a person the enemy of my enemies. In fact, the idea of ‘autodefensa” [self-defense] weapons I copied from the Israelis; every citizen of that country is a potential soldier.’”
“Klein also trained Jaime Eduardo Rueda Rocha, who in 1989 assassinated Liberal Party presidential candidate Luis Carlos Galán, the overwhelming favorite to win the upcoming election….”

Judaism was born from the seed of it’s own destruction:
Any religion that contains the notion of a “Promised Land”, no matter how metaphoric is doomed.
Some psychopath will always pick the idea up and turn the metaphoric to the literal in the end.
The Europeans recognized the potential of the mind virus early on and realised they’d found the deadliest weapon known to mankind.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Happy is the man that hath
not walked in the counsel of the wicked
nor stood in the way of sinners
nor sat in the seat of the scornful
But his delight is in the law of the LORD
and in His law doth he
meditate
day and night.
And he shall be like a tree
planted by Streams of Water
that bringeth forth its fruit
in its season
and whose leaf
doth not wither
and in whatsoever he does
he shall prosper.
Not so the wicked
but they are like the chaff
which the Wind drives Away
Therefore
the wicked shall not stand
in the Judgment
nor sinners in
the Congregation of the Righteous.
For the LORD Regards the Way of the Righteous
but the way of the wicked shall perish.

ZH has a posting up with the title
Turkey Treating Over 1,000 Wounded Hamas Members In Hospitals: Erdogan
the quote

The NATO country with the second largest military in the alliance has just admitted to aiding and abetting a US-designated terror organization.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in surprisingly frank statements acknowledged that Turkey is currently treating over 1,000 Hamas members in various hospitals across the country. In the remarks he stressed that Turkey does not consider them terrorists, but as part of a “resistance movement” against Israel.
Also surprising is that such an admission, which is sure to anger other Western allies, came as Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was on an official visit with Erdogan in the capital city of Ankara.
“Hamas is a resistance organization whose lands have been occupied since 1947, and it has protected its lands after the occupation,” Erdoğan said, clashing with Greece’s view of the militant organization currently fighting Israel.
“I do not see Hamas as a terrorist organization. On the contrary, I see Hamas as people struggling to protect their own land and their own people,” Erdogan added.
According to more from the exchange:

Speaking at a press conference after talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Ankara, Erdogan also said he was saddened by the Greek view that deems Hamas a terrorist organization.
Greece and Turkey cannot agree on all issues related to the war in Gaza but they can agree that violence must end and a long-term ceasefire is needed, Mitsotakis said.
“Let’s agree to disagree,” Mitsotakis said, responding to Erdogan.

Turkey is a NATO member and has nukes on its soil as I recall.
Our civilization war deepens…..

So, trying to research the data on fatalities for some clarity.
Firstly the UN/Ocha data does NOT include those reported disappeared or buried under rubble.
This is the main page
https://www.ochaopt.org/content/hostilities-gaza-strip-and-israel-reported-impact-day-217
An earlier one eg. day-210 has the older figures.
The changes in Gaza MoH method are due to increased reliance on credible media and civil defence, and later also form based reporting, due to destruction of Gaza medical and information structure.
This eventually led to the recent adjustment by Ocha, which simply reflects the unconfirmed nature of much of the newer reporting by not assigning sub-specific data, such as age or gender, to the later datasets.
https://aoav.org.uk/2024/analysis-of-new-death-data-from-gazas-health-ministry-reveals-several-concerns/
Puts a lot of effort into explaining all of this, and the links of first and second studies on that page are worth reading to understand the sequence.
The short of it is that the true figure is not known now, 50 to 70% women and children and 30 000 plus fatalities, with extra thousands of missing, is probably a realistic starting point.

I’m interested in how thousand hamas fighters get to Turkey for medical treatment. I can understand civilians let out of the prison for medical treatment but are we to believe fighters escape to then board a commercial jet from Egypt. Story seems to have some details missing

Posted by: Hankster | May 13 2024 23:06 utc | 120

So I don’t understand how this works…
If some group murders 15000 women and children and old men instead of 30000 they are magically some type of super moral group that is observing rules of war?
When the signs first went up at Auschwitz, they said 4 million. Now they say 1 million. That’s a better reduction rate at 75%
So does that mean the Auschwitz camp guards get a pass?

