Good article. Israel becomes more non-viable the more extreme it gets.
Posted by: rk | Dec 10 2023 20:08 utc | 95
You make a good point, I don’t believe Hamas has asked for help, and Iran has said it will not intervene unless asked, or Hamas is clearly losing, and the genocide will be completed. Except for Hezbollah and AnsarAllah’s harassing tactics that is how it has been. Lately the Iraqi and Syrian militias have been stepping up too to harass Uncle Sugar. I would say that Hamas is just lately fully engaging with the IDF, has them right where it wants them.
A nasty price to pay, but when you have nothing to look forward too, as the Palestinians do not, people will pay it, as they have before.
As I said in the beginning, Hamas will duke it out with the IDF, in Gaza, and Hezbollah and Iran will just hold their coat, until there is some outcome from that fight.

“Let’s relocate all these people to…New York”
You do know an awful lot of the West Bank settlers are from New York?
Brooklyn wasn’t Jewish enough for them. Tel Aviv is not Jewish enough for them. These are crazy people who will be nothing but trouble no matter where they go. Perpetually victims, they are the least appealing marginal group ever.
Fuck them. Samson doctrine allows a marginal group of lunatics to hold the planet hostage. No reason to have any sympathy with that or to care where they end up. New York does not want them back.

In this context, I would like to say that the UAE is Russia’s biggest trade partner in the Middle East and in the Gulf Region. Let me note that the UAE is a major investor in the Russian economy. Investment in the non-oil sector increased by 103 percent over the past year. I would like to specifically mention that this is an unprecedented breakthrough which demonstrates the special nature of relations between our countries. I will be glad to continue working together on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various spheres. Of course, promoting development in energy, infrastructure, and high technologies, as well as elsewhere has special priority.
In addition to this, I would like to mention that the United Arab Emirates and the Russian Federation have been working together and cooperating within various international frameworks. For example, we work together within BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, where the Emirates were granted dialogue partner status in May 2023. One should certainly be skeptical of RT and Sputnik just as with all other news sources. There will always be errors.
Lavrov doesn’t think they’re too bad though, this is from yesterday: “Lavrov Congratulates Rossiya Segodnya on Media Group’s 10th Anniversary”.
If something got lost I’m sure they’re all able to make a correction.

“The media group is a legitimate leader among domestic media. It is a worthy representative of our country in the international arena, publishing a wide range of news products in 30 languages and actively cooperating with more than 100 foreign partners,” Lavrov said in his congratulatory letter.

“On Smolenskaya Square we value our good, friendly relations. We count on their further development and strengthening for effective information support of Russia’s foreign policy,” Lavrov said. “I wish you and all the company’s employees robust health, new creative heights and good luck.”

My emphasis in bold:

The Rossiya Segodnya International Media Group unites the Russian-language information resources RIA Novosti, Sputnik Radio, PRIME, InoSMI, Baltnews, Ukraine.ru, Social Navigator, KOT, and Arctic.ru. Abroad, it is represented by the Sputnik International News Agency and Radio.

(Not sure if this also includes TASS or maybe TASS only uses some of the RIA Novosti material just like Sputnik does).

THERE CANNOT BE A TWO STATE SOLUTION
THERE CANNOT BE A ONE STATE SOLUTION
However one pragmatic solution widely discussed by supporters of Isreal could involve the United States providing significant monetary aid to Egypt and Jordan to accommodate Gaza’s population. Relocating the Judea and Samaria population to Jordan, where a substantial part of the Palestinian population already resides, is a realistic approach and not a pipe dream like the one state or two state.
The USA has allocated substantial aid to various countries, such as Ukraine. Even if the US and contributions from NATO and wealthy Arab countries provided a trillion dollars to Egypt and Jordan, it could be a reasonable amount to finally resolve the Palestinian issue. Some funds should be used to construct a border wall and a no man’s land to prevent infiltration into Israel and thwart future terror attacks like October 7th (Israel’s own 9/11).
This post like my previous one, might provoke discomfort, but these are the ground realities. This pragmatic approach is crucial to address the Palestinian question. Palestinians deserve their happiness, regardless of their birthplace. Let’s unite to provide them with a new place to settle.

Or we could send all the Jews in “Israel” to the Egypt desert since they think it is such a great idea. The land called Palestine belongs to the Palestinian people. It has for been such long before the Romans drove the “Israeli’s” out of Palestine. Now the Jews want to play Romans with the Palestinian people. Tuff shit Mr. Cohen. try again.

Procter&Gamble Explains Why Israel is THE Startup Nation
Ricardo Geromel
May 16, 2012,02:10pm EDT
This article is more than 10 years old.
Procter & Gamble’s Israel House of Innovation collaborates with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NASDAQ: TEVA; TASE: TEVA), the largest generic drug manufacturer in the world; the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which carries out more than 1/3 of all academic scientific research in Israel; Powermat, which has only 70 employees and is developing wireless battery rechargers. By the way, Jay-Z participates in the JV with Powermat and P&G not only as a spokesperson but also as an investment partner. P&G has also signed on bilateral agreement with Israeli Chief Scientist providing Israeli startups that collaborate with P&G favorable access to governmental funding.
Lital Asher-Dotan explained why P&G calls Israel a startup nation:
-Israel has the highest density of tech start-ups in the world. Israel has about 80 companies listed on NASDAQ, more than all of Europe, Japan, Korea, India, and China combined.
-Israel is the biggest destination for global venture capital per capita. In recent years, many US based VCs have opened Israeli funds and/or Israeli offices – Sequoia ($580M), Benchmark ($490M). Greylock, Battery Ventures, Bessemer. Main accelerators in Israel are: Microsoft, VentureGeeks, The Junction, TechLoft, DreamIT Ventures,The Hive, UpWestLabs, The Library, and MobileMonday.
– Israel raises 2.5 times as much global venture capital as the U.S., 30 times more than Europe, 80 times more than India, and 350 times more than China.
– Israel has the highest level of R&D spending relative to GDP in the world: 4,9% in 2009. OECD average is 2,3%.

All kinds of resistance to imperialism are valuable, of course, but most of these are to some extent possible because of a history of Russian and Chinese resistance to imperialism.

If you want to call Russia ‘oligarchs’ and China ‘nomenclature’ then perhaps your list should include Cuban Dictators, Hezbollah Terrorists, Iranian Theocracy, Palestinian Terrorists, Venezuelan Dictators, and Houthi Extremists. All equally useful and discerning appellations.
Posted by: Honzo | Dec 10 2023 19:47 utc | 88

Not agree with you and not sure how you define imperialism. My definition is taken from a Russian guy back in 1916.
I think there is a difference between “nomenclature” and “oligarch” on one side (group 1) with “dictator”, “terrorist”, “theocracy”, “extremist” on the other side (group 2).
Group 2 doesn’t have finance monopoly as ruling class.
Group 2 doesn’t have monopoly capital at the top of domestic economy.
Group 2 doesn’t export capital to developing countries.
Another point to think about: popular movement doesn’t mean working class and it’s avantgard. If masses want a change, they utilize whatever utility available to them, for instance “political islam”.
So even without the great October Revolution and it’s undeniable influence in human history, there would be an anti-imperialist stream fighting for national-independence.

Okay, oldhippie sounds like a credible voice of New York, on grounds of plausibility.
However venal your fanatical West Bank colonists might be, I’ve become more sensitized to in-your-face venality of Bay Area pwogwessives (borrowing Alex Cockburn’s old drawl) such as Oakland’s own Kamala, who uprightly insists that “too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”

” Excerpt from the article: “Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the principled position of rejection and condemnation of terrorism in all its forms,” the statement read. If this political doublespeak was designed to satisfy everyone, it instead shows an absence of morality and a failure of will on the part of Putin.”
The double speak is from USUKIS, not Putin. USUKIS controls the terrorist Islamists and Azov Nazis, and has deployed them in Africa, in Libya, in Egypt and Syria.
Russia gas opposed this USUKIS controlled terrorism, not to maintain its access to the Mediterranean and Baltic seas, but because USUKIS is using proxies as proxies to break International Law, overthrow sovereign governments and colonise resources.
USUKIS is posdibly doing exactly the same using Muslom Brotherhood in Palestine. Nothing immoral about holding USUKIS to its commitments to International Law.
Large quantities of weaponry have been sent via Ukraine to Hamas, potentially by Putin . So its conceivable that the diplomatic niceties conceal moral icebergs invisible to the rest of the world. Who are we ?

Tja. They had a map adjoined to a UN declaration of designated areas where they can and have to dwell. Probably burned it the same day.
They also had understanding that Allies leased that land from the all other Semites there, Arabs, Palestinians, Bedouins and for a lot of money, gold and diamonds, followed by many concessions and deals.
So, it is not their money, and not their land. They forgot about it a day later.
It made many Semite families rich, also powerful. Palestinians were, even before the Jews arrived in a bigger numbers, well off, European oriented, moderate and peaceful. Even better traders and businessman, like Lebanese. Newcomers hated all that.
Odesa was the hub for arming the Jews even before English “gave up”. A fresh asylum seeker in Palestine from Weimar, Germany designed UZI 9mm and the lebenraum Holy Land enterprise could start.
And 70+ years later here we are. Insomnia, stress, fear, retardation and a disgust 24/7, all over the World, because of some Nazis? Really? This ends in a one state solution. Even an AI bot should know that.

Weird thing is daily bombed Syria and Lebanon didn’t …
Syria S-300s never fired at Israeli Air Force while they have control over 2/3 of Israel …
Happy with downing “some percentage” of air missiles shot by Israel with older S-200 and keeping count of casualties. Unaware it seems that S-200 could be used as ground to ground missiles as well.
Something doesn’t add up …
Yemen prolly didnt get the memo.

