Why are the Houthis wasting time and resources attacking foreign ships when they have a civil war to fight?

“Israel tells the US..”
Or the angloamerican stooge tells the US what the angloamericans already want to do.
Posted by: petergrfstrm | Dec 19 2023 9:34 utc | 1
This, absolutely. However, it doesn’t pay to get stuck on what the bossees WANT to do, or say they want to do, becaus what really counts is what they are ABLE to do. The US can certainly attack Yemen. However, they can’t do it with impunity. The US can start a ‘limited nuclear war’ but they can’t keep it limited.
The US isn’t the only actor in the region with capabilities. If they attempt to ‘push Hezbollah’ back, Hezbollah CAN sink US ships, hit US bases in Iraq and KSA and Syria with missiles and drones, and make Haifa look like Gaza.
The Houthi can sink US ships, and keep the Red Sea closed to commercial shipping.
The Iranians can do both of these things simultaneously, rapidly, and on a large scale that includes all of Israel, and can stop the export of oil through the Persian Gulf.
The US cannot prevent any of these responses, it can only react to them. Short of nuclear war, none of the possible responses lead to a win for US interests. Nuclear war isn’t a win for anyone.
One hopes that underneath the Neocon/Neoliberal posturing there are some reasonably intelligent people who have some desire to live to a ripe old age, but this is by no means guaranteed. US escalation can only lead to disaster for the US in one form or another.

I see nobody mentioned that Ansarallah has said the shipping interdiction would end promptly upon the cessation of the Gaza Siege. No need for any Coalition of the Killing naval force, just the enforcement of LEGAL HUMANITARIAN NORMS in Gaza.
That was a good observation, but I am afraid that the ZioWest has no interest in obeying any norms in Gaza, let alone humanitarian ones.

Thanks for your reply. I’m not at all surprised to read the Chinese and I are on the same wavelength regarding this issue–to solve the Red Sea Issue, the fundamental problem must be solved–end the Gaza Siege. Global Times editorial, “Can the US-led joint patrols defuse the Red Sea alert? Key excerpts:

The interests involved in Red Sea shipping are so extensive that it is not wrong to characterize the current issues facing the Red Sea as an “international challenge.” Therefore, the thinking and approach to solving these issues cannot be unilateral, one-way, or simplistic. Houthi forces claimed that their position was not subject to negotiation until Israel ceases military operations in Gaza and allows humanitarian aid to enter. Analysts widely believe the situation in the Red Sea reflects the butterfly effect in the realm of international politics and economics, with Houthi attacks on commercial ships being a manifestation of the spillover effects of the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict. This once again confirms that in the era of globalization, no local conflict can truly be contained within its “local” boundaries….
Since the US recognizes that resolving the Red Sea crisis requires a “collective action,” the international community’s stance on the fundamental Palestine-Israel issue is very clear. The UN General Assembly has clearly expressed this through two overwhelming votes, which call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. The US cannot stand against the international community and demand its cooperation. To avoid further escalation of the spillover effects of the Palestine-Israel conflict, the key is to return to the fundamental position of peacefully resolving the issue. Specifically, to defuse the “alert” in the Red Sea, there is probably no better choice than genuinely promoting a Palestine-Israel ceasefire.

The entire editorial is a gem, so much so that I’m republishing it at my substack.

Israel ‘should’ve told families “you will keep your mouths shut or we will shut them for you. You will not interfere with our management of this war”‘
Jonathan Pollard, a former U.S. Navy intelligence officer who served 30 years in prison after being convicted of spying for Israel, offered the opinion that the Jewish state should have locked up the families of October 7 hostages, thus swatting away any hindrances from prosecuting its war against Hamas to the fullest.

in 2009 I was in Syria in Aleppo. My friend -hew works in Riyadhand I went to a local museum and saw a cemetery stone with a Swastika that our guide told us was 7,500 year old.
Later we want to a Catholic church that was financed by Theodosius the Great in 380. The monk, who spoke good English , gave us a tour of the small, but elegant church and he bragged that there had been a Mass held there for 52,000 consecutive Sundays.
After that we retired to the Hotel Baron that Lawrence the Great stayed at in 1917; along with Pasha Kemal , Nassar and De Gaulle had also stayed there. We had a few drinks and declared it a wonderful day.
Four years later when I was watching TV in Canada during the ISIS assaults on Aleppo I noticed that the church was gone-destroyed by the US/Israel (Saudi too I think) sponsored ISIS.
All the shit that had gone on in the Levant in the last 1,700 years and now it was gone.
I felt like crying.

