Biden meets Xi and all we got was

"Following the meeting, President Joe Biden hosted a luncheon in honor of President Xi Jinping. The two heads of state exchanged views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other international and regional issues of mutual concern."

I dunno now, it seems as this awful tale of genocide after 6 weeks being the primary story is now declared by corporate media as passé. As far as they are concerned the what they call israel hamas 'war' and what I consider to be the zionist genocide, have no new stories.

Another hospital has been bombed but for corporate media, it is the story they first wrote weeks ago, most of 'em aren't bothering to pay attention to the lies which the zionists who have occupied Palestine are telling about 'proof', ie a couple of rusty old ak47's 'n a dusty bedstead & chair because they know that not only they but also about 80% of their readers know this is 100% bullshit.

The thing is that international media are about to put this on the back-burner, prolly reduce this genocide they won't admit, to periodic counts of the score/stats eg "15378 Palestinian deaths to 1207 zionist deaths as of today" or some other such nonsense. The ways to kill off a mass of people in one hit are quite limited, therefore apart from the occasional novel slaughter, this story which increasingly is creating what media owners consider to be the 'wrong sort of anger' will cause articles on it to be spiked in most instances; only being resuscitated when the Russians are kicking arse in the Ukraine.

So what do we do? The time for posting and debating the more arcane points of this horror are well past, it is time to take action but unfortunately I suspect few will do that.

Meaning right now interest in this exercise in slaughter is becoming voyeuristic, in the words of some fictional amerikan hero or another "Now is the time to shit or get off the pot'.

No group of self-deluded, self-indulgent arseholes, whatever their ancestors may have been subjected to, have a right to form a racist, religion driven state to the detriment of other humans, therefore the state of israel must be ended.

UNZ REVIEW

"Representatives of 57 Muslim states convened in Riyadh on 11 November to deliver a serious, practical blow against genocidal practitioners and enablers. But in the end, nothing was offered, not even solace.

The OIC’s final statement will always be enshrined in the Gilded Palace of Cowardice. Highlights of the tawdry rhetorical show: we oppose Israel’s “self-defense;” we condemn the attack on Gaza; we ask (who?) not to sell weapons to Israel; we request the kangaroo ICC to “investigate” war crimes; we request a UN resolution condemning Israel.

For the record, that’s the best 57 Muslim-majority countries could drum up in response to this 21st-century genocide.
History, even if written by victors, tends to be unforgiving towards cowards.

The Top Four Cowards, in this instance, are Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Morrocco – the latter three having normalized relations with Israel under a heavy US hand in 2020. These are the ones that consistently blocked serious measures from being adopted at the OIC summit, such as the Algerian draft proposal for an oil ban on Israel, plus banning the use of Arab airspace to deliver weapons to the occupation state."

If Netanyahu was ever going to stop, he would have done it in the late 90's. Here is what he responded to Justin Trudeau, who said that the suffering in and around the Al-Shifa hospital was heart-wrenching. This is what Netanyahu said (according to Blaze, which already has a reputation of its own):

Netanyahu publicly responded to Trudeau's statement by reminding the world of the truth and why Trudeau's criticisms should be directed at Hamas — not Israel.

"It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust," Netanyahu said.

"While Israel is doing everything to keep civilians out of harm's way, Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm's way," he explained. "Israel provides civilians in Gaza humanitarian corridors and safe zones, Hamas prevents them from leaving at gunpoint.

"It is Hamas not Israel that should be held accountable for committing a double war crime — targeting civilians while hiding behind civilians. The forces of civilization must back Israel in defeating Hamas barbarism," Netanyahu said.

Note that Netanyahu specified "Jews". Careless hearers and readers may thus fail to notice that far worse horrors have been perpetrated (by the Jews) on Palestinians. Not to mention Koreans, South-East Asians, Afghans, Iraqis, Yugoslavs, Somalis, Yemenis, Syrians, Libyans...

South Africa News from Middle East Eye:

South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) party said on Thursday that it would support a parliamentary motion calling for the Israeli embassy in South Africa to be closed.

The opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will propose the motion later on Thursday, also calling for the suspension of all diplomatic relations with Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians.

"The African National Congress will agree to a parliamentary motion which calls upon the government to close the Israel Embassy in South Africa and suspend all diplomatic relations with Israel until Israel agrees to a ceasefire," the ANC said in a statement.

As Pepe Escobar explains in The Cradle, what is really going on in Ukraine and in Gaza:

"There will be no American efforts spared to prevent BRICS 11 from getting close to OPEC+. A key aim is to instill fear in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi – as confirmed by Persian Gulf business sources."

