Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Economist Fakes Political History Of Gaza

The Economist is faking history:

Bibi Netanyahu is the wrong man in the wrong placeEconomist – October 31, 2023

In the absence of clear government direction the Israeli defence establishment is doing all the planning. Its preferred solution is to see the PA ultimately return to Gaza, which it controlled until Hamas’s coup in 2007.

bigger

There was no 'Hamas coup', neither in 2007 nor before or after it. But there was indeed a coup attempt in Gaza. It was led by Muhammad Dahlan of the Fatah, which was also leading the Palestinian Authority, who, with U.S. support, was trying to overthrow the legally elected Hamas government of Gaza.

The Gaza BombshellVanity Fair – March 3, 2008

After failing to anticipate Hamas’s victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, the author reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.

Then President Bush called Muhammad Dahlan 'our guy' and did everything he could to further a coup:

Vanity Fair has obtained confidential documents, since corroborated by sources in the U.S. and Palestine, which lay bare a covert initiative, approved by Bush and implemented by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Deputy National Security Adviser Elliott Abrams, to provoke a Palestinian civil war. The plan was for forces led by Dahlan, and armed with new weapons supplied at America’s behest, to give Fatah the muscle it needed to remove the democratically elected Hamas-led government from power.

It is a long complex story. In the end the Bush administration gave up and simply tried to ignore Hamas and Gaza. That did not work either.

As the Vanity Fair piece concluded at that time:

It is impossible to say for sure whether the outcome in Gaza would have been any better—for the Palestinian people, for the Israelis, and for America’s allies in Fatah—if the Bush administration had pursued a different policy. One thing, however, seems certain: it could not be any worse.

Seeing how helpless the Palestinians are in the West Bank, where the settlers and army are torturing and terrorizing them, it is difficult to agree with that conclusion.

I used the term proxy earlier but that probably was not correct description of what I was thinking. Front man is perhaps a better term for that.
As a non state actor capable of strikes on Israel, very mobile guerrilla warfare style yet using sophisticated missiles. Sort of thing that won’t lead to great power direct conflict.

During the siege in Sarajevo, when I was reporting for The New York Times, we never endured the level of saturation bombing and near total blockage of food, water, fuel and medicine that Israel has imposed on Gaza.
We never endured hundreds of dead and wounded a day. We never endured the complicity of the international community in the Serbian campaign of genocide. We never endured Washington intervening to block ceasefire resolutions. We never endured massive arms shipments from the U.S. and other Western countries to sustain the siege.
We never endured press reports from Sarajevo that were routinely discredited and dismissed by the international community, although 25 journalists were killed in the war by the besieging Serbian forces.
We never endured Western governments justifying the siege as the right of the Serbs to defend themselves, although the U.N. peacekeepers sent to Bosnia were largely a public relations gesture, ineffective in halting the slaughter until forced to respond following the massacres of 8,000 Bosniak men and boys at Srebrenica.
I don’t mean to minimize the horror of the siege of Sarajevo, which gives me nightmares nearly three decades later. But what we suffered – three to four hundred shells a day, four to five dead a day, and two dozen wounded a day – is a tiny fraction of the wholesale death and destruction in Gaza.
The Israeli siege of Gaza more resembles the Wehrmacht’s assault on Stalingrad, where over 90 percent of the city’s buildings were destroyed, than Sarajevo.

I wanted to get into this idea that anytime a group or country stands up against America or the zionists, they are actually secretly controlled by the Americans or the west or the zionists. But instead of trying to explain it i found a tweet by Miko Peled specifically talking about the Hamas Israel case:

We don’t really know who owns and editorialises the Economist.
Anyway here’s the newly minted story of ‘deployment’ on the web.
The latest reports of supposed US boots on the ground to ‘rescue’ hostages!
What’s the betting that just like the mythical Israeli soldiers killed and burnt beyond recognition by some bat like Hamas superhuman, that most of these will end up the same way.
To speculate somewhat ..
I wouldn’t be surprised to see other natzo countries will also claim to have got their ‘special’ forces involved in some worthy cause but ended up crisped up , beyond recognition.
Of course their family and colleagues will know when the last time they saw them …and without their furlough in between …
Yup Ukrop natzos are toast, special toast, not much left to bury with glory, except with a whole bunch of lies.
I’ll take a guess probably a few thousand.
They’d be proud that thousands of Palestinian children were blown up to give their meaningless deaths some cover.
Looking forward to years of blowback as their colleagues go ‘postal’
Er, complete speculation , I got no proof yet.

