War On UN - West Retaliates Against ICJ Order By Defunding Humanitarian Mission For Palestine

This morning I read through a rather a grotesque Twitter timeline (here sorted to tell the story):

Ali Abunimah @AliAbunimah - 22:09 UTC · Jan 26, 2024

A “ceasefire” is what you demand in an armed conflict. In a genocide you demand an immediate end to all genocidal acts and that is exactly what the ICJ ordered with immediate effect. Please stop helping “Israel” spin its historic defeat as a win.

---
Scholars of Genocide Expert Group @GenocideExperts - 00:45 UTC · Jan 27, 2024

Today's ICJ ruling embodies a historical and watershed moment. It is a vindication of what Palestinians, international law scholars, and genocide experts have been insisting upon for months; Israel's conduct against Palestinians is blatantly genocidal and must be stopped.
...
This ruling triggers third state obligations to prevent the commission of genocidal acts. @POTUS and others are now on further notice that their arming of the Israeli military could lead to legal complicity in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians.

---
Lord Bebo @MyLordBebo - 21:44 UTC · Jan 26, 2024

🇮🇱🇿🇦‼️🚨 30 DAYS: ICJ WHAT’S NEXT?

Israel has 30 days to ensure compliance with all ICJ orders, like restoring the humanitarian situation.
Should Israel fail to comply, South Africa will go the UN Security Council for enforcement and suggest a ceasefire resolution.
The ICJ is part of the UN ecosystem and its orders are bound by international law.

Now, the US would be under immense pressure to grant this resolution since it’s essentially there to enforce international law.
Would the US or UK veto the ceasefire resolution which is proposed to enforce international law, they would finally and undeniably destroy their standing as “moral guardians”.

🇺🇳 Now, in this scenario it could be referred back to the general assembly, where the UN starts creating mandatory orders for enforcement, like sanctions on Israel.

UNRWA was founded bc the UN condition to recognise “Israel” after 1948 was to let Palestinian refugees return to Palestine. “Israel” refused. So the world funded “relief & work for refugees.” This money is not gratitude, but compensation owed by the West to Palestinians.

Israel's smears of UNRWA followed ICJ's Jan 26 ruling which stated "The Court also refers to the statement by the UNRWA Commissioner-General that the crisis in Gaza is “compounded by dehumanizing language”. It calls attention, in particular, to the following examples: statements made by Mr Yoav Gallant, Defence Minister of Israel, on 9 and 10 October 2023, by Mr Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, on 12 October 2023, and by Mr Israel Katz, then Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of Israel, on 13 October 2023." Israel wanted to get even with UNRWA and harm Palestinians, who depend on UNRWA for assistance.

Shamefully, the United States, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Netherlands and Italy joined in smearing UNRWA and cutting off support to the agency and thus to Palestinians.

The only evidence of complicity of UNRWA staff with Hamas that I could find at the BBC site was the accusation by Israel that an ex-hostage claims to have been held in the house of an UNRWA worker. How did they know? Since 80% of dwellings have been destroyed & their owners displaced, what does it even mean?

All I see in news reports is evidence of complicity of Western media with genocide.

Posted by: geoff chambers | Jan 28 2024 8:39 utc | 4

Mouin Rabbini had it right, I thought, when he said that UNWRA made a big mistake in effectively admitting UNWRA's guilt by sacking the 11 (?) workers. After all the accusation is only an allegation by Israel based on information extracted by torture, which is legal in Israel.

It is deeply scandalous that nine western countries are joining Israel's attempt to genocide the Palestinians - nine states whose morals are so lax that they will give in to political pressure to join in with the extermination. In the case of Britain, it's possible to see how it happened: the PM Rishi Sunak simply has no idea of the moral meaning of what he does, coming from an uber-rich environment, never having been in contact with what most Brits think.

Israel attacks Palestinians even more so by providing "evidence" to UNWRA so their funding is removed from USA Canada UK....so now this money maybe can be used diverted to support Isr. in what it decides and controls -perhapswith this money eg the new buffer zone...security fencing . controlled enrances to west bank ..Israel etc.

What could the "evdence" be...how obtained...maybe UNWRA people just assisting families eg food...medical......not possible to discern civilians from alledged Hamas.. naybe detainees have been tortured to reveal falsely Hamas peoples...maybe Usr. claims UNWRA take refuge in tunnels that Isr. itself may have built.......