Regarding the earlier “debate” on Israeli foreknowledge and the LIHOP angle:
https://archive.is/KHKIM

‘This Massacre Should Have Been Prevented’ | Despite Israeli Intelligence Warnings About a Hamas Attack, the Army Didn’t Evacuate the Nova Festival
Top defense officials held urgent consultations the night before October 7 about a possible Hamas attack. But no one in the IDF notified the the Nova festival organizers or the party-goers, hundreds of whom were mown down – and for nine hours, no one came to save them.

and

Hours before Hamas’ October 7 terror attack, Israel’s security forces had enough warning signs to prepare – at least partially – for the possibility that terrorists would seek to infiltrate from Gaza into Israel.
Despite the fact that the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade approved the Nova music festival’s staging in the Kibbutz Re’im parking lot, was responsible for its security, and its commander was aware of the warnings, no one in the IDF notified the thousands of party-goers or the party’s organizers of their concerns, or demanded that the event be shut down.
[….]
Even though the defense establishment did not anticipate the size of the incursion by Hamas terrorists, it received warnings the night before that the organization would try to stage an attack inside Israel.
[….]
The intelligence was based on several sources that pointed to worrisome preparations on the other side of the border. The later warning had been preceded by other intelligence that aroused concerns among officials.
The findings were worrying enough that top defense officials held two urgent consultations on Friday night in an effort to determine whether the intelligence they had in hand pointed to plans by Hamas to infiltrate Israeli territory.
The first phone meeting took place close to midnight and included senior figures from the Shin Bet security service’s southern district and Military Intelligence; Gen. Oded Basyuk, head of the IDF’s operations branch, Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkleman, the head of the Southern Command and other senior officers. Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi was made aware of the warnings and the urgent consultations.
A second consultation, which included now Ronen Bar, the Shin Bet chief, took place at about 3 A.M. Saturday. The commander of the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade, Col. Haim Cohen, who signed the papers on October 5 authorizing the Nova party, was aware of the warnings, and knew about the urgent meetings that were taking place that night.
Following the second meeting, the IDF decided to accept the Shin Bet’s opinion that Hamas was conducting a training exercise and was not preparing for an attack. Military Intelligence accepted that view but due to concerns by the Southern Command forces were to be made ready for the possibility that Hamas might act.
The commander of the Palmachim Base, Brig. Gen. Omri Dor, received an order to step up drone monitoring of Gaza. Calling up a drone crew on a weekend is an exceptional act, reserved for concrete warnings and concern of an imminent security incident.
[…]
Some two weeks prior to the festival, the organizers were invited to a meeting at the Gaza Division, at which they were presented with the commanders’ conditions for holding the event. The permit, signed by Col. Cohen, says among other things that “the northern brigade is responsible for regional security during the event in the fence space across from the Gaza Strip.”
But at 6:30 A.M., the festival attendants found out that the required forces were not stationed by the fence. One of the commanders on alert in the area even claimed to Haaretz that no one informed the forces that were placed on alert that the festival was even taking place.
Shortly after the Hamas terrorists broke through the border fence, they reached the area where the festival was held and massacred hundreds of civilians. Some police and security guards who were there tried to fight, but they couldn’t hold for long against the hundreds of heavily armed terrorists who entered the area.
At 7 A.M., the party organizers tried for the first time to contact a military agency: One of them called Lt. Col. Elad Zandani, head of the Home Front Command at the Gaza Division and the man tasked with the process of approving the festival – and told him that terrorists were shooting the partygoers.

It actually goes on quite a bit more. But I think that people are very uncomfortable with the LIHOP argument because of their personal biases and concerns, such that saying Israeli military intelligence – on a high, compartmentalized level – essentially stood down takes away from Hamas’ ability to plan and execute such an operation as took place on October 7. However, I think that the balance of the currently available evidence, and the likelihood that further information will trickle out over the coming months and/or years, paints a compelling picture that the reality of the situation is comprised of both: 1) Excellent Hamas planning and execution, 2) Aided by an intentional decision at a relatively high level to ensure that warnings were ignored and operational readiness was compromised on that day, at least for a long enough period of time to allow for a sequence of events sufficiently horrifying to “justify” the extreme, and long-desired near total Israeli destruction of Gaza and the displacement and death of so many civilians and so much infrastructure as to make it nearly impossible for the Gazan Palestinians to ever rebuild.
For shame.

Re sln2002:
Important information to frame the extent of SCO and BRICS expanded – then consider in concert with GCC ASEAN as well as loosely affiliated African states. This represents a very significant portion of the RoW as compared to the Five Eyes+Israel. At this time, the assumption of Biden, Blinken and Bibi is that they alone will determine the fate of Gaza. 100,000 civilians killed, the majority of whom are women, elder and most important children, says otherwise. Remember, a majority of these were burned alive or physically decimated. There is plenty of evidence on social media.
Close textual reading of various UN documents indicates that at the time of the creation of Israel, Palestine was delineated as an independent state as well – this has been obfuscated by USUKISrael. Inquiring minds would suggest that the aforementioned organizations will as an aggregate insist that, when the status of Gaza is being worked out, they have seats at the table for their representatives and also present in the decision making, the elected governmental representatives of Gaza which happens to be Hamas. Gaza is not an entity to be “disposed of” at the whim of Israeli security – The well defined end goal which none dare speak of is the emergence of an independent Palestinian state, to include the West Bank, represented by their government which was elected in free and fair elections. When Gaza is a free and independent political entity – BRICS countries and others will 1)enroll Palestine as member in BRICS+, GCC and SCO to assure mutual protection from UKUSIS 2) create in concert with the International Developmental Bank a completely organized financial and banking system using their own currency 3) immediately address in temporary form – field hospitals, schools and most important housing. None of which need pass through Israeli scrutiny. All of this is USUKIS worst nightmare – not that Palestine seeks to respond to Israeli massacres with in-kind violence – but enlisting their brightest and best, from all over the world, to engage in creating a country which will rival Shanghai and Hong Kong. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Too many war crimes, too many children, women, civilians have needlessly died to leave the fate of Palestine in the hands of the perpetrators of what is alluded to internationally as the Gaza holocaust – US/UK/Israel. This geopolitical re-organization will also involve far greater conflict since it tolls the death knell for the hegemon. Israel will emerge with defined boundaries, free to employ their racial purity policies within those boundaries – but never again will they be allowed untrammeled killing.

You expressed my views when you wrote:
“When will everyone else decide that it simply isn’t good enough to let a country (or two or three) stop everyone else from taking decisive action to end a genocide?
When will they realize that they’re roughly two months late? Can they or will they ever be able to explain what they did during these two months?
The US supports the genocide and thus have their answers in that. Can we get anything but boilerplate statements or cheap words out of the rest? Why are they in effect by their lack of actions also supporting genocide?

I admit that I am not able to follow all the diplomatic statements coming from Russia and China regarding the ongoing US-Israeli prosecution of genocide in Gaza. But even if Russia and China are clearly on record as opposing these war crimes, I join with Sunny in asking Why is there still an ongoing genocide after two months and three days?. Lack of action speaks louder than words.

Yes, Israel is a dependent nation. I wouldn’t count on America collapsing any day now, but Israel will be able to “keep the music playing”. Every day they carry on is another nail in their coffin. The more genocide they perpetrate the worse it will be for them. A parallel is the Ukrainians carrying on after walking away from negotiations. Not one day have they looked strong since. A good argument could be made that those negotiations were the high water mark for Ukrainian power in the last 2 years.
It’s not a dramatic move that usually ends things. It’s death from a hundred smaller daily miscalculations.
In this regard, the hubris of the Zionists will be a fatal character flaw.

Because Israel has nukes. Murderers with nukes. For sure if things go nuclear that we’re going to have far more deaths.
Sadly, I think that it’s going to be a war of attrition and I’m not thinking that Israel is going to prevail. The price for liberty is high. Lots of tears ahead…

Hamas was stunned too at how far their incursion was ALLOWED to go:
Hamas is also stunned.
“Their success surprised them, too,” a diplomatic source in the region told Al-Monitor on condition of anonymity. “They hoped to kill some Israelis, embarrass the IDF and return to Gaza with two or three kidnapped Israelis. Instead, they roamed inside Israel for more than a day, killing over a thousand Israelis and getting stuck with something like 200 abductees,” the source said.
“They are very worried. With two abductees, they could have negotiated with Israel for permission to build a seaport and freedom for hundreds of prisoners held in Israeli jails. With more than 100 abductees, they will face the entire Israeli army inside Gaza. That’s the tragedy of their success,” the diplomatic source added.
Of course this article premises the above on Israel’s “over-reliance” on high tech surveillance and intelligence gathering, but that glosses over the MULTIPLE warnings Israel received including the allegedly “vague” ones from Egypt.

Israel cannot withdraw from Judea and Samaria, recognized by Palestinians as the West Bank, as it’s planned by the ruling Likud and its allies for settlement by Jewish communities.
This area is fundamental to the Jewish state. With 700,000 Jews already settled there, uprooting them is practically unfeasible. These facts are informally acknowledged by sympathetic officials at the US State Department and represent the majority view among Israeli Jews.

Removing 700,000 thousand illegal Jewish settlers from the West Bank “is practically unfeasible” but removing 2.3 million Palestinians from Gaza is quite possible. Perhaps Israelis is showing the Arab world how to achieve the “unfeasible”.