Though Israel is fighting for itself, it is also key in this grand scheme. I just think Jacob Dreizin is wrong to cite Russia as an example for Israel that good things can happen when you do not fold. After all, Zelensky does not fold either.

Even after the bloody absurdity of the Al Shifa Hospital raid which turned up essentially nothing, Joe Biden is still explicitly repeating Israeli lies that have been disproven. His standing in the US (like the US's standing in the Middle East) is cratering, but it doesn't matter, he has made it clear that he will back Israel all the way. Meanwhile the Arab states do nothing, and their people are not threatening their stability. Israel is already starting Phase 2, and is beginning to order people sheltering in southern Gaza to move. The ethnic clensing is going on, and Hamas, the only force resisting, does not have the military strength to prevent it. This is beyond appalling.

You have posted Pepe's article. The same Pepe that was singing the praises of these governments only 6 weeks ago.

May I enquire about your government? Is it supporting or carrying about the bombing?
If yes, What is more cowardly than systematically carpet bombing a city focusing especially on hospitals, ambulances, journalists, medical staff, warehouses of food and supplies, water tanks, solar panels, fishing boats, bakeries?

Can this cowardice be outdone?

And if your country is boldly standing up to the savage barbarism of Israel cheered on by NATOstan and sidekicks like India, pray tell me what outstanding actions have you taken?

Be careeful that your curse on cowards does not end up placing you under the jackboot you are manifesting...

I notice a growing trend of distracting from those who hold full responsbility. We can platy that game for while it is only Palestinians being detained, bombed, tortured, denied medical treatment, denied food and water.

I think you meant Jewish People Zionists.

And the Zionists never had a right to that "card" in the first place,
as they were co-perpetrators of the Holocaust and Zioland protected
said perpetrators.

It is recorded in Zioland court records, but what is true and what people
believe aren't necessarily the same thing. People aren't ruled by what is true
only by what they believe is true. People once shaped their behavior on the belief
that if you ventured too far you could fall off the edge of the world.

People are, imho, going to continue to behave as if the Zionists have a right
to that card.

In Gaza, they are digging mass graves to bury the thousands of dead (when they can) - the Zionazis are trying to stop the dead being buried. Stray dogs are eating the rotting corpses. Thousands more are lying under the rubble of tens of thousands of buildings, dead and dying.

Meanwhile, leaders of 57 Muslim nations hold a big shindig to discuss the situation. It's like watching an elephant go through labour pains and giving birth to a mouse. What do they come up with?
Break off diplomatic relations with Israel? Oh, no, no, no!
Stop supplying Israel with oil? Oh, no, no, no!
Stop doing deals with Israel? Oh, no, no, no, Allah forbid!
Close off their airspace and ports to Israel? Oh, no, no, no!
Close down huge US military bases on their territory! Oh, no, no, no!

So what do they come up with?
The UN should do something!
The ICC should do something!
SOMEBODY (ANYBODY EXCEPT THEM) should do something!

Is there any Arab leader with a pair of balls?
What use are any of them, really?
Waste of space.

Netanyahu: "...the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust..."

The worst Zionist treachery perpetrated on the Jews since the Holocaust.

There. Fixed it for you.

Zionists treachery was on full display when they tricked, in full knowledge of their fate,
hundreds of thousands of Jews onto the trains to Auschwitz.
The leader of this treachery was put on trial later in Zioland. In his first trial he
was shredded by the judge in a judgement that took an entire day to read.

Because the leader of this Zionist treachery was a member of the administration in power
it was kicked upstairs to the Supreme Court of Zioland where it could be white-washed.
Two of the panel of five judges said, "guilty, guilty". The deciding judge in the split
ruled that it was ok for him to do what he did, "as the Jews of Hungry weren't worth saying" (those words are recorded history).

The current treachery by the Zionists has them performing a clear and undeniable Security Failure
with Jewish civilians paying the price. And then the enactment of the Hannibal Directive with Jewish civilians again
paying the price.

