Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Economist Fakes Political History Of Gaza

The Economist is faking history:

Bibi Netanyahu is the wrong man in the wrong placeEconomist – October 31, 2023

In the absence of clear government direction the Israeli defence establishment is doing all the planning. Its preferred solution is to see the PA ultimately return to Gaza, which it controlled until Hamas’s coup in 2007.

bigger

There was no 'Hamas coup', neither in 2007 nor before or after it. But there was indeed a coup attempt in Gaza. It was led by Muhammad Dahlan of the Fatah, which was also leading the Palestinian Authority, who, with U.S. support, was trying to overthrow the legally elected Hamas government of Gaza.

The Gaza BombshellVanity Fair – March 3, 2008

After failing to anticipate Hamas’s victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, the author reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.

Then President Bush called Muhammad Dahlan 'our guy' and did everything he could to further a coup:

Vanity Fair has obtained confidential documents, since corroborated by sources in the U.S. and Palestine, which lay bare a covert initiative, approved by Bush and implemented by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Deputy National Security Adviser Elliott Abrams, to provoke a Palestinian civil war. The plan was for forces led by Dahlan, and armed with new weapons supplied at America’s behest, to give Fatah the muscle it needed to remove the democratically elected Hamas-led government from power.

It is a long complex story. In the end the Bush administration gave up and simply tried to ignore Hamas and Gaza. That did not work either.

As the Vanity Fair piece concluded at that time:

It is impossible to say for sure whether the outcome in Gaza would have been any better—for the Palestinian people, for the Israelis, and for America’s allies in Fatah—if the Bush administration had pursued a different policy. One thing, however, seems certain: it could not be any worse.

Seeing how helpless the Palestinians are in the West Bank, where the settlers and army are torturing and terrorizing them, it is difficult to agree with that conclusion.

Phil, you cannot be a ‘paid troll’ as your prose is too simplistic and banal even for trolls so I come to the conclusion that you are mentally unhinged.
I would recommend you post exclusively MSM social media where you will be surrounded by fellow uneducated, unhinged intellectual peasants.

This is so annoying!
Note use of the passive mode, “was formally established” on 14 May. No, it was not.
David Ben-Gurion stood up and declared the establishment of the state. It was recognized that very day by President Truman. So, a fait-accomplis plotted by Ben-Gurion and Truman. Who needed Jewish money for his election campaign.
Ben-Gurion (David Green) was the head of the Jewish Agency. Also, the head of a terrorist organization, but the relevant part here is the former position. That body acted as if it were already the government of a Jewish state in Palestine.
Hence, I see no reason whatsoever why a Palestinian entity can’t do exactly the same thing. The political head of Hamas could simply stand up and declare the existence of the state of Palestine. All that is then required is for a few countries to recognize it. A few larger countries, such as China, would of course be better than, say, the Maldives.

It’s as if Osama Bin Laden jumped out of bed one day and unilaterally declared an Islamic Caliphate over the entire Middle East with him as it’s Supreme Leader because he said so.
In 1948 only 33% of the Population were Jewish and they declared a nation state over +55% of the Palestine territory because they said so. Bullshit. It was always total bullshit.

POPULATION OF PALESTINE BY SUB-DISTRICT, 1946

Meanwhile, since early 1944 the combined Zionist militias had waged a campaign against British forces and installations in Palestine. By mid-1946, British security forces were being shot, bombed or kidnapped on a nearly weekly basis. Hundreds of civilians were killed.
In a thinly veiled attack on the Zionist leaders, the Prime Minister (PM) declared, “If our dreams for Zionism… and our labours for its future are to produce a new set of gangsters worthy of Nazi Germany, many like myself will have to reconsider the position we have maintained so consistently and so long in the past.”
Between 1920 and 1945, the British presided over the immigration of 393,887 Jews, who made up fully two-thirds of the total Jewish population by the end of 1945. Since the Mandate census of 1922, the Jewish population had increased by 700% and in 1946 made up nearly 32% of the total.
Versus Less than 10% Jewish in 1920 (and that overstated by British Military)
Only 3 % in 1890-1900s, and nothing like a MAJORITY or EVEN HALF in 1946 when these disgusting criminal terrorists self-declared their “independence” they defined their FAKE State over 55% of Palestinian Land ….. in total DEFIANCE of every Clause and Principle in the doomed UN Partition Plan 1947 …. which was then DEAD IN THE WATER and a Relic of White Supremacist Racists. Zionist immigration following the establishment of the military administration had not increased markedly, but with the creation of the Mandate, whose first High Commissioner, Sir Herbert Samuel, was a Jew and a great supporter of the Zionist platform, Zionist diplomatic efforts were immediately rewarded.
One of Samuel’s first acts was the approval of 16,500 Jewish immigration certificates; the local Zionist leadership reported to WZO head Chaim Weizmann, that the Mandate was being, “enthusiastically welcomed” by the community.
In 1920, Jewish immigration in fact rose by an unprecedented 450%, leading many Zionists to believe the British Mandate was to be simply an instrument for the fulfillment of the Balfour Declaration. Despite these important steps in empowering the Zionist movement, few European Jews were attracted to the program and even when the Zionist immigration reached these peaks, the vast majority of emigrating Jews made their way to the US.
Of every 1,000 Jews in the world, only four made their way to Palestine during these immigration waves, impressing upon the WZO the imperative of expanding their political program abroad.