They could also just be bad at math, Ed. 700k is smaller than 2.3 million, but maybe the decimal shorthand is so confusing… 😉 Dunno, could also just be an AI bot to get a rise out of people. But I prefer the “bad at math” theory, it helps explain how they fucked up so bad in estimating a danger reported to them by multiple sources over months.
It’s not LIHOP everyone, Israel’s government is just bad at math! 🙂 Don’t buy their security hardware and software because they’re bad at math!

Posted by: Tom_Q_Collins | Dec 10 2023 21:35 utc | 124
That right there is not true: they did not kill 1,000+ Israelis. The evidence shows clearly that a large number of the civilians were killed by Israeli tanks and helicopter gunships.
The account I read straight from Hamasis that they did go further than planned but firstly there are several Palestinian groups and secondly the Israelis were in huge disarray due to the communications being taken down.
Right now there are any number of experts trying to explain away the success and portray it as a tragedy.
What’s happening in Gaza right now is indeed a tragedy but Israel has crossed every red line of humanity by destroying every hospital and everything in Gaza: that could not have been foreseen by any rational actor even giving allowance for a small number of Israeli war crimes.
Nobody could have foreseen that genocide would be cheered on by the West in this way.
Btw “David Cohen” is some kind of spam bot. Why else would the comment #8 show up again between 128 and 129.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you there. I fully foresaw and predicted a massive cheerleading effort for genocide. Scratch a liberal and reveal a fascist. The West is a fascist imperialist group of countries hiding behind fake claims of humanitarianism and democracy. And on top of that, just look at what prominent Zionists and their supporters have been saying for decades, let alone in the days immediately following the uprising out of Gaza.
And I stand by my contention that there was a limited/compartmentalized stand-down and intentional neglect to share information both prior to and during the Hamas incursion.

Interesting “wording”: “UN General Assembly on Palestine will be resumed on December 12, the press service of the General Assembly’s President said.”
Only “Palestine” mentioned??
Probably will result in “Hamas is a terrorist organization” resolution of some sort… then meeting adjourned…
I’ve no expectations of anything less than Israel being bombed to smithereens for the occupation & genocide to cease.

There is no real international law. Only raw power dynamics. Three great powers, a handful of independent regional powers like Iran. The Palestinians have none. Israel, more accurately “the Zionist entity” on the other hand is a true paper tiger, however with nuclear weapons. A lot of folks throw that term around. I don’t use it flippantly. Without continued US backing, it’s unsustainable. Without continued flow of warm bodies, it’s unsustainable. Most of whom are dual nationals and can decide to leave any time. This is why Israel have allowed and even encourages basically anyone from anywhere to declare they are Jewish, pledge allegiance, as long as you get the certificate of approval, you’re clear for takeoff and entitled to the land. Manifest destiny of the 21st century. What these events really exposed is the hollowed and rotten US vassal states in the Muslim world. Saudi, Egypt, and Turkey. The three pillars left standing. Iran is the only indigenous and anti colonial force in the region, along with it’s allies and proxies. Erdogan can makes all the noises he wants, Turkey is owned to it’s core with NATO tentacles buried just as deeply as they are in Germany. Since the 1980 US backed coup. You couldn’t get rid of it if you tried. This is why the national mythology is how it is in Israel by the way. They need warm bodies. The truth is and everyone knows it, the Zionist entity isn’t even religious. That’s just a cover and social control, national mythology which functions as social control. They use their own as pawns, so of course this is how it has to work, these folks are intentionally set in harms way.

simpol.org
the UN can be bypassed and it’s simpol to do
it’s called the simultaneous policy and it basically works like this:
each party (think ‘country’) signs a pledge to act, when and ONLY when, a specified number or list of other parties sign the pledge, too. So no one who signs up is under obligation to do anything unless everyone on the list or the predetermined number for that issue/action winds up signing up, too.
Like this: Hopefully Susan and Mark and Arch and Dun and b and pq will each sign a pledge that says they agree to mail a pretzel to Biden with a note that says I hope you choke to death on this. All of them sign except b (whose mailman lost the invitation to sign). So no one acts. If the mailman finds the note for b and he signs, then all act at once.
China Russia Iran Turkey Syria Lebanon Brazil Venezuela Ireland etc etc etc could in this way pledge to AT MINIMUM deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza stating usa israel interference will be dealt with by forces of all the signatories.
Not saying I know how many countries would need to be signed up. Just proposing using simpol -simultaneous policy – to do what must be done.
separately, sadistic, criminal “israel”, combined with writings of jews who told the truth about judaism, has finally convinced me that the only good jew is an ex-jew. nobody is more surprised about that than i am, but we are where we are, which is awash in dead babies galore, awash in annihilated hospitals, awash in horrors and suffering that every day reach a new zenith of depravity. don’t even bother. i realize there are some good jews. i hope both of them become ex-jews real soon.

Thank you for all your penetrating comments.
But I have to disagree with this one.
In this War on Terror , they made craters in Baghdad 8 meters deep, 10 storeys.
They made sectarian false flag bombs on Mosques and market places.Gen. Betrayus
They created hundreds of prisons in which to rendition/ torture/ brainwash Muslims.
Sexually sbuse men and women in prisons.
They buggered Gadaffi and enslaved the free citizens in Libya, carpet bombing as they went.
They sent BoJo to end negotiations in Ukraine.
They derelicted Syria, housed Al Qaida in concrete bunkers to terrorise civilians.
It’s 100 % obvious that Israel is going to genocide Palestine if Hamas crosses the border fence.
The Qur’an says ‘Seek benefit with patience and prayer, and indeed that is nearly impossible except for those who totally submit to Allah.’
Political Islam wants quick fixes.
Never going to happen. They also have been promised power if they help USUKIS create a Greater Israel. God says in the Qur’an that the Jews will never give you even as much power as the black dot on a date stone.

fyi
former UK ambassador Craig Murray on why not a single nation in the world has invoked the Genocide Convention.
worth a full read.
“….Masks have been ripped off. Almost the entire political Establishment of the West have outed themselves as enthusiastic proponents of a racial supremacism, prepared to give active assistance to a genocide of indigenous people……”
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2023/12/stopping-genocide/
“Every single state in the world has a positive duty to intervene to prevent the Genocide in Gaza now, not after a court has reached a determination of genocide. This is made crystal clear in para 431 of the International Court of Justice judgment in Bosnia vs Serbia:
…This case was specifically on the application of the Genocide Convention. That the ICJ has ruled there is a positive duty on states to act to prevent genocide makes it even more astonishing to me that no state has invoked the Genocide Convention over the blatant genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza. Not least is it puzzling that this action has not been undertaken by Palestine itself, which is a party to the Convention and does have the ability to invoke it…..
But there is something much more profound than that. This feels like a moment so shocking that the entire world is stupefied, not quite knowing how to act. An enormous rift has been exposed in international affairs. Previously, the developed nations had given lip service to the values of international organisations and to the basic concepts that move the UN, such as decolonisation, human rights and conflict resolution.
Suddenly, not only is genocide occurring with a scale and rapidity that is simply stunning – in six weeks in Gaza ten times the number of children have been killed as in two years of war in Ukraine – but the western nations are roaring on a racial extermination that dehumanises its victims. The western political class are systematically silencing internal opposition, and promoting blatant White Power marches thinly disguised as against anti-semitism.
Every developing and Arab state who spoke at the UN session on Monday described Israel in terms of colonial occupation. That is a real shift to plain speaking.
The world has been jolted, suddenly. Masks have been ripped off. Almost the entire political Establishment of the West have outed themselves as enthusiastic proponents of a racial supremacism, prepared to give active assistance to a genocide of indigenous people……”

West Bank near Jordan seriously escalating:
“At least one aged man was wounded in the area to the east of Nablus after Israeli military shelled residential buildings, the TV channel reports, citing the Palestine Red Crescent Society
RABAT, December 11. /TASS/. Violent fighting between Israeli army units and Palestinians are underway in the area of Mount Gerizim to the east of Nablus city on the West Bank of the Jordan River, Al Jazeera television reports.
WIKI for better understanding:
“it is the capital of the Nablus Governorate and a commercial and cultural centre of the State of Palestine, home to An-Najah National University, one of the largest Palestinian institutions of higher learning, and the Palestine Stock Exchange.[3] Nablus is under the administration of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).”
PA economic zone… control center for PLO…
Targeted for destruction by Israel.
“The governorate of Nablus, particularly the villages south of the city, is consistently the most affected by settler attacks in the occupied West Bank every year, followed by Hebron and Ramallah.
The same cities have the highest number of illegal Israeli outposts, which correlates with the high level of violence. Israeli outposts are housing communities with dozens of residential units built outside the borders of a settlement to seize more Palestinian land and “create facts on the ground”.
Confirmation of complete ethnic cleansing, removal, displacement & genocide of every Palestinian held land throughout “region”.
Alastair Crooke did rightly call out “civilization war”.
The problem with the Arab Nations, Iran Turkey et el…
None of them have any reason at all to believe Israel will stop at the “coveted borders”.
I’ve honestly no clue how this will end.
The U.S./Israel international “hand” looks pretty weak to me, but what do I know?
The whole world may just say “fine” “take it” and go back to business.

Living on an infertile land in Palestine is doable. Here is how:
Forevermore, and then some, humanity owes the Palestinians for their struggles. For, we are all Palestinian/Spartacus now.
That debt from humanity can be collected in the form of: a Palestinian never having to lift a finger to continue, if nothing else, LIVING.