To see the leading "democracy" "champions of freedom" nations defund UNRWA was despicable. Throwing out the whole due process of law, ie Israel's allegations have not been tested before any courts or even verified by third parties. They are just confessions gleaned from dubious, as politely as I can say , means. Tortured , which are null and void when the. Amount of deaths while in custody and evidence of beatings is shown by released prisoners. For the west to jump on this you know there won't be justice or even an end to the genocide. It will have

Some common sense from the Irish:

Ireland on Saturday voiced support for investigating Israeli allegations, but said it will not pause funding for the agency’s Gaza work.

(...) [Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin] said that the UN agency for Palestinian refugees provided life-saving assistance to 2.3 million people and at incredible personal cost – with over 100 staff killed in the last four months.
“Ireland has no plans to suspend funding for UNRWA’s vital Gaza work,” underlined Martin.

Ireland, he said, provided the UNRWA €18 million ($19.5 million) in 2023 and will continue its support in 2024.

According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Israel is legally obligated to use the proceeds of guaranteed loans for refinancing its government debt and also has agreed that proceeds shall not be used for military purposes or to support activities in areas outside its pre-June 5, 1967, areas of control. However, U.S. officials in 2009 noted that because Israel’s national budget is fungible, proceeds from the issuance of U.S.-guaranteed debt that are used to refinance Israeli government debt free up domestic Israeli funds for other uses.

As of 2023, Israel had issued $4.1 billion in U.S.-backed bonds. After deducting the amounts
mentioned above, Israel might still be authorized to issue up to $3.814 billion in U.S.-backed
bonds. However, if the Israeli government sought to issue new U.S.-backed bonds, it is unclear
whether the loan guarantees available to Israel might be subject to reduction based on Israel’s
estimated cumulative subsequent expenditures for settlements in the West Bank. The original loan guarantee program authorization for Israel was through FY2005. Since then, Congress has extended the program six times. The program is currently authorized through the end of
FY2028.

Draft Indictment for Complicity of U.K. government in Violations of International Humanitarian Law

Prepared By: UK Citizen Alliance

Date: 28 January 2024

Introduction

This indictment is prepared against Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary David Cameron, and Defence Minister Grant Shapps of the United Kingdom (hereafter referred to as "the Defendants") for their roles in the continued authorisation and oversight of arms exports to the Government of Israel, in light of substantial concerns over violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

Background

Amidst the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, significant evidence has emerged suggesting potential IHL violations by Israel. The UK government, under the guidance of the Defendants, has continued to export military equipment to Israel, raising serious concerns about complicity in these potential violations, especially in the context of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) 26January 2024 ruling in the case of South Africa v. Israel https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20240126-pre-01-00-en.pdf.

Charges

1. Failure to Uphold International Humanitarian Law Obligations: Despite evidence suggesting potential IHL violations by Israel, the Defendants have continued arms exports, contravening the UK’s obligations under international law, particularly in the light of the ICJ's findings.

2. Violation of International Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and Strategic Export Licensing Criteria (SELC): The Defendants have continued arms exports to Israel, violating the ATT and SELC, especially given the clear risks that these arms might be used in serious IHL violations.

Evidence

1. Documentation of Arms Sales: Detailed records of military exports from the UK to Israel, including the transfer of components used in F-35 stealth bomber aircraft and other military equipment since 2015, totaling at least £474 million.

2. Human Rights Watch and Civil Society Reports: Statements and findings from Human Rights Watch and other organisations, emphasizing the clear risk associated with UK arms transfers to Israel, and the potential for these arms to be used in serious violations of international law, including war crimes.

3. Historical Context and Precedents: Reference to the UK Government's past admissions regarding the use of British-supplied components in hostilities in Gaza, and the suspension of arms licenses during previous conflicts as indicative of acknowledged risks.

4. Impact on Civilians and Allegations of War Crimes: Reports and statistics detailing civilian casualties, use of prohibited munitions, and the imposition of blockades on Gaza, raising concerns of potential war crimes facilitated by arms supplied by the UK. As detailed in South Africa v. Israel, International Court of Justice, Order 26 January 2024.

5. Government Review Documentation (AC-2023-LON-003634 https://www.glanlaw.org/_files/ugd/26e1a5_14f16c2640e24bc99211ee41243e9c45.pdf): Evidence that the UK government conducted a review of arms exports to Israel, acknowledging potential IHL violations, yet did not suspend sales (Reference: Summary Grounds of the Secretary of State, Page 17).