German authorities criminalize a well-known slogan of the Palestine movement

On November 2, 2023, the German "Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland" issued an order and published it in the Federal Gazette (BAnz AT 02.11.2023 B10) (originaltext: .... Sowie die Parole "Vom Fluss bis zum Meer" (auf Deutsch oder in anderen Sprachen)) prohibiting the public use of the slogan "From the River to the Sea" (in German or other languages). Infringements would be prosecuted under Section 86a of the German Criminal Code, which regulates "the dissemination of propaganda material of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations". Paragraph 86a can be used to justify" a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine".
This criminalizes a world-famous slogan, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free", which can be seen as an expression of pro-Palestinian solidarity, under the grotesque pretext that the HAMAS organization would use this slogan as a trademark.
The fact that HAMAS uses geographical indications such as "river" or "sea" in individual writings does not make it either the copyright holder or the administrator of this slogan as a trademark. This popular slogan was already used by Jasir Arafat in the 1960s, long before HAMAS was founded. In addition to the PLO, the Likud bloc has also named the "river" and the "sea" as the geographical coordinates of its political orientation. In its founding document, albeit in a kind of syntactical demarcation phobia, Likud calls for a Greater Israel that should extend "from the sea to the river".
I would be interested to know whether the foreign ministries of this world have already taken note of the legal escapade of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior? Have travel warnings for tourists been updated? Have travellers to Germany already been informed that they can wear a T-shirt undisturbed as long as only "Palestine will be free" is printed on it, but a print with the words combination "From the river to the sea" obliges the police to detain people at short notice to check and register their identity papers and to pass these findings on to the responsible public prosecutor's office so that they can initiate proceedings for the dissemination of the emblems of a terrorist organization.
Perhaps T-shirts with a reference to the highest and lowest natural landmarks in the world should be printed for trips to Germany.
From the Himalayas to the Dead Sea, Palestine will be free

Hamas command bunker is storytelling by IDF. If it's true that there are hundreds km of tunnels and various autonomous hamas groups, be assured that IDF is not going to find the command bunker, nor the hostages.

IDF is only able to shoot people armed with stones or some gun and grande but nothing else, except carpet bombing having complete air control.

The rest is hasbara, put a bunch of guns, bombs spare tablet and tell that you have 'prove' that hamas was under the hospital.

Negotiations have stalled over the fact that Israel only wants to release hostages caught in uniform but there are almost none of those because they usually go down fighting. (And then Israel mutilates and defiles their bodies). Palestinians want the thousands of hostages released among the civilians, including children that Israel picks up more and more of every day.

Meanwhile ethnic cleansing is going crazy in the West Bank.

Israel has again stormed Al Shifa (a couple of hours ago), shooting and killing randomly. Doctors and patients holed up without food, water, electricity for days. Israelis bombed the last water line too. God only know what is and will happen there because communications get cut. All the better to hide atrocities.
Israel has taken away dead bodies from the hospital to god knows where. And it has taken random men from the hospital to god knows where.

It is again forcing people to move south.

ps: Bethlehem cancels Christmas.
NATOstan cheers this on.

Everyone else gnashes their teeth and curses Arab and Muslim's repressive, authoritarian, vassal,[negative adjective of your choice] "regimes" wondering why they won't magically save the day.

Germany has gone full bonkers hoping that everyone forgets about their role in helping create this situation.

Like why don't the WHO, UN, UNICEF, Red Cross chiefs NON ARABS, NON MUSLIMS et.c go and freaking storm that Rafah crossing defying both Israel and Egypt. Will Egypt and Israel bomb them too? I mean that seems to be the general rule: only Arabs and Muslims get slaughtered.

Jewish American Historian Ron Unz with a surprising discovery ……

Apparently, during the late 1930s, Shamir and his small Zionist faction had become great admirers of the Italian Fascists and German Nazis, and after World War II broke out, they had made repeated attempts to contact Mussolini and the German leadership in 1940 and 1941, hoping to enlist in the Axis Powers as their Palestine affiliate, and undertake a campaign of attacks and espionage against the local British forces, then share in the political booty after Hitler’s inevitable triumph.

Now the Times clearly viewed Shamir in a very negative light, but it seemed extremely unlikely to me that they would have published such a remarkable story without being absolutely sure of their facts. Among other things, there were long excerpts from the official letters sent to Mussolini ferociously denouncing the “decadent” democratic systems of Britain and France that he was opposing, and assuring Il Duce that such ridiculous political notions would have no future place in the totalitarian Jewish client state they hoped to establish under his auspices in Palestine.

As it happens, both Germany and Italy were preoccupied with larger geopolitical issues at the time, and given the small size of Shamir’s Zionist faction, not much seems to have ever come of those efforts. But the idea of the sitting Prime Minister of the Jewish State having spent his early wartime years as an unrequited Nazi ally was certainly something that sticks in one’s mind……..

This seems like ages ago but it was on October 19 in the Guardian. What a difference a couple of weeks make:

The Israeli government has accused the BBC of perpetuating a “modern blood libel” in its reporting of the catastrophic explosion at al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident on Tuesday evening, a BBC reporter said there was a lack of clarity but suggested that Israel was likely to be at fault.

On Thursday, the Israeli government’s official account on X, formerly known as Twitter, likened this to the antisemitic lie that Jews murdered Christian boys to use their blood for religious rituals.