Nemesis @55 refers us to David Barret.
Barret is, and I use the word not as abuse but as a description, a fascist. As is the author Myers whom he praises.
Fascists are, for the most part, renegades from socialism who have transferred their hopes from the exploited to the exploiter.
The observation that socialists, such as Trotsky, are children of the Enlightenment who have rejected conservatism is wrong.
The Enlightenment had a number of aspects all of them contradictory of other some aspects of the era, but historically it was contemporaneous with the growth of capitalism and the transformation of imperialism from a means of accumulating loot into a system of commodity production by forced labour.
It was that socio-economic movement which used the Enlightenment to construct an ideology of the society they were building. The ideas were available all that ws needed was to pick and choose the ones needed to justify the system evolving.
Socialism- social-ism- arose as a reaction to the new ideology and the new society. It was profoundly conservative and can only be understood as such.Ideologically it was the polar opposite of the Malthusuan and Ricardian-Millian developments of the ‘Scottish Enlightenment’s espousal of capitalism- exemplified not just in Smith’s Wealth of Nations but in the works of a whole school of what William Cobbett called Scotch Feelosofers.
It is an article of the faith espoused by Myers and Barret that the epochal wrecking ball which has been swung at every society it came across- and that means almost all human societies- known as capitalism, which takes the form of imperialism when it puts its boots on, is the real conservatism.
They do this by defining conservative values as private property (unknown in many societies, known in none in the form currently observed) hierarchies based on wealth and power..Let me quote from Michael Roberts’ most recent blog on Napoleon’s economic policy;
“…Napoleon reckoned that in any society “the abler minority will soon govern the majority and absorb the greater part of the wealth”; as it was human nature: “it is hunger that makes the world move.” As he put it: “Whilst an individual owner, with a personal interest in his property, is always wide awake, and brings his plans to fruition, communal interest is inherently sleepy and unproductive, because individual enterprise is a matter of instinct, and communal enterprise is a matter of public spirit, which is rare…” https://thenextrecession.wordpress.com/
That will do (and Roberts is worth far more attention than it is worth wasting on Barret)-Napoleon, the quintessential wrecker of traditional ways, was uprooting every inherited idea and practice in the name of the very values that fascists claim for conservatism.
Of course if one accepts that the opponents of child labour in coal mines, the theft of public lands by powerful individuals, armed plundering overseas, the prostitution and sale of young women and all the other characteristics of capitalist society, not forgetting its promotion of epidemics through unregulated urbanisation and its pollution of the environment by privileging the interests of capital over those of community-society, are fighting conservative interests rather than defending them against radical affronts to everything that humanity has ever valued or believed in…then.
Then one can call Trotsky a nihilist and socialists a set of people aiming to torpedo all that is enduring in society.
It is no accident that it is among the servants of the oligarchy-based on wealth- the capitalist class, in fact, that we discover the very ‘liberals’ that Barret accuses of being neo-Trotskyists, but who in fact, as Trotsky would have shown them if they knew anything more about him than the name, are exactly what they seem to be, a governing caste working in the interests of the Capitalists whose property they defend by fighting against the advance of the populace and the public interest.

Syria finally responds to air assaults:
BEIRUT, December 11. /TASS/. Syrian air defense assets engaged several Israeli missies in skies over Damascus, a commanding officer of the Syrian Armed Forces told the SANA news agency.
“An aggressive attack against our military positions was made at Monday night, at about 23:05 p.m. [GMT 20:05 p.m.]. The adversary delivered strikes against the capital from the side of occupied Golan Heights,” the spokesman said. “The Syrian air defense managed to repel the attack, downing several enemy missiles,” he noted. Material damage was sustained as a result of firing and there were no casualties among the personnel, the spokesman added.

FYI
Craig Murray declared the Russian SMO illegal and said Russia should not have
reacted to Nato provocation.
There usually duty on all major , winning participants of WW2 to independently prevent the renaissance of Nazism, which Craig had spotted in David Cameron ‘s support of Ukrainian Nazism as long ago as 2010?
It’s totally understandable that someone who actively helped the US colonisation of Eastern Europe, should feel.pain at the reality of colonisation. Land grabs by privatisation, political interferebce , bombing NORDSTREAM, political indoctrination in Russophobic neo-nazism.
Craig Murray knows better than anyone that Eastern Europe was first fractured by Zthe deployment of Al Qaida in Yugoslavia.
So why ischexsqueamish about the deployment of Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine. The US thinks it has consolidated Nato unity in Europe via Ukraine and can now colonise Greater Israel, the project for which 3000 people were murdered in WTC 9/ 11.
I’m sick and tired of butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-my-mouth politicos flagging up things others are doing that they themselves have done. Itctakes one-to-one know one.
Genocides don’t happen because of religious faith. Genocides happen because of World Giants trying to colonise continents like tectonic plates smashing.
International Law didn’t stop the US mcolonising Europe and it won’t stop the genocide of Palestine. What will happen is that the proxy, in this case Eschatalogical Israel , will be destroyed like Islamic State was destroyed and Germany is now being destroyed, once the colonial Behemoth has achieved its geopolitical objectives.
Germany can cry into its ski goggles, and Israel can cry into its prayer shawls.
Netanyahu has been told to announce the Greater Israel from Nile to Euphrates and a lot of people will get genocided while it happens.
Palestinians will at least have achieved martyrdom and paradise which is more than the Washington and London Neocons.
It takes one to know one.

I’ve only seen these 2 reports that give evidence that the “war” is a “war” and not and IDF victory every second:
WASHINGTON, December 9, 2023 –
“The Secretary of State has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Israel of 120mm M830A1 High Explosive Anti-Tank Multi-Purpose with Tracer (MPAT) tank cartridges and related equipment for an estimated cost of $106.5 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on December 8, 2023.
The Government of Israel has requested to buy thirteen thousand nine hundred eighty-one (13,981) 120mm M830A1 High Explosive Anti-Tank Multi-Purpose with Tracer (MPAT) tank cartridges. Also included are publications and technical documentation; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; studies and surveys; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $106.5 million.
The Secretary of State determined and provided detailed justification to Congress that an emergency exists that requires the immediate sale to the Government of Israel of the above defense articles and services in the national security interests of the United States, thereby waiving the Congressional review requirements under Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act, as amended.
The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability. This proposed sale is consistent with those objectives.
Israel will use the enhanced capability as a deterrent to regional threats and to strengthen its homeland defense. Israel will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces.
The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.
This will be a sale from U.S. Army inventory. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.
Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to Israel.
There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.”

BEIRUT, December 10. /TASS/. Hamas’ armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, have destroyed more than 180 Israeli combat vehicles in the Gaza Strip, al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida said.
“Our fighters completely or partially destroyed more than 180 combat vehicles in the past ten days after the end of the humanitarian ceasefire,” he said. “Resistance forces are now at a close distance from the enemy near Beit Lahia, Deir al-Balah, Jabalia, Sheikh Rawdan, al-Zeitun, Khan Yunis, incurring big losses on it.”
“Palestinians are making ambush and detonate mine on the way of Israeli military, conducting sniper and machinegun fire at Israeli forces,” he said. “The enemy is failing at all frontline section and will be completely defeated if it doesn’t stop its aggression.”
That’s all I know, exact deaths of IDF forces ect not published, but these articles tell me Palestinians are putting up a fight.

@ David Cohen,
Delusional religious fantasies count for nothing in a modern world. Judea and Samaria were primitive tribal kingdoms in Palestine and are long gone. Just as Mercia and other ancient kingdoms in the UK are long gone. Religions don’t get rights to land so it matters not a toss if some Jews camped in Palestine 3000 years ago. The Christians ruled Istanbul for more than a thousand years but have no rights to it.
Apart from which, gotta love the madness, but Israeli Zionists are atheists and yet they think God gave them Palestine.
The only borders Israel could ever hope to defend in a court of law remain the UN Mandate of 1947. The Mandate was immoral and illegal so they might not win but they remain the only borders. Everything else including Jerusalem is Occupied Palestine.
The world doesn’t care what Israeli Jews think, they just want the occupation to end and the Palestinians to receive justice and live in freedom. The existing illegal Jewish settlements will provide housing for the 8 million Palestinians in the Diaspora, many of whom will return when Palestine is free. So it won’t be wasted. Jews can stay if they choose but they will be Palestinians.
Israel’s irrational hatred of Palestinians makes one state difficult but the world might impose that option anyway. Once Israel’s economy is destroyed, and it is well on the way following this war, it doesn’t get a choice.
As to Israel founded as a homeland for followers of Judaism, it was always a lie that it was needed. The Zionists invented the concept in 1890’s long before the Nazis appeared and they ran campaigns warning that 6 million Jews would die if their plans for a colony in Palestine was not supported.
More critical, most Jews in the world do not live in Israel, never did and never will and UN Mandated Israel is the most dangerous place a Jew could live. Also one of the nastiest places anyone could live which is why so many young Israelis have fled. They have returned to the countries their parents or grandparents left to colonise Palestine with one of the biggest communities in Berlin.
That is a nice healing touch. They feel safer in Germany than Israel. Think about that. And they are no longer sickened by the evil atrocities the Israeli State commits daily.
You really are in La La Land aren’t you? Why would the Palestinians leave their homeland? Oh, you mean forced transfer. Load them onto trains and trucks. Hang on, hasn’t that been done before? It did not end well.
Israel is insane and its culture debased by 75 years as a murderous occupier. Many of its supporters are also insane.
THERE WILL EITHER BE A TWO STATE SOLUTION OR A ONE STATE SOLUTION AND ISRAEL WON’T GET A SAY IN IT.
Your post does not provoke discomfort, it just makes people feel sorry for you. Like many Israelis and their supporters you need psychiatric help.
Jews have no right to Palestine and never did. No religion has a right to a homeland or self-determination. The 1947 Partition was a mistake. Now we need to fix it. We can accept the partition happened and the European colonists who call themselves Israelis can go back to UN Mandated borders and leave the Palestinians free to live in and defend what is left of their country.
Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea and Israelis will either get to live in a democracy as Palestinians or in their own little State in Palestine called Israel.