So we that USA is actually the dog, the bitch, the leashed gholem, of the globalist project and not the shitty colonial project falsely known as “Israel” which is not an “imperial beach head”. The parties not officially unboard are there in spirit, be certain about that.
(It is an occult beachhead. Its value is psychological not geographical. The strategy board that birthed “Israel” is psychological not geopolitical.)
People are controlled by manipulation of the mind.

Peter Myers’ model posits four major conspiratorial power networks. 1) Old Empire / Hegemony/ Credit Cartels; 2) Globalists / NWO / multipolarists; 3) Zionists – Chosen destiny as World Ruler; 4) Trotskyoid transhumanists / woke / AI.
Identifying tail versus dog might not work: sometimes Israel-Zionism is the dog other times the tail. American Empire has interests in the Middle East but absent Zionists they would be several orders lower in priority. Similarly, each influences the others – plus BRICS nations are involved as evidenced during Covid.
The mind aspect: cool. But I suggest it’s still similar: individually our experience is variously layered (aka ‘chakras’) again less ‘either-or’ than ‘both-and’. Such chakra zones are like: base survival, sexual, social status, expressive-relational, heart connection, intellectual-conceptual, public persona and so forth. They all affect each other but when the sex drive kicks in the others recede, subsumed into the ecstatic red mist of the urgent imperative!
Similarly nations have chakras/layers: base economy, community culture, foreign policy, politics, finance, arts & design, technology, military etc. Each are recognizably separate zones effecting the others with ever-cycling degrees of mutual influence, just like the four major geopolitical power networks mentioned above.
Some are on the mind-psyche levels you mentioned, others on more physical-body-local levels. Mind indeed leads body as per your “people are controlled by manipulation of the mind.”
Which is why top-level strategy at mind-level achieves victory as with the currently winning well-crafted multipolarist-vs-hegemon narrative.

The reality is Israel was let off the leash to slaughter Palestinians in order to draw in Arab powers particularly Iran. Then Maerica could strike Iran with cover of a cassus belli.
This serves the Maerican purpose of striking at China’s oil supplies.

Not saying you’re wrong but also unrest in the Middle East has served to raise price of oil for decades by providing scarcity. They stopped drilling in the US for the same reason: to engender scarcity. (Then decades later, voila! Plenty of oil in the US again!) Global warming stories and suchlike are about to create massive electricity scarcity making monopolists rich and powerful as the ones controlling such vital interests.
What China is threatening is to provide alternative trade flow universe making it harder for monopolists to exert such unchallenged control and thus maintain such wealth and power.
That said, according to some conspiratorialists, what is now happening is the corralling of the West into a tightly controlled, isolated zone. This is the inner purpose of the sanctions, not to isolate Russia as per the public narrative, but to contain the West pending their ‘Reset’. Russia and China are also working on a similar type of surveillance state model but it appears the world is going to be in several discrete zones albeit largely using the same systems, with money still possibly controlled out of BIS. Perhaps the reason for the bifurcation is that the West, whose populations have different expectations, will need a different path to get to the same overall destination.
The more things change…..

UNSC attempting again to arrange ceasefire. Vote was scheduled for last night, then delayed at insistence of U.S. over resolution wording. Vote was then supposed to happen at 10AM EST this morning, and delayed once again over U.S. insistence on wording.
After the first one-week “humanitarian pause” was ended, the Americans claimed they had received assurances that the carnage would be limited from that point onwards. That proved an empty gesture, as the intensity of the attacks actually increased, as did the infliction of even more cruel and depraved atrocities directed against Palestinian civil society.
Where is the tipping point? The fallout once this is finally over will be enormous. Just at the UN, the Americans repeatedly facilitated Israel with their delays and vetos, while UN agencies were under direct murderous attacks by the IDF.