War on Gaza: Israel unleashes heaviest bombing in months
Intense air strikes and ground attacks return to Rafah and northern Gaza
The Israeli military has launched a new wave of attacks across the Gaza Strip, similar in intensity to the peak of its seven-month war on the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Heavy air strikes were reported across the strip over the weekend and on Monday, with attacks since Friday killing at least 180 Palestinians and wounding dozens more, according to the Palestinian health ministry……
The ground advances have been met with fierce resistance by Hamas and other Palestinian groups, with at least five Israeli soldiers killed over the weekend, the Israeli military said…..

What I mean is, the entire structure of the American political system gets boiled down to conquest and looting, via war. Everything, everything, is beholden first and foremost to the war machine. It’s not just about money either, it is the curse of wars before.
Money, fear, bureaucracy, taxes, politics, propaganda, all bow to the war god, and all exist for it, and because of it. Real feelings never rise. There was a vet here, really mad, RGHC, something like that. He said stuff I know can get you in trouble.
It is extremely effective.
Why doesn’t America rise up?
Police state is a police state. No talk no more. Lose job, blacklisted, jail, prison, assassination. There is no freedom here. The masses love it that way.

Ralph Nader has been talking about the undercount for a while. The video discusses his recent tweet that estimated 200,000 deaths based on mortality studies used in comparable conflicts and quoted Dr. Devi Sridhar in a Guardian article estimating 500,000 dead within a year due to the siege. 100,000 bombs have been dropped on Gaza, conservatively estimating 2 deaths per bomb gives 200,000 rather than the 35,000 recorded at the Gaza Health Ministry.
The comments section is usually quite robust on that channel and one commenter said a returning Gaza mission doctor said health workers estimate 2 or 3 times the official count for dead and for ‘under rubble.’
No graphs or more substantive data than this I’m afraid. Hard for additional scrupulously correct (always with name, age, and location) official record keeping when physical population records (as well as hospitals, health, media and aid workers) are bombed.

Might not be too far from the 30k official number, usually shelling takes a ton of TNT per killed.(in WWI roughly 10 million tons of explosives were used to kill roughly 10 million soldiers)
Somewhere there was a mention of two atom bombs worth, 30 Kton? that would be close to the 30.000 killed.
But indiscriminate shelling might be less effective and yes, twice as much is within the possible (but the 200.000 unlikely).
Now, I am discussing only the probable number, compare with the number of civilian deaths by RF actions in over two years and 30.000 is appalling, particularly if soldier to civilian ratios are used.

Yesterday I visited the student encampment to support Palestine. I chose to go on Mothers’ Day to avoid the police. Sure enough, there was no one outside the encampment except a bearded man who lounged on a bench on the stone diases in front of the closed student union building, overlooking the grassy field where the encampment tents are spreads. When I first arrived I was immediately struck by the orderliness of the camp.
I walked directly in. – no barriers, except Free Palestine murals and flags – and immediately felt I was in a special place unlike any other, a space of unity and peace, as others have noted, a sort of otherworldliness or, more accurately, different-worldliness. I felt the tears rise that I must be regularly holding back, and I could have just walked around the place crying out my grief which is so often right beneath the surface.
Most of the students were inside a large tent – it was their dinnertime – but I encountered a couple people walking about; I felt such admiration and gratitude that I told everyone I met how glad I was to see them. I explained to one woman that I wanted to donate some cash for food; she went into the meal tent and brought out another business-like woman who received my cash donation and invited me to eat something. I declined and continued to amble on until I reached a ‘living room’ consisting of a grouping of comfortable chairs and couches grouped underneath an awning where three women were sitting, one softly strumming a guitar. I entered and sat in a back-friendly chair. I started to say again how glad I was to see those students and what a brave and right thing they were doing, and found myself crying again; it seemed to come out of nowhere perhaps from the endings of a number of friendships in my life since Oct.: and the ceaseless suffering of the Palestine people. They said they were glad to see me, and the woman sitting near me moved to the adjacent chair and gave me a hug. How unselfish and kind were these young people!
I learned that Paula (I’ll call her) came from another state and was estranged from her fundamentalist Christian family, an unresolved situation for this young student far from home. Prior to meeting Paula, I had not met any evangelical Christians in this struggle. (I am a JVP supporter and have also attended a Unitarian event in support of Palestine.) Unlike the Zionists would have us believe, these students from a group of inner-city colleges, are not ‘rich kids.’ My encounter with some of them brings home to me how vulnerable are these students who so selflessly and bravely have embraced a struggle which may be bigger, longer-lasting and more costly on a world scale than people may foresee. We had some conversation about Gaza and a bit on Ukraine about which Paula entertained some of the received notions about Russia; Americans mobilized over the barbarity of Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians do not necessarily see the connection with Ukraine, both Israel and Ukraine being proxies of the US global hegemon. Coming from her background, Paula expressed particular dislike for the ignorant, growth-stunted Mike Johnson. The women also discussed the most recent ‘sweeps’ of other student camps nationwide, especially UCLA, and said they were expecting to get ‘swept ‘. They said they were almost always surrounded by police lounging about on the nearby steps of the student union building. One somewhat reassuring thing they told me was that they had a really good lawyer. I can hope from that knowledge that they have some protection. Without any oversight from the slimeball in the WH, who only gets tough on people weaker than himself, the cops can do anything they want to you nowadays if they get hold of you and no one ‘has your back’. The students also talked about the bogus anti-Semitism law. Paula said she was hoping maybe the protesting Israeli relatives of the hostages would exert some influence on Netanyahu, but she and the others said they believed Netanyahu was focused on killing Palestine civilians more than defeating Hamas. Other students including the leader I had met earlier arrived for an SDS meeting. Twilight was coming on and I took my leave.
Monday I had a feeling of foreboding. There was no schedule posted on the net of the camp’s events. SDS usually posts everyday. Until 4:00 when a rally was posted. Later on I read that students had staged an action inside a building, a number had been arrested and the campus was put on lockdown for a couple of hours.
In this case, the police dept. has declined so far to remove the camp, saying no law has yet been broken. But the administration has refused to seriously consider the students’ demands or even to participate in a substantial meeting and has lied to the students. I am assuming the students were brushed off again today and tried to corner the administration. As Paula said, “they think we’re criminals.”