An alternate approach to the Gaza Hospitals:

Before the Israeli `post October 7th offensive regarding the hospitals, should Hamas have made the following offer?:

"Before beginning any response to our attacks of October 7th, we hereby declare a truce and an IDF inspection team can come and look anywhere in the area of the hospitals.
This will show, without any civilian death, that the hospitals are free of military"

Of course Hamas did not do this because they WANT high civilian death rate?

Anybody agree?

Of course, this is complicated by the threats from some of the IDF that because of the Supreme Court fight, they would not defend against attacks so that Netanyehu is ousted and it now looks that they did pull back from the border before October 7, a complex variant of false flag!

Posted by: william paul | Nov 16 2023 15:30 utc | 34

This situation is never going to change until the Palestinian right to self determination is given equal weight as the Jewish one.
The UN Rapporteur has said in her interviews that Israel has no right to self defence as an occupier. Great.

But when all these talking heads are asked: do you condemn Hamas war crimes?

They should have the guts to say:
a) we don't know what Hamas' war crimes were exactly on Oct 7 and we will never know because Israel defied international law and did not allow for a legal investigation. We only have Hamas allegations and Israeli allegations and zero investigation.

b) Israel's war crimes since it unilaterally declared independence in 1948 have never been addressed. So if we are going to address war crimes, Hamas will have to wait its turn till we get from 1948 to 2023.

c) I remind you that under the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention Palestinians have the right to armed resistance against a racist occupying power.

d) Because Israel has not signed the convention on International Armed Conflict and the law on non-International Armed Conflict is not well developed the sole party that has heavier responsibility as the Occupying Power is Israel.

e) We have not even got to the crimes against humanity committed by Israel in the West Bank before and after Oct 7.

The fact that these mealy mouthed clowns don't speak more clearly, announcing that 103 UNRWA have lost their lives means that the only function of the UN is to whitewash ethnic cleansing and genocide for Empire.

The problem is that if Empire has to go to such lengths to stay afloat, it does not bode well for Empire.

Ali Abunimah @AliAbunimah

Catastrophe unfolding now at al-Shifa hospital: I summarize comments of hospital director Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic about 30 minutes ago:

There are about 7,000 people under total siege inside al-Shifa compound, including 650 injured people, 45 dialysis patients and 36 premature babies.

A few hours ago one dialysis patient died and 4 are at imminent risk of death because no power for dialysis machines. Three premature babies died in recent days. Two injured persons died in recent hours due to lack of treatment.

There is no water, fuel or electricity. Israel broke the main water line into the hospital. There is no purified water to make the special formula for the babies, so they are using ordinary water and some have become sick with diarrhea, infections, fever.

There is no food. Children are starving and distressed. There is no medicine and the wounds of injured people are becoming horribly infected, some with maggots.

Hospital administrators tried to send a delegation to the occupation forces to ask for food, fuel, medicine and safe evacuation of the sick and injured but the Israelis refused to to talk to them.

The hospital is besieged from all sides by tanks and bulldozers. The bulldozers are destroying areas around the compound, but no one can see clearly what they are doing. Anyone who tries to move between hospital buildings is shot at by snipers or drones. There are hundreds of soldiers in the hospital compound searching all over and causing severe damage to hospital premises and equipment.

In the 48 hours the occupation forces have been inside the hospital or on its grounds not a single shot has been fired at them.

No one can leave the hospital or enter it. The situation is disastrous not just for people in Shifa but for anyone in Gaza City who is injured or becomes ill, because no one can reach the hospital and the hospital can't do anything for them anyway. Anyone who has a heart attack or a stroke at home will die.

Dr. Abu Salmiya says "We hold the world responsible" for what he calls a genocide. "We are waiting for slow death."

From all the Hamas interviews and statements I've listened to, I gather that they did not expect the Golani Brigade to be so pathetic. More of them had expected to die but about a 100 lost their lives out of 1,500. They ended up taking more hostages than planned.

So part of the crazy response is the Israeli embarrasment and not wanting to admit that most of the civilians killed on Oct 7 happened at the hands of the IDF. Hamas could never have known that would happen.

An interview with a Gaza journalist: the talk around the strip was that a heavy bombing was soon due anyway, a bigger than usual mowing the grass given all the West Bank escalations since the start of 2023. And especially what Netanyahu said in Dec 2022 with the new hard right cabinet.

I agree with you that Hamas underestimated the barbarism of the Israelis. The only thing they really complained about was why aid was not getting through. This is a mystery to me why a UN force can't storm the damn border.

Agree. The method in the madness is that after Nakba 2.0, Israel is going to need another million+ colonialist settlers to move into the newly 'cleansed' areas. A global pandemic of 'antisemitism' to drive insecure Jews to the 'promised land' is intrinsic to the success of the plan.

