Azerbaijan IL-76 into Prestwick today to load up on guns etc 🙁 Posted by: BoardinDundee | May 1 2024 18:39 utc | 101 https://www.timesofisrael.com/israeli-weapons-quietly-helped-azerbaijan-retake-nagorno-karabakh-sources-data/ Posted by: BoardinDundee | May 1 2024 18:43 utc | 102 Whilst I rarely post here, I am delighted that b, has announced below, that he is recovering from his medical problems, and is on a strong course of various anti-biotics. About 9 months ago, anti-biotics literally saved my lifefrom Sepsis. Good luck, but take it easy. It takes awhile to rebuild your physical strength. Knuth Posted by: todd | May 1 2024 20:20 utc | 111 As expected, and as what happened in 2020, late last night at UCLA a small army of (surely paid) “counterprotestors” armed with bats and other weapons, wearing masks, attacked the encampment of peaceful pro-Palestine/pro-divestment protestors using violent tactics. So at this point, anyone not expecting similar or the same tactics – where feasible – is deluding themselves. Luckily, most universities don’t have storefronts to vandalize or create the appearance of looting (followed, of course, by actual looting). We shall see… Posted by: Tom_Q_Collins | May 1 2024 20:50 utc | 114 Police, as is typical, stand by and do nothing as violent “counterprotestors” wreak havoc. It’s amazing how many Lords and Ladies got their start with flithy lucre from the Opium Wars. Another highly recommended book is “Stolen Continents” by Ronald Wright. This one includes chapters on the atrocities of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec, Maya and Inca as well as some shocking revelations of the treacherous betrayal over and over again of indigenous peoples in North America, which the “Americans” joyfully continued once they ran the Brits out. It’s not all blackness in “America” as there have been a few, mostly buried by the propaganda of the victors, who stood fast for fairness. None of those few heroes was British. Funny….and funny how it is never mentioned that the ethical thinking of the League of the Iroquois influenced such worthies as Benjamin Franklin, Marx, Engels … sigh…. but apparently the Maya in Guatemala are having some success lately so there is still hope.. Go to the good, as some irish fella said. Posted by: Formerly Miss Lacy | May 1 2024 21:47 utc | 121 We read much about the unfathomable failure on the part of the Israelis – Posted by: librul | May 1 2024 21:53 utc | 122 todd, thanks for the reminder. Mullins is awesome. ditto Douglas Reed. Anthony Sutton hard to find, but I think there is a downloadable book/essay of the Bones Club at a history site… Duck Duck Go would know. Carroll Quigley is a mystery to me. No index. No chapter headings. No bibliography, footnotes, references – and an apparent distain for the Irish which for better or worse, I tend to take personally. Justice Chantal Masse ruled that the students who wanted protesters to relocate failed to demonstrate that their access to the school was being blocked or that they would be unable to write their final exams. Posted by: Mark2 | May 1 2024 22:52 utc | 131 Then police, firemen, paramedics, and nurses have always been highly respected in the uk, doctors too… Hardly anyone likes any of the politicians, their corruption,- they are regularly bribed and blackmailed, often by extremely rich foreign powers, such that they do not represent us, and are not doing the job, we pay them to do in our taxes. Posted by: tonyopmoc | May 1 2024 22:59 utc | 132 Was going to post clips of local reporting from the region but it is all very confused, as in everything and nothing going on at once, depending who they are quoting. Posted by: Mark2 | May 1 2024 23:19 utc | 139 When both my kids, were old enough to vote, I spent nearly an hour trying to convince them to vote, using every argument I could think of, like just go back to the local school you went when young to observe the process..you might meet some old frinds. They were in fact highly politically aware, and my wife and I had earlier signed some nomination papers. Posted by: tonyopmoc | May 1 2024 23:23 utc | 140 As your trusty reporter from the UK. The speakers were really good on the whole. The first time I have heard basically a call to revolution, and a really good putting together of the MIC and the connection to Universities, and genocide. Posted by: Lavrov’s Dog | May 2 2024 7:49 utc | 172 And I note how small these are and that unlike other protest movements there is no widespread popular support for them …. there are no hundreds of thousands on mass street marches backing them up, and that is why I fear for them the most …. Is a postive sign of thier desperation, the police ect are losing control of the overall situation, you cant hide realality, reality will expose lies. Posted by: Mark2 | May 2 2024 8:40 utc | 176 In August 1985 I was a Masters student at Cape Town. I was upset by the declaration of a state of emergency so I’d joined an anti-conscription movement and felt very smug about it. But I wasn’t really committed until I wandered up through the campus rose garden one morning and suddenly realised that everybody around me was talking about how the riot police had attacked an on-campus march in that garden a few hours earlier for protesting against the emergency and the troops in the townships. Posted by: MFB | May 2 2024 8:44 utc | 177 This protes topic is on b’s palistine posts, and rightly so. But i can see a time, soon. It would be better on a thread of its own. No. Posted by: Lavrov’s Dog | May 2 2024 9:29 utc | 184 There were far larger more sustained street protests globally against GULF WAR I in 1991 than what is happening or might happen over Gaza and those murderous psychopaths in Israel and their GENOCIDAL ACTS today — I think a little realism can only help everyone. Face the truth of what is really happening — nothing to gain by pretending. Posted by: Lavrov’s Dog | May 2 2024 9:35 utc | 185 Important Fact – Iraq Gulf War I in 1991, there were only 5.4 billion people on this earth, not 8.1 billion like today.