To even attempt to genocide a people in full view of a world where citizens get threatened with jail for wrong pronouns. My mind is melting down at this. Can’t even say fag or tranny as it’s hate speech but world leaders can openly say sub human and final solution , can’t take the phone off my kids as punishment or its abuse but they can cut water food electricity and internet and its seen as generous they aren’t bombed more. Something got to break. It’s round one of the title fight.

Wow, such alacrity-I am envious of your rhetoric!
However, I would quibble and say that we are in the last round of a world title fight-its round six where the seemingly defenseless Muhammed Ali representing the East takes a huge beating from George Foreman representing the West for all six rounds.
George punches himself out (see Western fiscal deficits, losing Ukraine war, wokeism, lack of war production, diplomatic morass, racism) is so weary in the 7th round Ali puts him on the canvas for good.

Question:
What are the implications of a permanently stationed U.S Military Force in Gaza as Blinken’s latest speculations seem to suggest?
Posted by: Arch Bungle | Nov 2 2023 8:56 utc | 390
I’d say thousands of dead Americans in Gaza and the Mediterranean, in Iraq and Syria, then daily terrorism on the streets of America UK and Europe, and World War III Joy for all the Jewish Neocons whose dreams have come true and then turned into a Nightmare!
It also means an earlier demise of Israel as a State, which is good imo.

Actually not even Janssen gets the Uyghur problem, even with the two German specialists he cites. It is obvious that Xinjiang is a colonial territory, much in the same way as Kazakhstan and the other central Asian states related to Russia, though it was denied under Soviet communism. In the same way the Chinese deny that Xinjiang is a colony, that they do so is perhaps to trace back to the lingering communist character of China. The Uyghur jihadis wanted independence, and the Chinese cracked down. Really how far the crackdown has gone is the question. The West says it’s severe; Janssen and his informants say it’s much lighter than that.

Thank you for providing these further details on the actual demographics of Palestine.
The Mandate was a diplomatic judo move that catapulted the Zionists into strengthened positions in Palestine. How can the normally somewhat savvy British imperial elites have been so stupid as to let this happen? They had nothing but tsuris for their misguided efforts on behalf of Zionists.
More interesting insights into the MO of aggressive Zionist Jews in the 1920s can be found in Moshe Arens’s memoir In Defense of Israel. He details (along with his early life and the benefits conferred on him by the USA) his joining the Betar youth movement, and the activities of its members in dispossessing Palestinians farmers of their land and water sources.
It is disgusting, yet this ingrate, educated in the USA and I believe a US citizen, rose to the highest positions in Israeli diplomacy (Net’s mentor in Washington, DC), technology development, party politics, and administration.