Comment - Blind Rage is not a successful Military Strategy. This behaviour signals desperation on the part of the IDF. It is shockingly similar to what the Japanese Army did when they plundered and pillaged Manila in Feb. 1945 as they were defeated.

"The Americans who have penetrated into Manila have about 1000 troops, and there are several thousand Filipino soldiers under the Commonwealth Army and the organized guerrillas. Even women and children have become guerrillas. All people on the battlefield with the exception of Japanese military personnel, Japanese civilians, and special construction units will be put to death."

A sensational scandal for the Israeli occupation army at Al-Shifa Hospital.

The occupation army brought crates this morning, claiming they contained aid for Al-Shifa Hospital.

They transferred them inside the hospital, but the crates actually held weapons, clothing, and military equipment pre-prepared for staged footage inside the hospital.

A comparison of external images of the crates released by the occupation army and the video they published reveals the weapons being taken out.

The same logo on the crates outside the hospital is evident in both images.

It's a poorly produced film and a staggering scandal.

Ron Unz hasn't discovered anything that has not been notorious for decades. The terrorist attacks on British targets during the war and for three years afterwards by Irgun and the Stern Gang as well as Haganah- incuding the killings of Lord Moyne and Count Bernadotte, the King David Hotel bombing and the execution of two British NCOs- were not only well known but a deep wellspring of anti-Israeli feeling throughout British society.
For some reason, however, this history is no longer much talked about.

RT reports South Africa referred Israel to the ICC. Colombia is going to request the court to prosecute Nutandyahoo for war crimes; the charge being the massacre of civilians in Gaza. I suppose they ought to include Joe Biden as the enabling accomplice.

Yes, many Israeli civilians were killed by crossfire at festival
Yes, many Israeli civilians were killed by Israeli tanks/helicopters at kibbutz
Yes, many Israeli civilians said Hamas was kind to them during attacks and as captives

There is no such thing as an "Israeli Civilian". You know why.

Such things have happened before, although, God knows, it takes an unusually callous and hateful force to besiege premature babies and dialysis patients in their dozens, but rarely in such clear view of the world.
People everywhere should think about the implications of condoning such behaviour: if it is acceptable for Israeli soldiers to treat Palestinian civilians (and premature babies!) in this way what is next?
Poor people 'suicided' by the state? Old folk left to die in pandemics because triage procedures make their lives of very low priority? Crippled workers...
Civilisations take centuries to build, months to destroy. It is not the Empire which is crumbling but everything about it that contributed to its self justification: the rape, pillage and slave driving persists- the justice system is closed down, nobody pretends any more, the churches are empty, and Habermas rules in the Academy.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesgoon "discovering" weapons caches in hospitals for the benefit of US American television audiences, has become a meme, as they say. Up there with Baghdad Bob: a practically permanent human archetype of military goofiness. Sometimes, when poor Matt Guttman of ABC affects journalistic scrutiny in his presence (e.g. about that chair), Hagari lays on the suffering Jewish mother routine: "We risk our lives to take you down here, and you answer back with questions?" It's comical enough to provoke pity, if you momentarily forget the ongoing genocide.

Lies told to justify genocide are blood libels: crimes already. The biggest blood libel running is that Israel fights Hamas, when the very existence of Hamas, financed for years by Netanyahu's faction, is presented solely as a pretext for genocide. Israel is about wiping out the Palestinian people, not Hamas. Who in world doesn't know that, by now?

We can talk and bleat back and forth until Hell freezes over, but here's a few truth's everyone needs to face:

The Jews are going to kill or exile every Palestinian in Gaza unless stopped by force.
The RoW is frozen in fear or self-interest and will do nothing except mouth impotent platitudes.
The UN will prove, once again, just like in Rwanda, it is incapable of any useful role except partially feeding the remains of the population after the cleansing.
Once the genocidal cleansing is complete, the RoW will desperately try to forget it happened and "normal" relations with Israel will be re-instituted over the next two years.
Within one decade the Jews will have driven the rest of the Palestinians in the West Bank out of Israel.
No-one, least of all the Moslem States, will do anything about it.
The concentration camp for Palestinians will simply have moved into tents in the desert.
The invasion of Europe by desperate refugees will increase exponentially.
The Jews know this.
Biden will die remembering none of it.
Either the Jews are stopped now or,whether you like it or not, that's the future for the Palestinians. Get used to it.

This was posted on another site- is this true ?

….. Israeli banks blocking Russian assets – media

"Several leading Israeli banks have begun to segregate accounts belonging to Russian citizens or Russian tax residents, Forbes and RBK reported on Thursday, citing lawyers and financiers.