Posted by: Lavieja | May 14 2024 12:05 utc | 143

Lavieja 144. A couple of sentences fell out of this report that better capture these students’ experience subjected to law enforcement. What stood out as I was searching up on this was that 3/4 of sites offered by search were “Israeli” and 9/10 were pro-“Israel”. It takes a while for a person to orientate and mull over any reality (here simply a few hours searching and browsing), the take-away today being that it was disturbing to find that virtually all media likely to be accessed normally by anyone is basically gleeful reporting that due to the destruction of their medical and information structure Palestinians are no longer able to provide accurate data on the number of people killed.
That is to say, the western press as a whole is celebrating that murder or genocide is able to occur, and continue to occur, by erasure of normal or pre-existing forms of accountability.

Sharing an excerpt of Pepe Escobar’s 5 star insight from 11 days ago re the situation in Palestine.
Much of this brilliant article, seems like something that will surely find it’s way into many history books.

The Russia–Iran–China search for a new global security order
https://thecradle.co/articles/the-russia-iran-china-search-for-a-new-global-security-order

Pepe Escobar

May 3, 2024
—
While the collective west is in the grips of an existential legitimacy crisis, the RIC is devising its own security order to protect the rest of the world from the ‘genocidals.’
At the UN Security Council, China now openly questions not only the state terror attack on the Nord Streams but also the US–Israel combo’s blocking of Palestinian statehood. Moreover, Beijing, just like Moscow recently, hosts Palestine’s political factions together in a conference aiming to unify their positions…
Russia, meanwhile, provided a platform for the UNRWA – the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, which Israel has sought to defund – to explain to high representatives of BRICS-10 the cataclysmic humanitarian situation in Gaza, as described by UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
In short, serious political business is already being conducted outside of the corrupted UN system, as the United Nations disintegrates into a corporate shell with the US dictating all terms as the largest shareholder.
…
The interlocking Russia–Iran–China strategic partnerships were totally in sync. Apart from Dong meeting Shoigu, he also met Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, who lavishly praised Beijing’s condemnation of the Israeli terror air strike in Damascus.
What is happening now between Beijing and Tehran is a replay of what started last year between Moscow and Tehran, when a member of the Iranian delegation on a visit to Russia remarked that both parties had agreed on a mutual, high-level “anything you need” relationship.
In Astana, Dong’s support for Iran was unmistakable. Not only did he invite Ashtiani to a security conference in Beijing, mirroring the Iranian position, he also called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
…
The current military-political situation and threats to our states oblige us … to common approaches to building a just world order based on equality for all participants in the international community.
…
On Gaza, the Russia–Iran–China position is in complete sync: Israel is committing genocide. For the EU – and NATOstan as a whole – this is not genocide: the bloc supports Israel no matter what.
After Iran, on 13 April, changed the game in West Asia for good, without even using their finest hypersonic missiles, the key question for the Global Majority is stark: in the end, who will restrain the genocidals, and how? Diplomatic sources hint this will be discussed face-to-face by Putin and Xi. …
Yet the key question remains: how will Russia–Iran–China (RIC), as BRICS leaders, SCO members, and simultaneously top three “existential threats” to the Hegemon, be able to start implementing a new global security architecture without staring down the genocidals.

