Everyone, also the Jews, puts Herzl at The Creation of Zionism.
It just isn’t true!

Don’t have a dog in this fight but curious: is it possible that perhaps before Herzl’s time it wasn’t called ‘Zionism’ but after him it was a recognizable movement named as such?
That said, it is interesting to learn about those initiatives in the early 1800’s. Just a thought, but organized Jewry had extensive contacts and access to funding – especially after the Rothschild networks became established in all major Western nations around that time – but no military or other muscle per se. So they have had to operate through proxies mainly in the West who, obviously, are not on the ground in the Middle East. That said, as soon as the Ottoman Empire finally fell after WWI and the British took over their ‘Mandate’, organized Jewry quickly made progress on the ground in Palestine because of their ability to influence/control British policy as per the infamous Balfour Agreement.
Which leads to an obvious aside and irony: now that organized Jewry finally does have its own nation to govern, albeit granted on very unsatisfactory grounds early on, the whole world can see their character. It’s not a pretty look.

Some highlights from Al Manar:

22:24 Iraq’s Islamic Resistance fighters attacked Hareer military base in Erbil, northern Iraq, using unmanned aerial vehicles: statement

I’m confused. The Americans strike the Iraqi resistance to “deter them from further attacks on American forces” yet, year after year the Iraqi attacks continue.
Nice ‘deterrence’ you got there, Uncle Sam …

22:18 230,000 Settlers Evacuated from Northern ‘Israel’ for First Time since 1948 More..

Hehehe. Ethnic Cleansing! Ethnic Cleansing! The Hebrew Worriers colonizers are getting ethnically cleansed! Hehehe.

My current takeaway from all this is that exceptionalism is a toxic cultural pathogen, moreover not only Jewish. The eruption in Gaza prompted me to reexamine the history of Judaism, despite usually avoiding the topic, especially regarding the conviction in being ‘The Chosen’. This caused me to notice how much of my early upbringing in England featured that same exceptionalist conviction, albeit with England as Jerusalem and the British as The Chosen.
So whether it is the City, the British Empire, the Anglo-Saxons, the Outlaw US Empire or the Jews, they all share this same fundamentalist cult-like belief in their own exceptionalism which, interestingly, inevitably ensures they can never be at peace with neighbours or rivals because such exceptionalism demands one always ends up dominating others who must always end up being subjugated inferiors. The root of exploitative colonialism, therefore, is the arrogant belief in inherent superiority. In short, Jews in Israel are compelled by this belief-based mindset to subjugate Palestinians whose natural resistance to such unnatural injustice only invites further inhumane abuse.
There is no way out of this endless circle of Hell without either genuine renunciation of the toxic exceptionalist mindset of being ‘The Chosen’ or intervention by a higher Authority with the power to enforce its Law, something which does not exist in the current world order and because of which lack the Israelis have been perpetrating injustice and spreading instability throughout the region for so many decades.

Why are Jewish colonizers ‘inspecting’ the property of the native people?
It’s like the Nazis inspecting the property of Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto.

Crazy train 54
The Arab states invaded …… screwed things up etc.
The actual events of the 1948 war have been distorted by decades of Zionist propaganda and Hollywood myth making, but Israeli historians like Morris and Gantz have been surprisingly honest and frank about what occurred.
Palestinian organisations and civil society were broken from 1936 onwards by an extremely brutal British colonial occupation by people like Wingate. By the time of the main period of Jew Terror in Palestine, 1946-8, the Palestinian people were disarmed and virtually leaderless.
In 1948, the Jew Terror campaign of extensive Nazi type massacres and ethnic cleansing began in earnest. Thousands were murdered and raped, entire villages wiped out, and hundreds of thousands driven out in an ethnic cleansing operation.
It was only when this terror campaign had been in progress for several weeks, that there was a very limited and half hearted intervention from the surrounding states.
It is important to remember that none of these states were really independent states at the time. They were all either European colonies or virtual colonies. Egypt was a British colony. They only finally got rid of the British in 1956. Jordan and Iraq were British colonies. Syria had just shaken off French rule. None of them were functioning independent states.