6. Foreign Office Internal Communications (10th November 2023 Assessment): Records indicating "serious concerns" over Israel's IHL breaches and its interpretation of IHL obligations (Reference: MENAD's IHLCAP Assessment, 10th November 2023).

7. Parliamentary Inquiry and Statements (Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing, 14:52-15:10 timestamp): Analysis contrasting Foreign Secretary David Cameron's public reassurances about Israel’s compliance with IHL against internal Foreign Office concerns.

8. Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) Advisory (8th December 2023 Communication): Details from ECJU's communication to Cameron, outlining options for arms exports, with Cameron's decision favoring continued exports despite acknowledged risks (Reference: ECJU Communication to Cameron, 8th December 2023).

Legal Basis

1. International Humanitarian Law and ATT Violations: Based on the Defendants' decisions and internal government assessments, allegations of breaching international obligations under the ATT, particularly Articles 6 and 7, as well as SELC criteria.

2. Complicity in Potential War Crimes: Allegations based on continued arms exports to Israel, potentially facilitating actions in Gaza that may amount to war crimes, in violation of IHL.

Requested Actions

1. Cessation of Arms Exports: Demand for an immediate halt to all arms exports to Israel.

2. Legal Accountability: Seeking legal proceedings against the Defendants for their alleged roles in these violations.

3. Policy Review and Reforms: Call for an urgent and comprehensive review and reform of the UK's arms export policies in compliance with international obligations.

Conclusion

This indictment seeks to address the complicity of the Defendants in facilitating violations of IHL through continued arms exports to Israel, despite substantial internal and external evidence suggesting significant risks and potential violations.

Worse than this act against UNRWA will happen before the liberation.

Here's a template letter that constituents can use to address their concerns to their elected representatives regarding the UK government's assistance to the Israeli government.

[Your Name]
[Your Address]
[City, Postcode]
[Your Email]
[Date]

[Name of Your Elected Representative]
[Representative's Address]
[City, Postcode]

Dear [Representative's Name],

I am writing to you as a concerned constituent from [Your Constituency] regarding the United Kingdom's continued arms exports to Israel. Recent developments and revelations, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, have raised serious concerns about the implications of these actions under International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

The International Court of Justice, in the case of South Africa v. Israel (https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20240126-pre-01-00-en.pdf), has highlighted violations by Israel of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in relation to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Despite this, reports and internal government communications have revealed that the UK government has continued to export military equipment to Israel and continued to take military action against AnsarAllah (“Houthis”) in Yemen, whose own actions are justified by them, citing their obligation to prevent genocidal acts under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The ongoing illegal actions of the U.K. government not only raises ethical concerns but also places the UK at risk of complicity in IHL violations and war crimes.

The UK government's own review, as reported in case number AC-2023-LON-003634 (https://www.glanlaw.org/_files/ugd/26e1a5_14f16c2640e24bc99211ee41243e9c45.pdf), acknowledges IHL violations by Israel. Furthermore, internal communications within the Foreign Office, as well as statements made during parliamentary inquiries, suggest a troubling discrepancy between public reassurances and private concerns regarding Israel’s adherence to IHL. The decisions by key figures, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary David Cameron, and Defence Minister Grant Shapps, to continue these exports, despite these concerns, are particularly alarming.

As my representative, I urge you to take a stand on this critical issue. Our nation's commitment to international law and human rights must be upheld, and actions that contravene these principles should be scrutinised and re-evaluated. I request that you:

1. Raise this issue in Parliament and call for an immediate review of the UK's arms export policy to Israel.
2. Support measures that ensure the UK's foreign policy and trade practices align with international legal obligations and human rights standards.
3. Advocate for transparency in the UK government's decision-making process regarding arms exports, particularly in contexts where there is a risk of human rights violations.
4. Avoid an escalation of violence and military action either directly or via proxies, by restoring diplomatic and peaceful means of conflict resolution.

The UK has a responsibility to ensure that its actions on the international stage reflect its commitment to upholding human rights and international law. The continuing export of arms to a nation accused of serious violations undermines this commitment and our standing in the global community.

I trust that you will give this matter the attention it deserves and look forward to your response outlining the actions you intend to take.