There are toddlers in Gaza having arms and legs amputated without anaesthetics because of Israel.
They have bombed the hospitals and refuse to let medicine in. Do Israelis not realise they have smashed the ceiling of evil savagery and the world detests them for it?
Well, everyone is having surgery without anaesthetics but there is something particularly evil about ensuring that happens with children, many of whom are now orphans and have no family at all to comfort them.
Every bomb Israel drops the Government knows will kill and maim hundreds of children. When Israel dropped bombs, as it did regularly, on the Gaza prison in the past it used the evil term, MOWING THE GRASS. To Israelis Palestinians were no more than blades of grass to be regularly kept in check, hopefully culling younger generations by either killing or crippling them, to weaken resistance to Israel’s occupation.
The Israelis consider Palestinians to be subhuman, vermin, insects, as so many have said. They probably do believe if you crush a Palestinian kid it just goes squish like a cockroach and white stuff comes out. No blood or suffering. Only humans have blood and suffering.
Do they hear the screams in Israel? Would they care if they did or would they just rejoice? Does Joe Biden who makes this slaughter possible hear the screams? Would he care if he did? The Norwegian surgeon, Mads Gilbert, who has long worked in the Gaza concentration camp asked that question.
“President Biden: Can you hear me? Can you hear the screams? From Shifa Hospital?”
Dr Mads Gilbert, a solidarity medical worker and longtime volunteer working in Palestinian healthcare, calls out to Western leaders, asking if they hear the screams of Palestinians suffering amidst Israel’s repeated attacks targeting medical facilities in Palestine’s Gaza.
I don’t think he got an answer. No problem though, Israel destroyed the hospital and silenced the screams. The ‘most moral army in the world’or so they call themselves, also left premature babies to die alone in incubators and then to rot and be chewed by stray dogs after they forced all staff to leave at gunpoint.
Who commits such evil? Who allows such evil to be committed? Well, our country does along with too many others.
The next time you see a toddler, imagine what it would be like for that small child to be having one or both arms or legs amputated without anaesthetic. That is happening all the time in Gaza because of the Israeli occupiers and our gutless Government is supporting it. because we are US lackeys and too many are manipulated by the ZIJ agendas…. Zionism, Israel and Judaism.
I would make the point here that Zionism is not Judaism but Israel claims to speak and act for Jews and indeed many support the Zionist State and everything it does. If Judaism does not want to be tainted and implicated in the evils Israel commits then the religion and its followers must categorically separate themselves from the State.
Israel wages war on helpless civilians, nearly half of whom are children. It uses the excuse it is targeting the Palestinian Resistance/Hamas but when bombs are dropped on the most densely populated place on the planet, that is targeting civilians. Israel knows that most of the dead will be women and children as the data has long shown. Around 70% of those killed, maimed and injured are women and children. Israel doesn’t care. Culling the Palestinians is the goal. Actions speak louder than words. Israel not only wants to cull it wants to punish.
Nearly half the population of Gaza are children. Israel is targeting civilians when it knows thousands of children will die or be terribly injured. Gaza is a prison. There is nowhere to run. Israel is bombing homes, hospitals, schools, refugee centres, UN facilities, everywhere that civilians are trying to survive. And it wants the world to believe it is not targeting civilians.
There are 20-30,000 dead already, nearly half of them kids. And there are tens of thousands of maimed and injured people, nearly half of them kids. Women and children so far make up 70% of the dead.
Israel has cut off food, water, fuel, medicine, power and ensured freezing conditions and disease epidemics. And the Israelis want the world to believe they have the most moral army on the planet. Is everyone in Israel insane?
Quote: A badly burned toddler screaming for the mother he doesn’t know is dead – and screaming because doctors do not have enough painkillers to relieve his suffering. An eight-year-old boy whose brain is exposed as bombing damaged parts of his skull. A teenage girl, her eye surgically removed, because every bone in her face is smashed. A three-year-old double amputee, whose severed limbs are laid out in a pink box beside him.
And in the background is the stench of rotting flesh as maggots “creep out of untreated wounds”.
This is the daily reality at the European Hospital inside the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, as described by veteran British war surgeon Tom Potokar, who works for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
While the United Nations warns that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is “apocalyptic”, the Israeli military has expanded a ferocious ground campaign from the north of the besieged territory into the south, where an estimated 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced.

@ David Cohen,
So, you can accept Jews believe a fairy story about Palestine for a thousand years or so without giving up on it, because some Jews came out of what is now Iraq, 3000 years ago and set up camp in Palestine?
But you think that the Palestinians with a 5000 year history, a real history, not religious fairy stories, are going to give up on their homeland and go and live somewhere else?
Why would they? The Palestinians have survived and become stronger and more resilient after nearly 80 years of violent abuse from the Zionists and Jews, beginning with the horrors inflicted on them by the Jewish terrorist gangs, Irgun and Stern before 1947.
They then endured a terrible holocaust, the Nakba, where close to a million were driven out or exterminated with tens of thousands of men, women and children eradicated in massacres by Zionist troops who also ‘wiped from the face of the earth’but not British Mandate maps, 530 Palestinian towns and villages.
And that was followed by 75 years of constant human rights atrocities and war crimes by Israel in order to maintain occupation, colonisation and apartheid along with the continued dispossession, theft of their land and colonisation by illegal Jewish settlers.
You have to be joking? Do your views come from the fact you consider the Palestinians to be less than human and therefore not likely to react as other humans would? You clearly have no understanding of human nature.
The Nakba, the holocaust, in 1947 taught the Palestinians to never leave. Like the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto they have decided to die on their feet instead of live on their knees crushed under the venal Israeli military boot.
The world admires them for their courage, determination and resilience and, if you study the history, despite the atrocities committed against them by Israel, a generally peaceful response to their oppressors.
The remarkable thing is not that October 7 happened but that it did not happen before. Yes, there was a period of extreme violence and terrorism by the Palestinian Resistance in the past, but overall, it was brief.
October 7 was the success it was for the Resistance because the Palestinians are strong and smart. They know their oppressor. They have learned their language and studied their psychology and culture. They are way ahead of the Israelis who have become softer and more stupid.
How can any sane individual think you can torment and torture a people you hold under occupation for three generations and not create ever stronger resistance?
Israel was never going to win this colonial war and the latest genocidal onslaught just brings justice for Palestine closer.
A lot of Americans are sick of Jewish/Israeli/Zionist manipulation of their country and their Government and the world in general is sick of the ‘we are victims eternal’ flagwaving by Jews as they inflict genocide on others. More American Jews will dump Israel because they do not want to be tainted by association and caught in the backwash of its evil.
Younger generations don’t know or don’t care what happened to some European Jews nearly a century ago and young American Jews are more American than Jewish and will make the choice to reject Israel.
The Zionist State defames Judaism and its followers and presents the greatest threat to Jews since WWII. They are the realities. Watch this space.

@149 bevin
I will make the correction for you that it is Kevin Barrett I cite whom I believe is a Muslim convert.
Admittedly, most of what someone would cite at unz could be labeled as fascist, but in all honesty, bevin, I have no idea what that word means anymore.
I have already deconstructed how it was a mistake for Putin to appeal to the west by identifying Ukraine as Nazi or in the hands of Nazis, just as I think it is a mistake to label the Jewish-state as Nazi. In both cases, Ukraine and Israel, we are dealing with the Jewish powers-that-be. How does one deconstruct these language-games? You have to go back to WW2 and before where the Soviet-state which was given everything it needed by the capitalist west to defend itself against Nazi-Germany. The question has been brought-forth: why? Hitler had given so many ways for the great powers to deescalate, including courting Great Britain by emphasizing Germany’s desire for the Maritime-empire of England to remain a global power. Germany begged the west to see a common foe in Soviet-Russia, yet every atrocity discovered to be from Stalin and his people were silenced in western media, and Uncle Joe knew that his desire for Finland would have to be curtailed on account of popular sentiment that favored the small, resilient country on the Soviet Frontier. Just like Israel is being pushed now in the west to “wrap it up,” lest popular sentiment REALLY turn against Israel, Stalin knew that Finland would have to wait. Stalin could not make a pariah out of the Soviet Union. Just as with today, popular sentiment still matters and a domestic population is as much the prize of Internationalist Propagandists as foreign spoils.
America is not a Nationalist country. To the contrary, Germany was. Is Ukraine a Nationalist country? I would say no. In the article cited above, Mr. Barrett understands Russia as the nationalist bulwark against an Internationalist Cosmopolitanism. Would anyone doubt that Ukraine is actually secretly just at the behest of the Internationalist Clique that runs the west? Who here would say such a thing? Indeed, if there is an actual Nationalist Force to challenge the reach of Internationalists, you will find it in Russia, not Ukraine, which is actually just a silly stooge at the utter whim of Globalism.
Somewhere in time, the U.S. became the remnant Soviet-Empire and Russia became the Christian-Muslim Nationalist entity. Truth inverted. But the west can not openly say that it is communist…yet it cryptically advances its politics in every arena through media and the corporations that it owns. And bevin, do we need to remind anyone here that the media is entirely owned by Jews? That our government is entirely infiltrated by Jews and crypto-Jews? So how do we convince the retarded Goy that we are needed abroad? We need to protect Jews and Democracy for Christianity, you know.
It remains to be seen if what is left of the reasonable west can muster the will to call the forces affronting humanity what they are: Jewishness, not Nazism.
Does this mean that I advocate Nazism? No. Hitler’s desire for leg-space in the Ukraine, regardless of any sympathizers’ claim that this would have been beneficial for both Germany and Russia, is too chauvinist for my taste. As an American, I just want my country to stop poking about abroad and let the chips fall where they may. If our economy implodes…who cares? As long as it is not even more hyper-centralized under communism, I view the collapse of the American empire as a good thing. A more natural and inward way of living can emerge from it.
Neocon think-tanks always use the phrase “Inward-lookingness” as a sign of decline and so these mouthpieces will always encourage the American Golem to keep its foot abroad.

