thanks for that link. This was the next article linked at the bottom, recommending Russia’s geopolitical strategy for next couple of decades, also interesting.
https://eng.globalaffairs.ru/articles/an-age-of-wars-what-is-to-be-done/

[Intro:]
Foreign Policy
The extremely dangerous world of the next two decades requires that Russia adjust its foreign and defense policy. I have already written that this policy should be based on the “Fortress Russia” concept: maximum possible sovereignty, independence, autonomy, and security, with a focus on intensive internal development (Karaganov, 2022). (But certainly not autarky, which is deadly.) Russia must be intelligently open to beneficial economic, scientific, cultural, and informational cooperation with friendly countries of the World Majority. However, openness is not an end in itself, but rather a means to ensure internal material and spiritual development. As we have already seen, liberal-globalist openness is also deadly. It would be stupid to try to integrate into “international value chains” now that the creators of the former system of globalization are destroying it and militarizing economic ties. Interdependence, previously overestimated as a source of peace, is now largely dangerous. We must try to create “value chains” on our own territory in order to increase its connectedness. This especially applies to the connections of Russia’s core to Siberia and—more carefully—to friendly states, most prominently Belarus, most of Central Asia, China, Mongolia, and the rest of the SCO and BRICS.
The “Fortress Russia” policy demands that Russia minimize its entanglement in the conflicts that will flare up during the ongoing “geostrategic earthquake.” Under the new conditions, direct involvement is not an asset, but a liability, as the former colonial powers are beginning to experience. The U.S., especially, faces an upsurge of anti-Americanism and attacks on its bases. These and other overseas holdings will become increasingly vulnerable, which we should indirectly facilitate, thus raising the cost for the American empire and helping the American foreign policy class to recover from its globalist hegemonic disease of the postwar period, and especially of the last 30 years. We were wise enough not to get entangled in the newest Armenian-Azerbaijani and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts. But we should not by any means repeat the Ukrainian failure, permitting anti-Russian elites to take power in neighboring countries or allowing those countries to be destabilized from outside. Kazakhstan is of greatest concern in this regard. We need to work proactively, together with other, friendly countries.

And another one from a week ago

https://eng.globalaffairs.ru/articles/nuclear-reminder/
03.04.2024
It’s Time for Russia to Give the West a Nuclear Reminder

Strengthening nuclear deterrence could be the solution to the real problem of restoring strategic stability, which has been seriously disrupted by the ongoing and escalating conflict. To begin with, it is worth rethinking the concept of deterrence and, in the process, changing its name.
For example, instead of a passive, we should talk about an active form. The adversary should not remain in a state of comfort, believing that the war he is waging with the help of another country will not affect him in any way. In other words, it is necessary to put fear back into the minds and hearts of the enemy’s leaders. The beneficial sort of fear, it’s worth stressing.
It must also be recognized that the limits of purely verbal intervention have been exhausted at this stage of the Ukrainian conflict. Channels of communication all the way to the top must remain open around the clock, but the most important messages at this stage must be sent through concrete steps: doctrinal changes; military exercises to test them; underwater and aerial patrols along the coasts of the likely enemy; warnings about preparations for nuclear tests and the tests themselves; the imposition of no-fly zones over part of the Black Sea, and so on. The point of these actions is not only to demonstrate determination and readiness to use available capabilities to protect Russia’s vital interests, but –most importantly– to bring the enemy to a halt and encourage it to engage in serious dialogue.
The escalation ladder does not end here. Military-technical steps can be followed by real acts, warnings of which have already been given: for example, attacks on air bases and supply centers on the territory of NATO countries, and so on. There is no need to go further. We simply need to understand, and help the enemy to understand, that strategic stability in the real, not narrow, technical sense of the word is not compatible with armed conflict between nuclear powers, even if (for the time being) it is being waged indirectly.

I must strenuously suggest reading this excellent article compiled by the writer named Simplicius, who doesn’t usually write on this topical area, “Yellen Dispatched to Beg China for Face-Saving Slowdown,” https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/yellen-dispatched-to-beg-china-for

Posted by: karlof1 | Apr 9 2024 22:04 utc | 204

@ karlof1 | Apr 9 2024 22:04 utc | 204 with the Simplicius link about Yellen…thanks
I don’t read Simplicius but read it because of your suggestion and Yellen in the title.
I was impressed and may have to add him to my list of places to visit but am overwhelmed already.
It is good to read others saying what you and I have been talking about for years….China has banking as a public utility and that conflicts with the God Of Mammon cult approach which leads us to the civilization war we are in.
Hopefully all will get on the same page about this situation and when the bully of global private finance is neutered by the China/Russia axis, we can take back our countries and return their purpose more to the E Pluribus Unum original motto of America.