Posted by: anon | Dec 31 2023 0:36 utc | 106

All things considered, the Arab states did not do too badly in 1948.
From this time, Zionist propaganda has promoted the myth of “plucky little Israel” fighting off “seven Arab armies.”
In actual fact, the Arab forces that intervened after the ethnic cleansing began were OUTNUMBERED 3 to 1.
There were 65,000 armed Jew terrorists in the various terror groups like the Stern Gang, well supplied with weapons. The Arab forces numbered only 21,500.
There was a 10,000 strong contingent from Egypt, 6,000 from the Jordanian Arab Legion, who fought well, and another 5,500 in a rag bag of contingents from Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
They inflicted heavy casualties on the Jew terror groups, and managed to prevent the Zionists from seizing East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza until the Zionist Regime initiated a further war of aggression in 1967 to steal the remaining 22% of Palestine. Their efforts should not be denigrated. Of course, much more could and should have been done.

Don’t have a dog in this fight but curious: is it possible that perhaps before Herzl’s time it wasn’t called ‘Zionism’ but after him it was a recognizable movement named as such?

Not exactly. In 1881 the organization “The lovers of Zion” was founded in modern day Ukraine, in then Russian Empire. The word for “Zionism” first appeared in 1886 in German as “Zionismus”, in an article by Nathan Birnbaum. Theodor Herzl founded the Zionist Organization in 1897 and was a prominent promoter of Zionism since 1896. Basically Herzl formed a well defined political and social programme for Zionism. After that, all Jews moving to Palestine identified themselves with Zionism (but they were moving to Palestine even before Herzl started promoting Zionism).
According to the data found in the net, mainly Wikipedia, I admit, Jews in Palestine grew from 9,000 in 1840 to 23,000 in 1880, to 80,000 in 1907. In 1808 and the following year hundreds of Jews moved to Palestine following Vilna Gaon’s teachings. Essentially, Jews began to move to Palestine between the XVIII and the beginning of the XIX century, this migration accelerated after 1840, exploded after 1880, and was unstoppable after WWII.

That was quite a post!
I cannot speak for bevin, but as someone whom he has often ridiculed – not always without reason! – my impression is that his problem with ‘the City’ is that there is considerable evidence that that financial networks financed the Russian Revolution with all its subsequent horrors. This undermines the communist movement as being ‘by workers for workers’ further making supporting it and its relentless class hatred a tad flimsy.
Bevin is clearly an unusually well educated reader of history but he also has both strongly biased opinions and a willingness to excoriate those expressing any which run counter to his own. (Very English!) He does so in an interesting fashion, namely too often stooping to emotion-laden insult. This for sure comes from urgent feeling on his part which again probably has something to do with his knowing deep down inside that the ‘capitalist versus communist’ and ‘left versus right’ debates are a Straw Man provided by the plutocrats for lesser mortals like ourselves to suck on. Perhaps also he has by now invested so much time and superior intellect into promulgating an overly narrow and incorrect (materialist) view that he cannot at this stage in the life cycle renounce it and its many shortcomings, especially when revealed by others in comments on these boards which gall, bite, shred, annoy.
That said, I for one greatly appreciate his considerable mastery of the English sentence which, as the much maligned Churchill rightly said, ‘is a noble thing’!