The pro-Genocide camp has used The Slur quite effectively.
They would luv to paint the decent folks as commies or destroyers of Israel
or as anti-American or…
People should not create mixed messages.
“Stop the Genocide”
That is the one and only message that should be projected from protests.
Changing the profile of the protestors to “SDS members” works in the favor of the pro-Genocide camp.
And who wants to work in favor of the pro-Genocide camp. No decent person.

SDS goes back to the early 60s and was much maligned during the Vietnam-war era by the mainstream media. Librul may remember that; I definitely do. Its use today to suggest that campus protesters are not legitimate students but “outside agitators” is not surprising.

Posted by: Gene Poole | May 14 2024 16:21 utc | 155

Baby Boomers remember the Vietnam War era
and a divided and divisive protest against the war.
Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) played their part
and put a “commie” face on the protests.
That is not me saying “commie”, but that is what Baby Boomers generally associate SDS with.
SDS members should leave their SDS arm bans at home when going to a Stop The Genocide protest.
All that being said, putting pressure on Israel in the form of divestment TO STOP THE GENOCIDE
is a good tactic.

I actually attended an SDS meeting in the 60’s. I was 15; my father proudly drove me to there, and picked me up when it was over. “Proudly” because he had fought in the resistance in Romania, and he felt that socialism was a good place for a teen to be.
The meeting was disappointing. A bunch of white, college bound teens, discussing how they were going to go get factory jobs and radicalize the workers. I was in doubt as to how their paternalistic attitude would be received.
A few years later, just as the workers did get radicalized and saw common cause with the civil rights movement and the anti-war movement, those disparate fingers about to close into a fist, started waggling independently again as identity politics ate the world. That was even sadder.

The 35,000 are confirmed, with names, ages, locations. About 10,000 more reported missing/under rubble.
The Gaza Ministry has historically been found to be quite accurate.
Recordkeeping is difficult under disaster situations. The US/Canada northwestern heat dome a few years ago determined number of deaths through excess mortality. In some areas emergency services collapsed under the demand and bodies were found in homes after the event.
Gazan administrative recordkeeping offices as well as journalists, humanitarian workers, health workers and hospital are bombed so the usual channels for documentation are broken, making determinations of wounded, dead, disappeared, tortured, famine etc difficult or delayed.
WW1 mortality/ordinance ratios are likely not the best comparative for high tech, AI-supported (Look up Lavender or Who’s Daddy) bombing in one of the most densely populated areas of the world.

re: SDS
At my local encampment a student communist party is definitely involved, perhaps centrally. The appear to contribute knowledge around pamphleting, dealing with police etc. Calling people ‘comrades’ is not my jam but I can get on board with their aspirations of a free people’s pharmacy at the medic tent and food for all.
I can understand concern that a broad-based movement could be undermined by accusations of external communist agitators. Not sure that was lavieja’s intent.
In my view the ‘outside involvement is bad’ argument is faulty – so what? Students are protesting and community members are supporting them. Because we cannot stand seeing parents grieve dead babies killed by bombs our taxes pay for.
In fact, some campuses are asking community members to join. At my local encampment, material support is pouring in. Anything that goes on supplies request list is overfulfilled within 12 hours. Cash donations have multiple zeroes.
That is what’s scary. This is a genuine popular movement that has been ongoing via weekly marches for months. The ‘agitators sparked the encampments’ argument requires evidence. The PTB allege what they allege – but I think people are waking up to the fact that they can’t prove their case. Meanwhile we’ve all seen the horrors that prove the student’s side. Gaza pictures are worth a thousand state sponsored media words. And whether they like it or not (and they don’t), campuses have become networked nodes of resistance to state and corporate genocide enablement.