Just remember when the US say’s that it is fine to slaughter innocent civilians, there are LOTs of American and Jewish civilians allover the world and eventually the world is going to agree that indeed it is OK to kill civilians. As in every thing they do the US hasn’t thought this through even a little bit.

This is what I’ve been warning the Hasbara movement about for years:
Be careful of the arguments you make in favour of Isreal’s actions.
Those arguments can be used against ‘Isreal’ and Jews just as well.
Only a fool ‘wins’ an argument for mass murder of Palestinians.

I haven’t noticed that this has been posted before. If it has sincerest apologies.
Skwawkbox reports that Richard Silverstein’s Tikkun Olam news site, reports that:
“srael ordered Refaat Alareer’s assassination after he derided Israeli claim of babies burned in an oven as hoax. He was right, but died for it.
“Refaat was a Palestinian poet and professor. It’s rare that countries assassinate poets. Not just murder them in wartime, but intentionally assassinate them…
“But Refaat was an unusual combination of teacher and activist. He not only taught his students Palestinian poetry. He also taught them Hebrew poetry. For this, he was profiled in the New York Times: In Gaza, a Contentious Palestinian Professor Calmly Teaches Israeli Poetry. And the Times published an op-ed by him as well: My Child Asks, ‘Can Israel Destroy Our Building if the Power Is Out?’
“Unlike Israel’s educational system, which promotes a triumphalist ideological indoctrination, Alareer’s teaching of Hebrew poetry analyzed and appreciated the beauty of the language, but critiqued that ideology underpinning it. This clearly unnerved the Times editors, presumably pressured by one of alphabet soup of pro-Israel media watchdog groups (CAMERA, MEMRI, Honest Reporting, etc), and published a “correction” to the profile.
“He responded to them (unfortunately they did not offer a full quotation of what he wrote):
“…He denied that there was a “substantial change” in his teaching and said that showing parallels between Palestinians and Jews was his “ultimate goal.” But he said that Israel used literature as “a tool of colonialism and oppression” and that this raised “legitimate questions” about Mr. Amichai’s poem.
“Apparently, this sort of social-political-ideological analysis of literature, a method taught at almost all educational institutions, troubled these editors. Instead, their correction implied he was a propagandist, rather than an academic professor…
“I broke the story here about Israel’s security cabinet issuing the Amalek Directive to assassinate six senior Hamas leaders and their families. It also similarly targeted specific journalists and their families. The IDF has murdered 80 journalists suggesting that it is deliberately targeting them for execution. This is a war crime.
“An Israeli security source confirms my suspicion that the cabinet ordered Refaat’s execution, because his joke marked him as being a member of the tribe of Amalek. An eternal enemy of the Jewish people. He was no such thing of course.
“He was a poet, a teacher who loved literature. He was also a champion of his people. He was an implacable enemy of injustice. For that he died. Along with him, Israel killed his brother, sister and their four children. It knew it would them along with the intended target. But killing entire families is now the Israeli modus operandi…
“Refaat was displaced multiple times during this war and ended up at his sister’s home along with his parents, wife and children. A few days ago, Refaat moved with his wife and children to an UNRWA school in al-Tufah neighborhood in Gaza according to his family.
“However, a close friend of Refaat’s told Euro-Med Monitor that he had received an anonymous phone call from someone who identified himself as an Israeli officer and threatened Refaat that they knew precisely the school where he was located and were about to get to his location with the advancement of Israeli ground troops.
“While the credibility of the threat itself is unclear, it contributed to prompting Refaat to move back to his sister’s apartment, believing it was more concealed than an open and overcrowded school where it would have been difficult to hide.
“For weeks since the start of this war, Refaat has been receiving numerous death threats and hateful messages from Israeli accounts on social media after prominent public figures [Bari Weiss, among others] singled him out for harassment and incitement.
“In 2014, Israel bombed Refaat’s home in Shejaiya and killed over 30 of his and his wife’s families.”
In other news Skwawkbox reports that yesterday’s march for Gaza in Liverpool was the biggest yet and that it was addressed by Jeremy Corbyn and Len McCluskey, the former leader of Britain’s largest Trade Union. UNITE (or the TandGWU as we call it.)

Disgusting.
I love the repeated Zionist claim that a one state solution is ‘unfeasible.’ You know, southern slave owners said the exact same thing after the US Civil War. “Yes, I agree with you, I hate slavery TOO, but if we give the slaves equal rights, they’re going go berserk–and no one wants that!”
I wonder how the Zionists are going to feel when the majority of the world population, their non-Jewish friends and neighbors and business partners, no longer think of Israelis as the victims of a genocide, but the perpetrators of one? It’s happening already and the hasbara isn’t working anymore. I feel bad for the Jewish people I know (the Zionists, the ones with no ideological connection to Israel are obviously blameless), because they’re already pooping their pants thinking that everyone hates Israel and the world is out to get them. This is WITH nearly the entire media and political class doing everything they can to help Israel. But that’s already cracking. WaPo and NYT are as Zionist as can be (see recent article in FAIR), and even THEY are criticizing Israel, simply because they started to lose so much credibility. If things keep going as they are, what do you think is going to happen a year from now, or two? 50,000 Palestinian civilians might be dead, and there’s a good chance that American Zionists with the ‘We Stand with Israel–Now and Forever’ are going to be begging their Israeli friends to start thinking about how to accomplish land return.

Palestine Aches
The dead have silent teeth and empty throats,
they have no voice with which to speak, to cry
of all the horrors they have seen and been and
known; to call for justice, freedom from the
power of those who kill to claim what is not
theirs, the land of others, who suffocate children
in waves of dust and shredded metal moments,
where blood and tears and destiny are driven
deep into the waiting earth; dressing broken
fragments of their lives, their souls, their
hearts, that costuming of evil which war does
primp and posture into place, for those who
are the victims, for those who cannot speak,
and for whom the only hope can be for others,
that their throats are not empty, their teeth
are not silent, their words are not crushed
beneath the boot of evil and injustice and
military might, and that in the darkened
quietness of this awful, suppurating wound,
their only hope is that the voices of the living
will be speaking out for those who lie strewn,
fleshed like scattered crops, in that harvest
which bleeds and grieves and slowly seeds
the fields of future justice in aching Palestine.

Nemesis calling
Your remarks abouut Hitler’s pre War policy can be answered very easily: as you say, and as he said in a decade’s worth of speeches and threats he saw it as his life’s work to destroy the Soviet Union, because he and his sponsors hated Communism.
From a German point of view this was an irrational aim. Then as now, and as it had been in Bismarck’s day, the natural focus of German interests was towards alliance with its fellow continental power to the east. This was a focus all the leaders of the Bolshevik party understood and encouraged: hence Rapallo, hence the long standing co-operation between the General Staff and the Red Army. The logical course for a German nationalist to pursue involved deepening those military relationships into the financial and industrial relationships that the Soviet Union desperately sought and needed and was ready to reward generously, throughout the entire pre WWII period.
So Hitler was not a Nationalist in the sense that he sacrificed the national interests of the German people- so oppressed by Versailles-in order to please reactionary junkers, ideological industrialists and American capitalists and financiers.(All of whom supported his party -that’s politics under capitalism. The demagogue as creature of a ruling class.)
For the people who brought Hitler to power hated Communism. And not because of the alleged atrocities spotted from glasshouses- the only real ones of which took place in the mid to late 1930s- but because it threatened their hoarded riches.
Hitler and his party understood that. And their pathetic compromise involved pretending that it was only because of Jews that the Capitalist class was unpatriotic, ruthless exploitative and indifferent to the national interest.
“America is not a Nationalist country.”
No it is not in the sense that it does not promote the interests of its inhabitants-the members of the nation. It does claim however that defending the wealth and power of its ruling class is a project to which the nation willingly lends its support. It’s a claim that rings more hollow every day- but until the people rise up and do something about it , it is going to be repeated as nauseam.
“Is Ukraine a Nationalist country?”
It is a country run by ‘nationalists’ (enthusiasts for the nantional tongue which isn’t even , as Irish was, a real language), most of whom are agents of other nations, in the sense that their claim to nationalism is that they hate the foreigners that their sponsors abroad (also foreigners) allow them to hate (Not Poles or Letts but Russians).
In doing so they act against every interest of the nation either as a whole or in its forty million discrete parts. Nationalism like the Bandera-ites and the Hitlerites always ends up the same way with the destruction of the nation. And the process of that destruction invariably involves the mass sacrifice of most of its military aged citizens except for the Nationalists whose lives are too valuable to waste in trenches and raids. Valuable that is, not to the remnants of the nation they leave in their wake, but to their wealthy bosses, most of whom are nowadays indifferent to religion but who, in the past tended to be Presbyterian, Anglican, Quaker or Catholic.