@robinthehood, #49:

KSA and IRI just held hands again in Beijing. Does Beijing want a middle east war, yes or no? Does IRI? Does Hezbollah? Does Israel?
The answer clearly is NO.

Unfortunately, I believe you’re right about China and IRI. But I do believe Hezbollah wouldn’t mind, and Israel does-as part of their genocide project to rule over all of Palestine, per their belief of heir biblical destiny.
The war so far has revealed that, despite the unspeakable hardship the Gazans are taking on the chin, their resolve against the Jewish genocide is surprisingly holding steadfast and firm. That implies the ME Arabs as an ethnicity has deep feelings on this xeno-conflict, and not going to be scare away by Israeli cruelty nor nascent advantage in fire power. I believe the Zionists overestimated their own dominance and underestimated Arabian resolves. In a long dragged out conflict, as long as the Arabs are not afraid of transient material and economic setbacks, the Jews are destined to lose because the population ratio is way too lobsided. In a dragged out conflict, the Arabs will get the weapon necessary to drive Jews into the Mediterranean, or maybe even further beyond.
I wish China would undergo a drastic change of mind. So far they haven’t yet supply Hamas nor the Hezbollahs with the caliber of weapons to strike fear into Jewish hearts. China has them, plenty of them, and endless supplies of them. I wish they would soon make this “change of heart” as part of the change of the centuries their leadership has talked about. When they do, Israel is finished, with or without a nuke war.

The devil as always is in the details.
And how is this going to mesh with ongoing anti-piracy coalitions. There still is piracy (albeit at a lower level these days) from the Western shores. China is actually involved in that effort. They were involved iirc even before the PLN Djibouti base-port started in 2017.
As I have posted in several places, one possible generational catastrophe I really do not want to see is any nuclear fueled carrier sinking with a breached reactor. The naval reactors are higher % UR235, run longer and OMG the daughter fission products and transuranics are metaphorically off the charts.

It is getting complicated for Egypt when you consider their border with Gaza and the latest Yemen moves. Consider this from a ZH posting

A massive share of Egypts income comes from the Suez Canal. This broke a record in 2022 at 9.4 billion USD, which is almost 30 percent of their annual revenue. If the Suez is closed, they aren’t making money.

Another complication reported in the article is that the port near the Cape, where more ship traffic is being diverted to, may have trouble handling the increased traffic needs.

Some figures are allowed to make some statements against genocide and Israel as the “poster children of the “moral compass”. Amy Goodman, Glenn Greenwald, Seymour Hersh, Chomsky, Katie Halper, Aaron and Gabor Mate, Finklestein, Ron Unz, Max Blumenthal….do you see that they have something in common?
Btw, of this list I appreciate Blumenthal and Unz the most. They’re the only ones who hold Israel to account with respect to Palestinians without bringing the Holocaust into it, because most of the general public don’t seem to realize the Palestinians had nothing to do with it.
That way it can be said that “free speech” is alive and well.

France busy meddling in Lebanon. Another article from the Cradle News Desk links to a video shown on Israel channel 12 of a tank shelling a home in Kibbutz Be’eri. Yet more evidence if any were needed of Hannibal.
https://new.thecradle.co/articles/lebanon-will-not-recover-from-war-with-israel-french-fm
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna visited Beirut on 18 December to meet with top political and military leaders as border skirmishes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army continue to escalate.
“If Lebanon plunges into war, it would not recover. I carry this message with great concern,” the top diplomatic envoy from the Elysee Palace told reporters.
“France is committed to preserving stability in [Lebanon],” the French foreign minister said.
Colonna also criticized “Iran as well as all its cronies in Iraq, Syria, and the Red Sea” for conducting military actions in support of the Palestinian people while expressing Paris’ “solidarity with the Israeli people” and urging Tel Aviv to “protect civilians.”
According to reports in Arabic media, Colonna urged authorities to implement UN Resolution 1701 on the Lebanese side of the border, which could force Hezbollah to withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories.