Israel continues to fight in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, while facing threats from several other directions in its first multi-front war in decades.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) ground offensive in Gaza, which began on October 27, is making some progress. As of November 1, Israeli troops advanced along al-Rasheed Street on the coast of Gaza, near the city of Beit Lahia in the northeastern part of the Strip and in Wadi Gaza, right to the south of Gaza City.
This advance came at a high cost. The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Movement which rules Gaza, announced on October 31 that its fighters have so far destroyed 22 Israeli military vehicles. By November 1, the IDF had acknowledged that 11 of its troops were killed in clashes inside the Strip.
Israeli bombardment on Gaza intensified after the start of the ground offensive. Around 400 civilians were killed or wounded when several strikes hit a complex of residential buildings in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern part of the Strip on October 31.
Over 8,500 Palestinains, including more than 3,500 children and 2,100 women, have been killed since the outbreak of the war. On the other side, at least 1,418 Israelis have been killed so far, most of them during the October 7 Hamas-led surprise attack. Some 245 hostages remain in the hands of Hamas.
Meanwhile on the Lebanon front, clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah continue. The Lebanese group announced on October 31 that it had targeted 105 Israeli military sites since the war in Gaza broke out. 120 Israeli troops were killed or wounded in the attacks, according to the group, which also said that 13 military vehicles and dozens of surveillance equipment were destroyed.
It’s worth noting that 47 Lebanese fighters, four civilians and seven Palestinains fighters have been killed since the start of the clashes on this front.
In Syria and Iraq, more attacks targeted United States forces in response to Washington unconditional support for Israel’s war on Gaza. The Pentagon announced on October 31 that 16 attacks targeted U.S. bases in Iraq and 11 others targeted bases in Syria over the past two weeks.
Israel’s devastating war on Gaza even led to a reaction from Yemen. The Houthis (Ansar Allah) announced on October 31 that they had targeted Israel with missiles and drones. The Iranian-backed group also claimed responsibility for two other attacks that targeted Israel from the Red Sea on October 19 and 27. A fourth missile attack from this front was reported on November 1. Israel is reportedly considering a response.
The war in Gaza is putting Israel’s ability to fight on multiple fronts simultaneously to the test. As the war escalates, the IDF could find itself facing larger threats from even more fronts. Furthermore, attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East will likely increase and become larger in scale. Overall, Israel’s stated goal of eradicating Hamas appears to be unrealistic.

Neither Ukraine not Israel will disappear if it depends on Russia. The Soviet Union was the first country to recognize Israel (even if it broke relations in 1967) and Ukraine was a quasi-independent state within the Soviet Union and as such one of the cofounders of the UN. Russia is a successor state to the Soviet Union. Both will see their territory change but I see at least Putin in no hurry to obliterate any state from the map. The problem in Palestine is that the old British mandate did not get transferred to a single state like Iraq or Syria but was supposed to be split: now both parties want to keep it as a whole. See how that is working out.

“The rest is Academic. Israel has no right to exist as an independent nation (imo), but until the world’s majority community of nations – even without the US, EU and UK – step up in unison and ACT to intervene militarily and economically and politically against Israel nothing will ever change (imo).”
Excellent work LD, it confirms that whatever secret control that the Zionists had over their Slave PALESTINIANS kept in their Apartheid slave camp was transitory.
Sovereignty can only exist where there are Peoples historically settled.
That excludes ‘Israelis’ and therefore the state of Israel.
Historically, means in continuous living memory in the specific geography. With their own culture and language – it specifically excludes RELIGION. Peoples can and should have rights to believe in their personal ‘religion’ as long as that does not deny the same right to anyone else. Or to lay claim upon anything beyond their own minds and religious practices – birth, marriage, death in individual lives are what any religion anywhere should be about. To help people get through these critical moments of life and not be left traumatised and incapable.
How the whole fiction is unraveled by the century of suffering of the Palestinians and their daily brutal murders. The Pope cries crocodile tears, like the WASP’s, as their century of fascist, Nazi , supremacists dogma fails yet again to conquer the world.

*** The UK ruling class remains extremely potent- it has reduced the British people to a state not much better than it was in during the 1930s ***
Potentially much worse. However bad the pre-WW2 system, there actually were productive industries then. And asset-stripping (on top of ideological and cultural pollution) of the county by its US alleged “ally” was still to come. Also, there was not the mass-immigration later imposed, with all its effects and side-effects (one ‘excuse’ being that it was a more profitable quick-fix to shunt-in bodies from abroad than to modernise equipment).
Same could be said of pre-WW1. Major reform *was possible*.
But now, with an unsustainable population level plus an “economy” based upon what — speculation and ever increasing bullshit managerialism? — it is not.
Once “AI” replaces millions of employees engaged in pixel-shuffling, what then?
The treacherous ruling strata will be fine, though … their wealth safely stacked offsshore, and themselves able to bugger off to safe havens.
Pity about the rest of the population …. mere collateral damage.
Such is so-called “progress”.