@Nemesis Calling,
When the shadow speaks.
How denial of our human capacity for evil brings destruction.
ROSLYN ROSS
2 DEC 2023
Perhaps the greatest teaching is, Forgive them for they know not what they do.
We are all of us broken, mended and broken again.
It is something we need to remember when we see others acting in ways which can only be described as evil, i.e. that which is the opposite to life. Whether it is an individual or a State like Israel, which, at this time is inflicting the most horrific genocide on the Palestinians it holds under occupation.
This world is always about striving for balance because balance increases the chances of survival on all counts. That drive applies not just physiologically but psychologically and our psyche is constantly engaged in a quest for balance.
If we go too far in one direction we will activate the archetypal energies for the opposite. The goal is always balance. Trying to be too good leads to darkness erupting. just as believing we are good and evil only exists in others, will bring the hounds of hell galloping down the road.
This is why so many religious leaders fail so terribly at times. They have been captured by the archetype of ‘goodness’ and have ignored the sleeping dog of evil by their side. The power of the unconscious will always be far greater than that of the conscious no matter how well-meaning and good our intentions might be.
We see the results of shadow domination in our own lives from time to time and in the world around us.
The Israeli Zionist State is a classic example of shadow projection which results from a sense of being special and unique, both as humans and as victims. The experiences of many Jews in Europe at the hands of the Nazis was, with the help of the Zionists, entrenched into the Jewish psyche finding fertile ground with thousands of years of Judaic stories and teachings about how badly Jews have been treated. And that is not to deny that, like many religions, Jews were often badly treated. Some in fact like the Cathars did not survive.
The problem does not arise from remembering our past, acknowledging our history and honouring our suffering. The problem is when we tell ourselves that our suffering was and is unique and we are forever victims. This elevation of the self because of suffering in the often distant past is not unique to followers of Judaism. It is a common human response to injustice and trauma. The Irish and Armenians carry a sense of eternal victimhood because of historical traumas. However, unlike the Israelis they have not sought to inflict their victimhood on others. To be fair to the Israelis this exploitation and elevation of victimhood is something pushed by Zionism which, as an atheist colonial political movement, cannot be said to respect or represent Judaism. Zionism exploits Jewish beliefs and teachings for its own ends. And that is why it is up to Jews to bring the Zionist State to account. Until that happens Judaism and its followers will be tainted by association. Understanding the power the Zionists have over Jews is a vital first step.
And that means understanding a national psyche of victimhood and what it does and what it means for the society.
A victim is always innocent. A victim is never wrong. A victim cannot be challenged on their victimhood. All of these beliefs were the foundation both of Zionism, an atheist political movement, and of the Israeli State. Being able to hang all evil onto others, non-Jews in general and the Germans in particular, fitted neatly with ancient Judaic teachings that they were the victims of others.
I remember standing at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem many years ago and the guide translated what people were saying. It was a litany recited of wrongs done to Jews going back thousands of years. In psychological terms such inability to process and move beyond wrongs would be considered unhealthy and even more unhealthy to glorify if not deify the experiences of followers of the religion in an ancient past.
To fail to process trauma means we never evolve beyond it and we never heal. We remain forever in that suppurating wound even though it is an injury experienced not by us but by members of our religion long ago. To carry such a wound also gives a sense of exceptionalism and superiority when we believe that no other humans have suffered as we have suffered. When we see ourselves as unique we have already disconnected from others, those who do not belong to our group; those who do not share our tribal camp where we believe safety is assured.
This was the sort of belief the Zionists exploited with their demand that Jews must always be in power in UN Mandated Israel and a majority. A victim must always have an enemy and all evil must be projected out onto that enemy. The Palestinians were never going to be anything other than the scapegoat, the coathanger on which Israeli colonists could forever hang their many-coloured coat of evil, disowned utterly and projected unconsciously onto others.
However as Carl Jung so insightfully explained, what is repressed does not die but remains in the darkness of the unconscious and becomes ever more powerful. The human capacity for evil denied by victims will become bestial in nature and will be expressed by them unconsciously and reflected in the world around them. In such a state of psychological blindness the worst atrocities can be committed against others and literally, never seen. Just as trauma can create literal blindness, so can denial create emotional and psychological blindness.
Myths also reside in the unconscious and emerge in their own time. The popular Judaic story of Samson, is highly symbolic of the State of Israel. Samson was deeply flawed but incredibly powerful. He lost his power, was blinded and ultimately ‘triumphed’ by destroying himself and everyone else. Samson became a victim and died as a victim.
Samson is the biblical Hercules, a man of super-human strength who nonetheless could not escape tragedy. Samson’s story is found in the Book of Judgeschapters 13-16. He is the last of the major judges who led the Israelites, but he is hardly an ideal role model or savior. Samson breaks vows, marries outside of the people of Israel twice, and functions more as a vigilante than a leader.
The text concludes: “Those he killed at his death were more than those he had killed during his life” (Judges 16:30
In psychological and emotional terms, victimhood becomes a sanctuary and a prison. It excuses everything and allows anything. A victim cannot relate to concepts of morality, ethics, integrity or compassion because all of those qualities can only ever rest within them and be owed only to them. Victimhood sucks energy from everything and creates a narcissistic vacuum where fear rules and power is demanded.
But the retreat into victimhood always destroys those who believe they are victims and those around them. Just as it did with Samson. Israelis cannot see the suffering of the native people of the land they occupy and continue to colonise because that would diminish their own suffering and challenge their sense of victimhood and exceptionalism. For most, all of this is unconscious. They are imprisoned in the Temple of victimhood, wearing only a flimsy cloth of denial, as they rage against the world around them.
If Israelis had had true friends they would have been gently but powerfully helped to face their own darkness, their own lies and their own evil and they would never have been able to commit the atrocities they have against the Palestinians. The genocidal horrors of Israel’s foundation would have been addressed and redressed and they could have moved forward accountable, clear-eyed and compassionate. But that did not happen.
Israelis have not only betrayed themselves but they have been betrayed by their supporters, Jews, Zionists, Christians, those who call themselves friends, but who have enabled Israelis to debase themselves in the name of military colonial domination, bigotry and elitist victimhood.
Just as Israel failed to know its own capacity for evil, so it is important for all of us to recognise that the evil Israel expresses is also ours to own. The world at large has played a major part in what the Israeli State was and is and all that it has done. None of us can point the finger and all of us must react with grace and compassion to those tormented in this terrible struggle and that is Palestinians and Israelis alike.

Gosh, is this male logic and “pragmatism”?
Or Jewish logic?
I expect better!
Of course it is much more logical, and pragmatic, to relocate 700,000 illegal settlers, many of them quite recent arrivals, than 2.5 million Gazans with deep roots in the land of Palestine.
Repatriating settlers to friendly countries such as their original homes in Brooklyn, NY, also goes a long way toward combining repatriation and reparation of property to its owners or at least their own tribe, the Palestinians.
Everyone should watch the documentary film Tantura:

Warning: Do not watch if you want to gain a more positive opinion of Israelis. Most of the veterans interviewed are quite despicable, and the whole society appears to be in total denial and quite psychopathic.
The settlers have had a nice break, paid for to a great extent by the USA, but the party’s over. The smart ones will leave of their own accord—no doubt are doing so already. Maybe accompanied by Red Cross personnel and filmed by MGM (cue film linked above about the destruction of Tantura). Funny, that rings a bell . . .

@ED
Re: numbers of IDF dead. We know Israel lies through its teeth. They are admitting to 5000 severely wounded so the figure is probably 10,000 injured. The ratio generally goes or went on a basis of 8 injured to every dead soldier. So probably 1-2000 dead soldiers for the injury rate. It could be more. There is no way Israel would admit true figures. And to be fair, in a war, who would.
Israel’s problem is it is a tiny little country where most adults are soldiers, either in the army imposing occupation, or as reservists. Kill, injure or remove thousands of civilians and you cripple the economy. Do it long enough and you destroy the economy. With boycotts also having an impact, the reality is Israel cannot afford this war.
One presumes the latest probably lies about hundreds of Hamas fighters, who all look like soft shopkeepers, surrendering is to pave the way to Israel lying itself out of this war. There will of course by a horrific genocidal bombardment before it exits but that is nothing new. And all that does is make sane people of conscience in the world, just hate Israelis even more.

LOL. A great example of “pretending to be thoughtful” [strokes chin].
Actually, it is quite likely that Israel has its greedy eyes on Ukraine and has done all along. Now it looks like that bird ain’t gonna fly. Settlers had better go home to NYC, or Uganda, or the Jewish oblast that has been prepared for them. Holiday camp on the Med is coming to an end. See the film Tantura.

Question RE:
The “40 beheaded israeli babies” claim:
While the claim of “beheaded babies” has been shown to be a media lie created by the IDF, injected into the MSM by i24News and propagated by Western MS like CNN, British Tabloids and then confirmed by IDF spokesman and Biden himself, I have no idea how the number “40” entered the psychotoxin mix:
Does anyone know where the number 40 came from exactly and at which point it entered the narrative?

“The Russia China joint statement was about destroying the US empire, the empire of lies.”

Israel is also a state of lies. It is built and maintained by suppression of the truth about the Nakba. the word is taboo within Israel. Israel thinks it is the more moral country on earth. They are of course dreaming. It is a four-demensional lie.
To see how the creation and maintenance of an alternative “moral” reality is done, watch the film Tantura. Israel is a totalitarian state that has constructed on the back of its ridiculous “original” origin story that the land was given to them by Yahweh a secondary but equally important fable of the pure, moral creation of the State of Israel.
Two major lies form the basis of the State of Israel.
These are not the only lies that keep Israel psychically afloat, but the two most important ones.

Thx???