The British have a record of laying devastation to cultural heritage in political disputes, in their own island. Britain is littered with ruins of monasteries. Trophies of the victory of “Judeo-Christianity” victory over Roman Catholic Christianity in Anglo-istans.
But ISIS, regardless of who wound them up, are the responsible parties for the destruction you mention. Can’t go blaming foreigners all the time.

Not when they are violating an embargo. Yemen declared war on Israel, and is embargoing it. Commercial shipping has always been subject to attack or seizure when it carries supplies to an enemy, and Israel is doing the same vis a vis Gaza, and has been from long before 10/7. The Houthi legal position is actually much stronger than the US/NATO’s, who have long seized ships for violating unilateral sanctions without any declaration of war.

Yes, go Yemen go and I hope they stay safe. They put my country in the “free world” to deep shame. I called my MPs office (yet again) today and was told they had received “90,000 emails” on this topic. But do you think it made any difference???
I do not know about Seychelles but Bahrain is not a “tax haven” in the technical sense. It does not have low tax rates for non domiciled investors. It has either no taxes or corporate tax of 46% for those engaged in development, production or refining of hydrocarbon. It may introduce a corporate tax rate.
I don’t know if you have visited GCC countries but I don’t think people appreciate the situation they are in: thanks to their hydrocarbon resources, they have a huge target painted on them. They are always in the sights of Empire.
Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
There are about 700,000 Bahraini nationals, a little less than 50% of the population. I suspect any ruler who got ideas about kicking out the US would fall down in the shower and die and next thing you know some cousin of his who was studying in the District of Corruption is the next ruler.
Bahrain has had a US base since 1947 and did not even become independent until 1971 at the same time as Qatar and UAE. Oman 1970. Throughout the 1930s Kuwaitis wanted to unify with Iraq but that was suppressed by the British with “independence” given in 1960. Many barflies are older than these countries. Their rulers spread the wealth around: the citizens have housing, jobs, education, healthcare. They may be “repressive” but they are expected first and foremost to take care of the economic welfare of their citizens. Which they do. They try to chart a path for their countries beyond hydrocarbons without getting regime changed. That’s a tough order.
I don’t envy those guys one bit.

The particular form of the Ukraine war has always been a war against Europe, from the US perspective, and it appears that the Gaza genocide is being put to the same use. The flaw here, though, is that some of the richest elements of the globalist ruling class are heavily invested in things like maritime insurance. Some of them are going to take an enormous hit, along with all the other economic disruptions caused by the current kinetic wars and economic sanctions.
I think this can only be accounted for by recognizing the fundamental disunity of the capitalist class. When the system is under stress, they eat each other. Every financial crisis leads to greater concentration of capital in few hands, and greater concentration of state power in the hands of the minions of the winning faction.
The current crisis of capitalism shows all kinds of schisms in the capitalist class, along national/regional lines, and between ‘old wealth’ and ‘new’ and the various economic structures that support one or the other. Competitors in the same industries attempt to bring each other down, and ‘weak’ players are destroyed left and right. In sum, the rich cannot survive just by extracting more wealth from the poor, they have to destroy their competitors and extract the wealth of other rich people. All these wars and threats of war are tactics to help certain factions of the elites prosper at the expense of others.

Well Yemen has been attacked with US missiles and bombs for the last 7 years, courtesy of the Saudi government, while the people who are so much about Ukraine looked the other way.
So I hardly think threats from the US now are going to affect them. Fair play to them, they seem to be the only Arab government who are doing anything about Israel’s murderous policy.
The carrier group has been the US big stick for half a century.
Of course if GPS/IR homing missiles do it serious damage, it’ll signal an interesting sea change in naval power. All of a sudden the brilliantly sustainable British policy of 70 million-plus on an island that can only feed 30 million might look a tad foolish.
If sea power becomes moot due to satellite/gps/missile technology, Belt and Road will be the way to shift stuff and Mackinder’s World Island will suddenly become the centre of world power. Of course one response to that might be satellite wars which will make us all blind, but restore sea power.