Yours sincerely,

[Your Name]

For a time, it appeared the current Australian Labor Government was reluctant about the war on Palestine and the war on Russia, also the build up to war with China - making a few token efforts to appease the masters in London and Washington. With this, Australia has crossed the rubicon and is now publicly complicit in a very public genocide.

2024/25 - this is now like a great geo-political boil or abscess on the point of bursting. Not going to be good for the Anglo saxon countries and their accomplices.
Israel and Nazi Ukraine, birds of a feather, Putin giving speeches about WWII nazism (Ukraine) plus the siege of Leningrad (Israel).

Reading the European Commission’s statement on the occasion of the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, we found a mistake. It would be great if @EU_Commission corrects it. It was the Red Army who liberated the concentration and death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau, not the Allied Forces.

Clearly the text of EU Commission is intentionally imprecise, by saying 'Allied Forces', instead of 'Red Army', but it is not an error, because the Red Arnmy was part of the Allied Forces.

Israel kills 152 UNRWA workers in Gaza, the highest death toll among UN staffers ever, the US and UK don’t even blink.

The ICJ accuses Israel of committing potential genocide in Gaza, the US and UK respond by cutting funding to the UNRWA organisation, which saves lives in Gaza.

This is more stupidity than evil. Western aparatchniks cut the funding to UNRWA based on previous accusations, not the ICJ interim ruling, but they timed their reaction to coincide with the ICJ interim ruling to try to diminish the impact of the ruling.

Essentially, these gang of morons (United States, Germany, Canada, UK, Australia, Italy, Canada, Finland, and the Netherlands) are sacrificing what little is left of Weastern standing in the world to defend genocidal Israel.

The ICJ Jan 26 order conceding Israel’s “plausible genocide” and accepting South Africa’s case cites several UN agencies including UNRWA.

“plight of children in Gaza is especially heartbreaking etc etc….” (UNRWA, “The Gaza Strip: 100 days of death, destruction and displacement”, Statement by Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, 13 Jan. 2024.)

The order refers several times to UNRWA's description of the humanitarian catastrophe.

UNRWA has been an Israeli target for a long time. It was the only UN agency cited by ICJ whose work is exclusive to Palestine and whose member state funding can be most easily cut off.

The story was fed to MSM based on allegations by the Israeli Torture Services (Shin Bet) exactly at the minute it became clear the ICJ was not going to throw the case out. I think Israel is so delusional it had hoped this would be a possibility.

The evidence was provided to UNRWA by intelligence agencies (the mossad).

The nature of the "evidence" is classified.

I suspect the "evidence" comprises fat brown envelopes of pictures of the children and other family members of every single western leader and official involved in UNRWA with a cross-hair inked over their heads in bright red.

Who needs "evidence" if they have "leverage"?.

Ahh I forced myself to watch some sky news on the subject .
Apparently there was workers like teachers they said posted on social media they welcomed Oct 7 jailbreak.
Then there was confessions that 7 UNRWA workers were fighters that participated on Oct 7 .

Then it trails off into stealing money refusing to just push the refugees out of the camps and move them onto a new life .
I posted some links a day or so ago. Search " Israel must destroy UNRWA" and several articles come up of knesset speeches about how UNRWA stands in the way of ethnic cleansing and genocide by supporting palestinians and documenting atrocities.

Here is my verdict ;) on the ICJ order:

Positives:
1. A historic and symbolic win for South Africa based on their stellar courageous work.
2. A legal tool for pro-justice civil society around the world to take actions.
3. “A small crack in Israeli impunity” (Craig Mohkiber). To be used by civil society to shatter the impunity. The ball is now in the court of the public because that’s whom the ICJ lobbed it to.

Negatives:
1. Weak ass ruling showing the ICJ’s irrelevance by denying RSA the first request that has been issued quickly in the past: order IOF to halt all military actions hasta pronto.

2. Death sentence continues for Gaza by denying South Africa the first request.

3. RSA asked for Israel to report back in a week (request #8). ICJ gave Israel a month.

4. RSA had requested #7 the State of Israel shall not act to deny or otherwise restrict access by fact-finding missions, international mandates and other bodies to Gaza to assist in ensuring the preservation and retention of said evidence. ICJ deleted this clause.

5. Did not grant RSA request #9: Israel shall refrain from any action and shall ensure that no action is taken which might aggravate or extend the dispute before the Court or make it more difficult to resolve. The attack on UNRWA, discrediting a key witness is exactly this.