One of the main reason for these types of conspiracy theories is to make the oppressive power seem invincible, and to stamp out the idea of resisting against them from the peoples minds.
In the middle east countries that are puppets of America, like Saudi Arabia and the UAE always spread conspiracy theories like this to keep the population in their pocket, even though it is them that are with the Americans and Zionist’s. They make things up like Iran and hezbollah, basically anyone who is genuinely trying to stand up to the west and Zionists are in reality part of the west and zionists. These conspiracy theories are ridiculous and obviously don’t stand up in the face of scrutiny.

Roots@30
So, which is the next host after the fall of the US?
It must be one of the leading ascending countries of the Global South, none of the Western sinking ships.
In my thinking, China cannot be the host, due to the extremely rigid structures of the CCC, which will not allow any outside interference; China’s legalistic tradition does not tolerate inner competitors for the Middle Kingdom.
India might be a much more susceptible target for empire building. It is a nuclear power with the largest population on the globe. The BJP fully supports Israel against the “barbarian Muslims”. Hindutva is based on the same premise of exceptionality as the US and Israel, and is now in power and radicalizing the population.
There are Indian intellectuals who worry that similarities Between Hitler’s Third Reich and Modi’s India are growing everyday.
If I were China/Russia, I would try as much as possible to avert this possibility.

It was a good question though: what has Hamas done for its people?
Posted by: Jonathan W | Nov 1 2023 17:55 utc | 99
It’s a question that’s been answered in documentaries and news reports over the years.
Hamas has literally performed every single basic function of a government in the strip.
I don’t have the patience right now to go through it all, just suffice to say:
People really have to snap out of the Zionist mindfuckery that tries to paint every resistance movement against Whitey as some kind of seedy criminal activity.
All I see here is a bunch of white people trying to find a reason why any resistance by brown folks must be, somehow, A Bad Thing (TM).
If it’s not terrorism they try to stick it with, it’s some kind of Masonic-M.B bullshit.
If it’s not that, it’s the lack of governance ISO-standards compliance.
But somehow, some way – any uppity little group that tries to stick up for brown folk has to be up to something shady, has to be, just gotta be …
If it aint white, it aint legit. Even if it’s a fucking NAZI regime – it’s “legit” because it’s White.
And if none of that horseshit sticks, it has to be, JUST GOTTA BE, created by the White Man In Secret As Controlled Opposition, ‘cos Brown Folk just aint smart enough to do it themselves …

Oh Jams. Whilhelm Reich was a nut first off. Secondly he was not a Marxist or a revolutionary, he was a fruedian, in other words a psuedoscientist.
He and his ilk from the anti marxist Frankfort School popularized the notion that really the slaves are responsible for all crimes of the master. This school gave birth to what we now know today as idpol.
I get it. This was considered cutting edge left in the 70s. You were likely young then and sadly this was what was on offer. That game is played out.
Nobody but you cites the sad Reich anymore. Yet, Marx remains current. The reason we are currently disempowered disorganized wage slaves in the west today is largely the result of such ruling class leftism.
An actual Marxism revolutionary party will have to be rebuilt in order to even challenge the power of the master today.
You and Aleph can keep self flagellating for the crimes of your masters if you like, but don’t pollute the healthy youth with this gutter “socialism”

Regarding Eheret , I first came across him when Ohh-Gee the shadow of On-Gee started promoting him along with a few other shady characters, I don’t know if Lira ever made it there as I have long since stopped to look in on the kooks and cucks that inhabit that shaded ally.
I can’t remember now if I got engaged in any particular subject with him. Will need to check back sometime.
Anyway – that’s a couple of wasted hours I shan’t be repeating. Thankfully I had picked up a lurg so passed out before he got completely gaga only to wake up some laughable CT crap near the end.

The Duran boys stay meticulously on the correct side of the line – hence why they haven’t been cancelled yet. And yup they have caught a few moths in their flame.
I’d call them the Daily News Channel that Only Quotes Western Media and Talking Heads who are sent to their lair.