Gaza, more intensely than all predecessors, represents the culmination of the exact same racist settler-colonial dynamic Cesaire and Fanon illuminated decades ago. Walter Rodney’s classic How Europe Underdeveloped Africa brilliantly encapsulates the dialectic of development, such that the colonizer’s superhuman bounty depends on privation of colonized subhumans. In “the West”, our exceptional sense of entitlement eventually, inevitably reverts whence it originated: into genocidal violence. This from Hamid Dabashi puts it quite well:

“Exterminate all the brutes,” whispers the character Kurtz, an ivory trader sent by a shadowy Belgian company into the heart of an unnamed place in Africa, believed to be the Congo Free State, in Joseph Conrad’s 1899 novella Heart of Darkness.
Swedish author Sven Lindqvist borrowed that phrase for the title of his 1992 book, a moral meditation on the roots of European colonialism, racism and genocide in Africa.
When the Haitian documentary filmmaker Raoul Peck made his 2021 HBO miniseries Exterminate All the Brutes, in part based on Lindqvist’s book, he went around the globe documenting the barbarity of European colonialism, but dared not go near Palestine, except for a quick liberal Zionist cliche reference to how things there were “complicated”.

Sigh (lol).
Your original statement cited Singapore as an example of something relating to Gaza, but it was not clear of what. It seemed to be about the founders of Singapore. If may have been “accurate,” but about what?
I mentioned Meyer (Jewish) because he both was a major player in “creating” Singapore and actively furthered the Zionist project in Palestine.
Then you conflated two different time frames, that of Meyer and Kuan. That didn’t clarify your point.
I still have no idea why you brought in Singapore to compare with Gaza.
Perhaps you live in Singapore.
But I have now lost interest.
I agree that it is OT.

An interesting pie e from lawyers that outline foreign fighters and war crimes stance of Australian government. Yes as usual Australian government ignores IDF participation and refuses to accept there could be war crimes or crimes against humanity as the laws were created and strengthened for Islamis. Oops they never thought it could have reversed with the total protection always offered.

What you say is correct.
I was not attempting to correct you, merely to add the context which is so vital in scotching misinterpretations of the sort that, very quickly lead from Mehmet Ali to Egyptian nationalism to British attempts to modify and shape that nationalism to the muslim brotherhood to claims that both zionism and Hamas were founded by agents of the City of London.
Which as a poster pointed out within the past few days has been on the brink of international irrelevance for decades, fleeced by the likes of Soros.
Bear in mind that the City favoured Blair government sold 401 tons of gold in 2002 at an average price of $275 per ounce an eighth of its current value. And the City, see the Financial Times, still regards the move as being the right one.

*** there is considerable evidence that that financial networks financed the Russian Revolution with all its subsequent horrors. This undermines the communist movement as being ‘by workers for workers’ further making supporting it and its relentless class hatred a tad flimsy.***
It is pretty certain that some Jewish elements backed it simply because they hated Russia (though also wanted to gain from its overthrow) … but other “Western” interests would have genuinely expected the Revolution to fail, whereupon they could loot a wrecked Russia — just as they did decades later following anti-democratic termination of the USSR.
For a UK commercial / geopolitical perspective it was an opportunity to knock out a potential rival (just as WW1 was intended to cripple Germany) since resource-rich Russia was in the process of industrialising and catching up with an already demising Britain.
But the post-revolution State in Russia did not collapse … so the communists, though initially backed by (non military) forces with ulterior motives, did defy expectations and thus at least partly prove their point.

Maersk container ship struck by missile in Red Sea — US Central Command
There are no reports of injuries
© AP Photo/Rebecca Blackwell
NEW YORK, December 31. /TASS/. A container ship run by the Danish shipping company Maersk has been struck by a missile in the southern part of the Red Sea, the US Central Command said.
“Today at approximately 8:30 p.m. (Sanaa time), the container ship Maersk Hangzhou reported that they were struck by a missile while transiting the Southern Red Sea,” the Central Command said on X, formerly Twitter.
The Singapore-flagged ship requested assistance, and the USS Gravely and USS Laboon have responded to the vessel, according to the post. While responding, the USS Gravely shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen toward the ships.
“The vessel is reportedly seaworthy and there are no reported injuries,” the post said.
This is the 23rd attack by the Houthis on international shipping since November 19, the US Central Command said.
Following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Yemen-based Houthis said they would strike Israeli territory and prevent ships affiliated with the country from passing through the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait until the operation in the Palestinian enclave ended. In response, the US announced a plan to conduct Operation Prosperity Guardian in the Red Sea to ensure freedom of navigation and protect merchant ships. Other countries that are set to take part in the operation include Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Seychelles, Spain and the UK.