Two state solution, as I already posted, is easily implemented, even now, by simply having US/West siding with Palestine.
No more military/economic help from US to Israel, unless Israel strictly conform to UN resolutions, even when vetoed by IS/West.
Carrier fleet from US/West in place to keep Israel army operating outside strictly defense operations.
Unfortunately this will never happen.

Sandy, the problem with your posts is that you are parroting the tag lines of the Empire. You must remember that this is an international site and a lot of people here do not hold the same views. I live in the belly of the beast and have heard all the lies before. Forcing your opinion on others usually has a negative effect. Having said that, I wanted to apologise to spare-truth for an earlier post. I hadn’t realized that you were Chinese. I couldn’t post on either a Chinese or Russian site without appearing ignorant, due to my lack of language skills. Maybe Spanish or Italian.

I also have a dubious article by the infamous Charles Colson, from his “ministry”, “We Hold These Truths”, titled “The Cause of the Conflict. Fixing Blame”.
There is definitely a group of “Christians” that have been battling the Scofield bible for “religious” reasons for decades.

The Uyghur jihadis wanted independence, and the Chinese cracked down. Really how far the crackdown has gone is the question. The West says it’s severe; Janssen and his informants say it’s much lighter than that.

Britain has always been duplicitous in its behaviour in Palestine.
In 1936, Palestinians rebelled against British rule when they saw that the country was being handed over to Zionists against their interests and wishes.
This was suppressed with great brutality. 100,000 British troops and police were deployed to terrorise the Arab population, well under 1 million at that time. Palestinian organisations were smashed and the Palestinian leadership destroyed.
Meanwhile, fanatics like Orde Wingate set up Jew terror organisations to murder and intimidate Palestinians.
So when the Zionists started their terror campaigns and ethnic cleansing prior to 1948, Palestinians had virtually no organisation or leadership to fall back on – they had been smashed by the British to leave them defenceless against Jew terror and massacres.

The war of 1948 followed.
The Zionist fantasy version of history is that “7 Arab armies” invaded “plucky little Israel” who somehow managed to hold them off.
In reality, there was a very half hearted intervention from neighbouring countries after several hundred thousand Palestinians had already been expelled in an extensive and long pre planned campaign of massacre and ethnic cleansing. Palestinians who failed to flee in time were simply massacred in Nazi style atrocities. Jews even poisoned Arab wells with typhus. All this has been openly admitted and documented by Israeli historians like Morris and Gantz.
Most neighbouring Arab states were still actual European colonies at the time or had only recently become nominally independent. Egypt was a British colony until well into the 1950s.

The truth about the war of 1948 is that the Arab forces were actually outnumbered 3-1.
There were 65,000 armed Jews in the various Jew terror groups.
The mythical “7 Arab armies” actually numbered 21,500.
An Egyptian force of 10,000, the Jordanian Arab Legion of 6,000, and another 5,500 in small contingents from Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. None of these groups were well equipped or well led, but under the circumstances they didn’t do too badly. They managed to hold on to the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza strip (at least until the Israeli aggression of 1967, long planned to seize the remaining 22% of Palestine they hadn’t been able to steal in 1948.) The Jordanians fought quite well.

There is an interesting book regarding Truman and the Zionists. Genesis: Truman, American Jews, and the Origins of the Arab/Israeli Conflict
I read it a while back. I very much am not enamored with Truman, but in some of his more personal remarks revealed in the book, he wasn’t fully stoked on the Zionists. I don’t have the energy to find said passages. Please don’t think this is some Truman apology. I detest the puppet who fronted for nuclear bomb droppers.

The City of London is the European time zone remote working centre for Wall Street. Post 1973 it housed the Eurodollar markets and administers the tax havens for US offshore money, but it is very much middle and back office. The power lies with Goldmans, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and the rest and it runs on Wall St time, as anyone who ever worked there and had to do daily calls at midnight GMT will, testify. London also houses the European super rich as a non Dom tax haven, but again that is servant, not master. It’s like the widespread misunderstanding of Blackrock and Statestreet as super-villains, they are basically custodians of index funds with zero real agency. Sure Larry Fink swaggers and postures like he actually manages that money, but he is just a useful front man. Blackstone, yes, Blackrock no. The real power lies with the hedge funds and private equity groups who are all US and, shall we say, unlikely to be Hamas supporters.