Thanks for your reply. Simplicius generally doesn’t write on that topic, and I have no idea what spurred him go do so this time. I left a short comment, number 399 or so. He does have a large following–over 20,000 subscribers–so many new people will be exposed to the facts he provided. I left a note for Dr. Hudson’s information; hopefully, he’ll provide a comment related to it. I return home tomorrow. Best!

@karlof1, #204:
Thanks for the Simplicius article link. I agree with psychohistorian (#205) that, while not having read him before, this article struck me as being excellent.
The Marx-Lenin script for Communism is: Revolution->Socialism->Communism. China seems to be aiming towards Communism now, at least in regard to the financial sector of the economy, based on what Simplicius is saying, a move you and psycho have tirelessly promoted at MoA for as long as I’ve been reading here. Many barflies here have actually accuse China of selling out on Socialism/Communism. No siree! China is true to its ideal.
China has time and again called its own politics as Socialism with a Chinese Twist, emphasizing that each nation must shape its own socialistic system based on national characteristics and historic realities but Socialism is truly the one system that promises to benefit the widest spread of one’s citizenry. Xi/Li mandate on financial reform is clearly pushing China’s financial sector towards a form of socialism with a Chinese Twist. I also agree with Simplicius that what China is doing may become the template that many other Global South nations would borrow from for their own financial stability.

All that matters really is that a government is of the people and for the people. An economy is like a balanced diet, the right mix of private enterprise and government control/socialism, the mix depending on the culture, but always the government must remain in control and governing for the people, not the sponsors, not the corporations.
I guess I look at everything between early ideological communism and Americanized privatization as socialism to larger or lesser degree.

Reuters has a posting up describing the latest cheap shot at China
Fitch cut its outlook on China’s sovereign credit rating to negative on Wednesday, citing risks to public finances as the economy faces increasing uncertainty in its shift to new growth models.
China’s response as reported by Xinhuanet

BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) — China’s Ministry of Finance said Wednesday that it is regrettable to see Fitch Ratings’ move to downgrade the country’s sovereign credit rating outlook.
Fitch’s rating system has failed to effectively reflect the positive effects of China’s fiscal policies on boosting economic growth and stabilizing the macro leverage ratio in a forward-looking manner, the ministry said in a statement.

And data from an earlier Xinhuanet posting

China’s retail sales of consumer goods rose by 5.5 percent year on year in the first two months of 2024, picking up from an increase of 3.5 percent in the same period of 2023.
Fixed-asset investment also saw a notable uptick, growing by 4.2 percent year on year, quickening from the 3 percent increase in 2023. Furthermore, value-added industrial output rose 7 percent year on year during the January-February period, accelerating from the rise of 6.8 percent registered in December 2023.

Where is the increased uncertainty that Fitch is alluding to?

The controlled western media have erected a fence around a golden billion of sheeple, declared outside a jungle, and all those who don’t confirm to the official narrative crazy and worse – infectious even. “Don’t go with the alu cap people, you may never return!” and that is indeed true. I have yet to meet a person who became an adherent to the official 9/11 narrative after having been a truther before, for instance; though it seems to be occassionally happening to journalists. The mind control technique playing on our human desire to belong is perfidious and effective.
But it seems that our overlords have bet their whole Paradise™ Farm on control of the media.
It just occured to me that this resemebles the situation in Rome during times of empire. The Romans were wondering if they should make their slaves wear a badge of ownership in public, but then decided against it, for fear that the slaves might realize how many they are.
Since the red pill usually has irreversible effect, the foundation of power should gradually erode. Blunders from their side hasten the process, while the alu cap crowd is almost ironclad in their determination.
The thought was actually pointed out somewhere on MoA before sometime this week, but I felt like adding to and restating it here, because it appears quite important.

Its the ‘uncertainty’ that NATO is going to lose in the SMO-so Fitch , undoubtedly directed by the Empire, doubles down one more time…

Norman Finklestein has explained the ramifications of what Nat Turner and John Brown did prior to the US Civil War. I think he’s right. “John Brown’s body lies a-moldering in the grave.” became the Union soldiers’ marching song just a year or so after JB was executed, “But his soul goes marching on!”
Posted by: waynorinorway | Apr 8 2024 8:04 utc | 114
———–
I think the song actually went “But his truth goes marching on!” This song was full on Brownian anti-slavery sentiment, so much so that the Union oligarchs decided it had to be replaced. That’s why Julia Ward Howe wrote “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” which used the same tune as “John Brown’s Body” but changed all the words to eliminate all reference to John Brown and slavery.