Much sound and fury signifying not very much.
As to researching the matter I have spent the better part of thirty years researching the author of Paper against Gold and one of the first critics of the bank and the system of finance in London. A man often denounced (recently cancelled) as an anti-semite who was certainly very suspicious of all bankers. And immensely influential in the anti-bank and currency movements which flared up throughout the C19th in the US
I have also looked at the career of the famous evangelical banker, the Clapham Sect’s patron, Henry (son of John) Thornton who was actually governor and a director of the Bank of England.
In fact most of the bankers in the City were, as they always have been and were to be, Protestants, like the Barings who financed many of the railroads in the US including the Atcheson Topeka and Santa Fe, and married into the Bingham family of Philadelphia.
Nathan Rothschild was important, of that there is no doubt but he was a-typical of the Jews in The City most of whom were of Portuguese and Dutch origin. The story of the news from Waterloo is well known and interesting. It was one of several attempts to beat the market, another involved the famous Admiral Cochrane who was cashiered and kicked out of Parliament on trumped up charges- he is remembered in Latin America for the rebel victories over Spanish navies. Elsewhere he is recognised as the inspiration for the Hornblower and Patrick O’Brien books- many of which are based on his despatches and battles.
A case can be made that Cochrane, the master naval strategist, was a great deal more responsible for the shaping of the modern world than any of the Rothschilds.
Ignatius Donnelly also believed, among much else in the weird line, that Rothschild and the English bankers ruled America and were responsible for the fate of silver. He might have been right but the man that Donnelly claimed was Rothschild’s pawn-Grover Cleveland- sided with Venezuela on the Guyanese border dispute.
I noted your absence for several weeks recently. I trust that your health is good and that you post regularly in the New Year- thank you for your concern over my testicles, but there is nothing to worry about.

Thank you, and good points.
I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of anglophone, let alone Russian and world, history. But I have vague knowledge of how progressive several Tzars were in the 1800s, helping with the US Civil War, desirous of building international rail and sea (BRI) networks, introducing democratic reforms, changing land ownership laws to give Russian peasants the highest status and standard of living in Europe. And I know that the Tzar and even his youngest children were butchered in secret and their bodies unceremoniously chucked down a mineshaft, a despicable act coloring the entire communist Jewish Bolshevik movement, including all its filthy monies from New York, London, Berlin and Stockholm. And I know that, for whatever weird concatenation of reasons thereafter, millions of Russians were slaughtered in several cycles involving bloody massacres and mass incarceration, all of which being the inevitable karmic unraveling from that lawless, heartless execution of an abdicated Tzar and his innocent family. There can be no justification for such a low deed just as there can be no justification for what a Jewish people are now perpetrating in Gaza, itself a similar karmic unraveling of a glaring injustice.
Of course communism was part of a worldwide materialist thrust to have society reflect its soulless, mechanistic mindset after which, unsurprisingly, our civilization has not advanced but steadily declined though technology has greatly advanced.
Materialism which only values what it can physically measure does not, it turns out, measure up!