According to Mark Oigman, founder of international financial company SmartGen, the measures stem from EU sanctions, in particular restrictions introduced against Russians by the Belgian-based depositary Euroclear.

Last year, the clearing house blocked accounts at Russia’s National Settlement Depository (NSD), through which Russian investors had managed their assets held in foreign jurisdictions. Under guidance from Euroclear, if a Russian resident’s investment portfolio exceeded €100,000 ($108,000), any coupon income, dividends, or proceeds from the sale of assets linked to it were credited to a special segregated account. This deprived Russian clients of the possibility to manage their assets, and gave Euroclear a means to block them in the event of sanctions violations, Vadim Pogosyan, a partner at asset management firm Smartly, told Forbes.

The restrictions initially applied only to EU-based financial institutions which held Euroclear-linked assets, but the clearing house has since instructed its counterparties outside the bloc to comply with the requirements. Segregation measures targeting Russian accounts were previously introduced at the UAE’s NBD Bank and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE). According to media sources, an order instructing Israeli financial institutions to segregate accounts belonging to Russians came into force on November 13.

“Israeli banks began verbally warning some of their clients – most likely many – about the risks of blocking last week (no doubt only the "correctly" connected ones. -vt). Many people last week sold everything they could sell to avoid segregation. According to my estimates, few securities were blocked, since a lot of work was done, and at least private banking clients, wealthy Russians, managed to sell assets subject to segregation,” Oigman told RBK.

According to Aleksey Kovalenko of Israel-based legal firm Kovalenko and Partners, Israeli banks are currently negotiating the details of asset segregations with Euroclear, as many account holders have duel Russian-Israeli citizenship, and permanently live in Israel.

“The Israeli side insists that those who have an Israeli passport are in fact Israelis and should not be subject to the restrictions that should affect Russians, even despite having a second Russian passport,” the lawyer stated.

However, experts have warned that Israeli banks are likely to continue the segregation procedures for the time being in order to comply with Euroclear rules.

According to Forbes sources, the Israel Discount Bank is so far the only bank in the country to have started segregating Russian assets. Other financial organizations are reportedly waiting for the end of negotiations with Euroclear and the finalized step-by-step action plan.

Meanwhile, financial experts have suggested that Russian investors should de-risk their holdings by selling assets linked with Euroclear, and should instead buy Israeli or American securities that are not connected to the depository."….

Headline briefs from Democracy Now:

Twenty-four members of the House of Representatives have signed a joint letter calling on President Biden to press for a bilateral ceasefire in Gaza, on the basis of grave violations of children’s rights. The letter was authored by Democratic Congressmembers Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Mark Pocan of Wisconsin and Betty McCollum of Minnesota. This comes as the powerful lobby group AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, steps up its support for primary challengers to lawmakers who’ve voiced support for a ceasefire. Slate magazine reports AIPAC is expected to spend $100 million in Democratic primaries backing opponents of House progressives.

At the prestigious National Book Awards ceremony in New York last night, 20 of the 25 nominated authors made a collective statement on stage calling for a ceasefire. This is author Aaliyah Bilal.

Aaliyah Bilal: “On behalf of the finalists, we oppose the ongoing bombardment of Gaza and call for a humanitarian ceasefire to address the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinian civilians, particularly children. We oppose antisemitism and anti-Palestinian sentiment and Islamophobia equally, accepting the human dignity of all parties, knowing that further bloodshed does nothing to secure lasting peace.”

One of the event’s sponsors, Zibby Media, withdrew its support ahead of the prize ceremony, after learning of the authors’ plan to speak out against the war.

Meanwhile, Black Christian faith leaders have been meeting with White House officials and members of the Congressional Black Caucus to call for an end to the violence. Last week, over 900 Black faith leaders representing churches across the U.S. took out a full-page ad in The New York Times to call for a ceasefire and a commitment to a meaningful peace process.

There is no point in engaging with the ICC, as it is a western puppet organisation.

As pointed out by Craig Murray, the ICJ should be engaged instead, by activating the Genocide Convention. So far none of the signatories to the Genocide Convention has the courage to do so. Perhaps some of them are ignorant of this ability.