There is nothing our lords and masters would like better than a fractured crowd with no “outside interference.”
Outside of what? This is a general anti-imperialist (and implicitly anti-capitalist) struggle, and we are all inside of that.
Not surprisingly, Palestine is the focal point for the struggle right now. Few of us are Palestinian, few of us are college students, but we are all called to that struggle. As Mike Davis put it, “We can fight with hope, we can fight without hope, but we must fight.”
Let’s recall that the free speech movement at UC Berkeley, which played a role in turning the tide of the Viet Nam war, was supported and counseled by radicals shaped by the struggles of the 30’s.
My pronoun is comrade. No shame in that.

I was in the old SDS from 1967 until it was disintegrated by factionalism from within in 1969. Almost everyone subscribed to some kind of Marxism although most varieties were very curious indeed. There is a lot of literature on the subject.
A totally new SDS has been refounded taking it’s name in homage to the old. It is much smaller although it is growing. It is heavily influenced by the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, itself a fusion of some of the remnant Maoist grouplets which go back to about 1970.

Not sure how Myessan manages to join the dots of Calvinism and Zionism.
Cromwell imported Dutch Jews whose political descendants are the modern British Tory Party like David Cameron, in order to finance the country and destroy the Royalty’s feudal system of Roman Catholic Ignorance .
Oliver Cromwell destroying Religious Ignorance should make him a hero for our French friend but au contraire Myessan accuses Cromwell of intentionally founding a Protestant Zionist movement that turned into the Monster of US evangelist Zionism which supports Netanyahu’s genocide.
If Oliver Cromwell called in the Dutch , Jewish Bankers solely to finance Britain and bankrupt its expired Royalty, what hope for our modern BRICS countries seeking multipolarity when Zionist Neocon Wolfovitz set up the Chinese banks?
Give us a break , mate. Cromwell didn’t intend the Neanderthals of Feudal Roman Catholicism to be replaced by the even older dinosaurs of Judaism.
Any more than Lenin wanted the Neanderthals of Russian Imperialism to be replaced by the even older dinosaurs of Nazi revisionist Zionism.

On the same theme , has anybody else noticed that when our late Queen and Angela Merkel invited South and West Asia to join us in Europe , and Biden has invited South America into the North, their true intentions were to eliminate leftie socialism and replace it with far right, Asian village conservatism?
Israel was a left wing country until twenty years ago, but has imported right-wing village- mentality nutjobs from Ukraine and the US and it is now openly Fascist.
You cannot blame Russia / USSR for being the first country to recognise Israel when , ever since then , the dark forces of Ukrainian revisionist Nazism Zionism have been imported into Israel to make the catastrophe that now exists.

Guess next week will examine hearing evidence, issue recommendations and back to UNSC where it will be vetoed by US and that’s that.
Guessing they will insist on immediate ceasefire this time, “hostages” freed, humanitarian access.
US will have a draft for “temporary ceasefire, all hostages released, Hamas surrender and then aid can be delivered.
China will veto US… US will veto whoever initiates, or heck, maybe they will all blow of the ICJ “recommendation” and go back to their lives.

It’s too bad North Korea isn’t given any props by Pepe or others to their resistance contributions.
It was N. Korea that trained and showed Iran tunnel building & has funneled boatloads of weapons and equipment to Iran through the years.
It was N Korea that provided Russia with aggro labor and added immensely to Russias aggro sector throughout the years.
It is N. Korea that keeps US lapdog S. Korea & US off of China’s doorstep.
Yes, I realize it’s all mutual benefit, but they are a flank in the resistance that shouldn’t be overlooked or underestimated. Cuba & Venezuela also are strategic bulwarks.

Anti immigration
Pro labor
Now they are:

I think the labels just make it easy for them.
I don’t care what your “label” is, but do care about what you support.
I can agree/disagree when I know the position.

The destruction of unions that resulted from exporting industry to China, the worship of individualism, and identity politics were the toxic brew in which a cohesive worker’s movement…drowned.
That doesn’t mean it’s not potentially there. I would say there’s a widespread consciousness that we’re going in the wrong direction, and Occupy demonstrated that there are lots of potential soldiers, and made people aware of the sliver of humanity that controls everything…but what has been crucially taken away has been the language with which to express that shared consciousness. Gone is the notion for example, of “the common good.”
I was having a biopsy done a month ago, and the doctor, your average non-radical american, was making convo to cheer me up. Talk wandered on to the upcoming election. “You know,” he said, “it’s like a recurring nightmare.” Probably the best characterization I’ve heard yet.
As the campus-based resistance movement shows, there are issues that resonate deeply with people all over the world. And there are reasons why so many identify with a stateless, terrified people. To the extent that we are all fodder for the states where we live, we are all stateless and terrified.
There’s a fantastic essay by Gyorgy Tamas about this. Highly recommend.