Digital evidence isn’t evidence.
In Germany British intelligence has just conducted a pantomime of their own special forces people dressed as Hamas, armed with modern weaponry.
In Iraqi Kurdistan Israel flew out actors from London to participate in the Telly Avivwood dramas to scare and intimidate followers of Daesh. Digital terror is Israel’s speciality.
Political Islam is a willing partner in this use of terror porn, in order to manipulate their followers. Islam doesn’t use any means available to win. Islam explains its beliefs clearly , that we should recognise and thank our Creator.
Terror porn has no.part in that data/ explanation. In fact terror deliberately closes down the intellect, rendering the audience incapable of digesting the important information.
Hamas by contrast sought to open the prison door with which Sharon closed down communication between Islam and Judaism, just as Victoria Nuland closed the door of communication between Russia and Ukraine with terror porn snipers at Maidan.
Isrsel’s predictable response to the Gaza door being opened was to stage a false flag terror porn op to immediately slam shut the door of communication.
It is purely the ignorance of Islamist Muslim Brotherhood that created this predictable genocide. Their terror porn philosophy was inculcated by the British in 1920, and has destroyed much of the Muslim world in our own lifetimes.
And No , they don’t like intellectual discussion about the 200 year catastrophe that has been political Islam working for the empires of lies. International Law and China and Putin agree that all manifestations of state terror are equally unacceptable. Hamas isn’t state terror , however much Israel tries to pretend that it is.
Eat poo, political Islam

# 9 Poul Thanks. 500K dead Gazans in the not too distant future, a hideous thought, horrendous, words fail me on my distress and dismay. But the math, hmm.
There are those “The Cold Equations” as the sci short story by Tom Godwin penned in 1954. The hunger – starvation deaths will not be linear, they will go exponential. Poor sanitation, high population density will lead to various epidemics (one can only hope the israeli elites do not fan this part) . For the lack and poor quality of water, many will suffer permanent degraded renal function.
Any epidemiologist worth their salt would counsel an immediate take over of the Philadelphia – Rafah crossing and allow unfettered transport of vetted cargos. But of course still needed would be the water, fuel and electricity from israel. However I do not see Egypt or the usOfa exercising the gumption to make that happen.
My dystopia is too little, too late with a trace of fake myopic, oh we did not know it would get that bad so fast.
There has to be a few modelling this on supercomputers, just wish that there was a FOSS organization doing it.

thank you for that info in your post, Exile. much obliged
if I recall rightly an article by Craig Murray (a different one from the one at Consortium News that I referenced and linked to yesterday, but one I can’t seem to find now), he said that the world diplomatic community is very much aware of the grave consequences of any complaint against israel under the Genocide Convention because the world diplomatic corps knows very well that israel is guilty in Gaza, and that the net of such charges would also bring in many top officials in the USA (especially) and in the EU for their supplying israel (‘aiding and abetting’) with all the means, armaments and even intelligence/surveillance etc to carry out this Genocide against the Gazans.
the diplomats know that the US is guilty/complicit too, but everyone was too afraid to file the charges because of the rather dire consequences they feared from an arrogant and malicious administration in Washington, not to mention also those scoundrels in London, Paris, Berlin and Brussels, and so on.
I am assuming that the Court will follow up on the charges of Genocide, and that essentially israel’s goose is cooked….

Jane @ 69:
Both Mohammed Ali Pasha in Egypt and the Ottomans in their own ways were restructuring (or trying to) their respective territories along Western lines in order to keep up with the European colonial powers and maintain their independence from European rule.
Had Palestine come under Egyptian rule – Mohammed Ali Pasha was in charge up to about 1848 – it would have come under British colonial rule as part of the de facto British Egyptian protectorate in 1882.
Wikipedia: History of Egypt under the British
Bevin @ 82 should have mentioned that when Mohammed Ali Pasha was given the job of subduing the Wahhabis in 1811, he threw a party to celebrate his son’s expedition into northern Arabia. All the Mameluke class of soldier nobles (they had ruled Egypt before the Ottomans) were invited to the party. Once they all arrived, the gates around them were bolted and Mohammed Ali Pasha’s forces butchered all the Mamelukes.
And with their deaths, the one class of people most likely to challenge Mohammed Ali Pasha or the Ottomans as rulers of Egypt (and possibly the Eastern Mediterranean region up to Antioch / Antakya) was snuffed out.