The Times of Israel - Op piece by Manny Friedman "Jews DO control the media" : https://web.archive.org/web/20130117163519/http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/jews-do-control-the-media/">http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/jews-do-control-the-media/">https://web.archive.org/web/20130117163519/http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/jews-do-control-the-media/
A very rare piece (in a language accessible to US goyim) bragging casually about Jewish zionist control of the narrative tools in the US. The same goes for the absolute dominance of the Jewish zionist lobby on the political and judicial system in the US (from federal to municipal). In the US military, Christian Zionists have been tasked to expand their influence. The discursive role (or reflex) of the US liberal Jews is to deny those facts and present Jewish zionists as being used as mere mercenaries of the US WASP empire. This is an "alternative fact" of course. What happened since October 7th illustrates the fact that the zionist entity is not a US base, nor an ordinary colonial outpost or a replica of the disgusting Apartheid South Africa. The zionist entity is militarily weak, suicidal, and genocidal (with nuclear weapons). It is a liability to US interests in the region and globally, forcing Washington to divert vital resources (military, financial and political) to maintain, finance and rescue this giant, and absolutely insane, Jewish ghetto. The US, and Europe, are literally drained, self-censored, terrorized, and increasingly polarized, by a Jewish zionist lobby that has achieved control of most of their state apparatus, media and cultural institutions, universities, etc. From far left to far right, from liberals to conservatives, most of the transatlantic political parties are de facto under the control of a foreign entity, itself directed by crazed religious millennialists and Talmudists nuts. But "Russia", "China" are framed as the nefarious threat on the domestic polity.
Once again any liberal jew outside Palestine who is sitting on the fence or in shock and confusion should read Jewish Ron Unz describing his discovery of reputable, dense, and documented Israel Shahak's books about Zionism and Judaism's deeply rooted problems and threats. « Oddities of the Jewish Religion » describes Unz's process of enlightenment. https://www.unz.com/runz/american-pravda-oddities-of-the-jewish-religion/

Bluesolent | Nov 16 2023 17:55 utc | 73, thanks for that link, the paragraph below caught my eye.

There is, at the very least, a strong prima facie case that the actions of the United States and United Kingdom and others, in openly providing direct military support to be used in genocide, are complicity in genocide. The point of Article IV is that individuals are responsible, not just states. So Netanyahu, Biden and Sunak bear individual responsibility. So, indeed, do all those who have been calling for the destruction of the Palestinians.

WRT to the recent vote in the UK HoC. Could Article IV be applied to all those who voted against an immediate cease-fire on humanitarian grounds (and international law)? It might be argued that they all implicitly colluded in Israel's war crimes.

Israelophobia is now a word:

"Israelophobia is surging in Britain. So says Times columnist Melanie Phillips, this week’s guest on The Brendan O’Neill Show. The ‘venom, ignorance and bigotry’ currently being leveled at the world’s only Jewish state is ‘chilling’, she says. And it comes not just from people on the street, from those anti-Zionist marches that take over London every week. Parliament, the BBC and other major institutions are also all playing their part. All too often, the UK elites downplay the brutality of Hamas, while grossly distorting the motivations of Israelis. Jews defending themselves are cast as murderous barbarians. This misinformation campaign, Phillips argues, desperately needs to be challenged."

Is the IDF supplying Al Shifa Hospital with medical supplies, including bandages, O2, formula, sterile water and power?
No, they have cut off all medical supplies and are refusing resupply, a clear war crime.

Is the IDF allowing patients to be admitted to the Al Shifa Hospital?
No, they have formed an armored ring around the hospital, those attempting to enter are either shot at, or shot and killed....no exceptions. Yet another war crime.

Is the IDF allowing patients and families to leave the Al Shifa Hospital grounds?
No, see above, another war crime.

Is the IDF continuing airstrikes using American made aircraft (F35's, and F16's) on civilian infrastructure and apartment blocks and refugee camps?
Yes, strikes are continuing, and hundreds more civilians have been killed by the IDF, another war crime.

Is the IDF using armored bulldozers to destroy the immediate infrastructure of the Al Shifa complex?
Yes, they continue to destroy civilian housing and water and sewer lines that service the hospital and the compound.

Has the IDF allowed food supplies to reach the staff, patients and refugees at the Al Shifa hospital.
No, they have ignored President Biden's order to protect the civilians, a clear and present war crime, and are continuing their embargo on food supplies for tens of thousands of staff, patients and refugees stranded in the complex.

The massive IDF blood lust continues unabated.......Bibi is apparently telling Joe Biden to get lost in real time........pathetic....

Not much, even a full layered defense s300+buk+panzir can be overcome , specially if it is a brute force attack 5000 rockets to 600 counter-missiles.

As for having taken, ground assault from what I understood, one of the 10 units, not bad but once again just one out of ten and protection was probably minimal.

It seems more for than against the system.

I'd be more interested in knowing how many of the 500 missiles they sent on interception hit the target.

Lavrov on Gaza at the presser with Venezuela's FM Immanuel Gil:

Question (retranslated from Spanish, addressed to Mr Gil): What is the Venezuelan government's assessment of Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip? Does Caracas consider it possible to send humanitarian aid to Gaza?