It is an IRRELEVANT FACT that the ICJ has no enforcement power. Had Israel violated an explicit ICJ order, it would increase the chance of finding Israel guilty as the case progresses. It would have provided strong legal ammunition to protect Palestine by halting arms shipments if Israel violated the order. The ICJ had one job to do and it did not do it.

I consider Ali Abunimah and his team at Electronic Intifada (livestreams and site) to be the best single site on Palestine. Anyone who sincerely seeks justice for Palestine must focus on the positives of the ruling because the battle is also psychological. I take no issue with Abunimah etc. describing the order to the public as they see fit. I also see why they MUST NOT slam the ICJ from their own platforms especially if they have a big platform.

However legal experts and “third party neutrals” need to stop making excuses for the ICJ.

The most recent dispute under the Genocide Convention was Ukraine’s 25 Feb request to ICJ only 24 hours after the Russian SMO started: The Russian Federation shall immediately suspend the military operations commenced on 24 February 2022 that have as their stated purpose and objective the prevention and punishment of a claimed genocide in the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts of Ukraine.

In 19 days, on March 16, 2022, ICJ stated, “The Russian Federation shall immediately suspend the military operations that it commenced on 24 February 2022 in the territory of Ukraine”.

In justifying itself, ICJ stated, “Court takes note of resolution A/RES/ES-11/1 of 2 March 2022, of UNGA which inter alia, “[e]xpress[es] grave concern at reports of attacks on civilian facilities such as residences, schools and hospitals, and of civilian casualties…, “[r]ecogniz[es] that the military operations of the Russian Federation inside the sovereign territory of Ukraine are on a scale that the international community has not seen in Europe in decades and that urgent action is needed to save this generation from the scourge of war”, “[c]ondemn[s] the decision of the Russian Federation to increase the readiness of its nuclear forces” and “[e]xpress[es] grave concern at the deteriorating humanitarian situation in and around Ukraine, with an increasing number of internally displaced persons and refugees in need of humanitarian assistance”.

Of course there are differences in the legal arguments between Ukraine v Russia and South Africa v Israel. That is IRRELEVANT. The arraignment is not to evaluate the merits in either case but only to decide if case will proceed and how to protect irreparable harms in the meantime.

In 19 days, the ICJ decided to protect Ukrainians. For Palestinians it told Israel it was fine to kill, as long as Israel shows evidence of trying to prevent killing. This despite the fact Palestinian deaths, missing and injured amounted to over 95,000 by Jan 26.

ICJ: Israel must “take all measures within its power to prevent the commission of all acts within the scope of Article II of this Convention, in particular: (a) killing members of the group;”

Israel can easily claim it took measures within its power and regrets killing only 200 / day for the next 30 days.

Exactly. The ICJ ruling is nothing more than a license to commit genocide more politely and sustainably.

It is a defeat of Mankind, not a victory.

I am willing to be proven wrong if and only if the following chain of events unfold over the next week or two:

1. Submission of a resolution for an "effective" cease-fire to the UNSC.
2. Veto of the resolution by The Usual Suspects
3. Resolution is brought before the G.A
4. Resolution is approved by the G.A
5. The G.A assembles a genocide tribunal for trial of the Zionist Regime'
6. The Zionist Regime' is banned from the G.A
7. Majority of countries in the G.A institute immediate sanctions - total cessation of trade with the Zionist Regime.

This is the only path to salvation of the U.N system, it's courts, councils and charters.

The list of countries who have suspended funding of UNRWA anfter the ICJ sentence includes those who supported nazi Germany in its genocide against the peoples of Europe ( Jews, Communists, gypsies, whomever had a critical thinking, as it is the case repeating today in Europe in total impunity...) during WWII, and those who participated in the facilitation of evasion of nazi criminals to the US.

They are taking revenge and exerting presure on the UN because, in spite of the arduous intents on erasing historical memory through indoctrination in education and propaganda, still remains a generation in Europe who knows the facts of the past genocide, precisely those who were designed to be extermianted through "the pandemic" and post-pandemic measures....

They know these crimes, as collaborators in genocide and helping evasion of recognized genocides, do not prescribe, and try to bury the whole remaining UN system so that to avoid this legal precedent splashes them in a not so distant future.