Odd I haven’t read this on either thread: “UN on Strike on Belgorod: Attacks on Civilians Unacceptable, Violate International Law”. That would also mean attacks on civilians anywhere are unacceptable, violate international law, and that includes Gaza. Again: Premeditated attacks on civilians violate international law. Here’s the exact quote cited:
“Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must end immediately. And of course, they are to be condemned.”
Not just condemned, but prosecuted for murder resulting from an act of terrorism in both cases.
Why else has Russia been extremely careful?

Posted by: karlof1 | Dec 31 2023 4:53 utc | 134

I doubt South Africa’s filing of genocide against Israel will be properly and justly handled. for the simple reason that it would open the door to prosecutions against the US.
but even so, the action will serve the purpose of showing the court to be yet another so-called international institution corrupted by the US and the West, governed by the double standards of the “rules-based world order”, and therefore bereft of any legitimacy it might have enjoyed.

Interesting bit of information from the renowned Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung – Israel asks (or rather demands) help from Germany on the border with Lebanon. It means that USA is not eager to do that, and defers to Germany, (just like they deferred to Germany with Leopards for Ukraine ).
here is the link and fragment of that article:
https://www.faz.net/aktuell/politik/ausland/krieg-in-nahost-israel-sitz-des-hamas-geheimdienstes-gestuermt-19417669-p2.html

I suspect any such failure will give South Africa the justification it needs to secede from both the ICC and ICJ.
That should open the door to others in the global south who’ve obligated themselves to it’s jurisdiction to leave as well.

Gaza is undergoing a genocide and an ethnic cleansing both at the same time…israel is a settler colonial occupation … oct 7 was the greatest act of resistance to white colonialism in twenty years..south africa is focusing the world’s attention on izzraeli occupation and american imperialism. Funny old world, isn’t it?
Putin is being threatened with war crimes by the ICC for evacuating children to safety from Ukrainian shelling.
Meanwhile the Zionist Regime slaughters and maims tens of thousands, openly brags how it intends to murder every man, woman and child in the territory, threatens to drop an atom bomb on Gaza, tortures, rapes, loots and burns to an extent that would make even Genghis Khan look like a second division amateur, steals medical supplies, desecrates cemeteries and places of worship, steals bodies for organ harvesting, and the reaction of the ICC ……………. ?
One big yawn.

With all the back and forth miscommunication and/or relatively peaceful and respectful in fighting going on in a very difficult time; and that this isn’t an open thread prone to becoming hijacked or diverted, I wanted to say something.
And this applies to b too. I am so thankful for this community of free thinking, open to debate, respectful, humane, educated, and diverse opinions.
bevin, james, karlof1, Scorpion, Jane, refinejenna, psychohistorian, arch_bungle, even the hasbarat beclowned fools, and again – of course b and anyone I forgot. Aleph_Null, canuck, this is all off the tip of my tongue…Nemesis Calling too.
I appreciate you all, but even more so this venue that b has provided to us. It’s a relic of the past, but also a completely needed type of forum for the future which the powers that be will fight tooth and nail to destroy or silence. MoA has taught me more than I could ever convey, including how to deal with radically differing even opposite opinions. In a year within which I lost several great close friends – like minded and not – as well as endured health scares including cancer – not to mention the horrors that Isreali Zionist hawks are inflicting on Gaza and settlers with support of the military carry out actions against Palestinians in the West Bank that all of us would frankly consider beyond the bounds of humanity. Ukraine, Pakistan, etc. The ridiculous farce of USA and UK (as well as EU countries’) fake domestic capital owned politics.
This is a site we should all be thankful for. If not only because it will eventually go away. b carried the billmon torch, endured the fake cries of “anti-Semitism”, guided us through the horrific planned post-911 “new Pearl Harbor” years, and all of that.
Please donate to b. Please consider who might take over for him when he is inevitably faced with the harsh reality of old age (as my parents are now, and it’s terribly sad).
Long live MoA. Long live the light touch of b’s moderation, the old school operation and presentation. And long live the resistance to GloboCap’s desire to commodify all of us.