All the world is not subject to Abrahamism/Yahwehism.
Some never were (how many Confucians in the world?); some struggled and found their way out of the trap.
During and even after the world wars (that saw zionism emerge triumphant), German theologians sought to separate a German expression of Christianity that excluded the Hebrew/Old Testament Yahweh god.. Susannah Heschel, ardent zionist and daughter of a zionist rabbi, took serious exception to Walter Grundmann’s efforts and penned The Aryan Jesus.
Her angst suggests to me that zionism (and the world wars) had as a pivot point “who owns god,” another way of saying, who gets to make the rules, who gets to define “salvation;” a meaningful life of the spirit. Germany had to be destroyed, past, present, and future, lest the curtain be pulled back on the Yahweh god.
Bibi has done what Grundmann was forbidden to do: he has ripped the mask off more than the evil nature of the zionist project. Every Palestinian child who is dismembered, burned alive causes one more hitherto uncritical “bible believer” to utter, with all due piety, WTF??

Peter Myers’ model posits four major conspiratorial power networks. …
Identifying tail versus dog might not work …
The mind aspect: cool. But I suggest it’s still similar: individually our experience is variously layered [into various functional/experiential areas …]
Similarly nations have chakras/layers: [~^ …]
Some are on the mind-psyche levels you mentioned, others on more physical-body-local levels. Mind indeed leads body as per your “people are controlled by manipulation of the mind.”
Which is why top-level strategy at mind-level achieves victory as with the currently winning well-crafted multipolarist-vs-hegemon narrative.

Distinct aspect of the human organism, whether mental or corporal, are not the issue. The key is to consider the idea of modality of perception, in concert, in its totality and (dis)harmonious coexistence in a perplexed being called ‘the Human Being’.
Here is a (speculative) example of what is meant by a ‘governing world paradigm’ and the psychological element (which even in a collective — ‘component of system’ — is affective at the level of the individual with a mind to manipulate, while of course its side-effects can and will manifest at the system level:
A few decades ago there was an incident of an officer in the USSR military deciding to not act per protocol and information at hand to fire off the nuclear arsenal under his control. His decision to fail to act as expected saved us from nuclear war.
I propose to you that had this had happened in USAF, the officer in place would have fired off his missiles and we would not be here today to gasp as the hypocrisy of world powers and media.
The soviet officer, a Russian, was subject to a given world paradigm that he (like most of his compatriots) had already began to disbelieve. His function however required his belief in the world paradigm of the Soviet Union. What were the relevant aspects of this paradigm?
One had to do with the inherent rightness of the Soviet cause. The other with the superiority of Soviet technology.
He doubted both. And he hesitated. I assert he hesitated because his soul was confronted with the destruction of mankind and his soul rebelled against the given, doctrinal, world paradigm of his government and nation. This act of disbelief is what saved us all. And this act of disbelief was governed by his actual world paradigm: one in which USSR was not almight, was not all OK, and soviet tech did in fact break down.
The Christian fundamentalist USAF officer sitting in a bunker or the USN officer in a missile boat are also given a world paradigm. In this paradigm, “Israel” is not just “beachhead” in the middle east. The mere existence of something called “Israel” is psychologically framing his evaluation of the idea of kick starting Armageddon. This is OK, unlike the case of his materialist peer in USSR, his world paradigm supports such a decision.
So, religion matters, and control of religions? That matters the most.