These are the saem countries fully supporting and arming nazi Ukraine at the cost of empoverishing and misstreating their own taxpayers whom they squeeze to keep their nazi Ukrainian junta, already a failed terrorist state, on life supply for the benefit of their corporate and financial anglosaxon masters..

Europe is currently a nazi Reich, thus, what is to be surprised?

This was in the ye olden times of 2000, so it's probably illegible moonspeak to politician's aide interns today without memes and emojis. Ergo I add you may want to write it in cursive to put the fear in them of a displeased antediluvian vampire, or major charitable donor, as the difference is the same.

Posted by: Peter AU1 | Jan 28 2024 10:51 utc | 44

I have to go with Kaspar on this point.

The West's PR on this point are moored to a past way of describing reality that no longer exists. Twenty, thirty years ago with the West's total control of media (before the plethora of smart phones, as well) they could have disguised reality to the point that a PR such as this would come out basically unscathed; not today.

Now many young people in the West as well as the ROW can see this PR as nothing but a a sop to Israel and will, paradoxically, bring more people around to condemning the West supporting Israel's genocide which is a damning indictment of the leaders of the West further sinking the Anglo/Zionist ship.

Such that this suspending of aid to a people whom are sick, starving and dying is a stupid mistake that will just simply amplify the world's disgust with Western leaders..

And, in the long term, I believe the fellow Muslim states should do all the aid as then there would be no threatening of cutting the aid off as the West has just done when the going get tough.

The pre war era, the picture I see is all of Europe had fascist parties/groups political neutral/no opinion group and communists. Some places the fascists were most numerous, though no doubt as nazi Germany overrun Europe, numerous or not, local fascist would be installed in the Admin. But from what I can make out, WWII Finland was heavily pro nazi.

This is why they defunded UNRWA....

the reasons explained crystal clear by V.V.Putin in his speech in the ceremony for unveiling a memorial to the USSR civilians who fell victim of the Nazi genocide during the Great Patriotic War....

President Putin: January 27 is one of the most important dates in our shared national history. On this day in 1944, Red Army soldiers completely lifted the Siege of Leningrad. A year later, in 1945, they liberated Auschwitz (https://t.me/MFARussia/18865).

<...>

For eight decades now, our pain for the victims, for the shattered destinies, and for everyone who endured incredible ordeals has not subsided. Our compassion is passed on from generation to generation and has #NoStatuteOfLimitation, just like the crimes of Hitler’s fanatics and their accomplices, those who cold-bloodedly planned and cruelly carried out the genocide of the Soviet people.

🕯 The massacres of unarmed and defenceless elderly people, women, children, and disabled were deliberate, systemic punitive acts.

<...>

We are witnessing a disturbing trend where the outcomes of the Nuremberg trials, which unequivocally condemned Nazism, are being revised. Some countries not only rewrite history and exonerate the executioners: revanchists and neo-Nazis have embraced the Nazi ideology and methods.

• Tens of thousands of people in the Baltic states are labelled “subhuman,” stripped of basic rights and persecuted.

• The Kiev regime glorifies Hitler's followers and members of the SS and uses terror against dissenters. Barbaric shelling of peaceful cities and towns persists, and the killing of the elderly, women and children continues.

• Some European countries endorse Russophobia as a state policy.

❗️ We will do everything in our power to halt and eradicate Nazism.

The followers of Nazi executioners are doomed. Nothing can deter the desire of millions of people in Russia and across the planet for true freedom, justice, peace, and security.

Posted by: Michael A | Jan 28 2024 12:25 utc | 69

Yes I remember checking out the Encyclopedia Britannica a few years ago (the info has since disappeared)and it was a survey of how many Jews were living in Europe. In 1938 it was 15 MM and in 1948 it was perhaps 50,000 more.

Don't forget many Jews would have gone to Israel so how many Jews did die under the Nazis?

I would guess 300k to 500k and that most them died of disease and neglect , like every other nationality under the Nazi boot in concentration/labour camps .

In my opinion, few, if any, were gassed.

Perhaps, but I see the Woke younger people in North America (can't speak for Europe)seeing through the Western propaganda. So I would guess that the 'totalitarian west' controls maybe 70% of the narrative today.

Though , to your point, I would guess that the older population baby boomers etc. who control 95% of the wealth and senior government positions are still sucking up the propaganda at a 95% level which strengthens your argument.