Re: ICJ lawsuit by South Africa
The ramifications of this lawsuit are profound. Even if a full blown genocide charge is not supported by the court, it will be difficult for the court to not accept certain crimes of war charges as valid. ( bulldozing DP women and children, executing women and children sheltering, plus various other instances of atrocities )
The Likud‘s Defense will be fascinating to observe. They can‘t argue their usual talking points, because the ICJ Judges know international norms inside and out. The key points the Likud will need to argue will be
1) we aren’t the occupying power
2) our carpet bombing of civilians is proportionate
3) the public language used by our leadership is just hyperbole, we didn’t really mean kill every last one of them
4) those paktry few atrocities committed were exceptions and we quickly punished the perpetrators.
While the ICJ is most certainly not fully independent and neutral, it’s about as good as a court venue one can have. Barflies should read this 2004 Advisory Opinion the ICJ made on the question of the Wall the Likud built in the occupied West Bank. The court advises the UNSC that:
1) Israel is the Occupying Power
2) building the wall is a crime
3) Israel needs to pay locals damages due to the wall
https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-178825/
Now note that the UNSC resolution 2334 of 2016 supports the ICJ Advisory Opinion. That might give the ICJ judges a bit more backbone in making their determination.
And Yes – as this South African lawsuit glacially wends its way through the ICJ process; one one hand the Likud and Washington War Party will be exerting untold pressure and brutal threats behind the scenes to kill this lawsuit, on the other hand; the 87% of the world that is the BRICs+ will be supporting the lawsuit.
Finally, the Likud can ( and will ) ignore the ICJ verdict – but the wider international community will have difficulty ignoring it. At a minimum, there will be travel bans, exclusion from international events, and various other social pariah sanctions. At a maximum, it’s possible that the BRICs break off all economic ties and issue arrest warrants for the Likud leadership.

There are many nails in the Zionist coffin, at least this is one more.
There will come a time when the Zionists scream for justice from the very same courts they call “illegitimate” and the courts will not be there for them because they themselves demolished them.
Just as they will cry out for doctors and hospitals but there will be none because they themselves bombed them.
Just as they will cry out for trustworthy allies but will find themselves encircled by wolves because only wolves would ally with a people as corrupt as the Zionist Jew.

Posted by: mastameta | Dec 31 2023 4:53 utc | 142
Yes the ICJ has been relatively untarnished by political machinations. It has handled claims between the US and Iran quite successfully for instance. Soon that image of integrity will be gone as it was with the ICC fresh out the gate.

The reason the case was brought to the ICJ by South Africa and not Russia is obvious. Russia is an aggressor state according to the west and, anyway, Israel has been cloning the goals of the Gaza operation from Russia’s SMO in Ukraine. Israel would just resort to its signature whataboutism: what about the missile hit you did the other day etc? But it is equally certain to me the case has been coordinated between BRICS members.

My understanding is they are not being “dumped like trash in a hole” by Palestinians. They are being buried in mass graves because the cemeteries are full. Anyway IOF go around bulldozing cemeteries. It is trues that some are not identifiable and decomposed because that is the state they were returned in. But Palestinians are doing their best to try and keep records for these bodies especially signs of torture etc.