In the spirit of Advent, I have been trying to listen more and be more charitable.
I read your post to me and I assume that something in you was ticked off about my lack of scapegoating the Nazis for sole responsibility for WW2. Or for not crying for the Jews who died then.
Why should I cry just for the Jews?? I cry for all victims of tribal violence, not just the Jews. But I am not that naive to understand an aspect of determinism in geopolitics.
Obviously, what is at bottom of all conflict is an aversion to the universal. Tribal envy. World Jewry pulled the rubber-band back so far that it snapped back and gave birth to a cataclysm. Does it appear to be the same phenomenon rearing its ugly head in this current iteration or state of events? I would say it most certainly is.

They watch commenters for their interests and passions and try to engage them.

Id, I admire your poems. I see them as a way of coping, your personal way. Do not, even if you are not interested, accuse others of such motivation. We each cope with the horror in our own way. I pray. And I look for commonalities in early Greek philosophy, as I have been doing. Please read what I just added to the open forum on Sunday’s one. I am not trying to derail anything. Sorry to be OT here; apologies to all.

a propos the lies of Israel –
I do not know if the speech by Chris Hedges on 12/06 “The Genocide in Gaza” was linked on MoA, but it is very good to hear about the ‘small lies, big lies and huge lies’ coming out of Israel over decades.

@170 bevin
Basically, Ukraine will never exhibit nationalism because their elite will never look out for the common good. They will do the bidding of either the west or Russia. But, will their lot improve substantially under Russia’s guidance and even be allowed to explore some degree of sovereignty so long as their tribal instinct of Russophobia is kept in check? Absolutely.
Ukrainians are suffering under a deluded spell of false nationalism. Under the west’s guidance, they exhibit no agency and yet are as mad as hornets. But thrashing about will never grant them a nation of their own. The Ukrainian powers that be are mere sellsword warlords for a greater globalism.
That is not nationalism and therefore can not be compared to the actual potent agency of pure Nazism under Germany that threatened Jewish-finance.
There is a big difference for those with care enough to look.
Again though, the average German benefitted greatly from Nazi policies and the fact remains that Hitler tried to deescalate with the great powers. Hitler sensed correctly that he was being encircled and was tortured by the thought that he could not convince saner minds in the west that he was not their enemy.
Hitler did make mistakes, I am sure, but I do subscribe to the thesis that Stalin’s Soviet was not a sleeping Colossus caught flat-footed by Barbarossa. There is ample evidence, suppressed though it may be that Hitler had good reason to suspect a conspiracy against Germany including the Soviet Union.
But we have been through this before. Best wishes this advent season. Thx for keeping it civil. I will let this be my last argumentative post on MoA and will take a back seat to solely reading and praying for the Palestinians.

Israeli Army: 424 soldiers killed since the beginning of Gaza war, 12 Dec

It sounds like a Jewish propaganda site to me. I think the number of IDF killed is much higher.
Posted by: ED | Dec 11 2023 2:33 utc | 171
Of the little over 900 named Israeli dead for Oct7 , over 400 were military, mostly officers and NCO’s. In just one incident in Gaza, Hamas destroyed a group of sixty or so IDF, first with mines and finishing off those who survived the mines with rifles ect. There have been other smaller ambushes of IDF troops, along with the ongoing destruction of armoured vehicles. Early Israeli photos showed Israeli troops and armour all without cover on the narrow bulldozed strips. All sitting ducks. That may have changed a bit now as the Israeli forces don’t appear to be trying to bulldoze wide clear strips as the move into the high density urban areas.

” Thus, Jewish leftists who once advocated internationalism for gentile nations were forced to come to terms with the implications of this ideology for their own nationalist sentiments ”
Meretz the Israeli Labour Party hasn’t changed its opposition to Zionism as part of its principled hatred of all nationalism.
Maybe , like the English Labour Party the ALT Right, quasi Fascists like Starmer , silencer of Assange, Zionist hijackers did a coup.
It’s totally absurd to claim that people of the Left transformed into people of the Far Right. Politics doesn’t work like that. The Peeps carry on voting for what they believe in while the coup gangsters implement the opposite. Eventually the coup lies are so toxic that the support base leaves. This where we are now with Starmer.
It’s pure sophistry to claim that one belief system morphed into another.
There’s plenty of Fascists in political Islam, but that doesn’t change Islam.
It simply means that the business owning, mortgage eye-watering, Muslim Capitalists left Islam for a different ideology that protects their capital.
This genocide in Gaza has been a massive spiritual shock to British capitalist
Muslims because the place of Fascist hate where the Zionists have ended up today in Gaza is clearly the identical road as their own. Fuelled by hatred of the British Raj, the Tory fascists in power are grooming them to genocide the British people.
The slogan for Unity FM, the local Muslim Radio station is ” Taking over. The epitome of Culture “. But by culture, they don’t mean aesthetics, they mean Asian Nationalism .
It’s a massive wake up call for them, because they can see how the West is coralling them into Fascism. Whoops when that happens , MI5 has eradicated WESTERN ISLAM.
It’s an ill wind that blows no good.

Ukraine is not a nation: that’s the problem with that nationalism before it starts. It is an artificial construct from the beginning. Most of The Ukraine is a part of Russia. And the Bandera-ites know it- that is why they are using such brutal and over the top methods to eradicate Russian culture. It is also why they want to use English as the second language.
Galicia has always had a different sort of history than Kiev and the east. Lemburg was a major trade hub in the early medieaval period, hence its German influenced culture and large Jewish population. And then, while Potemkin and Samuel Bentham ( a stretch but he has to be mentioned if only for housing his brother and building the first panopticon on a Dnieper estate he managed) were building New Russia Galicia was part of Poland- the highly exploited part.
Anyway I don’t think that you can compare Russian or German nationalism with the Ukrainian version that now looks inevitably to be forgotten before it learned to talk, but after it had learned the tantrum throwing art.
I’m sure that we all hope that things are going to calm down over Christmas- it will be interesting to see whether the Ben Gvir’s and other Christ haters double up the killing on Christmas day.

Chris Hedges, and a line from W.H. Auden’s very famous poem, September 1, 1939.
Hedges write regularly and publishes it all over at Bob Scheer’s website:
https://scheerpost.com/2023/12/08/chris-hedges-the-evil-israel-does-is-the-evil-israel-gets/
Chris Hedges: The Evil Israel Does is the Evil Israel Gets
Israel’s settler colonial project perpetuates the cycle of violence against the indigenous inhabitants of historic Palestine. Palestinians have been forced to speak back in the language Israel speaks.
“….Israel’s genocide in Gaza is rearing a new generation of enraged, traumatized and dispossessed Palestinians who have lost family members, friends, homes, communities and any hope of living ordinary lives. They, too, will seek retribution. Their small acts of terrorism will counter Israel’s ongoing state terror. They will hate as they have been hated. This lust for vengeance is universal. After World War Two, a clandestine unit of Jews who served in the Jewish Brigade of the British Army, called “Gmul,” – Hebrew for “Recompense” – hunted down former Nazis and executed them.
“I and the public know/What all schoolchildren learn,” W.H. Auden wrote. “Those to whom evil is done/Do evil in return.”…..”

When a Jew ends up like our David Cohen supporting the Holocaust of Palestinians, he has left Judaism and entered Nationalism.
Personally , I believe that there is a much larger core of left-wing anti-Nationalism in Israel exactly as there is in Britain as demonstrated by 2019 support for Jeremy Corbyn.
But the smoke and mirrors of elections changed by algorithms has created an illusion of universal Tory Fascism / Nationalism in Britain.
This is where I believe Alistair Crooke is disingenuous. Since when have brassed opinion polls been evidence for anything.
Kick outside closet Fascists and talk with the Jewish voices of reason.

Quote: Israel does NOT have the resources to sustain itself: of course, perpetual growth isn’t possible because there aren’t infinite resource; but, some countries can keep going on for a lot longer- Israel is not one of them.
Correct. Unlike apartheid South Africa which was independent and resource-rich, the Israelis are a tiny entity without natural resources, and which would end in a week if the airports were closed.
Israel sells stuff like weapons and technology but plenty of countries make weapons and technology and if the Zionist State disappeared it would not be noticed.
Boycotts have increased since Israel’s genocide and there will be sanctions from some countries. Turn off the money taps, ban Israelis from participating internationally in anything and like South Africa, before long the economy is in ruins.
Israel’s other weakness is that it simply does not have a big army and while most adult civilians are reservists they are poorly trained. Even the better trained ones are trained in maintaining occupation and controlling unarmed civilians, the sick, the old, women and children most of the time.
And since much of its army are civilians who need to work to keep the economy afloat, Israel simply cannot afford a long war or to have so many of them crippled or dead.
And 75 years of elitist, racist hubris that Israelis are smart and Palestinians are subhuman has lulled them into a state of bigoted stupidity. The Palestinian Resistance is running rings around them and certainly did on October 7.
Life as a brutal occupier and violent coloniser debases a culture. Israel has been rotting from within for a very long time. One could argue, thanks to her supporters, many of whom live safely far away and simply promote the horrors of the Israeli State.

I should have said most of the extremist illegal Jewish settlers are American. They make up about 15% apparently, or they did in 2021. Send them home and when Palestine is free the rest might be happy to remain as Palestinians.

Casualties ?
If they admit to 424 KIA, then the real figure could be 4,000. TBF note – the Nortjern Front has also seen heavy fighting for 2 months now.
Likud can not admit they are losing militarily. Already wealthy Isrselis have been voting sigh their feet in droves – over 500,000 Israeli‘s have left in the last 65 days.

Other such “modern mindset” word salad manipulation of responsibility.