On 4 January, a former Israeli official, Noga Arbell, called for the destruction of Unrwa during a discussion in the Israeli parliament.

Middle East Eye today has a video of Abell saying "It will be impossible to win the war if we do not destroy Unrwa, and this destruction must begin immediately"

Please watch to hear everything this woman had to say!

Confessions by Palestinians held in Israeli custody need to be treated with extreme suspicion. Even the Wikipedia article "Israeli torture in the occupied territories" shows evidence of brutal treatment that could result in the victims saying whatever it takes to make the torment stop.

She concluded torture was applied at three rising levels of maltreatment, (a) level one: daily beatings with fists and sticks; (b) level two: alternate immersions of the victim in hot and cold water, beating of genitals and interrogation about twice daily over several hours; (c) level three: rotating teams of interrogators working on a nude person under detention by applying electrical devices, high frequency sonic noise, refrigeration, prolonged hanging by the hands or feet, and inserting objects into their penises or rectums. This last level was used on those who refused at earlier levels to denounce other Palestinians.

I would imagine the levels have been cranked up a level or two after the October 6 Hamas actions.

The Implacable supremacists have NO reverse gear.

A zombie empire is crumbling like the putrid body it is.

The solution is simple - South Africa with a coalition of the willing , Malaysia, Indonesia… China! - puts a R2P military force on the ground in Gaza and westbank to insure that relief, food and medicine is delivered. They can take control of the policing and insure that no attacks will be launched on the khazars. Whilst making sure that they retreat back to their original mandate space.

Then the World can decide if that illegal colonial occupation can remain or like all such colonies is returned to its native populations .

The War Crimes Trial will be epic. Those who are convicted in absentia will be hunted for the rest of their lives. Sound familiar? The World will impose a solution to the benefit of the Palestinian people weather the Israeli people like it or not. Those who condoned this throughout the world will have to live in shame. You know who you are.

A “ceasefire” is what you demand in an armed conflict. In a genocide you demand an immediate end to all genocidal acts and that is exactly what the ICJ ordered with immediate effect. Please stop helping “Israel” spin its historic defeat as a win.

The War Crimes Trial will be epic

Indeed, the global constellation of forces has already changed. The Likud and Washington War Party just don’t know it yet.

FYI - War Crimes have no statute of limitations. Those perpetrators will have to lay low for decades., For example, a 96 year German woman was recently convicted of war crimes during 1944. Her crime ? Being a 18 year old typist in a typing pool at a German labor camp.

For a Typist in a War Party pool today who contributes to war crimes that would be akin to being caught, tried, and convicted in the year 2103.

On the day after the ICJ ruling, the main stories in the Canadian MSM on this and related issues (in this case, radio and TV - I can't be bothered with the print media):

- the UNWRA dog and pony show, and the "growing number of countries" cutting off financial support (of course)
- bunch of stuff about Holocaust remembrance events (always a staple, particularly since this war started)
- some vague stuff about a random "anti-semitic incident" in that hot bed of Jewish culture, New Brunswick
- and last and least, a pointed reminder that the ICJ ruling did not use the word "ceasefire"

That's life in this bastion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, where the exponents of Zionism are somehow always more "included" than others.

UNRWA was the hypocritical tribute paid by the forces which allowed the Nakba to occur-it might not have been livestreamed on the internet but all the Foreign Offices and Cabinets knew exactly was what was happening-the massacres, the burning of villages, the killing of women and children.
The least that they could do, having allowed the Palestinians to be driven out of their own lands by terrorists, was to fund some sort of relief orgabisation.
Hence UNRWA.
The decision to de-fund it is quite logical. The imperialists have stopped pretending to care- they helped keep the shreds of the Palestinian people together and all they got for it was a nation determined to survive. And ready to risk anything to do it.
The Empire does not like courageous people, resistance and sticklers for justice and fairness- everyone of those things is anathema to it.
It wants people to be like those in the metropolitan countries- indifferent to the suffering of others, apathetic in the face of loudmouthed liars, afraid to be singled out for telling truths or refusing to ignore the obvious.
"Why can't a Palestinian, be more like a Canadian or an American?"
Perhaps because it is their children being bombed, then having limbs amputated without anaesthetics. It is their homes being demolished, their families being wiped out. Their children starving from an Israel induced, American supported, famine. Their water filled with sewage. Their streets raging with disease.
We can see it on the livestream. But evidently we can't feel it.

