The real reason Israel stormed al-Shifa Hospital yet again

In the past two days, a number of things happened that seemingly had nothing to do with each other. … on Monday, the Israeli army stormed al-Shifa hospital … killing and injuring dozens … the day before, 13 aid trucks arrived in northern Gaza for the first time in four months … People flocking to the UNRWA warehouse … stood in uncharacteristically orderly lines and patiently waited for the handouts … Many could be seen cheering once the aid arrived …
But what few people know is that this successful delivery of sorely needed food aid to northern Gaza is what led the Israeli army to launch its deadly raid on al-Shifa Hospital the next day.
The connection between these two events can only be explained by understanding who Israel was targeting in the raid — the now-martyred Faiq Mabhouh. Mabhouh was the Director of Operations of the Gaza police force, a part of the Gaza government’s civilian administration. Unlike Hamas’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, Mabhouh did not operate clandestinely at the start of the war, because he didn’t have to — he was in charge of civil law enforcement. Hamas released a statement after his death confirming that he “engaged in purely civil and humanitarian activity.” 
But the true significance of the attack lies not in its desire to empty northern Gaza’s largest civilian refuge, which houses 30,000 people, but in foiling Faiq Mabhouh’s pivotal role in coordinating the delivery of humanitarian aid to starving civilians in Gaza while restoring a semblance of social order to the north.

Further to your point regarding the misrepresentation of Mabhouh, I read articles in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times of Israel and others, and all list him as a Hamas official coordinating attacks against Israel. What is noticeable and has always been so is how many articles are simply a cut and paste job lifted from an IDF statement. No attempt at investigative or informational journalism.

Kastner knew well, as he himself testified, that Becher had never stood up against the stream of Jewish extermination, as Kastner has declared in the affidavit. The aims of Becher and his superior, Himmler, were not to save Jews but to serve the Nazi regime with full compliance.
These is not truth and no good faith in Kastner’s testimony, ‘I never doubted for one moment the good intention of good Becher’. To me the greatest contrast in Palestine, for many years now, is that the Israelis truly despise and hate the Palestinians, whereas the latter continue to demonstrate great humanness and patience. Although abused and suffering greatly, they are still very much in the Human Realm. No doubt some succumb to hatred, but by and large it seems not.
Perhaps this further inflames Israeli hatred as some part of their soul knows they have lost the moral high ground long, long ago. As Mercouris says about the neocons: ‘they have no reverse gear’.
Meanwhile, Hell has many chambers, each one lower and hotter than the other.

I can assure you that Borrell did not suddenly come to this conclusion by himself. He was ordered, like Senator Schumer to start flapping his mouth from orders from the oligarch network centered in Washington that the bad publicity of the US/EU complicity in the obvious ongoing horror show is harming the Empire. This does two things, it “absolves” the Empire’s complicity and is encouraging the IDF to get on with it–if they want to wipe out the Gazans they have to get on with it. The IDF has been shown to be less than competent in their “war” on Hamas. This slowness in the massacres is annoying to the Empire because this slow movement of the IDF is allowing a resistance axis to organize and grow as popular opinion in Saudi, Turkey, and Egypt may force leaders to “do something.” This axis of resistance will take a year or so to grow some teeth so time is limited.