Just asked Chatgpt another question, just for fun. I had no doubt about the answer, after all, the target group is called ‘Baerbock’ and not ‘Sokrates’. But I was curious about the reasoning. But unfortunately only political phrases, no rational quantum leap a la ‘Data’.
”
Does Israel have a right to exist?
Yes, Israel has a right to exist. The right of a state to exist is a fundamental principle of international law. Israel was founded in 1948 as an independent state and recognised by a majority of the members of the United Nations. The international community has repeatedly recognised Israel’s right to exist. However, it is important to note that the question of a state’s right to exist is often the subject of political debate and conflict, and different points of view may exist.
”
Where is the philosophical approach, where is the logic?
Is an existence not responsible for itself? Does it not owe this responsibility for its existence?
But fine, international law should sort it out.
”
UN General Assembly is seen as Israel’s midwifeIsrael feels unfairly treated by the UN and criticises an “automatic critical majority” against it. In fact, between 2015 and last year, the UN General Assembly passed 140 resolutions that were critical of Israel – for example on settlement construction or the occupation of the Golan Heights. All other countries were subject to just 68 resolutions in the same period.”
https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/amerika/israel-un-verhaeltnis-100.html
So what use is such a right to exist?
”
The Federal Constitutional Court has consistently ruled that the German Reich as a subject of international law has not ceased to exist and that the Federal Republic of Germany is not its legal successor, but is identical to it as a subject of international law. ”
https://www.bundestag.de/webarchiv/presse/hib/2015_06/380964-380964
Will Israel also have a legal successor?
A tip: don’t use US military bases and watch out for your pipelines!

“ The war so far has revealed that, despite the unspeakable hardship the Gazans are taking on the chin, their resolve against the Jewish genocide is surprisingly holding steadfast and firm. That implies the ME Arabs as an ethnicity has deep feelings on this xeno-conflict, and not going to be scare away by Israeli cruelty nor nascent advantage in fire
@Oriental Voice
(123: that was supposed to be a joke. Sorry)
I highly recommend this video conference between former leading Israeli spooks.
“Efraim Halevy, former director of the Mossad, and Ami Ayalon, former director of Shin Bet, engage in conversation with Aaron David Miller on these and other subjects.”
https://www.youtube.com/live/hchzdcqsqKk
When I posted this the other day to MoA, I mentioned that I was surprised that Ami Ayalon expressed his shock that “Palestinians think of themselves as a people”.
> I believe the Zionists overestimated their own dominance and underestimated Arabian resolves”
Plot thickens. Per that video conference, I now understand what Ayalon meant. Zionists and Israelis always thought, as you do, that Palestinians were not a people, they were Arabs and the Arabic People already have homelands. Understand? But now, aha, they finally realized that neither the Arabs nor the Palestinians think they are “Arabs”. “They are a people”. Meaning distinct from Arabs.
Israelis have a very low opinion of Arabs but no doubt (now) a rather high one of Palestinians.
I also sensed that his analysis also included the thought that Palestinians themselves determined that since the “Arab accords” left them unmentioned — this is like Dugin and Russia pretending Iranian civilization does not exist (expletives directed )) — as if they did not exist, then they must be something other than Arab and must take the matter into their own hand.

Panama Papers was followed by Bahama Leaks and others.
Some papers did try to do hit pieces on various GCC leaders personally using offshore companies based in the Caribbean to buy luxury real estate but there was nothing illegal about it. Most GCC countries don’t have personal income tax anyway.
The EU has tried to put Bahrain and UAE on some kind of tax haven blacklist but that is more politically motivated to restrict competition with the EU tax havens like UK, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, and of course the granddad tax haven of Europe: Switzerland.
Yet more hypocrisy.
But I hear you, personally I wish Bahrain and Seychelles would somehow kick the US out. But I feel guilty criticizing them as I can’t get my government to do anything useful.

If ‘merica is seriously preparing a war for Taiwan, a ‘merican fleet of war ships in the fairly small red sea/suez canal would present a terrific opportunity for China to decimate ‘merica’s sea power, the same way NATO has chased away Russia’s fleet from the Black sea. Without China getting officially involved – those pesky (sea) drones would all be Houthi work.
Just another crazy thought.