It i high time now to abolish the mis-ue of the term "ANTI-SEMITTIC" about being against European and Iranian Jews.
Those Jews have for 2400 years been speakers of Persian, Ladina Spanish, Greek and Latan-- and later on mostly speakers of the German dialect called "Jiddish". So being opposed to deeds by folks from those populations (or hate speech and false accusations against them or any single member of those tribes) and in no way be called "anti-semitic". Say "anti-Jewish" or "anti-zionis" instead.
The most anti-semitic place in our present world is The State of Israël. Jews curse each other with derogatory remarks which often contain references to them being "SE´emitc" or "Asianic".
But the main anti-semitic occurrences in Israël are all the disparaging remarks about both Israëli and all other Palestinian Arabs. And the persecution of all loal Arabs.

So you are suggesting that the mortality of Jews in the War was exagerrated by ten times. Does the same hold good of Russians too?

Did they lose a mere three million or so? Are the Roma untouched- were there more of them than ever in 1946? And the mentally handicapped? the homosexuals? the Communists- did the party emerge from the Camps, slimmer but its numbers intact? and were Dr Asperger's autistic children discovered later to have thrived and not been starved to death at all?

You are on a familiar path. The next thing is to start wondering whether Hitler actually started the war against the USSR. And to convince yourself that the poor old fuhrer, much misunderstood, was simply taking measures to protect the Reich from Bolshevik hordes...

After that come the swastika tattoos and modelling Nazi uniforms in front of a mirror. It's never been easier to get to Kiev and enrol with the Aryan champions.

Can there be any serious movement without the elephants in the room being addressed by MSM
1) Who was responsible for killing Israelis on Oct 7
2) https://www.globalresearch.ca/israel-case-icj-armed-conflict-only-one-side-allowed-fight/5847639
Craig Murray. "One sided armed conflict" Excerpts:

Israel’s base argument was that this was an “armed conflict”, not a genocide. They used the term repeatedly.

In an armed conflict, there are inevitably civilian casualties. These might be “horrible”, but are always there, and are worse in urban warfare.

The difficulty here is that Israel both claimed that what is happening is “armed conflict”, and denied the legitimacy of any armed resistance to it.

On a similar logic, Israel’s position depends on it being in “armed conflict” but denies there are two legitimate parties to the armed conflict. Israel stated in terms that it must not stop its operations because Hamas continues to fire on Israeli forces and launch rockets into Israel.

It is a strange armed conflict where one side is not allowed to fire. If Israel claims it is in armed conflict, it must acknowledge the legitimacy of the arms of those it is fighting. It cannot use “armed conflict” as an excuse for over 25,000 dead but then also claim it is not an armed conflict but some kind of limited anti-terrorism operation.

In short, if this is an armed conflict, the Palestinians have a right to fight back. Which of course they do. There is no doubt in international law that a people under occupation have the right to armed resistance. I don’t think anybody disputes that, not even the British or US governments.

The key question here is: have the Palestinians no right to resist a genocidal attack because it is Hamas – designated by the West as a proscribed terrorist organisation – doing the resisting? This, in my opinion, is massive hypocrisy. The appalling consequences of branding a de facto government simply as “terrorist” are playing out in the violent killing of hundreds of children every day.

The Hague has to pick its way through the legal nonsense of an “armed conflict” in which only one side is allowed to fight and in which the large majority of casualties are entirely innocent women and children, a distressing proportion of them infants; in which one side has every weapon of the most modern and expensive of armies and massive air power it uses to kill indiscriminately on an industrial scale, and the other side has a few light arms and improvised rockets.

Israel told us that before you did. newsflash, the US doesn't follow international law either. nobody thought Israel would comply. it has been 2 days, maybe wait a little bit before you pronounce that it will have no effect on the war, and the political and military situation around the war.

Israel can easily lie, yes. we know that. the court cannot control that, but it can accelerate the process of getting this to the General Assembly. the court has already ordered a ceasefire. That is why South Africa is so pleased with the verdict. The only external force that can impose a ceasefire on Israel is the US. The ICJ is not the US, not sure why people think it is. what it can do is grease the runway for the opposition by making it easier to use military aid to help Palestine. This is a civilizational war; it does not get stopped in a couple of days by a court ruling. that does not make the court ruling useless.