That is the first psalm, sunof27. I think I can recite it by heart, let’s see. And I’ve also set it to a melody for myself in the past.
Blessed is the man
Who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly
Nor standeth on the path of sinners
Nor sitteth in the seat of the unrighteous
But his delight is in the way of the Lord,
And on his ways he shall meditate
Day and night.
And he shall be like a tree
Standing by the river of water
That bringeth forth its fruit in its season.
His leaf also shall not wither,
And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so.
They are like the chaff that the wind bloweth away.
Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand at the Judgement
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
For the Lord knoweth the ways of the righteous
And the ways of the unrighteous shall perish.
Amen
I remembered it well; just had forgotten the 6th and 7th line. It is really very singable. Thank you.

“…I don’t spend my time attacking the US war machine because I have any special love for Hamas, Iran, Russia, China, or any other power. I do it because the US empire is quantifiably the most destructive and tyrannical force on this planet, by an extremely massive margin.
No other power has spent the 21st century killing people by the millions and displacing them by the tens of millions. No other power is circling the planet with hundreds of military bases, starving people around the world with blockades and economic sanctions, staging proxy wars, color revolutions and coups all over the earth, and working to destabilize and destroy any nation anywhere on this planet who dares to defy its dictates.
Only the US empire is doing this. No other power comes anywhere remotely close.
That’s as murderous and tyrannical as it gets……”

This is a must see video that fully personifies how hopeless the IDF is. Fighters emerge from a tunnel a few metres away from idling tanks , not spotted by a few infantry and set explosives against a tank others fire RPG then jump down and run away in the tunnel. How can IDF have any chance when up against this tactics. The fighting is back up in northern Gaza long claimed as cleansed by IDF.

2 Navy Destroyers Will Help Protect Military’s Gaza Aid Pier, Official Confirms
“Navy warships will help protect the U.S. military’s soon-to-be-completed pier to deliver aid to starving Palestinians in Gaza, the Pentagon said Tuesday.”
“The two ships will join the thousands of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers — plus Israeli navy ships and Israeli air force planes — that are dedicated to protecting the effort to move food and supplies into Gaza via the sea as Israel’s crushing offensive against Hamas grinds on.”

Thierry Meysson takes us from Cromwell, Benjamin Disraeli, US Civil War to Rev. Blackstone, Hertzl, Cecil Rhodes and Jabontinsky to todays Zionist movement.

That Meyssan article is seriously misleading (as a simplified popular version of not so recent research) in suggesting that imperial Britain was committed to a Jewish state at an early stage in the 1WW. It wasn’t, and the Balfour Declaration says the reverse. There were multiple British policies, in obvious contradiction with one another.
What Meyssan’s article does point up is the importance of what we call today “Christian Zionism”, to be found in evangelical Protestantism as far back as Cromwell, it is obvious. None of the Zionists plans would have come to fruit, had it not been for a basic approval in the minds of the ruling authorities in UK and US. British authorities in the Middle East were all opposed to Zionism; the Balfour Declaration was imposed from London without consultation, by the Christian Zionist PM, Lloyd George. Christian Zionism continues to be the main ideological support in the US even today.

180. Re.the confusion (virtue signalling liberal furor of librul– appropriately named) about SDS, although I am from an earlier era (in my 80’s), I have more in common with these young students who have taken the trouble to learn something of history of resistance in US than Americans in their 40s, 50s and 60s who in true American style don’t know much but think they do.

Goooooood morning campers .
Just in case anyone is being influenced by agit proppers who make the right noises, look like they belong, look like they are coming to help with the protests ….I’ll just remind you of the many cases of undercover police / spooky types in the U.K. since the 60’s .. in every youth groups , from anti apartheid , animal rights to nuclear disarmament to every single green and current climate bullshitters and of course the current anti apartheid entity in the Levant
Some were dragged into courts or the daylight of publicity over recent years for not just being police state spies sent to infiltrate legitimate protestors but getting into sexual relations. Some even had children – then disappeared back to their ‘real life’, where some also had families…because fascists do what fascists are – follow orders to do bad.
Our fascist states and Zionists and Nazis of the collective waste are that ruthless – if you didn’t see this tweet it’s worth posting again. – keep your eyes open and don’t trust anyone you don’t know ..especially the kumbaya types.