When one examines the request that the Yemenis (with huge popular support much larger than the number of supporters of Ansrallah the band of Northern Yemenis who began the fight for independence, after which amerika & co named them ‘Houthis, Huthis etc so they would line up in confused minds with Hezbollah, Hamas etc), the request is actually very simple and easy for any reasonable nation to ensure be fulfilled “Allow the people of Gaza full humanitarian access & support”. If not shipping into Israel will be subject to attack.
That left two very simple ways for the rest of the world to comply. Firstly and most simply, do as the people of Yemen request, that is to ensure the people of Gaza get full access to humanitarian support. Nothing could be simpler, easier to fulfil and popular. After all doesn’t the vast majority of humans in the world support the belief that every human is given humanitarian treatment? Why would any government go against, bridle at such a request.
Equally and secondly why would any corporation dedicated to making profit object to agree that supply cargo to the zionist state whilst it is committing gross humanitarian abuse, should cease until the zionists grok that they live in a connected world where every human interacts and has a say with other humans? If I held shares in a corporation (fat chance, I don’t own any part of any capitalist enterprise), but if I did I would be asking “Why are you at Maersk /ZIM etc etc reducing business so drastically by diverting ALL Red Sea traffic when you don’t need to?” Incidentally I would treat every statement made in the first link ( WHO ARE YEMEN’S HOUTHI REBELS ATTACKING ISRAELI SHIPS? ) with a pinch of salt, despite the site, there is something about the author & the piece which reeks ‘intelligence operative’. If share prices of shipping firms have indeed risen then it will only be because of the prospect of yet another huge & unreasonable hike in freight costs which as others have pointed out will disadvantage shipping shareholders long term as other freight alternatives become more available.
I realise this will fly in the face of what amerikan shareholders believe but in the end a corporation’s worth really does come down to what it earns, so share price fluctuations are irrelevant long term.
Still if amerikan shareholders agreed with that the world would not be in the mess it is now with the largest corporations regularly running at a loss and printing presses running hot to keep up, now would it?
Anyway back to the original contention; since following the Yemenis line of reasoning and getting real humanitarian aid into Gaza is by far the cheapest and easiest solution, why are not more people querying this current nonsense they are being fed?

This is so very sad.
The Zionists are incredibly destructive and have no qualms about destroying ancient human “civilizational capital” (to use a secular term). Palestine B.Z. (before Zionism) was filled with lovely old towns and cities expressing the Arab cultures’ aesthetic and traditions. This environment can be seen on some vintage film footage (such as in films available at BalfourProject.org). The Palestinians should have been provided with the capital to modernize their economy, their environment and living conditions in their own way.
So much—almost all—of built Palestine was razed in the pre-Nakba and Nakba period. Simply eradicated—bulldozed and then the ground smoothed over. Horribly banal structures plonked down on top of the old sites, for the Ashkenazi newcomers.
Let’s be frank—Ashkenazim have zero taste.
A true Replacement on all levels.
This is surely the plan for Gaza. Just clear the rubble—maybe use it for fill to create more coastal real estate, or something. Or build the infrastructure necessary to process the stolen natural gas.
So far only the Houthis are taking action to decapitate the Zionist monster.

Bad India, bad.

The two guided missile destroyers were tasked with patrolling the waters near Aden amid disruptions involving Houthi rebels ”

For all those disappointed by RFK, Jr.’s support and love of Israel, I can explain it very clearly.
Don’t you think RFK, Jr. knows without a doubt who was behind the killing of both his father and uncle??
In that light, his behavior makes complete sense. Simple as.

“This insurence situation for red sea shipping particuly Llyods explains the indecent hast for the red sea coalition.”
Posted by: Mark2 | Dec 19 2023 23:18 utc | 174
I see the ‘coalition’ as a typical knee-jerk reaction. The last thing the insurers want is to turn the Red Sea into a war zone.