I just realised one thing. muslims, jews, christians, hindus and such other faiths you have to believe what you are told. buddhism is the only one that says that you have to find out for yourself if it is the actual reality thing otherwise you have to reject it. And buddhism is the only path that deals in eons and multi-eons. And buddhism says that a buddha comes after multi-eons, in between people (sentient beings capable of thought) forget what is craving and what is real. In between two buddhas there may be apecca buddhas (who gain enlightenment without help but do not preach the path). As the apecca buddhas do not teach, people forget about this path to liberation, only a vague remembrance remains. If this is true I get why the world has come to this present state, and why some buddhists are cool about this diminishment of buddhism since the buddha’s time. Also this sates me to an amount that I would not call full bliss but somewhat reassuring. So bring it on hamas, israhell, pakistan, hindus. We will fight it out to have our ideas of how things should be to fruition. And we believe things that people tell us. And we would continue to believe people who tell us we should believe them as it is them who are telling us to believe them.

NYTs reporter comes clean……..
The brazenness of Israeli lies stunned those of us who reported from Gaza. It did not matter if we had seen the Israeli attack, including the shooting of unarmed Palestinians. It did not matter how many witnesses we interviewed. It did not matter what photographic and forensic evidence we obtained.
Israel lied. Small lies. Big lies. Huge lies.
These lies came reflexively and instantly from the Israeli military, Israeli politicians and Israeli media. They were amplified by Israel’s well-oiled propaganda machine and repeated with a cloying sincerity on international news outlets.
Israel engages in the kinds of jaw-dropping lies that characterize despotic regimes. It does not deform the truth, it inverts it.
It paints a picture that is diametrically opposed to reality.
Those of us who have covered the occupied territories have run into Israel’s Alice-in-Wonderland narratives, which we dutifully insert into our stories — required under the rules of American journalism — although we know they are untrue……,

It is both true and untrue that the Germans voted the NSDAP into power. True, because the NSDAP acceded to power via entirely constitutional means. Untrue because in the last free election before the Machtergreifung the NSDAP won only a plurality of 33%.
I’ll vote for “untrue.”
bevin is not quite correct, however, in claiming the industrialists ushered Hitler into power (that much is true) because the KPD was “likely to win an election.” In that last election the KPD came in only third, increasing its support over the previous election only modestly (17% versus 14%) — still with only half of the Nazis’ numbers. Meanwhile the Nazis had fallen, but not by much: 33% versus the previous 38%.

If I may offer a little insight of my own for scrutiny, I feel all this recent business is a sympton. I feel the true proximate cause somewhat eludes even the most well read.
It’s the dam money! The root cause of all this evil is printed money.
Democracy is an illusion. 1884 reform act was contrived by the money men in knowledge of the ability to manipulate the masses with media. From there to ww1 was easy. Ww2 finished off the British and removed the money from the money. It was pounds sterling as in lbs of sterling (92.5 silver).
It’s all about who gets to decide what money is. Who’s system is inforce.
Fight back! Take your money out of the banks.
Stop taking their sympton treating drugs and take your own health and well being in hand.

The Economist is basically Bildeberg. It’s editor Zany Milton Beddows is top level Bildeberg. Owners include Lynn Rothschild, who was introduced to her future husband Sir Evelyn de Rothschild by Henry Kissinger at a Bildeberg conference and as part of their honeymoon they were hosted by the Clintons at the White House. The other key owners are the Agnelli family., who have been fundamental since the 1950s – the days of Rockefeller’s involvement.

Who reads the economist anymore.
Hamas is the effective government of Gaza. The people of Gaza apparently approve of Hamas, it’s goals and methods.
Hamas attacked Israel with the sole purpose of murdering people and taking video of their acts of murder. The pro Hamas posters here are part of that.
Hamas, as the government of Gaza is responsible for it’s civilians. Hamas, embeds it operations within it’s civilian population. The civilians have been warned to leave. Hamas is responsible for what happens to them.
Many posters here want to impose a ceasefire and frozen conflict on Israel to perpetuate the conflict forever in the hopes that eventually the Jews will be driven into the sea.
Those same commenters rightly praise Russias refusal to accept a ceasefire and frozen conflict in Ukraine.