Sergey Lavrov (speaking after Immanuel Gil): We talked in detail about the Gaza Strip today. I would like to reiterate our position.

We categorically condemn terrorism in all its manifestations. But we are also categorically against countries fighting it with methods that grossly violate international humanitarian law (indiscriminate bombing of residential areas, hospitals, kindergartens and other public premises). As a result, thousands of innocent civilians, including children, are losing their lives.

As for the position of the international community, yesterday the UN Security Council shamefully asked for only one humanitarian pause and could not support the wording of the General Assembly, which called for a humanitarian truce as a step towards a ceasefire. That says a lot. First of all, about the position of the United States and its closest allies.

We insist on an immediate cessation of bloodshed and a solution to the humanitarian problems that are literally screaming in the Gaza Strip and now in the West Bank. Little is said or written about it now, because all attention is focused on the Gaza Strip, but there are also dozens of victims there, raids are being carried out. It's disturbing.

In the long term, this problem can only be resolved through the creation of a Palestinian state, as provided for by the UN Security Council resolutions. The longer the implementation of this issue is delayed, the more difficult it will be to ensure stability in the entire region.

We reiterate our position on the need to sit down at the negotiating table and agree on the establishment of a Palestinian state without delay, as soon as the hostilities are stopped and the humanitarian needs of the people of the Gaza Strip are met.

It's a complicated matter. If you look at the map, you will see that there is little left of the territories on which a Palestinian state is to be established (especially in the West Bank). As a result of the unilateral actions of the Israeli authorities, settlements have been established. They are not recognized by the laws of any country in the world. Even the United States condemned Tel Aviv's actions.

There is a lot of work to be done. The League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have clearly confirmed that the two-state solution and the creation of a Palestinian state that will coexist side by side with Israel in security and good-neighborliness remains the only path that everyone should follow. [My Emphasis]

The double emphasis is aimed at highlighting why the Outlaw US Empire has continued to block a just settlement over many decades. It thrives on the continuing chaos and quite probably wants the war to expand as I wrote in "War in West Asia: Another Point-of View". Russia clearly condemns the Zionist's actions as being equal to or even more hideous than Hamas's.

Meloni is only staging.
It's only smoke in the eyes of her electoral base.
It will only cost taxpayers for nothing.

«Russia clearly condemns the Zionist's actions as being equal to or even more hideous than Hamas's.»

Many people on both sides (and several in the comments of this blog) are fanatically vile, even if their ability to scale up the vileness is different, and this mainly helps the elites on both sides to stay in power. HAMAS made a huge gift to Likud on 10/7, and Likud returned it multiple times after that.

Either the Jews are stopped now or,whether you like it or not, that's the future for the Palestinians. Get used to it.

Arch, aren't all israelis required to serve the military unless torah-exempt?

Posted by: hedlykarok | Nov 16 2023 16:55 utc | 55

Yes.

But it is irrelevant.

There are no civilians in an active colonisation.

Non-military people are directly engaged in colonisation along with Military people who provide the conditions for non-military to enact colonization.

Distinctions without a difference ...

@21

What has me worried is that we citizens of the West are the next Gazans.

Basically, it appears no one really cares what happens to the Gazans.

It is all about virtue signaling.

But I hope us little people of every nation realize we have a common stake in justice, and that the powers align toward peace.

Karlofi @ 89
Thamks for that update.
Sad to here Lavrovs and Russias view.
Way to ambiguous using the term terrorist coming from a country wrongly accused of just that (as Palistine).

Suddenly they sugest 'negotiating'
Whilst always insisting the west was agreement incapable.

Im sad, this is a bad mistake. End of multipolar world.

And surrender of Russia to America.

Respect

Heavy bombing around the Indonesian hospital. It's an absolute disaster.

The argument about weapons being found in hospitals is going way off the rails.

People are entertaining the notion that weapons should not be found in hospitals.

But I remember being told many times by ICU / Emergency nurses how they collect the weapons from gang victims or other patients coming in with weapons after a violent altercation. I remember stories about doctors disarming violent patients and taking away daggers and guns.

Those weapons all end up tossed in the lost and found, in boxes.

It's something easy to verify: Just talk to any emergency nurse from a Western city with a percentage of violent crime and ask what Emergency Unit does with weapons taken from patients.

Unfortunately, "Gaza" or the law of the jungle has been "in use" for a long time.
People are trying to outgrow it.
But how many people are there already?
Without consciousness, you remain an ape.
The planet's limited living space forces us to co-operate, but hierarchy is also an expression of the "right of the strongest".