The reason the case was brought to the ICJ by South Africa and not Russia is obvious. Russia is an aggressor state according to the west
Posted by: Jonathan W | Dec 31 2023 8:01 utc | 162
In theory the reason Russia cannot go to ICJ is that in March 2022 the ICJ ordered Russia to stop the SMO. I had written about this in Dec 29 thread. On February 26 2022 Ukraine went squealing to the ICJ saying that Russia was justifying its SMO by alleging “genocide” in the Donbas”. https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/182/182-20220227-APP-01-00-EN.pdf
Putin and Lavron are on the record stating the situation in Donbas is “genocide”.
And, of course Putin has that arrest warrant from the ICC.
It’s clear to anyone that if Donbas was genocide, Gaza is genocide on steroids. And yet Russia refrains from even mentioning the word “genocide” with respect to Israel.
Imho, Russia is a hostage to the Zionist lobby. I was surprised to learn that there are less than 100,000 Russians who are Jewish within Russia. However there are 2 million Russians who are Jewish outside Russia (75% in Israel and large shares in the US, Canada and Germany).
A good report by Brookings Institute explains how Russia views these Jews as their diplomats in the world.
A non Jewish Russian in the West is subjected to intense Russophobia and must go around condemning Putin.
But a Jewish Russian in the West is Jewish first and Russian second. They cannot be criticized on grounds of anti Semitism. So they are able to wield undue influence in media, academia and finance. Until recently, “Jewish” used to be a nationality in Russia whereas a Muslim from say Dagestan or Chechnya would have that republic as their “nationality”. If you’re a Russian from Dagestan living in the US, you’ll need help from a higher power not to be discriminated against.
Putin and Co seem to be believe these Jews will act in Russian rather than Israeli interests but I doubt that.

Order of 5 June 2023: Admissibility of the Declarations of Intervention. Regarding the Admissibility of Declarations of Intervention by all the EU vassal states, only the Chinese JUdge had a dissenting opinion. https://www.icj-cij.org/case/182
It is disheartening to see the number of political cases in the ICJ eg this one by Canada and Netherlands being suddenly concerned about torture in Syria. The dissenting opinions come from the Russian and Chinese judges.
https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/188/188-20231116-sum-01-00-en.pdf

The crimes of the Zionist Regime surpass those of Nazi Germany at its worst. They make the Nazis look like rank amateurs.

(a) communication lines down, internet severed.
(b) IDF specifically tasked with sniping and bombing journalists.
(c) Bulldozers tasked with crushing bodies under rubble to unrecognizable goo.
(d) Bodies of those dying in Israeli custody are not being returned (+organs).
(e) Hospitals all destroyed (primarily to encourage More-Death™, but also to prevent record-keeping of casualties).
(f) food, water, electricity all shut-off… as if that action alone could not cause millions to die.

Instead, they let you see the powerful network of Jewish individuals and businesses that masterminded and organized the 9/11 attacks and helped in the cover up of all the traces leading to Israel. All in all, a giant false flag operation designed to portray all Arab muslims as terrorists, and instigate the USA to launch its “war on terror”. A deceit of incredible scale, to which we all have been subjected during the latest 22 years.
Bears a lot of similarity to the October 7th events, another plot in which Hamas played the role of useful idiots – much like the 19 Arabs that kidnapped the 9/11 planes.
Searching the internet for “Bollyn 9/11” brings up a wealth of links. When I restricted that search to documents in German language, it all disappeared and left behind a sad link to an antifa website where they warn you of Bollyn’s anti-Semitism.

I see it as Israel continues to bomb Iranian assets (and civilian airports or anything else it wants) as part of Israel agreement with Russian non-interference set up during Syrian war and that the current intensity and targets of Israel is to get a response directly from Iran/Syria so they can get US in to widen the war.
Israel is obviously comfortable that Russia won’t join a U.S. war with Iran/US or they wouldn’t be risking bringing US in as they so vehemently want as they are losing with Hamas.

Sounds like Orc mischief to me.
“US Command and Israeli water wafers” making crap up on the seas. A drone is believable, the boat crap is not.

Wargamers on all sides must be asking themselves who would win in a direct comfrontation between the US and Russia. A realistic assessment after what happened to the counteroffensive? C’mon man.
A certain modus vivendi has been established in Syria but why was Russia in the first place if not to be a thorn in Israel’s side? Russia may be passive until it akn’t i.e. until it is attacked at which point it is happy to “attrite” its enemy. That what Putin said: Russia will not back down.

It’s classic urban warfare. Where’d they get the guns from?
More importantly, do they have RPGs???