Augusto Pi – Palestinians voted for Hamas, so they have to bear the consequences, etc.
Israelis voted for Nuttyyahoo, so maybe they have to bear the consequences as well.
For historical reasons going back 300 years, there is a large Russian-German community in Germany.
In 2022, unless they publicly condemned Russia and Putin, Russian Germans were refused medical treatment, sacked from their jobs, attacked in the street, and their businesses vandalised -amongst many other things, like banning Russian athletes and Russian sport. The EU directed that any Russians travelling to the EU should have their cars confiscated, their clothes confiscated, their soap, shampoo and toothpaste confiscated. Even if they did publicly condemn Putin, they were still refused medical treatment, sacked from their jobs, and attacked in the street.
Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander.
Maybe Jews and Israelis travelling abroad should be required to publicly condemn Israel and Nuttyyahoo. Or be refused medical treatment, sacked from their jobs and attacked in the street. Maybe we should start confiscating toothpaste from Jews.
That’s reasonable, isn’t it?
Of course not. But if western and Israeli standards were to be applied, Jews and Israelis everywhere would be legitimate targets. What goes around, comes around. Fight fire with fire. If they want a war of extermination, that’s their choice.

I dont think Ehrets focus is on just the City of Londons influence on the US. It is about the entire anglophile networks influence as explained by Carroll Quigley
I havent heard whether Ehret uses the term Pilgrim Society but that was its name after Cecil Rhodes died and Edward VII continued to run things. Edward had Carnegie in his pocket and had him encourage the US to go to war. Edward died in 1910 but still was a major op behind WWI and he had at his disposal the whole AA-network.
Ehret like you say seems to be a follower of Larouche but the latters use of the british monarchy may be seen as a method to encourage the revolutionary spirit among americans and canadiens.
Otherwise there is important learning hard to find elsewhere in the writings of the Larouche associates.
Ehrets wife Cynthia Chung is also very good.

I call out Pope Frank and King Chuck as members of the cult but am not aware of others. I continue to ask here for a Fortune 500 of global and national trust funds that would tell us far more than names like Gates, Musk, Soros and the new wealth elite astride the current reporting of global “rich folk”.
If humanity gets to the point where it makes finance a public utility like China then I expect the long term elite of our species will see their control of our species wane and that would be a good thing, IMO

MP suspected of mosque arson appointed chair of Knesset West Bank committee
1 hour ago – MEE
An Israeli MP who was arrested over an arson attack on a West Bank mosque has been appointed chair of the Knesset subcommittee overseeing the occupied West Bank.
Tzvi Succot, a member of the far-right Religious Zionist Party, was appointed on Wednesday as head of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee for West Bank Affairs, which deals with security and civil affairs in Israel-administered areas of the West Bank.
The committee deals with issues such as building in the settlements and supervision of checkpoints between the occupied territory and Israel.
The committee also supervises the Israeli security forces and drafts bills in foreign and defence affairs.
Succot, a settler from Yitzhar near Nablus, was arrested by the Shin Bet intelligence services in 2009 after being suspected of involvement in an arson attack on a mosque in the village of Yasuf in the northern West Bank.
He was later released, but remained monitored by Shin Bet.
Also, in 2015 he organised a protest in support of the Israeli detainees suspected of involvement in the Duma arson attack that killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh and his parents.

Also, in 2015 he organised a protest in support of the Israeli detainees suspected of involvement in the Duma arson attack that killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh and his parents.

@107 “We don’t really know who owns and editorialises the Economist.”
Yes we do:
“The Agnelli family’s Exor paid £287 million to raise their stake from 4.7% to 43.4%, while the Economist paid £182 million for the balance of 5.04 million shares which will be distributed to current shareholders.[5] Aside from the Agnelli family, smaller shareholders in the company include Cadbury, Rothschild (21%), Schroder, Layton and other family interests as well as a number of staff and former staff shareholders.[5][6]”

Russian author Nikolai Starikov says the nazis got new uniforms when Trotsky lost the power struggle in the USSR.
If Trotsky had become the leader the british could have used him in causing revolutions everywhere.
So that was when they opted for plan B with Hitler.

But do idf really need help, ground troops, from all around the world? 🤔

US aims for the near future may already have toned down a bit with Kinzal missiles watching them 24/7.
But is seems like US wants Israel to take full control of all of Palestine – something similar to Ukraine where the Americans wanted Sevastopol and Ukraine right up to the Russian border.
Perhaps more will come out later on what US intentions were/are. What makes it difficult is there are moves and countermoves. US makes a move in one direction, Russia, China or Iran see it and make counter or blocking move.