It is touching- Antonym@318- that your hatred of Islam and applause for the murder of muslims stops when the Uighurs, muslims since the Eighth Century, evidence themselves.
Is it that you hate Chinese more? Or that you fear communism more than Islam?
Scratch a Hindutva zealot and you find a willing slave of Imperialism- the Raj knew as much. And now the Americans are catching on.

It is touching- Antonym@318- that your hatred of Islam and applause for the murder of muslims stops when the Uighurs, muslims since the Eighth Century, evidence themselves.
Is it that you hate Chinese more? Or that you fear communism more than Islam?

You are wrong. And I’m surprised that you don’t know it.
Trudeau owes his office to the support that he receives in Parliament on votes of Confidence. His security depends upon his arrangement with the NDP.
Surely you know that?
As to Hitler he wass given power by President Hindenburg. He mans whose non-Nazi members disposed of enough additional mandates to bring him a majority.
He then killed, imprisoned or expelled his socialist/communist opponents and found he no longer needed to coalesce.
There is such a compulsion by liberals and other friends of capitalism to claim that Hitler was elected freely (which thus reflects badly on the coommon folk who vote) that the clear and plain fact that the Nazis never won an election is one that they refuse to accept.
Which is not surprising: Hitler came to power because the wealthy and the establishment wanted him in power. And they wanted him in power so that he could enslave the working class and make them richer. Which, in turn, made Germany a magnet for US (Canadian too) capital.

should read
“..they wanted him in power so that he could enslave the working class and make themselves richer.”
The living standards of the German working people fell steadily after Hitler came to power: hours of work increased, and were compulsory, real wages fell. And in the end there was war, conscriptiion and ten million German casualties. War in which industry was run, increasingly by slaves being starved to death.

All that fine and well put. Just in time.
To add a bit there…Jews have been arming illegally mainly from Odesa Raions, some Czechoslovakian airframes also smuggling stuff after the WWII, while Stalin kept eyes closed, as he hoped that he would solve the Jewish problem he had within the system.
Since 1934 Jewish folk has its own autonomy in Birobidzhan as its administrative unit, meaning having its own administrative state way before 1948 wars.
Now they have two. JAO (Jewish Autonomous Oblast) and Israel.
The Russian Jewish Oblast is rather empty of Jews lately, and I would say, the way Putin is restrained a bit, as he indicates to point to some possible import of still sane Israelis there.
That moderately warm climate area is bigger than what is Israel now, for about 15.000 km2, so almost the double, one might claim. And a lot better land. Amur is really a good trading artery rising in trading. No ‘pesky’ Arabs around to “steer the trouble”, and I doubt that RF would allow some attempts in a Zionist terror and a settlers’ land grab. Yes. It is in South Eastern Siberia, bordering with China. Top location.
Why can’t we have a nice things instead?

The land land west of the Jordan was a lot wetter and nicer thousands of years ago, now indeed it is not that nice.
But for 1,950 years the traditional non-integrationist jewish wish on new year has not been “next year let’s meet in Birobidzhan”, but in Jerusalem.
To some extent persons who have pursued that dream for so long are admirable, but rather foul the means many of them have used and keep using to achieve it.
But that 1,950-year-old wish has shaped jewish culture for good and bad and has strong implications as to jewish culture (the tendency for fanaticism for example), split among isolationists and separationists (zionists or not) and integrationists (assimilationists or not).
For example now that Jerusalem has been reconquered, many israeli jews utterly despise the diaspora jews who have not “returned”, and like old-style zionists they (for example Netanyahu) seem to try to spread antisemitic propaganda abroad to indirectly push diaspora jews to “return”.
BTW there seems to be a plan for a backup jewish homeland not near the Amur but in Patagonia.around “Lago Escondido”.

For the sake and safety of everyone else in the world (their puppets excepted) it should be totally destroyed as soon as it becomes a reality.

Did the Bush administration back a Coup attempt by the PLO to take back Gaza? Or did they get the PLO and Hamas to fight each other to achieve the perferred Israeli objective – dividing the Palestinians into warring factions and using Hamas “crazies” to show that a diplomatic solution was impossible?

Yes, an ideal position and a location.
Since 1944 German Nazi’s occupied that area already.
So, who is going to play the settler’s role there?
I still claim they will be better off in South East Siberia.
And I agree that Israel, as is, shoudn’t exist.