Mark2@174
You are indeed correct on the fact that the whole world revolves around money. Great gobs of insane piles of money. And with all that money comes staggering wealth and also immense power and control. There is a certain group of trillionaires that use that power and control to realize their goal of world domination ( this is for those that scoff and continue to plead ignorance). The City of London, the Square Mile in particular have been doing their thing since the 11th or 12th century and are getting real good at it!
I have been hoping for years that some event or set of circumstances give them a split lip and a serious kick in the ass. I hope I see it happen in these next crucial few years…

Yep thats why they the insurers stoped it in a momment the red sea became a war zone.
Instant result.
Compared to how long will this coalition take to put in place. Its two late there is now no shipping useing this route.
The only possable gain for US is to expand this war.

@181 Surferket
That IS one interesting article! If a major Chinese shipping Corp can save money by using the Suez then their statement saying they will NOT ship anything to Israel at all is pure brilliance!!

This focus on Yemen as the solitary belligerent against the Collective West and the illegal apartheid regime entity kinda gives me the creeps.
It’s almost as if the Red Sea is going to become defiled beyond use forever. I always wanted to go dive there.
I do hope there is no plan to use nukes, as retaliation for example, if the massed targets .. I mean garden guardians, navies sufferers loses.

I would just add to the link that Surferket | Dec 19 2023 23:52 utc | 181 provided the last sentence of it

OOCL is owned by the Chinese state through COSCO Shipping, the world’s largest shipowner by tonnage.

China is playing the game and winning

It means that factually, shipping volume to Israel is not vital to shipping firms. It’s a geopolitical decision to reroute to round the Horn of Africa. Like US made Boycott Israel illegal.

The Yemenis can be relieved.!
Australia it seems, at the moment, will NOT be sending a leaky boat to Operation Prosperity Guardian!
I’m dumbfounded. We were “invited” to contribute by our Greatest Ally, and we’ve turned them down (for now).
Seems we
– don’t have a seaworthy boat to spare.
– Don’t want to be upstaged by the Seychelles.
The U$ bled us dry with the AUKUS newk subs “deal”.
The U$ may be scrapping the bottom of its allies’ barrels.
All those decades of requiring Oz to subsidise their defence contractors by buying over priced and ineffective war toys, is now biting the U$ on the bum.
The U$ vacuumed up all our Bushmasters for Ukraine…. stung us for another $100million on top of that….
Our peacock pollies may enjoy strutting the world stage, bloviating, but we’re a medium regional power, at best.
We haven’t really got the capacity to help “contain China” AND meddle around in the Middle East.
Our past involvement in U$ adventures like Iraq and Afghanistan were possible because we enjoyed a safe (pacific) neighbourhood.
Now that the U$ has kicked over anthills in Solomon Islands, New Guinea and wants to challenge China, Oz defence capacity is too limited, and we can’t play in more than one sandpit. …
The U$ being dragged into a protected grind in Ukraine is proving to be miscalculation that breaks the warpig’s back (maybe, hopefully)

It’s a purely business decision based on common sense. The volume to Israel is not critical to the company.

Well, Jack Rubenstein was definitely involved with JFK’s murder. Still, I’d say its more of a fear of the money and influence of the Zionazis. But, they are carrying out a genocide all day every day before the eyes of the world and getting away with it. Maybe, you’re right. What’s one american already vilified by the MSM?

Posted by: Ahenobarbus | Dec 20 2023 0:48 utc | 199

It is incredibly reckless and irresponsible for the Biden administration to conduct a military response that risks broader regional war with Iran and possibly WW III instead of just demanding that the Israel’s cease their genocide and ethnic cleansing (with US weapons, tactical support, and US taxpayer funds).
This whole affair is spiraling into to somewhere beyond insane. Russia and China are the only hope. America is a Zionist Mossad Epstein child rape blackmail shit show that engulph’s all of our legislators, all of our Executive and many of our Judiciary. And as a result, Bibi is the shot-caller in the USA right now. He declares it! He owns and controls the United States of America right now.
But Putin is the true shot-caller now. And China is the shot-caller now to the lesser extent.
Or do you think that President Trump might have seen this coming? 4 years ago? 8 years ago? 12 years ago? And do you think solid military officers saw this coming? Yeah we did.
